As someone who’s been reading the book since she was a 10-year-old kid I’m really fucking excited to finally get the adaptation we deserve, but I’m also really disheartened because I have no faith in Disney doing right and casting a brown boy for Percy, and like that’s the only part of the original series I wish that was better described because like there’s no doubt in my mind that Riordan purposely dropped so many hints that he isn’t white.

I wonder... has anyone ever looked at Percy's anger and choices under the lense of ADHD and not the fact that hes the son of a 'temperamental god' or whatever? Like that anger that's shown is very relatable as a person w adhd and I really do wonder like has anyone ever analyzed this aspect of the story. And I'm sure this also applies to other demigods as well since they also have adhd, and how annabeth deals w her adhd differently than percy? What about young nico, hyperfocusing on the mythomonsters stuff? Its just like... theres so much here about adhd and the different aspects of adhd that I wonder if it was done on purpose or if it's more of me looking into a character with adhd and overanalyzing the aspects of the books and characters?

so at the Girls Inc. where i work we try not to use the words ‘cute’ or ‘adorable’ as descriptors of the girls (instead using words like ‘superstar’ or ‘strong’ or ‘great at [thing]’) because it’s part of the whole basic feminist framework anyway this guy i was orienting as a volunteer had been told that and he interacted with this five-year-old on his tour and said ‘omg you’re so adorable!��� to her and i nudged him and he cleared his throat and said ‘um i mean young lady you are one major fucking badass’ and then he choked and i was.

very excited for the live action pjo trio (they are precious, like they have the exact energy from what i read *weeps*) but also im too attached to black haired percy for me to enjoy any other hair color percy right now ;-; it's not a deal breaker but im gonna need a few episodes or maybe a whole season to get used to it, if ever black haired percy doesn't happen.
