GENERAL INTRODUCTION

Steam Powered Giraffe is a wonderful musical act with elements of comedy, pantomime and puppetry (shout out to GG the Giraffe).

Created in 1896 by Peter A. Walter I, the band consists of The Spine (David Michael Bennet), Rabbit (Isabella "Bunny" Bennet) and Zer0 (Bryan Barbarin).

Former members are Upgrade (Erin Burke) [from 2008 to 2011], The Jon (Jonathan Sprague) [from 2008 to 2012] and Hatchworth (Sam Luke) [from 2011 to 2016, although he 'became' a robot only after The Jon's departure].

RELEASED ALBUMS

Album One - the first one, most old-timey in vibe. with that one song you might have heard. there's also a 2011 version of it without upgrade, but with Ice-Cream Man

BUHGPOSTING ≈ Posts that I affiliate myself with, want to share, enjoy, or otherwise believe to be relevant. May or may not accompany other tags such as "utmost importance", but I tend to use it for lighthearted things/reblogs/et cetera.

BUHGGYTALK ≈ A tag for when my posts, or my tagging of a post, contain my direct yapping. This may also be used when I reblog a post that has something i'd like to say, but haven't.

BUHGGYVENT ≈ Venting tag, as you may be able to tell. You may hide this if you want — preferrably, if that's okay to request. I will rarely vent, because i hate speaking of anything negative I feel. See this as cries into the echo, please do not feel pressured to answer it/react to it or interact with it at all.

THE HECKERER ≈ Anything that reminds me of my beloved. from terms, to textposts, literally anything. More of a "ITS HIM!!! (?)" tag, may also be used if they show up in my blog personally.

HECKERCORE ≈ A more lighthearted, silly tag, for anything that reminds me of his "—core". For example, labels with technology, personal references, and much more. May be more of a "superficial" tag, compared to "the heckerer".

GO TEAM HEHA ≈ A tag specifically made for us as a couple, which may be used for: ships that are "us" (not in the delusional sense, just "omg theyre just like us fr), posts that fit both of us at the same time, terms that are both of us separately and/or as a couple, et cetera. This one is very silly, and also very personal — it is a reference to "Go Team Venture", from "The Venture Bros", which we are autistic about.

ARTHROPOOMFS ≈ A silly tag for my mutuals and anyone who I (humbly) consider myself to be in good terms with. May also be used for people I care about, and are in my Tumblr galaxy/circle. A very "buddy" coded tag! The "oomf" is not "one of my followers"/"one of my friends", and moreso the silly phonetics of the shortened term, "oumph".

AWESOMESTS ≈ For people who I particularly admire or otherwise think are cool. This tag is mainly like "woaw ur so pawesome!! jam on!!!", and is not meant to idolize or worship anyone. Its like a silly little badge handmade by me — this may also be used for blogs with gimmicks/dynamics/themes I enjoy.

@ USERNAME / @ (EMOJI [ANON]) ≈ Search WITHOUT the space!! Something (which wasn't added until later on in this blog, and is kinda wonky) for specific users. Will mainly be used for interactions or miscellaneous — coining posts are likely to be exempt, UNLESS the tag is used to signify that the coining post reminded me of that person. For example, I may tag @ lunentity in posts about the moon, or @ gengernoway in posts with silly critters in them.

GOING ON INSTINCT ≈ A tag for all things natural, wild, animalistic && nonhuman. May be used for otherkin/nonhuman posts and terms, for fanart of animal characters, for posts about animals and critters, and instinct-related posts. These themes and their posts may be directly or indirectly connected; the tagging may be erratic. May also have to do with posts/terms regarding natural human experiences, though I generally may avoid using this for real life issues and important things.

CHESIRE EMPIRE ≈ This onr is for all things related to disabilities, mental illness/conditions, as well as symptoms and much more. I also use this for anything that may be potentially linked to my/one's disabilities/conditions/illness/symptoms, but in a lighthearted fashion. Some terms with scary themes are an example of this; namely, disreality and horror. Make sure to use filters so my posts are safe for you to view, in case you are easily paranoid.

MISCELLANEOUS TAGS :

UTMOST IMPORTANCE ≈ Posts that I consider to have heightened relevance. I often struggle with what things i should or shouldn't tag with this, so please be aware of that if you see something that YOU don't consider should be tagged with it. i've seen ur recent posts and while i understand ur desire for heightened engagement like with 2021 genshinblr, i think u have to accept the fact that 2021 saw a lot of us in lockdown and that's why so many people were so free to create and engage with fandom content like fics. it's 2023 now and everyone has school/work and life in general to attend to — for ur own good, please consider focusing more on ur real life as well.

your posts about note count are also getting really repetitive. the more obsessed u are with getting notes, the less likely ppl are to interact bc they feel pressured into it. can u really call such engagement genuine? are popularity and numbers really ur main if not only motivator for writing?

while i can understand where you're coming from, and i apologise that my posts are getting repetitive, these kinds of interactions are the best way to spread the creations. yes, it's 2023, but there's still so many people on this site – sure! not as many as 2021 where interaction had peaked and i understand that, but still, a sizable community. i have my own life outside of this website as well, anon. :-)

if i were truly obsessed with my notes, i could just... create another sideblog and reblog my work a 100 times. the point of me emphasising the importance of reblogging is to be able to share the love you have for someone's work – because it really is visible in each reblog shared, with or without tags and comments. i have my own commitments in my own life as well and that's why it means so much for me to receive that bit of serotonin and support when people interact with it, when i'm able to write. sure, i may post something almost every day, but that's because writing is my reprieve. i've been writing for a while now, and while my blog has grown, the culture of interaction has also visibly shrunk. other people notice it. other people have spoken up about it.

i apologise if people feel guilt-tripped into interacting, because that's not my intention, and they should be making their own choice on whether or not they want to interact – but if you appreciated a creator's work, this is the reblog site. you can see so many creators fizzle out because of the lack of interactions and literally, a simple reblog will do. of course, many creators love writing and not all of us will care about the notes – but it's a nice thing for us to wake up to. seeing other people appreciate our work makes us want to create more. the more people interact with our work, the higher of a chance we have of getting a genuine, love-filled engagement. and that's just what most of us want. its not about the notes. it's about the actual interactions we get.

1️⃣ If you have a Gallifreyan dictionary, could I please see it?

GIL's dictionary is right now being developed along with a full grammar guide. It's available as a living document for anyone particularly interested in the conlang, as long as they don't mind a bit of a crushing mess while things slowly get organised. A better release is planned when it's a bit neater. Message me for links (and excuses).

2️⃣ What does "TOTW" mean in your language tags?

TOTW means 'Theme of the Week' and goes on all scheduled content on weekdays. I try to be consistent. You can see all this year's old and upcoming themes in the Masterpost.

3️⃣ What's the Gallifreyan word for healer/to heal/doctor?

Conlang answer.

Rikijai - someone who heals (a healer)

Jakri - to heal

Doctor - see below:

This has a few variations for hyper-specificity.

Rikijai = surgeon etc. (one who repairs the body)

Zykijai = psychiatrist etc. (one who repairs the machine (brain))

Rizykijai = doctor/all around healer (one who repairs the body and the machine (brain))

These are more general terms (like for jobs) - you can suffix these with gender particles (po, mo, zo) to specify a particular individual.

Rikijaipo = The Surgeon [male]

Zykijaimo = The Psychiatrist [female]

Rizykijaizo = The Doctor [gender neutral]

Or just add an Honorific to make it their title.

Poja-Rikijai = Honorable Surgeon man

Moja-Zykijai = Honorable Psychiatrist woman

Zoja-Rizykijai = Honorable Doctor [gender neutral]

Ja-Rizykijai = Honorable Doctor [no gender]
