Most likely, it bounced back into place after being kicked by some lowlife trying to rob an old, helpless grandmother, which River, of course, couldn't ignore. It was Jax's comment that caught his attention, furrowing his brows in slight confusion since this was a normal thing for his body to do. A soft laugh slipped from his lips while shaking his head swiftly upon hearing the suggestion of going to the hospital or clinic to get checked up. "Yeah, bro, I don't know how to explain this to a doctor. "If I tell them that I have freaky spider abilities, they are definitely going to ship my ass to some crazy lab and probe me or something to make super soldiers out of my blood," River blabbered on, "I have watched too many films like that."

with closed fists, jax makes the weak attempt to scrub the sleep out of his eyes. a yawn following his efforts before his brows knit together at something his friend does beside him. " dude . " it's the tone of it all that reveals jax's disbelief and mild concern. " not to sound like a mom. but -- uh . i'm pretty sure that's not supposed to make that sound. " he points to the body part in question. the limb that he's convinced himself must be broken or busted. " that doesn't sound good," knowing river, jax doesn't know if that's just a side effect of having cool spider powers or if his friend's been injured with all his spidey duties he's been up to lately. "maybe you should hit up a doctor?" a shrug rolls off his shoulders with the suggestion. "or even the university clinic. . ya know, i heard they only charge 20 bucks if you show 'em your id."

“Once I leave, I can’t ever come back.”

“I know. That’s why I’ll take my time figuring it out.”

I look at him in question.

“That way, I can be with you for a long time,” he explains, and I do believe my heart stops completely. I just stare at him — and then the lights buzz and flicker, and the room goes black again before I can answer.

“… you promise?” I finally ask, so low I’m surprised he hears me.

“I promise.”

I exhale, and it comes out much shakier than I expected. A burning stings the back of my eyes; I try to blink it away. God, what kind of girl cries this easily?

I don’t know if it’s self-consciousness or embarrassment, but some part of me hates the thought of him seeing me crying — again — even in this darkness where all that’s visible is his faint outline in the white streetlight that barely breaks through the curtains.

I sniffle, though I don’t mean to. His voice comes gently in answer: “Se Kyeong, are you al—”

I flinch and reach for him to make him stop — unable to bear the sound of her name on his lips right now. My hand is on his neck, and I can feel his erratic pulse under my palm in the fleeting moment it takes me to close the gap between us.

It’s a clumsy collision — the kind where teeth clash together and lips bruise from the impact, and immediately I feel that I’ve ruined the moment by being so rash.

When I feel his hands on my shoulders I realize it in horror — he’s going to pull back.

I can already imagine the mortification I’ll feel when he rips himself away, complaining about my savagery, so I shut my eyes tighter to make the moment last just a fraction of a second longer.

But… then it doesn’t end.

His lips do separate from mine, for just the length of a breath, but then he resumes the kiss — softer, gentler. Kinder.

… Oh, how I hate him. Turning my impulsive, violent attack on his mouth into this. I kiss him to shut him up, and he holds on. This maddening, mesmerizing man.

And a moment later I’m lost in the kiss, breathing him in, tracing his jawline with my fingertips. I don’t even know at what point his hands end up around my waist, or mine in his hair, but the rush of it is so powerful that all recollection of the last two days is washed away. The chorus of it’s wrong, it’s all wrong, has fallen dead silent — the fact that he isn’t Se Kyeong’s first love, that he’s 28 years older than me… none of it matters right now. There is only him and his words and his arms and his warmth, and kissing him feels like I have a firework show in my stomach.

Minutes, seconds, weeks… years… I lose track of time there with him. Eventually I’m forced to break away, because I’m pretty sure it’s been decades since the last time I last inhaled and I must be blue in the face.

He looks at me, unwavering, as I take a deep breath to steady myself.

The power came back on at some point, so I can see the fairy lights twinkling in his eyes, and with the lack of oxygen to my brain making me a bit dizzy, he looks just a little extra sparkly. I’d hardly recognize the person that was kissing me passionately just second ago; he looks so… innocent. Boyish.

“Are you okay?” he asks me, and I’m not sure I can even find the words to tease him.

“I’m fine,” I assure him. “You’re just so…”

Disarming. Captivating. Intoxicating.

“… annoying.”

His eyebrows shoot up.

“I mean, how can you say those things to a girl? You’re making my heart flutter.”

He appears stunned, but the corners of his mouth begin to twitch into a smile, and the sight makes me giggle. “Honestly! And you have to look at me like that, too?”

He chuckles. “I’m sorry to have flustered you, Se Kyeong-ah.”

There’s her name again. “I— I’m not flustered,” I stammer, and his smile grows.

“Oh, screw you,” I laugh, giving his shoulder a light punch. “You just… do something to me. It’s not fair.”

He’s looking at me like that again. With that softness, that seeming ability to read my mind. His face is so close to mine and he’s smiling softly and I’m staring at him and wow, the temptation to kiss him again is remarkably strong. But I think that if I do that, we’ll be here til morning, caught in an endless cycle of kiss, separate, banter, kiss again.

So I wrap my arms around his shoulders and hug him instead, burying my face in his neck. I guess it takes him by surprise, because he stiffens for a moment, before relaxing and returning the hug.

I smile against his skin. “Thanks. By the way.”

“For?”

“For… being gentle with me.”

“Oh.” He’s quiet for a moment. “No thanks required.”

“You’re even doing it now,” I laugh as I feel his hand gently rubbing my back.

“Oh.” His hand stills. “I guess so.”

“Well, don’t stop. It feels good.”

And it does. It’s not kissing, but it’s just as nice — holding each other — feeling his heartbeat against mine. And well, because I’m basically already there and I can’t resist, I allow myself to leave a kiss on the right side of his neck. He gasps softly when I do. “Whoa.”

I chuckle and gently break away at last. “All right, the party’s over. Now get out of my house, Ha Eun Gyeol.”

“Oh, your kindness overwhelms me!” he laughs, giving my hand a little squeeze before standing up. “Good night, Se Kyeong-ah.”

“Good night,” I smile, looking up at him. “Get home safely.”

“I will,” he answers, picking up his shirt from the couch. “Sleep well.”

“I certainly will.”

And I do — once I'm done squealing in joy and excitement, feeling like exploding into a million little pink hearts, kicking my legs in the air like a madwoman — I go upstairs, and I shower and I get into bed and I sleep soundly for the first time in ages, warm and glowing and just a little bit in love with Ha Eun Gyeol.

I can't remember exactly where but it was a merchant in either sumeru city or port ormos. I'm leaning on the city and possibly in the inner market near the theatre. I'll try looking tomorrow and send you another ask

I know the one you’re referring to! This should be it, it’s from a vendor in the Grand Bazaar:

I didn’t mention this in the essay because of it being speculatory, but I’m more than ready to speculate here. I agree, this is most likely an inference to Alhaitham, not only considering his status as a Mahamata but also due to the fact that it’s an integral part of Alhaitham’s character that he prefers to be unknown. Even when he serves as the Acting Grand Sage, people don’t typically recognise him due to how little known he is despite his primary role as the Grand Scribe, as seen in his story quest. This would align with why the vendor admittedly has no idea who this particular customer was.

Drinking, particularly wine, can also relate to both Kaveh and Alhaitham, as this is an activity they both partake in together. Alhaitham’s voice-lines express that he likes to have a drink after work, along with his demo showing him drinking wine with Kaveh, Cyno and Tighnari, and him apparently stealing Kaveh’s beer in A Parade of Providence. Similarly, Kaveh also states his preference for drinking in his voice-lines, as well as his overindulgence in this hobby being highlighted in his hangout. Additionally, the furniture item ‘Monthly Frustration Be-Gone’ references Kaveh buying expired wine in order to get a discount.

Since this is an NPC conversation, it’s also worth noting other external worldbuilding details, such as the bulletin boards of Sumeru. In the three exchanges Alhaitham and Kaveh have, all of them reference drinking in some way, in that Alhaitham typically indulges Kaveh by paying for his tabs – revoking this only when they have a disagreement. Lambad also notes that Alhaitham and Kaveh go drinking together, as well as Kaveh picking up wine ordered by Alhaitham.

Alhaitham buying wine for Kaveh to make up for some disagreement between the two aligns with all these established details. When considering the typical exchange of Alhaitham refusing to pay for Kaveh’s drinks when Kaveh disagrees with Alhaitham’s views, it makes sense that it would also work in reverse – as in, when Alhaitham trespasses on Kaveh’s views which leads to Kaveh’s upset, Alhaitham would buy him drinks to make up for it

Alongside this, character description wise, there is no other convincing contender as to who else this could be? Alhaitham uses the tall male model, and is the only tall, relevant member of the Mahamata that the player is aware of.

Given all these context clues the game gives us, I’d say, yeah, this is our resident loser Alhaitham!!

here's a little wip share!

Since I've been out of art school for a while now I've been craving a good long term project, and what better subject than my favorite show? :) I'm pretending like Anastasia is an animated production/video game/whatever and I'm in charge of putting together a 'concept art book'/illustrated guide (for lack of a better term). Which means there would be extensive artwork of each costume, character lineups, background/set paintings, and prop studies. I'm currently still working on drawing and rendering all the assets and once they're all drawn I'll arrange them in a page layout as if they'll be printed in a big book!

But since it will be several months/year+ before it's finished I thought i could share some of my progress so far and possibly document the process as we go along. Here is an act i lineup of the principal characters, some examples of character costume sheets, and a couple screenshots of some ensemble costumes in various stages of completion. I've also rendered several props and I've started a couple background paintings, but I'll share those later.

Why embark such a tedious project, you ask? Well! because. i want to. So far it's been pretty fun. my obsessive collection/scholarly archive of reference photos of this show are finally being put to good use 🙈

phew. . .

this is tbh a lot harder than i thought it would be ?! but what i’m trying to sob out, is that sadly, today is the day that i will be leaving this silly little blog of mine — archiving it and letting it go. . . :/

‘cause of my little time to write anymore – i got college and work to deal with, real-life issues with a busy schedule more than anything, and far more important things to handle with than some filthy porn about some supaaa hot characters (SADLY) :/ ( but don't get me wrong, i do love some good written filth ! ) + another reason is because of my lack of motivation to write now too……..

buuut don't get me wrong, to me, writing has always been such a joy and a hobby that i adored so much ! ( i’ve been writing since i was 13?? :o ) and that's a long time !! and doing something for so long has became. . . a little tiring. . . a little boring too, repetitive even. . . :/ but don't get me wrong !!! this blog has brought me so much joy and inspiration. and it's all because YOU. ALL OF Y’ALL, ALL 12K OF Y’ALL. like, y’all have made this blog so much fun and so exciting to log in and just to write or even just to talk, to just have stupid little convos about crazy little things and get horny on main about characters ( mostly over getō – aka the loml >:D ). and y'all made it so fun to write too, y'all did give me that motivation i’ve always needed because of y’alls encouragement and never-ending love and support, which lead us to multiple ( proud ) milestones !! and that appreciation towards my work has always made me more than happy ! so thank you so much !!! <33

this is why i love y’all so much, and i will dearly miss you guys, and all of our stupid little jokes and memes together :( especially all of my moots :(( i love you guys sm, y'all are srsly more than just moots, i take y'all as actual friends in my leedle phone :((( so, ( moots ) if y'all would like to stay in contact ask me for my discord !

also sugu with his hair loose is very. intimate and sweet and soft, i've seen people talk about how his hair is symbolic of his mental state/behaviors and i completely agree... but we deserved to see him let loose and show his 100% true colors in a happy context too!!!!!! okay so this . made me insane? completely??? i don’t have words to describe the longing that poured into my body after reading this like it’s SO serious. HIM W HIS HAIR DOWN…….. let’s discuss this 🌖 anon . we Need to talk abt it. suguru’s hair is something so personal to me….. not JUST bc it’s silky and beautiful and fluffy but also bc it rlly is so very Symbolic……. the fact that he kept it in a bun during high school, let it all flow during his defection and then finally put it into a half-down bun……. it for sure symbolizes his mental state but most importantly his control . and his true self. teen sugu is very guarded …. very controlled….. when it comes to his fake smiles and emotions and just. everything. so him wearing his hair up is almost like a way of conforming, yk?? not letting his true self show. but during his breakdown he’s so tired and depressed he doesn’t even have the strenght to put it into a bun or take care of it…. he doesn’t have the strenght to put up appearances :((( n i think that’s also why he blurts some things out to haibara and yuki. he’s just . soso tired……

and when he finally defects and fixes his cognitive dissonance, he has the control and strenght to put his hair into a bun, but still lets it flow freely and. to me that’s . a symbol of his conviction. his decision Not to conform anymore :’3 i just love metaphors like that sm…. BUUUUT sadness aside it’s basically just a symbol of his true self and how comfortable he is showing it!!!! so for him to let his hair down in front of his s/o…. 🥺🥺 i just think. it’s a sign of trust. in a way. he’s willing to bare his heart to you…. and he trusts you to treat him w care. trusts you to wash his hair and comb it bc he knows you aren’t gonna tug on it or threaten to cut it off the way satoru does LMAO. he just trusts you soooo deeply and that’s so rare for him i think :(((((

hi!! this is the anon who asked for the english major yap :) (uhmmm prepare for a long message i fear i also yapped for a hot moment HAHAH) i'm not an english major (it was my second choice though!) but i'm actually a criminology major!! still, it was so interesting to hear your opinions and stuff about being an english major and some of the things you have studied!!! all of those classes sound so interesting and i really want to see if my uni offers any ones similar to those!! i'm definitely going to find "i'm afraid of men" in my local bookstore this weekend. english was also one of my favorite classes :) and i LOVE reading and writing and definitely relate to not having time to read/write (i also relate to the "don't judge my writing" because i like reading and writing). i really enjoyed the yap session!!! the audio ramble felt like i was listening to a voice message from a friend, it was lovely :) and i would love love LOVE to hear (or read!) a ramble session about "does it happen in a season?" i loved that fic so much and hold it so close to my heart <3 (it was so fantastically written) anyways that's all i'm going to stop myself from yapping more HAHAH thank you so much for responding to my ask!!! i hope you have a great day/afternoon/night <3
