is GITM discontinued? AO3 hasn’t received any updates in a while

GITM hasn't received an update in exactly a month, I have made it super clear in a couple of posts and on the discord that the next chapter is coming out on May 11 (an extra three weeks) because it's very big and needed time to cook. Chapter 16 is done now, just being edited.

I promise y'all if I had discontinued GITM you would hear about it.

first week back at school and ahhhhhh everything is a little overwhelming currently

- my living space is full of boxes i have simply not had the energy to unpack at all.... hopefully this weekend (but i have also been invited to a Social Event so WE SHALL SEE)

- this school year is going to have So Much Important Stuff happening inbetween the many weeks of practice placement

- such as The Academic Text

- AND i need to finish the big project i was supposed to have finished ages ago

- our teacher this year speaks swedish with a very thick french accent and i speak norwegian with a dialect, we really struggle to understand one another but maybe hopefully that will change over time.... please...........

- i'm stressed about Stupid Bureaucracy Stuff

- and im so so sleepytired :(((

Sorry I haven’t been real active the past couple of days, I’ve had exams and just a lot of work I’ve been catching up on, I’m trying to get a therapist, and my family is caught up in some legal crap that has been going on for well over a year (we’re not in the wrong btw- making that clear) and just a lot more personal things that have left me drained and disinterested in being social :(

@anestofocs asked- We could see people giving Fandom Lambda the Rose Quartz treatment ™️ were all nuance flies out the window the moment Lambda does something that is morally complicated even though being morally complicated is baked into him. People will yell at others at how he's "the real villan" even when he's in the middle of trying to save not just his city but the world. Especially when he has to chow down on human flesh even though he would rather not. Tell me what the “fanon” interpretation of my OC if they were a canon character would be (accepting!)

Because yes, when it comes to morally complicated characters and the actions they take, fandom tends to ignore that? Or flatten it out to "he did this thing, so he's bad!" and treating him like he's a piece of shit even though there's a reason why he did that? And it straight up gets ignored??

And that's always funny to me. And I'm really glad Rose Quartz got brought up because both she and Lambda would be in the same boat? Granted, his character progression isn't shown in reverse and built up to where you see why he chooses to do something like with how Rose Quartz's character was explored but still. The surface level treatment of characters and their actions can be straight up damaging, imo. There's always a reason why they're going to do something and they're not a monster for doing a few shitty things. (Though greater fandom would have you believe otherwise cough cough. And it does depend on how shitty those actions are.)

Also if you ask me, fandom tends to blame the character as opposed to looking at a writer and being like "Hey, where are we going with this?". Or if they do look towards the writers, they would gripe about how the characterization is wrong when it's being developed or played out or something.

Honestly, a lot of it comes down to people not getting why a character might choose to do something morally ambiguous or complicated or simply not wanting to get it.

And the video of our run! He scored 98 out of a possible 100 points and earned us first place, couldn’t be prouder. I do see a few hover sits he decided to fix halfway through the course, but honestly I’m just glad he did that stationary front. He tends to be 50/50 on whether or not he feels like doing them correctly lmao

If you’ve been following me for a while you know how long I’ve struggled with him, and after our last trial I was about ready to give up. But I’m glad I didn’t, because he finally decided to grow up this year and I couldn’t be happier. Love you Reese!
