our dog oscar had a minor surgery this morning , luckily now he is home safe and well, if very sleepy. he has to wear the Cone of Shame But Soft tm and can’t walk around much but he’s been napping since i got home anyways <3

hey! if you like change fate by being aggressively kind by sircantus, you may also enjoy the book the house in the cerulean sea by tj klune! it's not an identical concept, but it's pretty similar in its idea of these kids with powers who are 'expected' to destroy the world, who are kept away from everyone for the 'safety' of the general population. and you get to meet these kids as the protagonist does, and they are just the most adorable sweet (and somewhat chaotic?) children ever, and it is all just So endearing. it's fantastically written, with language that feels simple yet precise, and just genuinely. so enjoyable, so heartfelt, and it made me cry at five separate points. (also, while the focus is on the kids, there's also Gay People within the adults, which is just very sweet and lovely to have). the protagonist has such a wonderful learning arc, and pushes for such important change, and it is just so so lovely. (and if you haven't read change fate, what are you doing!!!! go read it!!! it's absolutely fantastic!!!!) both of these are genuinely just enjoyable, and of course they have enough troubles to keep the plot going, but they are far from being overly angsty, which is the main draw for me personally.

i just spent 30 mins trying to edit it together and tumblr freaked on me and i lost it all :') so im just gonna summarise. im sorry i hope itll be like understandable

so seth does the acid prank and ty flips their shit. they knock seth out and chain him up in the basement, and seth wakes up all woozy, tugs on the chain like ?? u didnt take kindly to the prank huh-

and bc it was a phobia that seth exploited, ty decides to exploit seth's phobias as well. shocks him. absolutely speedruns breaking seth. seth is a crying sobbing mess . apologises over and over and swears up and down he'll be Good. he'll be good he'll take anything else just please not the shock collar.

ty obliges, exploits their phobia of drowning. seth thanks them for doing that instead of the shocks again.

ty brutalises him for days on end and then when hes finally calmed down he tells seth its okay now. hes forgiven. and by that point seth is just... so broken down. clings to ty like a little child. just 'pleas eplease please im so sorry please do u rly forgive me please please lets just go upstairs let me upstairs please i want nothing else but to curl up in bed w u. please. i'll be good. I'll be so good."

things almost go back to normal. seth can work again, leave the house, but hes rly not allowed any control. he can only rly do what ty allows bc "look what happened the last time u had any power :( surely u dont wanna mess it up again :("

seth was just soooooooo so so so desperate to be loved by ty again. theyre rly in love okay. so in love. it breaks them to see ty be so cruel and cold to him bc of a stupid prank he decided to pull. hes SO mad at himself over it. but yeah...
