EMERGENCY CAT SURGERY | Pickle needs HELP!

I never thought it would be my turn to make one of these posts.

TW; CAT INJURY

Sunday night, my 6 month old kitten, pickle, had a really bad fall down a hardwood staircase after getting startled, and upon impact with the first floor, his little femur took the entire force of the impact and it snapped clean in half. My heart dropped to my stomach when I heard him thump hard against the ground and he began to cry, we immediately dropped everything and rushed him to the emergency vet nearby.

Turns out, the injury was worst than we thought. He needs orthopedic surgery to fit his femur with a metal plate. This will help him recover faster with the best successful outcome for his quality of life, but this is going to cost a staggering $4,000 dollars. He hasn't even celebrated his 1st birthday yet, he's still just a baby and this terrible accident happened. Pickle is truly my best friend, he has been my little beacon of light through it all, he is the one who sits with me while I write long chapters for my novels, and I will do absolutely anything for him.

My heart is fucking shattered seeing my normally happy and high-energy baby have such a traumatic injury like this. I know this is hard on his mental health, too. Please, if you can, help us help pickle. If anyone is willing to donate to our GoFundMe to help us alleviate the burden of surgery costs while I'm literally still desperately job hunting, it would help me and my partner more than you can imagine. hellooo, I hope you're feeling well! I was wondering however if ouroboros was still being worked on or if it's on hiatus. Hope I wasn't rude in asking

I don't feel it's rude, after all, I have been keeping the development close to my chest. It is still being worked on, edited and transferred into renpy with graphics and soundbytes galore! However, right now, since about three weeks back, I left my partner of 8 years in the middle of the night with just a change of clothes, my dog, and a laptop. I'm struggling hard but putting on a brave face-- right now I'm coming up with a concept of something else to work on until I get a proper apartment and can get my stationary PC back so I can get back to work on ouro. I'll make a proper post about it tomorrow, so keep an eye on this space!

This is a bit of a long shot since this blog doesn't have much reach, but does anybody have info on how the shinigami eyes extension works, how it's moderated, social media accounts of the devs/admins/moderators/etc, or any other potentially useful information about how things work and the people behind it?

I reblogged a post yesterday about how the extension has been falsely flagging people, with a reblog stating that the developer(s?) is allegedly a radical feminist, transandrophobic, intersexist, all that jazz. And while I've definitely seen evidence of how the extension has become basically useless at best (I did a bit of digging into the shinigami eyes tag and a lot of people are reporting the same things), but after a bit of time and discussing with others I realise that it's probably a good idea to double check those specific allegations regarding the developers and see if there's another explanation for why it's gotten so bad (ie a potential third party group spam-reporting people in order to make the tool useless).

I couldn't find anything other than what's mentioned in the guidelines on the shinigami eyes site and what devs have said in response to negative reviews, and while what I've seen certainly isn't great, I hesitate to make big accusatory statements without solid proof of malicious intent. Does anybody have any info that could help?

while im (takes a deep breath to hold back my rage) sympathetic to the fans of Those Wizard Books who're taking a death of the author approach so long as they're not supporting the series financially or actively promoting it and are sticking to fan communities, I really, *really* wish people would put away their merch. Because when I see someone in public with merch from it, I always have to wonder if I'm safe around them as a trans person, if my trans friends are safe. And that's a sucky feeling to have, especially when talking to people who otherwise seems perfectly fine and nice!!! A lot of HP fans are just, people!!! Who maybe don't know what the big deal is, or have chosen to deal with the problem by doubling down to spite the author!! But even when I know for a fact they're totally safe or even trans themselves, I don't want to be constantly reminded of the series whose author is an incredibly rich and powerful person whose whole agenda for the past several years has been to push back against the rights of people like me, and who people like my own god damn mother is more willing to listen to about trans people than her own nonbinary child.

I know it's irrational to feel surges of rage at the mere mention of a popular multimedia franchises, but while I know not every trans person is bothered by it, I also know that a lot of trans people and even allies *are* bothered by it. Just... begging for some understanding, and for people to just PLEASE dial back their fandom-ing in public spaces, especially mostly queer spaces. You don't know how much difference it might make in the comfort and feeling of safety for the trans people around you

Here's a Palestinian that needs your help. Fadel ( @fadel-aldani1 ) is a 23 year old, currently displaced in Gaza with his family. Before the genocide started, he was a student in Advanced Technology, but his studies have come to a stop because of the tragedy happening in Palestine. I'll be sharing in this post some photos Fadel sent me of what his life is like under the genocide

Because of the Israeli occupation's attack on his land, his house has been destroyed from the bombings. Fadel and his family were injured, and there were very few hospitals that could treat them, since most hospitals have also been reduced to rubble. Fadel is in need of surgery, and it cannot be performed in Gaza due to the lack of resources

Fadel lives in pain every day, with shrapnel inside his body. He urgently needs to be evacuated out of Gaza to receive proper treatment, and the cost of this is very high

On September 19th, he set up a gofundme to cover the costs, but his campaign has been going very slowly, so far raising only €775/€10,000. Please, if you are able to, donate to his campaign, and share it even if you can't donate. His time is running out and he urgently needs our help. We must do everything we can to help the people of Palestine

No news that you haven't seen already coming from the Gaza Strip. IOF committed another 6 massacres just today, prices are still going up, the aid is still (almost) not getting through the occupation blockage. The Zionist forces including US administration still continue to obscure the genocide with empty promises of peace at best and with promises of total annihilation of Gaza at worst.

Falastin's family were displaced more than 50 times just in the last year. They are still in Al-Mawasi for now, they still live in a tent that will not shelter them from winter cold, they still need funds to just survive. You can see what they are forced to live with in this post [here]. They survived previous winter, but since then they some possessions with each displacement and are now not sure if they can survive this one. Please prove them wrong; please help them to see the next spring.

Her 24 family members need money for:

food and water

medicine for infections and for Falastin's 73 y.o. mother

diapers and other baby products

tent materials and clothes for the winter

and of course for evacuation.

They do not ask for any luxury. They will not be able to afford anything else, but with the current rates of donations they are not sure if they can get even this. Again, please prove them wrong and boost this and donate if you can. There are both Gofundme and Paypal, additionally there is a raffle for hand-made Palestinian thobs [here] if you donate more than 50$ and I am drawing commissions for more than 10$ donated.

If you follow me, most of you know Ibrahim @wolf-aid ! He's amazing and had been through so much unimaginable pain this past year in gaza. Yet he remains persistent and so kind.

Recently, he made a post to help raise money for a hospice providing food to displaced Palestinians, and it's done very well! People have been sharing and donating gladly, which is incredible, and we thank you all for doing so from the bottom of our hearts. However, Ibrahim has been raising money for his own family independently of that campaign and donations have been rather slow lately!

Ibrahim is a little brother to me, i love him dearly and i can't stop thinking about how much he is going through this holiday season.
