How far would you go to save the one you love?

I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of collaborating with the amazing, talented, insane @nothinggathers for the DBH Reverse Big Bang 2024 @dbh-bb. This is a project that's been marinating in my head for a while featuring an initially machine!Connor leaping through different universes to try and save Hank, and deviating over the course of his journey as he grows more desperate to save him, develops a sense of connection with his own people and identity, and — of course — falls in love. It's been months of blood, sweat, tears, and lots of screaming, and there will be several more of the same, because this monster of a collab is reaching well over 150k words (Atro, I love you).

Hancon / hankcon whatever you call it, just anything related sexually between Connor and Hank is disgusting, and please hear me out. I mean he's literally his son? Well maybe not literally, but seriously, when Connor has his "heart" ripped out he calls for Hank and meanwhile he says what? "I got you son.. I got you" I mean come on?? After Cole died, Hank started seeing Connor like his son. Connor REMINDS HANK of COLE. Like c'mon, Cole is a child and Hank sees Cole in Connor.

The greatest bullshit in this fandom

I am tired of people saying Connor looks like Cole. So lets break this stupid theory.

Firs of all, here's Cole's image right on the website it was taken from

You can see it is just a random stock picture.

So

1. Objective Comparison of Their Appearance

👉 They have different facial features, different hair texture, and possibly different skin tones.

2. Why Do People Say They Look Alike?

Hair color – Both have dark hair, but that’s a very weak basis for comparison.

Cole’s photo is blurry, making his features look generic and easy to misinterpret.

Fan theories distort facts – People want to believe in a connection, so they see similarities where none exist. But if you put their photos side by side, the resemblance is too weak to claim that one looks like the other.

3. The Developers Have Never Confirmed Any Similarity

If this theory were intentional, the game would have hints or comments about it—but there are none.

No developer interviews or game design documents mention that the RK800 model was based on Cole’s appearance.

If CyberLife truly wanted to manipulate Hank’s emotions, they would have made the resemblance far more obvious.

Conclusion: Connor and Cole do not look alike.

🔥 Cole is just a child with dark hair. 🔥 Connor is a standard android with a model-like appearance, designed for the mass market. 🔥 The theory of intentional/not intentional resemblance is purely fanon and has no evidence.

👉 If someone insists they look alike, I'll just need to ask: "Based on what? Hair color?" Because there are simply no objective arguments😊

If CyberLife truly wanted to manipulate Hank’s emotions

it doesn't make sense either.

Because

CyberLife was not interested in some random cop. Cole Anderson died in 2035, six years before the RK800 model (Connor) was released. At that time, Hank was just another police officer, with no particular importance to CyberLife. CyberLife is a large corporation developing androids for the global market, not for the purpose of "manipulating" a single detective.

CyberLife uses standard models and does not use specific people's appearances. The RK800 has other copies. If CyberLife had actually customized his appearance to match Hank's past, it would have been far too suspicious.

If CyberLife wanted to manipulate Hank, they would have had more logical methods. For example, they could have chosen a more friendly and less mechanical personality for Connor. Or they could have given Hank an android with a personal backstory that would have emotionally affected him. But choosing an appearance based on a child who died six years ago? That’s absurd and inefficient.

Conclusion: The theory doesn't hold up.

Connor resembles Cole only in fan theories, but in canon, there is no evidence that CyberLife specifically designed his appearance to manipulate Hank.

🔥 Most importantly, this wouldn't make sense in terms of timeline, corporate goals, or the effectiveness of such a manipulation strategy.

I wanted to do something soft with Cole 🥹 Also it's my first time drawing him ! And I had to put him in some Jurassic Park pjs and to give him a Blåhaj~

I don't know if it's been said before but I think I just realised something about Hank.

You know how every time Connor comes back if he is destroyed and when questioned about it, he says it's not a big deal and that pisses Hank off?

Well, Hank is angry about it cause death is a big deal. His son is gone and is never coming back. Death hurts. Hank knows this better than anyone and then he has someone who, depending on the gameplay, constantly dies and comes back like "what's the big deal?"

It's a huge deal, especially to someone like Hank who has dealt with it and its consequences firsthand so to have someone die, come back and then make it clear that death is nothing to them would hurt.

Hank has said it before that Connor dying and coming back reminded him of Cole. But humans don't come back. Androids 9/10 have the luxury to come back.

They can have the absolute worst happen to them but then come back like "tada" and they don't understand the emotional turmoil it can cause because they just come back.

There's no fear, no goodbyes not grieving.

Connor comes back like "why are you emotional about it?" but Hank has all the reasons in the world to be very emotional about it.

Something that is little talked about is that Hank definitely moved away after Cole's death.

I imagine he had a two-story house, with a big, beautiful yard where Cole and a Sumo puppy played. There were trees everywhere and a treehouse that Hank built him when Cole was four years old. There were colorful swings that Hank painted in the summer, a beautiful bicycle he gave her for Christmas, and toy cars all over the yard. There was an inflatable pool that Sumo chewed on and water sprinklers where Cole splashed around. A beautiful room full of toys and walls covered in colored crayons. Shelves full of children's books and toy airplanes suspended in the air.

The house is big and old, the wood creaks and the hinges hiss at night. There are photographs everywhere and drawings on the refrigerator. It smells like old wood and bacon. There's Cole's handwriting on the walls and the mark of his height on the kitchen wall.

Hank left that house when Cole died. You can still hear his laughter through the walls. There are still papers of his drawings on the living room floor. There are some baby clothes in Hank's room.

There are still painful memories and tears.

One day Connor discovers the existence of that house.

Now I chose his outfits for a reason. I wanted this little nerd to seem preppy, hence the shirt. However the goth shoes are to match Connor cuz. Cute. And I gave him a waterproof watch! He's always wearing it, even if you can't see it. My parents never had any idea what to get me for gifts so I got a lot a watches throughout my christmases. Felt like that's something Hank would do.
