unpopular riordanverse opinions part 2

this isn’t that unpopular but i hate octavian. a lot of people say that he had potential, and i completely understand him wanting to burn down the greeks, (rivalry and all dat) but he was manipulative and went right against reyna’s instructions. i personally don’t think nico and will should have done anything to stop him from killing himself. 

leo and frank treated each other pretty badly. like i get that frank was jealous but come on. get it together guys.

FRANK AND HAZEL’S RELATIONSHIP WAS WEIRD. hazel’s crush on frank makes sense, hes older, strong, and kind, and she probably idolizes him. but his is weird. it’s like an 8th grader dating a high school junior. that’s weird. it would have taken no effort on rick’s part to make her a couple years older. 

i think that the hunters of artemis could go either way on relationships. like some people think that they were all lesbians, and some think that they were ace/aro, and i don’t really have an opinion on it. in the series, they are definitely portrayed as ace/aro, but ithink it could go either way. 

the persassy and dam jokes get a little old. mostly the persassy ones. 

nico and percy aren’t that close of friends. they’ve known each other the longest, but i don’t see them having this like spectacular bond.

another thing about percy, the “not your type jokes” are wildly inaccurate. in no universe would percy ever tease nico about that. give percy some respect.

i don’t think leo is underrated or overrated, like i think he’s appreciated enough.

i think pipabeth is a ship that could definitely work. they had chemistry, they were at least friends. if i didn’t ship percabeth so hard then i would definitely ship them.

"Chiron please I haven't been outside the border in years" I pleaded

"Ms.(l/n) I would advise you to not ask again for it is being quite the annoyance to me and if you don't stop I will be forced to give you kitchen duty" Chiron bargained. At this point I will never see the outside world again and die. Yes die, I will die of boredom. I’ve been inside the camps borders for 2 years without a quest and my friend Nico has because of his stupid shadow travel (well we aren't necessarily friends more like acquaintances but you know same difference).

"Fine" With that I left off to cabin 3 to complain and mourn over the fact that once again for another year I will be trapped here to my amazing brother who basically gets to leave almost all the time because he's sent on a quest literally every single year but listens to my sobbing story every time the one and only Percy Jackson.There I see a very busy Annabeth chase (his girlfriend) and a bored out of his mind Percy.Taking him out of his misery I begin my sad and depressing story.

"Brother!" I yell flopping onto my bunk

"Yes?" He replies "Chiron denied my request again" "You know (y/n) it really isn't that bad staying inside camp borders and not dying" ‘I haven’t been out since I got here’ I thought but okay.

 "He's kinda right you know" Annabeth added "I used to feel just as trapped as you and then Percy came along-"

"Ah no I ship it and all but I don't want to hear how you guys got together and lived happily ever after I'm having problems with my love life as well" I interrupt. Too many thoughts in my head so before they continue lecturing me I leave my cabin and I would normally go to Leo but he has a project and won't pay attention to a thing I'm saying so why bother. Instead I go to another person who would listen Hazel Levesque who happens to be the guy I likes�� sister. Luckily she was in Camp with Frank today that made it was easier than IM'ing her."Hey Hazel" I say

"Hello (y/n)" Hazel replies "Can I talk to you about a problem i’m having right now?" I ask "Um okay sure" she responds pursing my lips. And then I tell her about how I've been stuck in this camp for years and its been forever since I've had a quest since I'm pretty much the forgotten sister of the Poseidon cabin."Well I'm sure Chiron has his reasons for not letting you go" She said trying to convince me."Yeah I guess well it's time for lunch I'll see you later Hazel" Later that day Percy told me chiron was asking to see me at the big house, I was hoping it was because he considered my request and when I got there my hopes kind of faltered.Standing there was Nico Di  Angelo with the same monotone expression with Hazel."Hey (y/n) you made it" Hazel exclaimed and hugged me "I mean I was kinda hoping that Chiron might've considered my request but apparently not" "Oh actually you see I talked to him and at first he said no but Nico volunteered to take you wherever you want as long as your back before the harpys come out said by chiron" "oh my gods really!" I yelled jumping up and down hugging her I was so excited that I jumped/hugged Nico "oh my gods I am so sorry I-" he cut me off "it's fine" he said gently pulling me of him"we got to go if you want to go to all the places outside camp and make it in time to not die" he said As he took my hand I saw a small  blush on his cheeks and a spark when he held it sinking into the darkness.

"Holy Hera there are so many books here I think I found my new love"  I exclaimed"out of all the places you had to choose you chose a book store" he deadpanned"Its not just a bookstore its Barnes and nobles, my Elysium"basically the whole time here at barnes and nobles nico was trudging around following me around the place until I decided to get a book called the divergent when we were at the counter to pay my dumbass self forgot to bring my American/ real world money."don't worry I'll pay" Nico offered"no don't you don't have to" I said grabbing his wrist so he wouldn't pull out his wallet."S'okay I want to" and he gave me a look which is the just-do-what-I-say look After he payed he grabbed my hand and we left heading outside to the streets,"You didn't have to pay for the book you know I could've lived without the book, well I couldn't but I actually co-""Listen I payed for the book because I wanted to end of discussion besides maybe I'd like to read it sometime so it would benefit for the both of us""Yeah but you already had to shadow travel here when you didn't have to you could've been doing something else""Trust me when I tell you I had nothing important to attend to" I glanced at him and he stared right back "you know what fine if you want to know why I didn't mind paying for the book or taking you out of camp is because I don't know what I'd do if you would've gotten hurt out of camp or much worse like get killed by a monster I wouldn't be able to live with myself if another person I-""you know what fuck it" he pulled me to him until our lips touched and moved in sync, but just as soon as it started it had to end."I wouldn't be able to live with myself if another person I love died and besides I like seeing your beautiful smile"

Slipping his hand into mine he grumbled about me using his own words against him and me not caring ;continued sensing death and in its depressing scent was making me understand why my Thanatos had decided to send me here.

Making it to the destination which was surprisingly not that far from the underworld I saw 3 demigods or um 2 demigods the third one ,on the floor bleeding out from a a huge gash,but not only that but the 3rd demigod was around 5-6 years old.

The other 2 demigods mourning over the fact that the little one was dying. It made sense too take him out of his misery and saddened by the fact that I needed to use my powers but at the moment I stepped up to the male demigod who looked around nico and I's age,Took out his celestial bronze sword trying to act brave and pointed it at Nico and I.\

"Who are you?" He questioned forcefully, Nico slowly took out his sword and in a firm voice said "Drop it"

"What do you want from us, are you another monster?"

"Relax were here to help" I reasoned

"Dont trust them Brandon they might be monsters" The girl who looked a year younger said

"We arent monsters relax were demigods and if you let us help the kid we'll take you to a safe place and the kid would a have a peaceful and painless death, trust us it seemed like you cared for him and if you did you'll let us help" I bargained.

"Fine but if you hurt him anymore than he is i'll kill you"Brandon threatened

Rushing over to the kid I tried to sooth him "Hey little one whats your name"

"J-jason, w-whats yours"

I gasped quietly " My names (y/n),I have a friend with the same name and you know what"

"w-what"

"Hes a hero just like you-" I started just to be cut off by Nico "hey (l/n) hurry up with whatever you need to do, his life force is weakening and he's dying bleeding out more"

"Will you chill out im trying to make him die peacefully and calmly without him thinking hes dying no matter how obvious it is, its a complex process besides its my first time so it would work alot better without being rushed"

"What!" yelled the girl "your telling me its your first time whatever it is your doing to my cousin!"

"Yes it is but nothing negative will come out of it if something goes wrong it'll just speed up death what im doing now is distracting him so the wound cant hurt anymore so he can move on to the next stage without any pain..its an illusion princess nothing is gonna happen any worse than him dying which will happen either way so your gonna have to learn to trust me"

"well I dont and if you-"

"you seem pretty confident of those threats you keep on giving out for an inexperienced demigod who wasnt even able to protect her own baby cousin from a hell hound"

"Ive been in more than 5 fights I think I should be pretty confident " she tried to snare not imtimidating kind of embarrassing really.

"yeah well ive known people who been through 10 times more and worse fights than you so if you'd shut up that'd be great because im trying to calmly set Jason to a nice long sleep"

After setting Jason on his way to Elysium Nico decided we should camp out in the woods for a night and head to camp tomorrow.

I sat next to Brandon and saw him poking the fire wood with a stick.

"Hi" I said trying to make conversation

"Hey" he replied with no emotion

"Look im sorry about what happened with jason he seemed like a sweet kid"

"He was and he was my brother also"

"oh I-I I didnt know im sorry I blamed your cousin on his death I-"

"It's fine I- Can I hug you?" he asked

"Sure I guess" and he embraced me after a few seconds I could feel a something wet one my shoulder and realized he was crying, I tried my best to comfort him there were so many deaths as a demigod and that just causes pain to people I honestly dont think Brandon deserved to have his little brother to die.

I'm not sure about the other girl but after 5 minutes of him crying Nico came out of the woods heading our way.

"(y/n) I need to talk to you"

"okay" I excused myself from brandon and followed nico to a tree not far from the camp we set up

"We need to leave this place as soon as possible tomorrow"

"Why?"

"Monsters there are 4 demigods out here im positive their gonna to smell our scent"

"Got it,we leave at at sunrise somewhat easy to shadow travel safe enough to fight monsters if they come at us" I replied turning to go back until he grabbed my wrist

I glanced at his hand on my wrist and back at him

"What?" I asked annoyed

"Why was brandon hugging you for so long?"

"Why do you care?"

"I dont but you have a job to protect me and I snuck out of this place like twice to get tents"

"His brother died what do you expect, besides I dont care to protect you and you didnt care either so why do you suddenly care"

"Because I know my father would punish you if you dont and as much as I dont like you I wouldnt like my dad punishing you or anybody else"

"well thats my problem not yours so bye" I said turning away again until he spun me around again

"So your gonna head back to Brandon now"he asked

"That shouldnt matter to you, you dont own me"I said about to head back once again until he pulled me back and kissed me.

"It does and I do now" he said when he pulled back

I pushed him away then I slapped him, and then pulled him by the collar and kissed him passionately.our lips moving in sync and then oxygen ruining everything because the human need of it we pulled away.

"I-uh got to go" I said

"whoa where do you think your going, you cant just shove,slap then kiss your boyfriend and leave me out here alone especially with your job and all"he said jokingly at least i hoped

"oh so im your girlfriend now, didnt know ghost kings had feelings"I smirked

"whatever "he lightly pushed me

What if Rick had died before writing the ending of BoO? We'd never know what happened. We wouldn't know that Leo died & came back to life, or that Nico AcTUALLY told Percy that he had a crush on him and that percy was NOT HIS TYPE. AND THAT'S JUST IF IT WAS PUBLISHED. Or what if he finished it except the chapter where Leo came back to life & it was published.
