I still love the fact that in early S3, Daisy is constantly correcting the team (well, mainly just Coulson 💀) when they call her Skye.
But the minute Jemma does it and apologises for it, Daisy tells her that she can “call her whatever she wants” I JUST-
THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO ME

My headcanon for Skimmons, especially s06 Skimmons, is that they sort of always had queer platonic feelings for each other, Daisy's leaning more and more on romantic, until she eventually admitted to herself that she was in love with Jemma, when they had to live together for a year in space. However, she understood that Jemma's true love lied with Fitz. So she just made the most of the time they had together, but never actually confessed. This would explain the way she looks at Jemma, when Simmons tells Daisy she's had bad luck in the love department during Fear and Loathing in the Planet of Kitson, the whole "connection to you" thing – which has, in fact, been taken as a romantic/even sexual avance by the alien sitting in Jemma's place –, the fact that she replies only with "I love you too" to "You're my best friend". Not to mention, the way she stammers, a few episodes later: "No Simmons, I... I can't leave you" – as if she was pondering the possibility of saying something else, but eventually opted for the easier option.

Ranking AoS ships (canon & non-canon) bc I can:
FitzSimmons. If you don't have this as your top, I DON'T TRUST YOU. They are the blueprint, the very epitome of romance. If someone doesn't dive through a space rock to reach me on another planet, I don't want them
Dousy. Ik some people much prefer Sousa and Peggy, and they have a great relationship, but I don't know, I just like Dousy more. Maybe bc I want Daisy to be in a healthy relationship for once? But for only appearing in around half the episodes of s7, they don't feel rushed, and Chloe and Enver have great chemistry. They're so sweet together, I can't say much else other than I love them
Skimmons. Okay okay ik what a lot of people are gonna say, but I just think they're wonderful together. I've drifted a bit from shipping this, I do see the sisters aspect of them (I don't see them as sisters and romantically at the same time, that is WEIRD), but I still have a small soft spot for it. I think it's mostly Chloe and Elizabeth's love for the ship that sells it
Philinda. Tbh this and Skimmons could be switched, they're very close in my brain. While I don't necessarily feel too bad about them splitting up in s7, I like both the platonic and romantic versions of them, I think they were really great. They so obviously love each other, and what more can I say to that?
Huntingbird. 100% compatible 50% of the time, as Hunter puts it. I don't believe this to be the healthiest of AoS relationships, but not everything has to be perfect all the time. One moment they could be making jabs at one another, the next they're making out. Who knows? Their moments are a fun time either way
MackElena. I think what this ship needs is more time. Compared to the other relationships, MackElena doesn't get to share the screen all that much. I do love how they learn from one another, and they've always given me a kind of comforting type of vibe. They're just cute together
Simmorse. This feels like a relatively newer ship in the fandom, and I am all for it. I don't ship it massively, but I 100% see the potential, I think it's very easy to see that Jemma was crushing on Bobbi a couple times
QuakeRider. Just like Simmorse, I do see it, but I've never really been a big fan of it. Not that there's anything wrong with it, it has great vibes, I love the rogue x rogue type ship, I just don't ship it that much. I personally see them closer to older brother, younger sister type of dynamic. But I do see the potential
Staticquake. HEAR ME OUT OKAY? I used to like Staticquake a lot, but on my rewatches I see myself getting farther and farther away from it. It's not that they don't have good chemistry or that I don't think they're really in love, oh no, they have all of it, it's just not the best relationship for Daisy. There are more than a few moments where they're arguing, majority of the time Lincoln being in the wrong, and later Daisy apologizing for it? It always struck me as odd. I also feel like resolved too many issues behind the scenes, relying on exposition to make the audience believe they had gone further in their relationship
DekeDaisy. Idk if they have an actual ship name, so I'm going with this one for now. It's just wayyy too one-sided and doesn't seem like it would work anyway. Daisy was not in the right frame of mind for a relationship, and she seemed relatively blind to Deke's advances. Also considering that Deke sold her to the Kree earlier... yeah, it was never gonna work
Skyeward. It might get up one spot for the Framework version of them, but as it stands, the real life version of them is AWFUL. Ward lied to Skye on almost everything, hurt her, hurt her loved ones, kidnapped her, became obsessed with her, and countless other things I can't remember rn. They're so toxic and if you ship them (not Framework or pre-betrayal), I have genuine concern in your love life

Top five characters and top five fanfic tropes?
Ohh why must I choose!
Top five characters, in no order:
Castiel
Theodore (House in the Cerulean Sea)
Simmons (AoS)
Fanfiction Euphemia Potter
Shuri
Top five fanfic tropes, also in no order:
A and B are genuinely platonic soulmates who everyone goes thinks they are dating for at least a bit (until A punches them and corrects them), and A is an aunt/uncle/auncle to B's kids, and B's partner knows that A and B's relationship is completely platonic (see: Nat and Clint, Daisy and Fitz, Daisy and Simmons [but Skimmons <3], Cas and Sam, Harry and Hermione)
A confesses love to B while A is dying
Idiots to lovers (see: Stucky, Deamus, Fitzsimmons, Destiel)
Hurt the baby of the group and have everyone else suffer
"I choose to love you"
This was a lot of fun and I actually had to think about it! Thank you so much for the ask Anon!! I love asks so much, they really make my day, feel free to send them <3

Hi, um, I don’t know if you’re taking prompts, but I just really want to see a Daisy and Jemma friendship scene post the last episode, if you ever have the chance! Sorry to bother you!
Hi! I am taking prompts to a certain extent, mainly based on or around the current canon, and any others will be gotten to when I have the time - and don’t worry, you’re not bothering me!
Now, this is really just how I pictured a scene between Jemma and Daisy might’ve gone around the end of 5x14; it’s not a fix and it’s not super hopeful, but the emotions are still very raw and everything is still fresh, and to me that felt true to the characters and the episode. With that, though, I hope that this is at least somewhat what you were looking for!
Note: References to Daisy’s trauma in 5x14
(Ao3)
-
Though Jemma was still positively reeling from Deke’srevelation, not mention that she was still more than rattled by the previousevents of the day, but despite the fact that her world felt as though it hadbeen turned upside down (again), sheknew that she had work to do. So, she wiped the lingering tears from hercheeks, took a deep, settling breath, and fought back the surge of emotionsinside of her begging to be freed once more.
This was going to be hard enough as it was; she didn’t needto be breaking down in tears or worse, vomitingagain at the most inopportune time.
Plastering on the faux-cheery smile that often seemed to gohand-in-hand with her bedside manner, Jemma pushed open the door to the room inthe medical wing, calling softly, “Knock knock.”
Lying in the bed, her back facing the doorway, Daisy inhaleda deep breath, letting it out slowly. She gave no other response to Jemma’spresence, and Jemma had to consciously unclench her trembling fingers fromaround the edges of her tablet, her heart tugging painfully in her chest.
“How –” Wincing, she cut off her question, briefly squeezingher eyes closed. The very last thing that she needed to be asking Daisy was abouthow she was feeling, that was for sure.
“When can I get out of here?” Daisy finally spoke up, hervoice coming out low and hoarse, perhaps from the sharp sobs that hadaccompanied her near-constant tears, perhaps from a throat torn raw byscreaming in agony, in fear.
Tipping her head back and blinking to hastily dispel thetears already gathering in her eyes, Jemma cleared her throat lightly andforced a casual, pleasant tone as she replied, “Just as soon as we know that therewere no after-effects, I promise.”
Even though Daisy’s only reply was a short scoff, Jemmacould tell what she had to be thinking as clearly as if she’d spoken the wordsaloud: if it wasn’t for her husband, she wouldn’t even be there in the first place, she wouldn’t have to worry about after-effects.
Taking a shaky breath, Jemma allowed herself another briefmoment to resettle her tumultuous emotions before crossing the room and aroundthe end of the bed to check the monitors that Daisy was hooked up to. It tookher far longer to read the numbers displayed on the screen than it normallywould have, her eyesight blurred slightly by the tears that refused to be heldback.
Sniffling what she hoped was at least somewhat discreetly,Jemma quickly jotted the numbers down on her tablet, then finally turned toface Daisy herself. Her gaze was directed straight ahead, at the blank wallacross from her, but faraway, as though she was anywhere else but there. Therewere dark smudges of makeup here and there on her cheeks and chin, left thereby tracks of tears, and Jemma almost made a teasing remark about how shethought Daisy always wore waterproofmakeup –
“That way, even if youstart crying – you know, if you see a sick puppy or you’re on your period orsomething – you’ll still look totally amazing,” she’d said once to Jemma, back in the early days on the Bus, when Daisy had been Skye and the only reasonshe could have imagined that they would be crying was because of an injuredanimal or an overflow of hormones.
However, she bit her tongue at the last moment, as makingsuch a comment now would be in rather poor taste. And, somehow, she only feltworse as she brushed the fond memory aside – though, she hadn’t thought such athing possible.
Pressing her lips tightly together, Jemma quickly raised hergaze away from the broken expression of her friend, instead focusing on thebandage on her neck. She set aside her tablet, tugging on a pair of sterilegloves and lifting a hand to check on Daisy’s wound.
“Your hand’s shaking.”
Nearly jumping out of her skin at the sudden break in theheavy silence of the room, Jemma automatically dropped her gaze and was startledto find Daisy now looking back up at her. For a long moment, she simply stareddown at her in something no doubt comparable to a deer in the headlights.
After a tense moment, though, she broke their gaze to glanceat her hand. It was, in fact, trembling quite terribly where it was hoveringabove Daisy’s neck.
Sucking in a breath and drawing her hand back to clasp them bothtogether, in hopes of calming herself down, she murmured, “I’m sorry. I just…giveme a moment.” She took a step back, coming to rest up against the wall behindher and closing her eyes for a beat, trying her best to regain control overherself, if only for long enough to finish examining Daisy before she brokedown.
After all, Daisy had been the one to suffer the most, and shewas the one who had been harmed at the hands of a beloved friend; the very lastthing that she needed to deal with now was Jemma’s emotions about the wholething.
But, despite her best efforts, she could feel the tearsburning at the backs of her eyes, could feel a sob building in her throat, andshe pressed the back of her gloved hand to her mouth, trying to keep it all in asshe whispered another, more desperate, “I’m sorry,” before fleeing the room.
Or, well, she attemptedto.
Something was hindering her, stopping her from making herharried retreat to the nearest empty room to break down in. Glancing back, shewas surprised to find that Daisy was now half-sitting up, her fingers claspedaround Jemma’s wrist, her eyes wet with threatening tears of her own.
There was a desperate pleading in her widened eyes, arighteous anger in the tense set of her jaw, and an overwhelming horror in thetrembling of her bottom lip. And, though she didn’t speak the words aloud,Jemma knew instinctively what she needed – the one thing that she could offerher, which didn’t feel like nearly enough, but it was all she had.
So, wordlessly, she retraced her steps until she’d closedthe space between them, bending at the waist to throw her arms around Daisy, who returned the hug with a ferocity that caught Jemma momentarily off-guard.Almost immediately, she could feel the wetness of Daisy’s tears soaking theshoulder of her shirt, could feel her shaking in her embrace, and Jemmasqueezed her eyes shut, her own tears slipping past her defenses and rollingdown her cheeks once more.
She wanted to apologize to Daisy over and over again for thetrauma that she’d suffered at the hands of the man that she loved, she wantedto try and say something that mightreassure her in some small way that the horrible things she feared that shewould do wouldn’t come to pass, and above all, she wanted to promise her thatthis would be the last time that the world sought to break her and tear herapart at her seams.
But, none of the words that she could speak would changewhat had happened that day – nothing could, as difficult and heartbreaking asthat was to come to terms with, as much as it left the terrible taste of griefand guilt on her tongue. There wasn’t a way to fix this situation; there wasn’ta way to fix Daisy, to fix Fitz, to fix their shattered friendship, and thatwas perhaps the hardest part for her to truly accept.
There was still one thing that she could do, though, so Jemma shifted untilshe was sitting on the edge of the bed beside Daisy, tightening her arms aroundher, and simply held her as she fell apart in her arms, doing her very best totry and hold her together as much as she possibly could.

“Can I lay my head in your lap?” - platonic skimmons?
“Ugh, I have a headache,” Skye groaned, rubbing her temples. She looked over at Simmons who was curled up on the couch with a book and a cup of tea. “Can I lay my head in your lap?”
“Of course,” Simmons said, placing her mug on the side table and shifting so that her feet rested against the floor.
Skye lay down on the couch and put her head in Simmons’ lap. “Thank you.”
“Do you want me to get Fitz to bring you something for pain relief?” Simmons asked.
“No,” Skye said, closing her eyes. “I just need to rest. I think the headache’s from looking at the computer screen too long.”
“All right, I won’t bother you,” Simmons told her, going back to reading her book.
Send me a prompt and a pairing!

and/or
"How did you just do that??"
"Hey, I know things have been kind of hard lately, so I just wanted to check in. You doing okay?" Simmons knocks on the door, peering in at her friend.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Daisy mumbles. Simmons frowns and shuts the door behind her. She squishes herself next to Daisy and interlaces their fingers.
"Whatever it is, I'm here. You can talk to me." Daisy offers Simmons a small smile and lays her head on Simmons's shoulder.

Later, she actually does.
“So that’s all of it?” she asks. Her voice is steady at least. But it’s thin and small, like the rest of her. Daisy wonders if it got much use over the past few months or if Simmons—bright, talkative, always has something to say Simmons—slowly learned to keep quiet because it’s not like anyone was listening.
“All that we recovered,” Bobbi says in that same gentle tone Daisy heard her use last month when they brought in a thirteen year old Inhuman. “You know you don’t have to be here-”
“Yes,” Simmons says, sharp and firm, tearing her gaze away from the box holding her worst nightmare to look Bobbi in the eye, “I do.”

Soulmates aren’t romantic. They never were, and they were never supposed to be - whoever designs these things figured that each person should find their lover (or lovers) for themselves. Romantic love is something that varies so hugely between different people, and the whole point of it is to fall naturally in love, isn’t it?
But for all its beauty and joy, love can also go horribly wrong sometimes. Still, these are things each person has to find out for themselves, by themselves, without any cosmic guidance.
But people shouldn’t be forced to go through all the struggles, trials and tribulations of life and love entirely alone, right?
So what the universe decided to do was to grant each person someone else who they’d meet at some point in their life, and who’d be there to hug them through the toughest of the tough, and laugh through the brightest joy with them. Someone who’d be more than just a best friend - someone who would be a sibling, with an unconditional and eternal supportive love, bonded to their very soul.
Everyone would carry their soul-sibling with them at all times, in the form of a small tattoo on the inside of their wrists.
Skye’s soulmark is a cup of tea, of all things, with a curl of smoke hovering over it.
The curl of smoke, she’s always thought, looks a little bit like a heart. Or a smile.
Either way, it’s warm and comforting, and she can’t wait to meet the person it represents.
As time passes, though - tough, cruel times, times where she longed for someone to hold her and tell her it was going to be okay, times where she wished she knew anyone cared - she starts to resent her soulmark.
She starts to wonder if it even works, at all - because isn’t her soulmate supposed to be there to support her through her struggles?
Well, she’s struggling - many nights, she’s so cold that she has to fold herself double and tuck her toes under her, her crappy van’s equally crappy heating on full blast just so she doesn’t freeze. And though she smiles and agrees with the Rising Tide’s grand ideals of freedom, her heart is just as aching and lonely as she was as an orphan with more or less the same chill seeping into her bones.
Why isn’t her soulmate here? She wonders bitterly as she hacks her way through firewall after firewall, chasing something she’s never had but so desperately longs for.
She hates herself for it, but she starts to resent her soulmate, resents the way she keeps hoping she’ll meet them, that her life will make sense, and that she’ll finally have someone who’ll just be there.
Then, completely out of the blue, she does meet her soulmate.
Her name is Jemma Simmons, and she has the brightest, warmest smile that Skye has ever seen. She is welcoming and instantly compassionate when she greets Skye and helps her settle in on their Bus, and something deep inside her just thinks, yes. This is someone I can stay for.
But she isn’t quite ready to let herself believe it yet - what if she’s wrong? How much will that hurt?
So she stays with SHIELD, plays their game, and betrays them when she needs to - but despite herself, they (Jemma especially) have slipped in under her cracks.
The first time Skye’s resolve to deny it to herself begins to weaken is when Jemma forgives her almost immediately for her little dalliance with Miles. They have their Hub adventure next, and while Skye dies inside over just how terrible Simmons is at lying, there’s also something something also settles, comfortable and sure, in her heart.
She knows it for a fact when, after the boys are back and settled in, Jemma comes to knock on the door of her bunk - and she is holding a cup of tea.
It is, shape for shape, curl of steam for curl of steam, exactly the cup that Skye’s spent so long looking at on her wrist.
And when she takes it from Jemma, she cannot help beaming.
She doesn’t tell Jemma immediately - no, they chat and laugh over you certainly have a gorgeous... head, and tease the boys. They even watch a chick-flick once they’re sure May won’t pop in to scold them.
And it’s... everything, really. It’s everything she always wanted - and the longer she stays in Jemma’s presence, the more her resentment fades away, until it’s completely gone somewhere between their third late-night bout of hysterical laughter.
It’s impossible to resent Jemma, and impossible not to melt into the warm feeling of comfort and safety she brings with her.
It is, Skye thinks with a touch of amusement, exactly like the cups of tea Jemma has successfully gotten her to like - sweet, comforting, and with this indefinable sensation of home, warmth and love and home, the more you drank. Or, you know, talked, to finish the analogy.
She’s never been entirely sure what her corresponding mark on Jemma’s arm is - it’s only much later when she finds that one out, in one of the many nights she spent sleeping on the bunk above Jemma’s after her return from Maveth.
It’s a daisy - a daisy in the epicentre of a miniature earthquake, complete with cracked earth zigzagging in all directions about it.
Daisy’s first reaction is to apologise for it - but Jemma stops her with a smile that for the first time in days actually reaches her eyes. She explains what the mark represents to her: no matter how bad things get around you, you can still stand tall and get through it.
That’s what the mark has always represented to her, Jemma confides - from when she was six years old and recovering painstakingly from scoliosis, it has inspired her that she can get through it, whatever “it” is.
It’s one of the main things that kept her going on Maveth, she confesses.
Daisy doesn’t think she’s ever been more touched in her life, and once she’s holding Jemma in a very tight hue makes sure to tell her about how her warmth and caring is all Daisy’s ever wanted, and how she used to comfort herself with the knowledge that she’d find that someday.
And she thinks - that’s exactly what their bond is, what they keep representing to each other.
When she breaks and runs from SHIELD after Lincoln’s death, it’s Jemma’s warmth that first pulls her back. And when Jemma breaks two years later after Fitz’s death, it’s Daisy who helps her stand up and gather herself enough to search across the entire galaxy for him.
They will keep representing this for each other, too, she knows, no matter what happens - because they’re best friends. Soulmates. Sisters.
