Why are so many Black people crying "pandering" over other Black people in previously white roles. This isn't an example of forced representation, it's an example of opening up roles. If a character is not a part of a particular group or culture that relies in part on race, that character can be played by anyone. Ariel wasn't born to be in the klan - she is a mermaid, race here is irrelevant. Retina Wesley showing up in "Last of Us" shows great acting skills when she read for the role. Shitting on people's skill bc you're uncomfortable with a change is messed up.

Miss me with the "Let Malcolm X be played by a white guy" because you and your momma are morons for that. If a character has deep roots, culture and historical relevance that ties in with their race then someone of that race should play them. Same for differently able people - this is how representation works. Not assuming someone got a role to fill a quote. Stop swimming in your own thoughts and engage with the world.

If there's anything I've felt about ace attorney since playing through the original trilogy, it's how cheated I've felt about the fandom interpretation of it. Y'all were so caught up with your gay boys and your Miles Edgeworths I didn't realize how much of this game was about WOMEN. THE CORE OF ACE ATTORNEY IS IN ITS FEMALE CHARACTERS. From Mia jumpstarting Phoenix and guiding him throughout the whole trilogy even after her death, her presence being the primary connecter of Phoenix and Maya, Maya and Godot, heck even Dahlia and Iris and the whole lot of them. From Franziska's earnest faith and consolation of Miles Edgeworth, even begrudgingly, pulling him out the trauma of his childhood with the face to face confrontation of a bullet wound in the same spot as the man who killed his father. Lana and Ema dragging Phoenix back into the thing he does best. Lana and Ema who's tragic story lies in a pair of sisters ruined by the heinous law system and their unconditional love for each other. Dahlia and Iris with a different version of sisterly tragedy, struggling through generational trauma in separate settings and support systems. The matter of the Fey tradition looming over the entire narrative and all the legal and social terror that comes with it. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE ACE ATTORNEY WOMEN.

losing "the sight of that man" line was a tragic loss for the narumitsuers but off the top of my head the most visceral line losses I felt were "you literally jumped into my life" and "you should be grateful! I gave you the chance to play the ace attorney!" because the official translations were kinda giving me nothing. the monologue around "sight of that man" is still very impactful when referring only to gregory, but the other two did not hit nearly as hard and were some of my favorite lines in the fan translation.

phoenix is never just some guy, not to mention he shouldve died like 5 times now but he kept on surviving somehow. but really when i think about it. apollo and athena both have special abilities that theyre born with. but phoenix was never really special. he was just an art student. he has the ability of knowing when someone lies to him because he has a magatama - but that he got from maya. he would've kept on being a normal art student, but edgeworth motivated him to go into laws. he grew into a competent attorney by mia's guidance. he never loses to anyone in poker because he has trucy's help. he is neither a magic child or an empath, he was born just some guy. he only became special because of the people around him.

-> Kazuma technically has been my favorite from the beginning but there's a special place in my heart for both Iris and Susato .. what can I say I just end up really liking all the Weird Girls in each game (Trucy, Rayfa, Maya, etc.)

-> also really got into Ryuu for some reason he is still high up there on my faves .. I could not tell you what it is abt him lol

-> Sholmes is actually incredibly good too ..

and like I don't want to just mention everyone in the main character roster lol so I think I'd say my top three are : Kazuma, Ryuu/Iris are tied, and Susato
