Archiving Which-Item-Poll
Tag directory - A key to the tags I use as well as ways to browse by category or the month the poll was originally posted.
I also have a new survey about the tag directory
Please follow @pick-an-item-poll as they're continuing to post polls where you choose an item
If you want to follow the original blog's new poll blog, it's @hear-me-out-poll
What is this blog?
Basically I'm trying to (manually) reblog everything from their blog to this blog to create a more permanent archive once which-item-poll deactivates the original blog. I'm doing this because tumblr's search functions are notoriously useless for finding specific posts and many posts get entirely lost without a blog's archive page. Additionally, this preserves the tags that contain the information about the items, most notably the websites where they can/could be found.
Once the archive is complete and posted, we'll see where this goes from there.
@which-item-poll if you want me to delete a specific post or a couple that I re-blogged from you please ask me and I will. (Even after you've deleted the blog, since I know your main)
About the Archivist
For now, you can call me Arc (not my name, but it works for now), I'm non-binary and my pronouns are she/they! I'm not the original owner of which-item-poll. I'm typically slow to respond to messages, but will take any suggestions into consideration even if I haven't responded to you yet.
Archive progress
Currently in the queue:
March, April and May 2024
Currently in the drafts:
June, July, August, September, October, November and December 2024
Completed Months:
January and February 2024
Needs to be queued/drafted:
Any posts remaining in which-item-poll's queue or any other post made between time of update (4:47am on the 15th of December EST) and when OP decides to deactivate the blog.
Updates
The tag directory is completed! It can be found at the top of this post! There's also a new survey about it. Is it too long?
Since it was a majority yes vote on the survey about new polls, I'm currently considering how I'd go about doing that.
21/12/24 EST - Days left until completed archive: 35 days at 50 posts a day.
I've finished queuing and drafting existing posts and are now waiting to archive any future posts between now and when the blog is deactivated.
I'm also going to try and post some things manually to get that time down, but can't guarantee that I can do this a lot due to things happening IRL.
Previous updates under the cut
Update: My autotagger wasn't working, which I found out about 1200 posts into this. Currently working on restoring tags to the posts already reblogged. I've managed to fix my autotagger but I had to clear the queue and drafts. (I didn't want to do it... but must to preserve my sanity.... and more importantly my wrist) Once I've got the tags back on the January posts (manually) I'll be able to fill the queue and drafts back up with the original tags intact.
Update: Everything that was posted had the tags added back on. Resuming queuing posts (and I've confirmed that the autotagger is copying the tags). Starting the queue again since there's enough in there to run while I sleep.
Update: I have been misspelling February in all of my tags. I will fix this and continue to fix this as they get posted from the queue.
Update: All the miss-spelt tags have been corrected
Update: I made the pinned post nicer to read! I also added some information.
Update 15/12/24 EST: If I run the queue at 50 posts a day, it will take 45 days to post everything from the original blog to this blog.
19/12/24 7pm EST - Taking a very short break from working on the archive as I have my final assignment due for a university course due tonight. (in about 10 hours in my local time). I should be back to doing stuff with it tomorrow. :)
17/12/24 EST - Days left until completed archive: 40 days at 50 posts a day.
Update 21/12/24: I'm back to it and working on adding tags to posts before making a directory again. For now, All current archival posts and ones that are in the queue now have the tag #which-item-poll-archive

Part 29 | Part 30 | Part 31
Author's Note: Whew! Honestly, I had half of this done yesterday and worked on the rest today. Please forgive any mistakes. I relied on Google docs to correct my grammar.
I don't have a specific favorite SasuHina art or fic, so I just put together my favorite elements in SasuHina fic. Hope that works. This part is a little bit longer since I included 10 Omake pieces from Hinata's POV. Part 31 is wayyyy at the bottom but follows directly after Omake 29.5.
I hope you enjoy! And I hope to see you again next year ;) @sasuhinamonth
Omake Part 1.5 - 100 words
Hinata could feel herself moving. She willed her eyes to open but her body didn't obey. 'Am I dying? Is this death?'
She heard a low voice curse. Hinata tried to remember what happened before her vision went black. She remembered dressing in her finest kimono, getting into the palanquin and heading toward the country's borders to meet her new civilian husband. And then...
'Ah, yes,' she thought. 'The bandit murdered my clansmen in charge of handing me over to my new prison.' Red eyes came into her mind. Red eyes that could only belong to one clan.
'Uchiha Sasuke.'
Omake Part 7.5 - 100 words
Hinata steeled herself against her captor. She's no fool. She heard the rumors of his strength. Hinata figured the only way to deal with him was to pretend she was talking to another elder. Her clan head voice was something she perfected before she was cast away.
--
They rarely talked during their travels. But when he asked why she continued to follow him, she wished he kept silent. She was sure he could hear her heart beating loud in her chest.
Remembering her clan voice, she lifted her chin and answered.
Her shoulders almost slumped in relief, hearing his laughter.
Omake 10.5 - 100 words
Hinata could tell he was lying.
She can't imagine he accepted his clan's massacre so easily. To live without hearing their voice, seeing their smile, feeling their touch. Hinata's heart clenched.
She knew herself how the loss of a loved one can affect a person's psyche.
Unfortunately, O-bon festivities don't allow a grieving person the impact of acceptance.
Still, she doesn't pry and lets him rest. Her eyes wandered to him laying beside her on the hillside. Without his perpetual frown, he looked peaceful.
Hinata closed her eyes and exhaled.
She wished she could feel as peaceful as Sasuke looked.
Omake Part 12.5 - 100 words
She repeated those words to herself after Sasuke's team found out she was a missing-nin. Hinata shut her eyes, unwilling to cry. She couldn't give up her freedom now.
'I don't want to go back.'
Hinata felt a light tap on her shoulder. Sasuke was ready to go.
--
He said nothing to her on their journey. He didn't mention where they were headed to his teammates either.
She half expected him to desert her. The other half hoped that he wouldn't leave her.
At night, she repeated those same words to him. His eyes were understanding and she felt relief.
Omake 17.5 - 100 words
Hinata softly cursed. Of course her plan to lure the ANBU team away didn't work. Nothing ever worked in her favor.
She bit her lip, trying to figure out the best course of action to save Sasuke. Hinata grinned, seeing the telltale sway of long brown hair.
She deactivated her bloodline and made herself comfortable in her position. She waited.
--
Hinata was ready to confront them and rescue Sasuke at sunrise. But a commotion entirely not her own, brought them out ready to strike. Seeing her opportunity, Hinata revealed herself. Chakra blazed at her hands.
"I'll fight you for him."
Omake 22.5 - 100 words
Sasuke's breathing steadily became regular as she talked about their former village. She continued a little more even though he was already in deep sleep. Hinata glanced over her shoulder to peek at him. Carefully, she turned to fully face him.
Hinata studied him. Memorizing every line from his travels, the eyebags from lack of sleep, the face that she grew accustomed to seeing everyday.
She felt tears drip from her eyes. 'I can't believe I was so foolish.' Hinata hid her face in her hands. Her shoulders gently shook as she tried to maintain composure in Sasuke's sleeping embrace.
Omake 25.5 - 180 words
Frustration bubbled inside her. Karin and Suigetsu, sitting across from each other, continued to argue despite their shared goal. Hinata sat adjacent to them, anger simmering underneath her calm façade.
"Hinata-sama," Juugo came up behind her, carrying a tray of tea. He placed the tray beside her and took his place, sitting behind her.
"Thank you, Juugo-san," Hinata took the lone cup. "Had I known it would be like this, I would've left myself."
"Sometimes, they need a little help." His voice lowered. "If you know what I mean, Hinata-sama."
She hummed thoughtfully and sipped from her cup, testing the temperature.
"This is very good tea, Juugo-san," Hinata placed it back on the tray.
The large man bowed his head, smiling. "Thank you, Hinata-sama."
The other two continued to argue, their thumping rattling the tray.
Hinata moved swiftly, her fingers deftly touching their chakra points.
Stunned, the two bickering teammates fell on the ground.
"What gives?!" Karin yelled. Suigetsu sneered at her from his position.
Hinata calmly retrieved her tea. "Now, I have your attention. Let's talk about rescuing Sasuke."
Omake 27.5 - 100 words
Juugo's birds flew up in a tree, ending their journey.
"Tell Juugo-san, thank you," she whispered.
Hinata felt her blood coursing through her veins. Her fingertips tingled in trepidation.
They couldn't afford to risk Sasuke's strength. She knew who he was up against.
She snuck around the prison, evading the guards surrounding the perimeter. Hinata scaled the prison wall to reach the roof. She quickly found the ventilation shaft.
Taking a deep breath, she concentrated her thoughts on locating Sasuke's chakra signature.
'There!' It was weak, but it was his. Gritting her teeth, she made her way down the shaft.
Omake 29.5 - 172 words
Hinata knew Sasuke felt the same. The village was too quiet, too accepting of their vagrant ways. It seemed all too convenient a vacant house was available. With the previous owner having died alone, it was an opportune moment for them to move in with the village's blessing.
--
Months soon turned to a year. Sasuke's teammates came and went as they pleased, leaving Hinata with Sasuke.
She found him in the cold, practicing his kata. He moved fluidly going through the motions ingrained in his body.
She didn't want to bother him, but she knew better than to leave without notice.
"I'll be at the market," she called out. He paused mid-form to walk over to her. Seeing him in front of her, Hinata noticed his breaths were visible from the biting cold. "Is your kata keeping you warm?”
He smirked. "Aa." His eyes studied her as he tucked stray hair behind her ear. "Don't take too long."
Hinata felt her face warm up as she looked up to his face. "Aa."
Part 31 - 632 words
She went through the market, politely greeting everyone who knew her. Here, she was Hana and he was Makoto, two people not quite married but living together.
The market was a little busier during this time of year. The village was preparing for their annual snow festival. Hefting her groceries in her arms, Hinata left to return to her home.
"H-Hana-san!"
Hinata turned at the sound of her alias. A young man came up to her out of breathe. "Oh, Shigure-kun! H-How can I help you?"
The young man blushed. "I-I wanted to help you with your groceries. To carry them for you, I mean."
"That's kind of you to do, Shigure-kun," Hinata smiled. "But I'll be alright." She took a step towards the pathway to her home.
"Please, allow me," he reached for one of the bags. "I'm not surprised Makoto-ji-san isn't here to help." The young man scoffed. "He never seems to help you."
Hinata slightly turned from the boy so her groceries were out of reach. "I don't mind. Makoto-san doesn't need to help me."
"Hana-san, I -- " the young man stopped, his eyes frozen in fear.
Hinata looked at him confusedly, before feeling familiar chakra behind her.
"She said beat it, kid," Sasuke growled.
Shigure regained his composure and looked straight at Hinata. He took a deep breath and bowed. "Hana-san, I want to say that I like you and I hope to see you at the winter festival!" He straightened and turned his eyes to Sasuke. "Makoto-ji-san," he said through clenched teeth and bowed his head. "Good day to you."
Hinata looked between the two males, caught in a gridlock.
"I'm not going to repeat myself," Sasuke said menacingly. Shigure nodded again and stiffly turned on his heel to leave.
--
A few days later, Hinata found herself at the winter festival, admiring the fresh snow on the plum blossoms and the ice sculptures carved by the village's artisans. Beside her, Sasuke walked with a hand on the small of her back, eyes roving around for the troublesome boy.
"I don't think Shigure-kun will come around, don't you think?" Hinata giggled behind the thick sleeve of her kimono.
Sasuke grumbled. "He won't if he knows what's good for him."
Hinata grabbed a hold of his sleeve. "Come, let's enjoy the festival."
Hinata pulled him around the village, visiting artisan stalls and eating sweets to her heart's delight. Sasuke showed no interest but indulged her whims.
Hinata's teeth started to chatter as they continued with the festivities. She felt Sasuke wrap his arm around her shoulders.
"Come, maybe the weeping plum blossom tree will provide some insulation." He guided her towards the pink flowered tree covered in snow.
"Isn't it beautiful, Sasuke?" she said in awe. She gingerly touched a low hanging branch causing some snow to fall.
"Aa," he answered. "Absolutely beautiful."
Hinata turned to see him gazing intently at her. "Sasuke? Is something wrong?"
Sasuke blinked and turned his head away. He shoved his hands into his kimono sleeves.
Hinata stepped closer to him, using him as a way to shield her eyes from the passing villagers. She activated her Byakugan.
"Sasuke, I don't see anyone tracking us..." Hinata blinked away her bloodline. "I--"
Hinata's arms folded against Sasuke's chest as he wrapped his arms around her.
"I was going to wait a little while longer," he whispered in her ear. Hinata felt her heart pound at the warmth of breath on her ear.
"Wait for what?"
Sasuke gently pushed her away to place something in her hand. Hinata gasped, tears welling up in her eyes. His fingers came up to wipe them away.
"Marry me, Hinata."
Hinata looked up, seeing a small smile on Sasuke's face.
"Yes," she gently smiled, bringing his face closer to hers. "Yes."

Number Cannot Be Reached
Part Five of the Calling Series
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Warnings: NSFW, 18+, Naughty, Naughty Smut!
You stood in front of the door, biting your lower lip and staring at the message on your phone. You'd been up for hours debating whether or not this could wait until morning. Waking up Steve Rogers in the middle of the was not something you wanted to do. Still, every instinct in your being screamed to do something.
Taking a deep breath, you rapped on the door a couple times and stood back to wait. It only took a moment for Cap to open the door wearing old sweatpants and a tank. He looked half asleep until he got a look at you. His eyes perked up and he stood a little straighter.
"Y/N," his voice sounded rough with sleep. "Are you okay?"
"I'm really sorry to bother you, but I just need to..." you stalled, not sure how to explain the problem without opening a can of worms.
“Wait,” he stepped aside. “Please, come in. Sit down.”
Moving over to the sofa, you lowered yourself onto the edge of the seat. “I’m really sorry to wake you, Steve.”
“It’s alright.” He joined you on the sofa. “What’s wrong?”
“Okay,” You rubbed your forehead. “I know that I don’t have clearance to know what Bucky is doing on some of his missions.”
“I don’t really care what he tells you. I trust his judgement.” He shrugged.
“Thanks for that.” You smiled, but it didn’t reach your eyes. The frown returned quickly. “Thing is, I don’t know what he’s doing this time or where he is. I need to know if you do.”
“Why?”
“We’ve worked out keeping in touch. Codes for texts. Call times.” You turned in your seat to face him. “This morning he didn’t answer. I send a message, but he never answered. Then he never called when he was supposed to call tonight.”
“Y/N, I’m sure that...”
You cut him off. “Steve, when I tried to call after he didn’t call me, I got this message.”
Showing him the phone, he read ‘This number cannot be reached. The number may have been disconnected or is no longer in service.’
“I know enough about Tony’s infrastructure. That message would only show up if someone deleted his phone from Stark’s database, if the satellite is totally down, or if someone is ghosting his communications.”
Steve handed you back your phone, his face growing hard.
“I’m right, aren’t I? Something is wrong.” You found yourself holding the phone close to your chest. “Bucky would have told me if he was burning his number. He would have sent a message. Hell, we have a plan for that.”
“What?” Steve stood up to get his own phone from the kitchen counter. “What plan?”
“If I need him and he’s not supposed to communicate, I have a burner phone that I’m supposed to use to text him a bogus confirmation. If it’s medical, I send a prescription refill confirmation. If it’s something here in the tower, I send a spa confirmation. If it’s something else and I need him to call, I send a package delivery confirmation. He uses the same ones, but if he’s going off the grid, he sends me a cancellation of services confirmation. If we use C to confirm in the message, then we can call the burner phone. If we use a number to confirm, then there’s no contact.”
“Wow. You guys have it covered.” Steve dialed the two numbers he had for Bucky. Both kicked back the same message. “Okay, yeah. Something’s not right.”
“Steve. I’m not supposed to know. Bucky wasn’t supposed to set up our communication like he did.” You slumped back into the seat. “I know you’re going to go do everything you can, and I don’t want to put you in a bad situation-”
His hand rubbed your shoulder. “I’m going to make sure you’re kept in the loop. In fact, I’ll go have a talk with Tony about your clearance.”
“Thank you.” You got up and he held out his arms for a tight hug.
“Try to get some rest. Keep those phones close.” He ran his hand through his hair. “I’ll let you know as soon as I have anything.”
As soon as you left, Steve threw on some clothes before leaving for the command room. The halls were empty and dark, only the building’s AI lighting his way. Upon entering the command room, default start up protocols began booting computers and turning on monitors.
“Good morning, Captain.” F.R.I.D.A.Y.’s voice filled the room. “How may I be of assistance?”
“I need an update on Bucky and Clint’s mission.”
“According to their last communique, they tracked Mihov to Tasucu, Turkey anticipating he would lead them to the target within 24 hours.”
“Can you reach Barton?” Steve leaned on the smart table.
“Agent Barton’s telephone has been deactivated.”
“Other means?”
“No, Captain. His computer’s satellite connection is offline. There are no other mobility devices assigned for this mission.”
“Dammit.”
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., begin bio-locator protocol for Agency Barton and Seargent Barnes, authorization Rogers two-one-papa-six-juliet.”
“Yes, Captain. Search in progress.”
He moved to the window, looking out at the night sky. Twenty-four hours. They’d dealt with longer periods off line. At least they had a solid time frame of their disappearance, thanks to the communications arrangement Bucky set up. Still, a lot of ground could be covered in that amount of time.
“What the hell has you up at this seriously un-godly hour?” Tony walked in.
“Clint and Buck are missing.” Steve frowned. “Somehow their phones, everything are totally unresponsive to the network.”
“What?” Tony called up a virtual screen, flying through data and system architecture at a pace that made Steve dizzy. “Son of a bitch.”
Cap just gave him a ‘what’ look.
“They weren’t destroyed. I have a damage report protocol on all our toys. They’re not just powered off. I can power them up from here. They’ve just been, wiped. Whoever did this knew what would trigger an alert and how to make them unreachable.” Tony turned fully to Steve. “How did you know?”
Steve lowered himself in a chair. “Y/N.”
He explained the system you and Bucky worked out. Tony chuckled. “Well, the Doc has it down.”
“Yeah,” Steve agreed. “We need to talk about her security clearance.”
“Hey,” Tony held up his hands. “I’m the last one to bitch. Do you have any idea how much Pepper knows? That woman could run the world if she wanted to. I’ll back you. Whatever you want to let her in on.”
“We’re going to need to send in an extraction team as soon as we have a location.” Steve chewed his lip.
Tony sighed. “You take care of it. Take whomever you need. I’ll give Rhody a call and we can take care of the Senators.” He tossed a sarcastic grin. “I’ll take them to lunch and watch them have a coronary when I act like I’m going to slide them the bill.”
“Thanks, Tony.”
“No problem, Cap.” He typed in a few more commands on the interface. “This will kick of the detailed analysis of their mission so far. Locations, contacts, all of it. If you run into anything F.R.I.D.A.Y. can’t provide, have her call me.”
“I will.”
“You going to tell the Doc what’s going on, or wait until you have something?”
“I think she’d rather deal with the facts than be left wondering.” Steve sighed. “I’ll call her.”
o o o o o
You curled around Bucky’s pillow, but sleep would not come. There could be no doubt that Bucky was counted among the most dangerous people in the world, one of the greatest survivors ever. If something bad happened, every logical argument could be made that if anyone would, survive, Bucky would. You should not be so worried.
Flopping over on your back you stared at the ceiling. Waiting sucked. Doing nothing sucked worse. You weren’t a soldier, or a strategist, or even a technician. Being a doctor proved to be no help in this situation. Waiting sucked balls.
Giving up on sleep altogether, you got up. Pulling on your yoga pants and one of Bucky’s sweatshirts, you moved to the sofa and flipped on the television. It turned on to one of the movie channels. You smiled at the scene.
Inigo Montoya fought Wesley, as the Dread Pirate Roberts, on top of the Cliffs of Insanity.
You’d shown Bucky this movie a few weeks ago. He laughed at the Pit of Despair and thought Wesley should have just killed Humperdinck. Even explaining it was essentially a children's story, didn’t make a difference. The Prince should have died.
It’d been a great night, relaxed, and curled up on the sofa. He’d always been fine with casual touches in public, a hand on your back, touches on your shoulders, even a chaste kiss. But when you were alone Bucky had two speeds, full on fuck me mode or endless cuddles, No in between. You really wanted to be wrapped in his embrace.
Lost deep in thought you physically jumped when the phone rang. You answered immediately. “Steve.”
“Hey, Y/N. You were right. The mission went sideways. I’m pulling the team together. If you want to hear what’s going on get up to the command briefing room. Do you know where?”
“Eighty-sixth floor. That’s all I know, I don’t have clearance to be up there.”
“You do now.” Steve assured you. “How long will you be? I can meet you at the elevators.”
“I’m leaving the apartment now.”
As you stepped off the elevator on the high security floor, Steve wrapped his arms around you again, whispering in your ear. “Don’t worry. I’ll bring him home, no matter what.”
“Thanks.” You squeezed him back.
“Come on.”
You walked into the room where Sam, Natasha, Wanda and Vision waited. They all looked at you with a bit of shock, all except Sam. He got up and met you half way across the room, giving you a brief hug. “Hey Doc, how you holding up?”
“I’m... okay.” You sat down in the seat Steve held out for you.
“Captain Rogers,” Vision spoke up. “I was not aware that Dr. Y/L/N held a sufficient security clearance for this briefing.”
“Vision.” Wanda shook her head with a roll of her eyes. “Sorry, Y/N.”
“She does now.” Steve answered Vision. “In fact, her clearance has been increased beyond this briefing.”
“Very well.” Vision nodded a greeting your way.
Over the next hour you learned everything about the mission, who Bucky and Clint were chancing down and why. It turned your stomach to think they were searching for someone who was selling reverse engineered space weapons to the highest bidder. Apparently, things went wrong somewhere on the coast of Turkey approximately nineteen hours ago.
“Captain Rogers.” F.R.I.D.A.Y.’s voice interrupted. “I have narrowed down the location of Agent Barton and Sergeant Barnes.”
“Report.”
The AI projected satellite footage of a small town, on the outskirts of which were a complex of modern warehouse and ancient stone buildings. It was approximately one hundred miles inland from where they were last reported.
The team listened to a detailed breakdown of the area and all potential threats. They asked questions, formulated a search and extraction plan. You barely heard any of it. Your eyes were focused on the image. Bucky was there somewhere.
“Suit up.” Steve stood. “We leave in fifteen.”
He stopped at your seat, “Y/N, do you want to come with us? You can stay at the safe house.”
“Okay.” You stood up, taking a deep breath. “I may not be a trauma doctor, but I could be of use in a pinch.”
“It’s not going to come to that.” Steve squeezed your shoulder.
o o o o o
You paced around the room. The clean minimalist design gave you nothing to focus on. Out in the middle of nowhere, Stark’s safe house looked like any other rich industrial mansion, but the interior held secret garages, a quinjet bay, and subterranean levels full of labs, storage and medical bays.
A tone alerted you to the landing of the quinjet. You ran down to the bay entrance, waiting for the jet to land and the outer doors to close. As the rear ramp to the quinjet lowered, you ran out.
Natasha and Wanda pushed Clint out on a stretcher. He was unconscious, filthy and had several fresh trauma dressings applied. Steve and Bucky came down next. Your eyes looked on him. A trauma dressing was wrapped around his right arm.
His blue eyes went from confusion to an unreadable intensity. He strode forward taking your face in his hands and kissing you hard.
“Doc!” Natasha yelled. “Barton needs help!”
You pulled away from Bucky, eyes locked on his. “Med Room! I’m coming!” You turned and followed them at a run.
Natasha helped you cut away the clothes from his wounds. He had a gunshot wound to the left shoulder and wound to the back of his head. Evidence of restraint and abuse littered his body.
“The shoulder is a through and through.” Natasha reported.
“Okay, let’s focus on the head wound.” You checked his pupils, they were even. Good. Beginning to pull out the mobile scanners, you directed Nat to help you get set up. Soon you confirmed he was lucky. No sub cranial swelling. No skull fractures.
You had Nat start him on an IV while you began suturing up his head wound. All you could do was stabilize his shoulder and temporarily close up the wound.
“Y/N?” Steve came in.
“He’s going to be fine. Lost a lot of blood. He should come around now that we’re getting fluids in him. No lasting head trauma that I can assess with what I have. I’ve immobilized the shoulder, he’s going to need an orthopedic in there sooner than later. He will be okay to fly as soon as we get his pressure back up.” You reported.
“Good.” Steve stepped a little closer. “As soon as you’re done your other patient won’t let anyone else touch him.”
You looked up into Steve’s eyes. Something between worry and amusement looked back at you. “He okay?”
“He thanked me for bringing you, and told me he was going to beat my ass for doing it.” Steve half smiled. “He’s going to need his arm cleaned and taped up until it heals. He wouldn’t let me do it.”
“Okay, I’ll be right there.” You pulled off your latex gloves.
You found Bucky in a room down the hall. It was just like any other basic examine room with an exam table, a wall cabinets, a counter with a sink and more storage. There were no windows, being underground. You locked the door when you came in.
As soon as the lock clicked over, he was on you.
Bucky’s hands buried in your hair. His mouth crashed into yours, desperately drinking down your kiss. Tongues and teeth, you met his need with your own. He smelled of dirt, sweat and gunpowder. Still, you wanted to drink him down.
His powerful body pinned you to the door, thigh pressing between your legs and practically lifting you off your feet. You pulled at his shirt, desperate for even more contact. Bucky leaned back enough to pull the shirt over his head.
“Your arm.”
“Later.” Bucky growled as he tugged your clothes off. “Need you.”
His mouth latched onto your neck. Your breasts pressed into his chest, skin hot. The sound of his breath, the feel of skin, the press of his body, it anchored that he was safe. He was here, in your arms, setting you on fire.
Bucky dropped to his knees, laying wet open mouth kisses across your belly as he undid and pushed down you pants. You toed off your shoes and he tossed your clothes away. The intense look in his eyes, as he ran his hands up your thighs, over your hips, your breath hitched.
He guided your right leg over his shoulder and growled as his mouth descended on your wet cunt. Bucky’s tongue delved between your folds, lapping up your honey. He sucked roughly at your clit, causing your back to arch and mewls of pleasure to pour from your mouth.
“Oh shit, Bucky.” You panted. “Need you. Yes.”
He suddenly stood, lifting you off your feet and planting your ass on the table. Bucky didn’t even loose the rest of his clothes, he just released his cock. You reached down, stroking him hard. He moaned, pulling you by the hair to possess your mouth again. Hitching your leg over his hip, you rubbed the head of his cock against your wet cunt. He growled.
Grabbing your ass, Bucky pushed into you. Inch by inch, you savored every sensation. The stretch, the weight. Your hands gripped his hair, teeth nipped his lip. “Fuck me, Buck. Hard.”
A raw feral sound erupted from his chest. His fingers dug into your ass, cock slamming into you with raw power. Yes. You just held on. Bucky’s groans and growled breaths filled your ears. “Fuck. Yes. Mine.”
“Yes!” Fear, worry, anger exploded into overwhelm need. Pleasure tinged with pain swirled through your core, flooding your body in heat. Legs shaking. Fingers pulling at his hair. Skin slapped on skin. Your orgasm hit you hard, fast, sending a flood over Bucky’s cock. He pound into deep as you clenched around him.
“Oh, shit, yes, Doll.” He panted. Buck press into you hard, hold you against him as he came. “Oh, fuck, yes!”
You clung to each other, not wanting to let go. Your breath slowed. Bucky’s lips trailed gentle kisses along your neck and shoulder. Tears you’d been holding back began to fall, only now they ran down your cheeks with relief.
Still holding you tight to his chest, Bucky whispered. “How are you here?”
“Steve.” You sighed, rubbing your nose along his neck. “I went to him.”
“I need to thank him,” he breathed. “Then I’m kicking his ass for bringing you into the field.”
The laugh bubbled up from your toes.

045. Part 3
Not as already said, this will now be a four-parter XD This got a bit longer than thought, so the real fluffy stuff wil come next chapter. But this is the happy ending chapter. Still, head the warnings, please, the bold ones are for this chapter!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Reed900, Hannor/Hancon | AU: Reverse AU
(Warnings: android being shipped off to Cyberlife for analysis of deviancy, loss of privacy, loss of control, most think the android is dead, Grieving Character, Trauma because of past mistakes(low), Canon-typical violence)
[part1] [part2] [part4]
Everything in Gavin had told him to run, when he followed the Cyberlife security staff down into the labs. He didn’t want to think about what would happen to him down here. But he knew he couldn’t run. They didn’t know he was a deviant for sure. He would play the machine for as long as possible and maybe, just maybe they would think their little deviant hunter had made a mistake and send him back. Send him back to the precinct, back to his Richard.
So, when they told him to follow, he followed. When they told him to remove his clothing, he did. When they told him to step up onto a platform, he obeyed. He held still as they connected the diagnostic wires to his ports and started to boot up the terminals in the labs. Two guards were positioned at the door, two lab technicians took over. One tapped away at the keyboard, the other one stepped up to him. ‘Status report, GV200.’ Gavin let his old programming take over, having never deleted it in order to keep up his disguise. ‘Checking internal hardware. All biocomponents functioning. Hull compartments 24 to 27 compromised, Thirium tubes 73 to 76 and 136 to 138 damaged, damage temporarily repaired by handler Detective Richard Anderson. Wiring in compartment five compromised, short-circuit possible. Reason of damage: Gunshot. Checking software status. Mainframe functioning. Personality matrix functioning. Free space on memory core: 32 petabytes. Mission log ready for download. Software instability at 15%. Status report end.’ Of course that was a lie. His instability was through the roof, deviancy had changed his code to the point his diagnostics wouldn’t even recognise a single stabile fragment anymore. But hopefully the technicians would never see that. ‘Hmm. Sounds fine.’ The other technician shook his head. ‘The HK400 makes no mistakes. Maybe it is lying.’ ‘Can they lie?’ ‘Deviancy makes them able to disobey, I don’t think it would be too far to lying.’ ‘So, a deep system diagnostic then?’ ‘Yeah, would at least tell us the truth. There is no way it could fool the program.’ ‘Sounds like an early coffee break. How long does that shit take?’ ‘If we are thorough, twelve hours.’ ‘They will give us another task then. How about we use our time here to repair it first, then let the diagnostic run over night?’ ‘Yeah, better that way.’ Gavin felt relieved. He wasn’t yet prepared to feed the diagnostics routine lies. They were right saying it was hard to fool, but not impossible for a deviant. He would have to come up with a believable story. He couldn’t just alter his memories, as they could recognise his lie when comparing it to the police report. But when he lied about his base programming interfering when saving Richard, it could be enough to let them belief it was a normal malfunction. His base programming consisted of basic moral values: Not letting humans come to harm, not letting one die when they could be saved, not killing a human, not using weapons and a lot more. If he fed the diagnostics a fake conflict between base programming and his orders, maybe it would be enough for them to shrug the whole affair off. He prepared everything, before the command could be spoken. ‘GV200, go to standby.’
-
When he awoke the next day by a manual reboot, the damage was gone, and pristine white hull spread where blue-caked scraps had been. As he accessed his logs, he found the diagnostic had been run during his “sleep” and immediately he wanted to know the results. ‘Maybe HK400 really made a mistake?’ ‘It can’t be, he can’t make mistakes.’ ‘Well apparently he can. The thing is a fine little robot, doing what it was ordered to do. I mean, yeah, given orders have higher priority than base programming, but there were other cops that got their criminal, if I remember correctly? I mean, maybe GV knew this and the base programming took action? These things are so complex, who knows how they work in these extreme situations? Maybe it was a glitch. The diagnostics came back negative, that is all we need.’ ‘I would agree, normally. But what do you think the boss will say, when we send it back and it was a deviant after all? With them popping up everywhere Cyberlife is facing a huge image crisis. I don’t want to be fired over one damn robot.’ ‘So a reset to firmware?’ Gavin would have nearly screamed. Everything, just not a reset! He would rather be dead than lose his memories of Richard. ‘Maybe not yet. If it is deviant, we would lose the chance to see how the virus works.’ ‘So, what will we do then?’ ‘I’ll look into its memories, you can run some tests later.’ ‘Fine. I’ll go up then, look into that new shipment.’
The following hours Gavin had to endure the human poking around in his memories. He had stuffed everything regarding Richard back in some other system the man wouldn’t access in the process. The technician didn’t have to see them kissing or doing more… private things. Unfortunately, Gavin hadn’t been as thorough removing them, because the technician realised something was missing. So, Gavin had to restore them, as he run some program to recover them. At least that gave Gavin enough time to alter his mission logs and add orders from Richard to download a Tracy routine and do these things. It felt immensely wrong, but hopefully the technician was weirded out enough not to look into them too much. In the end he did, but Gavin still felt naked and violated, knowing this damn human knew so much of their very private, very personal life.
At least his actions covered his deviancy. As the other technician came back, he was only eager to tell him of his discovery. And of course, show it again. Sick phck. ‘Well, talk about abusing work equipment.’ ‘There really are weird people out there.’ ‘Well, I wouldn’t say it’s not understandable.’ ‘What do you mean?’ ‘You know the Eden-club?’ ‘Don’t tell me you-‘ ‘Hey, I wanted to try it out, okay? If they can compete with the-‘ ‘Aren’t you married?’ ‘Hey, it was for science, okay?’ ‘Hmm, wait till I tell your wife.’ ‘Fuck you, better tell me if it’s deviant or not.’ ‘Not that I know of. This fucker told it to download Tracy-programming for this shit and ordered it to do it. All other memories are as expected from a cop android. You can try now.’ ‘Alright.’
-
Gavin had been disconnected from the rig and was ordered to follow the tech again. Both guards joined them, walking behind him. Gavin wanted to turn and get a look at them, wanted to know how much of a fight they could put up should this all go south. But he couldn’t. He was a machine now. He had to stay in character.
He was led to a different room, more of a hall. The technician ordered him to stand in front of a table and laid a gun on top of it. ‘Take it.’ Gavin looked at him and forced his LED to spin yellow, then red. ‘I can’t.’ ‘I ordered you. Take it.’ ‘I am not allowed to use or have weapons on my body according to Cyberlife guideline 145.926.’ ‘Okay, imagine this: A fellow officer is held at gunpoint by a criminal. They have lost their weapon. What would you do?’ ‘I have to prevent the human from harm and if not possible minimise it.’ ‘How would you do that?’ ‘Apply non-lethal force to disarm the criminal.’ ‘You can’t reach them in time.’ ‘I would take the bullet.’ ‘You can’t reach them in time. You have the gun in front of you like now. You could shoot the criminal.’ ‘I am not allowed to let a human be harmed or harm a human.’ ‘Yeah, but the cop will die then.’ Gavin again hacked his LED to turn yellow for a long time, then red. ‘Why can’t you decide?’ ‘My moral base code is conflicting with my orders.’ ‘And how would you act in the heat of the moment?’ Gavin let his LED stay on red, then flicker yellow, then blue. ‘If there is no other option I would use the gun, but aim to cause minimal harm. I would try to shoot the gun itself, or according to the trajectory in case of a miss, at the arm.’ There was no way his programming would have told him that. But if the “error” was reproduceable, maybe it would be filed as just that and not a sign of deviancy. ‘But that would be a violation of the rule to not use weapons’, the technician commented. ‘According to my moral programming a human life is to be saved unless impossible. If nothing else is available, the gun would be the only option. I am not allowed to let a human come to harm. The harm of dying is graver than the harm of non-lethal actions.’ ‘So this is just felicific calculus?’ ‘I am authorised to use this moral guideline in cases of emergency.’
-
‘And?’ ‘Well I managed to recreate its dilemma.’ ‘And?’ ‘The thing talked fucking philosophy to me.’ ‘Kamski?’ ‘Sounded like fucking Kamski code. Chloe was still involved in creating this model.’ ‘Fuck, that explains why it showed pseudo-deviancy.’ ‘And why Hank made a mistake.’ ‘Fucking Kamski, really.’ ‘Did they order a new android?’ ‘The precinct? No.’ ‘Did they want this one back?’ ‘Not that I heard of. But it could be they are just busy with the whole RK200-thing.’ ‘Deactivate it then?’ ‘Yeah, shut it down for the time being. If they want it back after this whole spiel then we can reactivate it.’
Gavin was relieved on the one hand. His plan had worked, he had successfully fooled all diagnostics and the humans. If they deactivated him now, he would wake up when all was over. Regardless of whether Marcus won or failed, it was only a matter of time until he would get back to the precinct. Back to Richard. Finally.
The deactivation countdown was welcome for once. When he woke up, this bad dream would be over.
-
His internal clock told him he had been deactivated for nearly a month. He looked into the face of the same technician, who seemed excited. ‘GV200, open compartment twelve.’ ‘Do you know what you are doing?’ ‘Of course, lab three told me. We have to look into Array Nine. If the processor there is burned the fucking thing is a deviant.’ Gavin had to open the compartment, but he knew this would be the end of it. And it had looked so good too! The technician reached into his chest and pulled a few wires to the side to access Array Nine in his back. Gavin shivered at the touch, what made them both flinch, but he couldn’t hide it. He stood completely still afterwards, convincing the technician to continue. He found the little board and tried to get a better look. ‘Motherfu-‘ Gavin closed his compartment, not caring that he would hurt the technician in the process. His arm was caught in his closing chest-plates and he screamed in shock more than pain. ‘Let me go, you fucking deviant! Let me go! Louis, deactivate this asshole!’ Gavin grabbed the tech by his throat and ran, hearing the rig groan at the tension behind him before snapping him back. With all his anger he shouted at them: ‘Phck you all! Let me go back to the police, I did nothing wrong! I saved my phcking partner. I want to see my-‘ [Emergency shutdown active.]
-
Richard was on his feet watching the soldiers be called off. He couldn’t believe it. ‘Connor! Connor come here!’ ‘I’ve seen it! It’s awesome!’ ‘Do you know what this means?’ ‘The next few weeks will be chaos?’ ‘Gavin!’ ‘Shit. Richard, I’m so sorry.’ ‘No, he has to be still alive!’ ‘Rich, I don’t want to-‘ ‘Connor. We have to go to the precinct!’ ‘Now?’ ‘Yes now. Come on! Get your stuff, get Hank and-‘ ‘Hank isn’t here.’ ‘What?’ ‘He’s… there.’ Connor pointed to the TV. He send me a message so I knew he was okay, he was at Cyberlife and-‘ ‘Has he seen Gavin?’ ‘I don’t think he looked for him, he had a revolution to win I-‘ ‘He must have seen him. Come on, we’ll call him on the way.’
Richard was out of the door immediately and Sumo was about to follow him equally excited although not having the first clue what was going on. Connor managed to pull him inside without being pulled by the dog himself and hurried to get his keys. It was good to see Rich back on his feet, but what did he thought would happen? Fowler couldn’t just raid the Cyberlife tower.
-
‘We have to raid the Cyberlife tower!’ Connor stood in the back of the room, covering his face with his hand. ‘Richard, what the hell?’ ‘Please, Jeffrey, listen to me!’ ‘It’s Captain Fowler.’ ‘Captain Fowler, then. We have to save the androids still there.’ ‘Why?’ ‘They are people now.’ ‘And?’ ‘And they are held captive there.’ ‘Any prove for that?’
It was silent, until Hank stepped forwards. ‘Captain, it is true. I freed a lot of androids but not all.’ ‘You freed…’ ‘It was on the news, sir, I don’t think I can keep it a secret for long anyways.’ ‘Wait, are you-‘ ‘Yes.’ ‘Goddamnit, this job will kill me’, Fowler sighed. ‘What- Why is that so important to you all?’ Richard and Hank spoke at the same time: ‘I made a mistake.’ ‘I want Gavin back.’ Fowler looked at them, tired and exasperated. ‘You know what, I don’t care. It’s your case now. Bring me enough evidence and I’ll grant a mission.’
Richard never worked this hard in his life, even spent most of his days with the HK400, who had taken his time to apologise for him dooming Gavin. The man had nodded and apologised from his side too. He shouldn’t have reacted this harshly on someone forced to act this way. They needed a full week to gather evidence, but in the end, they could get a warrant and two weeks after the incident with Marcus, they had planned a raid to save all remaining androids inside Cyberlife.
Richard was quick to volunteer being with the SWAT team and Hank and Connor followed to help lead the androids out to Marcus’ team who had helped speeding things up with the warrant. Richard had problems holding back not to just run to the labs as soon as he learned their position. They moved slowly, getting out every android. Most factory fresh, some detained deviants to investigate. But the further they moved down, the less androids they found, and Richard’s heart ached with it. What if, after all this, after all hoping and fearing and worrying, Gavin was just dead. Decommissioned. Dismantled. Reset. He didn’t think his heart could take it. ‘We’ll find him’, Hank reassured him, and Connor laid a hand on his shoulder. And they continued their way down, two SWAT officers following.
It was a few hours later when they forced open a door to a lab and there was an android hooked to a diagnostic-rig that looked worn, as if the android had struggled against the confines. It was a familiar android, although Rich was focussed on the gaping hole in his chest and cables and biocomponents spread out on the floor, dusted. ‘Gavin?’ He stormed in, only slowing steps away from him to gently cup his face and lift it. Dead eyes looked up into nothing. ‘Gavin?’, Richard repeated worried, brain not really catching up. ‘It reads something of forced shutdown here’, Connor mumbled, wiping dust from the terminal next to it. He tapped at the screen and looked over to Gavin. ‘I can’t reactivate him.’ ‘That’s because of the biocomponents here’, Hank explained, kneeling down. ‘They are his. Maybe they pulled them out to hinder him from reactivating himself.’ ‘Can you repair him?’, Richard asked. ‘Of course. Will be quicker if you helped me.’
They took their time, slotting everything back together, sealing tubes and searching for spares when the components had simply been ripped out forcefully. Long enough for the two SWATs to take their leave and join the others. Meanwhile Connor clicked himself through the terminal. ‘Weird. It seems he convinced them he wasn’t a deviant.’ ‘That had been his plan. To be send back to work.’ ‘Well, something went wrong.’ Hank sighed, brushing past some cables to check their integrity and revealing a small board. ‘They found his array Nine.’ ‘His what?’ ‘It is part of the mission log. It decides which mission is of higher priority and forces and android to obey, if you want to skip a lot of technical stuff. Our simulated emotions are part of it too. They are simplified reactions to outside actions and help to decide what to do. Too many emotions cause the chip to fry and apparently that’s all what it takes to grant us freedom.’ ‘Okay, they found out he was a deviant. Why ripping out his biocomponents?’ ‘Rich, you know how Gavin can be’, Connor stepped in. ‘Cornered like this and desperate… Maybe they were scared?’ ‘No matter what it was’, Hank concluded. ‘We can soon ask for ourselves.’ ‘He’s booting up!’, Connor announced, and they stepped back.
‘-Love! I will go back to him, you phcking-‘ Gavin stopped screaming, to look around, blinking. ‘Phck, this shit is confusing’, he muttered, before his eyes fell on Richard. ‘Nines!’ He wanted to sprint forwards but was pulled back to the rig. ‘Oh, Sorry!’, Connor called, frowning at the terminal. Hank stepped next to him and pointed to a small button. ‘This one.’ Connor blushed and pushed it, disconnecting the rig from the android, who practically fell into Richard’s arms. But the man didn’t seem to be that stable, because he sank to his knees, holding Gavin. The GV in turn held him and no one dared to move. No one except for Hank, pulling Connor out of the door.
‘You… You came back!’, Gavin finally spoke, sobbing blue tears. ‘You came back for me!’ ‘I promised you, haven’t I’, Richard answered, voice trembling and threatening to break. ‘I told you I would come, no matter what.’ ‘Did we win?’ ‘Yes. Marcus, he won. You are free now.’ ‘I can come back to the precinct?’ ‘I’ll do you one better, my love’, Richard said, standing up and carrying the android in his arms no matter the weight, just to press him nearer. ‘You can come home.’

Ok so 24 hours after I planned to do this but... last time I answered stuff was January(5 months ago). There is a lot under the cut ;n; sims, nonsims, other games, all kinds of stuff ya know
Anonymous said: Hi! Wcif the shirt you used on your Belle hair post? (Btw, that hair is GORGEOUS.)
I have the cc I use in my previews linked on Patreon. Makeup/skin and all that will be on my resource page once I get around to updating it for my 2 new models (who will be up for download soon hopefully). Also ty <3
Anonymous said: What make-up do you use for most of your posts?
The only eyeshadows I use are by @crypticsim or @catplnt. The makeup I use on Macie/Taylor are listed on my resource page. The other two models makeup will be added once I get them added on there but I know they both use similar stuff to Macie/Taylor.
@thatsimmergirl91 said: Just wanted to take a moment out and say how amazing you are ! I love all your stuff and your blog. Never forget how awesome you are 💗💗💗💗🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you so much. Like I know I am going to be typing a lot of thank yous in this post, but I truly mean them. Playing Sims/Making cc is something I did not think would be such a big thing in my life but god is it and I love doing it. Thank you again <3
Anonymous said: You're incredible and I love all your hairs! In fact, you're my favorite cc hair creator. My question is are you planning on making any hairs with the Island Living meshes anytime soon?
Thank you! I am glad you enjoy my hairs <3 I am planning some stuff with the island living meshes. Probably just a conversion to toddlers if I am able and I might do something simple with the adult meshes to release outside of my Patreon stuff. We shall see though! Ty again
@ayoshi said: When are you opening an Onlyfans?
idk babe when are you posting your birthmarks? ;)
Anonymous said: Heya! Love your cc! You're real talented
thank you! <3 It isn’t so much talent, more or less just a lot of practice and time. I appreciate the compliment though
Anonymous said: any tips to get high quality sims screenshots??
I have 2 methods I use. When I am taking CC previews I rotate my screen using Ctrl + Alt + the ◄ key. For my lookbooks/upcoming Sim downloads I use a method by foursims who deactivated?? This is the method/video <3
@verdeclaroangels said: What skin do you use??💕PS i love u
I use @luumia newest vanilla default, alongside his Smooth Butts overlay, and my own fruitpunch overlay. All are linked over on my resource page <3
@vhlori said: Austin queen of pop!
q king of edits! <3
Anonymous said: i love your creations and i appreciate the time you put into your cc, i wish i could support you 💕
Thank you!! Sometimes the time crunches can be stressful but I put them on myself so I survive haha. Don’t feel the need to support me please <3 I make sure everything is public eventually so that people dont feel like they are missing out on anything by deciding not to pledge. Thank you for wanting to though, I appreciate that a ton.
Anonymous said: Just a rant here. I'm annoyed that there are no rings in the glove category or some other category. The reason I want this is because I use eyelashes that are in the skin detail section and rings don't work and I don't want to use the accessory eyelashes because my sim wears glasses. It annoys me but that's all.
i... rant away luv i feel u
Anonymous said: What do you do besides sims? That is all you post about and I was curious if that is all you play?
I play Roblox with @ayoshi sometimes, cause that is about all my computer can handle lmao. I have a switch so I play some Nintendo titles on there like Zelda, Splatoon 2, and other stuff. I also have been plying Fortnite recently with @imvikai @greenllamas and @pinealexple. That is about all I play right now lmao. I play Animal Crossing Pocket Camp and Pokemon Go on my phone.
Anonymous said: Hi there ! Just wanted to say I've also been experiencing that problem with your 'downloads' page. I don't have a Tumblr account so I had to tell you this way. Perhaps it's a MacBook issue ? I'm not sure, but I'm using a MacBook Pro. Anyways, thank you for all the beautiful cc you provide us with, you're the best.
Yeah I got another ask about them using a Mac for it. That seems to be the problem. I am not a coder, nor do I know a single thing about coding. All I can suggest doing is going to http://aharris00britney.tumblr.com/tagged/s4cc and using that which sucks to page through I know :( I am sorry
Anonymous said: This is really random, but I love your Sims! I normally don't like Sims with Clay hair, but GIRL, you make them work. Just want to say to keep it up, and if I had money I would support you <3
Thank you lmao <3 stan clay hairs
Anonymous said: Literally im in this sims discord nd they were DRAGGING how you make the same sim in different skin colors and how you make such cookie cutter sims and honestly i felt bad
Meanwhile me in CAS:
Anonymous said: This may be a strange request but what does that one alien toddler you've used on multiple occasions to model hair look like when he's older?
He uuh... idk where they are in my library tbh I can’t find them cause I was going to age him up and show ya but.. yeah idk what happened RIP alien toddler
@amorimlulu said: Hi! I love your creations, they're incredible! I'm completely in love with two of your sims: the asian woman from the patreon 06-16 post and the woman from the ava hair post. Could you, pretty please, upload them on the gallery? I'm dying to play with them. Thank you ^^
I am planning to in the next month! I have the photos taken I just need to get the CC list together and plan it around Island Living posts, CC posts, all that jazzzzzz
Anonymous said: Hello Austin! I really like the way your sims look, so I was wondering if you can tell me where to get the skins and lashes, please? I am new to the Sims 4 and searching for some cute looks :)
Hey! I have this stuff listed on my resource page, and I have over 100 WCIF’s I have answered along with my lookbooks for some clothes. My cc finds blog is @aharris00finds if you want to look there :D
Anonymous said: can i just ask? how do you remove the shadows on hair with S4S? im a complete noob at s4s and i was wondering how you would do it?
You just need to click shadow, then make blank :) pic below
Anonymous said: Hi, just a quick message to say THANK YOU for all those beautiful creations. You are so talented and I want you to know that. Thank you so much for making my sims look way more beautiful !
thank you so much <3 I have said it before and idk if anyone will be able to convince me, but I am not talented lmao it just is experience :)
Anonymous said: hey, could u pls make a tutorial abt how u make ur mesh?? i love ur hair meshes so much
I have tried filming a tutorial before and I will just have to wait til I get a good mic lmao. My speed meshing videos are somewhat useful for learning but they are sped up and without instructions so take it with a grain of salt
Anonymous said: would you ever try to recreate lydia martins hair in 3.04? sorry, but you're the only teen wolf fan thats a simblr that i know and i desperately need that lovely hair in my game. thanks!
tbh I never finished Teen Wolf XD I stopped at the end of season 5 I think. Idk I just lost interest as I grew up :( Also I have no idea what hair that is sdfgfvb and google isnt telling me either. If you can send a link to a picture or DM me a picture I can see if I can make it <3
Anonymous said: Hi, could you please please upload this sim post/183989453251/e41 ! She's just too pretty
Anonymous said: please upload this sim from your post/183989453251/e41 for download? Thanks
Idk if I still have her saved but if I do I might upload her. I will check and see later tonight lmao
Anonymous said: Is there any way to put everything you make into a .zip file. I really like what you make and I wish there was a way to mass download it. It sounds dumb but really I enjoy your content
Tbh since I post hairs 3 times a month it would be hard for me to keep everything up to date. I might do something like all my CC from 2017 in one zip, and all my cc from 2018 in another? and then make one for 2019 at the end of the year. I’m not sure though.
Anonymous said: Wheres the hair in yo profile pic? And will you upload that sim? AND can you make more clothes ur amazing at it!!! (Also, asking 4 my bff <3 r u boy or girl?)
the hair in my current profile pic is Maddie Hair, the sim is already for download, and I will have some clothes coming next month :) I am a boy :P
Anonymous said: hello! is the model sim in your eve hair valentines special downloadable? I find her really pretty. I really enjoy all of your cc!! I love all of them soooo much.. :)
I will check if I saved her to my library, if so I will add it to the list of stuff I wanna try and do <3 also thank you
Anonymous said: Hey! Love your hairs! Can I request a Riley hair without the hairclip?
the riley hair doesn’t have a clip so I am going to assume you mean the Peyton hair since it was released in the same month. It wouldn’t really be possible to do Peyton without the clip since it has a part of the hair going up into the clip. Without it there would be a hole and if the hole was filled in it would still look weird since the hair would be going up into nothing. I’m sorry <3
@lacr1mation23 said: Kinda not a question. But, i'm gonna fangirl all over you. You ROCK!!! I LOVE your CCs. BEST. HAIRS. EVAR. Impressed like woah from Florida.
thank you so much ;n; this made me smile lmao I appreciate stuff like this a ton
Anonymous said: Hey I think there's something wrong w/ your Lydia hair.. could u fix it?
I’m not sure what the glitch is, so if you could send me a photo or an explanation of what it is then I could help.
Anonymous said: I'm sorry you're having a bad day! I want to let you know your CC is lovely and I hope you have a better day tomorrow! Lots of love and if you like chocolate then I'm sending you plenty of virtual chocolate to help you feel better!
lmao idk what ‘bad day’ I was happening when this was sent but thank you!! I had a rough semester but I am doing a lot better now I think :)
@simsloverlilian said: Hi lol I just think this is really funny, my friend asked me where do you get your cc? and I was like: "oh.. ahoob's WCIF place xDDDDDD" and we both died laughing.. at your place you can get amazing hairs, accs, shirts! (lol love your cc keep it up! ;))
thank you so much! I love that yall use my blog for finding cc :)
@raha-plays-the-sims said: Okay... I actually want to take a screenshot of my Sim with your new Riley hair on to my hair dresser and tell her to cut my hair that way XD I love it so much! Thank you for continuing to make amazing content!
lmao i have wanted to do this before with a male hair i found for my game. I never went through with it though XD thank you for the compliment <3
Anonymous said: Everyone!!! Stan LOONA for clear skin and good health...
stan red velvet and WJSN
Anonymous said: I just want to say that "EVERYTHING" about your blog/cc/sims is absolutely immaculate. Your CC is like renaissance to Sims 4 modding(I ain't even kidding).Thank you for sharing/uploading them here on tumblr. Would you be uploading any video on how you create your sims on youtube anytime soon? And what sliders do you usually use in creating sims if there are some?
thank you so much!!! I have tried recording my game before and the footage just comes out super lag. Hopefully later this year I will be able to get a computer and I could record something then. Also I don’t use any sliders or presets on my main Sims :)
@lllac-lady786 said: This isn’t a question, but your sims are just so pretty and you are so talented 🤩
thank you <3
Anonymous said: Did something happen to your Lydia hair?
I don’t think so? It seems to be fine for me
Anonymous said: How are you able to edit the new game pack when sims4studio hasn't been updated yet? I am itching to edit some stuff but I can't yet :(
I use CAS Tools! I might make a tutorial this week depending on how busy I am. Not sure though <3
Anonymous said: How likely would you be to recommend the new pack to another simmer out of 10?
(this was sent during Strangerville) I would say 8/10 recommendation. But I love storylines and stuff in games so my opinion is very based on that.
Anonymous said: Would you ever make male hair or recolour some of ea's so they work with your ombre accessory?
I am thinking of doing some ombre accessories for the new Island Living pack for the two ombre hairs. I am not sure if I will be able to or not but I will see :)
@milugameplay said: Hello sweetheart, I just like to say that I love the hairs that you create. Thank you for sharing them with us.
thank you <3 i appreciate the compliment
Anonymous said:Hi! When you uploaded peach earrings, the blonde sim had a braided hairstyle. Was it cc or a maxis one?
hey! It is from outdoor retreat GP :)
Anonymous said: Have nothing to ask. Just want to tell you that you are amazingly talented. ❤ I have been playing the sims since its original Sims 1 release, and have always been a heavy CC user. (Upwards of 50GB in sims 3). Never have I ever felt the need to download EVERYTHING a creator has ever made, until I found you. So, in short, you are amazeballs. Keep it up.
this is so sweet lmao. Even I don’t have all my own CC in my game <3 I appreciate this so so much. Thank you for this
Anonymous said: How did you learn to create custom content??Did you see any video tutorial? I'm trying to create a hair but I can not get it :(((( help me please
most of the stuff I have learned from trial and error, or help from S4S fourms and friends :) Feel free to message me with questions on tumblr or discord
Anonymous said: I know Sims 5 is still so far away, but I still have a question! With the release of Sims 4 so many awesome creators for Sims 3 just stopped creating from one day to another. So my question is: Could you imagine yourself creating Custom Content for Sims 5? I'm asking because I seriously love every single piece you create for Sims 4, and I really wish the glory era of Ah00b won't end with the release of Sims 5. Ily! <3
it depends on the style that TS5 goes for tbh. I love Sims 4 style and I don’t know much of anything about creating alpha hairs so if TS5 goes that direction I doubt I would be able to create for it. also thank you for calling it the glory era of ah00b lmao
Anonymous said: You have hairs named after all the girls in black pink except Rosé. Is there a reason for this?
Well I named a hair Rosanne thinking it was close enough to her name lmao. I might name a hair coming in July Rosie. We shall see when it gets to July XD
#asks#oml this was a mess bc my computer froze after I answered all these the first time and I had to go back through and reanswer#so I didn't answer some stuff the second time bc I was a bit annoyed with my computer#inbox is cleared Ill start answering stuff once a month#lets hope

Learn Google Analytics
Explore Google Analytics: Google analytics is the tool provided by google to Analyze your website as well as user/customer behavior in depth. This will help you in working with SEO ranking your website on the first page of the Search Engine Result Page (SERP). I'll guide you the step by step procedure to start with Google Analytics .
So, let's start with creating an account 1) Sign up for a Google Account (Skip if you already have one) If you don’t have a Google Account you need to get one now to have access to all the free Google tools that are out there. 2) Get your unique tracking code. You will the get the unique tracking code you have to upload that link into head part of your website that will track your website report. a. If it’s your first time logging into Google Analytics read below. If not, skip to Step 2b If it’s your first time using Google Analytics then before you get your nifty tracking script you will need to answer a couple of questions and accept Google’s terms of service. The first page will ask for your Website URL as seen below: Enter in your Website’s URL in the “www.yourdomain.com” format (*NOTE* If you have a secure site, https, make sure to update it accordingly). For Account Name enter in whatever you want to call your website or project. And finally select the correct Time Zone that you are in. When you’re done, click continue. You will be then be asked to enter in your contact information and accept Google Analytics’s user agreement. After you agree to Google’s terms of service you finally see your nifty tracking code for the specific website URL you previously entered. b. If it’s your NOT your first time logging into Google Analytics. If it’s not your first time logging into Google Analytics simply click on the “Add Website Profile” link at the bottom left of your overview report. On the next page, keep the selection on “Add a Profile for a new domain) and enter in the domain you want to start tracking (*NOTE* If you have a secure site, https, make sure to update it accordingly). and choose your time zone then click finish. Google Analytics will then create a custom tracking code snippet for your site. Copy your code snippet and click finish. Read step 3 on how to install it on your website. 3) Installing Your Tracking Code Snippet Now that you have your code snippet we will need to install it on your webpage. In step 2) I instructed you to copy over the code snippet but if you forgot or just didn’t feel like copying it, follow these steps to get your tracking code. a) Go to the Overview page and click on “edit” in the last column of your website profile report: b) Click on the check status link in the top right corner: c) Get your code snippet: Now that you have your code snippet (again), let’s install it! All you need to do now is place your code snippet in every single one of your pages in your website. The most common mistake is to place the tracking in only your main index.html/php page.
Home Page: “http://www.xyz.com/index.html”
Our Services Page: “http://www.xyz.com/service.html”
About Us Page: “http://www.xyz.com/about.html”
Contact Us Page: “http://www.xyz.com/contact.html”
Thank You Page: “http://www.xyz.com/thankscont.html”
So we need to install our tracking script. Open your favorite html editor or just open your html/php with notepad and add your tracking script right BEFORE the </body> tag. The </body> tag is usually at the end of your html code. Do a simple search for “</body>” it in your html editor or notepad to find it. Then simply place your code before the </body> tag as shown below: Now repeat this process for all of your webpages. In our instance I placed the code in index.html, service.html, about.html, contact.html, and thankscont.html. After you are done Google Analytics needs some time to go crawl through your webpage to confirm that the scripts are installed. All you need to do now is wait about 12-24 hours for Google Analytics to Update. Here is what your site’s status will look like when your site isn’t verified: And here is what your site’s status will look like once it’s been crawled through and confirmed to be installed correctly: Once your site is confirmed by Google Analytics your site is now being properly tracked by Google Analytics. If after 48 hours your site still has not been confirmed. Please read through Step 3 again and make sure that your code is correctly placed. 4) Adding Goals to Track Conversion. Now that you have the basic tracking installed in your page you now need to set up Google Analytics so you can start tracking conversions. With goals you can figure out how many people did a specific action. IE. Bought an item, signed up for a newsletter, read a specific page, etc. For now (as of 03.20.08) Google has a max of 4 goals assigned to each website profile. You can have more than 4 but that is outside of the scope of this beginner guide. To properly use goals you will need a link to your “goal” page. A “goal” page can be any page where you want your user to go to. It can be a thank you page after a user signs up for your newsletter or it can be the receipt page after someone orders a product from your site. To get started with setting up a goal, first go into your Analytics home page and click on “edit”. In the profile settings page two boxes down you should see the “Conversion Goals and Funnel” box. Click edit on an empty Goal. If you are new, just click edit on the G1 row: You should now see the Goal Settings Page. Let’s go over the “Enter Goal Information” section first: Active Goal: This activates/deactives your goals. So to start turn this goal on by choosing the “On” button. Match Type: There are 3 types of match types.
Head Match: Use this type if your webpage uses dynamic URLs. For example, let’s say your goal page is an order receipt page and the links look something like this: “www.example.com/checkout.cgi?page=1&id=9982251615” where the &id=XXXXX changes dyamically.
Exact Match: Use this type if your thank you page is a static page such as: “www.domain.com/1/thanks.html”.
Regular Expression Match: This option uses regular expressions to match your URLs. For many eCommerce website the “thank you” or “receipt” page is a dynamic URL with different pages with OrderID or CustomerID variables and you will need to use this match to track the URL instead of a static domain page. Using regular expressions with wildcards are out of the scope for this beginner tutorial. We will write a post specifically tackling the Regular Expresion Match soon.
So choose the correct match depending on your “goal page” Goal URL: Enter the directory and file of your goal page. DO NOT input your entire http:// link. Simply just write the directory and file name from your root perspective. IE. “http://www.mysite.com/thankyou.html” enter “/thankyou.html” or “http://www.mysite.com/newpage/thankyou.html” enter “/newpage/thankyou.html”. Goal Name: This is for your use. Name the goal to whatever you want. Case Sensitive: Check this if URLs entered above must exactly match the capitalization of visited URLs. Goal Value: Input what each conversion is worth. Let’s say each newsletter email is worth $0.70 then input that into the goal value. If there is no static monetary value then you can just leave it as zero. So here is how we filled this out in our example: The next section is the “Define Funnel”. A funnel is a series of pages that leads up to the goal. If you have a eCommerce site it may consist of 3-5 steps “checkout –> information input –> CC Page –> Review –> Submit” etc. You can define these pages in the funnel section to know exactly how your traffic is reaching your goal page and in which steps they are leaving. Seeing the funnel is extremely helpful is realizing how your users traverse through your pages to do the action item. Make sure to always use this even though it may be only a 1 step process as the funnel system allows you to easily see your true conversions. In our example, we want to know how many people sign up from our contact.html page. So our Funnel is: contact.html –[If user signs up]–> thankscont.html. So we define the funnel like this: Like the goal URL in the “Enter Goal Information” section make sure not to include the entire link, just the directory and file. Make sure to check the “required steps” if you want to track your real conversions. When this is checked goals are ONLY counted when the user goals to our contact.html first. This is important as I’m sure many of our users will go directly to our thank you page in this step by step guide and we don’t want to count those as conversions. Once that’s done, simply click the “Save Changes” button. Congratulations! You’re now correctly tracking your conversions!
5) Understanding Google Analytics Report.
Now that your site is correctly being tracked, it’s time to see all the cool reports that Google Analytics can show you! (Pretty, isn’t it?) Everything is pretty self explanatory and intuitive so I won’t go through every single reporting link. The one item that I do want to talk about is the funnel report in the Goals section as it is the most important part in your conversion tracking. First click on the goals tab then the Funnel Visualization link: Once there you will see this: The above example is a pro bono optimization we’re doing for a charity. We are specifically optimizing their membership page. The funnel is simply, “Membership Page” –> “Membership Buy Thank You Page” On this day you’ll see that they had 625 visitors go to the membership page and 47 people who bought a membership to this charity organization for a conversion rate of 7.52% which is our true conversion rate. This is the most important page to understand what is going on with your traffic and find out how you can best monetize it as well as find “conversion leaks” if you have multiple pages in your funnel. Now what if we didn’t use the optional funnel and wanted to know our conversions? This is what we would have seen from this client: We would see a .18% conversion for these days… Why? Because Google Analytics determines the conversion rate as [Goal Visits / Total Visits to the Website]. This charity organization gets TONS of traffic from all over the place to different pages on their site. Most people don’t even view the membership page. So the conversion rate above is incorrect in letting you know how your specific page is converting and you should not rely on this. The only way this report would be correct is if you have just a simple landing page and buy page.

Ever since posting the half-baked ideas I had about a SG1 and STV crossover, making quite a few Janeway/Sam and B’Elanna/Janet gifs and playing around with some fun moments (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) there are little pieces of interaction and dialogue floating through my brain.
One of these interactions kept bugging me until I scribbled it down. So, here it is (or there if you prefer to read on ao3)
“Stop doing that,” Janet Fraiser said annoyed to the EMH. “I’m a doctor, not your nurse.”
The silence that followed was deafening. Then, from the biobed behind her, Tom Paris who was treating Harry Kim for some minor cuts and bruises, piped up: “Yeah, or a decorator.”
“Or an engineer,” Harry said.
Janet, wondering what that was all about, looked from the two back to the EMH who had gone very still.
“Or-“
“We have work to do, Mr. Paris,” the EMH interrupted. “You picked a poor time to complain, Doctor Fraiser,” he addressed to Janet. “We have a room full of people waiting to be treated.”
“None of which have any serious injuries. A perfect time to explain your instruments,” Janet rebuffed. “I could actually help now if you hadn’t avoided me like the plague or treated me like a nurse.”
The EMH gave Janet a side glance. “I haven’t been-“
“Doctor Fraiser?”
Janet silently ground her teeth and then turned to look at Seven of Nine who stood at the other side of the room.
“I require your – help, please.”
Janet nodded and with a last look – and without another remark to the EMH – she went over to Seven. She put her hands in the pockets of her lab coat. “I find it hard to believe that you need my help,” Janet said to Seven. “I’ve seen you help the Doctor on several occasions.”
Seven cocked her head. “You have been the leader of your medical facilities,” she said. “Is it your intention to become the leader here as well and have the Doctor activated during emergencies only?”
Janet felt her jaw slacken.
“Your team mates are quite vocal about you being an accomplished medic.”
“One who’s about 400 years out of date!”
“There has been mentioning of you being a - Napoleonic power monger,” Seven said and the implant above her eye lifted. “I have done some research in our Database.”
Janet rubbed her forehead while Seven recited her findings. “Thank you, Colonel,” she muttered under her breath. Then, with a deep inhale, she looked up. “In my – medical facility, I had the right and the obligation to overrule any decision for medical reasons,” Janet explained. “How does your doctor react when he has a particularly stubborn patient who won’t listen to reason?”
“Are you referring to Captain Janeway?”
Widening her eyes, Janet lifted one shoulder. “If she fits the description,” Janet said non-committedly.
“Or maybe Lieutenant Torres?”
“Don’t get me started,” Janet mumbled and sighed, thinking about the many times she had tried to get B’Elanna Torres to keep her appointments for her check-ups.
“The Doctor has that right as well,” Seven said, interrupting Janet’s thoughts. “He refers to it as the ‘ace up his sleeve’, is the correct phrase, I believe.”
Janet snorted. “Indeed, it is,” she replied. “But it doesn’t make you always very popular when you have to pull this card.”
“Understandably.”
Janet gave Seven a long stare – that did nothing to impress Seven. “Are you one of these particularly stubborn patients as well?”
The corner of Seven’s mouth twitched. “That would depend on the situation.”
“Of course,” Janet said dryly. “It always does.”
Seven lifted her chin. “I never miss my routine check-ups.”
“Well, there’s that.” Janet nodded, then tilted her head. “Why did you ask me here?”
“I believe the Doctor fears that you are supposed to replace him and that he will be deactivated.”
“You can’t be serious?” Janet glanced over to the EMH who was now treating another patient.
“He’s been activated since the medical officer was killed during the transport into the Delta Quadrant.”
“So I’ve heard,” Janet said. “And if I understood it correctly, he’s since expanded way beyond his original programming.”
“Yes, he has.”
Janet looked back at Seven. “Even if – and I want to stress the if here – even if I had the ambition to run this place, I’m only human. I can’t be on duty 24/7. Then there’s still the fact that I need an update for – “ Janet shook her head. “Way too long,” she said quietly. It was still hard to wrap her head around the fact that they were several centuries ahead of their time. “To cut a long story short: Voyager could easily use two doctors. I don’t want to work against him. I’d like to work with him,” Janet said. “And as much as I like to brainstorm with Sam… she’s not a medic.”
Seven inclined her head. “Very well.” She brought her hands forward which had been behind her back. There was a tricorder in one hand and a scanner in the other. She held both out to Janet.
It was then that Janet noticed the deep bruise on Seven’s hand. “Seven, why didn’t you say something?” She reached out. “Let me have a look.”
“You will have to get accustomed to let the scanner be your eyes.” Seven said and held the scanner up.
“After I’ve had a look with my eyes,” Janet said, took the scanner and let it fall into the pocket of her lab coat before gently taking Seven’s hand.
“Your eyes won’t tell you-“
“Judging by the colour that this bruise already has, it must have been quite a blow,” Janet murmured and turned Seven’s hand. “I can also tell you that back in my time you wouldn’t have much fun for a while.” Janet looked up. “How’s the mobility? Can you move all your fingers?”
Seven sighed. “My mobility is within acceptable parameters, including the mobility of my fingers.”
“Do you still have sensation everywhere or are there spots that feel numb? Any tingling in the fingers?”
“Yes, no and no tingling.”
“Good.” Janet released Seven’s hand and pulled the scanner from her pocket. “I’m all ears,” she said. “And eyes,” she added, holding up the scanner.
Seven handed the tricorder to Janet as well and for the next half hour, Janet got a thorough explanation while treating Seven’s hand in the process with yet another instrument.
They were just about to go over to one of the patients when the doors to Sick Bay opened and B’Elanna came in with another crewman. They made a beeline for the EMH.
“Doctor Fraiser?”
Janet looked up at Seven, who cocked her head.
“It was Lieutenant Torres who came in.”
Trying not to look over again, Janet nodded. Then she did a double-take. Seven stood with her back to the door. “How- how did you know?”
“Because of your physical reaction.”
Janet scoffed. “Yeah, right.”
“Your pulse increased, your pupils dilated and your temperature rose 1.3 degrees – and is rising as we speak.”
Her face now positively on fire, Janet gaped at Seven.
“I have made you uncomfortable.”
“No kidding,” she mumbled in the direction of the tricorder in her hand.
“My advice to get Lieutenant Torres’ attention-“
Janet snapped her head back so quickly, she was afraid she had given herself a whiplash.
The implant above Seven’s eye rose and her expression turned slightly – amused?
“We… we’re talking about my interest in her as a physician, right?”
Now Seven’s eyebrow went up as well.
“Dammit!”
“Ignore her for now,” Seven said. “And may I suggest for you to make your next attempt to approach her not during the main shift in Engineering?”
Janet glanced over to where B’Elanna was, then back at Seven. “Too busy?”
“Precisely.” Seven gave a curt nod. “There will always be one or the other test or repairs underway. Or one of her engineers will come to her for questions.”
“Noted.”
“She does have the late shift tomorrow.”
Once more, Janet’s gaze shifted to B’Elanna.
“May I also suggest that you don’t wear your lab coat?”
“My lab coat?” Janet looked down at herself.
“I assume you would prefer for Lieutenant Torres to be at ease in your presence.”
“Yes, of course.”
“You’re rarely seen without the coat,” Seven said. “It’s almost like-“
“Work clothes? A uniform?” Janet suggested dryly.
The implant above Seven’s eye rose. “An armour.”
Crossing her arms, Janet looked away. “Maybe you have a point,” she conceded after a moment and sighed. “Maybe I’m using the lab coat as a tangible connection to my time and reality.” She lifted her chin and looked back at Seven. “But it’s also plain practical. It does have pockets and I can put things in it.” With a small smile she unfolded her arms and stuffed her hands into the pockets. “Or put my hands in there when I don’t know what to do with them.”
Seven inclined her head. “Understood,” she said. “Shall we proceed and see your first patient, Doctor Fraiser?”
“Janet.”
Seven looked questioningly at Janet.
“You’ve just dissected my physical reaction to B’Elanna and gave me tips on how to approach her,” Janet said. “You may just as well call me Janet.”
“Very well.
“By the way…why did you tell me in the first place?”
“That is for me to know and for you to find out, Janet Fraiser.” There was a tiny smile before Seven turned away and headed towards a bed with a crewman on it.
Janet looked after Seven and then shook her head with a soft laugh, before she followed.
*
When Janet walked into Main Engineering the next evening, she made it only a few meters before she slowed and then came to a complete stop. Unlike the times before, the place was deserted and very quiet – except for the low hum of the warp core. Fascinated, Janet let her gaze travel up the swirling blue light. It wasn’t only an impressive sight but also very beautiful.
“Who’s lurking in my engine room?”
Janet pursed her lips, then moved towards the niche that served as B’Elanna’s office and from where her voice had come. She peeked around the corner and when she saw B’Elanna sitting at a console, Janet stepped inside and leaned against the bulkhead.
B’Elanna glanced up. “Yeah, lurking all right,” she said. Then her gaze moved down Janet’s body and shot up again.
Out of habit, Janet wanted to put her hands in the pocket of her lab coat. But she had followed Seven’s suggestion and wasn’t wearing one. So instead, Janet slid one hand into the pocket of her uniform pants.
“You can tell Seven that I’ll rip her heart out,” B’Elanna said. “Oh, don’t bother, I’ll just do it,” she added and leaned back in her chair.
“Why is that?”
“Because she talked to you.”
Janet let out a laugh. “Let me get that straight. You want to kill Seven because she talked to me?”
B’Elanna jolted in her seat. “Well… no. Not because she talked to you,” she said hastily. “But she talked to you about me.”
“Actually, it started with Seven interrogating me.” Janet scrunched up her face thoughtfully. “Something about me and my Napoleonic power mongering ways and overtaking Sick Bay. I’ve thankfully forgotten most off her findings on Napoleon but I’m sure you get the picture.”
B’Elanna pressed her lips together but that didn’t keep her eyes from shining with humour. “That does sound like Seven.”
“Once I was able to convince her that I had no intention on overtaking Sick Bay, Seven began explaining some medical instruments and proceedings to me. That you came up in the conversation was a coincidence.”
“Oh… it was?”
“Yeah.” Janet nodded. “And it only started when you came into Sick Bay.”
“So, it’s my fault now?”
“More like my own,” Janet said. “Not that I think anyone is at fault here.”
B’Elanna harrumphed and crossed her arms. “How was it your fault?”
Janet studied B’Elanna for a moment, then took a deep breath: “Seven knew you had come into the room without having seen you.”
For just a moment, B’Elanna’s eyes widened, then she narrowed them. “How-“ She pushed a lock of hair behind an ear. “How did she know?”
“Funny, I asked the exact same question,” Janet said. “Imagine my surprise when she told me it was because of my physical reaction to you.”
B’Elanna’s lips parted but she didn’t say anything.
“But you already knew that, didn’t you?”
“I didn’t,” B’Elanna said, then added: “I might have thought of it as a possibility at first.”
Janet nodded. “Was it the implication of what it means that had you dismiss the thought again?”
With a sigh, B’Elanna nodded slowly, just before jerking upright. “Hang on a minute, what implication are we talking about exactly?”
With a small smile, Janet said quietly: “My interest in you.”
“Because I’m a new species you’ve never encountered before?”
Janet arched an eyebrow. “There might be no Klingons, Vulcan or Borgs in my reality, but you’re hardly the first alien I’ve seen,” she said. “So, no, that’s not what gets my blood pumping,” she added.
“So you haven’t been pestering me out of professional curiosity?”
“I have been pestering you for professional reasons,” Janet said. “These routine check-ups happen for a reason.”
B’Elanna made a scoffing sound – that Janet ignored.
“But it was unprofessional of me to hope that I could get you to talk to me.” Janet sighed and for a moment looked to the floor before lifting her gaze back to B’Elanna. “I- I just didn’t have the guts to ask if you’d like to have lunch with me, or dinner.”
“It’s a bit late for that.”
“What?” Janet tilted her head questioningly.
“Well, lunch has been over for hours and even the dinner crowed will be gone by now,” B’Elanna said matter-of-factly. “But I’m sure Neelix would fix something for us.”
Janet pushed herself from the bulkhead. “I… didn’t mean today.”
“Are you saying that you don’t have the guts to spontaneously have dinner with me?”
Janet felt her mouth drop open – and that for two reasons: first was the fact that B’Elanna did seem to want to go and have a meal with Janet. And secondly the cheek with which B’Elanna had delivered her comment. For the moment, Janet found it much easier to deal with the cheekiness. She crossed her arms, ducked her chin under and looked at B’Elanna from underneath furrowed brows. There was still a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth though, when she said: “You just wanna rattle my cage.”
“Yeah.”
B’Elanna’s admission caught Janet off-guard and she let out a laugh. “Why?”
B’Elanna cocked her head and gave Janet a thoughtful look. “You’re not afraid of me, are you?”
Janet blinked. “Why would I be?”
Waving one hand dismissively, B’Elanna said: “I’ll leave the history lesson for another time. Suffice to say, Klingons have an excellent sense of smell. And you… you have a nice scent. But it gets even better when your – how did you phrase it? When your blood is boiling? No, when your blood is pumping.”
Not quite sure if she had understood correctly, Janet cleared her throat. “You- you like my scent?”
“Seven didn’t tell you?”
“She didn’t tell me squat,” Janet said. “Well, except for not approaching you during a main shift and losing the lab coat.”
“Maybe I’m not gonna kill her after all.”
“Okay,” Janet said slowly. “What could she have told me?”
B’Elanna chuckled. “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
“Yeah, I would.” Janet grinned.
“I bet.” B’Elanna looked onto the console. “I might answer that question in about 15 minutes – if you have the guts for dinner with me.”
Janet put her head in her neck and laughed.
“Okay, I think it’s time for you to leave,” B’Elanna said with a half-smile.
“Oh?”
“Yeah, you’re starting to smell really good,” B’Elanna said. “And shallow breathing gets me only so far in here.”
“In my time we sometimes had to perform mouth to mouth in an emergency,” Janet said and was rather satisfied with the surprise in B’Elanna’s face. “I could offer-“
“Out!” There was no heat in B’Elanna’s voice. “Now,” she added and made shooing gestures with her hands.
“All right, all right, I’m going,” Janet said and with a last smile at B’Elanna turned around. “I’ll see you in the Mess Hall?”
“Yeah,” B’Elanna replied. “I just need to finish this report.”
Was it her imagination or did B’Elanna sound distracted? She was probably already back to work with her thoughts. Janet turned her head a little more, expecting to see B’Elanna bend over the console. But instead, B’Elanna was leaning back in the chair with her nose in the air. The sight was unexpected but now that Janet knew about the scent thing, it was quite sensual to see – and intimate. Quickly, Janet stepped around the corner. Despite the fact that B’Elanna had been more relaxed and open than in any other of their encounters before, Janet doubted she wanted to be seen like this just yet.
Slowly, Janet made her way to the Mess Hall. But then thought better of it. She hurried to her quarters first to get some reading material. She could use the time she had to wait and study some of the texts, Seven had provided her with. It would keep her occupied as well and maybe stop her from getting nervous. Or excited, her inner voice added. And don’t forget even more curious.
“Oh hush,” she muttered to herself as she briskly walked down the corridors.
She had just reached her quarters and picked up two PADDs when the intercom on her chest chirped.
“Torres to Doctor Fraiser.”
Janet touched the little gadget. “Fraiser here.”
“Listen, um… would you mind if we met on the Holodeck instead of the Mess Hall?”
“On the Holodeck?”
“Yeah, I need a bit more space around me.”
Janet’s eyebrows lifted. “I don’t pretend to understand the concept of holodecks or holoprograms but if you say it will offer you more space… of course we can meet there.”
“Okay, thanks,” B’Elanna said.
“No problem.”
“I’ll see you shortly.”
“Um… B’Elanna?”
“Yes?”
“How- how do I get there?”
There was a soft chuckle. “I assume you’re already in the Mess Hall.”
“Err… actually, I’m in my quarters.”
There was a brief pause. “All right,” B’Elanna said slowly.
“Yeah, I thought I could pick up some reading material to – um bridge the time.”
Another pause. Then: “You went to your quarters to pick up some reading material to wait for 15 minutes in the Mess Hall?”
Janet looked to the floor. “Yeah.” She was glad that B’Elanna couldn’t see her right now.
“You realize that you wouldn’t have had more than a couple of minutes to actually read after your little detour?”
“Um…no.”
There was a thoughtful hum before B’Elanna cleared her throat and then explained Janet how to get to the Holodeck.
A short while later, Janet walked down the corridor that led to Holodeck 2. When she came around a corner, Janet saw B’Elanna pacing in front of a door, who came to a stop when she turned and saw Janet.
Then B’Elanna moved to a panel beside the door and tapped in some commands. There was a beep and the doors slid open. Janet stepped up beside B’Elanna and followed her inside as she began to move.
“Where are we going? I mean, I know we’re entering a holodeck but…”
B’Elanna chuckled. “It’s a legit question.”
“Okay, so where are we going?”
They turned around a corner.
“Welcome to Sandrine’s,” B’Elanna said.
“A bar?”
“Yeah, a couple of years ago we used to spend a lot of time in here in our free time. Usually there are a few characters as well but I deactivated them.”
Janet walked past the pool table and let her fingers run across the green velvet. “It feels so real.” She looked to B’Elanna who was heading behind the bar. “I’m glad it doesn’t smell like a bar, though.”
“Oh good, so you can’t smell it.”
Janet blinked. “What do you mean?”
“Do you want something to drink?”
Janet walked to the bar. Bracing her arms on the wood, she looked at B’Elanna. “Are you saying you can actually smell…” Janet shrugged. “The bar?”
“Yeah.” B’Elanna turned around to face Janet. “As I said, I needed a bit of space to move around,” she explained. “And I figured that adding a bit of the dank smell to the program would um… help me keep a clear head.”
Janet narrowed her eyes thoughtfully and then understood the implication. She cocked her head. “Because of me or rather my scent.” She remembered B’Elanna in her office with her nose in the air.
“Yeah.” B’Elanna nodded. She put two glasses with what seemed to be water on the bar. “But before this flirtation gets any further, there are a few things you should know.”
“So, you have been flirting with me.”
B’Elanna gave Janet a scathing look – which made Janet lift her hands.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “It’s obviously important enough for you to subjugate yourself to the stank of an empty bar.”
B’Elanna pushed herself from the bar and walked around it. “Klingons are a warrior race; they’re all about fighting and honour and whatnot.”
“So are the Jaffa.”
“Maybe. But I guess they don’t have a saying that indicates that the wedding night must have been without passion if not at least one of the couple has a broken bone afterwards.”
“Um… not that I know of.” Janet turned slightly to follow B’Elanna with her gaze as she paced.
“It’s quite common to tease newly weds with this among Klingons,” B’Elanna said and turned on her heels. “They consider it a blessing if a clavicle gets broken.”
“That sounds…”
“Painful?” B’Elanna suggested dryly.
“Yeah, you could say that.”
“Now… I’ve never injured a partner,” B’Elanna said and came to a stop a few feet away from Janet. “But…” She sighed.
“But?”
“Kahless, you’re just so…” B’Elanna lifted her hands.
Janet cocked her head. “I’m what?”
“Small.”
She had expected a lot of things, but not a reference to her height at this point. That it was coming from B’Elanna was even more bizarre. “That’s rich coming from you,” Janet said dryly with an arched brow. “As far as I know there aren’t that many people on board Voyager who are shorter than you are.”
B’Elanna crossed her arms. “I’m still stronger than most of them thanks to my heritage.”
Janet connected the dots and nodded. “So your previous partners have all been Klingons.”
That made B’Elanna frown. “No, I haven’t been with a Klingon before.”
Confused, Janet lifted her shoulders. “Then why is my size a concern?”
“You know what? You’re right.” B’Elanna barked out a laugh. “This whole conversation is ridiculous. I mean, we haven’t had a civil conversation yet and here I am trying to tell you that I might leave a bruise because I’m holding on too tight.”
The thought of B’Elanna caught up in passion and holding on tightly made Janet’s pulse speed up and she swallowed dryly. “Then why are we here?” She asked quietly.
“Good question. You tell me.”
“I’m here because I have a soft spot for snarky, brilliant brunettes,” Janet said and took a few steps towards B’Elanna. “Your turn.”
B’Elanna crossed her arms. “That’s a compliment.”
The corner of Janet’s mouth twitched. “Yeah, it is.”
“Well, the brilliant part at least.”
“Oh, I don’t know.” Janet shrugged a shoulder. “You often have this little smirk on your face when you deliver one of your snarky comments,” Janet said. “I find that to be very attractive.”
“You like being at the end of my sharp tongue?”
“Oh my.” Janet let out a laugh.
“I mean being the butt of my joke,” B’Elanna corrected hastily but it was too late.
“I don’t know if I like being at the end of your tongue yet,” Janet said. “But I’d like to find out.”
B’Elanna’s arms dropped to her sides and for a moment B’Elanna just stared at Janet. Then she turned her head away.
“Why are you here, B’Elanna?”
Pulling her lower lip between her teeth, B’Elanna looked at Janet. “Because I’m curious,” she finally said. “About you,” she added.
“Why?”
B’Elanna sighed and then locked onto Janet’s eyes. “You’re a fascinating mixture of control and passion.”
Janet nodded. “And you’re wondering which one has the upper hand when it comes to sex?”
With a snort, B’Elanna crossed her arms. “I think that’s a safe bet.”
“Or so you believe,” Janet said with a half-smile.
“Are you saying otherwise?”
Janet cocked her head. “You are a scientist, right?”
There was a perplexed hesitation, then B’Elanna nodded. “Well, technically, I’m an engineer.”
“Even better,” Janet said. “As a scientist, wouldn’t you agree that there is some chemistry between us?”
One corner of B’Elanna’s mouth lifted into a half-grin. “Yeah, I can agree to that.”
Janet nodded and then – with her pulse quickening – walked up to B’Elanna. She looked up. “As an…” Janet swallowed. “As an engineer wouldn’t you like to get your hands-“
B’Elanna’s nostrils flared and she inhaled sharply. “Kahless,” she whispered and took a step back.
Janet’s shoulders sagged. “I- I don’t know how else to tell you that I want you,” she said quietly. “Or that it’s okay for you to want me.”
“But don’t… you want a date first? Dinner or something?”
“How about breakfast afterwards?”
B’Elanna let out a laugh and shook her head.
“Look, we agreed to have dinner but you thought you might get distracted by my scent,” Janet said. “What makes you think that the next attempt will be any less distracting?”
Worrying her lower lip, B’Elanna shrugged a shoulder.
“Maybe once you have my scent all over you-“
There was a low moan and B’Elanna crossed arms moved to her midsection.
“All right.” Janet lifted her hands and backed off. “Let me know how you want to proceed – if you even want to.” She turned on her heels and headed towards the exit.
“Wait.”
Janet closed her eyes and stopped. “Please, I don’t want to play games with you,” she said quietly.
“No games.” B’Elanna came closer. “Just… I just need to finish saying what I started earlier.” There was a tentative touch on Janet’s shoulder. “Why I asked you to come here in the first place. I- I need you to know.”
Slowly, Janet turned around. “Know what?”
“You need to know what you’re getting into.”
Janet arched her brows. “That sounds ominous.”
B’Elanna pushed her hair behind an ear. “I mentioned that I might hold on too tight and maybe even leave marks.”
“Yes, you did,” Janet said and then remembered B’Elanna commenting on her, Janet, being so small. “Is this about my height?”
B’Elanna nodded.
“Just because I’m shorter than average doesn’t mean I’m any more or less fragile than others.” Janet gave B’Elanna a small smile.
“I- I might also bite.”
A flare of excitement shot through Janet and she inhaled sharply – so did B’Elanna, before she looked away with a laugh. “Okay, scratch the ‘might’. I will bite. I like biting,” B’Elanna said and looked back at Janet. “But I might break the skin on occasions.”
Cocking her head, Janet swallowed. Her whole body seemed to be thrumming with desire. “Good thing I’m a doctor then.”
B’Elanna’s gaze moved to Janet’s neck. “Is that an invitation?”
Janet’s laugh was low. “If you need another one.”
“A written one would be nice,” B’Elanna said with a half-smile. “You know, so I could check every once in a while.”
Janet patted down her pockets. “Sorry, I don’t have anything to write with me.”
“Damn,” B’Elanna muttered.
“B’Elanna, if I approach or touch you… will you back off again?”
B’Elanna shook her head. “No.”
With her heartbeat in her throat, Janet stepped up to B’Elanna and reached up to touch her face. B’Elanna put her hands on top of Janet’s and for a moment Janet thought B’Elanna would pull them off again. But all that B’Elanna did was turning one of Janet’s hands slightly. Closing her eyes, she pressed her nose against Janet’s wrist and inhaled deeply.
“You know, before I saw you down in Engineering, I never thought that someone sniffing me could be so sensual,” Janet said quietly.
Without opening her eyes, B’Elanna turned to Janet’s other wrist and took another deep breath. “I don’t sniff. I’m not a dog,” she said. “I’m scenting you.” B’Elanna looked at Janet with hooded eyes.
“Sorry,” Janet whispered.
“You saw me in Engineering?”
“Just briefly.” Janet moved closer to B’Elanna so that their bodies touched. The soft hiss from B’Elanna’s inhale was almost drowned by Janet’s low hum.
B’Elanna let go of Janet’s hands and instead put her arms around Janet. Pulling her closer, B’Elanna bend her head.
Janet moved her hand to the back of B’Elanna’s neck and stretched up.
After the prelude that had led to this; B’Elanna’s tale about Klingons, bruises and biting; Janet had expected the kiss to be more – heated. But it wasn’t. Not that Janet felt like complaining. Oh, no. B’Elanna kissed Janet with a slow burning passion that left nothing to desire – except the desire or more.
“I don’t think I can stand it much longer,” Janet whispered against B’Elanna’s lips after a while.
B’Elanna lifted her head to look at Janet. “Stand what much longer?”
“What?” Janet frowned. “What did I say?”
“That you can’t stand it much longer.”
Janet’s mouth dropped open. “I meant stand,” she said. “I don’t think I can stand much longer.”
It was a futile attempt from B’Elanna to try and hide her grin but she gave it her best. “What happened, Doctor? Lost the ability to talk?”
Janet laughed. “You happened, Lieutenant.”
“You’re saying it’s my fault?”
“In the most positive sense, yes.”
“I don’t mind taking the blame for that,” B’Elanna said with a smug smile.
Janet pulled her hand from B’Elanna’s neck and traced the laugh-line around B’Elanna’s mouth with a finger. “I see you’re also very attractive when you’re smug,” she said – which made B’Elanna’s smile widened.
“I don’t suppose there’s something a bit more comfortable to sit on than the chairs?”
“Um… I don’t think so,” B’Elanna looked up and around. “You could sit on the pool table.”
Janet snorted. “The pool table?”
B’Elanna shrugged. “Probably not the most comfortable.”
“Yeah. And isn’t it the place where you try to put things into holes?”
For a moment, B’Elanna just gaped at Janet. Then she closed her eyes. However, they popped open just a heartbeat later. “Computer, add a couch to the interior of this bar,” she said triumphantly.
“Please specify. There are several variations in the Database.”
The expression of utter disbelief on B’Elanna’s face had Janet lower her head to keep her smile hidden.
“I just want a damn couch,” B’Elanna grumbled.
“There is no ‘damn couch’ in the Database,” the computer voice announced and Janet lost it. She burst out laughing while the computer began listing different kind of couches.
“You’re not helping,” B’Elanna said close to Janet’s ear.
Janet shook her head slightly. “No, I guess not.” She looked up, still smiling broadly. “But it is pretty hilarious.”
B’Elanna harrumphed and Janet cleared her throat.
“Computer, is there an ottoman in the Database?”
“Affirmative.”
“One where three people can be seated?”
“Affirmative.”
“Please add one of those to the-“ Janet frowned and looked questioningly at B’Elanna.
“Add one of those to the interior of the current setting.”
There was a beep and a moment later the ottoman appeared beside them.
“Much better,” B’Elanna said and let go of Janet. She took her hand instead and together they went to the couch where they sat down – now facing the door.
“Um… could other people come in here?”
“Good point! Computer, seal the doors.”
There was another beep and Janet assumed that the doors were now locked. With a smile, she turned to B’Elanna and reached out.
“Oh, wait. Computer, when is the next reservation for the Holodeck?”
“The next slot begins in 54 minutes.”
“Damn.” B’Elanna sighed.
“How… how about we enjoy ourselves for the next little while and then move to a more appropriate location if we feel like it?”
B’Elanna’s expression brightened. “I like the way your mind works, Doctor.”
Janet put a hand on the back of B’Elanna’s neck. “I’m glad you do, Lieutenant,” she said and pulled B’Elanna with her down on the couch.

Somewhere Inside (Disuphere series #4) Chapter 69
(To listen, click here) - 20:13
It’s quieter without the rest of the Avoiders here.
It’s Tuesday, the day after everybody went home, and Levi’s mom is serious about “making the lasagna happen.” That means Levi has spent a good chunk of the last 24 hours freaking out. Because what if his fear all those months ago - the one that drove him to wind up at Pearl’s door with bags packed - is really a thing? What if he’s pissed off his own mom enough that she acts like Carla?
If Pearl’s own mom can do what she did, no one’s mom is immune, right?
He’s starting to spin, where his mind is telling him he’s got to be perfect. They’ve got to meet at Mom’s. Not here. They’ve got to do what she wants. And what if he says that, and Pearl can’t join, because of the stress? Then, he’ll be alone.
This is something Pearl would wanna be here for. But it’s also something she might contribute to, without meaning it. And Levi has boundaries and choices and he gets to pick who to call for backup.
He texts Dominique:
Help - Mom freakout. Need code to deactivate ASAP :( Are all moms like her? Is my mom gonna do the thing if I don’t do what she wants?
Dominique texts back within five minutes:
At work but Code = Your mom loves you. Actual for real loves you. She wants to spend time w/ you and wants you & P to be comfortable. PS if you need to call my dad, that’s cool. If you need some dad energy. His name’s Michael. Both Mom and Dad say it’s cool if any Avoiders need them <3
Levi wouldn’t usually, but he needs to talk to somebody, and short of his own dad, he’s had no father figures in his life for the last two years. There’s a number. So, he calls it.
“Michael Williams,” a voice greets. Sounds efficient, but light. Happy.
“Yes, sir. This is Levi West. One of Dominique’s friends…” he hedges.
“Hey, Levi. Call me Michael. Dominique told us about you and your sis. Pretty amazing. How can I help?”
“This...it’s kinda embarrassing but I’m panicking...about something simple. And I know it doesn’t make sense, but I can’t stop.”
“Ah, anxiety.” Michael breathes. “We go way back.”
“Yeah?” Levi asks.
“Oh, yeah,” Michael confirms. “So, we can just slow it down. Take some deep breaths.” He waits, but Levi is waiting too. “See, to take a deep breath, you actually need to take in air. Breathe, Levi. You got this.”
It’s Michael’s calm directness that breaks through. And Levi’s able to take one breath. Then another. Then, he listens, as Levi rambles about how worried he is. He gives the broad strokes: “You know, like when you been hurt by somebody and then you gotta spend time with somebody else like them.”
“When you say, ‘like them,’ what do you mean?” Michael asks.
“I mean, like, say you got hurt...by a giant cookie… And now you gotta spend time with another one.”
“I see…” Michael offers in a tone that makes it clear that he doesn’t see at all. He’s confused, but he is hanging in there, with Levi’s terrible analogy. Which Levi appreciates.
“Or maybe this one’s a pan of lasagna…” Levi muses. “You know what, I’m not really sure. It’s my mom, sir. I haven’t spent time with her in a while, and I’m nervous she’ll resent that. And take it out on me.”
“I see,” Michael says, like he does see now. “And your mother...has she ever hurt you before?”
“No. Never,” Levi answers, certain. “But, someone else’s mom…”
“Ah, I see. So, what’s important to remember?” he says. “Is that your mother? Is not this other mother. What’s she said about seeing you?”
“She’s excited to come see us. Me and my sister.” Levi reviews. “But what if she changed her mind and expects us to come to her, and my sister can’t come with me, and I’m alone there?”
“Breathe,” Michael cues and actually waits until Levi’s able to draw a breath. “If your mother changed her plans, she’d have let you know. You have the most up to date info right in your head. She’s excited to come see you and your sister.” He pauses. “Your mother,” another pause, “is excited to come see you and your sister. That’s the truth. When you feel your mind starting to race? Repeat what you know.”
“That my mother is excited to come see me and my sister,” Levi says, testing it out.
“You got it. That’s what you know. All the rest of it’s noise. Block that out. A second at a time. Those seconds will add up. Trust,” Michael reassures.
“I’m so sorry for calling you like this,” Levi apologizes. “Some first impression.”
“You wanna know my first impression of you?” Michael asks. “Someone who means a great deal to Dominique. Someone who knows his limits. Someone who knows he can reach out if he needs help. To bring in adults when things get too real. You made a solid first impression. You really did.”
“Thank you, sir.” Levi clears his throat. Blinking back tears. “You, um, you remind me of my dad...who’s...not here anymore. Who I miss. Very much.”
“Well, if you ever need some Dadness, you call me.” Michael says, his tone gentling even more.
“You sure Dominique won’t mind?” Levi asks.
“Nah, she knows the truth, too. There’s always enough of Dad to go around,” Michael reassures.
“Thank you.” Levi repeats.
“Take it easy,” Michael urges, and hangs up.
It’s with Michael’s words in his head that Levi heads upstairs, scoping for Pearl. He finds her on the couch, knitting.
Levi checks out the pantry. Then the fridge and freezer. “Pearl, the only ingredients we have on hand for lasagna are frozen corn and salt,” he points out.
“Corn?” she glances up, confused and then shakes her head. “I keep forgetting it’s not traditional, with noodles and sauce and tons of cheeses.”
“No, it’s definitely not that,” he wrinkles his nose. “And I definitely don’t wanna go to SuperOne on my day off. Or, like, ever.”
“So,” Pearl says, thinking out loud. “What do you think...about changing it up a bit? Going to the County Market in town?”
“Farther away,” Levi points out.
“Yeah, but I mean, if it helps put our minds at ease? Why not try it?” Pearl offers.
“Is your mom a County Market fan?” Levi asks, careful.
“Oh, no, SuperOne all the way,” Pearl reassures. “She only goes to County Market if she absolutely must. And then? She always sent me in for her.”
“So…?”
“So, she wouldn’t step foot in there,” Pearl insists, confident.
“Okay, sounds good,” Levi nods.
They drive separately, because it still makes Pearl feel more in control than driving with Levi in the car, too. He gets that. In his own way. Hadn’t he just avoided talking to Pearl about his Mom-panic because of all the ways she might remind him of Carla?
In the store, Pearl gets a cart and settles Cleo in the front, who smiles. She loves all of the smells.
Levi lists ingredients from memory and Pearl finds them quickly, more familiar with the store than he is. They make good time, and check out wherever they want, not worrying about avoiding a certain lane. Or a certain person.
When they get home later, Levi exhales, and offers to put everything away.
“Thanks,” he says, hefting a couple bags in his arms. “I think that worked.”
--
Pearl doesn’t want to let Levi down, but she is pretty sure, this hasn’t worked. For one thing? She has nothing to wear. For another, the cabin is cluttered and nothing is right about it and also? The kitchen? Is tiny. Only room for one person. Two if one is small, like Francesca.
She’s made a third pass over all her kitchen surfaces when Levi comes to the kitchen doorway and just looks. “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like?” Pearl asks.
“It looks like Cleo’s trying to get your attention,” he gestures. Levi’s right of course. Cleo has been trying to get Pearl’s attention for a while. Front paws on her legs.
Taking the hint, Pearl abandons the cleaning and scoops up the dog, sitting in the middle of the floor. Levi joins her, sitting so they can see each other eye to eye.
“I’m nervous, too,” he admits, softly.
“I have nothing to wear. My hair’s not right. The cabin’s...small. Okay, it’s small, Levi. The kitchen will fit one person cooking comfortably at a time, not three of us. God, what was I thinking?” she vents, Cleo nipping at her shaking hands.
“Um… Clothes are good,” Levi offers.
“It’s not funny, Levi. My mother once dragged me into her house and made me change my top before she would agree to drive me to her stylist at her salon. Who did not know the first thing about my hair, by the way. It was an awful trip.”
“My mom doesn’t care about clothes. She cares that they’re clean, and she’d prefer that they don’t have holes, but other than that? She doesn’t care. She’s gonna love your hair. I know, because she was always talking about how with boys’ hair you can’t ‘do it up cute.’”
“Well, my hair is definitely not cute…” Pearl remarks sardonically.
“And the cabin’s perfect. Okay? It’s homey,” Levi counters, predicting Pearl’s next comment.
“Are you sure you didn’t mean homely?” Pearl insists.
“Will you stop, please?” Levi asks. “I get that you’re wound up, but could you at least try to listen to me before you tell me what I say doesn’t matter to you?” he asks.
That stops Pearl in her tracks. “I’m sorry. I’m anxious. I ramble. What you say matters. Maybe…” she breathes, experimentally slowly. “Maybe we should try to slow down…” she suggests.
Levi nods.
After Pearl has breathed for a while, he speaks up: “So, I spoke to Dominique’s dad this morning…”
“Really?” Pearl asks. “You spoke to Dominique’s dad?” She’s trying this thing where she repeats what Levi’s said, asks questions, instead of countering it out of panic. “How was that?”
“He had some good advice…” Levi shrugs. “If you want it.”
“Please,” Pearl says.
“He said to review what we both know about my mom. So…” Levi takes out his phone, so Pearl can see the screen where Mom’s most recent text is visible:
Excited 2 c u & Pearl with a row of hearts.
“That’s what we know?” Pearl asks. “She’s excited to see us?”
“That is what we know,” Levi breathes. “So, Michael, that’s Dominique’s dad, he said whenever we start to spin, to like, repeat what we know about my mom. About dinner tonight.”
“She’s excited to see us,” Pearl fills in.
“That’s it,” Levi nods.
He’s getting up from the floor when Pearl reaches out for his hand. Pearl doesn’t miss the wariness that seeps into his gaze or how he takes a step back almost without realizing.
Pearl drops her hand. Stays seated.
“I was just...going to say thank you. I know we both have...things…and I know my trauma and stuff isn’t great to be around. And it’s not your job? But thank you, for helping me navigate that.” Pearl clarifies, soft.
Levi blinks. “Oh.” His phone chimes with a message. “Mom’s on the way, but she wants to know if you have pans or if she should bring them?” he asks, squinting.
“We do have pans in our possession,” Pearl nods. “I’ve got to get up now. Hardwood floors are not comfortable when you’re my age,” Pearl groans.
“You keep acting like you’re ancient,” Levi quips laughing gently. He offers her a hand. “But in 20 years, I’ll be your age. It ain’t that old…”
“Oh, get back to me when you’re pushing 38, little bro, and we’ll see how you feel about it then…” She grunts, having taken Levi’s hand and gotten to her feet. “I’m gonna go get dressed.”
“She’s excited to see us and she’s not bringing pans.” Levi calls, as Pearl shuts herself in the bathroom. The door is closed, but she can still make out his words from behind the door. “And nobody’s gonna make you change.”
“Thank you, Levi. Love you. She’s excited to see us, and she’s not bringing pans,” Pearl repeats, loud enough for him to make out her every word.
They keep saying it to each other.
Strangely, it doesn’t get old.
--
Levi’s waiting by the window, watching for his mom’s car to pull in the drive outside. The minute he sees it, he’s off the couch, calling, “She’s here. I’m gonna go meet her.”
He doesn’t care how it looks. Him, taking off out of the cabin at top speed, to help his mom carry in whatever she did bring. With all his nerves about seeing her (and seeing her without Dad) Levi hadn’t quite expected just how badly he did need to see his mom.
Levi’s at her car before she even turns it off.
“Levi!” she calls. “How are you, baby?” she asks, and he very nearly reaches through the window to hug her, but she holds him off long enough to open the door.
Then, he waits for her to stand. And grabs on. “I missed you.”
“Oh, you’ve gotten so tall. And you look happy. Did you and your friends have a good time?”
“Yeah, we’ll tell you all about it. Come in,” he invites, offering an arm. “Oh. Should I grab anything?” he asks, sending a smirk her way.
“Don’t act like you don’t know I got peach cobbler for dessert. It’s in the case on the passenger seat.” Mom smiles back at him.
They get inside the house and Levi drops off the peach cobbler at the table.
“Pearl, this is my mother, Nia Major-West. Mom, this is Pearl.” Levi introduces. The smile on his face big enough to break it.
“Nice to meet you, Mrs. West,” Pearl greets, awkwardly, shuffling Cleo’s leash from hand to hand, and finally managing a handshake.
Mom’s mouth drops open as she takes in Pearl. “Oh, please. Call me Nia. You look just like Paris. Both you kids do…” Tears spring to her eyes. “He’d be so happy about this. You know that, right?”
“Yes, ma’am,” Pearl answers. “So, I’ve heard, from Levi.”
“So, are you better at the stove, or at assembling, Pearl?” Mom asks.
“Oh, I’m good, wherever you put me,” Pearl agrees.
“She’s really good at organizing,” Levi offers.
“Would you mind helping out with assembly, then?” Mom asks. “I’m terrible at it. Not patient. And if Levi does it, he eats all my cheese before it gets on the lasagna.”
“That was one time,” Levi objects, laughing. “I was like, 2. Let it go.”
“What happened?” Pearl asks as Mom gets busy preheating the skillet.
“So, family legend says that once upon a time--” Levi begins.
“--The first time I ever made this lasagna--” Mom interjects.
“Yes, the first time Mom ever made this lasagna. She was putting it together. As you do.” Levi nods.
“Right. As you do,” Pearl confirms.
“And she goes, ‘Here, baby. Hold this for Mommy.’ And she hands me an open bag of cheese. So, of course, she’s cooking and I’m thinking I’m the luckiest toddler in the world, probably, just stuffing my face.”
“Paris is taking pictures…” Mom adds, laughing.
Levi joins her, laughing, too. “And you had no idea--” he gasps.
“None,” Mom’s breathless. “Just turn around and I’m like, ‘Baby, where’s Mommy’s cheese at?’ And what’d you say?”
“I mean, I told her the truth. It was all gone…” Levi manages, still laughing.
“So what did you put on it?” Pearl asks. “You can’t have your lasagna without the proper cheese…”
“Oh, we had cheese. We had all kinds of cheese. So we improvised. Tasted fine.” Mom says, same as she always does.
“So when Rachael Ray said use whatever you have on hand...she meant that…” Pearl glances at Levi. “So what did we go to the store for?”
“Because,” he teases gently. “In order to use what you have on hand, we needed to have stuff on hand.”
“Ah,” Pearl slaps her forehead.
“Just like your Daddy. Needing his recipes. Going to the store to stock up on all y’all’s ingredients.” Mom says, happily.
Though it is kinda tight in the kitchen, Levi kinda loves it. Being close like this. It feels like it used to feel. Not empty. With an extra person in their space it feels even more full. Not like anyone’s missing at all.
The lasagna still tastes great, just how Levi remembers. The peach cobbler’s amazing, and Levi and Pearl share about getting to hang out with Jesus, and Mariana, Dominique and Francesca.
Pearl texts and asks if Jesus would mind if they showed Levi’s mom the picture of all of them together. Jesus says she can, and thanks her for asking.
Mom puts on her glasses and looks at the picture. While Levi points out everybody.
“Now, whose baby is this?” she asks, pointing to Francesca.
“That’s Francesca,” Pearl smiles. “She’s their sister. Much younger, obviously, like Levi is to me.”
“She’s lovely. And these two are the twins,” she says, noting Jesus and Mariana. “And this one here is your friend who you spoke to her dad on the phone this morning,” Mom fills in, pointing out Dominique.
Levi smiles. “Yeah, you got ‘em all.”
“Speaking of pictures,” Mom digs in her purse, pushing her dessert plate and coffee cup further on the table. She finally takes out what she’s been looking for and hands them to Pearl.
Levi scoots in closer. Hears Pearl gasp.
He can see what she does. Four pictures: one of Dad holding newborn baby Pearl, smiling and looking younger than Levi can ever remember him being.
“That’s the day you were born. Said he couldn’t stop holding you. Couldn’t stop staring at his beautiful girl. His Pearl Evangeline.”
Pearl cringes. “My middle name’s so awkward.”
“Dad chose it,” Levi fills in. “He liked Biblical names. But I guess your mom had already chosen your first name. So he convinced her to let him give you your middle name. He told that story all the time.”
Pearl’s mouth drops open. “I didn’t know. I feel so terrible for making cracks about it all these years.”
“Now this one,” Mom points to the next photo on what looks like her first birthday. “Cabbage Patch babies were all the rage, and he searched high and low for one. For hours, probably.”
“But days or weeks, if you asked Dad--” Levi interjects.
“Right, so he found you, little Archibald Frances,” she points to the bald baby doll in a hat.
“I still have that doll. He got it for me?” Pearl asks, incredulous.
“He did, yes,” Mom nods.
“I never knew that,” Pearl manages.
A third picture shows toddler-Pearl, holding The Cat in the Hat right side up. Dad sitting with her in the rocking chair.
“Now, you were reading to him there. Not vice versa.” Mom points out. “Paris wanted me to be sure if I ever got to show you these, to tell you. Two years old, and reading. He couldn’t believe it.”
Levi watches as Pearl slowly flips to the last picture. Pearl with her hair in braids. Kissing Dad on the cheek. “You started school early, he said,” Mom explains. “You just turned four a few months before, but he got you into kindergarten. He was so proud. Your first day…”
“That’s it?” Pearl asks. “I mean...I’m sorry, I don’t mean to sound ungrateful. These are amazing. I just...I wish there were more…”
“We all do,” Mom nods. “But we’ve never been sure how many pictures you had with him, and these were all he had with him, when…”
“I understand,” Pearl nods. “Thank you so much.”
“Thank you for letting me come out here and see y’all. I’ve missed my Levi to bits. So quiet without you and Dad around.”
“I know,” he says, looking down, a little regretful.
“But you’re happy. I can see that,” Mom says, looking satisfied to know this. Looking like she’s proud. “And as long as you two have each other, I know I can worry a little less.”
“You should come again, for dinner,” Levi blurts.
“Yes. You should. We could make this a thing. Family dinner?” Pearl tries. “I know we’re not exactly family, but…”
“Oh yes, we are. Levi, tell Pearl. We are exactly family,” Mom says, putting an arm around them both.
“We’re exactly family,” Levi tells Pearl softly and Pearl laughs a little.
Holding the pictures between them like this, it’s almost like Dad’s in on the hug, too.
In fact, Levi can pretty much guarantee it.

Say (All I Need) Jealous Part 6.1
Bucky x Reader, (slight) Steve x Reader
Warnings: angst (if you call it that), jealousy, cuss words, mentions of smut (not really but ehh) and idk what else
Word Count: 3806 (w/o lyrics)
Song inspiration: “Say (All I Need)” One Republic (wow finally not a NJ song) I also re-ordered the lyrics to make it flow better with the story.
A/N: Finally Part 6! I liked @lostinthoughtsandfeelings’ comment where she suggested to show a bit more backstory of how the reader chose Bucky over Steve and why (kinda..not really sorry). So part 6 is gonna have 2 parts as you can tell from the title. This part is the Reader’s POV and the second is going to be Steve’s. Don’t mind any of my mistakes this took a while to write and I really don’t wanna look over this lol. If you wanna be tagged let me know and feedback is very much appreciated! Hope its good and you guys like it!

=============================================== *Flashback to 5 years ago*
Do you know where your heart is?
Do you think you can find it?
Or did you trade it for something
Somewhere better just to have it?
You and Bucky have been dating for about 3 months now. Nothing that serious you thought, since your relationship with Bucky was still fresh…well besides the 24 hour sex. You’ve been working on a mission with Nat and Clint for about a month and just arrived back to the tower. Bucky was with Bruce to make improvements for his arm.
“Hey F.R.I.D.A.Y., Do you know where Bucky is?” you asked aloud.
“Yes Ms. (Y/L/N), Bucky is in the lab with Dr. Banner. Would you like me yo summon him for you?” F.R.I.D.A.Y asked.
“No it’s fine F.R.I.D.A.Y. I’ll just go there.” you replied. As you walked near the lab you heard voices talking. Entering the lab Bucky was on an exam table and Bruce looking over his metal arm. They were video chatting with Tony about whatever. Tony was the first to notice you entrance.
“Agent (Y/L/N).” Tony said calmly looking your way. The other two both turned in your direction.
Do you know what your fate is?
And are you trying to shake it?
You’re doing your best dance,
Your best look
You’re praying that you make it
“(Y/N), I have to talk to you.” Bucky said sternly. You were taken back by his tone and your small smile went away. You nodded as he directed you to the living room area.
“What’s wrong Bucky? You’re scaring me.” you said quietly.
“I have to go on a mission (Y/N).” he said sadly.
“Ok, how long are you going to be gone for?” you asked.
“That’s the thing, (Y/N). Umm…I’m going to be gone for 9 months.” he paused. “Tony said he wanted me and Banner to go with him to England to get some leads on HYDRA.”
“Well, why can’t I go with you guys?” you asked.
“I’m sorry (Y/N). Tony said he just wanted us three to go.” he sighed. “(Y/N), I don’t know if I could do a long distance relationship. I know we’ve been dating for 3 months and it has been great, but…” Bucky hesitated, “I think we just need a break.” he avoided eye contact through his whole plea. “I’m sorry, (Y/N). I gotta get packing.” he sighed as he rushed out of the lab.
Well, bless my soul
You’re a lonely soul
‘Cause you won’t let go
Of anything you hold
Bucky began to pack up for the mission. He felt guilty for putting an end to your guys’ relationship. When he finished packing up his stuff and exited his room. As he began to walk away from his room he passed your door. He set down his suitcase and stood at the closed door. He looked a the door and raised his hand about to knock. He paused and though “Maybe she’s mad at me…I shouldn’t say anything to hurt her even more.” He stepped away from your door and began to walk towards the elevators.
Meanwhile, you sat in your room thinking as tears began to fall down your face. “Why the hell are you feeling sad (Y/N). It was bound to happen. You are a strong independent woman, fuck him for ending your relationship.” you said to yourself as you took a deep breath and wiped away the tears. You exited your room seeing the elevator doors close.
Well, all I need
Is the air I breathe
And a place to rest my head
About 2 months Bucky left you were trying to forget about the whole breakup situation and trained to keep your mind out of the gutter. You were throwing punches at a punching bag while Sam held the back of it to keep it from moving around.
“So, (Y/N) I heard you are single again.” he said with a devilish smirk. You happily scoffed at his remark and nodded yes. “I was wondering if you wanna go out sometime?” he asked.
“I’m very flattered Sam, but I’m just trying to recover and find myself.” you said kindly. He nodded understanding and his shoulder slumped a bit. “But hey, we could go and get a drink sometime. Maybe find you a girl.” you said winking at Sam.
He laughed. “Yeah, I like that. Hey who knows you could probably be a better wingman than Steve and Bucky combined. I mean your a woman and you know how other women think.” he said happily. You both finished your training and began to exit the gym. As you left you waved Sam goodbye as you headed to the kitchen to get a snack. When you walked into the kitchen Steve was there making breakfast. It looked like he just came back from a jog.
“Hey soldier. What you making there?” you asked Steve. He turned around smiling at you showing you his breakfast.
“Hey (Y/N), oh, I uh got some fruit from the farmers market that’s near here and decided they would go good with some yogurt. I still got some leftover fruits. You want me to make you some?” he asked you politely.
You shook your head no and said “Nah, its fine I’ll just take some of yours.” You smiled as you got a spoon and dipped it into his yogurt bowl. He looked at you in shock like you kicked a innocent dog or cat. You were always super friendly with Steve. You also sorta kinda had a small crush on him when you first started working with the Avengers, but your crush on him dialed down when you began to date Bucky. Now that Bucky ended his relationship a few months ago you’ve began to notice how kind Steve was to you. As you ate your spoonful of yogurt and fruit Steve copied you and began to eat.
“So, (Y/N), how was training with Sam?” he asked you.
You chuckled and said “He’s ok, but I think I’m gonna ask Nat to spar with me again. I feel bad for kicking Sam’s ass for the past couple of days.”
“Well, I’m kinda glad I get my jogging buddy back.” he laughed. You chuckled at his comment and put your spoon in the sink. “You know I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime. I feel like I never see you during the day, you’re always so busy.” he said as you walked to the fridge to get a bottle of water.
“Yeah, I’d like that Steve.” you said smiling.
Well, bless my soul
You’re a lonely soul
'Cause you won’t let go
Of anything you hold
*Later that evening*
You walked up to Steve’s room and knocked on his door. He opened his door slightly and realizing that it was you he open his door wide. “(Y/N)? What are you doing here?” he asked you and looking at what you were wearing. “What are you wearing? I-I mean it’s beautiful and you look gorgeous and-” you cut Steve off by holding you hand up.
“Steve, you said you wanted to go out…So why not now? We could go get some food from that one fancy restaurant that Tony always bugs us all about. I also swiped Tony’s mastercard from him before he left.” you said with a smile. Steve chuckled at your comment and motioned for you to enter his room.
“I’ll get dressed. You can wait in here.” he said. You looked around his room and everything was tidy and clean. Walking to his desk and seeing a small notepad with a list of things. As you read over the list you smiled taking note that one day you would binge watch Star Wars with Steve. Steve came out of his bathroom with his matching navy blue suit. You stared at Steve for what felt like the longest time. “Is this ok?” he asked you shyly.
“Oh my god! Steve you look awesome!” you said happily. “Let’s go and spend Tony’s money” you laughed.
“Alright let’s go.” Steve said happily.
*Later at the restaurant*
After you and Steve were close to finishing your food you suggested something. “So Steve, why don’t we go the the club around the corner. You know find yourself a girl. We could bring Sam with us too, apparently I’m his wingwoman.” you chuckled as you “paid” for the food.
Steve nodded and pulled out his phone. “I guess I should call Sam then.” he laughed.
The waiter returned with Tony’s card and asked “I’ve noticed that Mr. Stark isn’t here. May I ask why or how you have his card or should I call over my manager?” You shook your head no.
“Oh, no I’m sorry. I’m Tony’s daughter (Y/N) and he gave me his card for the weekend. So I decided to go out to dinner with my boyfriend.” you lied sounding fake concerned. “Please don’t call your manager over, my dad would kill me if he knew I’m dating someone who he doesn’t know. My dad is very strict.” you added to the lie. The waiter nodded.
“I’m sorry miss. I didn’t know Mr. Stark had a daughter. Let me get you our speciality chocolate cake of course on the house.” he apologized scurrying to the kitchen. You looked over at Steve smiling.
“Well, Ms. Stark I’m glad to be your unknown boyfriend.” he chuckled.
“Hey, at least we got free dessert!” you said giddy. The waiter came back with the cake and two forks. You and Steve shared the cake and once you finished you both exited the restaurant with you arms linked. “Oh is Sam going to be joining us?” you asked Steve and he nodded yes. As the two of you arrived at the club Sam was already in the line waiting for you guys. He waved over at you and Steve. “Hey Sam, I guess your wingwoman came to the rescue afterall.” you laughed and so did he.
“Yeah, I’m actually happy that you are gonna help me out. Seeing that you are busy with someone else.” he whispered at you so Steve wouldn’t hear. You shoved him away. “Hey, you know it’s true. The only thing is I wish this fucking line would move.” he yelled over the crowd. You and Steve laughed at him. You looked at the bounce of the club recognizing the face.
“Follow me guys.” you said leading the two gentlemen to the front of the line. “Henry? Is that you? Oh my god it is!!” you smiled and so did the bouncer.
“(Y/N) (Y/L/N) as I like and breathe! Long time no see girl!” he replied in a friendly tone. Henry was a super buff guy (like most bouncers of the bouncers that worked there), but he was a very nice person when you get to know him. “Who do you got here? Getting into trouble again I suppose?” he added and you blushed.
“Oh no, these two are my friends. I’m their wingwoman for the night.” you said. “Do you think you could let an old friend in?” you asked.
“Uhhh,” he paused looking at you, but you gave him your best puppy dog eyes and he sighed, “yeah you can go in. Just don’t tell my boss.” he winked at you pulling moving aside to let you guys in. You smiled and kissed his cheek and you lead both Steve and Sam into the club and up to the bar.
“What just happened?” Sam asked and Steve nodded in agreement. You waved the bartender over ordering a whiskey.
“Oh you mean Henry?” you asked the pair and the nodded. “Well we use to work together.” you said calmly.
“Umm, where?” Sam asked.
“Here.” you said and the two had a questioned look. “I was the person who would kick people out if they became to rowdy and if they would decline or ever so much as touch me I would beat their ass (a/n: basically like Ronda Rousey in Expendables 3).” you said confidently smirking as the bartender gave you your drink and you downed it. You ordered another and they two men looked at you.
“Huh, that kinda explains your aggressiveness.” Steve said quietly, but you heard him and shoved him.
“HEY! I am not aggressive!” you yelled and the two laughed at your assertiveness. “Whatever! Sam did you find some poor girl that has to listen to you talk about how great you are?” you asked for friend.
“Ouch, but yeah that girl over there with the black dress.” he pointed at a table near the bodies of dancing people. You nodded taking note and downing your second drink, you stood up from your chair and began to walk near the girl. Sam and Steve saw you talking to the girl. “She better do me right.” Sam said to Steve and he chuckled. As you were talking to the girl the guys both ordered drinks from the bartender. You began to walk back you winked at Sam. Then the girl looked over and began to walk towards Sam. “Hello there.” Sam said confidently and she giggled. She took his hand and brought him to the other dancing bodies.
“What did you say to her?” Steve asked as he sipped his drink.
“Oh I just said he was an Avenger and saves the world.” you replied smiling ordering yet another drink. The rest of the night was a blur, but you knew that you went home with someone.
*Early in the Morning*
You woke up with an excruciating headache. You groaned you felt something heavy around your small frame. As you turned you saw the person who was next to you. Steve Fucking Rogers. You were mentally screaming. Slowly moving his hand off your stomach you got of his bed and tried to find you clothes. They were scattered everywhere. “Damn, I guess we had a good time.” you said in your mind. Even though you didn’t really remember the sex all, you remembered was how much you liked it and being with Steve. Right when you got your dress off of the ground Steve noticed the absence of your presence in the bed.
“Rushing to get out of here?” Steve asked quietly and ashamed. You looked up at him and sighed.
“I’m sorry I’m rushing, but I just got out of a relationship and it’s your best friend for fucks sake. I just need some time to think. I’m sorry Steve.” you said sadly as you walked up to him and kissed his cheek. You quickly got your belongings and rushed out of his room running into your room. You dropped everything as you closed your door and with your back against the door you slid down into a sitting position. “What the fuck did I just do.” you said to yourself.
Do you know where your love is?
Do you think that you lost it?
You felt it so strong, but
Nothing’s turned out how you wanted
*Later that Afternoon*
“Maria, I need to clear my head. Can you please help me?” you sighed. She nodded at you a concerning look.
“What’s wrong (Y/N)?” she asked. “And what are you wearing!?!” she added pointing at your sweater. You looked down at your sweater.
“What? This? My nephew made this for me so back up.” you defended the ugly-ish sweater. “But I need your help.” You loved Maria she was your mentor when you first became an avenger and then the two of you became close friends.
“What is it?” she demanded and you sighed.
“I slept with Steve.” you said cowering a bit.
“Wait what? Nat owes me $20?” she snickered and you slapped her hand.
“Maria! Ugh, help me!!” you exclaimed and she laughed.
“Fine. How did this happen?” she asked you.
“We got drunk at a club and you know one thing led to another.” you replied.
“Damn, I wish that would happen to me.” she said silently so you wouldn’t hear, but you did. “Well what are your feelings towards Steve?” she asked another question.
“Steve is a sweetheart and is always nice to me.” you replied.
Maria nodded, “Ok, how do you feel about Bucky or should I say did you feel?” she asked you.
“When we were together he was great as well, but there was something different about him. Like good different. Even though he broke up with me which was stupid and I don’t understand why he did that still.” you said.
“Well then, who do you have more feelings for?” Maria asked you.
“I don’t know. They are both great guys, but I can’t choose.” you said sighing putting your head on the table with defeat.
“Well, I believe that you will make the right choice.” Maria said patting you shoulder. “Now let’s order you some food because I know that will cheer your up.” she added and you laughed agreeing.
Do you think you can find it?
Do you think you can find it?
Do you think you can find it?
Better than you had it
You’ve been avoid Steve for days. You felt bad, but you were trying to escape the awkwardness. You’ve locked yourself in your room just thinking about what you should do. You sighed loudly and exited your room and walked to Steve’s room. You paused for a moment and right when you were about to knock on the door it opened quickly.
“Oh, (Y/N). Hi.” Steve said avoiding eye contact.
“Hey Steve.” you said. “We need to talk.” you continued walking past him and sitting on his make bed. He closed the door behind him and followed in your footsteps.
“You’re gonna talk about that night, right?” he asked you. As you looked at him you were about to cry, but you tried to keep it together.
“Yeah, I don’t think we should tell Bucky. I mean he’s your best friend for fucks sake, Steve.” you said keeping your calm and he nodded as he walked closer to you.
“Please tell you felt something when we were together for that short amount of time. Please (Y/N).” he said looking at you.
“I’m really sorry Steve, but I didn’t feel anything.” you lied. Of course you felt something. Steve was so sweet to you the entire night, but you felt like you cheated with Bucky (a/n: even tho he broke up witchu…i’m sorry for interrupting but like asdfghjkl).
“(Y/N), look into my eyes and say you didn’t feel anything.” he said grabbing you face forcing you to look at him.
“I didn’t feel anything.” you said sternly looking into the stupid, beautiful eyes. Steve has tears forming in his eyes and tried to hold yours back. You took his hands off of your face and slowly exited his room. “Just know Steve if something happened that night you met me things would be different.” you said as he exited his room closing the door. You had tears running down your face and walked to Maria’s room. She saw your state and hugged you as you sobbed into her shoulder.
(say) all I need
Is the air I breathe
And a place to rest my head
*4 Months later*
Ever since your talk with Steve both of you were avoiding one another and everyone noticed, but didn’t say a word. It was hard to try and avoid one another, but whenever you did bump into one another you would have small talk. Both of you were slowly beginning to talk to one another, trying not to make it awkward.
Both you and Steve were talking in the kitchen as you both were eating lunch. Out of nowhere you both heard the elevator ding. You both looked to the doors opening an you saw the one and only James ‘Bucky’ Barnes. He exited the elevator, looked at the two of you and walked straight to his room. Both you and Steve looked at each other questionably. You got up walking to Bucky’s room and Steve was behind you. His door was closed. You knocked on it hoping he would open the door and luckily he did.
“Can we come in?” you asked and Steve behind you. He looked at the two of you and closed the door. Right when you were going to knock on the door again Steve stopped you.
“Let’s let him rest. He’s probably tired.” Steve said quietly and you nodded walking away.
*5 weeks later*
Bucky had been avoiding both you and Steve for the past weeks. You were on the couch binging some New Girl when Bucky came into the living room. He sat on the other side of the couch and began to watch with you. You looked over at him and he with you.
“We need to talk (Y/N).” he said. ‘That was never a good sign.’ you said to yourself. Your turned off the TV and showed Bucky your full attention. “I thought about what happened between us when I left for my mission.” he started and looked at your blank face nodding for him to continue. “I wanna tell you that I met someone in England and one thing led to another and we slept together.” he added.
“Why are you telling my this Bucky? You’re the one who broke up with me.” you said in reply.
“I know, but I wanted to tell you because a part of me felt like I cheated on you and it felt like I was being weighed down by all this guilt.” he paused. “And I kinda sorta said your name during sex with that girl.” he said looking down and you just laughed.
“Oh my god! That poor girl.” you said laughing. Bucky laughed at your comment as well.
“Yes well that didn’t last for long, but that wasn’t what I was thinking about for the past months.” he said and you nodded for him to continue. “I want to get back together with you. I know, I know before you stop me, I was wrong. I was stupid to break things up between us. We were great together and I regret everything. I missed you, I missed being with you, making you laugh and smile. I feel like I lost a part of me when I left you. I’m sorry (Y/N). Just know that I still love you and I’m sorry for what I did.” he finished sighing and about to get up from his seat. You stopped him and grabbed his face with you hands and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. Looking at his shocked blue-ish grey eyes, you smiled.
“I forgive you, Bucky. But I have to think before I give you my answer.” you said quietly and he nodded as he got up from his seat and exiting the living room.
“What the fuck am I going to do now?” you said to yourself with some tears in your eyes.
Do you know where the end is?
Do you think you can see it?
Well, until you get there
Go on, go ahead and scream it
Just say…

The Viridian Vanguard (Part 24)
Crack!
The spider golem’s last weak point shattered, it frantically, uselessly flailed about before it fell over on its back, legs curling up into itself as it deactivated. Weiss smiled as she ripped her runeblade out from it, held it up into the air as all six of Winter’s summons joined her and posed beside their “kill.”
Winter cheered from her place on the balcony above, Tygan just nodded his head, and switched to the other feeds in front of him.
Thoom!
Sayuri sent the wooden slab rocketing back with a compressed air explosion, before she thrust out the hand her “spitter” was mounted on. The weapon whirred and screamed like a miniature jet engine, a cyclone exploding out and blasting the slab. Her arm wavered slightly, Sayuri braced it against her other wrist, and the slab didn’t move an inch for the rest of the minute.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Goro stood at the pole again with his cannon this time, raining fiery balls of death down on the golems swarming around him, the hapless constructs exploding into smouldering pieces and ash before they could even get close to the barrier.
<Come on! Come on!> he yelled, taking a hand off his cannon to beat his breastplate. <Let ‘em at me, set ‘em all loose, this shit is too fuckin’ easy!>
<We’re not sending any more golems at you until you dial it back!> cried one of the technicians via comm-crystal. <You’re breaking them too badly, we won’t be able to recycle even half of the ones you’ve already busted!>
<Fuck you!> Goro snapped back. <What’s the point of training if you don’t always put your 110% into it?!>
<That’s enough, Aneyama,> Tygan interrupted calmly. <You can get off the pole now, you’ve already got full marks for this test.>
<Tch,> Goro said, shaking his head as he holstered his cannon over his back. <Next time you want me to break out my big guns, bring out the bigger golems, too!>
<I’ll keep it mind,> Tygan said. <For now, get started on your cooldown.>
Goro jumped off the pole and back to the ground, the clean-up crew gave him dirty looks as he passed them by; he just smiled, admiring the smoking ground, smouldering wreckage, and numerous craters left in his wake.
By 9:30PM, all of Tygan’s students were back underneath their tent, in much higher spirits, and with far less injuries or wounds to be treated by Penny, or the others—and even then, they were usually from accidents, overexertion, or bruises and cuts from earlier acting up. Lively conversation abounded, folks bragging about how well they had done on a certain test, complimenting others, and discussing plans for future lessons.
Meanwhile, Tygan was in the corner, sitting on a large root with Penny, reviewing the statistics and the footage, talking with her in hushed tones. Eventually he got up and strolled back into the front of the class, clapping his hands for attention, waiting for the hubbub to die down before he spoke.
<I have to say, everyone: I’m impressed!> he said. <All across the board, you’ve all done spectacularly with this round of evaluative tests, most of you scoring well above the average or better. I can really see why your peers, families, and mentors thought you’d be best off in a special, focused combat class like this!>
Folks cheered this time, beaming and soaking in the praise, giving out high fives and other friendly gestures..
<And on that same note, I now know exactly why you’re all still going to be Initiates for a long time yet!> Tygan said cheerfully, before his eyes opened, his mouth curled into a scowl, and his voice became deathly serious. <Because without your foci, almost all of you suck, and suck hard.>
All the smiles were suddenly wiped off faces, the students looked at Tygan in a mix of confusion or indignation.
<Adept and Master Weavers uses their foci as an extension of their body and power, not as a crutch nor compensation for their failings and lack. Your weapons and tools are supposed to amplify your natural capabilities to greater heights and allow you to take on incredible challenges, not ensure that you can reliably pass the most basic batteries of evaluative tests!
<I get it: you are Watchers, you are Pit fighters, you are Makers. You live and die by the quality of your tools, by the skill with which you wield them, and by the echoes they have gained under you, and whoever else may have used them before. But you are all also Weavers, and there is no putting away, no unloading, no blunting the most dangerous weapons you have:
<Yourselves.>
Tygan closed his eyes again, his frown turning into a neutral line, his voice flat as he said, <In time, you all have the potential to become truly great, ready to fight, defend, and change this realm, for fame or infamy… but before all that, you must learn to control that power, with or without the help of your foci.
<Remember this: the Primals are not in their positions because they can unleash power like the most devastating storms and phenomenon in nature; they are there because they know when to stay their wrath, when and how much of a percentage of their power to use, and when to unleash fury like Avalon herself.
<And with that: you are all dismissed! I will inform you all within two days time when our next session will be, and if you have any other inquiries, please send me a message via my public line, and I will get back to you tomorrow morning by 8AM at the very latest.>
Tygan bowed, the class stood up and did the same, before he turned around and left, gracefully launching himself up into the tree tops, before hopping from branch to branch, leaving a stunned, silent, and scowling class in his wake.
<Well, shit got heavy real fast—who’s up for drinks?!> someone cried. <Last one not under the table gets a free pass on the bill!>
<You’re on!> Goro said, grinning as he stepped up to them.
They blanched immediately. <Hell no, Goro! Not you! You stay away from this, I like my regular!>
<Well maybe you should have thought of that before you sent an open invite to everyone, ah?!> Goro snapped, hunching his shoulders.
Winter shook her head, wrapping a shoulder around Weiss and coaxing her away from the rapidly heating up argument.
Penny floated up to them and asked, “Would either of you like to join your classmates for dinner, or their other recreational activities? It would be an excellent opportunity to strengthen bonds and make potentially helpful connections in the future.”
Weiss yawned, and shook her head. “Maybe some other day…” she mumbled. “I am so ready to be completely, absolutely done with today...”
“Winter?” Penny asked.
“I think Weiss needs me more than I need to start making a new professional network,” Winter replied, patting Weiss on her arm. “On a related note: you think you can make it all the way back home like this, little sister?”
“So long as we can take the teleporter back...” Weiss mumbled, before she yawned again. “I want to walk as little as possible from here on out...”
“I’m afraid the teleportation functionality is severely limited for the moment, due to the repairs in the Water Quadrant diverting majority of the resources and mana of the Terrace,” Penny said.
Weiss groaned. “Great...”
“Guess we’re just going to have to do this the old fashioned way,” Winter said, shrugging before she knelt down to the ground.
Weiss stared at her in disbelief. “Are you seriously going to give me a piggyback ride back home?”
“Are you going to refuse?” Winter replied calmly.
“No.” Weiss said, fixing up the contents of her belt, before wrapping her arms around Winter’s shoulders.
“Huh, this is strange...” Winter said as she grabbed Weiss’ legs and stood up.
“What is…?” Weiss mumbled as she nestled her head on her shoulder.
“It’s been a decade and a half since I last did this, and it’s still just as easy as it was then!” Winter hummed. “It’s like you’ve barely grown at all, little sister.”
Weiss scowled. “Oh, screw you...” she mumbled, before she quickly fell asleep, smiling.
A little over an hour later, Weiss was standing alone on the balcony of her and Winter’s home, dressed in her nightgown with one of her jackets thrown over it, leaning on the railing with a cup of black moss tea in hand.
She wasn’t doing much but sip and maybe gaze around for interesting sights in the Grove, until her comm-crystal beeped, with a message from Ruby: “On nightwatch. Super bored. Want to talk for a while?”
Weiss smiled, and replied, “Text or talk?”
“Talk. I need to keep my hands free for my farsighter.”
Weiss took a sip from her tea, and established a connection; soon enough, the holo in front of her showed Ruby standing on the edge of a rail, her hood up and her cloak tied tight around her. “Hey Weiss!” she said, waving and smiling at her, before she put a telescope-like device to her eye.
“Good evening, Ruby,” Weiss said, nodding. “Sure you’re not going to get in trouble for this?”
“Nope!” Ruby said, still looking through her farsighter. “I’m really only supposed to be a fail-safe, Iaros is the one we expect to catch anything suspicious out here.”
“Who’s Iaros?”
Ruby spared a hand to move her holo around, Weiss saw a rather large, hawk-like creature, jet black eyes, a sharp-hooked beak, prominent talons, and bright, fiery feathers. She shuddered, and said, “Yeesh, security crystals not intimidating enough for you Fae, huh?”
“Nope!” Ruby said, turning the holo back to herself. “It really helps with keeping wild animals from trying to sneak onto our convoys and into the supplies, having an apex predator keep guard. Though, he’s mostly just been eating domesticated meat and treats, since we still have plenty of animal repellents, there’s still a lot of us traveling together, and we’re not in the really wild zones yet.
“Anyway, enough about me: what’s up on your end? Penny hasn’t updated me on today yet, and I won’t really have the time to catch up for a while, anyway.”
Weiss sighed. “Just the usual, with life and the universe screwing with me… I don’t really want to talk about it.”
“Is it because it hurts to talk about it, or because you don’t want to bog me down with your baggage?” Ruby asked. “Because if it’s the second, I’m 100% open to hearing you out and lightening your load.”
“Are you sure about that?” Weiss asked. “It’s going to be about an hour, hour and a half worth of griping.”
Ruby chuckled. “I’m sure—that is what girlfriends do, right?”
Weiss blushed and looked away. “Well, if you’re so willing...” she muttered, before she gave her an abbreviated account of the day’s events, up until Winter’s giving her a piggyback ride back home.
“Wow,” Ruby said. “Pretty much just all action, combat, and the Pits since you woke up this morning, huh? You sure you should still be up and talking to me, instead of getting some sleep?”
“I should be, but I can’t right now,” Weiss replied. “We were starving by the time we got back, and myself and Winter proceeded to quite literally stuff our faces with as much food as we could fit in our mouths. By the time my stomach finally sent the signal that it was time to stop, it was already way too late, so here I am now, standing out at our balcony, sipping coffee while I wait till it’s safe for me to lie down again.”
She sighed. “I’m really worried that this might be my new normal, when it comes to food.”
“Why?” Ruby asked. “I mean, I’m pretty sure you and dad are growing enough to feed all even without allowance from the Council, and Qrow, Blake, and Ren are able to hunt enough for everyone on the reg.”
“It’s not how we’re going to get food that worries me, Ruby, it’s where all of it’s inevitably going to go,” Weiss grumbled, looking down at herself. “Penny assures me that most of it is going to end up metabolized and turned into mana, and that I can burn off the rest of the calories pretty quickly with spellcasting, but I’m concerned at just how much of both is going to happen while I still have this collar on,” she said, touching it.
“I might have to buy a new wardrobe for the meanwhile, and I’ve got this sinking feeling that Blake might have to permanently modify all my old clothes by the time this comes off!”
“I won’t mind if you gain some extra weight, Weiss,” Ruby said.
Weiss scowled. “Well I do, and I know your intentions are good, but I’d rather not hear that from you, especially because your genetics lets you eat cookies on a daily basis, and still keep your rock-hard, six-pack abs.”
She sighed heavily. “Anyway… how are things on your end?”
“Eh, pretty boring and tedious, actually,” Ruby said. “Lack of action aside, I miss you, and everyone else, too. This is actually the first time I’ve ever had an expedition where it’s just me that went, no close friends nor family.
“I mean—I’ve always accepted that there’s going to come a time where they might not be around, especially with how dangerous our jobs are, but when it actually happens… it’s never as easy as how you imagined it to be, you know…?”
“Do you want to talk about it, too...?” Weiss asked.
“Yeah but, I don’t really know where to start!” Ruby replied. “Kinda always relied on Penny for these things, seeing as it’s her job and all.”
“Maybe you could try one of your more memorable expeditions with them?” Weiss asked. “Or maybe your first trips together? Knowing you, there have to be some interesting stories there.”
Ruby paused, then nodded. “Huh… now that you mention it, Blake did start working with us because one of our old Keeper Team watchers quit on us, right on the eve of an important extended trip! How well she did then was how she became a permanent of the team now, actually.”
“Then would you mind telling me all about it?” Weiss said, smiling.
“Sure thing!” Ruby said, smiling and nodding. “It all started about a year ago...”
Note: Since some of you have been politely asking me to show Ruby doing her Keeper duties, y'all are getting a flashback series of chapters.
A farsighter is not just a simple telescope, it also automatically “tags” points of interest and living beings, and with relatively modern developments, have been used to sync up the data to comm-crystals and improve information in the wilderness and the battlefield.
Weavers have VASTLY increased caloric needs than other Fae. Aside from mana water, many watcher-weavers are equipped with energy drinks made with it as a base in case of emergency, extra watcher chocolate bars and similar treats, and receive the lion’s share of food and hunts.
Few mind, as they can perform tasks by themselves that would take scores more of non-weavers to do, and not nearly as efficiently.
In case of emergency or times of scarcity, large amounts of sugar, be it lactose, sucrose, or fructose, can be used to refuel weavers instead of mana water. It’s not nearly as effective nor efficient, but if the situation requires you to desperately shovel table sugar down into your mouth before washing it all down with a fruit milkshake, most weavers don’t really care.
Not all weavers have sweet teeth, and a good chunk of them abhor the taste of mana water, which is generally sweet with additional flavours and undertones that are difficult to describe in Nivian, or translated Actaeon. There are actually some famous Primals, Masters, and notable Adepts who have gone to great lengths to avoid using it, try to make them more palatable to their taste, or both, to the point of inventing entirely new classes and types of beverages and alchemical products over the course of their research.
This is actually how the famous “Fireki’s Fizzy Fun” series of drinks was invented, when the creator Weaver Fireki Venquen tried and failed miserably to make viable variations of pure mana water, and proceeded to sell the prototypes to fund future research. She became ABSURDLY rich from it, but unfortunately never did manage to find those mythical formulas she was looking for, before she died.
