On the way to visit mum today we stopped in at @bassine_specialty_cheeses so Jenny could meet up with Zoe Maremma and Maggie the two gorgeous girls who look after Glen, Kaye and the property! Thanks Glen for taking time out so Jenny could meet the dogs! We got to Cowes and Jenny was excited as we drove into Banfields! She loved greeting the residents in the lounge room then moved quickly through to Mum! Here she lay down and slept at one stage barking a little at something? We then went for a coffee at Pino’s, sorry we missed you today Rosa! I’m never quick enough with the camera as I could have had a beauty with Jenny sitting on the X marks the spot at Banfields Reception! Smart dog can read! We drove to Rhyll and parked so mum could watch the black swans, seagulls and a pelican that swam by! All in all a lovely day and mum was fantastic! I love how she stays minding mum when I leave to get the car! My brother Roberto and I drove to the Island yesterday and I picked a bunch of my French roses with lavender and mock orange flowers! We walked mum down to Pino’s for a late snack! Roberto set up a face time with his son and daughter in law and their new baby boy! Mum had fun interacting and seeing her newest great grandson with the teddy she knitted! Visited Miss Linda today and she was easily tempted to go for a coffee at Pino’s! She even ordered some arancini balls with her cappuccino and managed to eat one! We sat outside with the warmth of the glorious May sunshine. Dear Rosa came to say hello and we then left for a quick drive around the foreshore and along to Ventnor before driving her back to the nursing home! I took Jenny with me to the Island today to visit Mum! Mum was the best I’d seen her for a while! She ate 1/2 a egg and lettuce sandwich and polished off a glass of Kombucha Elderberry & Lemon drink! We walked through the gardens and then out the front and down to Thompson Ave! On the way through the home Jenny stopped and greeted the residents who enjoyed patting her soft fur! She was very gentle with them! On the way home we stopped over the bridge at San Remo where we walked down to check the view of the bay! Walking back to the car we stopped to chat with a lovely young family who were waiting for a taxi to drive them to the Island. Poor things, they had waited over an hour as their car had broken! I offered to take them but the taxi arrived as I spoke! after! Jenny was so gentle with the two young children! We said goodbye and off we drove home! Stopped at Pinos to say hi to Rosa but I just missed her! Part two of our Thelma and Louise escape! Mum enjoyed the road trip very much as we continued to The Nobbies to take in the glorious coastal vista! More Cape Barren Geese with older babies and plenty of sea eagles 🦅 soaring across the cliffs! We then headed back to Cowes via the Cemetery for a quick visit to dad’s grave and a toilet stop! Then down to Pino’s to drop in some of Ma’s teddies to Rosa! Thank you Rosa yet again for your warmth and kindness! Again we sat in the car and Rosa brought us coffee for Ma, a rosé for me and some garlic bread! We tucked in then said our goodbyes till next time! Make sure when you’re in Cowes drop in to Pino’s for the best of Italian food and warm hospitality! Rosa, Romina and all the crew are beautiful people! It was time to say au revoir to Ma as I dropped her back to Banfields! What a beautiful day for a drive out to The Nobbies, Phillip Island! I picked up Mum from the nursing home and we drove to The Nobbies, found a good vantage point to take in the stunning views and enjoyed a picnic lunch in the car! It was very windy but fabulous blue skies and seas! The Cape Barren Geese we’re enjoying the sunshine, many with chicks out for a stroll! Sea eagles flew high over the cliffs and for a moment in time we forgot the troubles of our world! Mum proudly wore her Western Bulldogs scarf and sent her wishes to the team! Wouldn’t it be wonderful for this 100year old living legend to see a second GF in her lifetime!
