Lance had stopped by the grocery store on the way home from work and consequently, Pidge made it to their apartment first.
After changing out of work clothes into a comfy t-shirt and shorts, she flung herself on the bed, surrendering to an adolescent sulk fueled by her brain’s irritating tendency to obsessively play the day’s events over and over.
Hearing him entering the apartment and moving about the kitchen, she considered rising to help unpack and put away groceries, but stubborn anger held her in bed, staring at the wall, quietly fuming.
“Honey, I’m home,” announced Lance in an overdone Cuban accent as he strolled into the bedroom.
She ignored him, eyes still on the bedroom’s wall, as the clomp of boots hitting the floor and squeak of drawers opening and closing announced his wardrobe change, probably into garb similar to hers, a t-shirt and shorts. The bed shuddered as he plopped down at her side.
“Okay,” he said with a note of pique. “What did I do?”
“Nothing.” She cursed herself for the stupid passive aggressive response, but honestly? He should've known damned well what he did.
“Then why the ice-cold shoulder?” He tapped her shoulder and then hissed. “Brrrr. Arctic.” At this, she growled and he chuckled. “And she’s growling. I must’ve really fucked up.”
“Yup.”
“I’m a really perceptive guy, but I can’t read minds.”
Like an angry toddler, she squeezed her eyes shut and snapped, “I’m not helpless.”
“I know,” said Lance, tenor tones slightly higher in pitch with confusion.
“No, you don’t.” Her fists clenched around the bedsheets as bottled-up frustration rose in her throat.
“Of course, I do, what…?” Silence followed. “Oh, is this about today? At the lab? With what’s-his face, Buckley?”
“Well, d’uh,” she grumbled.
“He was being a dick and—”
“I had it under control! Just because I’m small doesn’t mean I can’t fight my own battles.” Lance, of all people should have known that.
His sigh was a low gust of sound in the small bedroom. “Pidge, look at me. Please.” His hand wrapped around her shoulder, giving it an affectionate squeeze and then he tugged, trying to pull her towards him.
She stiffened, angry but as usual the heat of anger cooled and soothed by the comfort of his touch. Muscles still tight in protest, she allowed him to disentangle her fists from the sheet and turn her about to face him. When he tried to take her hand, however, she made a fist, resisting.
His slim fingertips moved to her wrist instead and he gently massaged the bony intersection of wrist to hand. “You’re the strongest person, I know, Paloma.”
“Damned straight,” she gritted out.
Clever fingers sliding over the back of her hand, his index finger then tapped the gold band on her ring finger. “For better or worse. Right?”
She grunted.
“We’re a team. A team of two, now. We help each other.”
“Help. Not take over and make me look…weak.”
His fingers went back to massaging her wrist and arm. “I’m sorry,” he said after a minute. “Talk to me. How can I fix this?”
“I don’t need rescuing,” she said, though much of her anger had faded. It was impossible to stay mad at the infuriating man.
“I need to help. It’s my thing.” His other arm was wrapped around her back, holding her to his side. “How about we work out a signal? One where I ask if you need help, and you signal back ‘yes or no’?”
“That could work,” she conceded. He was hopelessly trapped in hero mode, even now, a decade removed from his tenure as a Paladin of Voltron. Truth was, so was she. Once a hero, always a hero.
“But, could you do me a favor?” he asked. “Maybe, once in a while, let me be the hero. For the sake of my fragile ego?”
She watched his lovely hand, slender brown fingers moving gracefully as they rubbed circles on her freckled knuckles. “Okay,” she agreed. “Next time there’s a spider in the bathroom, you have to catch it and put it outside.” Pidge was the usual rescuer and relocator of errant spiders.
“Spider!” Lance’s horror reverberated through his chest and into her body. “I meant something easy like, like slaying a Robeast with my bare hands.”
Fingers unclenching, Pidge wiggled her fingers like arachnid legs and plunged them, tickling, into his armpit, her previous anger totally forgotten in the duet of their laughter.

Just found out the voice actress for Pidge (Bex Taylor-Klaus) received harassment for making a post about enjoying Plance. wtfh?!?! For something as wholesome and inoffensive as Plance. Good god, she did not deserve that treatment. What is even so wrong with Plance, it's fucking cute, like marshmallow fluff and peanut butter.
Now I feel bad. They gave us such a nice series (if imperfect) and received that kind of treatment as thanks. What a horrible day to know how to read.

This . . . this might be my favorite thing I've ever written. Well, of the things I've posted online, that is. I just . . . the music and the fluff and the cultural and synesthesia undertones, and the trust, and the singing . . . I'm actually really happy with how this turned out, which is a little unusual. I'm not sure if it'll be quite as heartwarming for other people, but hopefully you'll enjoy it anyway.

Mid-youth crisis.
(Hi sorry it's been awhile! I'm back for the summer tho cause ya girl graduated uni with a 2:1 and is now a qualified zoologist woop woop!! But anyway here's some Plance drabble I've thrown together to celebrate💙💚)
There was a hurried knock against the metal, abruptly ripping Pidge from her sleep. She jolted upright at her desk, an undignified stream of saliva running across her cheek.
There was another bombardment of knocks, followed by a hushed voice "Pidge..."
The green paladin brushed the back of her hand against her cheek, padding rather unenthusiastically towards the door. Seconds later, it peeled back to reveal a rather distressed Lance, fidgeting on the spot.
"What are you doing here?"
"I need your help." the panic was evident in Lance's tone of voice. Pidge rolled a frown across her face, squinting away the sleep from her eyes.
"It's three in the morning, what could you possibly need help with?"
Lance relaxed his shoulders, holding out his hand. As his fingers uncurled, a small object came into view. It was a chunk of metal, several wires poking out of one end. Pidge blinked, then palming at one of her eyes.
"What's that?"
"It fell off Coran's holo-desk."
Pidge was in no way fooled by his voice. "It fell?"
Lance screwed up his face, and with a loud sigh met her gaze. "I may have helped it fall."
There was a deep exhale, Pidge pressing her fingers against her temple. "Lance..."
"What?! I was bored and I couldn't sleep. I didn't mean to and the next thing I knew it was-"
Pidge took the piece of metal from his hand, inspecting it thoroughly. Her bleary eyes made the task take longer than she intended, her gaze often flitting between the metal and a distressed Lance. An audible sigh left her lungs, shoulders drooping before Pidge handed the thing back to him.
"Okay, okay. I'll help you."
Lance leapt forward, a little further into Pidge's personal space than she would had preferred. This was mainly due to the fact it forced a heat to the tips of her ears, only worsened when he clasped his hand around hers.
"Thanks Pidge, I owe you one," his voice was flooded with relief, his brows upturned in a brief moment of content.
Pidge could do nothing but scowl at the Cuban boy, already wondering why she was going to help him and she hasn't even stepped out of her room. Something was clearly wrong with her.
Before Pidge could voice her regret, Lance pulled her out in to the corridor and in the direction of the castles centre. The brisk pace he was moving at didn't agree with Pidge's exhausted frame, her legs reluctantly padding along beneath her. If that wasn't enough, the exhaustion made the journey feel as if she had walked for a day.
By the time the pair finally found themselves in front of the door that concealed the holo-desk, Pidge was wide awake, though her eyes still stung from her interrupted sleep. The door pulled itself open as Pidge rubbed the final remnants of sleep from her eyes. Lance had been babbling about something whilst they had walked, but not a word of it had registered in her mind as she had been too focused on how she was going to make him suffer for this.
"And Coran told me it was possible to play monsters and mana on your own but I thought 'surely not'... So when I tried to find the single player mode I must have hit the wrong thing."
"Mhmm." Pidge hummed in reply, still not entirely listening to what he was saying.
Couldn't this have waited till tomorrow?
"And that happened." Lance added, pointing to the desk he now stood beside. His finger was aimed towards a small hole in the frame work, surprisingly no where near the buttons that controlled the settings.
"How on earth did you manage that?" Pidge's brows creased as she knelt down to inspect the damage. Lance couldn't tell if it was surprise or irritation that resided in her tone of voice, either way it probably wasn't good.
He copied Pidge's movements, kneeling beside her to peer into the small gap. "Can you fix it?"
Pidge wanted to answer him with a sarcastic quip, she really did.
Yet in that moment she had become horrendously aware of how close to her Lance was. His light breathing thundered in her ears, and the smell of his awful cologne occupied the space between them.
Had he always smelled this good?
Instead, all she could muster was an incredibly flustered nod, and an attempt to cover her now reddened cheeks. She couldn't let him see her like this.
"Could-could you er, fetch my tools whilst I assess the situation a little further?" The reluctancy of the words to leave her throat made the resulting sentence sound a little hoarse, but Pidge was praying Lance would put it down to her exhaustion.
"Sure. Where are they?"
Pidge coughed into her hand, a feeble attempt at steadying the growing quiver in her chest. "They're in the lab, second secure cupboard the the right. The password is Sputnik."
Lance scrunched up his nose, casting his glance sideways to raise a sceptical eyebrow at her. "Spud-what?"
Pidge's hands stopped their investigative poking at the protruding wires as her shoulders dropped, head swinging to look up at the blue paladin.
"Not spud. Sput. Sput-nik. It was the first artificial Earth satellite. It's pretty interesting actually I-"
"Pidge, as much as I'd love to hear about the potato satellite, I don't wanna get my ass handed to me by Coran tomorrow so I'm gonna go get your tools now," Lance announced as he got to his feet. Within a tick he was beside the door, sparing a quick glance over his shoulder back at the green paladin before disappearing down the corridor.
That particular green paladin now had a smirk accompanying the red hue on her face, rolling her shoulders with a grin.
"Worked like a charm." She sighed, leaning her head back onto her shoulders. Now she had some time to figure out what the hell was going on with her stomach. It felt like she'd ingested hoard if tiny butterflies. Was she coming down with something?
She's have to run some diagnostics in the infirmary tomorrow.
*****
Lance stared hard at the computer on the cupboard. The Altean technology often left him baffled and this was no exception. The screen in front of him, like many in the castle, was glowing blue and littered with a variety of illegible symbols. This particular piece of Altean technology he had only encountered once before whilst hanging out with Hunk in the Lab. It was now that he wished he had payed more attention to the devices. Lance felt his brows furrow.
"Computer?"
The screen changed in less than a tick, causing the Cuban boy to blink several times. After his eyes had adjusted to the lighter screen, Lance took a step closer. The new symbols looked vaguely like they were asking for a password. Perfect.
"Spudnik."
Nothing. No change in screen or sound to indicate the door was now unlocked. Lance's frown deepened, him even giving the handle a precautionary tug to see if it was in fact open.
Unfortunately not.
"Spud-nik," Lance repeated, this time with a little more determination in his voice.
Again, nothing.
It was now that Lance could feel the frustration beginning to grow at the base of his skull, an irritated sigh escaping his lungs.
"Stupid satellite." He grumbled under his breath, arms folding across his chest. "Spudnik." He said it a little louder. Again, nothing.
Lance swore under his breath, fingers now beginning to dig into his palms as he balled his fists. He filled his lungs to calm himself, before he felt an idea pop into his head.
He was going to attempt to reason with the thing.
“Listen here you dumb computer, you’d better open up now other wise I’m gonna be in deep shit. I’ve given you the password Pidge gave me so... yeah. Open please.” He pulled at the handle. Once. Twice. Three times. Each time, repeating the word Pidge had told him.
"Spudnik, Spudnik, Spudnik, Sputnik, Spu-"
Click.
***
"Where the hell have you been?! You've been gone 20 minutes." Pidge flung her head around at the sound of the door opening. In the doorway, stood the skinny figure of McClain, arms gasped around her toolbox.
"Your dumb password didn't work." He sighed, brows knitted together in an exhausted frown. He plodded over to Pidge's side, falling to his knees gracefully before placing the box down with an indignant clunk.
"You mean you didn't say it right." Pidge quipped, a small smirk on her lips as she returned to the whole in the holo-desk. Her right hand reached for her tools, flicking the lid opening and grasping a spanner without even sparing a glance.
"You're a cruel woman, Pidge Gunderson" Lance said with a sigh, sinking back onto his heels to sit by her side. His eyes scanned studiously as Pidge dug deeper into the desk.
Pidge gave a snort, and turned to smirk back at the blue paladin, "I prefer the term 'evil genius'".
A second after the words left Pidge's mouth, a larger section of the desk fell to the ground, the clang of it's impact reverberating throughout the room.
Silence.
Pidge's eyes had stayed locked on Lance's face, watching as his lips curled up into a smile, and then split as an almighty chuckle left his throat.
"Evil genius, my ass."
Pidge's eyebrows raised, the spanner she held now pointing up at Lance's face. "Watch it, McClain. I can still kick that ass."
"Prove it."
"Unfortunately, we don't have time... unless I let Coran do it for me in the morning"
"Hey! You made the hole bigger, you'd be in as much trouble as me!"
"You don't have any proof of that Cuban boy." She didn't even bother to look at him, mind preoccupied with the clump of wires that had fallen into her hands.
"Don't I?"
"Shut up and hold these for me."
"Bu-mrph-"
Pidge shoved the tangled mass onto Lance's chest, his arms frantically trying to stop them from falling out of his grasp. The green paladin snorted at his short struggle, before peering into the hole she had now created. A small blue light sat nestled in more wires in front of her.
This was going to take a while.
The next few moments were spent in easy silence, Lance watching intently as Pidge tried her best to repair that damage they had both caused. Once Pidge switched tools, Lance’s interest piqued, causing him to shuffle closer to her and lean over Pidge’s shoulder to get a better look. “What’s that?”
The question itself seemed innocent enough, but Lance’s quiet tone being so close to her ear made Pidge’s heart rate leap to an impossible speed. She cautiously turned her head to look him in the eye, but faltered as the heat spread across her cheeks. What little proximity there had been between them no longer existed.
Something they both noticed.
Lance shot back onto his heels, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck as he too adorned reddened cheeks. Pidge’s petite frame straightened at his movement, silently chewing on her bottom lip. All memory of his question had left her mind in an instant. The following ticks seemed to drag past, until Lance swallowed his pride and opened his mouth.
"Hey Pidge, can I ask you something?"
Pidge ignored the ache in her stomach, delving her hands into the gap. "Shoot."
Lance fiddled with the wires in his hands, the words lingering in the back of his throat. Inhaling, he shuffled on the spot. "Do you really think I'm just a goofball?"
At his words Pidge froze, and for a moment Lance believed he may have broken her. Another tick passed before Pidge spoke.
"Of course not, why would I?"
Lance sat forward on his knees, closing the gap between them again. "It's just... A while ago, you said that was 'my thing'... and I wasn't sure if you meant that was all I was good at or it's just how you see me. I can't help but think that's all Allura sees me as too and that's why she and Lot-" he stopped.
Pidge had turned to look at him, and in that second, he became transfixed. Her amber eyes seemed to pierce him. In the diffused glow from the hole in the holo-desk, she became almost ethereal. Something that was only strengthened by the sincere smile cracking on her lips.
"Lance, you're so much more than that." Pidge sighed, dropping her hands to her side. "You're kind, strong and an irreplaceable sharpshooter. You're selfless and talented, and if the princess can't see that then..." Pidge licked her lips in anticipation as she smiled. "Then you deserve to find someone who can."
Lance blinked, nodding slowly with his eyes holding Pidge's. His vacant expression produced a quiet giggle from the green paladin. When she chuckled at him, for the first time in weeks, Lance's heart fluttered.
An easy silence settled over their shoulders, the only remnants of sounds being their own heartbeats in their chests. Lance swallowed the lump in his throat,
"Thanks Pidge," he said softly, voice wavering for a moment. The smile on Pidge's face spread into a wide grin, her glance falling down to her hands as her blush deepened.
"You're welcome, Lance.” She went to turn back to her work but hesitated, a slight frown on her brow. “You know, you shouldn't doubt yourself like that... especially if it's because of something I said."
Lance gave a short chuckle, "Well you're so smart I figured you knew what you were talking about." He said with a shrug. Pidge shook her head lightly,
"What happened to ‘Evil Genius, my ass’?," she laughed, punching him gently in the shoulder. Lance rubbed his arm where Pidge’s fist had made contact, attempting to fight back the heat in his face as he laughed along with her. He held her gaze again, and inexplicably felt himself lean towards her. Pidge's eye widened tenfold, perfectly in sync with her heart faltering in her chest.
"I need to get my other tools," Pidge blurted hastily, getting to her feet. Lance shot backwards, utterly bewildered.
"I-er, Pidge wai-"
"I'll be right back," Pidge added factually, if not a little shaken.
"Are you really leaving me? Like this?" Lance pressed, lifting up his wire bound hands as he met her eye. Pidge stared blankly for a second. Not a a tick later she was smirking, and before Lance could comprehend what was happening, her lips were on his, leaving him breathless.
"What else could I do?" She said simply with a shrug, then turning sharply on her heels and disappearing out the door.

Plance ideas that make me very happy
•Lance flirting with Pidge in Spanish so she doesn’t hear the dirty jokes.
•Pidge thinking his Spanish accent is smooth and buttery.
•Lance calling her Katie when things get serious.
•Pidge enjoys being short enough to just face plant in Lance’s chest and cry.
•Lance testing out cheesy pick up lines in Pidge at first. They don’t work on her so Lance has to dig deeper. He makes a suave and gentlemanly approach with no cheesy pick up lines and he eventually cracks her.
•Shiro getting protective over Pidge because he’s her space dad.
•Matt getting protective over Pidge because he’s her brother.
•HUNK getting protective over Pidge because he’s her bestie.
•Lance having to force Pidge to stop video gaming for the night and sleep.
•Alternatively, Pidge having to force Lance to stop watching anime for the night and sleep.
•Both adoring dank memes. Their wedding song would have been “Never Gonna Give You Up” if Colleen hadn’t stepped in just in time.
•Hunk making their wedding cake.
•Coran actually marrying them.
•Keith is best man and Allura is maid of honor.
•Pidge not being a basic housewife and actually getting a career because why would she want to cook and clean all day? That’s too boring and sexist.
•Lance being okay with it and being like “Look at my wife! She’s a successful scientist! Suck it!”
•Pidge being nervous about being pregnant but doesn’t regret a thing once she sees the baby’s face. She may not be good with people but gosh dang it she’s going to be the best mom ever.
•Lance also being nervous about becoming a father but doesn’t regret a thing once he sees the baby’s face. He isn’t all that responsible but gosh dang it he’s going to be the best dad ever.
•All of their children clearly getting Lance’s genes and growing taller than Pidge early on.
•Lance slowly realizing that it’s not just outer beauty that counts. Yes, Allura is hot as a star and kind but Pidge is beautiful in her own right. Her mind is infinitely curious about the world around her.

Cuddling In a Chilly Cave - Plance Oneshot
"Okay, Allura. Looks like if we continue from here, it's a straight shot to earth." Pidge glanced up at her holographic screen, Allura nodding and pressing a few buttons on her control panel.
"Great, Pidge. Thanks." Allura's face disappeared and Pidge looked past it into space.
They had been traveling for over three quintants and Pidge was getting bored of the scenery. Without any planets, space was just black and empty. And without the castle, they were stuck in their lions with no way of worm-holing.
"So much for 'me time.'" Pidge sighed and rubbed her eyes tiredly.
When was the last time she slept? Maybe a quintant ago? Who knows.
Pidge leaned back against her chair and closed her eyes. If nothing interrupted her, maybe she could at least get a few vargas worth of sleep.
She had just barely crossed into the land of dreams when one of Green's alarms went off.
"Quiznack! What's going on, girl? Why aren't you responding to me?!" Pidge tugged on her controls, Green resisting her and speeding towards a nearby planet.
Lance's face suddenly appeared on Pidge's screen and he looked just as frantic as her. "Pidge! You're okay! What's going on?! I can't contact the others and Red isn't responding to me at all!"
"I have no idea, Lance! Green's sensors are spazzing out, but from what I can see, I think we've just hit some sort of invisible black-hole with a form of quintessence coming out of it."
"And you say her sensors are spazzing out."
"Hush up, Lance." Pidge snapped, warning signs flashing on every screen in her cockpit. "Um, Lance?"
"Still here," he responded, noting the glare she shot him afterwards.
"I think we're about to crash on this planet."
"'We?'"
"Look behind you."
Lance managed to turn Red's head around in time to see Green head-butt him, sending both lions sprawling into the planet's atmosphere.
Pidge could hear Lance grunt as he was thrown out of his chair on impact, and Pidge nearly smacked her face on her dashboard.
"Owww. You okay, Pidgey?" Lance asked, attempting to sit back in his chair.
"Yep. Just fine," Pidge replied sarcastically. She looked up at her screen, gasping almost immediately. "Lance, get ready for impact in T-minus 10 ticks!" Pidge yelled, bracing herself against the back of her chair.
Pidge screamed as Green impacted the icy surface of the planet, Lance shrieking as Red was thrown sideways into a snowdrift after bumping along the surface.
Green's lights flickered off, signaling she needed to recharge. "I'll come back when you're better, girl," Pidge whispered, exiting her lion.
Lance was already waiting for her outside, Pidge instantly shivering at the exposure to the cold temperature.
Lance chuckled, walking towards the short girl. "You cold?"
Pidge crossed her arms and glared at the boy. "No, I'm burning up. Of course I'm cold!"
Lance laughed again before glancing around at their surroundings. "I think Red picked up a snowstorm coming soon. We should find a cave and hide out until it passes. The lions would get pretty cold since they have no power."
Pidge nodded and looked around, her owl-eyes spotting a nearby cave. "There! Come on!" She grabbed Lance's hand and took off running towards the cave, the two of them struggling to walk through the taller snowdrifts.
"Remind me never to go to a cold-climate state when we get home," Pidge panted, leaning against the stone wall.
"Copy that, captain," Lance smirked, sitting next to her.
Pidge rolled her eyes and sat next to Lance, his body heat helping her warm up, not to mention her cheeks were heating up as well.
Lance shifted himself so he was closer to Pidge, her body radiating off a calming amount of heat.
Their amount of body heat was small, but if only they were closer then they would warm up faster.
Pidge looked at Lance, silently asking a question, him responding by taking off his chest plate and helmet and pulling Pidge closer to him. Pidge quickly removed her own helmet and chest plate, leaving them both in their black under-suits. The two hugged each other close, their body heat being shared between the two of them.
"How are you so warm, Lance?" Pidge muttered, eventually deciding to sit on Lance's lap.
"I dunno. Maybe I brought a little bit of Cuba's heat with me to space?" Lance chuckled, resting his chin on Pidge's head.
"If only this planet wasn't so cold then maybe I could try fixing up Green," Pidge sighed, leaning back against Lance's chest.
"If it weren't so cold, we wouldn't be cuddling in a cave in the middle of nowhere."
"True. But you don't think this is, I don't know, awkward??" Pidge tilted her head up to look at Lance.
"Not really, no. Just teammates helping each other out. Why? Are you embarrassed?" He ruffled her hair, Pidge giggling and slapping his hand away.
"A little bit, I guess," Pidge said truthfully. "Though I will say I'm glad it was you and not one of the other paladins that I got stuck with." She turned her body so her legs were on Lance's right, and wrapped an arm behind his neck.
Lance gasped dramatically, "So you do love me!"
"You could say that," Pidge began, "or I could do this." She leaned up towards Lance, wrapping both arms around his neck and kissing him firmly on the lips.
Lance kissed her back, pulling away with a smile on his face. "Love you too, Pidgeon."

Plance prompt for @february-erika (I figured y’all would just send asks but bless your soul for linking the song in the reblog)
“We’re made from the same dust Like stars from the same dusk “Don’t dive in, it’s dangerous” Hold on, here we go”
— Distraction, M1LDL1FE
It seems the advice is endless. “There’s someone out there for you”, “You just have to wait”, “You’re not looking hard enough.”
Ever since Lance could remember, he’d been bombarded with conflicting advice. It’s either that he has to keep looking or he has to stop trying so hard and just let love “happen” or whatever that means. There came a point where Lance became restless. If someone, anyone, could love him like that... even if it wasn’t perfect... it would be enough. So he tried.  He tried to find a connection, even the smallest one, everywhere he went. Maybe it did make him a bit of a flirt. Maybe it did make some of it seem disingenuous.
And then, somewhere along the line, he gave up. You could say things got too hectic with Voltron. Things got too dark. Other things became too thought-consuming. But the truth was he lost the hope all that advice gave him. He stopped thinking there was someone out there for him. He stopped thinking he was going to have that kind of happy ending.  It wasn’t until he was here, lying on his back under the stars. And she was there, sitting behind him just so, in a way that made the twinkling lights behind her look like a damn halo. And he began to think that maybe, just maybe, he had been looking too hard in all the wrong places. Maybe, just maybe, right behind him, right above him, was a girl who loved peanut butter and hated peanuts, who found it easier to befriend a robot than to befriend him, who fell asleep at the keyboard of a computer almost every night, who never stopped surprising him, and who just so happened to be the person.  Pidge looked down at him, her face now perfectly visible, glasses just hanging at the end of her nose, and asked, “What are you looking at? We’re supposed to be star-gazing, not Pidge-gazing.”
He reached a hand up to touch her cheek. Her face felt warm. “I think I’d rather be Pidge-gazing.”

Eye Opening
Relationship: Plance (Pidge x Lance)
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences (For slight makeout)
One-Shot
Word Count: 3192
Summary: A few months have passed since Team Voltron has had to destroy the Castle of Lions and now, they have to make a pit stop on planet Grijalva to stock up on supplies. Planet Grijalva has a population of aliens who can read the emotions of any living being and, unfortunately, Lance has had some powerful feelings after Keith revealed something Lance didn’t even know he had. This proves to be a little...problematic.
Lance sat in Red, running his hand through Kaltenecker's hair floof at the top of his head, "I don't think it's gonna happen, buddy."
Kaltenecker's just chewed on Lance-had-no-idea-what-because-there-isn't-any-food-on-his-lion. Lance continued though, "I mean, I've been there for her the whole time, yet she still chose Lotor."
Lance groaned and hit his head against the  back of his chair, "Feelings are so complicated. This is so stupid. Why am I moping over some girl?"
"I don't know, you tell me."
Lance jumped in his seat and looked wide-eyed at an amused Keith watching him from the screen.
Lance stammered before composing himself and asked/yelled, "How much of that did you hear?!"
"Just the last sentence," Keith assured, "We need to make a pit stop to stock up on food and supplies and Coran found a friendly planet just a lightyear away. Pidge already sent out the coordinates and the Lions are flying there right now. Just wanted to tell you."
Lance nodded.
Before Keith left, though, he asked, "What's this about moping about a girl?"
Lance shook his head, "It's nothing."
"It didn't seem like "nothing". You seemed pretty beat up about it," Keith said.
Lance just pouted.
"Is this about Allura?"
"What?!" Lance exclaimed, "Why would it be Allura?"
"You're right. Why would it be about Allura? It's not like you've been throwing yourself at her since we first arrived," Keith rolled his eyes.
Lance crossed his arms, "Forget it, Keith, you wouldn't understand."
"I would actually."
"I don't see how."
"I went through the same thing. Only, instead of rejecting me, she hated my guts for a few hours."
Lance froze and processed Keith's words and he asked hesitantly, "Hold on, you liked Allura?"
Keith shrugged and avoided his eyes, "Briefly. So did Shiro."
Lance nodded in understanding and let Keith continue, "We've all been through that Lance. Just talk to us if you need something. Even if it is weird."
"Definitely," Lance agreed.
"And," Keith added, "If you ever need to talk about Pidge, it's alright too."
"What about Pidge?"
"You know," Keith paused, "about your crush on her?"
Lance rose an eyebrow, "I don't have a crush on Pidge?"
"Really?" Keith asked.
Lance shook his head.
"Oh," Keith said, "I guess I read the signs wrong."
Lance rose an inquisitive brow, "What signs?"
Keith shrugged, "You know, the stolen gazes, the hovering, the invasion of personal space, your habit of borrowing her stuff, the teasing, the fond looks, and constantly talking about girls with her to get her jealous and then watching her reaction."
Lance gazed at him and Keith asked, "You don't see it?"
"The thing is," Lance drawled, "I see it now."
Keith sat in awkward silence as Lance personified the mesh of confusion and realization rolled up together, "Well, I'm just gonna go..."
Lance just sat in a daze. He never really thought about it that way. But now, it's so obvious.
He has been crushing on Pidge the whole time.
Lance whined and threw himself on Kaltenecker, "Now I really have it bad, girl. I like two girls way out of my league."
Kaltenecker moo-ed.
"I mean, Pidge is so smart. She never lets anyone doubt her and she is so strong and determined. She's pretty, too. And Allura is a princess, for crying out loud."
Kaltenecker nudged her head on to Lance's neck and Lance patted her head again.
"At least you're here. You're probably the only girl I love who actually notices me."
Kaltenecker moo-ed.
"Approaching planet Grijalva," Keith announced in the comms, "Remember, Coran said that they are a planet full of aliens who can read emotions. Keep your emotions in check and we'll be fine."
The Lions landed in a distant field and the paladins went out to town to meet with their leader.
Keith was leading the four, using the coordinates Pidge gave him. They were following a faint path that was completely covered by trees.
In the back, Hunk began rambling, "Hey, Keith, do you think they have chocolate? Their planet is pretty similar to Earth."
Keith shrugged, "I wouldn't know, Hunk, I've never been here before."
Hunk continued on, "Because that would be amazing. We will finally be able to make chocolate milkshakes, hot chocolate, chocolate fondue- oh, God, what if they have flour. I can finally make pancakes!"
"Hunk, budddy, pal, as much as I love your food rambles," Lance pointed to a frustrated Keith, "You're pissing Keith off."
Allura just rose an inquisitive brow, "What's a pancake?"
"Pidge are you sure these coordinates are correct?" Keith showed Pidge his map and she leaned over Lance to look at it.
She adjusted her glasses and narrowed her eyes, "Yeah, we're supposed to be in town-"
Suddenly, behind them, a giant creature took Lance's collar in its beak. The paladins screamed in surprise and took in the majestic creature.
It looked like a Griffin, half-lion and half-eagle, in neon colors.
Keith took out his blade and the rest of the team took out their Bayards. They charged, but by then the Griffin already flew away.
"No!" Pidge yelled and aimed her grappling hook. She fired.
The green grappling hook wound itself around the Griffin's tail and Pidge went flying with the Griffin.
Hunk grabbed on to the petite girl first and held down the Griffin for a second, long enough for Keith and Allura to climb up on the rope, before flying off too.
Keith and Allura made it to the back of the Griffin and pulled Hunk and Pidge in. The four caught their breath and they ran to the Griffin's shoulders and called out, "Lance! Are you alright?!"
"I'm fine, but look! I know why we didn't find the town!"
The team turned to where Lance easy pointing and they gasped when they saw a huge town on the canopy. Each house was carved into the thick blue trunks of the trees. Yellow lights emanated from inside and the pink leaves added a wonderful, warm tone to the town.
They would have enjoyed the view better if they weren't hanging on for their lives atop of a Griffin.
The Griffin circled the town before finding it's landing space. The Griffin landed on a platform and shook itself. It eventually shook out all the Paladins and they landed in a heap on the floor.
The Griffin peered down at them, Lance still hanging from its beak, and made its way to a big building in front of them. It placed Lance on the roof of said building and it squawked loudly.
The Paladins moved toward the building, but the Griffin looked down at them and squawked menacingly and they backed off.
"Lance!" Pidge yelled.
"I'm fine. Just...admiring the view as a Griffin takes me hostage."
Suddenly, the building's door opens and out came a humanoid-looking alien. It seemed to be female and had big, round eyes like an owl. She had webbed hands and her arms almost reached the ground.
She ran to the Griffin and cooed, "Hey, Brokaw. What you doing here?"
The Griffin cooed too and squawked and pointed its head to the Paladins. The alien stared wide-eyed at the Paladins and she approached them, "Oh, Paladins, you're here! Nice to finally meet you! My name's Crohji, Grijalva's Queen."
Keith extended his hand and gave a tight-lipped smile, "I'm Keith. It's an honor to be here, Crohji, but we do have a slight situation."
Crohji frowned and asked, "I sense frustration, is everything alright?"
"Well, your pet has taken one of our Paladins hostage," Allura explained with amusement in her voice.
Crohji turned around and gasped when she saw Lance on the roof. Lance let out a sheepish smile and waved, "Hi!"
Crohji sighed, "Brokaw, would you please explain yourself?"
The Griffin stood protectively in front of Lance and cawed multiple times as if it was actually speaking. Apparently, Crohji understood everything because she came back with a translation.
"Well, Paladins, as you may know, planet Grijalva and it's inhabitants have deep connections with emotion. Our guardian, Brokaw, is the first emotion reader. Her powers are strong and powerful. She felt the Red paladin is in great emotional distress-"
"WHAT? No I'm not!" Lance huffed, crossing his hand and his cheeks blushing in embarrassment.
Crohji ignored him, "and, as our guardian, it is her job to make him feel better. That is why everyone on planet Grijalva is so happy."
Allura stepped up, "Well, how can we help?"
"We will fix it in the traditional Grijalvian way. His friends and family will shower him with honest compliments, and we will know if they're honest, and then we will have a feast in his honor," Crohji clapped in excitement.
"You," she pointed to Keith, "you will go first. I sense a strong bond between you two. Tell him how you feel about your relationship."
"Well," Keith coughed into his hand, "this is getting awkward."
Lance nodded and blushed in embarassment, "Tell me about it."
"Uh," Keith scratched his neck and stepped up, "Well, you are an awesome pilot. The first time we met, you were absolutley horrible, but now, you've really gotten better. We all see it. Um, you're a great right-hand man too. You offer good strategies and you help me out in tough situations. You take leadership responsibly and you really are Paladin material. We need you, man."
Lance smiled ,"Thanks, Keith, that means a lot."
Crohji smiled and pointed to Hunk, "You. You also seem to be close with the red Paladin. Express yourself."
"Man, where to begin," Hunk pondered and stepped up, "You're the absolute, bestest friend a guy can ask for. You always try to break me out of my nervous shell and you know how to have fun. You're my best friend. Love you, bro."
Lance beamed a toothy smile, "Love you too, bro."
Crohji clapped, "Perfect! Now you!" She pointed to Allura, "he has strong feelings for you, Your Highness," Lance turned bet-red and Pidge pouted (though no one saw that), "Express yourself."
Allura fiddled with her hands and stepped up, "Um, I know how you feel about me, Lance, and I regret to say that I don't feel the same," Lance nodded solemnly and avoided eye contact, "You truly are an amazing guy. You are destined for great things. You have brought me up in my darkest moments. I owe you so much and you mean to me more than you realize."
Allura smiled and Lance smiled back, "Thank you, Princess."
Crohji squealed, "Wonderful! Now all we have left is you, young lady," she pointed at Pidge, "his feelings for you are stronger than for any other. It'll be your statement that will make a difference."
Lance smacked his head against the wooden roof.
Pidge was also blushing hard. She cleared her throat and stepped up to begin, "Well, Lance is probably the closest friends I have next to Hunk. He's always trying to help me break out of the shell I build against round me constantly. He proved all my bullies wrong. His hearty compliments and his jokes are what I look forward to. He's my best friend."
Pidge smiled up at Lance and he returned it. Thinking, it was done, Pidge was about to join the rest of the group before Crohji stopped her, "You are hiding something, Green Paladin."
Pidge stopped and turned around, her voice frustrated, "No I'm not!"
Crohji narrowed her eyes, "You're hiding how you truly feel out of fear."
Pidge glared and yelled, "No, I'm not!"
"If she doesn't want to say it, it's fine, Crohji!" Lance screamed from the top of the building.
The Griffin then squawked and took Lance in her beak again.
"What is she doing?" Keith yelled.
Crohji looked down at Pidge, "If you do not reveal how you feel, Brokaw will let your "best friend" fall from that branch."
The team looked up in horror to see the Griffin leave Lance at a branch, him grabbing onto the branch tightly with both hands.
"Are you insane?" Allura yelled.
Keith formed his Bayard's sword and placed it under Crohji's head, "Bring him down, right now!"
Crohji, calm as ever, warned, "If you hurt me, Brokaw will release your friend's grip and he will fall to his death."
Hunk looked up concerned at his struggling best friend, "Hold on, buddy, I'm coming!"
Hunk turned on his jet pack and he leaped up branch to branch, desperately trying you get to Lance before it's too late. Keith and Allura followed closely.
When Pidge tried to follow them, Crohji held her back with the help of two other Grijalvians.
Pidge struggled, "Let me go! I need to help!"
"You can," Crohji soothed, "You just need to reveal your true feelings."
Pidge roared, "Why are you doing this?!"
Crohji lamented, "I lost a loved one because I wouldn't reveal my true feelings. No one should go through that."
Pidge groaned, "This isn't the right way to do that!"
Crohji sighed, "Your friend is slipping he'll fall in five..."
Hunk is only about three branches away.
"...four..."
Lance is hanging on by one hand.
"...three..."
Keith and Allura are yelling at Pidge.
"...two..."
Lance tries to grab on with his other hand but he almost slipped. A tear falls down Pidge's cheek.
"...o-"
"I LOVE LANCE!"
Silence.
The Griffin appeared under Lance and he fell onto its back. His face in awe as he listened to Pidge.
"There..." she whispered defeatedly, "I said it. I am in love with Lance McClain."
Crohji smiled and was about to put a hand on Pidge's shoulder before Pidge shoved her hand away and spat, "I'm leaving."
The teen twirled in her heels and headed for the woods.
"Wait! We still have the feast!" Crohji called.
"I don't care!" Pidge yelled back.
Once the Griffin landed, Lance jumped off and ran after Pidge, "Pidge! Wait up!"
The paladins were going to follow, but then the Griffin held up a wing to stop them and she cawed.
"What did she say?" Allura asked.
"She said," Crohji gazed in the direction the two ran off to, "To give them privacy."
°•○●○•°
"Pidge! Piiidge! Pidgey? Pigeon! Where are you?" Lance called.
"Nowhere." Pidge deadpanned.
Lance followed the voice and found Pidge kicking the roots of a tree in anger.
"Hey, what did the tree ever do to you?"
"Lance, I don't want your pity. You didn't have to come after me." Pidge pouted and crossed her arms.
"You're right," Lance approached her, "I didn't have to... I needed to."
Pidge huffed and turned away, "Why are your showing me affection now."
"Well," Lance began, "After-"
"I won't be your rebound, Lance. I'm not any body's second choice," Pidge spat solemnly.
"Good thing you aren't mine, then." Lance got closer and Pidge backed up against a tree.
"What are you doing?" Pidge stammered, a blush coming up from Lance's intense gaze.
Lance placed his left forearm beside Pidge's head and his right hand cupped Pidge's jaw, "Something I should have done a long time ago."
Pidge bit her lip.
"Pidge, I never realized my feelings for you until Keith shoved them down my throat a few vargas ago. Our relationship was so fluid and easy, I never realized when our teasing became stronger. I never realized how much I treasured you. When you left to go find your brother, I thought the hole in me was me missing my best friend. I now realize that what we have is so much stronger. Keith opening my eyes to my crush on you was almost like Romeo. He was in love and heartbroken with Rosaline, but once he saw Juliet, everything faded away."
Lance smiled down at Pidge, "You're my Juliet, Pidge, just a smarter, badass version of her."
"Don't forget cooler." Pidge teased, her hands wrapping around Lance's neck.
Lance chuckled, "Definitely cooler."
Lance leaned in and asked, "Can I kiss you?"
Pidge nodded, "Yes."
Their kiss was like Hazel Grace falling asleep and falling in love: it was slow, then all at once.
The two were fairly inexperienced. The only kiss Lance had was with Jenny Shaybon and that was just a peck when he as fifteen. Pidge hasn't had a first kiss.
This was different. It was Pidge. It was so much better.
She pulled at his hair and he pulled her neck in closer so he can have a better grip and position.  Their lips were clumsy as they moved against each other.
They were short, fluid kisses that would last a second before they would separate and come back together like magnets.
Lance relaxed his hand and let himself smush Pidge, causing her to giggle as he did so. Her hands cupped his cheeks as he planted more short and frantic kisses, each sucking a bit on her lips.
Lance then shifted his head and started to kiss her jaw, but Pidge stopped him and placed a hand on his chest and pushed him away slightly.
Lance got the memo and immediately stopped, instead planting a kiss on Pidge's forehead and resting his forehead on hers, "Too much?"
Pidge nodded.
"No problem, Pigeon. We'll go at your pace."
Pidge smiled and placed another kiss on his lips, this one long and soft.
Their lips popped as they disconnected and the two let out a sigh. Pidge laid her head on his shoulder an Lance hugged her and breathed in her scent. Peanut butter.
"I can't believe it."
Lance smiled, "Can't believe what?"
Pidge moved away and smirked, "That you finally opened your eyes."
Lance laughed, "That I did," Pidge squeaked as Lance wrapped her in his arms and started kissing her cheeks, "But you're going to have to get used to it 'cause I'm never letting you go now."
When the two returned, their friends were waiting for them. Shiro, Romelle, Krolia, and Coran also came in to join in the feast.
Lance and Pidge materialised from the forest with joint hands and he lifted them up, announcing loudly, "I have found the love of my life!"
The Grijalvians cheered loudly, happy to help two people fix their emotional distress, and team Voltron clapped and smiled for their friends. Coran, Hunk, and Romelle teared up (well, Hunk and Coran actually cried).
Pidge was laughing and Lance took that as a cue to pick her up and twirl her in the air and then bring her down to kiss her soundly. Pidge's hands cupped his cheeks and she smiled in to the kiss.
Lance pulled away and carried her with one hand and faced the crowd and pumped a fist in the air, "Now let's eat some food!"
Pidge smiled and shook her head in amusement, "This is exactly how I imagined our getting together to be like."
Lance laughed and joined their foreheads. He then separated and ran to the table, Pidge bumping up and down in his arm, "Lance put me down!"
"Never!"

Pidge skated a tongue over Lance’s lower lip and muttered, “Is that coconut?
His breath hot against her mouth, he laughed softly. “Coconut lip balm. Like it?”
Her fingers wound around the hair at the nape of his neck and she pulled his mouth to hers. “Uh-huh.” They were on the little couch in the Atlas’ junior officers’ lounge, taking a small break from a long day of running through survey logs for this sector of the universe, searching for any trace of Honerva and her robeasts.
But two Paladins, in the throes of new love, left alone in a quiet corner of the Earth’s most advanced battleship, were like powerful magnets, unable to resist each other’s pull. She’d gone from sitting primly at his side, sipping coffee, to sitting on his lap and exploring the different ways that one could kiss someone. They were both wearing their Voltron Garrison uniforms, and she was finding that sitting on someone’s lap while wearing boots was light years from comfortable. This, however, was a small sacrifice in the service of science. Pidge, always the consummate researcher, was taking the study of Lance’s mouth very seriously.
“Oh, no,” said a voice behind them. “Get a room, you two. Or go make out in a Lion.”
Pidge squeaked in surprise and her teeth banged against Lance’s. Turning, she found Hunk standing in the lounge’s doorway, a coffee mug in hand and a surprisingly sour expression on the usually cheerful Paladin’s broad face.
“If I’m not stumbling over you two going at it, I’m tripping over Keith and Shiro.” His boots thumped on the floor as he went to the coffee machine and poured himself a hot cup of java. “It’s like Paladin mating season around here.”
“Somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed,” said Lance. “Go call Shay. That’ll make you less salty.”
Hunk’s face was structured for cheer and the gloom that lengthened his genial visage startled Pidge. Realizing she was still on Lance’s lap, not the best position to address a friend’s distress, she reseated herself on the couch beside him.
A little smile twitched her lips as Lance tugged at the bottom of his uniform’s shirt, covering his obvious arousal. A reminder that she needed to visit the Atlas’ infirmary for birth control. So far, they’d managed to restrain themselves from going that far, both hoping for a more romantic locale for their first time together, something other than a cramped bunk on the Atlas or a Lion’s cockpit.
Lance, ever the consummate romantic, had a plan. “My brother told me about a B&B in Matanzas, back home. The perfect romantic getaway.”
At the rate this war was going, she’d be eighty years old before it ended, though, so better to prepare in the event they lost control.
Lance’s arm looped around her shoulders and she snuggled against him, eyes on Hunk.
“What’s up, buddy?” asked Lance. “Trouble in paradise?”
“I just got off a vid-call with Shay,” Hunk said. “She says her grandmother is planning her…” Hunk reached to his head and fiddled with the ends of his yellowy-orange headband. “I can’t remember the word, but it’s a Balmeran coming-of-age ceremony. At the conclusion of this ceremony, she will be considered an official adult and able to be courted by eligible Balmeran males.”
“Well, there you go, pal,” said Lance. “That’s your opening. You can finally tell her how you feel and do some courting.”
Hunk’s face somehow lengthened even more. “Balmerans, guys. I’m not Balmeran.”
“That does present a problem,” agreed Pidge.
“No,” said Lance. “Love is love and you two are definitely into each other.”
Mouth set in a sad curve, Hunk stared at them with worry in his dark eyes. “But—”
“Nope,” Lance cut him off. “No ‘buts.’ Look at me. If I hadn’t made my move, it might have been James Griffin sitting here next to the prettiest girl genius in the universe.”
“What?” said Pidge. “James Griffin?”
“Yeah, him.” Lance shrugged. “He was always asking me, ‘Is Pidge seeing anyone?’”
“Get out!” Pidge smacked him on the leg. “How come you never told me?”
“Right. Like I’m going to tell you the competition is into you.” He pointed at her face. “And you don’t have to seem so thrilled to know this.”
Feeling mischievous, she smirked. “Well, he is cute and an MFE pilot.”
“I’m a Paladin of Voltron!” Lance’s voice squeaked at a frequency that probably made dogs howl. “That’s better than an MFE pilot. Tell her, Hunk. Tell her that’s better.”
Hunk held out his hands, palms out. “I, uh, this is getting messy. I need to bake something. Cooking therapy.” With that he sidled quickly out of the lounge.
Aside from the clomp of Hunk’s boot-heels on the floor, no sounds of nearby interrupting people could be heard, so Pidge turned and climbed back into Lance’s lap, only to find him staring sullenly at anything but her.
“What?” she said, setting her hands on his shoulders and giving him a firm shake.
“You were into James Griffin?”
She swept her gaze up and down the contours of his angular face, taking in every familiar detail, every line that made up his face, calculating, and coming to a strange conclusion, though she might be wrong. Her calculations regarding the human equation often were.
“You’re jealous of James Griffin.”
“‘Well, he is cute and an MFE pilot.’” Lance quoted, his voice pitched to match hers.
Her view of him shrank in her narrowed eyes. “Years,” she said, giving him a shove with both her hands. “For years I’ve watched you flirt with every girl who entered your radius.”
His mouth quirked in a nervous combination of frown and smile. “That was different. They were nobody. I didn’t know or respect them.”
He shrank to a thin band of brown skin and blue eyes as her gaze narrowed with more irritation. “You flirted with Allura. Endlessly. You went on a date with Allura.”
“I, erm.” He rubbed the back of his head. “I did. That date, Allura shooting down any romance between her and me, was one of the best things that ever happened to me.”
“Oh?” Really? Now? After months of showing real interest in her, calling her beautiful, now he was going to admit she was just a rebound, a second choice? Her heart lurched with disappointment.
“If I hadn’t gone on that date, I might not have acknowledged how I felt about you. If I hadn’t gone on that date, Allura wouldn’t have told me you loved me and I wouldn’t have had the courage to take a chance with a girl so out of my league.”
“She said what?”
Lance’s extremely mobile face moved from sweetly melancholic to entirely too smug. “She said you love me. That’s why you bought Allura a dress. Bartered a rare video game for it.”
“That was an awesome game.” Pidge sighed.
He reached to her face and gave her nose a little tweak. “When this is over, when we’re back on Earth, I’m going to find you a copy and we’re going to play it. Maybe at the B&B that Luis suggested.”
“I think,” said Pidge, running her fingers along his jawline from pointy chin to his ears, “we’ll be doing a lot more than playing video games.” And she got back to her comprehensive study of his lips.

Not Space Stars
Yes, hi, sorry, I just saw this and it was really cute and I thought, eh why not, so here it’s a sall fifteen minutes thing that was inspired by this post made by  @spaceiceraven
There’s a small quiet giggle behind him and Lance fights back the urge to turn around and kiss the mouth it came from.
He doesn’t move though, he keeps his eyes on the big glass in front of him, the only thing separating him from the vast of starts in the current galaxy they are staying at, and he doesn’t fight the smile the grows on his face when a small silhouette appears behind him on the glass’ reflection.
Lance waits, allowing his new companion do make the first move and his smile widens when he feels a small pair of arms surrounding his waist.
“Sneak attack!” Pidge shouts, squeezing his tummy tight and burying her head on his back as she laughs, “Bet you didn't’ see that one coming, huh?”
Lance snorts, tugging her wrist to make her let go before pulling her next to him, throwing his arm around her shoulders. “I sure didn’t, not at all.”
Pidge narrows her eyes before she pouts and whines. “Dang it, I could have sworn you were oh so mesmerized by the stars that you wouldn’t notice this time.”
“Surprise then,” Lance jokes, poking her on the cheek playfully and laughing when she slaps his finger away.
“Blah, blah!” she says mockingly before she nuzzles deeper into his side, “No, but really, you looked like you were enjoying yourself. I didn’t know you were so entranced by them; do you really love them that much?”
Lance hums, tilting his head to the side as he looks down at his girlfriend. “Which ones? The ones in space?”
Pidge snorts, shaking her head in amusement. “Are there any others, doofus?”
“Well, yeah! One of them is standing right next to me,” Lance says softly, eyes turning fond as Pidge’s cheeks are covered in a deep  red blush, “it’s one of my favorites and the most beautiful one.”
“Stooop,” Pidge whines, dropping her head against his chest and burying herself deeper into their embrace, “God, you are so embarrassing.”
“Uh, no, excuse me, I’m just honest,” Lance replies casually, shrugging his shoulders as his arms encircles Pidge’s back automatically.
“Well then!” Pidge exclaims, pushing her face back to stare right into her boyfriend’s eyes, her own shining with determination and fondness, “If I’m a star then you are too! You are my sun, the biggest star out there that always lights up my day.”
Lance’s heart skips a beat and he swears he has ascended to heaven. He groans in defeat, mumbling about when the heck did his girlfriend got so damn smooth with her words before pulling her closer and hugging him tight.
“You’re going to be the death of my, Katie Holt,” he mumbles, burying his face on her wild blonde hair, not even trying to fight the smile on his lips, “but I’m loving every second just as much as I love you.”
He drops a kiss on top of her head and his chest turns warm when her only reaction is to tighten her hold around him and nuzzling her face closer to his chest.
“The death of me, I swear.”

Voltron Wingfic AU where everyone has wings similar to that of real birds and are able to bring them in and out of their body (although it’s uncomfortable and maybe painful). Lance hasn’t shown the team his wings yet until one mission where he was the only one who could save Pidge from dying, revealing that he was born with bat wings instead of bird wings.
People also inherited certain traits and habits of their birds, Lance can comfortably sleep upside down, use echolocation, fly in multiple directions, is able to eat a shit ton, and can fly solely using muscles with no air.
Upon learning about his wings they also learn many things about him, one of them being how he has the habit of licking the fur on his wings to groom them and that he’s been under feeding himself :0 this could be both an angst and fluff fic ^-^

Plance Headcanon #42
What if the Voltron crew stopped on the moon before heading out on their next mission?
Keith: *gets out of his lion and lands on the moon* Mr. Holt told us to stop on the moon to get some samples before going to the next galaxy. Let's get this done quickly, okay?
Everyone: *gets out of their lions as well, and lands on the moon* Right!
Pidge: *starts bouncing away with everyone else, but then sees Lance not moving* Lance?
Lance: *staring at the Earth and doesn't hear Pidge*
Pidge: *leaps over to Lance* Lance? Is something wrong?
Lance: *finally hears Pidge and sheepishly smiles at her* Oh! Sorry about that. I kind of spaced out for a second. *focuses on the Earth again* I was just admiring the Earth from here, that's all.
Pidge: *looks over at the Earth too, and nods* Oh, okay! I can see why you would look at it right now.
Lance: Yeah. We've admired the moon from Earth so many times; it's nice to appreciate the Earth from the moon for once.
Pidge: You've got a point. The Earth looks really pretty from here.
Lance: You know, *smirks a bit in a flirty manner and stares at Pidge* You look really pretty from where I'm at too.
Pidge: *blushes a bit and shakes her head playfully* Whatever you say, sharpshooter. *smiles at him and takes a hold of his hand* Let's go help the others.
Lance: *smile softens a bit* I'm right behind you.
