What are the Main Applications of the Piezoelectric Ceramic Tube?
Introduction of piezoelectric ceramic tube
Piezoelectric ceramic tubes are the most commonly used type of ceramic tubes due to the versatility anc efficiency of their design. They have a variety of uses in electronics, micro-electromechanical systems, and sensors. Piezoelectric ceramics are valuable in these fields because they excel at transmitting power easily and making power voltages with low levels of distortion and noise.
This allows for more efficient transmissions such as those required for wireless communication. Piezoelectric ceramic tubes are built with a variety of piezoceramics including aluminium nitride and lead zirconate titanate.
Advantages of piezoelectric ceramic tube
The main advantages of piezoelectric ceramic tubes are their ability to have continuous duty cycles, their quick response times, and their ability to withstand high temperatures. These tubes have a very large range of frequencies that they can use.  Unlike other types of ceramic tubes, piezoelectric tubes are not limited to the frequency range that they were built for.
This is because they are piezoelectric, which means that they have the property of generating an electric charge when they are deformed, especially under a strong mechanical force. In this way, the property allows them to be used in many different situations as well as to cover large ranges of frequencies.
Piezoelectric tubes can protect more than just themselves. They can also be used to protect other devices placed in close proximity to them, such as those in the use of semiconductor chips. This is because piezoelectric ceramic tubes are the type of materials that are able to withstand the high temperatures of semiconductor chips. Although this has not been studied thoroughly, it is likely that piezoelectric ceramic tubes may have the ability to easily respond to electronic signals at much higher frequencies than other types of ceramic tubes. This is because of the high levels of mechanical forces that can be applied to them.
Piezoelectric ceramic tubes are not limited to just producing power and transmitting it; they can also work in the other direction, to generate a voltage after being mechanically deformed. This allows for easy device designs that are able to act as sensors as well. This property is mainly used in pressure sensors and accelerometers.
The main applications of piezoelectric ceramic tubes are in the field of electronics, micro-electromechanical systems, and sensors. This is because they are able to efficiently transmit power such as those required to power semiconductor chips without any loss in communication or quality of the signal. This allows for them to be used in many different situations such as being used as a sensor to accurately measure pressure and other mechanical forces.
Another field where they are commonly used is microfluidics. This type of technology requires piezoelectric ceramics because they can efficiently transmit and receive information in such liquids as opposed to other types of tubes.
Disadvantages of piezoelectric ceramic tube
The main disadvantages of piezoelectric ceramic tubes include the fact that their lifespan is low, coupled with the fact that their costs are relatively higher than those of comparable materials. These disadvantages are due to the difficulty in producing such tubes as well as their need for high levels of processing steps.
Most commonly, piezoelectric ceramic tubes are made from aluminium nitride and lead zirconate titanate. This is because these materials are able to easily withstand the high mechanical forces that their role requires without losing any of their properties. However, other materials have been used for this purpose as well, for example, quartz crystals and silicon piezoceramic ceramics.
Conclusion
Piezoelectric ceramic tubes have a variety of applications in electronics, micro- electromechanical systems, and sensors. Because of their piezoelectric property and ability to transmit power at high frequencies with little loss or distortion, they are able to be used in these fields with relative ease.
Piezoelectric ceramic tubes are relatively easy to design and can be built using a variety of materials for their construction. They are able to easily withstand the high mechanical forces that are required for their applications without losing any of their properties.

My strat is back in one piece and it functions!
The entire grounding issue was with the rhythm circuit so if I put it back in I'll probably avoid the sideways jazzmaster knobs and just put them upright like the others. Not doing anything until I can cut a new pickguard though. At which point I'll add the treble bleed circuit I had planned on as well. (And maybe a piezo pickup too)
There a bass cut knob now!
The only issue was the ends of the neck pickups wires wouldn't straighten out so I cut off a couple inches, soldered a new end, and held it together with heat shrink tubing, which was all a pain to figure out and not something I'd done before.
My next project will be reviving my first electric guitar, then I'll start on either the pickup disaster or the double neck I've been planning for a while

CD magic and snake oil
Every audio media has it's snake oil or magic powder to improve things.
I played a CD of Jazz by a Canadian Jazz Trio lead by Holly Cole. My wife does not care for it so... When I pulled it from it's jewel case it had a cute rubber gasket thing around it.
Back in the day there were many similar things. The rubber gasket thing was to suppress vibration. There were also rings of sorbothane that had adhesive backs to do the same thing. The theory was that the plastic disc spinning as fast as it did would vibrate and wobble making the laser focus tricky and needing the error correction digital parts to get the data off hence a reduction in sound quality. Not totally unreasonable.
Of course since it was on my CD I must have bought it. This was two or three CD players ago I think. This stuff did not come from the factory like that. I recall the sticky one had a centering tool to make sure it was PERFECTLY balanced. Yah sure! The gasket thing was like an elastic band with a channel cross section that grabbed the edge of the disc. Probably a bit more precise. Did it help? It didn't hurt I guess.
Fancy CD players had dynamic balancing and extreme vibration isolation. That is what made them so expensive. Chips are chips and all the digital stuff is chips. The laser focusing device is gloriously analog with a lens that is moved by a coil fed a signal. Maybe later versions used piezo actuators, but that does not matter. Lasers are pretty boring things now unless you are a cat.
Rubber bits were not the only thing they tried. There was the notorious green marker. That was applied to the outer circumference of the CD to block light that may interfere with the laser. Red Laser green marker. I am sure the inventor went to the local school or office supply store and cleared them out of green markers, had labels printed and made a fast fortune.
I have had CDs fail for various reasons and when that happens they chirp like birds as the error correction goes out.
After my wife complained I put on a Josh Bell CD. Violins are pretty tricky to record and reproduce. This Sounds pretty fine as I am sure care was taken to keep it clear. CDs can sound quite nice. Hey did you know that Josh Bell breathes when he plays. Maybe if he inhaled with an open mouth it would not be so prominent. Audiophile detail can be annoying sometimes. This disc has no gaskets or rim treatments so there.
I have not bought a CD for a while. I probably will not add any gaskets if I get a new one. If it has music I want it is possible.
By comparison there is little I have done with my vinyl. (CDs are polycarbonate)
My LP treatment is limited to cleaning it with my old disc-washer brush and new "groove-washer" fluid. I clean it lightly every time I play them. Even in the nice archival MOFI slip sleeves they can get dust on them. (Even Cat Hair! Shudder!!). At least this is a no-smoking home.
Some LP fiends play thier records wet. I mean actually wet with fluids of strange types passed over by moon crystals. The idea is not totally crazy, lubrication can be good I guess. Still I do not do that.
I do play my records with a weight on the centre. I have a cork mat under the factory slip mat which I know makes a difference. It really suppresses vibration and makes the beast quieter.
Aside from those things I do fiddle with different phono cartridges from time to time. I mean why have so many and not play with them. I am sure it is disappointing to some that they sound pretty similar to one another.
On duty today Yamaha S300 CD player ARC SP14 preamp (Russian tube) and the infamous Franken-Amp with my invisible speakers.

DIY ProCo RAT: The True Vintage Distortion Pedal
Tumblr media
Hello, and welcome to my guitar effects workshop! This circuit has existed for 46 years and is not that popular today. But if you want tons of vintage mojo, you should consider buying or making a ProCo RAT yourself.
This is one of the world's first full-fledged distortion pedals. Do you know why they stand out among other overload effects?
Fuzz is a highly high-gain pedal; it distorts the signal significantly and gives it a very specific sound, completely different from tube amplifier overdrive. However, fuzz is not technically an amplifier. The fuzz needs an amplifier with a cabinet to create the timbre of the sound. Adding fuzz to the line input will be a mistake; the sound will be terrible.
Overdrive, on the other hand, is a moderate gain pedal. Combined with the clean channel of a Fender-like amp, it gives the sound-breaking blues vibe. If connected to the input of an already overdriven amp like Marshall or Orange, the overdrive pedal not only pumps up the gain but also focuses the sound, emphasizing certain frequency bands and suppressing others.
Overdrives have built-in signal limiters on diodes, LEDs, or MOSFETs. Still, setting the gain so high that the limit triggers is unnecessary. It is assumed that we're clipping an overdriven amp plus the internal clipping of the overdrive pedal.
Boosters should also be mentioned; when the headroom is large, they do not limit the signal but simply increase its amplitude. Today, they are often built into electric guitars, especially bass guitars.
Some pickups, like the EMG and Fishman Fluence, have built-in boosts. And for electro-acoustic guitars with piezoelectric pickups, a built-in preamplifier is a must, taking into consideration the high output impedance and weak signal of the piezo pickup.
Tumblr media
Transparent boosters have an amplitude-frequency response close to linear, like the 1968 Electro-Harmonix LPB-1 Linear Power Booster does.
Tumblr media
A variation called Screaming Bird was released in 1970, and it was a treble booster, a much-needed item for many vintage tube amps.
Tumblr media
Thanks to the Screaming Bird, the clean sound became crisper, individual notes were clearer, and the presence of the guitar in the mix was more obvious. The amplifier did not choke on the bass when overloaded, so the result was not fuzz but overdrive or distortion.
Tumblr media
Here is the 1965 diagram of the British Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster. I won't claim that Mike Matthews copied it when developing the EHX LPB-1; it's just a transistor stage with a common emitter. Such stages are found in many pedals, radios, and so on. But I won’t rule out this possibility either; we learn from each other.
Tumblr media
Guitar amplifiers were also produced under the Dallas Rangemaster brand.
Tumblr media
Besides the Linear Power Booster and Screaming Bird Treble Booster, as you might have guessed from the diagram, EHX released the Mole Bass Booster.
Tumblr media
The pedal-style version of the bass booster was called Hog's Foot.
Tumblr media
Finally, some buffers do not only change the frequency spectrum of the signal but also its amplitude. Simply put, they have high input and low output impedance, thus helping to mitigate signal losses in the effects chain. The loss of high frequencies due to the influence of cable capacitance is the primary candidate for such an application.
The amplification devices between the electric guitar and the amplifier input can differ. Then what is distortion?
A full-fledged distortion is already a preamplifier, equipped with clipping and timbre shaping. Theoretically, it can be connected to the input of a power amplifier with a guitar cabinet for a fair level of sound quality.
Not every distortion pedal is an amp in a box. And most amps in a box sound even better when connected to the input of a tube amp rather than a power amp. However, each distortion pedal has its own character and recognizable sound.
So here we have the 1978 ProCo RAT circuit diagram. If you're familiar with guitar pedal circuitry, you know that most distortion circuits look similar or have similar building blocks. Because it was ProCo RAT that laid these circuitry foundations.
Tumblr media
Many filters will catch your eye if you know what to look for in the diagram. First, an input filter consists of a 22 nF series capacitor, a 1 kΩ resistor, and a grounded 1 nF capacitor.
The 30 pF capacitor is a standard component to compensate for the frequency characteristics of the good ol' LM308 op-amp.
It is believed that only the LM308 can provide authentic RAT sound. That's true; the circuit is very dependent on the specific characteristics of the op-amp, namely frequency response and slew rate.
Tumblr media
Since 2005, ProCo RAT pedals have been using OP07 operational amplifiers, almost a complete analog of the LM308. With the LM741, the circuit also works and sounds fine, but nothing like the original one.
A 100 pF capacitor between the output and the inverting input is found in many pedal circuits. It prevents the op-amp from self-oscillating and generating unpleasant high-frequency sound components called "sand."
Tumblr media
There are as many as two RC circuits between the op amp's non-inverting input and ground: 4.7 uF 560 ohms and 2.2 uF 47 ohms. From previous articles on guitar pedals, we already know that such a filter stage determines the frequency structure of the overdrive.
Pedals like the Hermida Zendrive and Horizon Devices Precision Drive feature a reconfigurable filter. And ProCo RAT has two of those. This is one of the secrets to the pedal's famous sound character.
Next, a limiter on two back-to-back diodes is included, followed by another filter acting as a tone regulator.
Finally, the pedal's output includes a JFET buffer and volume control.
The Landtone kit I've assembled has an original vintage LM308 with signs of re-soldering. RAT distortion sounds the way it should with this chip.

Quick and Easy Fixes for Common Gas Grill Problems
Tumblr media
On the off chance that your gas flame broil is moderately new and fit as a fiddle yet, at that point abruptly fires misbehaving, you can presumably get it back to great working request rapidly and without any problem. At the point when a gas barbecue is working appropriately, the fire is equally conveyed through the burners, the fire itself is blue with yellow tips, and the flame broil should warm rapidly on the high setting. With all burners on, there ought to be no distinction in temperature anyplace on the cooking surface. In the event that this isn't the manner by which your barbecue works.
Comprehend the Parts and Functions of a Gas Grill
Gas begins either in the gas tank or a gas line. The gas goes through a controller (to restrict the gas pressure), through a complex to split it between the burners, at that point through the control valves where you change the stream rate to control the temperature.
From here it goes through the venturi cylinders to blend in with oxygen so it can consume. The last advance is into the burners and out through the burner ports to make the obvious fire. Over the burners, you have some kind of hindrance that secures the burners and assists with appropriating the warmth. The obstruction gets drippings from nourishments so they can be scorched off by the warmth of the barbecue.
Wellbeing First Prior to Troubleshooting
Continuously ensure that you have killed your tank valve and detached your flame broil from its fuel source before you accomplish any work on your barbecue. In the event that you have had your barbecue on, ensure it has chilled off totally. On the off chance that you had the gas on, give the barbecue five minutes for the gas to disperse prior to investigating.
Issue: Low Flame, Low Temperature
This is a typical issue with numerous flame broils and is quite often in view of the fuel line controller (the UFO-formed thing on the gas hose close to the fuel tank). Controllers will in general be clingy. At the point when they stick, they limit the measure of gas and won't produce a decent barbecuing temperature. To turn around this, discharge the tension on the controller to reestablish typical fuel stream by following these means:
Open the flame broil cover.
Mood killer the gas at the propane tank.
Detach the gas line from the tank.
Turn all control valves to high (counting the side burner in the event that you have one).
Hang tight for one moment.
Turn all control valves to off.
Reconnect the gas line to the tank.
Gradually turn on the gas at the tank.
Light the barbecue.
Your barbecue should now warm regularly.
To shield the controller from staying once more, turn off the flame broil's control valves first, at that point turn off the tank valve or flammable gas flexibly line. Continuously open the tank valve gradually. On the off chance that this doesn't work allow it a subsequent attempt. Delicately tapping the controller during stage five may help. In the event that you actually have a low fire, at that point you most likely have a defective controller that should be supplanted.
Issue: Yellow or Orange Flame
Check the control valve(s) and venturi tubes for block and arrangement. Ensure that the progression of fuel is ceaseless. The venturi cylinders may not be appropriately adjusted and the venturi screens may require change by doing the accompanying:
Find the venturi tube change screw. This screw delivers the shades.
Light the barbecue and go to low.
Slacken the screw and open the shades until the fire is generally blue.
Mood killer gas and fix the change screw.
Allow the flame broil to cool.
Check the burner for stopped up gas openings. You can normally observe this issue by seeing how the flame broil consumes. In the event that there are spots without fire, at that point you most likely have an obstructed burner. Take a stab at cleaning the burner or letting it consume on high for 15 minutes.
Issue: Uneven Heating/Hot Spots
The fundamental explanation behind lopsided warming is an impeded burner. Burners have a progression of openings or ports at the edges that gas courses through to create the fire. Every now and again, drippings run over the burner and obstruct the ports. Utilize a wire brush to eliminate these stores from the burner and reestablish ordinary gas stream.
Here and there the burners become so stopped up that you need to eliminate the burner from the flame broil to clean it. With certain barbecues, you can basically lift out the burners while others are rushed set up and might be more hard to eliminate. On the off chance that you can without much of a stretch eliminate the burner from the flame broil, clean the region altogether with a firm wire brush. Try to eliminate all the garbage from within the burner. Try not to utilize stove cleaner or brutal cleansers on your burners. These synthetic compounds can create additional consumption of the metal and abbreviate their life expectancy.
Issue: Gas Grill Just Won't Light
A few barbecues have press button (piezo-electric) igniters and others are battery-fueled. On the off chance that you have the battery type, take a stab at supplanting the batteries. Decide whether you are creating a flash in the igniter unit. The igniter will be almost one (or a few) of the burner(s). A few flame broils have autonomous start, some have a solitary igniter that lights all the burners.
In the event that you have free start and none of the burners will light, at that point you have a broken catch or the wiring is terrible. You may need to get these parts supplanted.
In the event that you have free start and one of the burners won't light, or you have a solitary igniter and none of them will light, you presumably have something stopping up that igniter. Pull off the cooking meshes and hindrance to get to the burners. Find the influenced igniter and press the catch. You should see a little start and hear a solitary snap for piezo-electric or a surge of snaps for electric start. On the off chance that the igniter is stopped up, cautiously clean it and test it once more.
On the off chance that there isn't anything obstructing the igniter, at that point you have to review the wiring. Flawed wiring or switches must be supplanted.
Issue: Grill Produces a Lot of Smoke
This is ordinarily brought about by a huge develop of oil on your flame broil. Give it a decent cleaning and preheat the flame broil for 15 minutes to consume off any leftover buildup.
Issue: Flame From Under the Grill, Behind the Control Panel
This is brought about by skewed or impeded venturi tubes. After the barbecue has cooled, examine to ensure all parts are fitting together. Check hoses and fuel lines to guarantee they are not broken, softened, or consumed.
Gas Grill Parts and Repairs
Most parts for any barbecue made in the previous 10 to 20 years can be discovered on the web, however they might be extravagant. Before any home fix, ask yourself "Does this barbecue address my issues?" If the appropriate response is indeed, at that point sort it out. On the off chance that the appropriate response is no, at that point you should begin searching for another gas barbecue. Here are some regular issues and investigating strategies for the various pieces of your gas flame broil.
The Tank: Modern propane tanks, commanded by the legislature, contain an Over Fill Prevention (OPD) Device. This makes it so a propane tank can't be overloaded. Seldom, the OPD on your propane tank can be harmed making the tank work mistakenly.
Fuel Hose and Regulator: The yield of a propane tank or your petroleum gas line is a lot more prominent than you requirement for flame broiling. The controller controls the measure of fuel that can stream to your flame broil. This joins to the tank (or petroleum gas line) with an adaptable hose with an O-ring to make an impermeable seal. Controllers are preset by the maker and ought not be changed by you. On the off chance that you take a gander at your controller you will see a little vent opening in the middle. Basic issues are stopped up vent openings, which can cause unpredictable fuel stream and can prompt difficulty. Generally, you can clear it by tapping or blowing into the vent. Different issues are fuel spillage brought about by a ragged or harmed hose or O-ring. To decide whether there is spilling blend dish cleanser and water in equivalent parts and coat everything from the tank to the control valves with the combination and check whether it creates any air pockets. The tank should be associated and on however the control valves off. In the event that you discover a break, supplant that part.
Control Valves: The controls valves direct the progression of fuel to the burner. Every burner on your flame broil has a control valve. You can't fix an awful control valve and if need be, you ought to supplant the entire unit. Before you do, in any case, eliminate the control valve from your flame broil and examine it. Like different pieces of your flame broil, creepy crawlies love to move in here to settle. At the focal point of the control is the opening. The opening controls the progression of fuel and can get stopped up. In the event that it is, utilize a slim wire to wipe out. Ensure you set up everything back the manner in which you discovered it. Without the hole, you can't manage the measure of gas streaming to the burner and risk blast for full information Visit here.

I have to record one minute of music for @jailbreakguitars custom shop, it will be the soundtrack of a video they’re shooting. This is how I recorded the first part of the acoustic guitar, some little technical details below.. 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 Three sources: two mics set up + Maton Piezo: with the Neumann U87 pointed toward the sound hole to pick up the lower frequencies, and the second mic (Apex 460 tube mic set in Omni pattern) pointed far toward the fingerboard to pick up the attack and the room. The acoustic guitar’s frequency range covers several octaves, which means a wide range of different audio wavelengths. Since the mics are a fixed distance from the source, those different waves will arrive at the mics at different points. So, after recording, I always check the phase! 🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑 #studio #studiorecording #record #analogrecording #analog #gear #porngear #tape #reeltoreel #digitalrecording #daw #capitanomerletti #pipapop #pipapoprecords #spacemusic #likesforlikes #spacerock #neumann #teac #tips #tascam #italia #homestudio #tricks #waves #phase #protools #mastering #compression #compressor (presso Studio Garp) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_7HUWKiwW9/?igshid=ltnz6jgapdjq

Motion Through the Ether
Using a novel interferometer, the author claims to have demonstrated the existence of the ether and to have disproved the principle of Relativity.
Electronics and Wireless World, May 1989.
Conducted by American physicist E.W. SILVERTOOTH
The famous Michelson-Morley experiment failed to detect our translational motion through the ether. It did not establish that the speed of light was referred to the observer moving with the apparatus. What it did was to prove that the average velocity of light for a round trip between a beam splitter and a mirror was independent of motion through space. The author supposed that the one-way speed of light, or more specifically its wavelength, did depend upon that motion, but in away that satisfied the exact null condition of the Michelson-Morley result.
Tumblr media
However, the Sagnac experiment, as embodied in the ring laser gyros now used in navigational applications, showed that if a light ray travels one way around a circuit, and its travel time is compared with that of a light ray going the other way around the circuit, the rotation of the apparatus is detectable by optical interferometry. Here the result is just as if there is an ether and the speed of light is referred to that ether.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Readers will have great difficulty finding a book on Relativity that even discusses the Sagnac experiment or the later experiment by Michelson and Gale that detected the Earth's rotation.
In the modern version of the Sagnac experiment a single laser divides its light rays and sends them around a loop in opposite directions, but the resulting standing waves are not locked to the mirror surfaces as they are in the Michelson-Morley experiment.
It was my assumption that the different wavelengths presented by rays moving in opposite directions along that path would allow a detector to sense a modulation or displacement of the standing wave system along the common ray path. The secret was to move the detector or the optical system along a linear path, rather than rotate the optical apparatus, as in the Sagnac experiment. A little analysis showed that such effects would exhibit a linear first-order dependence on v/c and that the detector would need to scan through a distance that was inversely proportional to v/c in order to cycle through a sequence of that standing wave pattern.
This was exactly what I found when the experimentwas performed.
THE STANDING-WAVE SENSOR
Tumblr media
The one-beam interferometer or standing wave sensor consists of a photomultiplier tube conlprising two optically flat windows, with a semitransparent photocathode of 50nm thickness deposited on the inner surface of one window. The tube also con- tains a six-stage annular dynode assembly such that a collimated laser beam can pass through the tube.
In the application described in reference 1 the beam was reflected back on itself by a mirror to set up standing waves. The performance of the wave sensor was tested by incorporating a tiltable phase-shifter between the sensor and the mirror. This provided an adjustable displacement of the standing wave relative to the sensor. The object of the test was to measure the effective thickness of the photosensitive surface, to estimate the precision available from the sensor for making measurements on standing waves. Signal-to-noise ratio for the photocathode when positioned at an antinode compared with that at a node was measured as approximately 20,000 to 1. This was shown to correspond to detection of photoelectrons in the 50nm thickness of the photocathode, which assured us that position measurement within a standing wave could be made to within 1% of the laser wavelength.
Three such wave sensors were fabricated at Syracuse, New York, by the General Electric Company of the USA from standard parts of image orthicons. For this experiment, the sensorwas connected asshown in the arrangement of Fig.1.
If we write the wavelength of light moving one way as λ1 and the wavelength of light moving the oppositeway as λ2, then
(λ1 - λ2)/λ=λ/Δ
where λ is the nominal wavelength of the laser output and Δ is the displacement distance that was measured as corresponding to a phase reversal in the standing wave oscillations. In a typical measurement Δ as defined in the equation above was 0.025cm at its minimum; and since the nominal laser wavelength λ was 0.63μm, and the wavelengths depending upon the spatial orientation were λ1 = λ(1+v/c) and λ2=λ(1-v/c), it is clear that the maximum value of v is given by 2v/c = (0.000063)/(0.025) = 0.00252.
Since c is 300,000 km/s this gives v as 378km/s on the day when this particular test was performed. The axis of the photodetector making the linear scan through the standing wave was directed towards the constellation Leo when this maximum value of v was registered. Six hours before and after this event the displacement of the detector revealed 110 phase changes, meaning that the photodetector was then being displaced perpendicular to its motion relative to the ether.
The experiment has been repeated in a variety of configurations over the past several years. Values of Δ measured have all ranged within ±5% of the cited value. The micrometer is graduated in increments of 0.0025 millimetres. However, a micrometer drive is too coarse to set the interferometer on a fringe peak. This is accomplished by means of a third piezo actuator supplied from a DC source through a ten-turn potentiometer which provides conveniently the finesse forsetting on afringe peak.
Since the author first disclosed this discovery there has been a great deal of effort by a number of individuals in different countries, including USA, West Germany, UK, Italy, France and Austria, all aimed at theorizing as to why the experiment works, or why it should not work.
The author, however, declines in this article to go into the mathematical argument that underlies the theory involved, simply because that itself becomes a topic of debate and it tends to detract from the basic experimental fact that appears in the measurement.

Best outdoor speakers for your backyard or patio
New Post has been published on https://www.uberbuyer.com/2018/07/13/best-outdoor-speakers-for-your-backyard-or-patio/
Best outdoor speakers for your backyard or patio
Stop using your smartphone as a speaker. It sounds like crap.
The best way to listen to music outside is through a sound system with great speakers. Speakers that won’t muffle the sound, or make it feel strange with a series of hisses and pops.
Finding a good pair of speakers is easy when you’re trying to build a sound system inside of your home, but finding the same kind of high audio quality for the outdoors can be tricky.
If you have a great backyard, patio, deck, or swimming pool, you need a really good pair of speakers to fully enjoy and get the most out of lounging around on lawn chairs or floating on an inner tube. But you can’t use the same speakers for your living room as you do in your backyard. For one thing, indoor speakers aren’t built to carry audio in wide open spaces. A good set of outdoor speakers can spread audio equally, while also being waterproof and weather-resistant to the nasty elements when not in use.
Our pick for the best outdoor speaker is this pair by JBL, which is versatile enough to work both indoors and out. This one by Dual Electronics is our pick for the best budget option. To see our full list of the best outdoor speakers, keep reading.
We compiled this list for a wide range of people, budgets, and activities, so you can go back to enjoying the outdoors more quickly. Here are 11 of the best outdoor speakers for your backyard or patio:
Best budget outdoor speakers: Dual Electronics.
The LU43PB High Performance speakers from Dual Electronics are the best speakers you can buy at such a low price. The pair are made with a 20mm tweeter piezo dome and a 40mm polypropylene cone, and only weigh 2.8 pounds as a set. They feature 100 watts of peak power with a frequency range between 100Hz and 20kHz and a 4-inch woofer built-in for improved sound every time you use them. They’re even weather resistant and durable, which makes them ideal for the outdoors.
The best part of these speakers is their rock bottom price. The speakers are $32.99 for a pair on Amazon. The set even comes with a one-year warranty.
For great audio balance, give JBL a shot.
The audio company JBL is known for their signature style and sound with their high-end speakers and headphones. The company’s 23T 2-Way 3-1/2″ indoor/outdoor speakers deliver excellent sound quality and natural balance in a compact form factor.
The speakers are made to deliver accurate sound in a contemporary and clean design. They are also made to fit in virtually any existing sound system, so they’ll sound good no matter what kind of setup you have. The speakers feature JBL’s WeatherEdge, which is, according to the product listing, “a seamless, rubberized extension of the woofer surround that provides added protection to critical transducer elements.” Simply put, they’ll deliver the same audio quality whether you’re indoors or out.
The come in black or white and retail for $232.00 for the set.
We like these Bose speakers for their inconspicuous design.
This omni-directional outdoor in-ground speaker from Bose is cleverly designed to blend into your lawn or a hedge of bushes, so you can always get great sound without ever noticing where the sound is coming from. Just bury the green speakers in the ground and you’ll get a great audio experience each and every time you use them.
The 4.5-inch full-range driver offers true 360-degree high fidelity, deep bass, and crystal clear sound at only 100 watts of power. You’ll always get the richest sound no matter where you are in the yard. While the speakers also offer full studio sound in your own backyard, Bose also guarantees rugged all-weatherproofing no matter how cold, icy, wet, hot, dry, or muggy the weather.
The retail for $449.00 for the pair on Amazon.
Best high-end speakers: Bose 251.
Bose is one of the most trusted and reliable brand names in luxury audio. You’re going to get high-end quality and sound at a high-end and premium price — which is why this brand shows up more than once on our list. The Bose 251 Environmental Outdoor Speaker set features 2.5-inch full-range drivers and 5.25-inch woofers for outstanding audio quality. The speaker weighs about eight pounds each for long-lasting durability and world-class style.
They were made with the great outdoors in mind with their water resistant and all-weather build. The good people at Bose tested the speakers at very rough conditions to withstand extreme heat up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit to the bitter cold down to -22 degrees Fahrenheit. These speakers are battle tested to deliver the best and brightest sound no matter the weather.
The retail for $398.00, but you know you’re going to get something from Bose that sounds and looks good too.
Take the party with you with the Fugoo Style XL.
Sometimes you just need to take the party with you. The Fugoo Style XL speaker delivers premium audio with rich and full tones and deep and heavy bass in a package that’s completely portable and Bluetooth-ready, so anyone with a smartphone can be the DJ. The device will churn out up to 35 hours of sound before it needs another charge. It’s compact and light, weighing under four pounds, so you can take the speaker with you to the beach or a friend’s backyard.
The powerful speaker is waterproof and will even work under three feet of water for a whopping 30 minutes, while it’s also dust-proof with a IP67 rating, so feel free to take this bad boy to the beach or in the pool. It features eight drivers, including a subwoofer radiator, mid-woofers, and tweeters for an immersive sound experience that’s delivered in a full 360-degrees with a range of 33 to 120 feet for parties indoors and out.
The ultra-portable retails for $169.99. There’s even a smart home version that’s $50 more, which works seamlessly with Google Voice Assistant and Apple’s Siri for voice commands.
The Boston Acoustic SoundWare speaker is powerful and stylish.
Although the SoundWare XS Satellite Outdoor Speaker from Boston Acoustic delivers powerful and clear sound with its 1/2-inch dome tweeter and 2.5-inch mid-bass driver, it’s also very stylish thanks to an angular shape that gives you better audio and more directional options. Available in black or white, the speaker’s shape gives you more options for placement, such as tough corners and unique configurations and setups like you might find outdoors.
Amazon customer writes:
“I could not be happier with this set up. Excellent sound overall from such a tiny speaker and have no complaints to date. I have continually put these through the ringer with no distortion. I was pleasantly surprised on how well they sound no matter which channel you address them. Finish is holding up and still looks perfect.”
The retails for $79.00.
Best for audiophiles: Klipsch AW-650.
If you have a pair of expert ears and want the best audio quality while you’re lounging in your pool or just in your backyard, then the Klipsch AW-650 Indoor/Outdoor Speakers are for you. The set features a UV-resistant ABS casing with an aluminum grille that’s completely durable and rust-proof, so the speakers were built to take harsh damage from the elements.
The speakers deliver crisp and detailed sounds with spotless highs and strong lows that will keep any audiophile happy while floating on an inner-tube. Klipsch also designed them to consume less power than typical outdoor speakers, so that’s another thing that will put you at ease, as you’re enjoying the relaxation of your beautiful patio.
Want easy installation? Polk Audio is a good bet.
The Atrium 4 Outdoor Speakers from Polk Audio feature the company’s “speed-lock mounting system” for easy and safe one-handed installation. It was designed with fewer moving parts to make installation and mounting a simplified process, even for outdoor use.
The speakers’ internals feature a broad soundscape and acoustic design that makes the speakers sing with a full-range of sound in large areas. Spec-wise, the speakers each come with a 4.5-inch long-throw driver and a ¾-inch tweeter with a frequency response between 12KHz to 20KHz to maximize wide open spaces.
Polk Audio’s Atrium series also exceeds baseline industrial and military specs for all-weather conditions and environmental endurance. Each speaker was made with anodized aluminum tweeter domes with rubber surrounds that are pretty much immune to the elements, especially rain, snow, and extreme heat.
The retail for $99.99.
Hide speakers in your yard with the Niles Granite Pro.
If you’re looking for an outdoor speaker that will perfectly blend into the scenery, then Niles RS8Si Granite Pro Weatherproof Rock Loudspeaker is the one for you. It’s shaped like a rock to hide among others in your backyard landscape, while it’s painted with a special “no-fade” paint to keep the speaker nicely camouflaged through the summer and beyond. As the name suggests, the loudspeaker is weatherproof, so it can really stand up to wear and tear from the elements, no matter how severe.
The outdoor speaker doesn’t just look good, but it also fits the role as a powerful and clear speaker with a two-way, eight-inch dual tweeter, as it can output sound in mono, two-speaker sound, or single-speaker stereo audio. This loudspeaker is no joke. It weighs about 30 pounds, so it might actually feel like a heavy rock when you pick it up.
The retails for $399.00.
The price is right for these party-ready speakers.
Yamaha is having a party and you’re all invited. The NS-AW150 Outdoor Speakers from Yamaha feature balanced and full audio capacity with crystal clear sound and controlled bass from their 5-inch polypropylene woofer and a ½-inch tweeter that were designed primarily for the outdoors. However, while the audio is perfectly balanced, it’s not annoying or too loud to bother the neighbors. The best part about the speakers are their very affordable price at under $100, so you can spend more money on beer and munchies for your party guests.
Amazon customer writes:
“I’ve had these speakers up now for over a year and am very pleased with everything. I was able to place them under our eaves of our deck so that we can enjoy them both on the 2nd floor (deck) and/or down on our ground level patio. As someone else mentioned, the fact that these speakers are in the eaves, it seems like it helps the bass have a little more ‘boom.’ The sound quality is fine…probably a bit better than expected…the power is just about perfect because if I turn them up to what I consider ‘loud’…I can hear them at all areas of our backyard and our yard is good sized. The great thing is that the sound seems to drop off quickly, so that our music doesn’t bother the neighbors as they can barely hear it.”
Our pick for the best mid-range outdoor speakers are these by Kicker.
These speakers are perfect for anyone with a mid-sized backyard, patio, or pool thanks to audio quality between 55 Hz and 21 kHz at 150 watts of power. Kicker designed the KB6000s to be mounted outdoors, so audio coming out of these speakers really fill outside spaces with ease.
The sound is wide, robust, and dynamic with crystal clear mids and highs with fair enough bass, but it’s recommended to use these speakers with a subwoofer to get the most out of them. The speakers are really easy to install, which is one of its biggest selling points for people setting up parties or outdoor theaters in their backyards.
Amazon customer writes:
“I have had these about 2 weeks now. Set them up under my patio facing out towards my pool area. I paired them up with a Pyle receiver and a second pair of OSD rock speakers. These simply sound great. They fill the space with great sound and have excellent bass response for a speaker outdoors. Just remember unless you have an outdoor subwoofer you are not going to shake the ground. But compared to higher end speakers these sound amazing. I have had higher end speakers, such as Klipsch reference series speakers and Dynaudio speakers for indoor use. These speakers sound great especially for outdoor use. Would not hesitate to buy again.”
The retail for $98.05 on Amazon.

how to choose a cigar lighter
Whilst choosing the best Cigar lighter is partly a matter of personal preference we can offer some insight into choosing a high quality one that suits your purpose. Lighting a cigar properly is not the same as lighting a cigarette, and flame type is an important consideration when looking for the best cigar lighter. Most modern cigar lighters use butane as fuel and the torch flame (jet flame) can vary. Torch lighters come in single flame, dual flame, triple torch, quad flame and table top. No matter what you choose or at what price point, a good cigar lighter will get the job done.
Tumblr media
A Butane fuelled Torch Flame
A flame of a butane light is essential to really light the end of a cigar. While normal lighters and BICs produce shaky flames, a good butane cigar light provides a steady, strong heat flow. Butane is not cheaper, in the long run you could save money by using a lighter with a much stronger lighter such as a butane lighter. In the short term, the savings from the higher cost of the lighter are negligible and in the longer term it could save you money.
By default, most cigar lighters have a measurement that shows how much butane is in the tank, but if you can combine a simple refill area with a long, thin handle, you just have to press the can into the cigar lighter and that’s it. This prevents the butane from being sprayed outwards, which is a major safety risk.
Don’t forget to stay with friends or on the road with an empty light, and the larger, longer gauges offer a clearer view. So the moral of the story here is that a good cigar lighter will be run on butane.
The physical size of the Cigar Lighter
The purest positive thing about jet flame cigar lighters is that they tend to be cheaper and are offered in smaller sizes. More flame, however, means more butane and increases body height, and the extra flame will provide wind resistance. Double or triple torch lighters start much faster and light your cigar much faster than a single lighter. it really comes down to personal preference as to how to have the best cigar lighter.
Single flame torch cigar lighter , Dual torch lighter , Triple torch lighter, or Quad flame cigar lighters – The ins and outs of torch type
You can buy a cigar torch lighter that is a single torch lighter which has one single flame, and these are often all you really need to start and light a cigar properly. Adjustable flames are a must when thinking of high-quality torch lights, but they are not the only option. You can infact have single torch lighter, double torch lighter, triple flame torch lighter, quad flame torch lighter, and table torch lighter to choose from.
This mechanism of a modern cigar lighter provides more safety and control and allows you to conveniently control the fire at the top of the cigar in question. The dial for your cigar is typically at the lower end of your light, and size and weight are a critical area to consider when choosing a cigar lighter. The stronger the flame, the easier it is to light the cigar. Although a single flame cigar lighter will use less butane than a triple jet torch cigar lighter. Thus you must decide what flame type you are looking for.
Table top torch Cigar Lighters
Table top torch lighters often weigh over a pound and are rarely kept in your pocket. They are built for more stationary purposes and mostly are kept on tables whilst you smoke your cigar. Portable cigar lighters are designed for pocket-size and maintain a steady hot stream. They sacrifice electricity, but allow you to take smoking elsewhere, and they do not extinguish as much heat as a heavy metal lighter.
The shape of the lighter is usually rectangular, cylindrical or rectangular and works well in a variety of lighting conditions, such as indoor, outdoor and outdoor use.
They are often personalized and engraved as they they are larger, making them more valuable to the user, but generally they are no longer than a tube of lip balm. Table lighters are also designed for use on the home terrace and can often light more than 1,000 cigars without refilling bottle which is practical for the cigar smoker. Of course, you can still relocate a table top lighter with larger capacity, such as a 12.5-inch or 20-ounce lighter, and it is ideal if you are a cigar lover who smokes with friends in outdoor setting or for those who enjoy the beach. Thus a table top lighter can serve a very practical function as well as the perfect gift
What is a Flint?
A flint is a piece of stone that creates a physical spark when it hits a piece of metal. When the spark mixes with butane, you get a lighter, but this is based on the fact that there is no physical spark. Most jet and butane lighters do not have a flint starter, but some do, and they do more damage than others because of the lack of spark.
