My thoughts on The Gray Man (MAJOR spoilers under the cut!!)

So I literally just finished watching TGM and well… it was a good movie firstly. Like I didn’t love it only bc action movies aren’t really my thing so I knew I wouldn’t love it but…

FIRSTLY CHRIS WAS AMAZING. Like… just him as Lloyd was perfection especially all the little things he did, like when he got shot in the ass and he tries to sit down and he’s sitting all gingerly, the way he casually mauled and manhandled the girl with a heart condition, just his quips and banter with Suzanne… honestly Lloyd was the highlight of the movie and we knew he’d be!! Chris is incredible at playing a villain and especially an unhinged one!

Of course bc it’s me, I was low-key shipping Lloyd and Suzanne 😌😌 enemies to lovers type thing you know… the way he told her to shut up and sit in the corner🥹 the way she shot and killed him😌🙌🏼 poetic!!! You can’t tell me they didn’t hook up when they were in college together (sorry I’m going so off topic bahahahaha)

What I didn’t like was how the ending was so clearly setting up a sequel. Rege’s character didn’t get any comeuppance, Six is on the run with the little girl, Rege etc all don’t know the truth about Suzanne and that it was her who killed Lloyd… like I love when movies wrap up nicely at the end… I hate when you’re just setting up a sequel bc it just starts looking like a cash grab… why not just make a movie that’s a complete movie… idk if some questions are left unanswered by the end of it but just give it a satisfying conclusion — which this didn’t really have… like okay Russo bros good luck with the sequel but I won’t be watching it bc it won’t have Chris lmaooo

Also the little girl with the heart condition… how was she withstanding so many explosions and gunshots??? Like when Lloyd manhandles her, the guy’s like “sHe hAs a pAcEmAkEr!1!1” but then later there’s gunshots, explosions, she’s being dragged around by Lloyd and homegirl is fine???? No heart attack??? Okay??? All cos she was wearing earplugs or smth???

Also I feel like the little girl had so much more to offer. In the flashbacks, they made her sassy but then in the present time they just made her a crybaby… I mean I guess I’d be crying too if I was kidnapped but you know… I feel like her sass and Lloyd’s craziness would’ve made for some funny scenes… like he’s kidnapped her but she’s torturing and irritating him with questions type thing… they could’ve bounced off each other nicely and I’m confused why they didn’t do that but oh well…

Anyways, some of my fav Lloyd highlights: him calling the dead bodies morons and shooting and kicking them, literally any convo he had with Suzanne, when he was like ‘Suzanne pay this man’ and then five secs later ‘DONT pay this man’ and just I can’t remember any more off the top of my head but Lloyd was SO good… even with his fingers cut off he was owning tf out of that knife and just ahhhh I’m in love 🥹🫣🫣

Also the final fight scene between Lloyd and Six… they should’ve made Lloyd overpower Six at the beginning and then Six come back,. I feel like Six was owning that fight too much… like if you’re gonna make the villain believable and scary then let him have the upper hand in the fight for a while pls!!! Also I wish Lloyd said smth funny to Suzanne right before he died.. but I guess he just couldn’t believe she shot him hehe

Also hmmm…. Ana’s role was so…. Like I felt she was gonna be more important??? She wasn’t even in the climax akdjsjsjaka all she did was help Six but that’s it… I guess that’s okay tho…
