Eyo lads person who keeps watching totk video essays and then dipping out whenever they talk about the final cutscene in a vain attempt to keep myself spoiler free while actively seeking out spoilers here, this is your warning I'm talking about major totk spoilers from a vague but as specific as i can get standpoint

Anyway I was watching a video essay a few hours ago that talked about how it felt really cheap that becoming a dragon and then not???becoming a dragon apparently that happens?? Was a cope out, when the memories [one I literally just got in game] was Zelda saying she'll be "forever changed" and that "to become a dragon is to lose oneself" but like. Offering here that isn't literally about becoming a dragon hear me out.

We all know that memory loss and regaining memory has been a BIG theme of totk and botw, and a large majority of the community loves to play around with the fact that Link was changed by becoming an amnesiac, because like. Actual legitimate amnesiacs exist and are usually incredibly different people from who they were before and I've read at least like 7 books discussing that it's not moral to treat an amnesiac as if they still have their memories

And Zelda. Like her memories are tears that link collects, her memories are very physical. What if she lost herself because she lost her memories after becoming a dragon, what if she said she'll be forever changed because she saw just how much it pernamently changed Link i may be trying to avoid spoilers but god dammit is it like something in the end cutscenes that pernamently disproves this theory or have i just been watching every video essay ever that doesnt care about the memory theme

I love RadioStatic /Onewaybroadcast , because in my head it was a miserable and betrayal filled break off of a mutually beneficial media monopoly of two close friends (as close as Alastor could get to being friends with a man) all because of the greed of one side. Their current mutual hatred being fueled by one sided betrayal and a wounded ego on the other.
