how the fandom collectively decided that giyuu is the fandom bicycle, just so shippable and fuckable by almost all adult characters in the entire kny series is just so amazing to me
the pillars? literally so much chemistry with sanemi. every genre fits them. angst? fluff? crack? SMUT? 👌👌👌 YES.
also literally any above-mentioned category with other adult pillars. but especially tooth-rotting fluff with rengoku? being uzui's 4th spouse? love-hate relationship with obanai? ENORMOUS size difference with gyomei? even mitsugiyuu makes so MUCH SENSE. Don't get me started with shinogiyuu, tbh they're the first pairing I've ever thought of when I was new to the series. I love them so much.
giyuu's classic childhood friend genre with sabito. y'all can slap so much angst, what-ifs and fluff, crack with sabigiyuu. the astronomical amount of ideas you can do with them IS ASTONISHING AND ASTOUNDING. I can't even
the upper moons? My god i have a fic underway with giyuu x upper moons (except daki) with them fighting for his ass. i especially love akagiyuu and kokugiyuu. douma my insane husband is also in. lots of dead-dove-do-not-eat warnings for this guy. if you want to be extra spicy, you could pair giyuu with literally the four inside out clones of hantengu. if you're a lil messed up and creative, you can be innovative with gyokko. Gyutaro is also nice with him hate-praising giyuu like he did with tengen.
Just
The fucking list is so long.
I love giyuu so much

A new era
The galactic council has decided for the first time to put more than two different species in the same spaceship.
Many debated on what to put, how many, why. It went on for months. Then the council settled on three species, just above the maximum. They chose one individual of each so that if things turned sour, the casualties would be minimal. They chose the individual of each species carefully for the crew to be balanced.
A Kerox for its strategy and strength. They are a proud people, and not for nothing. They always had an advantage in wars thanks to their cleverness and ferocity. The council secretly hoped it would become the leader to preserve the truce with its species.
A Primavix for its natural scientific and medical abilities, as well as their extended knowledge of the world. The council wanted its inherent strength to be able to outbalance the Kerox if it turned too arrogant and obviously knew that the crew needed a medic.
A human for its adaptability. They would hope that it would become the link to tie the other two together and that it would learn fast in times of need. They chose one that could pilot and repair a ship, one that knew how to fight to not get taken down by the Kerox.
All those three species could breathe the same air and lived in groups. They could all be bipedal which would help with cohesion. They were generally all willing to find solutions to their problems when they arose.
On paper, it was perfect. But the council knew, reality was quite different. Their main concern was the Kerox. It was allowed on this mission to “make it feel special”, it had a great influence on its other members. They hoped this would keep the truce holding.
——
It was the day, the day where the Three Pillars of a new era would meet. The streets of the Capital were bustling with agitation. In each sector, anticipation could be felt from everywhere. In their own ways, everyone was impatient to see the beginning of a new era.
There was one clear path to the new vessel waiting for its inhabitants. The aliens sat on both sides, each stayed in their people’s designated spot. Everyone was here. They knew who was supposed to come, but they wanted to see, to smell, to listen, to feel them even if only from afar.
Then, they came.
First, there was the Kerox. Everyone knew about him, he was Scozar, The Scorching Sun. He was recognisable by his golden spear with sunny patterns on it.
He slithered his way on the path, his four powerful and muscular limbs propelling him forward. His grey scales took a tinted emerald hue under the powerful rays of moonlight. To the species that used infrared visions, he was cold, barely visible.
He stopped as naturally as he would jump and got on his two bottom legs. He stood tall and proud with his spear held high in a hand, his claws on the other one were usable. His sharp gaze passed on the crowd, like he was choosing which one he was going to eat.
The crowd fell silent. A low grumble could be felt through their bodies. His golden eyes were glowing with satisfaction. He was preparing something, wasn’t he?
That’s when the blue indigo feathers on his head, spine all the way to the tip of his tail, rose up. A few species backed down. He was even taller that way. There were black dots on each of his feathers. It was unnerving to have the feeling of being watched by so many eyes.
When seeing the reaction of the crowd, he somehow stood even taller with his head even higher. His teeth could be seen from there, his sharp, sharp teeth, as sharp as his gaze, as sharp as his claws. It made some species dizzy and terrified. He seemed to bask in the fear of others.
The aliens wondered if the galactic council was right to let a Kerox participate in such an important mission. Most of the species knew the galactic council had no choice but to put a Kerox there, they were too proud not to let them participate in such an event. They were afraid it would fail.
The Kerox went on the podium, naturally, taking the middle spot.
Then the Primavix came, one of the Ancient Ones, they saw the dawn of the intergalactic alliance.
They also made their entry on four legs. This time, it was slower, easier to track, like time had made its way through their body. Their tail balanced as they walked, at the end of it there was an appendage to grab objects.
They had a white cloth on them. It has lived for many years as well. Under the tattered gown, their black exoskeleton blended on their bones. They were thin, some species wondered how something this slim could survive without collapsing from starvation.
They rose up on their bottom legs. Instead of being arched on themselves, they had a straight posture. They put their two hands together in front of them. They raised their head, but instead of looking more aggressive, they radiated with sacred wisdom.
Their head was a mouth with a giant sphere on the top, the rays reverberated on it. A carapace shielded the back of its head. With their smooth black skin and their rugged white robe, they looked like a statue, the statue of an ancient god.
They walked elegantly towards the podium and stayed on their two bottom legs still in the same position.
The aliens were already more confident in the success of the council’s leap in the unknown. With a Primavix, a creature older than the council itself, the Pillars will have all the knowledge they need.
Finally the Human came. She too, was known by the people. She was Maena, The Ghost, captain of corsairs well known for their help for the galactic council.
She arrived on two legs. Her black coat on her shoulders floated behind her. It was held together by a yellow chain. She was bright to those with infrared vision. She advanced solemnly, with her arms behind her back. The crowd shifted, she had something that the other two didn’t have.
She stopped near the crowd. Her two brown eyes seemingly stopped on each one of the species watching every detail. Her expression was one of calm devoid of aggression, like an apex predator with no worries for their survival. Some species went silent again.
Then, her expression cracked. She showed her teeth, a gesture well known as a smile. She waved her hand at the crowd, a friendly movement. She now radiated with confidence and serenity, a quiet strength. The crowd relaxed, some even tried to mimic her.
The mask of danger was replaced, she was now a good friend. A friend to the galaxy, to the aliens present here and to the two other Pillars. Seemingly satisfied, she moved again and got on the podium.
She was small, smaller than the two other Pillars, smaller than the average human even. The crowd murmured, what could she do if the Kerox wanted her dead? But she was a human, and a human who knew how to fight.
Everyone had mixed feelings about the crew in front of them. They stood in the emerald light of the moon, side by side, they looked strong. But each one of them was so different, this strength could as well shatter them from the inside.
And they were only three, that wasn’t enough for an entire crew. The ship was small. Big enough for all of them, yes. But so small in comparison to the others. It was like the council wanted to spare the least resources they could, like they themselves didn’t believe in the “new era”.
But everyone cheered. They cheered to not anger the Kerox, they cheered in honour of the ancient Primavix, they cheered because the Human seemed to like it.

Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ gyomei himejema !!
- his biggest insecurity would be his immense strength
- hey, who wouldn’t like being strong and being able to beat up anyone in their path ?
- gyomei.
- we all know he’s an extremely kind hearted man, and hates hurting other living beings
- so imagine walking in on him one day, sitting on his knees - silently crying to himself
“gyomei? are you alright?!” you rush over to his side and he just sits there, looking into space. you run a hand over his arm in an attempt to get him to look at you, he turns his head in your direction - hot white tears spilling out of his eyes.
“ah, [name]. hello.” he speaks, you stare at his state and ask him what’s wrong - he stays quiet. you question him again, letting him know you wouldn’t judge him. he turns his head forward and opens his mouth to speak - “my.. strength. i am capable of many things, harming people. i do not wish that upon anyone.”
you smooth a hand over his forearm, reaching the beads he was holding in his hands. “gyomei, you are not a bad person. you have not hurt anyone, we’re hashira for a reason. we save people.” - “but demons used to be people too, before muzan kibutsuji - they had a life just like us.” you sigh at his words.
“gyomei, they were the people we couldn’t save. we cannot save everyone, but - saving a few is enough.” his white eyes flick downward toward the floor, blinking slowly. “i suppose. thank you, [name].”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ tengen uzui !!
- his biggest insecurity would be his inferiority complex
- he shows insecurities toward his fellow hashira, worrying he will never be as great as them.
- because of this, he locks himself away some days and sits training on his own terms
- abusing his mental and physical state immensely.
- imagine walking in on him as he trains himself to his knees, collapsing over and breathing heavy - clearly upset.
“tengen?! what are you doing?” you ask, standing in the doorway of his room - he glances back at you. “[name]? what are you doing in here?” he strains, sitting up - placing a hand on his knee. “do you need help?” you walk toward him, placing a hand on his shoulder and he looks back at you once more.
“no, im fine. thanks though.” - “tengen.” he blinks, holding his sword in a shaky hand - “do i look strong?” you raise your eyebrows at his question, “what do you mean? of course you do, do you not think that?” his gaze stiffens when you say that. noticing his stiff demeanor you glance down at his hands, he’s shaking.
“tengen, your abusing your power too much. you need to take a break, that’s why we have a schedule.” - “i don’t feel strong..” he whispers and your eyes widen at his response, “what? seriously? tengen, you are.” you brush your hand against his in a comforting manner, and he smiles weakly.
“thank you, [name]. sorry for this, maybe i do need to take a break!” - “yeah, i think you do.”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ kyojuro rengoku !!
- his biggest insecurity would be his unwavering will
- the way he wants to protect those weaker than him eats at his brain every night
- thinking of the people he couldn’t save, the people he couldn’t get to in time
- people suffered, because he couldn’t save them.
- imagine waking up and seeing him standing outside, looking at the moon with tears prickling his eyes at his thoughts.
“rengoku, are you okay?” you ask, walking up behind him as he stares at the moon somberly. he turns to the sound of your voice, blinking away his tears. “[name]! hello!” he shakes off his sadness quickly once he sees your face in order to hide it.
you notice this, and look at him sadly - “rengoku, what are you doing out here? it’s night..” - “sorry [name], i was just thinking.” he looks up at the moon again, sighing. “don’t apologize, is something bothering you? you can talk to me.”
he turns toward you once more at your reply, “it’s just.. all of the people i couldn’t save! suffering.” you watch him intently as he confesses his feelings, looking into his deep golden eyes. “rengoku, you have saved more people than i can count. more people than i have, that’s such an amazing thing.”
he smiles at your words, his sadness fading as you compliment him. his thoughts of not being able to save some people will never leave his brain, but knowing he’s saved just a few is more than enough for him. “thank you [name]! i don’t know what id do without someone like you!”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ sanemi shinazugawa !!
- his biggest insecurity would be his appearance
- having to cut himself to intoxicate demons is not anything short of brave.
- but it takes a toll on his self esteem, the cuts across his face, tummy, arms, etc.
- he didn’t really think about his looks after he saw what demons looked like, but it still eats away at him sometimes.
- imagine seeing him training and glancing in a window, his expression changing into an aggressive one at his own image - saying things how he looks disgusting, hideous, etc.
“sanemi! don’t say things like that!” you yell, running towards him. you knew sanemi quite well, especially since he was one of the most.. unique looking hashiras.
“[name]?! what the hell do you know? leave me alone.” he continues his training, turning away from you. “i heard what you said, and that’s untrue! you’re perfect! don’t say those things about yourself.” he stiffens at your confession but doesn’t stop training.
“what the hell? so you’re an eavesdropper? now scram!” he slashes one of the dummies heads clean off, you watch as his aggressive demeanor falters for a second after he finishes. “it’s not true, sanemi.”
he stays quiet, looking at the dummy - his face doesn’t change but you see him tightening his grip on his sword. “thanks [name].”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ giyu tomioka !!
- his biggest insecurity would also be his inferiority complex
- like tengen, he also feels inferior towards the other hashiras
- hence why he says he’s “different” than the rest of them.
- he isolates himself from the others quite frequently, and you begin to worry for him.
- imagine checking up on him and he’s laying in his bed, staring at the ceiling..
“giyu.. how are you doing?” you trot towards his bed, kneeling down. you’ve known giyu for a while, having a steady relationship - which has given him time to trust you. he stares for a bit before replying, “i’m tired today, i’ll get up soon.”
you look at him softly, placing a hand on his arm and he glances towards you - “i’m fine.” - “you’re not.” he looks back up toward the ceiling, he looks ill. “giyu, what happened? talk to me.” you squeeze his arm gently and he sits himself up, “nothing, [name]. i’m fine, just tired.”
you wait there, silent. you knew if you waited he’d eventually cave and tell you what’s wrong, and so he did. “i am different from the others, i am not like them.” - “what are you talking about? you’re as equal if not superior to the other hashiras. at least you are to me.” you smile at him, comforting his thoughts.
he sends you a weak grin before dropping it, “thank you, [name]. i will be fine, i promise.” - “i believe you, and please giyu - tell me if something is bothering you. i want to be here for you.”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ mitsuri kanroji !!
- her biggest insecurity would be her fear of rejection
- she’s always been concerned with the way she looks, acts, and how she appears to others.
- suppressing her true feelings, emotions, and personality in order to fit in.
- her being concerned that no one wants to marry her is a big deal to her, and it eats away at her constantly
- imagine you’re hanging out with her, and she asks you a question that makes you question her state of mind..
“[name], do you think anyone would want to marry me? be honest!” she asks, her cheeks burning - waiting for your reply. you look at her with wide eyes, chuckling at her question. “what do you mean? of course someone would want to marry you.” - “you’re not just saying that, right?”
looking into her eyes you can sense her lacking self esteem, you ask her why she feels like that and why is she asking you such a question? she falls silent, clutching onto her skirt - “it’s just.. what if i get rejected? i want to fit in y’know!” she confesses, tears prickling at her inner corners and you quickly go to console her.
“mitsuri! don’t be stupid, anyone would want to marry you! honest. listen, if i could marry you i would in a heartbeat! you’re the best person i’ve ever met.” she stares at you, then she begins to smile. “thank you so much [name]!! i just want to live happily ever after with someone.. y’know what i mean?!”
“yeah, i do.”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ obani iguro !!
- obani has many insecurities, but his biggest ones would have to be his appearance and background.
- growing up, the clan he was in never made him feel good enough. torturing him beyond repair.
- he’s grown up feeling worthless, and the scars across his mouth state just that.
- he can’t even look in the mirror without disgust, nor have friendships & relationships where he doesn’t feel inferior
- imagine seeing him without his mask on for the first time, and he freaks out - telling you how sorry he is for you to have witnessed something so horrific…
“[name]! sorry! i—“ he stutters, quickly reaching for his mask to wrap around his mouth - you just stare at him. “obani.. you look..” he cuts you off, clearly panicking.
“no, i know what you’re going to say. you don’t have to tell me twice, i know how disgusting i look.” you gasp at his words, there’s no way he just said that about himself. “obani, no! i wasn’t going to say that! you look great.. how can you ever say that about yourself?” you hurry over toward him, grabbing ahold of one of his hands.
“you don’t think so?..” he whispers, looking back at you with his yellow and blue eyes. “yes obani, you look amazing! i’m glad i saw you, now i really know what my friend looks like… and it looks great.” he smiles a little at your words, a pink hue laminating his cheeks out of slight embarrassment.
“thank you, [name].”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ muichiro tokito !!
- his biggest insecurity would be his forgetfulness
- i mean of course he would probably forget that insecurity because he forgets everything… however
- there are days when his mind is more clear, and he realizes all of the things he could achieve if he was always like that
- some days he wishes to himself to give him the ability to remember things more clearly, his friends, his things, his family.
- imagine finding him one day, seemingly upset over something you weren’t too familiar with until now …
“muichiro! hello!” you jog toward the boy who’s kneeled down on the ground, staring into the grass “hello? muichiro what are you doing?” you place your hands on your knees as you try to get a good look at his face, his cheeks were flushed and wet.
“muichiro? hey are you okay? talk to me.” you kneel down beside him and shake his shoulder a little, causing him to look at you. “huh? oh, hello. who..” he trails off, looking into your face - you look back at him sadly, he had forgotten you.
“muichiro it’s me, [name]. what are you doing? are you alright?” you ask, pulling your hand away from him and placing it onto your lap. “uh, i don’t know. i can’t remember.” he looks upset again, suddenly - a tear rolls down his cheek. “muichiro!”
“sorry, i just can’t remember.” he coils over and wipes a hand against his eyes, “i don’t know why i can’t remember.” - “muichiro it’s okay, please don’t cry. you’ll be alright, you’re here with me.” you smile at him and he looks up at you, his eyes glisten.
“i suppose, uh— sorry what was i talking about again?”
Tumblr media
₊˚ପ⊹ shinobu kocho !!
- her biggest insecurity would also be an inferiority complex
- she’s extremely insecure of her physical body, and how she’s not as strong as the other pillars.
- she curses herself for not developing further, and wishes she could be as physically strong as the others …
- it eats away at her confidence and self esteem, locking herself away from the others wasn’t uncommon
- imagine having a deep conversation with her, and she admits to feeling ashamed of her physical body to you…
“what? you really think that?” you gawk, and she nods. “i’m quite ashamed, really. i wish i was as physically capable as the others… i trust you with this knowledge, [name]. do you think so too?” she looks into your eyes and you can’t help but feel your heart silently breaking for her.
“no, i don’t. that’s absurd that you think that! you’re quite beautiful! why would you ever think that about yourself? you are just as capable as the others.” she smiles sadly at your words, looking down into her lap. “i suppose.” she sighs.
“don’t beat yourself up for it, seriously. i can tell you one thing, i know for certain you’re smarter than most of the hashiras here..” you laugh a little at your own comment and she does too.
“thank you, [name]. that really makes me feel better, you’re a great person. i’m happy to have you in my life.”
that’s it! i’ve finished :) this was really fun to write!! i love writing for the hashiras but tend to only do it when someone requests since it takes up a lot of my time to get through all of them - and i like to post fast. hope you’ve enjoyed !! <3

Pillars hanging out to drink
Sabito, drunk: Giyuu, sit next to me.
Giyuu, surprisingly sober: I—
Sanemi, equally drunk: Oi Tomioka, get your ass here next to me.
Giyuu: Oh, I—
Sabito, fiercely: A real man knows when another man is already with another man!
Sanemi, defiantly: Yeah, right! News flash idiot, we're all with "each other"! Stupid fucking idiot!
Sabito: And it's not manly at all when you curse!
Sanemi: Kiss my ass!
Sabito: Gladly!
Sanemi & Sabito: *starts making out aggressively*
Rengoku & Mitsuri: *cheering*
Obanai: *took a shot everytime Sabito said "manly" and is now lowkey drunk*
Shinobu: *amused*
Giyuu: Wait, what happened?
Tengen, giggling and leaning in: Blink twice if you're with these two idiots against your will.
Gyomei: *playing with a cat that passed by their table*

Dawn
Maena was sitting on top of the ship. She knew she could climb it when she saw its shape. She stared at the horizon where the red giant rose above the plains. It pushed the green moon away. The rays painted everything in vibrant orange hues. The dawn here looked more like a sunset on Earth.
With her head on her knees, she was lost in thoughts. She was chosen to be a Pillar, to represent the union of the different alien species, to be a beacon of light and peace. Yet, she already wanted to bash The Kerox’s head in the metallic walls of the ship… not that she could actually do that.
And she was pretty sure that the Kerox wanted to do the same. He was…angry, to say the least, and perhaps she was responsible for it. But she was angry too and had her reasons to fight back.
This…lizard didn’t seem to understand what they were doing. He only seemed to want to use this for personal gain, for power, for glory. She wasn’t exactly known for her good morals but at least she understood that she was chosen for a noble cause.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the scratching of the metal. She turned around to see The Primavix on their four legs with their tail grabbing the surface to help in their ascension. Then, they rose on their two feet.
They walked towards her with their hands joined, before pausing next to her. The sphere of their head washed in the flamboyant colours of the star. In some regards, they reminded Maena of the xenomorph in an old film, minus the horror, with something more regal.
-We apologise for not speaking with The Kerox, Human. We were in a new situation and we had yet to take a decision.
-No hard feelings. I guess not everyone is used to being caught up in an argument.
What was she even saying? She was talking as if she was the toughest here. She talked like the stereotype of the indomitable human. Out of the two of them she was surely the one who got in the least arguments. But The Primavix answered:
-It is true that it didn’t happen to us often.
Well, it was a nice change of pace from Scozar’s arrogant remarks. She almost felt bad. She added playfully:
-Besides, you did help me, I avoided fumbling in the dark thanks to you and being ripped to pieces.
-We are glad then.
-I am the one who should be glad. Thank you for your help back there.
Was it really all she had to say about it though? They saved her life. Was she just going to thank them and leave it be?
-Is there a question you would like to ask, Human?
She probably wanted to keep her guilt for later. Instead, she straightened up and put her two hands on the metal behind her, looking back at the star. She had to make a good “first” impression. What better way to achieve this but to ask for a name?
-I didn’t get your name. You are a Primavix but…that’s not exactly a name.
-A name can be many things, Human. It can be an adjective, a title, a natural phenomenon, or a new word with new meanings.
-Yeah, but, your name can’t just be the name of your species. You’re not just that are you? You’re not just a Primavix.
Perhaps, they were a Primavix with something else. They always say: “We”, “us”, Maena observed them, trying to find a second alien on them or next to them. She could only see The Primavix.
They seemed to ponder. She waited for their answer. They were old, apparently. They probably had trouble thinking.
-We had many names in our life, Human.
-Which one did you like?
-We liked them all.
That wasn’t going to help her. Was she just going to call them The Primavix each time? It felt too impersonal.
-Well that’s not exactly an answer is it?
-Our apologies, Human.
And again, she lacked any kind of diplomacy. It was fine with people she knew or people who thought like her. The Primavix was going to be her ally, she had to be nice. At least at the beginning where they are still getting used to her.
-No, no. Don’t apologise. It’s okay I guess. We’ll find solutions.
-Of course we and you will find a solution. You seem to be upfront about that kind of thing, Human. This will cease to be a problem soon.
That was oddly reassuring. There was a moment of silence.
Their voice was strange to Maena’s ears. Even with the translator, it gave her the impression of hearing the way the first computers on Earth talked. Except perhaps their voice was easier to understand and dragging on certain syllables.
She liked the way they pronounced the word “human”, it was soothing with the last letter dragging softly, like humming in a way.
Poor Primavix had to deal with Scozar in the darkness of the corridors.
-Was he aggressive to you?
-The Kerox wanted to settle in a place he deemed good for a den. He claimed it would be fit for a warrior like him.
The word “Human” sounded melodious in their voice but “Kerox” felt wrong. They sounded like a broken record when they tried to pronounce it. She wondered, did they resist as much as she did?
-Did you give it to him?
-We made no difficulties on the matter, Human. After all, we do not see the point in fighting and aggression and The Kerox seemed pleased with the outcome.
-You lived long enough to not give a care anymore.
-You could say it like this, Human.
They agreed with everything she said. It was a nice break from Scozar’s confrontational nature. She knew how she was going to keep her sanity. Peacefully, they said:
-The dawn is warm. It reminds us that we are alive.
-Yeah. It really is beautiful.
They both stayed there for a moment without a sound, without a movement. Just looking at the sky as it painted itself in red. After a moment Maena said:
-It could be your name.
-What could be our name?
-Dawn.
-Then we shall be called Dawn.
Being next to them gave her confidence. She already felt like she had a true ally by her side. Their presence was stress-relieving somehow.
-I think I like you Dawn. I like you better than the lizard.
-Thank you, Human. May we ask, what is a lizard, Human?
-Well, Scozar looks like a lizard, except lizards are way smaller with no feathers.
-We understand, Human. We like you too.
-Really?
-We already learnt something from you, Human.
-I’m glad.
She looked back at the horizon. They both stayed here, and enjoyed the star. It was peaceful and quiet.
Perhaps, this was truly the dawn of a new era and not just a suicidal project. Who knows? Perhaps, this will be the best adventure of her life, of the other’s lives. Only time will tell.
