Stats analysis of TianLiu Fics on AO3 (as of 20 April 2024) Part 1/5

I started by putting all fics under the Tianlang-Jun/Liu Qingge tag into a spreadsheet, documenting author, rating, ship type, words, chapters, comments, bookmarks, kudos, and hits. From this I made charts with the average and standard deviation, and analyzed each of their z-scores. I focused mainly on @acenor’s works. Then, I looked at any outliers, their reasons, and correlation between word count and all the other stats. There is also a graph on Explicit Vs Non-Explicit Hits and Kudos count graph.

I started by graphing word count and its standard deviation. 

Then, I looked at the data, any outliers, and the z-scores of acenor’s works.

Most of @acernor’s works had normal z-scores here. They were actually on the lower range for the most part. There was an outlier, with 45,758 words. This fic is End Racism on the OTW - The Reluctant Suitor, by raitala. I am not able to reach them, and so there is no clear reason why. My hypothesis is that since it is a fic related to pushing against racism by OTW though, it may have been more dedicated/had more fans. Still not sure, feel free to share your thoughts!

Next up: Chapters

Once again, @acernor was focused on. They had normal, mainly low scores. This is probably because the works are mainly oneshots. There was an outlier, something precious to hold on by demi_loves_flamingo. This is due to them being thread fics, so there are many in one work.

Again, there were outliers by the main suspects: raitala and acernor. Loyalty, by acernor, had 401 comments, resulting in a score of 3.96. It got reposted by the right people, and the author is rather popular, which could have led to its large stats.

So, for those of you who don't know... I am complete and utter trash for Detroit: Become Human, and ALL ABOARD that HankCon train. Like, CHOO CHOO MOTHERFUCKER. The ship is just so damn wholesome, I cannot. This is my piece for the 2019 HankCon Big Bang event!!

My partner, PillowLord, wrote a very charming Star Wars AU fic entitled "I was stained by a role" ] in which Connor is a Jedi, Hank is a Mandolorian, and Cole is a Force-Sensitive. My favorite part of the fic was Connor teaching Cole (and Hank) to meditate. I found it so sweet and domestic, it was the clear choice for what I wanted to draw for the event. Specifically, I wanted to focus on how Connor and Cole are both such naturals, but as hard as he tries, his form is honestly just terrible. It isn't a part of the story, but definitely what I was imagining, as I read.

I also created Connor's Jedi Robes from scratch, and am very proud of the way they came out. While the costuming is different, I really wanted to keep the colour scheme ratios fairly similar ratio, and I was sure to slip in a small nod to the triangle cyberlife iconography, and threw a few others hints around the image (Hank's love of plants, and the rug's themed after my favorite of his shirts). The fic itself is very fun, and I really do suggest giving it a read if HankCon is your thing. I had a blast working on my piece for the event! Hope you all enjoy.
