Prepare to be swept off your feet (literally)

Approaching our very own love Hashira and requesting a hug will be met with the same excitement no matter what

“Huh? Do you want a hug? Of course! Come here sweetie, let me hold you for a bit!”

She will be SO HAPPY if you asked ^^

Mitsuri may squeeze you a little, but never too much

Her goal is to get you as close to her as possible, no gap spared between you two

She’s honestly one of the best huggers here

Depending on your height, she’ll either prop her chin on either your head or shoulder

She’s a little warm from her flustering, but still enthusiastic nonetheless

If your head is tucked away, she’ll focus on swaying you both side to side in a rocking motion

Almost as if you two were dancing

But if you face is out in the open, Mitsuri will not waste a second before peppering your entire face in kisses

She tries her best to make you feel loved

Mitsuri absolutely adores hugs so she’ll never turn you down

She likes cooing about how much she loves you while the two of you hold each other

“Oh you make my heart skip a beat! I love you so much!!!”

Compliments will not be held back here, Mitsuri will go above and beyond

But even the love Hashira has a favourite hug

Mitsuri was once gone for more than a week on some business that she had to attend to

You missed her terribly, and you grew more worried as time passed by

While lounging in your shared bedroom, you heard the door open and close as your love cheered “Honey, I’m home!”

You sprinted across the house, found Mitsuri and leapt into her arms, yours pulling her in by her neck

Seizing momentum while she had it, Mitsuri spun the two of you around while you were still in the air

But when the two of you had spun enough and she tried to put you down, she realized that your legs were around her waist

You were almost clinging onto her like a koala, and something inside of her melted

She was internally squealing at how affectionate you were :)

Mitsuri’s favourite hugs are ones where she can use her strength, often by lifting you up into her arms

“Sweetie it’s late, let me carry you to bed, okay?”

It just makes her feel strong and cherished

Would absolutely carry you around like this all the time if you let her

Obanai Iguro

He acts like he hates them

Do not underestimate him and the complete unadulterated adoration he has for you and the few people he lets near his heart

Obanai is just not used to that kind of thing, and it really stresses him out

If you asked him for a hug he would just shoot you a critical stare before groaning out an "Ughhh, fine. Come here"

You would be doing all the work here

Even if you have both your arms wrapped around him, your head resting on his shoulder, he still won't move

Obanai is really stiff about it

If you're lucky, he'll MAYBE pat your back unenthusiastically

Truth be told, Obanai doesn't let people touch him often so he wouldn't have much experience in it by far

Now if you ASKED him what is favourite hug is, he would say the side squeeze he gives you in public

Obanai can get overprotective easily, but he doesn't like showing it

He rarely misunderstands when someone is just being nice or affectionate in a platonic manner and when someone is actually hitting on you

If he sees someone making moves on you or just making you uncomfortable in general, he will glide over there and put his hand in your back pocket

Effectively pulling you into a very tense side hug

Obanai wouldn't say anything, but his main line of protection is his very judgmental look at his target

He wants you to believe that he's tough and all, that guarding you from danger is his greatest joy

But Obanai is really soft

His actual favourite hugs are what he refers to as "Sweater Time"

If you have larger sweaters than he does, he will pull the bottom hem of it up for a minute and pull it over his head

If he's taller than you then he just tucks you underneath the hem of his

Basically the two of you are wearing the same, spacious sweater

He's close enough that just fitting into it doesn't make you feel like you need to wrap your arms around him

But Obanai might pull you in if he just really needs your touch

He absolutely loves holding your face and resting his forehead on yours, absentmindedly tracing your jaw

Takes the opportunity to look into your eyes but Obanai doesn’t hold eye contact for long

So very warm :)

Tengen Uzui

Ohohoho

You’re in for a ride, that’s for sure

If you ask Tengen for a hug, he’s gonna be so snarky about it

He’ll make you confirm it like 5 times

“Hmm? You want a hug from the God of Festivals? Ahhh, of course, anyone would want to be in my arms! Come closer and claim you prize from yours truly~”

Tengen will motion you towards him, hinting to put your arms around him

Most of the time he’ll tease you about it, but sometimes Tengen will just flash a smile and pull you in

He’s pretty strong so his hugs are pretty tight by default

You can smell a hint of the cologne he uses, which is never too strong in the first place

Loves pressing you in by the small of your back, he can’t explain why though

Tengen’s hands just gravitate there, no lower or higher

Even when you two are already hugging, Tengen will not be able to resist teasing you

He is RELENTLESS about it too

Even if Tengen gets annoying with how affectionate you can be, he doesn't really mean it

Because every now and then, he just needs you there with him for a bit

It doesn't happen often but Tengen does have nights where he just can't sleep

You wouldn't know if its stress, repetitive thoughts or nightmares simply because he refuses to tell you

When he just lies there in the early hours of the morning, he'll carefully drag whoever is nearest towards him

This particular instance, you barely stirred awake as Tengen lifted your body to lie atop of his

Sensing your arousal from slumber, Tengen already hushes you back to sleep

"It's okay baby," he coos. "Just needed you a little closer. Get some rest"

If you happen to stay awake, he'll continue his attempts to get you to fall asleep again as he would honestly prefer for you to stay asleep when he's like this

Because when Tengen feels the worst of himself haunt his thoughts with all the memories and pain that he carries everywhere, nothing soothes him more than you pulling him closer whilst dreaming

This unconscious "I love you" of yours never fails to bring a sad smile and a few tears of love rolling down his cheeks

Pulls you even closer as he feels joy spread throughout his chest like fireworks

Yes, this is his favourite, and he will reward your efforts with forehead kisses and gently stroking your spine

Sanemi Shinazugawa

Either he has rabies or he just snarled at you

“Why the fuck are your arms like that? Are you looking for a fight?”

If you ask Sanemi for a hug, expect some backlash

See, all you wanted was some affection and somehow he's looking at you like you have two heads or something

"No you jerk, I just want a hug..."

Sanemi is pretty circumstantial with hugs, but he's not like Obanai where he's hiding how soft he really is

In reality, he would prefer that you got a hug from someone else

"Isn't it Mitsuri's day off? She should be in the garden at Shinobu's place"

Due to his workaholic nature, Sanemi doesn't think that he would be the best person for when you want affection

And its not because he hates affection nor does he find you annoying

Sanemi just think that because he's sweaty, covered in a bit of blood and is exhausted beyond belief, that maybe someone else's hug may bring more comfort than he could

But if there's no one else around...

"Mitsuri took a trip to a resort in the mountains, and you're already here"

With a roll of his eyes, Sanemi will acquiesce

"Get over here, you dork"

I will advise you however, that hug will not last more than three seconds

He will be firm in the hug, and maybe he'll give you a few pats on the back, but that's all you're getting

"There, now no more distractions. I've got some unfinished buisness..."

He will immediately turn away and go back to whatever he was doing

Honestly, he's trying to hide how (minorly) flustered he is by your sudden request for affection, but it's not surprising enough for him to let up a little on his unspoken self-consciousness

No, that would take at least a decade of attempts to make any progress

Just take his huffiness with a bit of grace; Sanemi just isn't the best person to go to when you want a hug

But if you come to him with tears dribbling down your cheeks, and a pained expression on your face

If you come to him with opened arms and a few sobs choked in your throat

If you push aside your dignity to allow Sanemi to see you at your worst, and a look in your eyes that shows that he's the only one who can alleviate the pain

"I've got you, I'm not going anywhere. I've got you"

He won't hesitate to immediately pull you in

There's something in the way you hold onto him that makes him believe that maybe, just maybe, he's not as bad as he thought

Hugs like these are his favourite, when he can push out his insecurities and hug you just for the sake of hugging you

Yeah, he's no good for hugging you when you want it

But he's perfect at it when you need it

Shinobu Kocho

She’s kinda iffy with them, but she does have her own preferences

If you approach Shinobu and you ask for a hug, she’ll open her arms to you and motion you toward her

“Oh my, my dear do you need a hug? No need to worry Angel, I’m right here”

She’s definitely shorter than you so she’ll normally press her face into your chest while the two of you embrace

Shinobu likes listening to your heartbeat, and sometimes seizes the opportunity to check your health

Usually she does it because she finds it soothing

Other times, Shinobu just worries even if she knows she has no reason to

Believe it or not but she doesn’t like being held

Shinobu will never breathe a word of it, especially if you’re really affectionate

Would never ask you to stop, she just wouldn’t go out of her way to ask you to hold her

You would think after learning this that Shinobu just doesn’t like physical affection

While cooking some dinner for the two of you, your mind will start to wander about Shinobu

She spends so much time studying medicine that you hardly saw her all day today

You missed her dearly

But then you feel two arms snake around your waist, and someone pressing into your back

The smell of wisteria and rubbing alcohol wafting around you

Yes, it’s true that Shinobu doesn’t like being held

But she LOVES holding you close

In bed she’s the big spoon, she hangs onto you when you share showers, her arms will wrap around your neck when she checks up on you working at your desk

Shinobu is the type of person where she just loves existing in the same space as you, but with her chest pressed against your back

Kyojuro Rengoku

CUDDLE MANNNN

Look me in my eyes and tell me that he isn’t the best hugger here

If you ask Kyojuro for a hug, he would be so honoured to give you one

“But of course my love! Please allow me to give you a proper embrace!”

He’s so soft and warm you could melt away

Depending on how you are when you asked, he will either ask you about your day or stay very quiet for you

Our sunshine boy can brighten even the stormiest days

Kyojuro’s very versatile with affection, so if he knows you have a preference he will heed to it at once

Head scratches, back rubs, shoulder pats, you name it

He’ll do it all for you

If it’s possible in the moment, he will give you a loving kiss on the forehead

With how affectionate Kyojuro is, you would think maybe he doesn’t have a favourite hug but that’s not true

“My love! I have finished my project, sit down with me so I may share it with you!”

You had just came back from the kitchen with two cups of tea, setting them on the coffee table

Kyojuro sat on the floor with his legs crossed, arms open and motioning you towards him

Initially you were confused with how close you stood near him, but Kyojuro still hurriedly motioned you towards him

He softly held onto your hips, turning you away from him, and pulled you down so you sat on the floor with him

You were basically sitting in Kyojuro’s lap

He had one arm around your waist, using the other hand to pull the box he was working on for the past couple weeks across the table towards the both of you

It was a time capsule of various items and mementos of time spent with you and his friends

Although the two of you were reminiscing on the memories made , Kyojuro’s focus lied in how comfortable you were to hold in his lap

He fantasizes of turning you around to face him so he could be all romantic and look into your eyes

But yes, Kyojuro’s favourite hugs are the ones where you are seated in his lap

If you want to hug him as well, Kyojuro will spin you around so you can cuddle all you’d like :)

Big or small, he can handle you no problem

Don’t ever worry about being too heavy ^^

Giyu Tomioka

Also iffy but for different reasons

To be completely honest Giyu has no idea what he’s doing

And he doesn’t know if he should tell you

The last thing he would want is to come off as unapproachable (even if he’s aware that most of his peers don’t like him)

If you ask Giyu for a hug, he’ll just nod and open his arms slightly

When you close in on the hug though, his arms aren’t even touching you

They just stay there… hovering…

Good grief help this man

“Giyu, what are you doing…” “Hugging you?” He mumbled

HE DOESN’T EVEN SOUND SURE

There’s no way around it, you have to show him how it’s done

“Let me show you Giyu, put your arms like this-“

He’s still learning so please be patient with him

Even after you two practice a couple times, he’s still awkward about it

Very light grip on his end, he feels like if he were to actually put pressure in his hugging it might disturb you somehow

Like what if he's hugging too tight? What if you want to escape his hold earlier than you thought??? What if he's doing this wrong?????

After you two have hugged in a couple other ways, he starts developing preferences

For an example, he likes draping his arms on your shoulders in a way that they fall down your back

Giyu feels like he’s not bothering you too much this way, and it’s natural enough for him to not overthink it

His first natural instinct isn’t usually physical affection, and Giyu wouldn’t even be able to firmly place what his favourite hug would be due to his lack of experience

But one time you greeted him after he came back from a particularly rough mission

Idk he was just standing in the middle of his yard looking lost and worn out

You tried to talk to him but he was unresponsive, so you just pulled him in

His arms still rested at his sides but from the way that his chin rested on your shoulder, you couldn't have seen it but there was a twinkle in his eye

When you pulled away with a smile and bade him goodbye, you genuinely restored something in him

This is Giyu's favourite hug; ones where you just hold him close without an expectation that he has to reciprocate something

Next time you saw him seated at his desk and writing in his journal you noticed it

You almost missed it but it was most definitely there

A tiny smile was on his face as he printed his thoughts onto the paper

Gyomei Himejima

You wouldn’t notice right away, but he’s actually awkward with hugs

This gentle giant is so huge and you’re so small in comparison he doesn’t know what to do

So if you ask Gyomei for a hug, you're gonna have to be more specific

"You want a hug? Of course. May you please elaborate on your preferences?"

Boundaries are very important to Gyomei

He would prefer if you could have a discussion before you need a hug where you list the things you are and are not okay with when it comes to touch

But if neither of you have had that discussion, just describe what you need from this specific case and that'll suffice for Gyomei

Once that's done, Gyomei will only then allow you to wrap your arms around him

The most common tendencies he tends to gravitate to is petting your head and rubbing your back gently

I will warn you that unless you specify that you don't like getting picked up, Gyomei may unintentionally lift you off the ground by a couple inches

Honestly, he forgot how huge he is and he thought you were taller

If you want to return some level of affection to Gyomei, I would suggest singing some praises for him or making generally happy noises :)

He particularly likes it if you coo a small "Dawwwwwww" or let out a pleased hum, it just pulls a wide grin out of him

When you two eventually pull away, he will without a doubt rustle your hair or pat your head

"Are you feeling better? I'm always here for you, remember that"

His biggest priority whilst showing you affection is ensuring that he leaves you in a better state than he found you

Be it physically, mentally, or emotionally, Gyomei will always be ready to take care of you

Even if he's oddly stiff about it

You see, Gyomei is hyperaware of his size and it sometimes conflicts with his confidence in coming off as passive and kind

It's really hard to be perceived as non-threatening when you're 7'2 and one of the strongest Hashira

So he tries to establish boundaries with you not just to respect you and ensure he's not crossing any lines, but also to make him feel safe and comfortable in being affectionate with you

I will add however, Gyomei doesn't have any physical boundaries with you (except killing another living thing without full disclosure)

So imagine his surprise when you ask if you can try lifting him

"You can certainly try- ouf!"

He was interrupted with your efforts to pick him up

Regardless if you manage to get him an inch off the ground, your determination still has him flustered

Gyomei finds your strength and playfulness endearing, letting a soft chuckle at your smaller stature trying to lift his gigantic self

But he'll heartily tell you to put him down before you start to over exert yourself

Gyomei will hold onto you for a little longer in thanks though :)

Because Gyomei's favourite hugs are the ones that make him feel small and cared for, rather than large and nurturing

He appreciates how you remind him of that side of him

Muichiro Tokito (Platonic)

Muichiro needs a good measure of caution if you're going to be affectionate with him

Initially most people would think that it's because you would have to try a couple times to get his attention with the amount of times that he spaces out

But honestly, if you hug him without warning he gets scared

If you ever did pull him into your arms whilst his mind was elsewhere, you can see Muichiro start to panic

He won't say anything about it, just standing very very still

But Muichiro is visibly uncomfortable

I mean think about it, imagine how startling it could be if you were just minding your own business and out of nowhere, someone's in your personal bubble

It makes Muichiro feel like he missed out on something important :/

His shoulders will be shaking as he looks around the person who's hugging him, trying to gauge what kind of situation he's in and what would be the appropriate reaction

Muichiro doesn't really like hugs in general so I wouldn't recommend hugging him in the first place

If anything, Muichiro feels bad because everyone just assumes that because he's a kid that he likes hugs and being coddled

So if you ask him for a hug, he'll politely turn you down

"A hug? Sorry, I'm not a hugger..."

He really doesn't mean it maliciously so please don't hold any hard feelings about it

It's only a personal boundary, he just hopes that you'll respect it

If you want to be affectionate with him, then I would suggest handshakes :)

But I will also raise that there may be a time where Muichiro may want to give you a hug

It's usually when someone accomplishes some kind of feat, and Muichiro just feels really proud of them

So his favourite hugs are the ones that he initiates (usually out of pride)

Muichiro will always do it with his arms wrapped around your waist and pressing his face into your middle

Hugging him back isn't his favourite, but now would be a great opportunity for head pats ^^

Muichiro loves those

Overall you just need to be patient and understanding with Muichiro, and just trust that he will come to you

And you know what, if you really need that hug then Muichiro will at least go out of his way to cheer you up

It just might not be the way that you would expect

Cuddling headcanons for the Hashiras!

Giyuu

🌊- He is such a touched starved baby so he definitely loves cuddling

🌊 - but he’s too shy to ask so you’ll always have to make the first move

🌊- Cuddling with Giyuu is heavenly because he is extremely soft and he always smells nice

🌊- and his scent isn’t a strong over-bearing manly scent but rather a soft scent, he smells like freshly washed blankets right out of the dryer

🌊- His favorite cuddle position is spooning, expect this time he’s facing you with his face buried in your chest and his arms wrapped around your waist as you comb through his hair

🌊-He really likes this position because he loves the softness of your touch, you two can stay in this position for hours and hours and not get tired of being so close

🌊-Since he’s so touched starved he always want to be the little spoon, but he doesn’t mind being the big spoon, especially when you had a hard day

🌊- You two usually cuddle only when you both have a day off, this is because he can be in your warmth for as long as he wants with no distraction

Rengoku

🔥- Rengoku loves cuddling with you and would do it any chance he gets

🔥- Kyō is so freaking warm so if you’re ever feeling cold go cuddle with him and he’ll warm you right up!

🔥- and he’s not so warm that later during cuddling you get a bit sweaty, his cuddling is like wearing a nice warm coat on a cold winter day

🔥- His favorite cuddle position is when you lay your entire body on top of him, he finds it to be very comforting

🔥- In this position he’ll always put his hands a under your shirt and gently rub your back, and his hands are always warm so it never feels uncomfortable

🔥- He also likes it when you lay your head on his chest or stomach

🔥- He much rather cuddle in bed, he doesn’t mind cuddling outside tho he just thinks this is way more comfortable and you two can stay like that for as long as you want without worrying about the weather

Shinobu

🦋- She actually isn’t the biggest cuddler, but she’s not opposed to it

🦋- She loves to do it when you two have been separated from each other for the entire day due to Hashira duties or her patients

🦋- She much rather give you cuddles than you give to her

🦋-Her favorite position is when you lay your head on her lap and she’s massaging your head

🦋- She really likes doing this position outside in her garden or on the engawa of her estate

🦋- As you’re in this position she loves to tease you and kiss different spots of your face and tell you how beautiful it is

🦋- Her favorite part is to kiss your nose because she loves the way you nose scrunchies as she kisses it

🦋- She doesn’t mind cuddling in public , if she’s talking to someone and you randomly come and rest your head on her lap she’ll greet you and continue talking while rubbing your head

🦋- The only way you’ll be able to cuddle with her is if she’s super sleepy, during this time her favorite position would be spooning and she rather be the little spoon because she wants to steal all your warmth

Sanemi

☁️- He was so damn stubborn about it at first

☁️ -He actually really wanted to cuddle with you but him being the grumpy and stubborn person he is he didn’t want to admit it

☁️- You would have to beg for him to do it and once he finally gives in he’s now addicted

☁️- His favorite position is spooning

☁️-He definitely likes to be the big spoon, he thinks it’s more of a “dom” position

☁️- He also likes this position because since you’re not facing him he can smile and blush about being so close to you all he wants without you seeing him

☁️- Before cuddling with him you better use the bathroom or eat something because Sanemi has a pretty tight grip on you and it’s really hard to release from him

☁️- Plus he’s very clingy so he won’t let go for hours and only tighten his grip if you try to squeeze out

☁️- When cuddling with him he’ll alway have a tight grip on you, but not too tight that it seems sufficient, cuddling with him you’ll always feel safe and secure in his arms

☁️- It is very rare when he agrees to be the lttile spoon he’ll only do it thought I’d you promise to massage his head

Mitsuri

💖- She is such a cuddle bug 🥰

💖- She loves cuddling with you and always wants to do it

💖- When cuddling with her, you can literally feel all her love and affection for you

💖-You two would cuddle anywhere, it could be in your own rooms, outside under a tree or even when hanging out with fellow pillars or friends

💖- She doesn’t mind the PDA at all but if you don’t feel comfortable doing that she’ll respect you and probably just lay her head on your shoulder if you don’t mind

💖- If you two are cuddling in the bedroom her favorite position is the honey-moon hug, in this position the both of you face each other and are practicality hugging

💖- She likes this one because she wants to be as close to you as possible

💖- She also loves it because really loves the way you smell and how soft your body is against hers

💖- Cuddling with her is always nice because she smells likes some kind of sweet, since she’s always eating them

Obania

🐍- So in the beginning you’ll have to do more of the cuddling because he doesn’t know wtf he’s supposed to do

🐍- It’s very awkward the first few times because he’s not use to physical affection, at first cuddling with him his body would be very tense and he’ll be moving very minute to get comfortable

🐍- You’ll have to tell him it’s okay and he can relax, you’ll always have to tell him what to do the first few times, it’ll take some time but he’ll eventually get it

🐍- This may not be considered cuddling but he likes it when you rest your head on his shoulders and your hands are intertwined with his

🐍- His snake is always resting on your shoulders in this position

🐍- Every now and then he’ll take his free hand and brush it against your check

🐍- In bed he likes it when you’re back to back, it’s perfect for him because he can feel your warmth, be close to you and there’s no possible way he can mess up by make either of you feel uncomfortable

🐍- He’ll always give you cuddles when you’re super sleepy or just came back from a long mission

🐍- If you fall asleep he’ll turn around and pull you into his chest and place his chin on top of yours

Uzui

🔈- Now he’s not exactly the “cuddly type” but if you’d like do it he’s more than happy to

🔈- He doesn’t mind what cuddle position you’re in just as long as he can feel you since he’s such as a horn-dog

🔈- but if he had to pick one it’d be when he’s sitting and leaning on something perhaps a tree or a wall and you’re in between his legs resting your body on his chest

🔈- He would wrap his arms around your waist to make you feel more secure and he’ll also plant little kisses along you neck or gently rub your arms until you go to sleep

🔈- Another cuddle position he likes is when he lays his head on your stomach and you run your fingers through his hair

🔈- He usually does this position when he heard some real interesting drama and he wants to spill it to you immediately, which is all the time

🔈- If his wives were to be included in cuddling it’s honestly even better

🔈- With them it’s jus a big mess of entangled limbs and it may sound uncomfortable but it’s actually not , it’s really warm and cozy and you can’t help but always fall asleep by how comfy you are

🪨- Because of his large size he’s automatically the best at cuddling out of all the pillars

🪨- Even though he’s probably the best at it he doesn’t like it

🪨- The only reason why he doesn’t is because he’s afraid to crush you with his freaking huge body

🪨- The only cuddle position he allows is if you’re on top of him that way he can’t.... you know crush you

🪨- The fear of hurting you isn’t the only reason why he didn’t like cuddling he also didn’t like it because he didn’t like laying still and doing nothing, he’s a man who likes to use his time wisely and he is constantly busy with Hashira work so laying still makes him feel uneasy

🪨- So the cuddle position that’ll satisfy both of your needs is the bridal style but sitting (that makes sense right?)

If the hashiras found out about yandere shinobu's actions, what would they do or how would they react?

A/N: Not gonna lie I wonder this too. This is very long so I apologize. I had another request that was written the same like this one. But it can be the same anon so I will deleate that request. 

To say the least if they found out things won’t end pretty for Shinobu. If any of the hashira found out about her actions they would tell the master. She will not be able to stop any of the hashiras either. She’s the weakest hashira and she may be the fastest but I still doubt she would be able to stop any of them from telling the master. But if Shinobu’s actions reach the masters ears Shinobu would be demoted from her position as a hashira and probably get kicked out from the corps. The actions she does will not be accepted by any of the hashira.

We know as a yandere Shinobu she would drug you, bruise you up, manipulate you, kill others for you. Overall a dangerous yandere and really not the good type. She’s the type of yandere to keep you to herself no matter what so yeah she’s dangerous. 

All of them will protect you from Shinobu. Shinobu will not be able to handle all of them at once and now that she’s out of the corps the chance of you stumbling upon her again is slim but still possible and the hashira will take this too account so they will all protect you from her. Won’t even let Shinobu go near you.

The hashira will even let you live with them. Yes even Sanemi and Obani. They’re not coldhearted. You probably went through shit with yandere Shinobu and they would feel bad so you can live with them. Maybe not so excited about it but they will let you at least. 

Now for the hashiras reactions! 

Gyomei: He would be severly dissapointed at Shinobu. He would pray that she will get forgiven for these actions. He can probably not even look at her the same or even look at her in the first place. Gyomei also took care of Shinobu when she was just a little kid. Gyomei would really wonder how Shinobu could turn like this. It would break his heart nonetheless. 

Sanemi: All respect for her down the drain. He would be shocked. How the heck could she do this? He would yell at her how Kanae would hate Shinobu for this. It would be nasty between those two. 

Obani: He would ignore Shinobu all together. He would not even look at her. Will tell Mitsuri about this if she doesn’t already know. Will not let Shinobu go near Mitsuri. If Shinobu talks to Obani he can also fire at her. 

“Get away from me” or “I know what you did you little shit” or “If you get near Y/N or Mitsuri I will slit your throat open and let your corpse rot to the earth” 

Giyu: He will be one of the hashira that takes these news the hardest. He was friends with Shinobu for a long time and even enjoyed talking to her, even if he didn’t talk back he still enjoyed her presence. Giyu and Shinobu had the best relatonship between all of the pillars and she was the only that understood Giyu fully. If he sees her he would question if this was the same insect hashira he was friends with. Shinobu might try to talk to him but he’s not having it. He will ignore her or shove her away. As for you he will feel so guilty that he didn’t know about Shinobu’s actions. He will give you food and beg on his knees for forgivness. 

Muichiro: His brain would probably just forget about her all together. He will know what Shinobu did to you but does not wanna think about it. Will just think that she was a unimportant lady that just came and go in his life. 

Kyojuro: This might be me but I have a feeling Kyojuro would ask questions to Shinobu why she did what she did. Most likely to hear Shinobu out, will not forgive her but just hear her out.

“Kochou? Why would you do such a inmoral thing to another human being? Especially your s/o? I thought you loved them!”. When it comes to you he will always tell you that you can talk to him. “Just so you know! You can always live with me or talk to me! I’m always open!” You know that since it was the third time that week he said that. 

Mitsuri: She would be absolutely horrified. Would be so heartbroken! Will cry because she feels guilty she didn’t know about Shinobu and she also cries just imagining what Shinobu put you through. Will cry to Kyojuro and Obani about this. If she stumbles upon Shinobu tears will probably spill. 

“Why? Shinobu why would you do this?” Shinobu would probably not respond or look down in shame. “I really thought I knew you. You really are as low as demons” Mitsuri would say and the conversation ends there. 

She would cry and ask you to forgive her for not knowing about Shinobu’s actions sooner. 

Tengen: Would scold the hell out of Shinbou. 

“Truly unflamboyant! I never thought you would do this!” Shinobu didn’t look up at Tengen. “Are you proud of yourself? Do you feel good?” If Shinobu don’t respond then Tengen would scoff. “I really wonder what went through your head to commit something this heinous! You are the most unflamboyant thing my eyes had to see” 

Tengen would let you stay at his estate and his wives would spoil you rotten. They all would be open to talk to you about this. 

Overall everyone would feel bad for you and will take care of you greatly.

Sure! This might be a little short tho..

Synopsis: (y/n)'s pain tolerance scars all the pillars. +her and Mui having a contest about how long they can endure pain.

You'd thing when a pillar is terribly injured or in pain they would be y’know..in pain. But not the lotus pillar (Y/n). She just shrugged it off despite a lower rank demons nails through their upper cavity and all around chest.

You’d never be able to tell if she was in pain. The other pillars thought she was and would rush to her aid.  Gyomei sat beside her and prayed all while she sat there with her arms crossed. Which made the pain worse. But she held her tongue and also he visual appearance of pain.

Giyuu paced around the room waiting for Shinobu, Sanemi sat on her bed and bounced his leg. Mitsuri cried to Obanai, Obanai soothed her. Tengen gave commentary on how he would be feeling and how flamboyant it was she was staying quiet.

But Muichiro looked at his other twin.(Pretend Yuichiro and them are triplets).

He had eyes of no interest but a smirk laying on his face. He knew she had to have some pain, but he’ll speak on it later. Shinobu walked in and began checking her and aslo began wondering how she was feeling.

“On a scale on 1 to 5 how is the pain?”

All other pillars looked at her. Waiting.

“2 1⁄2.”

“WHAAA??!!”  She sat there with no pain. She would even say a one, just the mild discomfort of the bandages. Shinobu sighed and asked Kyojuro to hold her in place just in case the pain level rises. “Ok, (Y/n)-chan I’m going to pull on nail out..”

She pulled the nail out of her chest, then quickly placed the cloth there to stop the bleeding. “Pain level?”

“2″ Sanemi and Gyomi gasped. They went through pain but goodness she was like 14? How much pain has she gone through to be like this?

Nail after nail. Nothing, not even a flinch.

“THE HELL?? WHAT ARE YOU A DEMON??” Sanemi yelled, he was then pulled away out of the hospital due to yelling and causing chaos. All other pillars gave condolences but were terribly worried. Even coming back to check on her.

But her other twin.

He looked smug and walked towards her, he sat on the bed and looked towards her.

“1 to 10 pain level really?” 

She sighed and groaned as she held her stomach .Muichiro held out his hands on a scale to show further.

if someone was to misgender/dead-name the reader on accident:

- mitsuri, kyojurou, shinobu, gyomei and giyuu would have the calmest reactions if it was a mistake. they’d correct them immediately and that’s that; no room for question.

- shinobu would most likely add some sharpness to her words, though.

- obanai, sanemi and tengen would respond a bit.. rougher to the person, even if they didn’t mean to. probably throw in an insulting name or two.

- tengen would refer to the person’s actions as “unflamboyant” on the spot.

if someone was to then purposely misgender/dead-name the reader, especially after being corrected:

- oh boy.

- sanemi and obanai wouldn’t hesitate to beat that person’s ass, beating the reader’s correct pronouns/name into their head, literally. They have no mercy for the offender.

- the offender would end up tied to obanai’s training ground when they awake. they aren’t getting out of there anytime soon.

- shinobu and tengen would also not hesitate to cut that person down, but more so verbally. they’d get a sharp stab to the side by either a poisoned sword or a kunai, before getting their ego utterly demolished by these two.

- and god do they know where it hurts. that person will not be recovering anytime soon, as they deserve.

- tengen would also repeatedly flick their forehead, which would fucking hurt. Have you seen his muscles?? the offender’s forehead definitely has an egg on it afterwards.

- will punch their gut like he did in the manga if they were to continue.

- kyojurou would most likely ask them to repeat themselves; if the person proceeded to maliciously and purposely misgender the reader, the flame pillar would get angry. this man is terrifying when angry.

- the offender would get a good ole unsettling threat from kyojurou, getting in their personal space with an unnerving smile on his lips, veins visible on his forehead. the blonde would even go as far to grab the other’s collar so he can’t run away.

- “and if you dare do that again, you will not like what happens next!”

- giyuu would have a similar reaction, though more silent and less smiley, which makes it all the more terrifying.

- “you meant he/(correct name), right?” he’d ask as he has the other pinned to a wall threateningly.

- gyomei would start to cry, praying for the poor, stupid soul who dared do such a thing. it’s ominous, because he’s praying the other will not be too permanently injured for what he is about to do.

- I’ll leave that one up for the imagination.

- mitsuri would be baffled that someone would even think of doing such a thing! she’d get emotional, both angry and upset at the person.

- “how could you say such a thing like that?? how much hate do you have to hold in your heart to do that??”

- she’s more on the comforting side than the confronting side; but the offender is even more fucked since obanai saw that they got mitsuri upset.

- that person was never seen again.

the hashira comforting the reader after he was misgendered/dead-named:

the best at comforting the reader would definitely be mitsuri and kyojurou.

mitsuri would provide a nice, comfortable place for the reader to talk and let anything he needed to let out, well, out.

she’d rub his back and hand in a soothing manner, saying encouraging and sympathetic things to try to comfort him.

“I know it’s hard, but don’t give those kind of people any attention! they’re just hateful and insecure; it’s not a reflection of you, but them!”

20/10 experience; the reader will leave her place with a smile.

kyojurou would be very similar to mitsuri, offering a warm, comforting hand on the reader’s shoulder as he’d let the other speak first.

encouraging words galore! kyojurou would go on about how the other should just stay on the path he’s on and ignore anyone who would not be supportive of said path.

“you and your heart are on the right path, keep your heart aflame and do what is best for you! not everyone will support you, but many people will and do! we will always have your back!”

the absolute worst at comforting the reader would be the 21 club; giyuu, sanemi and obanai.

giyuu doesn’t mean to suck at helping, he’s just emotionally constipated. (/lh) but he does try, sitting next to him in silence, maybe even a back pat. god he’s extremely awkward, but the sentiment is there.

sanemi and obanai wouldn’t know where to start with comforting anyone.

sanemi has more experience with it since he had younger siblings, so his response would be the best out of the three.

“don’t mind those assholes, they’re fucking beneath you; low lives, got it? they have nothing better to do with their time other than be a waste of space.”

it’s sweet I promise.

obanai would be the worst at comforting. he doesn’t know how to comfort someone, only how to defend them from behind the scenes.

the best thing he’s got is “they’re taken care of, they won’t be bothering you ever again.”

tengen would surprisingly be good at comforting, though not as heartfelt as mitsuri or kyojurou.

he’d get a bit serious yet soft, trying to distract the reader from his hurt with subtle jokes and comforting gestures.

“the unflamboyant roaches of society will try to take away the shine of the elites; just remember you have quite a few exterminators who are willing to flamboyantly stomp on said pests!”

“you’re flamboyantly living your life, they’re spiteful because they can’t do the same.”

odd wording, but reassuring all the same.

he’ll also let the reader wear his jewel covered headpiece to get him smiling, even if it would fall over his eyes.

shinobu would be sweet but her anger towards the person would linger, causing her smile to be slightly scary.

“don’t hesitate to call one of us if someone ever says anything stupid, we’ll make sure they don’t ever again~.”

gyomei would be simple yet would leave the reader feeling lighter than before.

his presence alone is comforting, along with the tea he’d offer and the cats that live in his estate.

I’ve sat on this for a bit and I’m not exactly sure what he’d say specifically; though it would most likely be very uplifting towards the reader, not even mentioning the incident that had happened.

He does not particularly want to dance.

So after a brief moment of hesitation, he says

“Alright.”

On the night of the dance, he dresses up and walks with you to the venue as you chatter about this and that

When it’s time for the actual dance, you hold your hand out towards him

And as always, he takes it without a word and lets you tug him along.

You’re not that good at dancing either

It’s mostly a lot of turning and haphazard switching from one foot to the other, sticking your tongue out in concentration as the music swells

At first, he follows your path like a kite on a string, his expression blank and reserved

But sooner or later, the music and your laughter start to affect him

His footsteps get just a little lighter

Then a small smile forms on Giyuu’s lips as he suddenly tightens his grip and leads you in one direction

You follow with a bright grin and pull him the other way

And with quicker heartbeats and eager breaths, the two of you begin to dance together.

Kanroji Mitsuri:

Mitsuri loves the entire concept of ballroom dancing

She has some experience doing these types of things

(Plus, she’d practiced waltzing in her bedroom many times when she was younger)

Come the night of the dance, Mitsuri is totally excited!

“Dancing the night away” is the perfect phrase for the two of you

She treats it like she treats any other thing she does – with great passion – and has an absolute blast spinning about the room, even sweeping you off your feet at times

Mitsuri is totally in her element! She’s quite coordinated and doesn’t step on your toes a single time

(Though sometimes she nearly forgets that you might need breaks, prompting her to whisk you over to the refreshments and give you water)

The entire time, she thinks about how much fun the two of you are having and how great a dancer you are. It’s like you’re the only two people in the world

Iguro Obanai:

Obanai doesn’t like dancing.

You don’t like dancing.

But you’re socially obligated to go to this event, and for some reason, you’ve decided that he should suffer too

He wonders what the point of all this is – the two of you are kinda just swaying back and forth

Himejima Gyoumei:

Gyoumei’s never been to a very formal dance like the one you’re describing

(Most of his dancing experience involves swinging his students around during playtime)

He is pleased that you want to go with him, though

“Ah, and it’s a fundraiser? I would be glad to accompany you.”

“Really? Thank you, Himejima-kun!”

He does voice his concerns about being so tall, wondering whether it will be an issue when the two of you dance, but you just pat his arm and assure him that it will be fun

And it is

He’s very gentle and careful

Neither of you are very interested in doing any fancy moves, so he follows well when you tell him the steps, turning and moving whenever he feels the slight pressure of your fingers against him

On the rare occasion when it happens, you let him know where a couple is about to brush by, so he and you don’t bump into them

It’s comfortable. Gyoumei talks to you as you dance, asking you about the little mundane things happening in your life

You answer back in kind; there’s a smile in your voice the entire time

He makes sure to hold you close.

Uzui Tengen:

Tengen knows he’s the last person you want to ask, but he’s also the only one available, so.

Cue flamboyant grin as you shuffle over to him, mumbling your invitation

He puts his arm around you and pats your shoulder

“Sure! Make sure to wear something flamboyant, [S/n]-san.”

“Yeah, whatever. It’s at seven next Saturday night.”

On the night of the dance, he doesn’t hold back on his outfit, fingers and ears and hair adorned with jewels and catching the light

And to your credit, you clean up pretty well too

Tengen’s the one who offers his hand

“Wouldn’t be much of a dance if we didn’t participate, would it?”

You shrug, still grumpy about inviting him, apparently

But you stand up and go with him anyway

He’s ballroom danced before, but not excessively – not that he would need to; Tengen is a quick learner and fluid with his movements

As well as a considerate partner

He is thoroughly offended by your surprise when he asks you to lead

“What’s with the tone?! I wouldn’t just do whatever I wanted with you the whole time.”

You blink and look away, brow furrowed

(That night, you learn that Uzui Tengen isn’t as much of an asshole as you’d originally believed.)

Muichirou doesn’t hear you at first, lost in his thoughts

“—chirou-kun? Hello …?”

You look flustered

That’s not unusual, but nevertheless, it causes him to tilt his head questioningly

… And you’re covering your face as you repeat your request

“G-Go with me to a dance, please!”

And then goes back to staring at the clouds.

At the actual dance, Muichirou just kinda floats around, following you or doing his own thing

He’s not totally invested, but you are; so when you ask him to dance, he obliges and allows you to lead him to the dance floor

He is a very relaxed type of dancer

This ends up complementing your more nervous movements

Despite his slightly airheaded nature, while dancing, the boy is remarkably aware of the space around him and keeps you moving in time with the music

(He does stare at you for a concerning amount of time, but it’s not intentional – it’s an unconscious habit of his and you’re quite used to it)

When the music stops, you shyly thank him for dancing with you

“You’re welcome. I liked it.”

Kochou Shinobu:

Shinobu is flattered and slightly apprehensive

“I’d love to go with you. But I should let you know that I’m not a ballroom dancer …”

Upon your insistence that you aren’t either, she chuckles and asks you when and where the dance will be

(Kanae helps her choose her clothes and shoes for it, excited that her little sister’s trying something new with you)

When the two of you get there, you introduce her to all your other friends before bringing her down to dance

“Have you ever danced before?”

“Ah, my parents had us take lessons when we were little, but it’s been years.”

“Okay, cool! I have no idea what to do.”

So, Shinobu ends up leading you in the dance, recalling the basic steps quite easily

She’s pretty graceful and, being athletic, has no trouble keeping up a steady pace with the faster songs

… Kind of gets into a teaching zone and pushes you to stay on beat, smiling a little too cheerfully when your eyes widen during a turn

“You can do it!”

“Uh-hUH …!”

But both of you have fun overall. Your steps get easier and smoother with each song, until there’s less thinking and more feeling with the movements

Shinobu is glad to have accepted your invitation

Rengoku Kyoujurou:

He immediately says yes

Arms crossed over his chest, smile wide and voice booming, Kyoujurou basically lets everyone in the vicinity know you’ve invited him to a dance

“Of course! A dance sounds very enjoyable! I will see you there!”

You grin and nod, rushing away with a quiet chuckle

He accompanies you to the place where the dance is held, peppering you with questions about what it’s for and who you know there

And once the pair of you arrive, he’s eager to meet with people and try the food

As for the dancing –

Kyoujurou is not a very good dancer, technically speaking!

But he is a fun dancer!

He likes spinning around until you’re dizzy, lifting you and putting you down as he does so

Light on his feet and firm with his grip

He also likes to talk as you dance

“You look fantastic tonight!”

“O-Oh, thanks! You look nice too!”

Being him, he draws attention to the two of you, some strange looks and some chuckles, but he’s too focused on making you enjoy yourself to really notice or mind

A very awkward partner. After Sabito, he became extremely withdrawn. To him, romantic human interaction was something of a dream. To now have it at his beck and call, it’s something he wants to take advantage of. He just doesn’t know how. His S/O would have to initiate everything until he becomes more secure in the relationship.

If his S/O is a fellow hashira he’s usually next to them during meetings. All the other pillars lowkey hate the lovey dovey looks he gives as his holds their hand. Shinazugawa finds it disgusting, and disrespectful if they are in the presence of Kagaya. The rest are surprised that the usually calm and montone pillar can actually express anything romantic

Whenever he gets made fun of for his lack of friends, he proudly states his S/O is more than enough for him. He’s almost immune to all of Shinobu’s comments.

Shinobu Kocho

Most patient partner someone can ask for. S/O isn’t ready to take the relationship to the next step, no worries! She’ll stand by their side til’ the end of the world.

She’s a hard shell to crack. Her S/O would have to be persistent if they wanted her to genuinely express how she’s feeling. She never expresses her pain and anguish, she covers everything with her serene smile.

Loves talking about her pharmaceuticals with her S/O. It’s something she’s passionate about, and to share her knowledge with someone she cares deeply for is meaningful to her.

Kyojuro Rengoku

A warm and kind man who loves to smother his S/O in love and support. He’s a hug and kiss type of guy! Haven’t seen each other because of a mission? He scoops his S/O up in a tight hug followed by a deep kiss!

Loves to bring his S/O to visit his family. Even if his father isn’t receptive, he gladly spends large amounts of time with his S/O and younger brother.

If his S/O is a demon slayer/demon their protection is one of his priorities if they go on missions together. He won’t let them out of his sight and guarantees almost no injuries.

Even with her S/O, she still fawns over other people. It’s just in her nature as a love pillar! She never means to make her S/O jealous, or uncomfortable. If her S/O tries to get her to tone down on her comments she may just combust.

Adores feeding her S/O food! She just thinks they’re so cute when she feeds them. Her favorite food to share is her strawberry mochi. (Her S/O’s hair may just turn as pink as hers!)

Sanemi Shinazugawa

A very brash and blunt partner. Says one thing, but means the opposite. Tsundere for sure. He tries to push away his S/O, just as he did to Genya, for their own safety. He never thinks about the way his S/O feels about his one-sided decision.

His S/O might have gang up on Sanemi with his brother. Maybe two people will get him to crack his tough exterior and allow himself to be vulnerable.

Obanai Iguro

Overthinks a lot of his actions. He seems like a self-possessed guy, but when it comes to his S/O he overthinks everything. Did they think I look weird today? What about that gift I gave them, did they like it?

Lets his snake coil around his S/O. It’s a large sign of trust on his part, since his snake is so crucial to him. If his S/O is scared of reptiles, he tries his best to ease them into liking their company.

Lowkey loves to be smothered with his S/O’s love and affection. He may not seem one to be touchy-feely, but he just loves to be in his S/O’s arms.

Gyomei Himejima

Although the cannot see, he believes his S/O has the kindest soul, so they must have the kindest appearance.

Synopsis: Uzui or Obanai (separated hc) +fic. Liking the older Tokito!

Tengen Uzui

He would ask full on her to be his fourth wife. Even gave her his other wives names.

Of course Tengen would never take into account of how her beloved younger brother feel..even so the cloud pillar is much like her brother and cares for him as much.. So if Tengen wants her he is going have to bring it on to impress Mui.

Tengen also will dress to impress and will bring gifts.

The cloud pillar sat on the door step of her and her younger brothers estate. She was blowing bubbles with him and was often answering his endless and curious questions.

Until a booming aura and sound came west of their private relaxation.

“Oh, my flamboyant angel! My sooon to beee!!”

Uzui Tengen burst into their garden and gate. He had a large bouquet of flowers and was obviously not trying to make eye contact with Muichiro who was glaring at him.

“As, Uzui-kun! Nice seeing you! Say hello Mui!” His older sister bounced her way to his side and accepted the flowers. Shortly leaving to place them somewhere safe.

While the duo was alone, Muichiro emitted a dark aura.

“If you want to be with my Nee-san then you have to prove your not in it for the looks.”

Uzui understood his reasoning, of course with his flamboyant charm and personality and pride he can be seen as a very.. problematic. So if needed he will prove to him and his sister he can be the perfect guy. For her.

Tengen helped her garden, even touching dirt. He spared with Muichiro, even giving him a fair fight. So while the younger Tokito went away to clean himself up and to prepare for dinner.

So the cloud pillar and the sound pillar sat alone. “So, what did Mui say?”

Tengen gave her a side eye and smirked. “He flamboyantly said I could be with you!”

“Yeah sure, you still have a long way to prove yourself to him and me..” “Happily will my fiance.”

Obanai Iguro

Would most definilty not care about Muichiro and rather just go for it.

He is shy to admit his liking but both can tell.

Also do not expect him to be too kind to Mui but will for her.

Obanai walked to the backyard to see the two siblings sparing. He knew if Muichiro is angered by him, he can’t hang out with (Y/n).

“Ah! Hello Iguro-kun!” She walked over to him ad petted Kaburamaru. She went inside to get him a snack and drink, leaving the younger Tokito and the serpent pillar alone.

“We both know why your here, so let me make this clear. Fuck up I’ll kill you.” Muichiro and Obanai didn’t hate or dislike eachother to the point of trying to kill each other. Just mildly..i don’t like you but I can stand you.

So for this time Obanai understood and asked to spar. He did give a fair fight and even thanked Muichiro for the match. (Y/n) came back with snacks and mentioned she wanted to make Mochi today.

Obanai being good friends with Kanroji and knows best to make it. So he and the two tokitos made Mochi. Obanai teaching Muichiro how to form them, (Y/n) and him beating the rice and adding different flavors. 

Afterwards Muichiro had to get ready for bed and Obanai, (Y/n) looked up at the setting sun. They sat in peaceful silence.

“So what did mui and you agree on?”

“Agree to disagree..”

               The Hashira meeting concludes with a final word of thanks from Oyakata-sama, leaving the nine most talented and powerful swordsmen and swordswomen still feeling warm and exceedingly loved each by their kind leader and father-figure. Mitsuri, in particular, still sports a blush on her beautiful face after remembering how Oyakata-sama praised each of them for their skill and smiled kindly at them.

               “Now that the meeting’s over and done,” says Kyojuro as he gets up from his kneeling position on the ground. “Who’s up for some snacks? Kanroji has been very kind with her offer to share some favourite of hers to all of us. It would be great if we all eat what she’s brought together!”

               Beside him, Tengen crosses his arms in thought as the Love Hashira gestures for a Kakushi bearing a cloth-covered basket to come forth and takes the package with a bright “Thank you!”

              (It doesn’t escape everyone’s notice how Obanai sends a deadly glare at the poor Kakushi for receiving a smile from Mitsuri.)

                “Would that be one of those artistic, flamboyant Western cuisine?” the Sound Hashira asks with open curiosity as he approaches Mitsuri and lifts the cloth to reveal the basket’s contents.

              “Oh, no – but I can make and bring some next time! These are sakura mochi, my favourite!” she exclaims. “I made plenty for all of us! And you can take some home for your wives, too!”

              “I’m gonna pass,” Sanemi tells them. But the look of disappointment on Mitsuri’s face makes the Wind Hashira hesitate. He knows that look too well – has seen it many times when he’s still a kid. It’s the kind of look his little sisters displayed whenever he rarely turns down their requests and offerings of food. “On second thought,” he backpedals, rolling his eyes when Mitsuri seems to glow with hope, “I think I can spare a few minutes here. Pass me some, Kanroji.”

              “My, my. Has the day finally come for you to show that you do have a soft side, Shinazugawa-san?” Shinobu questions her fellow Pillar rather teasingly. “It seems no one can really resist Mitsuri-chan, hm?”

              “Don’t order Kanroji around, Shinazugawa,” Obanai hisses in time with Kaburamaru, shooting the Wind Hashira a heated glare.

              “Shut up, both of you,” Sanemi snaps, swiping the mochi Mitsuri has offered him. The pink and green haired girl has been blushing non-stop at the attention, her heart beating so fast in her chest at being the main subject of three of her fellow Pillar’s discussion.

              “It’s pink. What is it called again? What is it…” Muichiro mutters absently, listlessly following Mitsuri’s hand as she passes the sakura mochi around. The youngest in the group blinks at the mochi that is now being offered to him, taking it and lightly squishing the food. “It’s soft. What is this again?”

              Gyomei thanks Mitsuri for the food and eats the mochi in one go. “It’s sakura mochi,” he tells the Mist Hashira. “It’s good. May I have another, Namu?”

              “Sakura… mochi,” Muichiro repeats quietly and takes a bite himself.

              “Delicious!” Kyojuro exclaims and takes another when Mitsuri offers the basket to him giddily. Between them stands Giyuu who is quietly eating his share.

              “Iguro-san! Please take your share before it’s all gone!” Mitsuri reminds the Serpent Hashira worriedly.

              “It’s alright, Kanroji,” he tells her kindly, ignoring the way Uzui and Shinobu share knowing looks at the sudden softness of his voice. “If you want to, I can help you make more sakura mochi for the two of us to eat.”

               Mitsuri shoves the basket in Kyojuro’s waiting hands and covers her blushing face at the offer. “You’re too kind, Iguro-san! Let’s make plenty of sakura mochi next time!”

               In the end, Kyojuro, Sanemi, Giyuu, and Uzui end up finishing the basket full of sakura mochi by themselves. Gyomei has eaten three because he’s not feeling particularly hungry and just wants to show his appreciation by partaking in the snack, while Shinobu and Muichiro have two each. Perhaps eating a few of the sakura mochi has saved these three in particular because, a few hours later, four men sporting pink and green hair are seen standing in front of the Butterfly Estate with a worried and apologetic Love Hashira in tow. The rest of the Pillars soon follow, wondering what the commotion is about.

               Exhausted is not good enough of a word to describe how tired you are. Sometimes you sort of regret rising through the ranks within the Demon Slayer Corps, and while being a Kinoe – and a Tsuguko to the Flame Hashira, to boot – means that your salary is as close as a Hashira’s, the missions are becoming more demanding and numerous.

               You almost cry in relief at the sight of the Butterfly Estate. You are lucky enough to finish your mission unscathed, but you wouldn’t miss a visit to Shinobu’s estate for anything in the world – not when you’re carrying a bag of trinkets and sweets for the little girls you have dubbed the “Caterpillars” residing under the Insect Hashira’s protection.

               You make yourself at home, mustering an energetic smile for Kanao and Aoi as you give them their share of gifts and sweets (Aoi thanks you profusely while Kanao expresses her gratitude at the flip of a coin). Taking a turn down the hallway where you can hear people chattering, your tired mind supplies you with the assumption that maybe Sumi, Naho, and Kiyo are in the direction you are headed. The scene that meets your gaze, however, isn’t something that you expect nor even dream of.

               The esteemed Pillars – four of them, rather – sit side by side on one of the beds inside the ward while Mitsuri fusses on the other side of the room. Gyomei’s hands are clasped in prayer, muttering one Buddhist chant after another while Muichiro stands beside him, curiosity on the youngest Hashira’s usually vacant face.

               Obanai, who stands beside Mitsuri, is consoling the Love Pillar while glaring daggers at the four seated on the bed. Shinobu, on the other hand, is trying her best to contain her laughter but you can see that she is close to losing her grip.

               “My god, Kocho, stop laughing already!” Tengen says loudly from his seat between a seething Sanemi and a smiling Kyojuro. The wrap on his head is gone, and his silver hair is not so silver anymore – it’s the same pink as Mitsuri’s although lacking the green tint. “My beautiful wives can’t see me like this– or could they? Hmm…”

               “I still can’t believe that Kanroji’s sakura mochi can do this to our hair!” exclaims Kyojuro energetically, studying his own hair through a handheld mirror. Yellow is replaced with pink and the red tips of his hair are now lime green. “This is very curious! Very curious indeed!”

               Giyuu remains quiet as ever, his hair a reverse of Mitsuri’s – shocking green with pink tips. Sanemi, on the other hand, sports pink hair and his fringes are tinted green.

               “I can’t go out like this!” rages the Wind Hashira. “I look fucking ridiculous!”

               The bag in your hands slip through your grasp as you take in the scene before you. The sound and your presence finally catch the Pillars’ attention, and you can see three out of four shoulders stiffen at the sight of your blank expression.

               You cannot believe what you are seeing, but here Sanemi, Giyuu, Kyojuro, and Tengen are, sporting hair colours like Mitsuri’s. And judging from what you’ve heard from your master, it seems that the Love Hashira’s favourite sakura mochi is the cause of the sudden transformation.

               “Ah, [Name], my pupil!” Kyojuro greets you, hair swaying as he stands up. “I’m glad you have returned safe to us!”

               You meet Sanemi’s horrified gaze, and it is what has done you in.

               The sound of your knees hitting the wooden floor and one of your fists pounding against the surface sends the room in utter chaos as loud, hysterical laughter slips past your lips. Tears stream down your cheeks from how hard you are laughing, trying to convey your hilarity through words but they fail you. Your thought process just devolves into more frenzied laughter whenever your gaze lands from one of the four heads to another.

               “I’m so sorry! I didn’t know it could happen to you, too, from eating too much!” Mitsuri wails to the four afflicted Hashira amid your laughter, covering her face with embarrassment while Obanai practically hisses at anyone who looks at her.

               “Your hair turned that way… because of the mochi?” Muichiro asks, eyes wide as he stares at the Love Pillar while ignoring Obanai’s glare. “I… didn’t know…”

               “It seems that we are spared because we only ate a few of the mochi,” Gyomei surmises and rubs his hands together, the juzu beads on his grip tinkling. “It’s unfortunate that I can’t see those who are afflicted�� Namu Amida Butsu.”

               “This is no joke, Himejima-san!” Sanemi screeches angrily. He turns to look at you and stands up, grabbing you by the collar with both hands and attempting to shake you out of your laughter. “Quit laughing already, dumbass, and go help us!”

               “My, my, Shinazugawa-san!” Shinobu chirps from where she stands. “Does this mean you don’t like the new colours of your hair?”

               “I-I can’t anymore, ahahahahaha!” You laugh, not even minding the way Sanemi is manhandling you. You lightly pat the Wind Hashira’s head – laughing at his hair – and offer him a bright grin against his fierce (embarrassed) scowl. “You– You can’t even pull the colours off like Kanroji-san! She looks so pretty with her hair, and you guys…!”

               You devolve further into maniacal laughter, completely missing how Mitsuri brightens up at your praise and showers you with a thankful smile through her tears. Even Obanai’s glare at you softens somewhat.

               “Once we’ve had our fun, [Surname]-chan,” Shinobu tells you, amused, “let’s proceed with helping these four, alright?”

               “Y-Yeah…” you eventually agree, wiping away your tears and grinning at Sanemi when he eventually lets you go. “But you have a camera here somewhere, ne, Kocho-san? Maybe we can take a picture—“

               “It’s embarrassing,” Giyuu speaks for the first time since your arrival and cuts you off quietly, cheeks dusted lightly with pink.

               “Fucking shut up, Tomioka! That’s not the fucking point!”

               You fall down on the floor laughing again.
