Ace of Hearts: Prinx Avemour Succulen

My first finished card design for my OC world card design project.

I am NOT extensively using card symbolism for this, save for Avemour being a heart card because it's for love, Azailenne being a spade card because it's more "military", Veroziel being a club card because it stands for youth, and Ertix/Quinceri being a diamond card because it stands for financial success / fame.

Avemour is the oldest child of the previous king of the Farlyxe empire, though an illegitimate child at best. Their exact lineage is not well known, but he has been accepted as part of the royal family nonetheless, although it would likely cause uproar should she actually have sought the throne... They seem uninterested, however, and prefer helping his brother King Azailenne manage the workload alongside the two's other siblings.

Avemour is known to be a tad naive and ditzy, it's a miracle that she has yet to be tainted by the cruelty of the world. Their siblings take great care to make sure it stays that way - her having a meltdown would be impossible to manage.

Unlike most Xanthryx false angels, Avemour lacks wings and does not appear to eat human meat. It's widely assumed that he is half human themselves, due to the cloudy nature of their lineage.

Luck of the Draw

In 2018, I was invited to contribute to a group illustration project entitled Luck Of The Draw, in which each participant created their own interpretation of a card from a traditional deck of playing cards.

The colour palette was limited to black, grey and dark blue, with a minimal amount of accent colour.

I was assigned the Ace Of Clubs.

As a long-time fan of tarot card iconography, I wanted to include imagery relating to my card's tarot equivalent: the Ace of Wands. This is traditionally represented as a hand emerging from a cloud, clutching a stout club or sprouting branch. In the background sits a mountain peak surmounted by a castle. (The blood-thirsty goblin character was my own invention.)

Upon completion, each participant received their own deck, featuring all 52 card designs.

ppl are always depicting cyno in fanon as a comic relief annoying idiot partner to tighnari that cannot read the room and is always making him angry and yeah he doesn't have the best social skills and doesn't understand other people that well, but he knows that. and he also knows tighnari well enough to know that if he truly was annoyed with his behavior to the point of getting angry, he would shut that shit down real quick. he's not the type of person to just sit there and take it if he's genuinely bothered, i think. cyno's just putting himself out there without letting himself be paralyzed by his own shortcomings or insecurities, and it's pretty clear tighnari doesn't want him to repress himself either.

if anything, i can see tighnari being the one with an annoying habit in private that he has 0 self awareness about because he's so used to being the one dealing with other people's bullshit that he may not realize when he's the culprit for once, and cyno is too much of an unbothered king to say anything about it, and too madly in love to stay annoyed for long lol

made it to 2024!!! out of the most recent roblox drawings, it's kohane again :DD

seems like i moved out of free draw and into spray paint (despite spray paint being so painfully painfully painfully laggy. and has no undo button. and has a max of 10 layers (which you have to pay for more). And a stupid popup to pay for a bigger brush ever time i try using the biggest sized brush. and also constantly crashing

why? uhh i saw these youtubers draw on spray paint and it looked kinda fun teehee

despite the flaws, i'm actually having a lot of fun drawing on spray paint!! :0 i keep coming back to play more even tho the game hates me :( idk I like the challenge of keeping it to 10 layers (still hate the lag tho i will simply explode)

min and derrick is a criminally underrated dynamic. barely knew each other in school. derrick clocks in at the dropping bags over people’s heads factory but clocks out as soon as the shooting starts. immediately identifies min as the person to turn to when he’s sick of ethan’s shit. min who has endured sixty days of sarah knocking at the door lets him in with almost no prompting. they instantly build up like ten years worth of trust in the span of eight hours. derrick is practically throwing himself in front of gunfire to protect her the same day they have their first real conversation. they are then allies and besties for life and min leaves derrick in charge of the future of humanity. it’s about the instantaneous connection

Kingdoms of Illucaea

This project is a playing card deck I've been working on. Each suit represents a different kingdom and each kingdom is based off one of the four elements. So the King, Queen, and Jack of each suit will all feature full character art, plus the two jokers (like the 'Rogue' Joker below)

And because I'm me, and I have zero chill, I've also been writing an epic tale where all the characters become involved in a quest to save their world.

So when I do eventually publish the deck in it's physical form, there will be a "deluxe" version available that comes with a little booklet containing that story.

being neurodivergent is all fun and games until you remember those hourly quote bots on twitter and think well maybe I can't make a bot anymore but I could schedule a few quotes a day, that shouldn't be hard. it sounds fun to have a bunch of quotes of my favorite character Thirteen from hit mobile game Obey Me! and its sequel Obey Me! Nightbringer. and then you think about how arduous collecting the quotes is going to be but she's only been in the games for maybe a year and a half with little screentime and you love collecting things so you start but then you remember that you love collecting things so naturally you have ALL of her screentime in the game and suddenly you have 45k characters of quotes and are several lessons into season 4 (which is truly a trial in and of itself) but not nearly close enough to the end but you refuse to just stop collecting the quotes and make the account with the EXCESS of what you have already because you literally only have season 4 to get through and if you don't do it just seeing the bot (because now you've been informed you can make tumblr bots instead) will haunt you with that knowledge even if nobody else would ever know. this is a general anecdote of a situation that could easily happen to anyone though and not in any way related to my life

Me: The Sword Suit terrifies me. Whenever a Sword card shows up in a reading I'm filled with dread. To me, Swords are MUCH more terrifying than The Tower, and definitely more terrifying than Death or The Devil. Like if a movie wants me to fear for the characters, they'll reveal a Sword card, not The Death card.

Also me: This character is This Sword card and this character is This Sword card. And this character fits this Sword card to a T! This character right here is the EPITAMY of This Sword card, I've never seen a character more THIS Sword card than this character in my life....

can confirm, war of the spark is absolute garbage. Worst part being that apparently it wasn't the author that retconned Chandra's sexuality, but WotC that told him to >:|. At the very least in the short stories they seem to have gone back to her being pan, but it's hard to tell if it's the main writers fighting against the company, or just plain old queerbaiting.

yeah it's hard to say what Really went on but. from what i can fathom reactionary panic was caused at wizards hq or wherever they talk about this stuff when a Predictable (to anyone who actually knows even vaguely what it's like to be a marginalised or queer person) backlash of straight dudes going "nuh uh, chandra Only wants to have sex with Me, a Cis Man" hit at roughly the same time as other people saying things like "hey. maybe it doesn't need to be a whole Thing that she also really thought Gideon was Hot while she professes her love for Nissa" and the... let's call it "pincer movement" of criticism caused them to hit the Eject button on the whole idea

i do believe they Intended it, though, not that it was queerbaiting... they wouldn't have published it in the first place otherwise. i think they just didn't anticipate... how many of their fans and readers will seethe in silence about queer male characters but draw a firm line in the sand at the idea of any woman they want to make kissy with having ever had a non-straight thought :/

it's a big old shame, i guess... luckily the book still sucks arse so nobody's missing out if they choose not to read it lmfao

i have a soft spot for... Many green planeswalkers, though. my green/blue babe Kiora, Arlinn... the big green v, Vivien... Saheeli........ Ral Zarek of course... there's probably a lot more if i'm being honest but those are probably my favourites.

i also Enjoy Rakdos and Ob-Nixilis as characters even though i wouldn't. personally want to be around them lmfao. the bit where Ob-Nixilis defeated Gideon's invulnerability by drowning him in a puddle was Amazing XD eat it gids

i also, possibly unsurprisingly, have a mild fondness for the Phyrexians 😔 i just enjoy transhumanism okay ajkdbhfasdfa

meechi. my favorite thing about Luck is that he really COULD pull bitches if he wanted to. If that was something he actively wanted to do? he absolutely could. outside of JUST his looks, he's naturally v charismatic and generally has a vibe most people find interesting. he doesn't really have a magnetism ; rather, it's more like a contemplative artist / noir detective vibe that people tend to gravitate towards him, even if they naturally dislike his personality at first. Luck absolutely has the ability to have more relationships than he currently does ; he just never cared for it and finds trying to prove such a thing juvenile at best. So, it just. Rarely happens.
