Friendly Competition
Commander Cody & Padawan!Reader
Fictober 2023 Day 28 of 31
Words: 833
Summary: You challenge Cody to a competition: who can kill the most clankers in this battle. Usually he isn't one for games, but this time he agrees.
Note: this could be seen as a sister fic to my other platonic commander cody & obi-wan's padawan!reader fic, operation: rest and relaxation, but it can absolutely be read on its own. this is definitely one of my favorite fictober fics :)
Clone Troopers Masterlist
Tumblr media
The transport ship was about to start its descent when you turned to Cody. “I bet I can kill more clankers than you.”
Your fellow commander hadn’t yet put his helmet on, and he turned towards you with his eyebrows raised. “I don’t think so, kid.”
“Well, do you want to make it a bet?”
He paused for a moment, clearly think about the pros and cons of accepting your challenge. “I don’t need to prove anything to you,” he said, putting his helmet on and grabbing the blaster from his belt holster.
But of course, you weren’t going to let things go that easily. “That’s fine commander,” you said. “I won’t tell my master that you’re scared.”
Silence. Now that he had his helmet on you couldn’t read his facial expression, but you knew that your joking threat might actually get him to engage. “Alright,” he said, a slightly gruff tone that you knew was all osik. “You’ve got yourself a challenger.”
“Great!” you said, and you felt the gunship touch down on the surface of the planet. “Keep count of your kills, and this will end when we get back on the transport.”
“Deal.”
The doors opened, and you ran with your troops into the heat of battle.
Obi-Wan was pushing from the other side of this forest, and the hope was that when all the droids were defeated you would meet him in the middle of the battlefield. You had already learned so much from him, and formed positive friendships with the all of the 212th, Cody in particular. It felt like you had suddenly inherited hundreds of older brothers, and the commander was the wisest of them all.
War was difficult, and you knew that even before you had left the Jedi Temple. This particular game began as something stupid that Waxer and Boil heard about from Rex and the 501st, how many droids did everyone kill during battles and skirmishes, but you had never successfully gotten the commander involved. Part of you wondered if he knew something about the difficulty of this battle that he refused to tell you, and that was why he agreed to indulge your sense of whimsy this time, but there was nothing you could do about that now.
Cody was the marshal commander of the GAR, the highest-ranking clone in the entire army, and he was terrifyingly effective in battle. On multiple occasions you had watched him toss his blaster aside and sprint directly at his adversaries, and you had heard rumors that he had even tackled General Grievous once.
Even though you were a Jedi, this was going to be one hell of a close competition.
You twirled your lightsaber through a unyielding sea of droids, mentally keeping count of every single one that you sent careening to the ground, with its head or limbs falling separate from its body. You pulled the blaster from your hip and wielded it along with your saber, a concentrated expression on your face as you focused only on the task at hand. Using a blaster was very different than the traditional Jedi weapons, but you had adapted to it pretty easily, much to the disgust of some higher-up Jedi Masters. However, it had made you more successful in battle, and so it was allowed by the council.
You knew that if this war ended you would have some heavy realities to face, but right now the main goal was to stay alive, and that’s what you did.
When the last of the droids had finally fell, your count was up to seventy-six, and you thought that was pretty good for the amount of adversaries that you had just faced. You met up with Obi-Wan and the other half of the battalion and were now taking stock of your win before trying to decide what to do next.
As you spoke to a few of the troopers on the outskirts of the group, Cody walked up to you with a smile on his face. “Alright kid, how did you do?”
You tried to play it tough, knowing that this was all a game. “I think I won, how many did you kill?”
“I asked you first.”
You stood up a little straighter before speaking. “Seventy six droids.”
The look on his face was hard to read at first, and then a gigantic smile crossed his face. “Congratulations,” he said.
“Really?” You could barely contain your excitement.
“I killed seventy five, so you won.”
Immediately you jumped for joy, running through the groups of clones and excitedly informing them that you had beat the commander in a droid kill-off, and they all laughed at your excitement as they made joking remarks about their commanding officer.
As Cody would tell Obi-Wan later when he was asked, he actually killed seventy seven droids, but the look of excitement and happiness on your face when you realized that you had beat him in a competition was completely worth the loss.
- the end -

Summary: What better holiday to surprise Obi-Wan with than Christmas?
A/N: Welcome to day 3 of Book Places 12 Days of Christmas Celebration
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
“No, no, no!” Anakin complained, marching over and snatching the box out of your hands, “That isn’t how you do it!”
You threw your free hand up in exasperation, “You do it then!” You snapped back, “Beauce you’ve been yelling at me for the past ten minutes about how to decorate for a holiday that I know absolutely nothing about!”
Making a quick grabbing motion, you attempted to take the box of ornaments back, only for him to swipe them just out of your reach.
“It’s not my fault you’re incapable of following directions!” His voice was raising as he glared at you.
Cody was quick to sweep in and gently take the box from the jedi’s hand in fear of him dropping and shattering the glass everywhere.
Rex and Ahsoka just laughed from the side at the scene the two of you were causing, taking a momentary pause from hanging the paper snowflakes from the ceiling.
You huffed out a breath, crossing your arms, “Oh, because you are such a good direction follower?” You challenged.
“Better than you!”
Before you could open your mouth to rebuttal, Cody spoke up, “I hate to break up this lovely argument, but the General will be here soon.”
Recently, all of you- along with your master, Obi-Wan- had been sent on a surveillance mission to a planet that was currently celebrating a holiday called Christmas.
The five of you had hatched a plan right then and there to bring the festivities back to Coruscant to surprise Obi-Wan.
Both of your mouths snapped shut and you gave one last glare to each other before each slowly taking a step back and finally drawing your attention away from one another.
Cody let out a sigh and stepped forward, beginning to place the colorful ornaments on your makeshift ‘Christmas tree’, which was really just a fake, robotic tree. It was the only thing you could really find on the city planet.
“See?” Anakin asked, turning back to you with a raised eyebrow, “He does it correctly.”
“That’s exactly what I was doing!” You yelled back.
“Hey!” Rex snapped, “Break it up, will ya? He’s gonna be here soon and Ahsoka and I still need help finishing with these snowflakes.”
Deciding to put your small, and not uncommon, squabble behind you, you both moved over and began helping to hang up the homemade decorations.
Just then, the sound of a door opening was heard and you all whipped around with wide eyes, caught.
“What the-“ Obi-Wan drew up short, cutting himself off and freezing.
“Surprise!” You all called in sync.
“Is this-“
“Christmas!” You cheered, filling in the gap with a wide grin.
“Christmas?” His eyes were wide with wonder as he looked around at all you had done.
“The holiday that we saw being celebrated on that planet!” Ahsoka chirped excitedly, “We thought we would surprise you by bringing it back to the temple for you!”
“I-wow- thank you.” He stuttered out, still in awe at what he was seeing.
“Don’t say we never got you anything,” Anakin joked, and you all laughed.

Your writing is absolutely amazing!! It makes my heart melt! I stumbled on your blog while looking for GN/masc and/or platonic stuff and was absolutely thrilled!
If it's not too much trouble could I request a small platonic drabble with Rex, Cody, and the twins? Maybe like helping their transmasc little brother figure with their dysphoria? If not I completely get it ofc! Thank you so much for at least reading this! ^^
Hello! Thank you for your kind words! I hope it's okay for me to answer here instead of in an ask so I can have the prompt right in front of me.
This is my first time really writing for multiple clones at once (except for some minor cameos) in this capacity anyway. I hope I did an okay job.
You sat at the table with Echo and Fives, both trying to eat some breakfast while you tugged at your shirt. Rex and Cody both looked up from their meals. It hadn't gotten past them that you were seeming less comfortable in your own skin and they were smart enough to guess why. This was new territory for them, but they wanted to help someone they all considered a friend, and more recently, had come to see as a brother.
"You know, I, uh," Rex cleared his throat and looked at you, "Well I need to shave this down," he rubbed his hand over his head, "and I was going to help Cody with a trim too."
"I struggle to get the back just right," Cody added.
Rex took on a tone that made it clear he was wondering if his suggestion was even helpful. "Would you also be interested in a haircut?"
You smiled a little and nodded. A change might do you some good.
Fives decided to pipe up. "Echo and I have to pick up a few shirts later. You could come with us if you'd like."
"I'd like that," you replied quietly.
You all finished eating and you followed Rex and Cody. Rex made quick work of his own hair and Cody's cut was simple enough.
"Your turn," said Cody. "How do you want it cut? We can break out the scissors too if you want to keep part of it longer."
You didn't have to think very long. You knew what you wanted it to look like, but were afraid you'd mess it up yourself. Rex nodded as you described what you wanted. You and Cody watched as he went to work. You felt nervous at first, but the end result was everything you could have hoped for.
"What do you think," asked Rex.
"Looks great," said Cody.
Rex rolled his eyes. "Yes, thanks, but you weren't the person I was directing the question towards."
Cody just grinned while you replied with a huge smile. "It looks perfect."
You ran your hand over your head a few times, feeling the new length of hair and correlating it to the person you saw in the mirror. Your own reflection a little more in line with who you knew you were.
Echo and Fives showed up in the door way.
"Looks great," said Echo with a smile. "Ready to go?"
You nodded and thanked Rex and Cody before heading off.
The boys weren't ones for taking their time shopping. They knew what they wanted and bought it, but today was different because they wanted to give you a chance to figure out what worked for you. Fives pointed out some clothes that he liked and why he liked them. Echo held everything you and Fives gave him for you to try. Although there was no one else around, they stood in front of the dressing room while you were in there. When you came out to look in the mirror, they both stood behind you, shielding you during this new experience, like it was just the three of you.
They asked you questions about each article of clothing. What you liked, what you didn't, so they could help more effectively. Once you had some new clothes picked out, you headed past some soaps and deodorant. You looked at the items on the shelf but didn't say anything.
"Pick one," said Fives.
"Or pick many," countered Echo.
You picked up a few items, removing the caps and trying to figure out what scents felt like you. The boys waited and gave you space to think about it. You selected two.
On your way back you thanked them for their support on the outing.
"Any time," replied Fives.
"You might not be a clone," said Echo, "but you're still our brother."

“What was that?” You gestured with your deactivated lightsaber towards the wreckage. Remains of battle droids and parts of the buildings scattered everywhere from the explosions. There was still smoke which rose up high into the air, defiantly being the signal that would let the rest of his squad know that things were finished.
“It did the job, didn’t it?” The still helmeted clone came down to your level from his position on the rooftops, climbing down a ladder with one hand holding his rifle.
You stomped up to him, who towered over you in height. “You blew up their town! We’re lucky we evacuated them before this all started!”
“See, I didn’t kill anybody.” His sarcastic words mixed with his permanent sly tone made you more aggravated with him than you already were.

Welcome to the Chaos
Anakin Skywalker x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
Written for Fictober 2024!
Requested by @ghostofskywalker! Hope you like it Tori, and hope I did the clones justice! ❤️
Fandom: Star Wars
Day Fourteen Prompt: "Did you stick to the plan?"
Summary: Commander Fox is about to learn just how true the stories about are the 501st when he joins them on a Separatist raid in the Outer Rim.
Word Count: 2,037
Category: Fluff, Humor
A/N: This can be read as platonic or romantic with Anakin! "Partner" here can mean mission parter, romantic partner, or both!
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Are they here yet?"
I sighed, looking over the mini base camp the 501st had set up to stage our attack. Still no new ships in the landing zone, and none in sight coming in.
"Not yet," I said into my comm, responding to my best friend and partner Anakin Skywalker. He'd taken off to set up the last thing we needed to prepare before engaging with the enemy, taking Rex and Fives with him while I waited here for the last members of our party to join us.
"Well what's taking them so long?" Anakin's voice came back, whining through the comm. "We have an operation to conduct here."
"Beats me. This is the first time I've heard of the Coruscanti Guard joining us way the hell out here for a mission. Maybe they got lost."
"Cody's been out here before, they shouldn't be lost." I rolled my eyes at Anakin's tone, but didn't say anything. "Commander Fox is joining us all the way in the Outer Rim—that's how important this Separatist stash is. We can't just wait around here much longer without losing our window."
Unfortunately, Anakin was right. Not only did this Separatist base hold invaluable information and supplies we could use, it apparently held some items of very specific importance for the Chancellor. I hadn't cared enough to get the details on them, especially because that's why Commander Fox was being sent out here in the first place—to secure whatever it was the Chancellor was so concerned about.
"Well... let's switch to Plan B, then. That way we can get started as soon as you get back, whether or not Cody and Fox make it here in time."
I could hear Anakin's smile even over the crackle of the comm.
"I was hoping you'd say that. Over and out, see you in a minute."
I grinned and put my comm away. Anakin and I had come up with Plan B first, but after dicussion with Cody and Obi-Wan, it'd been replaced by the more boring, playing-it-safe Plan A. Thankfully, the 501st always managed to be on the same page. We could all switch to Anakin, Rex, and I's preferred plan without batting an eye.
Not five minutes after we'd officially changed the plan, a small troop transport ship came swooping down. The doors opened, and Commander Cody led the way towards us, Commander Fox next to him and the rest of the reinforcements from the 212th following right behind.
I grinned and gave Cody a wave as they approached. We'd worked together plenty of times before, and he and the rest of the 212th were my favorite group to work with, other than my own 501st. They weren't usually as crazy as us by any means, but they knew exactly who and what we were, and could hold their own.
Commander Fox, on the other hand, was new. I'd met him a few times in his role leading the Coruscant Guard, but we'd never worked together in the field. He seemed pretty good at his job, so hopefully, he'd be able to keep up with Anakin and I with no problems.
"General," said Cody, his voice formal as he stopped before me with a salute. Fox copied him, and I grinned. "It's good to see you."
"Likewise, Codes. Although you're a little late."
"Are we?" Cody frowned, his eyes shooting immediately to the time display on his wrist. Commander Fox frowned, stepping forward with a serious look on his face.
"My apologies, General. That's my fault. The commander was delayed while I collected some details about the specific things the Chanellor is hoping to capture in this raid."
"Don't worry about it, Fox," I said, waving him off with a grin. "I was mostly just giving Cody a hard time. We're happy to have you both out here!"
Fox gave a serious nod, which I chose to focus on instead of Cody's frown.
"It's an honor to be working with the 501st. Commander Cody briefed me on the plan on our way here, and I'm ready to do my part where you need me."
"About that-"
Before I could say another word, Anakin, Rex, and Fives came rushing in, matching grins on their faces that I knew well. Plan B involved significantly more chaos than Plan A, and I knew Anakin was as happy about that as I was.
"Okay, we're all set," said Anakin, coming to a stop beside me. He bumped my shoulder with his and gave me a boarderline maniacal look. "You ready?"
"You know I am. Did you stick to the plan?"
"Of course. I always do."
Our very own voice of reason Commander Cody couldn't quite hold back a snort. He quickly marshalled his expression as Anakin, Fox, Rex, Fives, and I all turned to look at him. The rest of the 501st and I had raised eyebrows, while Fox looked a little concerned.
"I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that," said Anakin, his narrowed eyes staying on Cody for a few extra beats. I made the mistake of making eye contact with Fives and barely managed to hold back a snort of my own.
"Alright, enough of this," I said, taking Anakin's arm to check the timer on his wrist. As expected, we were seconds away from zero. "It's time to move out! Fox and Rex, you're with me. Cody and Fives, with Ani."
All four clones saluted me, then dropped their salutes less than a second later when our explosives went off. They shook the ground we stood on, and within a few moments, we could hear the shrieking of the droid soldiers we'd caught by surprise.
"What was that?" exclaimed Fox. Anakin and I just shared a grin.
"That was the plan!" Rex answered for us. I reached out and took Anakin's hand, giving it one last squeeze for luck along with a wink, before the two of us took our boys in different directions.
"That was not the plan!" Fox shouted, following along with Rex and I anyway. I shared a grin with Rex.
"It was our plan!"
I heard a disgruntled grunt from Fox, but to his credit, he quickly fell into step with Rex and I. The two of us moved like a well oiled machine, especially since Rex had spent so long with the 501st and our shenanigans, but Fox managed to keep pace and hold his own incredibly well. In the midst of all the chaos from the explosions, we moved along the right side of the battlefield like a whirlwind, clearing one side while Anakin, Fives, and Cody took the other. The rest of our troops and Cody's 212th reinforcements cut through the center like a hot knife through butter.
Unfortunately for us, the droids managed to get organized before we managed to route them. We'd cleared about half of the space when a droid tank came to life, whirling on the three of us cutting along the sideline.
"Rex!"
"On it, General! Fox, come on!"
Fox looked confused, but he didn't bat an eye as he followed Rex, charging ahead of me and closing distance with the tank. I grinned, especially as I watched Rex take command of the situation with ease despite his technically lower rank.
"Take a knee with your right side facing the tank!" he shouted. Fox looked like he was about to ask a question, but Rex beat him to it as he jumped and I extended my hand. "Just do it!"
I caught Rex halfway through his jump, using the Force to lift him up and onto the top of the droid tank. Luckily for both of us, Fox trusted Rex and I enough to follow Rex's instructions. Just as he got his foot planted and took a knee, I jumped, landing on Fox's thigh and pushing off to join Rex on top of the tank. I grinned at Fox and shouted at him as I jumped past.
"Good! Now fire at the thing!"
Moving like one connected being, Fox used enough heavy weaponry to keep the tank from moving too far forward. I cut the thing open with my lightsaber, and Rex fired a few quick rounds through the hole I'd made to take out the droids and the tank as one. It sank to the ground in a heap, leaving Fox directly in front of it and Rex and I triumphantly on top.
"Nice work," I said with a grin, high-fiving Rex and jumping down to do the same with Fox. He gave me the high-five despite shaking his head, then stood up with a huff.
"Now I know what Commander Cody was trying to warn me about," he said. "It's nice to know the younger clones weren't telling tall tales about what goes on in the 501st."
"Massive, epic successes?" I guessed. Rex grinned at me, and when Fox shook his head again, this time it was with a smile.
"Exactly, General."
It didn't take us long to clear the rest of the battlefield. When we'd finished, Rex and I shared another high-five, then met up with Anakin, Cody, and Fives in the center of the former chaos.
"Well done you three," Anakin said as he came over to us. "That was a nice move with the tank. I'm especially impressed with how well you kept pace, Commander Fox."
"Right?" I exclaimed, jumping in before Fox could answer. "You're practically an honorary member of the 501st! That was incredible!"
Fox gave us a salute and a slightly uncertain looking smile.
"Thank you, Generals."
Cody smiled and clapped a hand on Fox's shoulder.
"Don't worry. You get used to it."
Anakin, Rex, Fives, and I shared a conspiratorial smile. Watching uninitiated people try to deal with the way we did things was one of our collective favorite passtimes, and this had been no exception.
After another moment enjoying the aftermath, I sighed.
"Alright, we should probably wrap up and get out of here. Rex, Fives, can you two go with Cody and Fox to secure whatever it is the Chancellor's looking for? We need to get that to him as soon as possible."
Rex and Fives both saluted.
"Yes, General."
Anakin sighed and draped an arm across my shoulders as we watched the rest of our group walk away. I couldn't be totally sure what they were talking about, but I had a feeling it involved Commander Fox debriefing about the somewhat unorthodox methods he'd just witnessed from the 501st. Luckily for us, I knew Rex and Fives loved it, and even though he liked to be the voice of reason, I knew Cody enjoyed it, too. I knew they'd bring Fox around to the same page, even if we'd been a pretty big surprise today.
"Well, that went well," said Anakin happily. I smiled and leaned into his side.
"It sure did. We've got a damned good group, which helps."
"Sure does. What do you think Fox would do if we asked him to stick around with us for a few drinks once we get this place cleaned out?"
I laughed. "I guess we won't know until we ask him, will we? It is a post-battle tradition for the 501st, after all."
"Exactly. How else are we supposed to get close enough to regularly throw each other over walls and onto tanks?"
"Training?"
Anakin scoffed. "There's no training for the situations we regularly find ourselves in. Or for the ways we have to get ourselves out of them."
"I agree," I said, turning to face him with a grin. "So... last one to find valuable supplies and Separatist information has to do a handstand while singing in front of the whole group tonight?"
Anakin smirked. "You better start practicing your song."
"Not a chance, flyboy!" I shouted over my shoulder as I took off running through the battle remnants. I heard Anakin shout a "Hey!" behind me, but I ignored him as I raced through the destroyed supplies, ships, and droids. I tore past Cody, Fox, Rex, and Fives and saw a raised eyebrow or two, but I didn't stop to explain.
I had a bet to win, after all, and the best way to be initiated to the chaos of the 501st was to jump in head-first with questions later, anyway.

Cody’s head hurt again.
But it wasn’t like last time, he was in control now and always will be.
“How are you feeling Kotes?” Rex came around the tables and laid a hand on Cody’s shoulder.
To be honest Cody wasn’t sure what he was feeling, if anything. Nausea sat in the pit of his stomach but he feared that it wasn’t just from the procedure he went through.
A hand reached up to the side of his head, the fresh bandage felt course under his hand- the all to familiar feeling of before.
“I’m fine.” Cody’s voice was raspy and burned his throat- Rex picked up on this and quickly went to get him a drink of water.
There he sat alone.
He was alone for a while now, but nothing like this. If you went back a few week you would see the small spark of hope illuminating in his eyes.
Cody wasn’t sure of a lot of things since the war ended but maybe it was the illusion of hope that he and Crosshair could escape together.
“Good soldiers follow orders.”
Then Cody went AWOL. Finally it seemed that he got his mind right- the headaches and the dreams that plagued him however said otherwise.
Rex walked back in. Cody’s eyes were clouded in thought as he sat unmoving on the table.
Placing a ginger hand on his knee Rex has never seen is brother in such a state. But the way he felt in this moment- finally getting his free will totally returned to him was something he would never forget.
“Hey Kotes,” Rex helped him to his feet and lend him out into the halls. “We found something you might need to take a look at.”
Cody almost instantly snapped back to attention as the pair of brothers made their way back to the ship they arrived on.
“A few radars picked up on some chatter from the bounty hunters guild.” Rex returned to the Captain Cody knows and loves, things were going back to how they use to be.
“Why would your crew have any interest in the guilds?” Cody questioned, a little slow to connect the dots. “Your fighting an empire here.”
Rex stared at him for a moment, his try at a sarcastic tone clearly flew over Rex’s head.
It was one of the only times Cody has ever seen Rex so unsure about what he was about to say. “We picked up Y/N’s location. The bounty for Jedi are unbelievably high and I’m worried if one of us doesn’t get there in time it might go sour.”
Cody froze in his seat, the end of Rex’s sentence seemed to go blurry. The moment replayed every hour of the day, awake or asleep. He memorized the moment when he watched Obi-wan fall from that terrible hight.
He remembered the look you gave him as he turned to you, your lightsaber coming up in your shaky hands staring at him.
“Cody what’s going on?”
“I- they made it?” Cody looked at Rex, the dark thought that he was playing a terrible joke on him.
Rex only nodded his confirmation. Waiting for Cody to see just want he would do.
You wouldn’t want to see him. Cody didn’t even want to see himself. The terrors he’s created would never wash off no matter how hard he scrubbed.
The armor that surrounded him all his life was striped away, just like everything he has ever known. His sunshine was stripped away as well.
Taking a shaky breath in Cody whispered. “Take me to them.”
•••
Your head hurt again.
It was just like the last time, the moment you realized nobody was on your side anymore.
The purge left you stranded by yourself, unsure of what to do you fled as far as you could.
The outer rim served its purpose for now but the empire was expanding, and the hunters became bolder with their search.
Against your better judgment you tried to reach Ahsoka, Hunter even but it was no use.
Maybe now you were by yourself. Cutoff.
You sat up straight in your makeshift bed. The sheets bawled into your fist as your chest heaved and sweet ran down your back.
You weren’t safe even in your own mind.
You watched him fall. The scream you let out as you lost him over the edge. Everyone around you went off.
Cody. Your Cody turned to you next- all around you heard the all too familiar sound of blasters raising. Cody aimed for you as you brought your weapon up, the thought of hurting any of them never crossed your mind before.
“Cody.” You had tried. “Cody what’s going on?”
The blaster that was shot at you was the moment you woke this time. Other times you weren’t as lucky to be spared with the memory.
The sky was masked with the darkness of the night, your clock told you at you barely sleep 2 hours since you tried to go to sleep.
You gathered yourself as practically dragged yourself to the only window in your “home”
This wasn’t home. Nothing would come close to what the word use to mean to you, but it was soemthing keeping you mildly safe.
The sky above never really changed, it was the only constant you found after the end of the war. The only thing you could depend on that would never harm you.
Your head buzzed again, for a split second you turned to your hidden saber, the weapon you couldn’t pick up since you arrived on this rock. The crystal within buzzed constantly in your ear, begging to be picked up once again.
It use to be a background noise that grounded you, but things have changed.
You stared into the darkness for a moment, the lightsaber wasn’t it. Turning your attention back to the outside world the familiar feeling felt crooked in your chest.
It wasn’t really right, but it was something you recognized none the less.
A cloak that you threw around yourself countless times before made its way to your shoulders- masking you from others and you left closing your door silently behind you.
For a moment you thought maybe, just maybe it was your master heat to tell you everything would be ok, to help you just as he had countless times before.
But you couldn’t think like that, like you use too. Hope burned within you as you followed the force you tried desperately to get rid of.
•••
Cody tried the comm channel he used countless times before, he could practically put it in with his eyes closed.
But of course no answer.
He did try once before- the first night he ran from the empire, alone in the back of a transport ship he tried to reach the Jedi he grew fond of.
It was one of the only instants the commanders eyes watered slightly and his nose ran.
Rex was waiting near by with the ship as he walked the streets of this planet alone. His armor was covered with a poncho Rex lent him and frankly it was the best he could do.
He hoped that you weren’t here, the disgusting streets and inhabitants made him sick. But what if this was better than see him again?
Cody shook that last thought. His hand shook slightly at his side which was a nervous habit he picked up a long time ago.
His eyes scanned the dark scenery for any sign that you might have been here, a sign Cody hoped nobody else could pick up on.
On instinct he turned down an alley to his left, this was definitely not the place to be at this time.
His eyes squinted trying to pin point a figure towards the end. This was the only time he wished for his helmet that didn’t seem his own.
Something ate at the inside of him again. His breath was sparse wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him. If his mind was no longer his own.
The figure took a few steps from the shadows that engulfed them. The moon illuminated someone that haunted every minute of his life.
You held a blaster out in front of you, but this time you didn’t shake.
Cody didn’t dare take another step. His eyes were firmly planted on the ground as he kneeled down dropping his blaster in front of him.
“Cody?”
He could only nod, afraid that his voice would highlight just how vulnerable he felt in this very moment.
But he had to say something, he couldn’t leave you again.
“I’m- I’m so sorry kid.” His voice broke through his words. This uncertain feeling engulfed him like a flame showing no mercy. “Sorry, I’m sorry.”
You stared at him for a moment. Taking in the sight- clearly things were different. The sunshine was stripped from him. His eyes, though they tried to avoid you, seemed hollow.
You thought of two things in this moment.
You wanted to run, run from someone that could hurt you all over again, someone that you weren’t even sure you could trust.
Or
You could try to hang onto one of the only things that you so desperately needed. You needed someone.
The blaster clanked to the ground as you walked to Cody. Your guard was up but the tears betrayed what you were really hoping for.
You hoped that Cody was himself again.
Cody looked up, your familiar eyes caught his own. The tears that he dried so many times fell across your cheeks, and he only wished to dry them one more time.
“I’m sorry.” He didn’t know what else to say, his mind left him and he could only mutter the only words that went through his head, as if they could make everything better.
You kneeled down with him. For a second Cody thought this might be a dream of his own and this was the moment that he would loose you once again.
But you stayed.
Quickly you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him flushed against you.
Cody wasted no time crushing you into him. You cling to him as he continued to whisper small apologies into your hair.
Through the muffled sniffles you voiced. “I liked your other armor kot’ika.”
For the first time in a while Cody found himself giving an actual laugh.
He nodded as he griped you even tighter as if he was afraid that if he let go you would leave.
“I think I could use some help painting it again.” He spoke a little louder. The emotions still sounded in his voice.
It was your turn to nod into his chest. For the first time in a while You found yourself crying tears of relief that finally someone was here for you again.
This time you weren’t going to let him go again.

You're welcome! Fives doesn't need a plate when the container works just fine.
Tumblr media
@clone-anon here with some big brothers.
You couldn't hide that you were feeling down lately. Some days were better than others and when you hit a low rut it was hard to find the energy to reach out. It was like you wanted to, but the words wouldn't come.
Rex, Echo, Fives, and Cody were heading out for a drink tonight and asked if you wanted to grab a bite to eat and catch up. You went silent on the other side of the comm.
"I'm not sure," you said. "I'm sorry. I'm just really tired."
Rex said he understood and what you didn't know was that on the other side of the comm, Echo and Fives shared a look. Once Cody caught up with them, it was decided that they'd make their way to your place. On the way there they picked up plenty of carry out for dinner.
You were a bit surprised to hear the door buzzer about an hour after you finished talking to Rex, but opened the door to find the brothers walking in. You smiled to yourself a bit as they each greeted you with a hug. You should have known they would know what wasn't said over the comm.
Echo grabbed plates for the food even though Fives was already eating out of one container. Cody made sure you'd all be hydrated and Rex quietly reminded you that you weren't alone. They cared about you.
"Come on," Echo said. "Let's put on a holo."
You all gathered around to watch a holovid. You had a couch and a chair and while you normally took the chair, Fives grinned as he flopped down sideways in the chair and Cody nodded for you to sit between him and Echo with Rex on the other end of the couch.
You sat back and ate as the movie started. The food was warm and one of your favorites. Your home felt a little brighter and friendlier. They ended up spending the night, finding any space between the bed, the chair, the couch, and a pile of pillows and blankets on the floor. Nights like these were never a cure for what you were going through, but these men felt like family and having them around reminded you that you weren't alone and you didn't have to go through these things alone.
In the morning, you stepped into the kitchen to find Echo making breakfast. You made caf and as Cody, Rex, and finally Fives joined you, you knew it was going to be a better morning than yesterday's.
This made me cry for a good minute (in a good way I think), thank you so so much. Your writing always helps me on my really bad days and I really really appreciate it. I laughed so loud at reading about Fives eating of the container. This made my day, thank you so much

could you do a ficlet of platonic cody and obi-wan’s padawan? i don’t have any plot ideas, i’d love to see what you come up with something fluffy<3

summary: in an attempt to get his general to actually take a break, commander cody recruits help from obi-wan's new padawan.
clone troopers masterlist
Operation: Rest and Relaxation
You were surprised when you received a communication from Commander Cody asking you to come see him, and you were even more surprised when you stepped onto the bridge of the ship to not see Obi-Wan standing with his commander. “What can I do for you?” you asked Cody, Waxer, and Boil as you walked over to them. You were still a fairly new addition to the 212th, after your previous master died in battle, you had been reassigned to finish your Jedi training under Master Kenobi. You got along well with the troops, but you wouldn’t consider them your best friends.
“Would you agree that the General needs to take a rest?” Boil asked, as he and Waxer exchanged looks. “I think he almost fell asleep eating a ration bar this morning.”
You nodded, immediately agreeing with them. Obi-Wan Kenobi was many things, but attuned to his own self-care was not one of them. “I’ve tried to get him to take a rest,” you said. “But he never listens to me.”
“Then I think it’s time we take matters into our own hands,” Cody said. “We’re scheduled for a leave in two rotations, so we’ll be able to execute a plan without worrying too much about getting called to battle.”
You nodded. “So, does anyone have any ideas? This isn’t going to be easy.”
***
Despite all the time you spent planning with Cody, Waxer, and Boil, it seemed like nothing you tried worked in getting your Master to take a kriffing nap. You swiped his datapad while he was eating dinner one day so that he couldn’t keep battle planning even while you were on leave, and he had an extra one hidden away. You asked him to work with you on your meditation skills, and the whole time you sat and tried to get him to meditate with you, his thoughts were so loud that they were pushing their way into your head, and that clearly wasn’t working.
Every night, you met with Cody on the bridge, and neither of you had any success. “I think at this point we may have to kidnap and sedate him,” Cody said. “This can’t be healthy.”
“It isn’t,” you agreed. “And one day he’s just going to shut down.”
“And it’s not like we can lock him in his quarters like I do with the rest of the men,” Cody grumbled. “The kriffing Force gets in the way.”
You laughed, but understood the commander’s disappointment that there wasn’t one simple answer to getting Obi-Wan to go to sleep.
It wasn’t until another rotation had passed that progress was made, even though neither you nor Cody were directly responsible. Wrapped up in the exhilaration of leave (and the beer at 79’s) being so close, Waxer and Boil started a company-wide disc blaster fight in the hallways of the flagship one day, and Obi-Wan had gotten hit in the crossfire. Not expecting to step into a zone of all-out warfare, he was accidentally tripped and fell to the ground.
It was nothing bad of course, a sprained ankle and a little bruise on his arm, but to you, it might have been a gift from the Maker. You accompanied Cody to the medbay to see him, where Obi-Wan was currently attempting to convince a medical droid that he was well enough to be discharged.
“You need to rest Master,” you said, and he turned to you with an exasperated look on his face. “Take some time to heal, and to catch up on sleep.”
“Your padawan is right sir,” Cody cut in, shooting his General a look that he had often used on his brothers when they refused medical treatment. “The galaxy will be just fine if you take a nap right now.”
Obi-Wan looked like he wanted to say something in response, but eventually he just sighed. “Fine,” he said. “But if anything happens, I want to be woken up and informed about it.”
You nodded, knowing full well that 1) nothing was going to happen on the journey back to Coruscant, and 2) even if something did happen, you weren’t going to wake him up unless the galaxy was ending. Cody had a look on his face that proved he was thinking the same thing, and yet you both smiled and assured the General that you would let him know.
The two of you headed back towards the bridge of the ship as one of the medical droids gave Obi-Wan another bacta patch, and you shared a small laugh once your master was out of earshot.
A comfortable silence settled over the two of you as you walked, and then Cody spoke up. “I’m getting a cup of caf right now, do you want one?” he asked.
“That’d be wonderful, thank you commander.”
He smiled as he stepped away towards the lounge. “No problem kid. And call me Cody, alright? You’re one of us now.”
“Alright Cody. Thank you.”
As he walked away, you couldn’t help but feel glad that you had found a place here, and that you had made some new friends.
- the end -

💛 I wanted him safe post order 66 and I thought maybe a hint toward him finding out he isn't responsible for killing his general might be nice. He deserves to be safe and with those he cares about.
Hello it's @clone-anon here. I hope this is okay. It kind of got away from me at one point and I had to reel it in, so hope it comes across as alright.
You had to get off Coruscant. The planet didn't feel safe ever since the Republic became the Empire and it wasn't long before you were searching for a planet further from the Empire's grasp. You slowly gathered some supplies, not wanting it to look like you were about to be on the run in case people got suspicious. Besides, you didn't completely trust the other people staying in the hostel.
The morning you left, you pulled out your supplies, stuffed them in a bag, threw on your favorite oversized poncho, and headed out the door. You made your way to a transport when you noticed someone standing in a dark corner. You knew it was a clone, but didn't recognize the pattern on the armor. You hadn't really been around any clones since the war ended, but your previous job stocking supplies had made it possible to get to know many of them. You took a few steps toward this one and felt a pang of hope when you saw the scar on his face.
"Cody?"
He looked up at you and his jaw dropped for a moment. He grabbed you and quickly pulled you to his side.
"Am I glad to see you," he whispered, hugging you. You asked each other why you were here. He was ready to leave as much as you were and at the moment his biggest problem was having a familiar face and wearing armor out in public. Your plan changed immediately. He wasn't about to let you go off on your own. You'd help take care of each other now. You gave him your poncho to wear to hide most of his armor. You opened a second bag that was only partially filled so he could leave his helmet in there. His face was familiar, but if he looked like he was just out around town, you were less likely to get questions.
"Tatooine sounds as good as anywhere else," he said. Resolved that this was now the plan, the Cody you knew was back. Standing confidently, he walked up to the counter and got two tickets for the next transport. He walked next to you, hand on your back as you walked onto the transport and sat down, Cody keeping an eye out for any trouble. Every since the Empire came about, everyone seemed to be watching everyone, but his stern expression gave you both an extra layer of protection. No one was going to mess with you.
The trip took longer than you thought it would with the transport stopping in multiple locations for people to get on or off. You felt yourself start to fall asleep and Cody put an arm around you, letting you rest against him. When you arrived and got off the transport, you were greeted by dry air, harsh sun, but a new start. Your heart felt a little lighter. Instead of doing this alone, you had each other.
Codyyy…😭🥺

The Young General's Final Battle
Summary: Reader, the teenaged padawan of Kenobi, dies.
Warnings: Main character death (reader), crush injuries, blood, angst
Notes: Read the fluffier first part here!
Gn!Padawan!reader x (platonic) Kenobi and Cody
Word count: 629
A gentle hand rested on your shoulder pulling you out of your sleep.
“How long was I out?” You ask groggily. Speaking took more effort than normal, and your breath was hard to catch. It felt like your lungs weren’t operating at full capacity, like a bantha was sitting on you.
“Not sure,” Master Kenobi said, peering down at you. He was knelt on the ground next to you. The dust from the battle still swirled in the air, although you couldn’t hear any droids marching. That didn’t mean there weren’t any. You had to regroup with the 212th and prepare for whatever came next.
You were dully aware of some pain in your legs, but nonetheless tried to stand. For some reason, Master Kenobi pushed you back onto the ground, his hand never left your shoulder.
“It’s okay, Y/n” he said, taking your hand. “A medic is on his way. Don’t try to move.”
“What–?” You craned your neck to look at your legs. A massive boulder blocked your view. Kenobi gently pushed your shoulder back once again, this time onto his balled-up cloak, as a sort of cushion against the rocks.
“No, no!” You resisted. “Master, we have to fight! The clankers will easily take the capital. Its defenses are too weak without us! We’ll lose the whole planet!”
“Vodika…” a new person approaches you from the right, uttering a strange word that you could have sworn you’ve heard before. Commander Cody copies Master Kenobi and kneels beside you and grasps your hand. His voice is even, measured, and reassuring. “It’s okay, we managed to push the Seppies back to their base while you were unconscious. The best thing you can do right now is rest here, where you’re safe, and get ready for tomorrow's battle.”
He ends his words with a small smile, one that hides something. Whatever it is, that can’t matter much right now. Cody said you’re safe, so you must be. The pain in your legs is a little more noticeable now, but Master Kenobi said the medic was inbound. You’d probably wake up in your tent in camp, all bandaged up.
You’re not quite sure when you closed your eyes, but you knew Cody was gently stroking your head, lulling you to sleep. One by one your muscles untensed, and your breathing evened out into small, shallow puffs.
“Why would you tell them that?” Kenobi demanded of Cody. “We have to keep them conscious or… or they might not wake up!”
“Cyare,” Cody said. “I need you to listen. They’re not going to wake–”
“We just need to get them out from under the boulder.” Desperation made Kenobi’s hands shake as he lifted them towards the massive rock. Cody leaned over you, grabbing both of Kenobi’s hands in his own. He forced the General to look him in his eyes.
“That boulder is the only thing keeping Y/n from bleeding out. The moment it’s gone there will be a torrent of blood and they will be dead in seconds. Do you understand?”
Hesitantly, Kenobi nodded, finally starting to accept the gravity of the situation.
“This way,” Cody said, reassuringly. “They’ll just sleep and get to… get to go in relative peace.”
“We’ll stay with them,” Master Kenobi said, regaining his normal composure. “It wouldn’t be right for them to be alone.”
“Of course.”
They ignored the distant sound of metal feet stomping across the ground. The only sounds that mattered were your small, rattling breaths drawing ever further apart until finally, they stopped altogether.
Cody reaches down and flags this location on the map. After the battle, which may take mere hours, or last days, they could come back to retrieve your remains. There is no time to grieve in this war.

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of Hell! You can call me Venus, I'm not new to this hellsite by any means and I finally decided it was time to carve out the niche in the Star Wars fandom that I always dreamed of someone else making.
On this blog, I will be posting various headcanons, blurbs, quotes, fanart, possibly fanfictions of my own writing, all relating to what I consider to be my favorite ships, including rare pairings and a variety of ships that I think I came up with because I am single IRL and would really rather not be.
I personally write a ridiculous amount of self-indulgent fanfiction that I don't post anywhere and only write for my own enjoyment, but my preferred pairings and AUs are very rarely anywhere near canon. I always hoped there were more people with uncommon interests in the fandom, but after years of no luck, I've made the decision to find them myself, or convert some people...
My main ships that I enjoy writing about/am interested in exploring are:
Quinfox/Foxquin/Vox (Quinlan Vos x Commander Fox)
Codywan (Commander Cody x Obi-Wan Kenobi)
Blyla (Aayla Secura x Commander Bly)
Quinobi/Obiquin (Quinlan Vos x Obi-Wan Kenobi)
Rexsoka (Extremely wary of this one, I would only explore the concept post-Clone Wars Era as Ahsoka is... A child before the end of the War... Yeah, none of that please)
Kanera (Kanan Jarrus x Hera Syndulla)
Dinluke (Din Djarin x Luke Skywalker)
Wreckme? (Padme Amidala x Wrecker? Weird one that I think ONE SINGULAR PERSON has art of and now it lives in my brain dumpster and I've been toying with it a bit)
I'm curious about Kit Fisto x Aayla Secura x Commander Bly, but I haven't actually explored it much, so if you've got any thoughts or favorite fan works, feel free to send them my way!
These are the ships that I currently find myself interested in and writing about, but I'm open to hearing about what other people might like, my only boundaries are non-familial/platonic ships between clones, that's not my cup of tea, and any Master/Padawan ships, something I'm not interested in and would prefer to not engage with, you do you, of course.
I also enjoy at least two AUs, one that I believe pre-dates my use of it and the other is a very common one: Sith AU (Duh) and Victory Ball AU (In which the Clone War ends in a Republic-Jedi victory and things are all made right, Palpatine will always die, usually in increasingly hilarious or vengeful ways, depending on how my day went)
I am a SUCKER for the Soulmate trope/AU, and if anyone ever wants my thoughts on a specific ship being soulmates, ask! I will gladly babble my nonsense to any who wish to hear it!
I will forewarn that I am likely to post about ships + reader, for example, I'm already planning for my first real post to be a Quinfox x reader headcanon, so if you're like me and are polyamorous or LGBTQ+ in another way, you're welcome to send things in too! There's room for everyone around here, my little deal is that no one can be harmed and it can't be an illegal relationship (Examples include but are not limited to: Non-Con, incest, underage/of age partners, abusive dynamics/themes, coercion,) in our standards. As long as it would be legal here, I can usually give it a chance, though if you want me to write about a ship committing crimes together... That's a different story, I have access to Google and no respect for my search history, if you want to hear about being Codywan's assassin/lover, shoot me an ask, I have thoughts ;)
Lastly, I will post NSFW and suggestive content at some point and while I will do my best to add many tags and warnings, if you can't handle that risk and/or you are under 18, GO AWAY. I'm not sorry that I'm an adult and that I enjoy adult content, and anyone who doesn't want to see it is more than welcome to leave.
Ageless blogs and blogs run by minors will be blocked, and it will not be warned or nice, I don't want you here and if you're truly mature, you should be mature enough to respect that this space is not for you.
Asks are open, requests are open, ranting in the asks is more than welcome, feel free to send any questions in and I'll get to them ASAP!
