The Queen
Character design created for Cork City Libraries' 2021 Summer Reading Challenge for kids.
This righteous royal appeared as a side character in a story about the adventures of Children's Library mascot Red in a magical land called Toy Towne. At story's end, the Queen knighted our plucky hero as Sir Redginald before he made his way home to @corkcitylibraries.

Luck of the Draw
In 2018, I was invited to contribute to a group illustration project entitled Luck Of The Draw, in which each participant created their own interpretation of a card from a traditional deck of playing cards.
The colour palette was limited to black, grey and dark blue, with a minimal amount of accent colour.
I was assigned the Ace Of Clubs.
As a long-time fan of tarot card iconography, I wanted to include imagery relating to my card's tarot equivalent: the Ace of Wands. This is traditionally represented as a hand emerging from a cloud, clutching a stout club or sprouting branch. In the background sits a mountain peak surmounted by a castle. (The blood-thirsty goblin character was my own invention.)
Upon completion, each participant received their own deck, featuring all 52 card designs.

Doodle My Google
I created this poster in 2018 as part of the Doodle My Google -- a project in which illustrators respond to unusual Google search terms submitted by random internet users.
The prompt I received was:
Will Eircode Catch On?
Eircode is Ireland's post code system, which was introduced in July 2015. While there was some trepidation initially as to whether the system would prove viable, I can happily confirm that it has indeed caught on!

Read To Meet You
The story I wrote and illustrated for @corkcitylibraries' Summer Reading Challenge 2018.
It begins with a strange new arrival at Cork City Library, and follows Children's Library mascot Red and his friends on their quest to uncover the origins of this "most singular beast".

Avonmore Super Milk
Artwork created for Irish dairy company Avonmore, promoting their Super Milk product.
The campaign was aimed at Irish children, encouraging them to drink a large glass of Avonmore Super Milk each day, providing 100% of their recommended intake of Vitamin D.
This image was one of three I created for the campaign (check out part one and part two), each of which was printed in large-scale and used as interactive advertising at conventions and food fairs.
This particular board acted as a giant colouring book page, with markers available for children. It also contained information on the importance of Vitamin D, as well exercise and being active.
Art direction by Goosebump advertising agency.

This particular board was connected to a stationary bike which children could cycle to make the five black dots light up. They would learn about other foods -- and the quantity of Vitamin D associated with each -- as they progressed.
