@suseagull04: If every fic was this good, I would never get any work done, because it was really hard to put this fic down! The mystery aspect of it is crafted so well, and to top it all off, this is the best slowburn I've read in awhile. Definitely a fic you don't want to miss out on!

@na-dineee: Single Dad Alex and hockey captain Henry Fox meet for the first time at Alex’s daughter’s tryouts – and yeah, they take it slow. But honestly, Alex flirts like crazy, Henry’s texting game is on fire, and to top it all off, Alex’s daughter is totally smitten with Henry. My heart does somersaults just thinking about this super sweet and super sexy fic.

@suseagull04: Usually I think the sequel is never as good as the original, but that's absolutely not the case with this fic! The version of our faves that we know and love from The Tea Shop on Verbena Street return, and CCF has so much respect and love for these characters that it's impossible to tell that the sequel isn't written by the original author, only with their permission. Add to that the fact that this fic adds tropes that make perfect sense in this verse, and you've got yet another fic that's worthy of becoming a classic. I'll definitely be reading this fic again soon!

I can't say it enough, this fic is absolutely AMAZING, a must read!

@na-dineee: Alex and Henry first met at culinary school, where they were inseparable—how did they end up parting ways?! Years later, they cross paths again under unexpected circumstances … It’s a lovers-to-exes-to-lovers story, with quite a bit of angst. Beautifully written, the tension builds perfectly, and the ending is just as lovely.

Normal and Sane KHR Merch Haul (it's mostly Hibari btw)

It's been a while since I posted and gushed about the merch I've been getting, and I received a lot since then (esp with the recent Ju/mp Fe/sta) so I'll just combine them all in one post! (this is a long post bc of my yapping, ignore the texts if u just wanna see the pics dkdhdkdb)

The first one here is Hibari's Pri/maniacs perfume! (displayed with the Hibari nitotan nui for size comparison 🤣)

Credits and a very loud eardrum shattering shout-out to @amiahoshi for translating the product description for it and for always saving my life from shit MTLs 😭💜✨🫂 That TL gave me doki dokis hahahahaha helphdhdvfhvdf I'm way too deep into this, I'm beyond cooked 🤣 (I'll just make a separate post for the TL!)

Though honestly, it's kind of a dumbass decision on my side to buy perfume in the first place because I get nauseous from most of them. Not to mention, since this is a flammable item, it's extra costly to buy them from JP.

But surprisingly, when I tried smelling it, it's kinda okay? (or maybe I'm just coping since he's my oshi) So in the end, maybe it's not that much of a dumbass idea to buy this after all.

I won't be using it regularly because every drop of this is gold 🗿💸 and I don't go out often anyway. But maybe when I attend certain occasions I will. I'm almost tempted to buy a second one (one for display, one for use???...das crazy...shut up Ein, have mercy on your wallet)

Next one is Ill/egal Factory Studio's TYL Hibari figure! This one's an unofficial merch btw, but it looks so good that it's definitely worth it! 😭🙏✨

It's quite huge, the product page says the height is around 37cm (at least taller than a regular ruler?). It even came with this really nice-looking photocard and the box looks so good too (which I'm keeping under the desk because I didn't wanna throw it away).

Now, I'm praying for GSC to release an official figure for TYL Hibari. Right now, we do have his Nendo 2.0 coming up, so I'll just be waiting for updates on that one.

Speaking of GSC, I also got his Nendo (1.0) some time last year! The poses are so cute, I'm glad Hibird is with him in this! 🐥💜 (for the GSC Pop-up Parade figure it's here)

This reminded me, I should buy a BJD body for this so I can buy custom clothes for him 😈😈😈 That also means custom nendo for a certain other blorbo hehe 🍎 That'll be another project for a different day and post.

In terms of figures, I'm still on the look-out for the G.E.M. figure (where he's wearing a suit in a dynamic pose ft Hibird) and Ill/egal Factory Studio's Varia Arc Hibari (ft him obliterating Gola Mosca *chef kiss*). Just need the right timing (+ right listing), since I'm doing 5D chess budgeting over here and losing lots of braincells 😭😭😭 PRICE GOUGERS/SCALPERS WHEN I CATCH YOU!!! 🤬🤬🤬 WHEN I CATCH YOU!!! This stupid mf says as she buys their shit anyway. Sorry, I'm part of the problem. I buy the less price gouged one at least???

This Nendo also came with a bunch of free Shikishi boards from the Hikokuji set! 1 x Tsuna, 1 x Hibari, 1 x Dino, 2 x Mukuro, 2 x Xanxus, 2 x Squalo and 2 x Bel. I gave the dupes to my brother (the ones with dupes happened to be his faves lol), so here are the ones left with me (the extra Hibari one is already in my shrine).

When I rearrange my Hibari shrine, I'm thinking of also setting up a general KHR(e) shrine so I can display them there.

Anyway, here's the whole package I got for that batch of shipment!

This includes merch from the Am/ano Aki/ra Exhibit plus Vol 2 of the KHR x San/rio Collab merch. I really love the Sanrio merch they're releasing (it's just so cute! 😭💖 H.K. & H.K. duo, you will always be famous to me) so I make sure to at least get the acrylic stands from Vol 1 and Vol 2. But I spectacularly failed for Vol 3 (it's a lottery, I was so depressed that time I forgor to buy pulls...), so I'm at the mercy of the JP marketplaces again for this and the prices are making me fall to my knees.

For the Am/ano Aki/ra Exhibit merch, I was actually a bit hesitant to buy this tbh because I was planning to personally attend at their last location in Nagoya, so I might as well just buy it there? But plans fell through so I went ahead and bought them. At that time, I thought Nagoya is the last one but apparently there are plans to continue? So if there's another one later this year, then I'll make plans again to finally attend. I just need someone to go with me! Even if I already went to JP before, I feel like I need to go a few more times with someone to get used to international travel 😭 (also I'm slightly a workaholic perhaps, I feel guilty when I take time off work)

Here's the tapestry at the upper-left corner by the way! (plus some other ones I have) It's in-between the two blankets I got from that one auction that got me sweating a lot and almost gave me high blood pressure.

It's so worth it, I wake up to this every day 🤣🫶✨ I adjusted the display from the left pic since then, to make space for the new one in the right pic. (My room has zero windows, so I had the curtain rod installed there just for this purpose ssjdhvfjhsvf the things I do for my oshi...tho I think it's easy to tell how small my room is from this wall, I'm struggling to cram all of these in there fr fr)

Next up is my copy of the KHR's English Dub by Diskotek! I honestly haven't watched it yet because I keep forgetting to buy the Blu-ray External Disk Drive 💀💀💀 I should really order one soon, I'm very curious about how they performed.

Then, after that is my haul from Anpanic's listings! I happen to come across it within like 10 minutes of them posting it, and I never zoomed in on someone's Sho/pee link so fast hahahahaha Anyway, I was fast and managed to grab most of the Hibari-related ones.

And I'm so happy they even included me some freebie Knights (En/stars) merch!!! 🥹💖✨ They probably noticed that my pfp in Sho\\pee is Leo hehe 🥰🥰🥰

I also got merch through The Vongola Hideout too! My favorite from this is the handkerchief showing Hibari feeding Hibird some takoyaki! 🥹💜✨ I've been looking for it for a while now and the ones I've seen before are so overpriced. My other fave is the fish Reborn I caught for Butter ahahaha it looks so funny, I love it so much 🤣🥰🤣🥰 I didn't know this merch existed helpsdjfshjf

Besides those, I got a bunch of CCG of not only Hibari but for my dearest girlies as well 🥰✨ Please look at them!!!

And I really just wanna put the spotlight on this particular card with Kyoko and Ryohei!!! Specifically, this very rare expression for Kyoko-chan awawawawawawa IT'S SO GOOD!!! SHE SLAYED SO HARD!!! I REALLY REALLY WANTED A COPY OF THIS BC OF THAT AND NOW I HAVE IT~😍😍😍

Finally the last ones is the recent batch I got from FJ, which includes the merch sets from the recent Jum/p Fest/a! They were actually two boxes, but one got stuck in Customs due to the holidays, so I have two packages arrive at the same time in the post office lmao

Here are the misc ones I got too! The Ryohei and Reborn ones are what I got because they're in a set with the Hibari chibi gashapon (will be gifting them to my friends too). Then the Fran photocard is an Ani/mate freebie, and I gave him to my brother.

oh my god. i loved this book like yeah it was kinda cringey at points but ahsdghas idc at this point. im gonna die on this hill. the writing was simple but still very pretty and enjoyable. i was going back and forth from 4.5 to 5 but i ended up choosing 5 because i loved this book and im nearly positive i've found a new comfort book.

the cover (we judge covers in this household thank you very much) is so so so pretty i love it. and plus best friends to lovers and fake dating??? fuck yeah sign me up!!

the overall plot was really good, she's a fashion student and he's a TA (i also had ZERO clue what that was until i searched it up) and they had to fake date for his sisters wedding. tho it was kinda strange to me how like none of his family even batted an eyelid that she was there. there was no like hi i haven't seen you for like four years do you mind if i join ur wedding party? anyway what was so cute was how levi would pick dani up and drop her off everywhere and i mean everywhere. i seriously don't think im ever going to find love atp. and the flowers/flower shop ahhhh i love it.

AND THE POEMS. THE MOTHER-FUCKING-POEMS. im never getting over that.

Mega Library Sale: The Stories Behind the Scores

OK, I'm ready to talk about them! 2nd photo of additional books later on.

1-2. Accent on April + Passport to Romance - Betty Cavanna

I should perhaps be more discerning with my Cavanna purchases at this point, because suddenly I'm finding her more often, plus she wrote DOZENS of books and I really prefer her animal-focused ones over general teen romance, but…I have never disliked one, so I keep taking whatever I can find. Have not read these but Passport to Romance is about a girl doing a year at school in Switzerland, giving echoes of Madeline L'Engle's And Both Were Young.

3. A Highland Collie - Albert Payson Terhune: I own twice as many books of his as I've read (secretly I fear they may not hold up to the esteem in which I held them from age 10-22, the last time I read one), so this is just another one to throw on the pile -- but I LOVE that this one's dust jacket is basically perfect, protected by the mylar case; the only library stickers are the ones on its spine. Most of the books I have of his in this edition are jacketless.

4-5. Capture of the Golden Stallion + The Golden Stallion's Victory - Rutherford G. Montgomery: 2 books in a series about the title character, haven't yet worked out the exact order. I have both read & own a handful of his books, one of the great prolific midcentury animal-book writers, but none of these.

6. Dark Sunshine - Dorothy Lyons: One of my all-time favorite authors, most of her books are rare & decently expensive and this is 1 of 2-3 that aren't, BUT it's still uncommon and I'm THRILLED to have a hardcover now in such good condition. I've had a paperback of this 1951 release for 20 years (5-star fave) but I will be upgrading.

7. Bright Spurs - Armine von Tempski: New title & author for me, which is always fun! I love how old fashioned it looks (I guessed thirties, it's actually 1946). What if dude ranch, but in Hawaii!

8. A Seal Called Andre - Harry Goodridge & Lew Dietz: I bought a mass market copy last year (still unread), but I think I'm replacing it with this easier-to-read version, even though the MM cover is cuter. Andre is on Wikipedia, read about him here! You may also remember the 90s kids' movie of the same title he inspired.

9. Born Free - Joy Adamson: Speaking of friendly hand-raised wildlife, I read this in high school and really loved it then. I don't remember it well, so I thought this would be fun to grab. It's a newer reprint and rather heavy for a paperback...but for now I want it. (do I already have at least a couple dozen unread books about wildlife? irrelevant)

10. Wild Magic - Tamora Pierce: it is my solemn vow that I will collect the complete quartets of both Alanna & Daine in both the mass market paperbacks I originally read, and this beautiful and more easily readable newer paperback edition. The former was easier and is now done, but I'm making decent progress on the latter goal, surprisingly.

11. Wayside School is Falling Down - Louis Sachar: 2/3rds of the way now to owning the trilogy of this wacky and highly beloved childhood favorite that remains evergreen in my heart. I have just at this very minute finished listening to the audiobook of the complete collection for the THIRD time in as many years on Libby -- I should probably just buy it at this point -- because it is such a good bedtime story. But I also love the illustrations at the start of each chapter in the print version!

12. Mythology - Edith Hamilton: LISTEN. I had to read this damn book (500 pages, this exact edition) OVER THE SUMMER for A.P. Lit, and because I didn't wanna read BORING books during my Unlimited Reading Time part of the year, I put it off until like the last 2 weeks and did not do amazingly on the test we had on day 2 or 3. BUT, I did begrudgingly admit that this was a really accessible overview of Greek & Roman mythology, and told myself if I ever found a cheap copy in good shape, I would buy it, at least for a while. So here it is.

13. Mystery at Saddle Creek - Shelley Peterson: this was my one non-vintage splurge in terms of books, because horses! I am always down for a young teen horse book. Seems like kind of a drastic genre turn given that it's a sequel to this book but sure! okay! I'm curious!! (I have not read the above book, Sundancer, but I remember it being among my Goodreads recs for horse books back when said recs were still good).

14. Briar Rose - Jane Yolen: assigned reading in 8th grade that made a huge impact on me at the time, though I only remember a few bits and pieces. I think this cover is bland, but I've been wanting to reread it for a while and it's no longer at local libraries.

15. What Happened to Lani Garver - Carol Plum-Ucci: speaking of books I bought last year...this one at this exact sale even... BUT, that was a smaller-than-average paperback and I decided that I love this book enough I would rather have it in hardcover, because the font size is more pinched than I'd like in the other one.

16. Furiously Happy - Jenny Lawson: I don't like this as much as her first memoir, but I still like it a lot and now I actually have them in a matching paperback-edition set.

17. Winona's Pony Cart - Maud Hart Lovelace: this is a rather beat-up ex-library copy from the 50s, spine repaired with tape so that the title & details are rewritten by hand, but I simply could not say no to famous author I loved as a kid AND a pony book! This is definitely for younger readers and heavily illustrated; I may not keep it now that I see it's been reprinted as recently as the 2000s, but it was fun to grab in the moment.

18. Miss Gail (aka our poor hella warped book) - Helen Markley Miller: I read Beloved Monster a couple of years ago, instant 5-star favorite, and when I looked at her backlist all I remember is that everything sounded good, so I didn't stop for a second to even look up what this was about. But apparently it's about a "pampered, cared-for city girl" who has nowhere to go when her parents die, except to a "newly booming gold-mining town in Idaho," where she starts off working in a boarding house and ends up becoming the first appointed teacher in the town?

P.S. I have a bonus story, which is about the little boy of 5 or 6 who was intently looking at an insect book full of photos, and stopped to announce to his mom, "Look at the cute spider!" After she agreed it was cute, he immediately turned to me and showed it off to me as well. He just had to spread the arachnid joy, lol.

I was going to go to my 2nd book sale today, but sadly, I stayed up too late excitedly getting the first photo post out, and between that and my cumulative exhaustion of the week, 8 hours of sleep was not enough. I didn't actually wake up until 11, and then I had a headache, and still had to wash my hair before I could go out, so ultimately I just stayed in and read all day (not any of my new books. but it was still super fun).

But that's okay. Still plenty of sales to try and get to later in the month. :) Mostly ones I won't have to drive quite so far to, too.

Thoughts on the media my f/os are from!

The MCU kinda sucks these days. The last good thing they put out was GotG Vol. 3, and you know that was all Gunn. Granted, the series's highs are still very high—Iron Man, Avengers 1, all the Captain America movies, Thor 1, Thor Ragnarok, the Guardians trilogy—and there is occasionally some good. And of course I have a soft spot for the Hawkeye tv show. It was good!

The Legend of Zelda is still one of my fave series, and while I did enjoy Tears of the Kingdom on initial playthrough...man, this game sucks. And not even in a bad game way; it's just so derivative. Which like, yeah, sequel literally built off the back of BotW, but there's no innovation. It has all the issues BotW had, but worse. Like, I'm biased of course, but Purah's redesign is legit one of the best things about the game. Like, it's not bad, I like it, but man...and the story! Jeez, what a waste of time...

ENA is weird cause like, I knew about, then my friend showed me it, and I thought it was neat. Still a cool idea and such. It's just I kinda joined when the "original" Ena was ending and stuff with DreamBBQ was starting. My pref is still towards OG Ena, but I'm excited to see where Joel G takes things.

I have an interesting relationship with Sonic the Hedgehog; I don't play his games too often, but I love the lore, and side material like the comics and shows. Sonic Lost World is not a game I played, but I heard negative things about. Basically a Mario Galaxy clone...but Mario Galaxy is good, no? Considered by many one of the best games of all time? I dunno. The main thing is the Deadly Six...like I love Zeena, naturally, but the others. Eh...neutral. There's a reason my sona is Mobian and not zeti lol.

I was originally gonna watch the One Piece anime, but I eventually decided to go with the manga cause I heard it was paced better, plus I always wanted to read manga. Overall, I like it! It's very good. Simple at points, yet powerful too. I just wish Oda was a lil less horny, or at least reeled back the likes of Sanji and Brook. And drew women differently. And fixed Usopp's design. Yeh. Aside from that, it's good.

I haven't played Overwatch! I just think Sombra and D. Va are pretty. Mei, too. And Venture is kinda snazzy. It looks fine. Blizzard sucks but you knew that.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was my first real anime (outside of like the Pokemon anime), and it was good! David Productions really nailed the art style and colors, especially the color choices! Might check out the manga some day, but very excited for Part 7 to be animated!

Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is the perfect show to watch if you're a Marvel fan and fed up with the MCU. Creative, striking, and actually progressive when Disney isn't banning episodes like the morons they are. I need to watch a few more episodes, but the show is VERY good. Track down that banned one if ya can, it is WORTH it!

I've been a fan of Five Nights at Freddy's since I was a wee lad...never played an entry lol. Yeh I was more into the lore with MatPat, Dawko, 8-Bit Ryan, Razzbowski, those guys. It was fun! I still enjoy it but it def fell to the back burner. The movie was good, prob gonna see the sequel.

For the record I would totally give Danganronpa a chance, but ugh I just cannot do visual novels. There's just not enough "game" for me, if ya get me. No shade to people who do enjoy em, more power to ya. Just not for me. From the gameplay of 1, 2 and V3 I've seen...seems okay. Outdated at parts, and kinda on the nose with its 'hope v despair' theme, but each seems a solid mystery with a colorful cast.

I was late on the train for Kid Icarus: Uprising, but damn when I hoped on, did NOT regret it. Some of the greatest writing, voice acting, voice direction, story, and characters yet to be put to a single Nintendo game! The greatest come back for ANY Nintendo franchise! Gameplay is kinda standard but plays well. A sequel would be nice, but honestly a port to the Switch would be lovely as well.

For five bucks, Pseudoregalia is a steal. N64/PS1-looking 3D metroidvania with great music and solid controls. Plus the main character is my wife. I've been meaning to finish it, but I've been busy...will one day tho!

Indigo Park is another game I haven't played, BUT I did watch MarKatoto play through all of chapter 1, so that counts right? Anyways, cute looking game. Charming. Nice atmosphere. It doesn't feel like it's trying to crib FNAF's style, which is to its benefit. I have high hopes for the game moving forward, especially when compared to slop like BanBan, yuck.

The Mario + Rabbids games, both Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope, are the most not-me games I ended up likely. XCOM-esque real time strategy where Mario crosses over with Ubisoft's Rabbids? But it works! I still need to play the DLCs all the way through, but again...busy! Maybe some day...

The Wild Robot truly is a triumph. A phenomenal film with gorgeous animation, amazing voice work, a simple yet effective story, and just an air of coziness to it. It's a nice film. Can Chris Sanders just direct every movie from now on?

I got into Doki Doki Literature Club when mascot horrors were in their peak. Ya know, Hello Neighbor, Bendy, Tattletail, that stuff. Again, like FNAF and Indigo Park, I never played it myself, but seen it played enough to know it well. Maybe it doesn't have the best presentation or execution, but I still feel it's effective at what it's trying to do, all while still having a lovely cast of characters and a very cute art style. Would check out DDLC+, but again...visual novels.

Pokémon...ugh. What a franchise. Most profitable franchise in the world, backed by one of the most beloved and successful gaming companies of all time, all to releases, well...Scarlet & Violet on release day. Gen 7 was the last game I considered good, and maybe I'm biased. Last game you could have every mon in. At the very least, I still love the series for its ideas and designs, and I am looking forward to Legends Z-A. Legends Arceus was surprisingly good, so with how long Z-A is taking, not to mention FINALLY being the long coveted third Kalos game, I'm hopeful.

Idk if you’re taking requests but I’ve had this angst idea for some time now

You and Leona are dating, you’re friends with malleus but you don’t hang out with him often because you don’t want to conflicts.

You start to notice becoming more distant and sometimes he even become a little cold towards you, even in bed, but what confuses you the most is that randomly he would be all lovely dovey while being intimate. One day he confesses to you that he has been unfaithful and that he is getting married to a girl (a lioness), a future queen, that needs a king (because a female taking that place is not seen appropriate) and he tells you that this is what he has been waiting for, but he loves you and he will take you with him once he becomes king. To please wait for him to become someone better for you.

But you don’t like that, you want to be his one and only and you don’t want to share. Plus you don’t think it’s fair to the other girl. So you break up. You start getting closer to malleus and a good friendship develops. One day you see Leona walking on campus with the girl, and malleus feels so bad for you.

Fast forward you marry malleus and you are now the queen of briar. But for some reason there’s a gathering/meeting of all kingdoms. And after so many years you see Leona again.

You can end it however you want 🥺

First off, apologies for taking so long to answer this incredible ask. I kept telling myself I would answer it as soon as I finished my blindfolded Malleus fic, but it ended up taking me way longer than I anticipated to finish that lengthy endeavor.

Second off, I saw this message at like 1 something AM Thursday night last week and I was SO EXHILARATED that it ruined my sleep (no regrets).

Like, this message was TRULY ENLIGHTENING and I am still giddy right now as I type this becAUSE I FEEL LIKE WE HAVE THE SAME DAMN IDEA!?!?!? Like ESPECIALLY the paragraph about Leona and the Lioness crown Princess—I ALREADY have an OC for that role that I use in my daydreams when I'm feeling extra angsty.

The best part is, your idea is more elaborate and complete than my initial idea. If this were a business, I'd hire you as a c-suite level employee. I am beyond grateful for this ask—thank you so much for taking the time to send me such an elaborate request! Ever since 1989 TV came out, I have been obsessed with Is It Over Now? and I've been HAUNTED by MalleLeo angst thoughts every time I listen to it.

And, I just feel like, SO CONFIDENT and SECURE in this idea now thanks to your ask. I am BUZZING with excitement to write this. This is probably going to be like, THE angst fic of my fanfic career. Since these two are my faves I just have tons of gut-wrenching angst ideas swirling around my head, especially around this Leona marriage topic.

Just a warning though, this is gonna be sooooo0o0o0o long. I have an outdated WIP list, and many others unaccounted for. This is just a selection of stuff I could see myself posting or editing/retooling to write something new. I love talking about my WIPs, about as much as I hate being perceived because they are not remotely interesting. (I also love knowing which ones people are interested in! I have an incentive to work on them!) (Instead of snippets, part of my feedback loop is sending actual rough drafts to get a sense of whether it's worth working on more.)

Multichapters, different levels of completion.

S5 Pregnancy AU. My main WIP. Can you believe I’ve had this idea for a year… almost to the day? I’ve been stuck since November bc I don’t know how I want this one to end, beyond a birth. (As I’ve mentioned in the past, I feel like this has legs to become a fluffy universe. I have ideas! Timelines!) Gist of it: CJ gets pregnant circa Zooey's kidnapping. How does it change S5? It's less angsty than you think.

Campaign bars, aka campaign conversations sometimes happened at bars in the 1998 campaign. Fun stuff. I need to pick it right back.

What Once Was Ours or the IM AU (2021), aka IM ends with a breakup. Not a WIP. Not a UFO. A secret third thing. (“Finished” but not edited, and I’m doubtful people would be interested. Probably bc of some bittersweet ~memories~ attached to it. I mean, I shared a third of it to discord and people couldn’t care less, at least after a while. Now, better IM AUs are being posted these days; I'm not in a rush.) 33 chapters. 150k words. I do reread it every once in a while, and I cannot put it down. But its 'age' takes me aback. If things had been different, I'd have posted this in H2 2021/Q1 2022 (or even the planned Q2-3 2021). But alas.

The “Almost Ready, question mark” Category

Another SVD prompt meme claim: what if CJ has the crush first. The thing is, I tend to write her as having a relatively obvious crush on him at first until something makes her wise up. So this is just some ridiculous, post-first-meeting thoughts. Most of it was written in one sitting! It kinda fits with something in the campaign bars fic, too.

Post birth, hospital story: A couple of hours after their bb girl is born. Pure fluff. Recently reworked it to make it less wordy. Still failed, but it’s better focused now.

Many ficlets – the few I did post on Tumblr that haven’t been posted to the story I’m collecting them in, plus a couple more. I'm thinking the ice skating one, Jan 22, a few post-eps I wrote last year, etc.

Ambitious Projects I don't think are happening right away (or ever), but probably have a detailed outline somewhere

Danny is back a bit earlier on s7. Toby leaks (or tries to leak? I always wavered) the shuttle to him, as he and CJ are getting closer.

You’ve got mail AU. This outline had two ways the climax could go. I had fun.

Epistolary collab (?) fic. Probably an X + 1 fic. The only one with nothing written; don’t rule out writing it individually at some point.

And because this is so long already (but not as long as it could be)… A few more under the cut – more "I just want to make sure I like them" and "this meme reminded me I meant to pick those back up." And they are still not all. (How do you summarize seven years of writing?? I've only posted 20-something of them, lol.)

Haunted by the Notion, 2007 edition. My beta Ruth suggested this when she edited the other story, and I wrote it around then. It’s another Christmas dinner at Filomena, and, eight years later, things are different. I feel like it hits expected beats, and is just missing some oomph. Maybe. (As much as I do like it, half tempted to make it 2009. Or later.)

Heaven’s here…: A interrupted proposal. I’ve written many proposals over the years, and I love toying with different ideas and setups. Danny takes the lead here, but I’ve been intrigued by the idea of having CJ do the final twist.

5 to 6 am 'me' time. Another story inspired by last year’s rewatch that I wrote right at the start of it (so Jan 2023?). It has five short parts with five different years of what CJ describes in the pilot as her “me time.” This is one when I think one per year would be fun, but I don’t want to repeat myself.

One bed, “sexy” edition. An AU to a sort of AU (one of the drabbles from this summer) and… it's what it says on the tin. The world does not need to read my attempts at smut. If I didn’t put it in the previous category, it’s because I am not sure that I want to post it. (All the previous attempts are locked somewhere; unfortunately, someone loves this one and noticed when I tried to do that, lol.)

First baby kick: I remember writing this while in grad school (so, late 2017? First half of 2018) but I lost it, along other fic, when my laptop had to be reset because I used Bear to write back then, but didn’t have sync across devices. I rewrote it, and I feel like it's not the same, but still. It's sweet! Includes: Danny talking to the baby, domestic fluff, and… baby kicks!

Mosaic broken hearts: CJ, circa S4, jealousy. Prompted by a former fandom friend, back in my productive era (first half of 2021; before that friend just ghosted me.)

I can’t believe I captured your heart (pancake breakfast, three words and eight letters). For a while there, I edited it so much but then I fell off. iirc, it was part of some morning-related prompts I saw around that I tried to fulfill in 2018? 2019? And they had like internal progression. But this one was the best of the 3-4, and I kept tweaking it.

Green light of forgiveness (IM-ish) — there are many other IM/IM-Tomorrow snippets I’ve written over the years. I’m not sure if this one makes much sense, but I liked it enough.

Distance — I recall liking this one! Might have to bump it up. CJ is in Africa, Danny is at the Farm and sulking because they left off on some sort of argument. There is some Danny-Abbey friendship goodness here. I even have a second file that is “Distance - shorter version (it’s not)”

Danny writes fiction, shows it to CJ during her pregnancy and she’s into it. Technically written. I would probably try to take another stab at it. Third time might be the charm?

San Andreo phone call/fallout from ID. I just had the idea of CJ reaching out once things calm down. This is one of those fics I’ve written a version of every year or so, but I think there was one I liked quite a bit.

Terrible taste in men — a run-in with an OC ex of CJ. It was so dumb.

Fka Impatience - actually beta’d three years ago (by that fandom friend I've mentioned twice before… actually, three times) and “done”. I just think I’d change so much about it these days. It started being something else but ended up being a CJ-Toby friendship story in which they have lunch and catch up. But I would want to rewrite most of it now, and not just because it’s from like… 2019 (but finished in 2021).

I forgot this one initially! he's passing by, rare as the comet in my sky - 2? 3? times CJ thinks she sees Danny somewhere, and one time she does. (Which tried to work in the 'I remember shunning you' line.) I even wrote some sort of sequel later! Probably useless.

I said I would post a lightning round with fics that are either also done but not ready for me to mention them, or just… not done at all. The length of this post and how much I've spent on it is embarrassing. To give a general overview: in line with the nonsense I've been mentioning, includes phone calls at the end of S7, also a few friendship-focused fics around that time, too; present-day stuff; anniversaries; Hollis fundraisers; weddings; many ficlets, introspective thoughts, a “yes day” fic that's super sweet but needs better dares, the third memoir idea (the original one!!!!) that I had three years ago… And those are mostly the ones I had preselected, lol.

Claiming Liv for BPD rep. With the mood and Personality swings (+ related interpersonal problems) I feel very seen :)

This might me just my Aro vision making it hard to see, but I don’t get MajorxLiv. Like with all the other pairs, there’s a path there or they shared interests and worked their way closer. But with these two we’re just told that they are meant for each other because ??? , but everytime they are together it’s just…why?

Liv has had better chemistry with every single one of her dead Boyfriends and she deserves better

Watching Blaine go from the main villain to that annoying bastard you can’t get rid of makes me so proud! I love characters like that! He’s the best, I wish him to never achieve his dreams! :D

On that note, the series has consistently fun villains. Good Job!

Big fan of the Meal montages that started with Season 2. And with how the brains keep their colour and consistency unless turned into mush. As brains are known to be x)

!! You weren’t lying when you said you were speed-running! I was worried you might not be able to make it through the show before the end of June but you’re making headway!

- Oh, I love that (re: Liv BPD rep) – I never thought about it before but that is really interesting to explore! Tbh I often think of the zombism as a metaphor, e.g. Liv’s early zombism as a parallel to the PTSD symptoms that someone would experience after the boat party. And some specific brains having her adopt different neuro-types (e.g. the “hot mess brain” really struck a chord with me as someone with ADHD) – and the thing is, BPD would also make a lot of sense, especially with the age of onset often being in someone's 20s. Plus, it makes me even think in literal terms and not just metaphorical ones – Liv always seems to be more strongly affected by the brains than most other zombies on the show and I think it would have been interesting to explore how zombism and related brain-effects would interact with different mental health conditions and neurotypes. (The thing is, I have at least the working theory that the underlying personality as well as the willingness to engage with the new personality affects how and how strongly zombies are affected. A big example for me is Liv having a vision the very moment she ate one of Lowell's orphan brains while he could surpress it. Or in Conspiracy Weary, when Liv, Blaine and Don E are on the same brain and Liv does stuff like putting gum on her friends' webcams and wants to protect them, Don E likes to talk about celebrities (we see him do that on other occasions like with Christina Ricci or Gwyneth Paltrow) and Blaine is very opinionated on Tupac and the symbolism of Makaveli (music being a big deal to him)

-- The thing is, I think MajorxLiv might just be one of the most contentious topics in the fandom. I know people who really love them together and the tragedy and drama and the doomed-lover-ness of it all and I know others argue more from the point that such a major (ha!) point of the show is deconstructing the seemingly perfect life Liv had at the beginning of the show and he realisation that it wasn’t perfect at all and that she mostly lived for the expectations of others and didn't really have anything that mattered to her. And that part of that should have been realising that Major and her weren’t meant to be married-two-kids-picket fence and that they should have just embraced being friends and that it defeats the narrative. I also think it might be because they’re one of the only couples we don’t see originally falling in love – with Peyton and Ravi and Clive and Dale we see what attracted them to each other in the first place and watch their relationships develop (though I must say that I have more fun with Clive/Dale than with Peyton/Ravi but that’s no hate on the latter, I just enjoy the dynamic between Clive and Dale more). But Liv and Major were a thing from the beginning and you can tell that the writers very much prioritised them over other relationships these two had (rip Nathalie especially, you deserved so much better) which I alo think leads to some frustration. Personally, I don't really feel that strongly about it either way but I wish there were some aspects that they had gotten into more. Also, I wish they had prioritised Liv dealing with the deaths of so many of her boyfriends more?? Dude, the trauma of that. The guilt!

--- REAL. It goes from Blaine being a child-butchering monster to Blaine and Don E being the Pinky and the Brain of zombism (and also having the main-gang on speed dial). I like that they didn’t even go the route of redeeming Blaine or making him less evil. He actually continues to do things just as evil (and worse) than what he did in season 1. But even the morgue gang doesn’t really prioritise stopping or killing him anymore. I bet they run into each other in supermarkets or at the bank sometimes lmao.

I think it’s partially because he’s the long-distance runner of iZombie villains – most of the other baddies contain their evil to one season, maybe one-and-a-half. So it’s much easier to keep track of where they wronged you. With Blaine, the list is so long, it’s really hard to keep track of it all. Plus, a lot of his schemes don’t even directly affect the gang or they never learn about them. The show just gives like…a good amount of screen-times to tuning in to Shady Plots or the Scratching Post to show us what stupid schemes these two clowns are up to. (Also, I like that David Anders said that Blaine actually really likes the morgue squad and spending time with them. Those are his best friends who hate him <3)

----I also kind of dig that the meal montages really only started happening with season 2. Because early on, Liv’s zombie meals being more depressing (the instant noodles she does in the pilot for example) makes a lot of sense because she still feels defeated and lost being a zombie. But later on, she starts having fun with it! And I think it goes well with stuff like her refusing to tan or dye or putting on a scratchy wig – she really starts owning being a zombie and the fun meals are part of it!! I love that for her!

----- iZombie drinking game: Always taking a sip when there’s a silly pun somewhere. (doctors do not recommend this)

------- They put so much energy and thought and screen-time into their non-primary cast! Jimmy! Vampire Steve! Enzo! Johnny Frost! They’re just like: “here’s another perplexing little guy. We will not elaborate.”

--------- These are all fun! I always find it kind of hard to say which one of my favourite episodes are but I also really like The Whopper for all the drama happening there and Conspiracy Weary – Oh, and in season 4 you have Brainless in Seattle and Goon Struck coming up which I also really love (you might already be there, even. Not to spoil but: Major and Don E on a roadtrip! That was fun.). And in season 5 The Scratchmaker and the noir episode are really fun!

From Two Tangled sisters:

The final scene in Chapter 50: The Wishing Fountain (Part 4/5: An Unformed Heart and Unmeasurable Love) from Within the Walls of Corona.

In this arc, Cassandra wished for a normal childhood for her and Rapunzel resulting in them transforming into children. Arianna and Frederic finally get to hold their baby but when Cassandra falls ill they must return the girls to the fountain to return them to their normal age. It's very sad, and I love how it came out.

The third scene in Chapter 7: A Family Frostwork of The Frostwork Festival

This fic is a Holidays fic and this chapter is the day of the holiday. My fave scene specifically is the gift exchange, it's one of few moments that feature Rapunzel, Cass, Arianna, Frederic and Eugene all together, all enjoying themselves. There's bickering, there's love, and Eugene gets his first Frostwork gift in many years which I love.

The first scene in Chapter 30: The Gallows from The Princess, The Pirate and The Prosecutor 

Eugene's nearly executed for a crime he didn't commit and his pov as his taken to the gallows is a really good scene.

They finally get together! And the 'I can do gentle', the 'I want to be with you and I can do a relationship on your terms', the joy these two feels and the relief they feel and... I just love it.

and more... special mentions would be when Cass and Caine fight back to back in Vardaros, Eugene first meeting Amaris, Arianna gently reassuring Eugene on his first night in the castle of how he's a hero, Eugene's nightmare during Bad Luck Charm and the comfort of his friends after, Cassandra's using her magic despite her bad prior experiences to protect her girlfriend in the Great Tree... There are SO MANY scenes from this series I'd love to point at and talk more about but we could go on forever.

From outside Two Tangled Sisters:

From Chapter 1 of Three Thieves the final scene. Cassandra getting Eugene and Lance in trouble and they're proud because she's learning their ways. It's just so sweet.

From Chapter 8 of Always By Your Side. This is the chapter where Arianna babysits Cassandra and Eugene, and the finally scene specifically is my fave, the way Eugene stands up for himself, the way he shows to still be haunted by his past, and the way Cass doesn't understand, showing how those few years difference are huge, they're the reason Eugene remains haunted while Cass has forgotten everything before Captain.

From my fic Empty, the first few scenes depicting Cass' youngest years and how the pain lingered and dragged was very good.

Fourth scene from the end (sorry, too many scenes in this story) from Plus Forts Ensemble. Eugene is dead, Rapunzel is grieving, Cassandra takes responsibility for her actions. I loved the idea and loved how this scene came out!

Clumsy, Messy Disrespectful. The whole thing. It's only got like three scenes, the glass breaking, Eugene and the parents. And I love all three of them. I don't usually write Rapunzel focused fics, far less such an emotional one, yet I love this oneshot. I wouldn't change a thing about it!

From We Can't be Happy Every Day, the fourth scene where Arianna reassure Cap he's doing a good job, despite his fears and despite the fact Cassandra is crying. I love Cap here and I love Arianna too.

From Unfair, the first three scenes. Captain getting injured, Cassandra's feelings about it, her anger, and Captain coming to understand his new normal. I just really like how they came across.

Do you love angst, trashiness and playboys redeemed and suffering for love?

OK, cdrama current landscape is like a desert after a nuclear strike but that doesn’t mean I cannot dig into the past when CCP was less interested in micromanaging entertainment unless it actually tried to get into politics (did you know that at one point there was a period drama! airing on TV! on which the leading role of Empress Cixi was played by a Japanese actress! And the world did not end! It’s wild how far c-ent has come and not in a good way; that frog has been boiling for a long time.)

Anyway, I present to you Four Women Conflict/Love Tribulations, a drama from 2011 starring Ady An, a huge fave, as a woman with the worst luck ever, Feng Shao Feng as a playboy who meets her because he’s being paid to seduce her but falls desperately for real, and her first love played by Mickey He. Taking place in the early years of the 20th century, misery for all, but so good!

Meet our heroine, as beautiful as she’s tormented. In ep 1 alone: her newly widowed stepmother sold her barely pubescent self into a brothel. But it’s OK because her childhood love rescued her and burned her stepmom to a crisp. A fast forward and she's a maid in some house and it doesn't look too horrific, so we'll see. Except the husband fancies her and the wife's reaction is "you can do anything you like outside but don't seduce the maids inside the house." Charming. Except he's still after her so she's ordered to be whipped by the jealous wife. Who then marries her off to some ugly moron with zero willpower or brain.  It gets better as she gets raped by her former master on her wedding night (who bullies her husband into letting him). And the raping thing turns into a systemic thing. This is all in ep 1,none of it would be allowed now. I am not saying abuse is a great thing but this all a hell of a lot more realistic fate for a beautiful lower class woman than the dim sugar confections try to show us nowadays.

When we finally meet the hero, he's having sex with a married woman. While being married himself, and not to her. On the grounds of a Buddhist monastery. Once again none of this would fly nowadays.

Meet heroine’s childhood love and stepmom crisper, played by young and scrumptious Mickey He (sexy demon dad in L&R). On brand, when we first meet heroine's childhood love as an adult, he's rescuing a bunch of women who've been captured by slavers.

By any laws of sanity, I should be shipping heroine with her childhood love and I do, madly, but I ship her with the hero also! I have no idea why but  maybe because even though I know in real life, a playboy will just give you a bad case of STDs and will never reform, it's so satisfying to watch the whole 'playboy redeemed by/suffering for/madly in love' scenario on screen. Plus, he's about the only character who appears to have an fun in this, and God knows, poor heroine needs someone who can show her some fun and also knows what he's doing in bed, too.

And here is where the plot gets going. We see playboy spread his love/STDs to another lady, a very rich one this time. After playboy and a rich banker lady finish banging, they have the following convo as interpreted by me:

Playboy: So, about that loan for my business? I mean, if you need more persuading, I can go all night. Friend-with-benefits/his moneylender: OK, loan. Fine. You get the loan the day you seduce Du Lanyun. Playboy: Am I supposed to know who she is? And since when are you pimping for me? Do you want a threesome or something? Are you into girl-on-girl action? Where do I sign up? Friend-with-benefits: Look, you are the only guy with a spoken part who's not in love with Ady An. We must remedy this pronto or else the universe will be destroyed. Also, my best friend's husband is cheating on my friend with her. Yeah, Lanyun has no interest in the guy, who apparently raped her and made her life hell, but sure, let's lash out at the victim. Playboy: I feel the sudden need of meeting a beautiful and pure woman who will redeem me and put me through hell in the name of love. Otherwise, where will this drama be? Friend-with-benefits: I promise I won't be jealous. This isn't an ironic foreshadowing, no siree. Oh, and her first love is Mickey He. Playboy: It's fun to see in how many dramas I can steal a woman's heart from Mickey He. I am in! Friend-with-benefits: And speaking of "in"...the bed is right there and I was never able to resist going for seconds. Playboy: If you close your eyes, I'll take you to heaven (actual quote, guys! Well, I suppose it's good to have self-confidence).

293,965 - respectable, I think. An average of 24,497 words per work.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Sherlock, Good Omens, James Bond, La Casa de Papel/Money Heist. I'm by far the most prolific for Sherlock. Would like to do some more LCDP one day, maybe even in Spanish. And I feel some Bridgerton (specifically Kanthony) might be inevitable one day.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

When It Rains - aka my completed Mystrade epic, 98,000+ words.

A Christmas Thief - my LCDP Raquel/Sergio advent calendar, based on the Netflix A Christmas Prince film. It is SILLY (affectionate). (41,000+ words)

Major Revisions - an enemies-to-lovers, academia AU for my eternal faves (it's Mystrade). Lots of silly Christmassy tropes here too. (27,000+ words)

5. Do you respond to comments?

I do! I don't always get to them immediately, particularly when real life is busy, but I will get back to everyone, at some point. And I always read them, and appreciate them.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

By an absolute country mile, it's Ashes, from my old FF.net account. Because that site doesn't have AO3's comprehensive tagging, let me add the warnings here: major character death, graphic drug use.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think A Christmas Thief/Major Revisions/Plan Normandy are all pretty soppy by the end. But most of my recent fics have happy endings, even if I enjoy the anguish in the middle.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I haven't. I got one kind of negative comment in a bookmark, but I understand that wasn't meant for me and, after I'd got over the initial upset, I realised they weren't actually wrong anyway.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Occasionally, as part of longer stories. It's usually not particularly graphic - the longest and most detailed is Chapter 5 of Fire Dancing with Snow, if you want to get an idea.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Not yet! Maybe one day.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I hope not!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I haven't, I don't think.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Also no: I think I could, if we agreed the overall plot together and then wrote sections solo (and gave feedback). But I couldn't sit down with someone and discuss a fic line by line.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

It had to be Mystrade. I'm not always fixated on them, the fixation ebbs and flows, but they are the ship that has endured longest in my mind.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I don't think there's a fic I want to finish that I doubt I will. There's at least one I don't want to finish because I dislike it (In My Blood I Felt Bubbles Burst, sorry), but if I want to finish it, then I'll finish it (unless I change my mind). It might just take me a long time.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I like metaphors, and kind of poetic description (particularly of feelings). I do, of course, need to be careful not to overdo it, but I think I often do hit the right note, and am able to describe complex feelings in quite original ways.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Over-writing, I think. I'm very wordy, and I can get stuck in minutae that not a single person (including me) cares about. I'm getting better at recognising when it's happening, but it's still definitely a weakness. Plus, planning out a bit elaborate plot, but then leaving it too long between chapters so I have to re-read absolutely everything to avoid plot holes.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I wouldn't write dialogue in another language in my English fics, unless I had help from a native speaker, as otherwise the level would be too far below my English level. But I've written a few bits and pieces in Spanish, and I'd like to continue improving my proficiency there.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Doctor Who! Picture this: I am 13, and I am heartbroken after Doomsday. I decide I'm going to fix it.

20. Favourite fic you've written?

I'm going to go When It Rains, I think. This might be because it's got a lot of positive attention and that contributes to my warm feelings about it, but I do re-read parts of it sometimes, and it very definitely falls into the 'this is exactly what I want to read' camp, which I think is important in your own fics.

I don’t really understand this voting thing on OT. Kiki was top 3 last week for favorite I think and she has been in the past a lot too. She has a lot of followers on socials too. But Lucas is leading in a lot of the polls. Idk if those polls usually reflect the actual results or not. I assume they do?

Who do you think will be in the final and predictions for winner and other placements?

The polls in directoot and otactualidad on instagram are usually very accurate, and so far he's winning, though the gap seems to be becoming smaller. The reason Chiara is losing in the polls even though she has twice as many followers on instagram and nearly twice as many monthly listeners on instagram? Easy, 1) most of Naiara and Paul's fans are voting for Lucas 2) the dumb hate campaigns Chiara has unfortunely been through; a lot of locals aren't voting for her 3) that, minus Ruslana's and part of Bea's individual fandoms, the supposed fans of Juanjo and Martin (Chiara's friends, mind you) hate Chiara and they are trying to vote her out, which strategically it's stupid as fuck considering that Lucas is tied in popularity polls with Martin and could easily kick him out in the finals if he stayed. Same with Naiara fans, if Lucas stays, Lucas' fans will vote for him and Naiara will lose votes and won't win the contest, because according to the polls, the winner right now could be either Naiara or Ruslana, because they're both tied. That could change, though. If Chiara is expelled and doesn't make it to the finals, all her fandom's votes would definitely go to Ruslana, which really isn't good for Naiara either.

Now, do I think Chiara will for sure be expelled this week? No, because, for example, the gap yesterday was of 45%-55% in otactualidad and now it's 50%-50% or so I believe; plus, Directoot has posted good things about Chiara today, and Directoot has a lot of influence on the casual fans. We still have a lot of time until Monday and a lot of things can change in a week; look, for example, Cris started off losing 30%-70% and he ended up losing 48%-52% and almost kicking out BEA of all people. Salma started off tied and even winning against Alex and in a week she was gone with like 39%-61%. And listen, I watched OT2017. I saw Ana Guerra stay with 50,3% of the votes against Agoney after the most stressful week of my life. After that, anything is possible and we're campaigning hard and we still have a few days, so I'm not just gonna give up lmao. Keep voting and this could still change.

Now, if Chiara stays, I predict that she'd most likely make it to the finals and a 4th place for her, or a 3rd place maybe due to how big her fandom is, and both Naiara and Ruslana could end up either 1st or 2nd place. Juanjo is definitely a finalist but honestly I'm not sure in what position he'd end up, most of all if Martin is a finalist as well because they share a fandom and they'd divide votes. Martin could get his place easily taken by Lucas if he stays (which is why his fandom is dumb to vote to save him). Paul is definitely a finalist and a possible top 3 or 4 as of now, and Bea is in the air because even though she is one of the most talented people of the edition, her fandom is small compared to the others; if she's not chosen by the teachers to be a finalist, Chiara and Ruslana's fans would definitely vote her so she could be one UNLESS the one also fighting for the spot was Chiara or Ruslana, but you never know with the other fandoms. In any case, what position you end up in the contest doesn't really matter tbh; in fact, a lot of people don't want their faves to he the winner because most times the most successful ones end up being the 2nd place (see: Aitana, Alba Reche or David Bisbal being more famous than Amaia, Famous Oberogo or Rosa López) or even THE FIRST EXPELLED can end up being the most successful (see, Lola Índigo). You never know with this contest; honestly, the ones I see being more successful outside are Chiara, Ruslana, Naiara, Violeta and Paul. The others? Who knows, but in a few years no one will remember some of them; it always happens.

When I tell you that if you were an Italian teen and were watching this anime, YOU FOR SURE HAVE HAD YOUR HEART CRUSHED BUT THIS. CRUSHED. BECAUSE ERIK WAS *EVERYTHING*. Also, there are people who wanted Sana to end up with Ayato and people WHO LIED THROUGH THEIR TEETH. Gods, I remember the huge amounts of feelings this anime caused me because I was more or less the same age as the protagonists, also starting to nurse my first IRL crushes toward another classmate and this anime HIT HARD in the feelings fml.

-TOKYO MEW MEW

I loved this Anime so much as a teen because it was SO BEAUTIFULLY drawn and it was so colorful and adorable (but I don't know why, I found Ichigo to be insufferable. Like, I loved her design, because YES, the design is beautiful, but she as a character was insufferable, and I very much prefered Zakuro and Mint tbh. But I loved the mangaka's sense of fashion for the girls, it was just UGH so prettyyyyyy!!!

-KERORO GUNSO

ok this is probably one of THE MOST ridiculous manga I have ever read, but dear gods, I remember laughing SO MUCH. SO MUCH. I loved the design Keroro and the Platoon had, they were so cute, and Keroro is just SO STUPID but SO ADORABLE, you cannot help but find him endearing (though, poor Dororo, he is trying to keep this freaking squad from sinking lolol), and the story was just overall hilarious. To this day, one of my favourite still <3

-URUSEI YATSURA

MOVE.THE.FUCK.ASIDE. BECAUSE LUM IS MY PRINCESS. LOOK AT HER. JUST LOOK AT HER. SHE IS *EVERYTHING* AND SO MUCH MORE,BUT BOY OH BOY, I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY SHE WENT AFTER ATARU SO MUCH. Each time she gave him an electroshock I was like "YOU GO GIRL. THAT MOFO DOESN'T DESERVE YOU.* But then again, Mendo nor Rei were actually suitable partners for her, despite both of them going after her fml. Probably her best match was Benten, and fml I adored their relationship (the whole Oni vs Gods of Luck thing they had going on was my everything).

-RANMA 1/2

If I had one OTP, that one is Ranma and Akane, because DEAR GODS, I just cannot. The whole premise of this manga is something else entirely, and I will ALWAYS recommend everyone to read it because it's so worth it. Rumiko Takahashi did such a splendid job with the story and the characters (though my fave must be Kodachi and Ryoga. Like, I am sorry, but Ryoga is such an idiot, but such an adorable one, it's impossible not to love him, and Kodachi is THE QUEEN, with the whole rhythmic gymnastic thing she has going on. ADORE. But Happosai I would gladly burn with a torch. I HATED HIM so much. so much fml). Also fun fact, this was probably the first manga I ever bought, when I was 7-8 years old, always courtesy of my grandparents <3

-TOKIMEKI TONIGHT

NGL, Tokimeki Tonight holds a special place in my heart. I didn't discover it until they printed the manga in Italy in 2002, but ever since then it held my heart. I have a huge soft spot for the 80s style of drawing of the manga (70s and 80s Shoujo are just so beautiful, I adore), and Tokimeki Tonight is no exception. Plus, the story is SO CUTE and Ransie's family and their adventure are just so entertaining (I adore her mom and dad: like, a vampire and a she-wolf together? perfection!!!). This is another manga I would warmly recommend because it's just so super cute. Cheesy and humorous, exactly as I love it lolol.

-NANA

This is not a manga. This is not an anime. This is a WHOLE ASS MASTERPIECE. A MASTERPIECE. Gods, Ai Yazawa is the reason I am so conscious about fashion for my ocs, because, if you have read ANY manga she has written and drawn, you know why. Anyway, this story is just a literal wrench to the heart, from beginning to end, and this is without taking into consideration that it's not finished and will more likely remain incomplete😥😥😥 (and dear Gods, Hachi, you are such a freaking idiot, but I love you anyway. But if I ever catch Takumi, that bastard is going to get the snip snip from me. Bastard.)

-BERSERK

I have only one thing to say about Berserk: this manga/anime is TRAUMATIC. Like seriously, Kentaro Miura was not shy in traumatizing his characters and whatnot, but let me tell you something: if you ever want to approach Berserk, read about ALL the trigger warnings, because the story truly dwell in profound dark themes. I usually am able to read manga in one-go, but with Berserk I had to take several pauses because sometimes it was A LOT. That being said, Casca an Guts are my precious babies and deserve ALL THE SAFETY IN THIS WORLD. GRIFFITH, YOU BASTARD, I AM GOING TO TEAR YOUR BALLS AWAY FROM YOU. *starts wailing in a corner.*

-SHAMAN KING

I actually had to thank a dear friend from high school for discovering this manga. I remember we were in the same school but different classes, and she was always reading it, so one day she suggested me to read it and I WAS HOOKED. The whole concept is AMAZING, the story is HILARIOUS (when it's not too busy squashing your heart with absolute glee) and the characters are *perfection*. I honestly adore Rei and Bason (once more, emotionally constipated short king with one hell of a temper), especially Bason in his spirit form. He was adorable lolol.

-OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB

Ok this is another one I ABSOLUTELY recommend because it's downright HILARIOUS, and the drama/comedy/ shoujo thing that is going on is just *chef's kiss*. Tamaki and the Hitachiin twins are SUCH HUGE DORK AND IDIOTS, OMG, but they are so adorable. Though, my man there is Kyouya, the KING IN THE SHADOW. Honestly, if you want something light and hilarious to read, this is PERFECT. And the anime is SO WELL DRAWN. SO WELL DRAWN. I adore.

-SUGAR SUGAR RUNE

THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF THIS MANGA IS JUST SO PURELY ADORABLE. CHOCOLA IS SO CUTE, HER MOTHER CINNAMON IS SO BADASS and fml when I read the manga Glacier was *definitely* my type fml. ALSO, MOYOCO ANNO'S ARTSTYLE IS *FANTASTIC* and I absolutely *adore* the fashion style she has for the EVERYONE. I ADORE.

-OJAMAJO DOREMI

I might be biased, because I used to watch it with my baby sister, so i have many fond memories connected to this, BUT THIS IS PROBABLY THE CUTEST AND MOST ADORABLE ANIME EVER MADE. It's just so cute, the story is adorable, and I absolutely adored Momoko and Onpu, they were my babbus. And the Italian theme songs were ALL SO CATCHY AND BEAUTIFUL. Cristina D'Avena, you will forever be THE SINGER FML.

-VAMPIRE HUNTER D

And nothing. this is THE Dhampir. D is THE MAN. Honestly, if I were to start blabbering about Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, I would spend DAYS going over and over EVERY SINGLE MINUTE DETAIL, because dear Gods, this is Yoshitaka Amano style animated, and for my eyes is a FEAST each time I watch this movie. I just truly can't express into words what it means to me and the influence it had on 13 yo Nemo back then, the way it shaped my love for vampires and gothic atmosphere. Also, D is so freaking handsome, fml, between him and Vincent Valentine I would probably become incoherent lol.

-CLAMP SCHOOL DETECTIVE & MAN OF MANY FACES

I put these two together because the characters and the setting are the same, and I read them in tandem when I was younger, so to me they are kind of indivisible. The chapters in the manga are all self-conclusive, but the stories are just so cute, with the Nokoru, Suoh and Akira helping all "damsels in distress" around CLAMP Institute campus, they are just adorable (and I LIVED for their brief cameos as adults in X-1999. *inserts Leo DiCaprio gif pointing at something* I honestly enjoyed them thoroughly!

And if you are an Italian that grew up in the late 80s/early 90s watching TV, you'll find a crapton of those cartoons that were aired on Bim Bum Bam (so, Italia 1, Canale 5 and Rete 4 lolol) and on the smaller television channels (especially the one from the 80s ).

It's going to be A LONG ONE, probably divided in a couple of reblogs, because I am not kidding you all, I DEVOURED manga and anime when I was a child/teen lolol

When I say that this story shaped me as a person, I am not exaggerating. I always LOVED reading shoujos, but I never felt like I could relate to any of the heroines. I felt like I was never sweet enough, or feminine enough. Then, Oscar François de Jarjayes came along and dear gods, it was EVERYTHING my heart desired. I wanted to be her so badly: brave, strong, just and never afraid to be who I am. This story is my everything.

(the way Seishiro and Subaru's story had me BY THE THROAT even as a teen,I just cannot begin to explain. Gods, it was so twisted, but so SO GOOD. Seishiro and Subaru were just MY EVERYTHING. And do not let me start with Kakyou and Hotaru, my heart was WRENCHED. tbh, it would be fair to say that everything connected to the Sumeragi just grips my heart , especially after reading Tokyo Babylon. Gah, my heart).

-SLAYERS

RINA WAS MY EVERYTHING. Poweful, Sassy, independent, reckless and with a short temper??? like HELLO?? I connected to her so much fml (and child me shipperd her hard with Zelgadis, fml.). The Italian Theme song was just SO BEAUTIFUL, it was one of the many reasons I adored this anime so much.

-ROBIN HOOD

*takes deep breath* ok. I have a lot to unpack on this because I have this CLEAR core memory from when I was still in preschool and was watching this anime at my grandparents' home and I was just lost for Robin. COMPLETELY lost, and while I am known to have a penchant for being rather theatrical, now I am totally serious. fml this cartoon had such a huge influence on me, that I am still feeling it to this day, even in the way I design characters (like, I never realized how much Maid Marian actually resembled Dottie dear gods.)

- MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM WING

I usually do not care much for the Mecha genre tbh, it was never my favourite, but Mobile Suit was one of the few that I actually loved. And this was the Anime that made me go "yes, I love men with long hair fml (Duo, you bastard, I had such a huge crush on you. So yes, I am looking at you) and I love magnificent bastards (Treize I hate that I love you so much)", so I already knew there was no going back lol).

-SAILOR MOON

I talked extensively yesterday about HOW MUCH I love Sailor Moon, but dear gods let me reiterate. Sailor Moon IS my childhood. The amount of time I played pretend in school with my group of friends cannot even start to be counted. Adore. just ADORE.

(I am still trying to recover from THE HUGE HEADACHE this freaking manga caused me, with all the cross referencing and whatnot, but fml I was *living* for all the characters from Clamp´s previous work being included everywhere. It was amazing, I adored it so much).

I WANTED TO BE UMI SO BADLY. SO BADLY. BLUE HAIRED HEROINE, ELEGANT, CONNECTED TO DRAGONS, WITH ONE HECK OF A RAPIER AS SWORD?? WHY YES. YES. And Emeraude, oh gods, the way I loved Emeraude and Zagart's story. Just let me sob in silenceeeee).

What can I say about this, aside from the fact that this was my descent into the Visual Gothic Genre?? It had everything! fucked up story-lines (Victorian Gothic literature was filled up with that), the AMAZING pencil of Kaori Yuki, and Cain. ESPECIALLY CAIN.

(Z/GT, you name it. Mandatory watch with my lil bro, as soon as I got back home followed, of course, by a fight between me and him because we couldn't agree on who was stronger, Vegeta or Goku - and I still stand by my man Vegeta, idc. Also, Freezer's saga lasted FOREVER. A WHOLE SUMMER OF WATCHING IT, AND IT WAS NEVER ENDING.).

this is THE MANGA. The one that, alongside The Crow caused me and my husband to meet and fall in love. We were both following Shippuuden as it just came out and was airing in Japan, and my hubby had a Sasuke fpf. Aside from this though, I just love Kishimoto's work so much fml.

- LITTLE POLLON

A whole ass anime about the daughter of Apollo, busy trying to prove herself a Goddess and making SO MUCH CHAOS?? My cup of tea as a child (I was probably 4-5 when I watched it) and my own personal gateway to Greek Mythology lololol

-WOLF'S RAIN

DO NOT SPEAK TO ME ABOUT THIS ANIME, I AM STILL CRYING THINKING ABOUT IT, DEAR GODS. THIS ANIME FUCKED ME UP IN SO MANY WAYS, I CANNOT EVEN START TO COUNT THEM. FML. But dear gods, the way I adored it and tickled all my wolf spot in the brain. BEAUTIFUL.

-GALAXY EXPRESS 999

I have the fondest memories of this anime, because I used to watch it with my grandpa who actually happend to be a train conductor. He always made sure to record it on the VHS when he had shifts where he would not be able to be home and watch it with me, so this has anime has so many memories conneced to it. Also, I loved Maetel, she alway looked so elegant to me (infact, I had half an idea of drawing Dottie as her for halloween, but didn't have the time lolol). Hilariously, this anime would subsequently be the one to open the doors for me to Captain Harlock lol.

-INUYASHA

I CANNOT START BLABBERING ABOUT INUYASHA, BECAUSE OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE A 50K ESSAY LONG TO PRESENT HERE. But I remember approaching it after I read Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 (Rumiko Takahashi is a fucking genius, I will take no other opinion on her. She carried this side of the manga industry on her shoulders alone fml), and I fell SO IN LOVE with the Sengoku Era and with the whole youkai mithos that I just tuned on MTV whenever I could just to watch it fml. Also, this cemented my love for the "Magnificent Bastards with long hair" that Gundam Wing started (am looking at you, Naraku, Sesshomaru and Inu-no-Taisho fml) (also no, I don't want to hear about Yashahime. I love the characters design they had for the children, but as far as I am concerned in regards to the story, that thing never existed for me and will never exist).

-SAINT SEIYA

I CAVALIERI!! I CAVALIERI!! I CAVALIERI DELLO ZODIACOOOOOOOOOOOO!! *ahem, sorry. I had to. The Italian opening by Giorgio Vanni is so fucking catching, it alwys put me in such good mood. I adored Lady Isabel but also wanted her to end up with Nettuno, I just couldn't find a freaking compromise lol. AND FML, my heart belonged to Ikki. He was such a spunky, arrogant son of a bitch, I loved him so much. But truth is that I also ADORED Seiya's Italian VA (Ivo De Palma, fml, you magnificent man).

-YU YU HAKUSHO

This was the beginning of my love for short kings who are also emotionally constipated TO THE MAX and a bit of a bastard. AND YES, HIEI, I AM TALKING ABOUT YOU. I was never a great appreciator of Yusuke tbh, but I always shipped him with Botan because they were just SO ADORABLE together. But I was just much more interested in Kuwabara being all over the moon for Yukina and Hiei having to deal with it lololol that was so much fun.

-FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST

BEST. MANGA. AND. ANIME. EVER. I have YET to see to this day a story AS GOOD as this one. Like, seriously, the amount of research that Hiromu Arakawa did for this anime is something that needs to be praised. Seriously, if you have never seen this, GO NOW AND DO SO. You are missing out on SO MUCH.This manga shaped me as a writer and artist, tbh: it had such profound impact on me on a creative level (also, Maes Hughes is living a long life with his family after he retired from service, had 3 more children, and they are all living in a cottage by the sea fml).
