#plant prey

Ok ok we've all seen a "prey" swallow a would-be predator. We've all seen a plant pred - little shop of horrors was definitely a Thing. But what about an herbivorous pred and sentient plant prey?
Like. I keep thinking about that one HASO post that had the idea that flesh-based lifeforms are the weird things of the universe. That most life is plant-based. So what would happen if a bunny girl or something meets up with a plant girl during a cultural exchange program? Idk I think the only way that they're both leaving that room is if the plant is hanging off the gut of the bunny lady.
Call that a veggie burger lmao

Rabbitkin (or any prey animal) tips- FORAGING!
It’s easy to forget that we have nutritious food right in the yard, park, or the woods! For animals like rabbits or deer or anything that likes to forage we can safely forage If you know your plants well!
(REMEMBER- ALWAYS do your research! Look up different plants/mushrooms and MAKE SURE TO POSITIVELY IDENTIFY any plant before eating!)
Heres some yummy forage that’s super good for you:
🌸 Dandelions! The cute yellow flowers are delicious and all parts are edible! Best in early spring before they get bitter.
🍓🫐 wild berries! Blackberries are easy to identify in the wild by spikey bushes and familiar leaves. The fruits are amazing and the leaves are edible in moderation- makes a lovely tea! Wild strawberries are delicious but hard to find!
☘️ Wild sorrel- one of my favorites! A tangy, yellow-green clover looking plant- tastes like sour patch kids! Contains oxalis acid so eat in moderation!
🧄 Wild garlic- A tall, garlicky smelling stalk, great to put in recipes or eat right off the ground. 🧅 Wild onion- These are easy to identify by dark green stalks and oniony smell. Great right off the ground or in recipes!
Kudzu- Everything but the seeds are edible on a kudzu plant! This is a southern growing vine that has taken over the south- but it’s edible and very delicious!
Nasturtium- I plant these in my garden to repel pests- but the leaves and flowers are delicious and taste like peppers! They grow really fast and are so fun to eat!

The Amazing Ostrich: Nature's Giant Bird Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see a bird that can’t fly but can run faster than most animals? Meet the ostrich! Ostriches are fascinating creatures and hold the title of the world's largest bird. Let’s dive into what makes these birds so incredible. Size and Speed Ostriches are giants in the bird world. An adult ostrich can grow up to 9 feet tall and weigh as much as 320 pounds. Despite their size, these birds are built for speed. They have long, powerful legs that allow them to run up to 45 miles per hour. This speed helps them escape from predators in the wild. Unique Features One of the most noticeable things about ostriches is their long neck and large eyes. Their eyes, which are about the size of a billiard ball, are the largest of any land animal. This gives them excellent vision to spot predators from a distance. Ostriches have wings, but they aren’t used for flying. Instead, their wings help them balance while running and are used in mating displays to attract partners. They also have a unique way of dealing with the heat; they pant like dogs to cool down since they live in hot, arid regions. Diet These birds are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and small animals. Their diet mainly consists of seeds, leaves, and flowers, but they also munch on insects and small reptiles. Ostriches don’t have teeth, so they swallow small stones that help grind up food in their stomachs. Reproduction and Family Life Ostriches have a unique way of raising their young. During the breeding season, the dominant male mates with several females, but it’s the main female, or "major hen," that lays most of the eggs in a communal nest. This nest can contain up to 60 eggs! Ostrich eggs are the largest of any bird, about the size of a cantaloupe, and have very thick shells. Both the male and the major hen take turns incubating the eggs until they hatch. Once the chicks are born, they are cared for by the entire group. The young ostriches grow quickly and can run at a pretty good speed just a few days after hatching. Survival Tactics Ostriches have several ways to stay safe from predators like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. Their incredible speed is their first line of defence. If running isn’t enough, they can kick with their powerful legs, delivering a blow strong enough to injure or even kill a predator. Contrary to popular belief, ostriches do not bury their heads in the sand to hide. This myth likely comes from their habit of lying low and flattening their necks against the ground to blend in with their surroundings when they sense danger. Conclusion Ostriches are truly remarkable birds with their impressive size, speed, and unique behaviours. They play an essential role in their ecosystem by helping to control insect populations and disperse seeds through their droppings. Next time you think of birds, remember the incredible ostrich, nature's giant, flightless wonder!

Fantasy warrior cats world where once a cat pledged their loyalty to a clan at their apprentice or acceptance a ritual is done and gives them features to match their clan.
Thunderclan has hooves and some have antlers (leaders have full antlers, deputies have half antlers, and healers have little small antlers)
Riverclan has webbed paws and little frills with some having full fins and even gills (leaders have gills and big fins, deputy’s have gills, and healers have fins)
Windclan has feathers and talons with some having wings or small beaks (leaders have wings big enough to glide plus a beak, deputies have small beaks, healers have smaller wings and a slight beak tooth)
Shadowclan has patches of plants growing from their pelt for camouflage and some have venomous features (leaders have bigger camouflage more for show and venomous claws, deputies have venomous fangs, healers have more flowery or herbal camouflage)
Skyclan has prehensile tails, wider more monkey like paws, and some have slight webbing that lets them swoop (leaders have longer fangs and webbing, deputies have longer tails and sharper fangs, healers have even more advanced paws and a little webbing just enough to let them slightly glide)

Finally continuing my Pangea Ultima series (imagining Earth 250 million years into the future), I'm entering the mountain biome. There's a continuous mountain range that runs all the way through the super continent with elevations on par and even exceeding the Himalayas. Most plant life consists of mosses and lichens with a few cold tolerant grasses. The many of invertebrates that inhabit this environment evolved thick, wooly coats that makes them resemble mammals to an extent. Warmed blooded vertebrates managed to find a haven in these mountains with some even achieving dominate ecological roles as their distant ancestors did in past. I'll dedicate individual posts to describing the various groups/species that inhabit this environment.
As always, comments and critiques are welcome.

I was going to write this in the tags of your last post but i think it's important actually so I'm gonna send an ask
On a more serious note I'm actually kind of obsessed with psychoanalyzing Zoro specifically. Because he actually has some pretty big issues I think, mentally
He takes his self appointed job as protector of the crew very very seriously, and he's really hard on himself if he thinks he's failed in any way. I mean just look at him right after Little Garden, or how mad he is after losing his shadow on Thriller Bark.
So yeah there's nothing in that brain but swords and I fucking love that about him, he sure is sharpening them to an unhealthy degree isn't he. He's never strong enough, after all, to protect everyone.
I just,, really like combining silly ideas with serious ones, it's fun
GOD listen is 12:25 am but I just couldnt go to bed without at least STARTING to jot down my thoughts on this but like YEAH. for SURE. Zoro for all that he’s shown to be a pretty simple guy with a single-minded focus, has a LOT to chew on in terms of character depth and layers. There’s lots of fun contradictions to him too. He’s prideful and self-assured but also so often self-punishing, and he’s also someone who is fiercely independent and a free spirit, while having a habit of building his own identity around others (both his dreams are shared with others, they belong other people as much as they do to him and that’s a LOT to think about).
You may have actually caught me red handed here cause that ‘Journey to the Center of the Mind’ story concept maaaay be kind of something i’ve played around with for months now. I think I once tried to write out like a basic premise, but the only thing I really remember is is wanting Luffy to be the primary person to undergo the journey cause. if every Strawhat was present it’d feel less intimate, less personal, and I feel like Luffy would want to explore Zoro’s mind alone to preserve his privacy. Unaware that he’s the person Zoro has the most to hide from. I think the levels of Zoro’s willingness to put the Strawhat’s well being first has the potential to truly frighten him, if the visuals Zoro’s mind provides him are right.

Honestly I am VERY worried about Dandelionfall's kits, the effects of nuclear fallout can cause some really weird stuff to occur. There's frogs near iirc Chernobyl that rapidly evolved to have increased amounts of melanin to help against radiation. They went from bright green to all black in a very short amount of time for evolution, and it's actually really neat imo. Can't wait for book three, to be honest. I def will start liveposting again once it's complete! Especially since you seemed to really enjoy it. I like talking about stuff I'm reading about but worry I'm perceived as annoying, so it's nice to be encouraged, especially by the author.
"There's frogs near iirc Chernobyl that rapidly evolved to have increased amounts of melanin to help against radiation. They went from bright green to all black in a very short amount of time for evolution,"!!! this!! this is what i'm talkin about. I also have some stuff about trees and plants from siberia from nuclear testing there. it's also interesting that after Chenobyl they found radiation in sheep from Wales but there was no recorded negative effect. it really is just luck of the draw- what mutation is 'natural/'by chance'/would have happened anyway, and what mutation is because of the radiation? what happens to the living cats, never mind those not yet born???
and don't ever worry about ''being annoying'' i can tell you everyone on tumblr loves getting and replying to asks (and those who dont probably dont have them on or just dont response) im so glad you wanna livepost bk3 i will have to start work on it asap!!!!
