Taking that as your offer accepted, you pull up the spare computer chair and sit next to him, watching diligently as he readjusts his hat and fluffs up his hoodie before hopping right back into the world of tempos and samples.

And, honestly? You love it.

You love seeing the shift from your giggly, adorable boyfriend to the focused, goal oriented leader of the fourth generation; the unwavering focus of his eyes on the computer screen in front of him as he drags and drops various sources with abbreviated file names you couldn't even begin to guess.

Once he's edited the background beat to something you think he may be pleased with - for now at least - he slides his midi keyboard over and plays with a few chords, his long, pretty fingers dancing along the ivory-plastic keys.

It's intoxicating, truly, the way he licks his lips as he finds the progression he's looking for, but struggles to navigate where it ends - the soft huff when he plays it over and over so his short term memory won't forget the notes.

Slowly, you've gone from watching him make music to simply watching him, studying him in his element, observing him and the habits you've seen in other settings. You can't help but squeeze your legs together, your breathing subconsciously slowing as you watch his adam's apple bob when he swallows, the column of his neck stretching as his head moves to search the large monitor.

"I can feel your eyes on me, baby girl." He murmurs, a sideways smirk tugging his lips, "You're gonna burn a hole into the side of my face, you know?"

"Can't help it," you breathe softly, eyes now tracing the sharp angle of his jaw, "you look so fucking sexy when you're making music."

A squeak of confusion resonates from him as he makes a change in the file, "Really? I'm just sitting here, what's so sexy about that?"

Usually, if he were truly busy, he'd pass off your fueled comment with a shy chuckle, but a few hours have passed and he'd gotten a lot further than he expected - a short break was definitely earned.

"The way you look at the screen, like nothing else exists around you, and the way your hands move when you know you've got something good going and you can't waste a single second," licking your lips, you tilt your head slightly, "or the way you bite your lip when you're really into whatever thought's running through that genius brain of yours- just makes me wanna..."

Hi, I absolutely love the way you breakdown tswift songs, and I just wanted to clarify something, that's been bothering me. In 7 she mentions this part "we'll move to India forever" at first I was just like yeah, but the more I listened to it, the more I was like what kind of fucking colonist/white mindset is that? You'll never tour to India but you want to move here?? LIKE??? NO!!!! Don't!!! We've had enough of you white people exploiting us without ever actually ever caring for our country.

Because you're right, I always saw the line "we'll move to India forever" in the most charitable light. I remember thinking to myself, when I first heard it, that maybe she just loves India.

It made sense to me- because during the pandemic I fell into reading a BUNCH about India's culture, religion, food, anything. (My interest was mostly a result of linguistic interest into how India has shaped the English Language over time). Despite English only being present in the region due to colonialism, India has had a remarkable impact on shaping the Language itself! I emphasize post-colonial theory in my real job- and while I don't write much on India's relation to English Linguistics, I enjoy reading on the subject. So that's why I find it so interesting- because it really speaks to human ingenuity and perseverance. You know? The linguistic diversity present in India alone is so cool- and I really could talk about it forever.

So, I heard the line, and my first thought was like "yeah, okay maybe she just loves India?"

I think I was being too kind with that initial response.

But dude- she's never even toured in India? Like she just refused to go? She's never once talked about India in a positive light at all. So then why would she write that line? Like she will go to any random country in Europe, go to any random state in the USA, and go to couple of select places in Latin America, but it seems like she outright ignores Southern parts of Asia? Except Singapore- because they gave her a boatload of money, I guess. So, why write that line? Why write all of "Karma" is she has no genuine interest or respect for the people from which that philosophy comes?

In combination with her obvious pro-colonialist imagery in her other work, like the "Wildest Dreams" music video, the line in "Bejeweled" about reclaiming the land, and the latest line in "But Daddy I Love Him" about how she wants to win the West, I now believe her line about moving to India to be pure Orientalism.

Plus, the whole issue with the "Karma" song in which she is denigrating the philosophical concept of Karma and making it seem like nothing more than a shallow idiomatic ideal on revenge.

I think she's just an idiot who wants to mention "India" like it's some fantastical realm far away from "reality" (Eg), to her, the USA, as if India is not a real place with a real history and real culture. This is what I mean when I say she offers India no respect or appreciation- you can't liken a place to a mystical realm removed from reality without removing it from its history, culture, and people.

If the whole line is "Pack your dolls in a sweater/ We'll move to India forever/ Passed down like Folksongs" ("Seven" 2020).

She is intuitively linking the concept of moving to India with that of a childhood fantasy- with the word "dolls"- one childhood fantasy which will be ultimately unfulfilled. Thus, I support the argument that her line about moving to India is only in reference to the fact that it's like an unreal fantasy- worlds away from reality.

In literary theory, we call this process of subjective reality removal, and fetishization of the East as a fantasy realm, Orientalism. Orientalism is the act of creating a fantasy of the East, in this case India, that is often full of stereotypes or predicated solely on the myopic lens of western perspective.

Naturally, this facet of literature was mainly popular during the height of British Colonialism in India- in the 19th century. So why is Taylor Swift negotiating Orientalist attitudes in a song in the year of 2020? WHY! Uh- (because she's a fucking Racist with no respect for anyone who's not White and from USA). I've been blind- I fear.

It's such a rude oversimplification of such a diverse and interesting place- and all of her many nods towards Colonialism are so disgusting - I'm actually pissed off about it.

Anyway- That was my long-winded way of completely agreeing with you. You're right it's a shitty colonialist attitude and she should not be getting away with it.

I know quite a few people think Nic and Jake are only friends but I’m not quite sure about that and here’s why: 

First of all, I know a lot of people are saying that a few people commented under his last post that he was a “twink” but to me all these comments were said in a teasing way, and the term twink is normally used as a denotative descriptive term. He could look gay but not be one, or he could be bisexual. I know he played a queer character before but then again a bunch of actors do even when they’re straight. I don’t want to assume his sexual orientation anyway just because he has many gay friends and likes lana del rey lol, plus we’re just speculating so here’s why I think him and Nic might be more than just friends. 

I’m pretty sure they’ve only met in March this year at the Renegade Nell premiere. We know that Nic was on a 6 month press tour so seeing each other was probably difficult to do. However, they did have some time to hang out in April before she had to go to Australia, and Nic started posting quite a few interesting songs in her stories starting April. I have no idea which songs Jake was sharing during that time, however I do know that on May 18 he shared The Louvre and Nic shared Birds of a Feather. Then on June 2 she shared The Louvre. (We’ll come back to that later).

Nic wears a bucket hat with the words “Popup Bagels”. I know that it’s her hat because she follows the IG page and also owns a different hat with the same words. I know for a fact that on May 14, Jake already had his profile picture with the same bucket hat. I couldn’t tell you when he changed his pfp exactly, but I have a strong feeling that Nic bought this hat when she was in New York at the end of April when they left Australia, and I think Jake was with her in New York. It looks like he could be in a hotel room in his pfp. And it is her hat, not his. 

We first see Nic wearing this hat at the airport coming back from Brasil, May 22. Then funny enough, there were rumors going around that Nic and Luke were in Spain towards the end of May. We know Nic’s stylist was. But guess who else was in Spain? Jake. And guess who is wearing her bucket hat in Spain? Jake, on May 30. You can see that in his stories. 

And who is wearing that bucket hat again, a few days later? Nic, at the airport going to Toronto, on June 2. Why would you share a hat with someone that much? I have no clue if Nic was in Spain but they saw each other quite a lot during the two week break they had before she left for Toronto, that’s for sure. 

Like I said earlier, on June 2, Nic was the one to share the song The Louvre. This song literally means “It’s about new love. How complicated it can be & how infuriating & how perfect it is as well.” All right… 

June 10, if everyone remembers, the interview where Nic fixes Luke’s hair dropped and everyone freaked out. Nic and Luke saw what everyone was saying, and Jake probably did too. That’s when Jake shared the song Pavement Tune by The Frames. On the very same day, Nic shared Redemption/Your Face by The Frames. Yeah, you can like the same music and bands as your friends, but the timing? The lyrics?? It felt like an apology to me. A message. 

Obviously two days later was the premiere and we know Jake was there because he was posting in his stories just like all of their commun friends. Then a few days later, Nic shared a story made by Camilla where you can see someone wearing her famous shirt “Kiss me, I’m Irish and vaccinated”. Jake was the one wearing it and you can hear his voice in the video. Okay, you can let someone borrow your hat I guess… but why are you wearing her shirt?? 

June 25, when Jake posted stories at the park and you can see Nic’s purse. That’s when people knew they were hanging out just the two of them. 

June 30, Nic posted a story with a green flag with "women with perfect breasts" and wished a Happy pride to everyone. Jake didn’t post anything but I have a feeling they were all celebrating together with his/their friends because a few of his friends were sharing stories with similar flags/sky backgrounds. 

July 1, that’s when Jake posted a story at the theatre going to see People, Places & Things. Obviously you can’t see Nic anywhere, but now we know that they were together because someone saw them and shared to DM that they were “getting close”. Listen, getting close could mean anything, but that person called it a date night and didn’t say “she was just hanging out with a man who looked gay” lmao. I would never “get close” with a guy friend nor a gay friend. But that’s just me. 

July 6, Jake posted a story inside her house. Once again, they looked to be hanging out alone at her place this time. Has she ever hung out with a guy friend this much alone before? Beside JVN. 

And finally, the last big sighting we got on July 12. Them at the pub. And I knew way before seeing that photo of them that they were together just because of Jake’s stories. Seems to me that if he’s hanging out with his friends, he doesn’t mind showing them or tagging them. But when he’s with her, you don’t see her. He did accidentally showed her purse once but I don’t think he realized that people would recognize it.  

One last thing: the polaroid. Nic has definitely changed it and I don’t think it’s a photo of her and Luke anymore. And who else loves to take pictures as much as her? Jake. He even had his camera with him at the park. Is it crazy to think they took a photo at one point when they were hanging out and that’s the one she has right now? Maybe. But the way she was holding her phone at the event made it seem like she was trying to hide it like she knew people would try to look at it. She didn’t mind showing her phone at the Taylor Swift concert though. 

Even since Nic and Jake were seen together, they have been reall quiet, especially Nic. I know she must be working right now, but I know I’m not the only one who felt a certain shift, like her social media presence is no longer the same and she no longer shares a lot with the fans. 

Anyway, I don’t know them and we can all have different opinions and I know a lot of people think Jake is too young for her etc but this is my opinion. All I know is they’ve gotten reallll close for two people who have only met this year. 

even if they had met prior to this year I do agree they have hung out quite a bit recently since we had no knowledge of him in her orbit prior to March

i am still not convinced they are anything more than friends whether he is gay, bi or straight

Why I Love Travel Season’s Editing Style:

Okokok- I already made a post stating my love for Travel Season after my first initial watch-through of the first two episodes, but I have more to say. Last night, I could not stop rewatching these episodes. Possibly because I am just over the moon seeing Steven, Andrew, and Adam back in action in a show created 100% by them, and where they are allowed to make it their way- BUT there is another reason I could not stop watching it. All do in part of the editing style.

As a self-taught (and soon to be academically-taught) video editor, my favorite thing when watching digital media is seeing what techniques and styles creators use to convey an overall concept to their videos/shows. Some of the more detail-oriented editing I see in today's climate of internet content comes from Watcher's shows. For instance, Mystery Files with the corkboard graphics. Are You Scared of the hand-drawn art from illustrators Mollie Ong and Rafael Mejia. Dish Granted with the use of circle cutouts and white negative spaces. Weird Wonderful World with its cartoon sound effects and stylistic graphics/music to fit whatever atmosphere the boys are in. Puppet History with the motion graphics being put within the confines of the puppet theatre and just everything that goes into the post-production process of the lore events of that show. I could go on, but I might end up writing a whole novel in the process.

Plus, this is about Travel Season... so let's talk about Travel Season.

I was barely 5 minutes into the first episode when I realized just how different Travel Season stands out against anything Watcher has ever created. The overall vibes of the show are calm, peaceful, comforting, and relaxed. The whole show feels like I am watching an old family home video made in the 90s with a camcorder. This style of content that isn't constantly moving at a fast pace and in your face would not perform well in the YouTube algorithm, and I am glad that Watcher was able to launch their own platform to make shows like Travel Season because gosh, this is the kind of content I miss. Oversaturation and pleasing the algorithm can only go a long way as a creative, trust me.

Anywho- back to editing. I am going to point out just some of my favorite editing details that were showcased in the first two episodes of Travel Season. Starting off with probably my favorite scene from both episodes:

This small clip highlights many of my favorite details of the post-production of Travel Season. The first detail I brought up in my previous post involves The Brick aka the camera. The concept of The Brick ties in with what Meredith, Watcher's Development Coordinator, said in Pod Watcher episode #23 about physical hobbies. Something that we can create in a physical sense that does not belong to a digital realm ala the internet/social media. The idea of having a functional prop with The Brick can tie a whole show aesthetic together, but in this case, The Brick also aids in the post-production allowing the team to make smooth-flowing transitions. What I mean is sometimes, especially with a show like Travel Season where they cover many different locations/activities in one video, finding a perfect, easy-flowing transition can be difficult. Jump cuts can be useful in certain cases to hit a comedic mark or shock the viewer, but that is not the overall vibe of Travel Season. The pictures taken on The Brick from their work tripe an easily organized B-roll for harder transition points and simple things such as finding Seoul provide space for much-needed voiceovers for context.

Another editing point that is provided in this clip is the audio. Watcher has never missed the mark regarding audio choices and the addition of sound effects in their work. Sometimes people think that when editing, the editor finds a song that fits and slaps it on the timeline, but here showcases the idea of editing for the environment. What really stuck out to me is the jump cut to the location and using an effect like Lowpass on the audio to make the audience feel as though they are truly standing outside of this nightclub-esk restaurant. Then it jumps to the audio back to normal with Steven dancing as Andrew browses then back to Lowpass edit as they introduce this next location. It's just such a subtle touch that had me all giddy because small details as this audio editing elevate the scene to another level. Showing that Watcher was trying to make you feel like you are there with the boys on their travels. A true immersion effect that I just love.

Also to Adam and Annie who were both camera operators, your b-roll is absolutely superb and adds to the overall vibe of Travel Season.

The last point of editing I want to bring up as it's on the top of my head are these moments:

When they use a frame hold and then change the aspect ratio for a transition. I just find it such a charming technique in video editing. Plus I feel like this transition fits in with the whole "taking photos" approach because in a way the changing of the ratio on a frame hold is like taking a snapshot of that frame like a picture.

I just... I just love it, okay?

Honestly, I could go on and on about every little detail of this show and how they decided to overall produce it, but like I said- novel.

Watcher just puts so much love and care into all the shows they make. Even when it comes to the last process of video production which is editing the episodes together. I have not seen many channels put this much thought into the specificity of their videos like Watcher. This is why I gravitate towards them so much they care about the little things in the shows they create.

Moral of the story: I am in love with Travel Season and with Watcher as a whole.

HELLAWEEN -What was the inspiration behind HELLAWEEN/How did it come to be?

In 2014 I had just graduated college and moved across the country for a storyboard internship at a film studio. I had a huge quarter life crisis when the environment clashed with me in every way, which left me questioning if I had made a massive career choice mistake. To help take the edge off I decided I needed to come up with some characters that were as self indulgent as possible. So I asked myself "What if there was Halloween level of a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game?" and "What if My Chemical Romance wrote the soundtrack to Scooby Doo?" and thus, the main cast was born. Originally I didn't have any plans with them, I was just having fun drawing them for inktober and developing their personalities. Once the internship ended and I was able to set my career back in motion with some significantly better studio atmosphere fits for me in California, I started getting more serious about developing a linear story. I spent some time pitching different versions to tv studios and shorts programs. Got some great feedback but no real bites. Fortunately, I had a post blow up that caught the attention of my publisher who reached out to see if I was interested in doing a book instead and I LEAPED at the opportunity! HELLAWEEN is very much inspired by my own teenage years, growing up in the Bay Area, being surrounded by alt and skate cultures in the 2000's. As well as exploring identity, and growing up queer but the words for "how" didn't really exist yet. Plus a deep love for spooky cartoons and stylish anime, of course.

all of the gang works for valka's dragon sanctuary!! valka in my au is more like valhallarama from the books in that she's moreso absent for long periods of time & when she's there she's relatively detached but!! hiccup takes over the sanctuary (at like. age 15 but shhhh. valka & stoick still pay for everything but hiccup runs it rlly)

so from like, 15 to 17 the gang are learning abt dragons & begin education programs to help ppl understand dragons better!!! the dragon academy does become a thing!!!! after they graduate high school tho (yes this is all while they're juggling high school!!!) they all start kinda going separate ways (and obv eventually come back together full time but!!! it's uncertain for a while!!)

however they all pursue different things

hiccup, as like, predictable as this is, pursues engineering & tries to get as many certifications as possible. he's doing AS MUCH as he can, as hands on as he can. he wants to learn to be able to help make the world a better place for toothless (and all dragons!!) once he graduates he's back at the santuary full time & helps design new parts as they expand & get bigger! also new stuff for dragon care & just!! yeah!!!

in his free time, hiccup has a motorcycle he rebuilt from the ground up, loves zipping around town, he also draws, & ofc spending as much time with toothless as he can (maybe sneaking toothless out of the sanctuary.... a lot)

fishlegs goes into environmental science with minors in plant pathology & geology!!! this also ties back into dragons & their care through their environments best suited for them as well as dealing with climate change & stuff!!!! he applies what he learns to the berk sanctuary!!! he also goes back to the academy but he also works at the berk public library part time!!

fishlegs also collects so so much music, so many records, tapes, cds, 8tracks, u name it!!! he also has a rock collection ofc!!! he also spends as much time with meatlug as possible (maybe sneaks her out)!! he also gardens!! & does yoga on saturdays with astrid!!!!

astrid gets a double major of kinesiology & nutrition!!! this is more human oriented obv HOWEVER she's constantly trying to remind everyone around her to take better care of themselves for the love of everything!!! although she still is able to apply what she learns to dragon training!! u can not move the ways dragons do but motor skills are still important as well as eating right!!!! either way, dragons gotta learn this stuff to but in their own way!! she graduates & goes back to the sanctuary & helps with that!!

astrid does axe throwing in my modern au. she goes & practices often to blow off steam. also a track & field person FOR SURE!! like, discus throwing, hammer throwing, the godt damn works!! she's a weight lifter too!! i need astrid to be buff so bad!!! also yoga with fishlegs on saturdays!! she wouldn't call it "sneaking" but she does like to take stormfly out & about :)

ruffnut is pre-med and does go into veterinary school. she stays in school the longest out of the gang which shocks EVERYONE but it's what sounded interesting & it gave her a challenge. plus working at the sanctuary, u end up caring for a lot of sick & injured dragons. fishlegs helps her BUT she becomes The Medical Expert™️ & even uses the sanctuary for her dissertation & specializes in dragon veterinary medicine!!!

as for hobbies, ruff is still a chaotic being who loves destruction & explosions. she & tuff do mythbuster type shit!! she also is very much into theater!! she sometimes participates in local theater & did a performance or two in college!! i also think she longboards!! loves sneaking barf and belch out of the sanctuary!!

tuffnut gets his degree in theatre with a minor in chemistry!! the minor was more of an accident. he took the classes bc he thought they were interesting & ended up getting enough credit for the minor!! after he graduates he works at a few local theaters part time to help with either cast or crew (he acts but also sometimes he will do costuming, stage production, etc!!) but he also goes back to the sanctuary after he graduates!!

tuff's hobbies overlap with ruff's in that they do mythbuster type shit LOL!! but also he's in a little sewing club with snotlout!! he also longboards with ruff!! AND ofc, he raises chickens on the side :) loooves getting barf and belch out of the sanctuary.

snotlout. snotlout, snotlout, snotlout. this boy's got it kinda rough. he gets denied from the university everyone else goes to & it hits him hard, so he keeps working at the sanctuary full time while going to community college & trying out classes that interest him, but he feels lost. he finds himself doing a lot of music oriented classes & just gets a two year degree in music. later he'll go on to be a high school band & choir director of all things but that's down the line :) before then while working at the sanctuary he works part time at a local biker bar (once he's old enough)

snotlout's hobbies are a bit of a mish mash. he plays guitar, has a harley davidson motorcycle (goes riding with hiccup!!), is in the sewing club with tuff (has an etsy store on the side shhh), & loves sneaking hookfang out of the sanctuary!! also loves american football & sometimes does hammer throwing with astrid.

do they all have one big mutual thing they all share & do besides sneaking their dragons out of the sanctuary? yes. yes they do. they have a long running dungeons & dragons game & they also love multiplayer video games in ANY capacity. any way to be competitive!!!!!!! minecraft, smash brothers, mariokart, marioparty, runescape, call of duty, halo, ANYTHING they can get their hands on, old and new.

Seven Days Are Over Already

Here is the FIFTH part of the JK-Seven Drabble series. These drabbles can be read out of order as stand alones but make more sense when read in order.

This is part of an entire Drabble series based on his recent music release.

The next few days were pretty peaceful for me as I re-oriented myself. I heard from Jimin that Jungkook had been issued a restraining order from me. He couldn’t even be seen near the premises of my dorm, otherwise he would get detained. The man still wouldn't stop calling me though, so I was forced to block him. 

Jimin had told me that he had grown up in a really sheltered household, the type that went to Church every Sunday and shunned any sex related conversation. So apparently the dude was so sexually repressed that he didn’t even have any experience. Apparently I was the first person he had ever been with sexually, which made me even more confused. He got depressed because he had constantly been bullied through school and had very low self esteem. He was undergoing therapy for a month now, but had difficulty being in consistent attendance. He had apparently drastically improved this year after fixating over me. He was extremely cheerful and motivated now, and his grades had improved so much that he had gotten honor roll this semester. 

 How could a guy so handsome and cute not find anyone else attractive till now? If he just put himself out there, he would’ve been boinked on the first day of ever stepping onto campus. Then I remembered that he talked to me about his erectile dysfunction issue. I just found his tale a tad fantastical, I mean, how could I be the first person to turn him on ever, he must be out of his ever loving mind.

On the other hand, I was able to finish my assignments in peace. I was studying to be a psychiatrist and nothing could get in the way, including him. This year was lighter for me, but prepping for med school interviews was difficult. And though I intended to stay in state for med school, I couldn't have unnecessary distractions. Plus I liked the way my life was so far, being single allowed me to focus on myself and get to know what I liked and didn't like, what my boundaries were. Engaging him would make that goal very difficult to achieve.

If his obsessive tendencies were anything to go by, he needed therapy and distance from me. 

As it had already been a week now, he must have gotten over me. With this confidence, I got ready for bed. I left the window slightly open to let in a breeze and settled into bed which was right near the window, letting the cold air filter in  as I was snuggled into a fuzzy melange of blankets. 

I fell asleep easily, comforted by the warmth of just dried sheets wrapped around me. 

Then suddenly, I woke up to a strange sensation. I could feel a cold tongue traveling up and down my nether lips, separating them delicately to lick into my core. 

What the hell was going on?! I sat up in the body, confused as to my surroundings. I was in my dark bedroom, but now the window was open wide. I saw the glint of gold rings shimmer as what looked like a human head moved under my sheets. I pulled the sheets off hurriedly in panic and fear just to see two doe-eyes glittering with tears staring directly at me. I tried to get his head away from my core, pushing him away in a flurry of movement. 

His grip as usual didn't budge as he swatted my hands away, resuming his position at my core, as though he deserved to live between them. He kept licking, making me shiver as I couldn't control the electric cold sensation slide down my spine. His tongue laved tirelessly at my clit,  his warm hands squeezed my thighs. He moaned contently as he licked, as though he were drinking ambrosia. 

Even I tried resisting, his firm arms corded with muscle ripped my night gown as I gasped in surprise. He grunted in a satisfied manner as his hands were met with the texture of my taut nipples. He was in an unstoppable frenzy. I could feel my core tighten and throb as I felt a white blaze overtake my vision. I slumped onto the bed, my back meeting the sheets as he climbed over me to suck at my nipples. He latched onto them as though there was milk for him to draw out of them. His hands continued to trace the lines of my body, outlining my form as he kneaded the flesh around my hips and stomach. 

He pushed his tongue into my mouth as I moaned, slobbering me with wet kisses on my jaw and neck. He tasted like bananas and sprite, what an odd combination. Finally he started speaking in a broken whisper as his hands continued squeezing my flesh, “I-I am s-s-so sorry, I keep hurting you. But I am addicted to you. I j-j-j-ust can’t stop myself. I tried controlling myself for a year but it’s just not working. I don't want to hurt you, I will wait as long as you want me to. We can take it as slowly as you want. But I have to be with you, otherwise I feel like I am going insane. I can’t even function without the thought of you. You got me out of my depression when I saw you reading in the college Green house for the first time. I felt happier than I had my entire life until then.”

He continued speaking as his beautiful eyes gazed into mine, pinching my clit. I couldn't hold his gaze as my eyes closed in pleasure. “I know you were scared of me. That’s why you called the police. I hate that I made you scared of me. I love you so much that I can’t let go of you. I wouldn’t be able to forget you if I tried. Please let me be just be by your side. I know I am not good enough for you, but I will be anything you want me to be. I won't push you to have sex, though I am so hard it hurts, I know you are recovering. Let me just lick you the whole night. Let me memorize your taste on my tongue. Let me come into your window every night to lick you to completion.”

I trembled as my body shook with the innumerable orgasms he was pulling out of me. His cold tongue coated my core to the point that it felt soothing. I pulled his head up to mine, grasping his hair to make him face to face. 

I felt unhinged with him. He made me feel things I never felt before. My logic told me no, but my heart said something else. I pecked him on his lips and his eyes seemed to glitter with bliss, his mouth curving into a smile as I said, “You are good enough for me. I’m sorry that I keep pushing you away when you profess your love for me. Honestly speaking, I don’t have time for you in my life or anyone else.” His smile started to transform into a pout, his eyes shimmering with the start of tears.

I squealed in panic, “No, no, don’t cry. I hate seeing you cry. Why don’t we do this? We can try dating for a week and see if we work out. But you have to stop trespassing like this”.

He smiled , seeming more at peace than I had seen of him til now, “That sounds great. All I need is one week to convince you to marry me. I have the engagement ring ready just so you know.” 

He giggled and fell on the bed wrapping his arms around me, grabbing my butt as he fell asleep. The urge to escape his hold was dying down. I settled into his embrace, falling asleep content in his arms.

I guess above anything else I’m just fascinated by how things are constructed or designed, plus the theories and logistics behind why they’re designed that way. whether that’s about the design principles applied to something massive like a theme park or industrial shipping yard, or the mechanical building blocks of musical instruments + artistic influences that go into constructing a score for a film, for instance. tell me how that shit is made please. and why. it’s actually no wonder film is so special to me because not only is the final product a work of art that can move you existentially, but the actual physical production of a film is a beautiful triumph of logistics and construction. AND THEN!! most infrastructural design is subject first and foremost to the limitations of its location, which is where the maps come in. I love navigation and maps so much… human history is shaped by geography, and everything we’ve invented has to take it into account… maps are an account of everything we can see and where we can go and what we can do there. in 2025 I’m gonna get really into radios. and orienteering. yes I did already produce a radio show for 4 years in high school but I would like to take a walkie talkie apart and go for a walky talk somewhere

like a) i'm interested in commonalities between leaders in general and b) soyeon and hongjoong have ALWAYS reminded me of each other in some ways--like they are both capricorn risings, neptune and uranus in 1st, chart ruler saturn in the 3rd, scorpio MC--physically they look similar (tiny with a BIG presence, shape shifters, performance geniuses) and their personalties have that same funny like... people think they're intense and scary unless they know what a little weirdo cutie they are. but also they truly can be intense and scary! then be a loser three minutes later. they can be geniuses and they can be dummies. duality !!

i also find it such a great way to go really deep into a placement and tease out the subtle differences and how that can manifest?

like they are both ruled by retrograde saturn in the 3rd (work communication and bucking the norm = key themes) but

hongjoong is ruled by 29° aries saturn -- he is gonna be tested much more on issues of authority, judgment, work than soyeon is. he also has more of a natural talent for leadership but also a hot and cold potential to be a tyrant lol (temper). his saturn is in the jupiter decan, so education philosophy idealism Open Mindedness are all important too soyeon is ruled by 3° taurus saturn-- more of a workhorse, methodical and like... she's not gonna get mad as easily she's like "lol ok let's see who blinks first bc it's not gonna be me honey" (stubborn as hell) and it's in the venus decan so #aesthetic also she is about that creative control + control freak vibes rather than her needing to be in charge for its own sake

her chart ruler energy NEEDS to create and perform like almost pathologically, has an ego but also there's an impulse to compromise or make nice that super disagrees with other parts of her chart. however her saturn is also generous, creative, fair, artistic, team-orientated. mercury adds to the 3rd house gemini energy--youthful, playful, loves to learn, switches lanes like crazy. it makes sense that idle's concepts bounce around very a lot, and that soyeon does all the creative direction herself down to hair and makeup, and that she usually starts with a very clear message to communicate when designing a comeback (even if sometimes the message is super specific and profound and sometimes the message is "idk fuck it we ball"--like tbh if i had been responsible for quite literally pretty much everything for my group since debut while constantly having to fight the public and even the company despite having kept the lights on pretty much single-handedly for the past ??? years, i too would want to fuck it and ball after a while)

(hongjoong also has a prominent venus but his is conjunct his mc--very visible, very key to what he offers the world, what he wants the world to perceive him like--soyeon's venus is much more about creative vision communication and work and hongjoong's venus is more expression and expansion and growth)

In this fic Astarion was recaptured by Cazador post-game and then finally freed thanks to a fire... but he's terribly injured in the aftermath and ashamed to have his ex-lover see him. Only one chapter so far but I'm a big fan.

Do you think it's possible that, as liberating as it can be for them to live their truth and stop hiding, it might be equally terrifying to come out after living in the shadows for years? Like maybe the idea of a coming out scares them rather then bringing them joy or relief?

of course! this is a problem i have with a goal-oriented engagement with kaylor, or for gaylors, a goal-oriented engagement with gaylor. the idea that coming out is the ultimate goal. i think it’s easy to discount the important question of whether or not coming out is something they or taylor would even want to do.

there was a time where i thought about things in this way as well and while i do think that 5-7 years ago things felt different and it looked like coming out might be an active goal (plus i was new so things felt more immediate and consequential), i think there’s much less evidence now to support this being the goal. like maybe it’s a goal but… i think it’s been super important over the past few years to rethink what their win conditions are.

like one lens you can look at taylor’s music through (if i so dare to use the word) is love. it’s taylor searching for “the one” and taylor learning about what love is and means to her and how she wants to love and be loved. if you think about it that way, and you see this whole journey as a journey to her getting that happily ever after and protect that happily ever after, i think that it can really change the way you see things.

as for your question, sure it’s plenty possible that it’s become increasingly scary to them or terrifying to them, but it could also just be that it’s become less important to them, or the costs/risks have started outweighing the benefits. which is an equation that can change so i don’t mean to say this as like, ohh they’re never coming out ohhh they’ve been shoved deep in the closet, nor do i mean to say ohhh they don’t owe us anything, no, what i mean is like.. maybe they’re busy doing other things and it’s possible to be happy for them having theoretically made it this far. idk if this makes sense but.

sometimes i see people, often gaylors, say “why doesn’t she come out?!” and im like hey, maybe that’s not a rhetorical question or something to say out of exasperation, maybe actually ask yourselves, why might she not come out?

Seeing the responses to @drawthethingdoppelganger 's cannibal arc poll, has definitely helped me improve the fresh meat lore. It's giving creative juices lol! I'm gonna use the community's Quality Standards to up the freshmeat au content quality!

Some of the most prevalent ideas I've seen:

Keeping the Family Love integrity before all else. Bob loves his family, the family loves each other SO MUCH no matter what. Nothing gets in the way of that, not the human meat, not the back alley business, nada.

The family remain expressive and musical. This one I'm excited to play around with, I have ideas that Bob wasn't rly a singer to begin with, but between Linda, Gene, and the general Sweeney Todd vibe, he gets into it, REALLY into it. They all do (even Louis/e). Many of you said you loved the contrast of the dark themes but with family/love- oriented songs!

Finding a healthy balance for the arc. Many of you said you didn't care for the "being edgy for edge sake" element of the cannibal arc, and I would agree with that! I've seen some fresh meat posts of Gene wanting to EAT Alex?? This isn't an idea I'll be rolling with. For me it's a bit cheap and crass like "ah the cannibal is so obsessed with eating humans so much that he wants to eat his best friend". Not really a plot, y'know? So I'll be working on creating a more nuanced Dietary framework to prevent the au from being kitsch or tasteless! If any cannibal wants to eat a person there will be actual reasoning for it, not just because these characters are associated in canon.

Painting healthy relationships besides the toxic. Many of you said you still want the Belchers to have loved ones (family/friends) despite their cannibalism, and I LOVE this idea!! Whilst I do like to add a toxic touch to this au, I also don't want to pigeon-hole ANY character. I'd like to keep each individual fluid and organic, opposed to one-dimensional. (E.g. Courtney may still have an on/off dynamic with Gene despite the cannibalism - does she know? Does she not? Does she even care???)

I started neglecting the fresh meat au bc it started to feel stale, but seeing DT's post has really helped me want to dive back into it!! Very exciting times AAAAAAA!!!

hi sam!! kind of a different request, but would you list as many of your favorite orchestral pieces as you can? association with turtles v welcome but also optional! i have trouble doing my coursework because i can't listen to anything in the background while doing it (shows, music with lyrics), but i listened to scheherazade because of you and really loved it, plus got some work done to boot!! i'm not sure where to start in looking for more music like that so i thought i'd ask you. :)

so my favorite symphony of ALL TIME is symphony 9 by dvorak. absolute must-listen. my favorite moment of the entire piece (which you HAVE to listen to the entire thing to get REALLY feral about) is the last huge chord progression in the fourth movement that takes the db major brass chords from the second movement and puts it to the BOMBASTIC TYMPANI EB MINOR EXTRAVAGANZA from the first movement and makes me want to CHEW THROUGH BEDROCK, RAHHH

aside from that, here are a few that i love a lot and totes recommend:

all of scheherezade is, of course, absolutely stunning. it's one of my favorite pieces of all time. if you haven't listened to the other movements, i highly recommend! in this same vein is you liked that are pieces like the stepps by borodin, the polovstian dances (also borodin), marche slav by tchaikovsky, and to some extent saint-saens piano concerto no. 5 has some similar themes, particularly in the absolutely DELICIOUS second movement. it's called "orientalism" and while the, uh, intent has a history of. to say generously. problematic undertones. the pieces themselves are lovely.

russian easter overture by rimsky korsakov. i played this one in high school and man. it's just so FUN and PRETTY.

symphonie fantastique by hector berlioz. it's the story of this dude having a really bad acid trip. no i'm not kidding. also the fifth movement has the dies irie in my favorite iteration ever. eat your heart out, mozart.

...actually just literally anything by tchaikovsky. gun to my head, i'd say he's my favorite classical composer. i'm partial to his ballet work because that's what i played a lot of personally, but his overtures and concertos are quite fun. his romeo and juliet overture is extremely famous (though i personally vastly prefer the opening part over the latter, more famous part). every violinist you ever meet will be traumatized by him, though. so do be careful.

speaking of concertos: my favorite (ugh. i'm a traitor) is probably the barber violin concerto. it just has this. cinematic vibe to it that makes me think of something magical.

(....though the elgar cello concerto and the grieg piano concerto may have something to say about this.)

the planets suite by holst is very fun. you've probably heard mars, and you may recall the romance theme from jupiter if you've seen the movie braveheart. it's one of those mainstream pieces most people have heard. my particular favorite movement is uranus. it's so bouncy and fun!!! classical headbanger music here

beethoven is quite fun to listen to. for his orchestral work, i'm partial to symphony no. 5 since that was the first one i played and the drama of it is enthralling. (yes. i think it's better than nine. sue me.). that said, between you and me, i like the egmont overture better than his symphonies. that low open c on the viola is just so god damned juicy—[door bangs open] OH NO. IT'S THE PRETENTIOUS POLICE. THEY FOUND ME

i'll stop there. these are a few symphonic pieces, since you asked for those specifically. i also really love chamber music (which is just the strings section, sans the woodwinds/brass/percussion/etc), but i find those amazing to listen to as well! anywho i hope you enjoy some slash all of these and good luck with your studies!!
