fun fact about my personal interpretation of the wayfarer and the witch, they funnily enough don't learn each other's names until well after they've already become good friends! So for a long time the wayfarer just calls the witch "Miss" or sometimes "Ma'am". And the witch, well, just calls the wayfarer...."wayfarer" like everyone else.

When they do learn each other's names though, they also learn that nobody else really knows either of their names as well (nobody thought to ask the wayfarer, and there's really nobody else in the witch's life to ask). So the two still continue to call each other by their little nicknames unless they know for sure they are alone.

Why? Because it's funny lol. And who doesn't like a good secret?

had an idea while i was in the shower —i need to make an au. Where mind is just pre-I Disagree Poppy. Like, Poppy.computer, Am I A Girl?, maybe not Bubblebath EP because poppy and That poppy are separate to me.

maybe it happens after the shot? She starts off cold and calculating, just as she does in every world, but the bullet hits her somewhere vital and she factory resets to this bubbly, ominously optimistic and smiley android. The type to stand over you as you sleep and watch you but smile politely and wave the moment the lights are on, yk?

heart and soul are probably CREEPED the fuck out by it. I think that’d be fun.

this also plays into my whole Sunshine Character Mind headcanon? Slightly? I meant that in a different way but it can work here.

Ok I have an idea/weirdly specific au that I don't know when/if I'll ever do something with, so I'm gonna throw it out into the void (tumblr dashboard) and see where it goes:

(Contingent on two major changes: Jack lives, and Mac and Riley were abducted more than once for nanobot testing and were returned home without their knowledge)

After escaping the bomb that nearly took his life, Jack Dalton went into hiding, pouring everything he has in to taking Kovac down once and for all. With no team, no backup, and no way to communicate with his family back home, it's much easier said than done. (maybe he knows he'd have been declared KIA, maybe he has no idea)

After months of working from the shadows, hopping place to place, he finally manages to uncover the truth about Anya Vitez, and the whole operation being a front. [With the phoenix being shut down post s3 and operating under new management in s4 I think it would make sense nobody back home would know about the kovac mission being over/declared a success. maybe a bit of a stretch? idk just bear with me here]

While he found enough evidence to bring down Vitez and end the mission, he ended up getting a little more than he bargained for. Whispers of a sketchy US government experiment have popped up, and while Jack's suspicious, he just wants to get home and see his kids again- he's been gone for far too long.

As he makes his way back home, each new piece of information he hears is more concerning than the last. His various sources all claim something sinister is going on, something to do with tracking technology?

One of Jack's old CIA buddies who owes him a favor lets Jack stay with him at a secure facility before he flies back to LA. Left alone with his thoughts and clearance to go and do as he pleases, Jack can't ignore the niggling feeling at the back of his mind. His feet move on their own accord, and he finds himself outside a dark computer lab, monitors glowing dimly in the darkness.

A grin slowly makes its way across his face. Maybe he could get in touch with the Phoenix, check in on everyone. He'd been months without contact, he couldn't wait to see everyone again- they had so much to catch up on.

His mood dampened a bit when thinking about how Riley and Mac must have been doing, they always ribbed him good-naturedly during their check in calls. "Don't forget to call us back, old man!" They'd laugh.

(They tried to call once per week, but being on an undercover operation like this where connections are spotty at best, and risk giving away your position? It unfortunately couldn't always be done, such is the nature of the job.) He imagined their worried faces at the unexplained lengthy lack of contact and winced. Hopefully it'll all be smoothed over when he got back; he'll make it up to them. After all, he'd promised pizza and skee-ball, didn't he?

He sat himself down at the keyboard, and got to work setting up a secure message to Matty. While he wasn't particularly tech savvy (that was much more Riley's speed) he'd been doing this long enough to know how to get an encrypted message back to the barn.

His code didn't go through.

He frowned, thinking back to the last time that happened. While that mission in Amsterdam had certainly been a disaster, he at least saw being disavowed as a possibility. This time? He couldn't think of a single reason. What....what happened while he was gone?

Before he could dwell on that for too long, he noticed some of the file names on the computer desktop. His mind snapped back to the rumors of dubious experiments he heard about, and couldn't help the shiver that ran down his back. Did the room get colder?

He hovered over the file.

He hesitated. Jack glanced up at the clock. There were two hours until his friend would come back and retrieve him for takeoff.

His gaze wandered back to the file. There was another one just below it.

He sighed, weighing his options. Snooping in a government database wasn't something to be taken lightly, but he knew in his gut something was wrong. If he was being honest, he'd made his choice the moment he laid eyes on it.

walking in to rephrase my thoughts from discord but i was just thinking about tiger getting checked up by his ripper n yknow one could consider tiger a 'borg in cyberpunks terms sure hes not super insane looking like smasher, he likes looking human and theres almost an art to having all these enhacements and reinforcements all neatly tucked away for no one to see yes you have the obvious visible cyberware on his face, his body, the tail but its nowhere near as extreme as you see elsewhere at times, hell, look at someone from maelstrom

all in all he looks.. tame, very stylized sure but you might not exactly expect this all going on in there

Ok so in my fic Slip I vaguely based Hydra off of a DOT-114 tanker because i could find the specification really easily they're sometimes used for pressurised gasses, but GOOD NEWS! I was wrong and also stupid :)

I've been recreationally overthinking this all day, for funsies. The interesting thing is, in Europe we don't really have H2 on the rails in that way yet- DB cargo is doing a lot of work there, but not in any formats that match up with the green bean. We know he doesn't carry ammonia or methanol because his fuel is usable without pre-processing, and we know he's not any sort of MEGC. The only other option in europe is cryocontainers of LH2, but they're intermodal- you can put one on a ship, unload it onto a lorry or a flatbed or whatever, and go about your merry way. so not that neither.

(sidebar: I know he is a creation of andrew lloyd webber's twisted mind and also a twink on rollerskates, but shh. im playing touys.)

The likelier option, imo, is that he's carrying cryogenic liquid hydrogen. This would track with some sliiightly older technologies (and i really do mean slightly) like liquid natural gas, which has already been used in duel-fuel locomotives. At time of writing, the only thing I could scrounge up that's actually authorised for cryogenic hydrogen transport on US rails are DOT-113 tanker cars, which are usually designed for other cryogenic liquids but. Uh. Im sure its fine. Nowt in the UK yet, we've got all of it on the roads at the minute. He's some kind of freaky half-to-spec pilot project to me anyways, I just need to ballpark.

According to the Railway Association of Canada's Railway Emergncy guide, DOT-113A60W tankers have a working temperature of -423F, which is the temperature hydrogen becomes liquid at.

So! That means we're working with DOT-113A60W!Hydra, or at least something similar! :D He's got a tank-within-a-tank system, weather-shielded loading/unloading valves, and DO NOT HUMP OR CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION stenciled somewhere easy to see. Thank you for coming to my ted talk!
