Halcarol, My beloveds!!

I just finished reading the 18 "chapters" of Jeremy Adams' Green Lantern run (Volume #7) that are out so far, and all I can say is: HALCAROL, MY OTP!!

They're so cute together, I swear. I’ve completely fallen in love with them as a couple (which is unusual because I’m a hardcore Green Lantern fan, and they used to be irrelevant to me as a pairing).

Jeremy Adams, the writer that you are, you have some pretty big flaws in your characterization of certain characters, but I’ll let it slide because you’ve just opened my eyes to a new OTP.

Damn it, I’ve never grown attached to a comic book couple so quickly or so strongly in all my years of reading comics.

But seriously, I love them so much. They are soulmates, the love of each other’s lives. I truly hope with all my heart that they get to be happy together. DC, please, I’m begging you—let them stay together 🥺🥺🥺

P.S.: Issues #11, #12, #15, and #17 are definitely my favorites. Issue #11, "Vegas, Baby, Vegas", had those cute HalCarol panels when they were teenagers. Issue #12, "Discovery", was Carol saving her beloved 😍😍. And issue #15, where she admitted that she loved Hal, that she would always love him, and that he would be her only choice for life, was so agh, so beautiful 😍💓.

P.S.2: Issue #17 was just me being happy to see my Lanterns being so close and caring for each other.

(billford always happens and they always break up. ford was obsessed when bill was his muse, then bill is obsessed after they’re no longer together and he realizes what he lost) (this dynamic is just canon, really)

(fiddauthor is always present at some point but in one route they end up together after canon events, and in another route fidd moves on) (it’s possible that they had a thing in college but consider it “typical college experimentation” because it’s the 70s and denial is strong. they still go through canon events)

(fiddlestan only happens during the fiddlestan route. otherwise canon events stay the same and they barely actually interact with each other. in the fiddlestan route they work together in the 80s and grow old together)

(billstan isn’t really romantic but it is a one-sided obsession. bill just can’t stop obsessing over the stans… for very different reasons…) (dare i say an unrequited kismesis dynamic?)

(ford and stan are brothers. that’s it. leave them out of the shipping dynamics.)

(fiddlebill isn’t really included here but i feel like the only way this would happen is if bill was possessing ford and wanted to fuck with fidd by using his crush on ford against him) (this one’s basically only possible if it’s fiddauthor-adjacent)

Apparently the Imp and Skizz podcast with Iskall85 has also gone down. I can't believe any of the Hermits would take this path without good reason. I am devastated. I personally have to have faith in the community I love or I'm going to lose my threads of sanity I have left.
