Somebody to love by Jefferson Airplane would definitely be a perfect song for Will if he gets venca'd. It is also very byler coded.

This can be seen as a reference to the ONLY time Will lies to Mike in 04x08 in the van about the painting. Also could be about any of the lies that people told Will (or even possibly some secrets that might come to light in s5)

"All the joy within you dies"

Will literally has 20,000 reasons why he should be sad, the kid went through literal hell, I don't think there's much of an explanation needed.

"Don't you want somebody to love... You better find somebody to love"

When Will says "I'm not gonna fall in love..." (LIAR)

He's in love with Mike, obviously, and him needing to confess but instead lying to himself, El, and Mike is constantly eating away at him. Thus, "[if you don't] find somebody to love" Vecna will win.

"When the garden flowers... are dead... and your mind is full of red"

SEASON 4 LAST EPISODE WITH THE DEAD FLOWERS AT HAWKINS AND WILL TOUCHES HIS NECK BECAUSE THE MIND FLAYER/ VECNA IS BACK AT IT!!!!!!!

Honestly, the "mind full of red" is about Will being possessed/ being targeted (or even getting venca'd since the upside down turns red.) And who was there by his side every. single. minute. when he was possessed? MIKE. Mike being there for Will is what helped him go through all of this (and OBV Joyce and Jonathan, I'm not ignoring them.)

Love is what helps people survive venca.

"Your eyes may look like his"

When Will was possessed, his eyes stayed the same except of the colour. He stayed physically the same other than his eyes.

"But in your head... You don't know where it is... Don't you want somebody to love"

Will being possessed, loosing his mind and memories. He needed the people he loved to snap him back to reality with facts and good memories.

"Tears are running down... all running down your breast"

Will has always been "a sensitive kid" and was infamous for it. We still see it shine in s4, it's a part of himself that he can't get rid of but has to cope with. Male sensitivity was definitely looked down on in the 80s, especially in small conservative towns like Hawkins. Will would definitely see himself in these lyrics (it's also a perfect target point for venca.)

Running. My theory is that all "Vecna songs" are gonna have something to do with running one way or another (I need Mike's song to be small town boy SO bad.)

It's sad but true. Will was always different from all the other members of the party, especially in s3 (and s4 because he moved,) and has felt left out. Mike was the only one who got him, who didn't treat him like a freak or baby.

Mike and is the one Will needs to love (openly) to survive venca.

(Mike needs to show his love for Will to survive venca too and break the chains of internal homophobia caused by living in a small, conservative town... SMALL TOWN BOY)
