Author's Note: I realize this is probably the most I have ever posted here. and this is probably the first time I have two different 'on-going' stories out at the same time. well I had this idea for a while, except it was with Charles and I can't keep posting things with Charles man. but this concept works with Pierre so yeah. I don't think there will be a part two, unless you guys absolutely beg for a part two but there's a happy ending so yeah. also Idk if this is a fear for a lot of people or if im just being irrational, because its definitely a fear for me lol. anyway enjoy reading, pls let me know what you think.

“If I want my son at the race then he will be at the race,” Pierre spoke loudly as he tried to get his point across to you.  

“Pierre, he’s only 10 months, I don’t think a race track when cars are flying past is the best idea for him,” you matched Pierre’s volume, you couldn’t understand why he just wouldn’t get it.  

“He can wear a headset, just like all the other drivers' kids do, I want my son at the race with me,”  Pierre wouldn’t let it go. 

“No Pierre, I don’t want him there, and I don’t want all the media with pictures of our son, we’ll be…”

“You don’t have to come this weekend, but my son will be there this weekend, nanny can come with him.” 

“Pierre you’re not getting it, I don’t think that's the best environment for our son, right now, maybe when he’s a little older.”  

“y/n what do you think is gonna happen to him?” 

“I don’t know,” you shook your head at this point, “anything could happen to him, I don’t wanna risk it.” 

Pierre sighed, running his hands through his hair, “he’s coming to the race this weekend, he’s my son…” 

“OUR SON,” you shouted at the top of your lungs, cutting Pierre as the tears finally escaped you, “he is our son.” 

The sound of the baby crying coming through the monitor stopped you from continuing on.  You and Pierre both sighed, knowing that you’re shouting at each other is what woke him.  “Let me…” Pierre spoke up first.  

You waved your hand to dismiss him, “I’ll get him.” You quickly exited your shared bedroom with Pierre and made your way to the nursery, wiping away the escaped tears.  Down the hall, before you entered the nursery you took a deep breath, calming your racing heart.  

“Hi boy,” you spoke softly to the crying baby, picking him up.  You held him close to you, afraid that he would be taken away.  You closed your eyes, breathing him in, your perfect son. You cradled him in your arms, rocking him back to sleep.  You watched him sleepily yawn, he had his father’s eyes. Eyes you loved very much.  

“Dear,” Marta called out to you.  Marta was an older woman that Pierre hired as a housekeeper to help around the house.  Marta didn’t have any kids, her husband had died many years ago.  She became a mother to you, since your mother wasn’t anywhere near.  

“Marta,” you sighed, “I’m sorry, did me and Pierre wake you?” Because it’s only Marta by herself, Pierre had her move into the downstairs bedroom, it’s especially helpful when Pierre is away during the season.  

“Don’t worry about me, I can sleep plenty when I’m no longer here,” Marta smiled, taking a seat next to you in the nursery, “what’s bothering you?” 

You shook your head, as you smiled at your little boy in your arms, “Pierre wants to take the boy to Monza this weekend, and I don’t think it’s a good idea.”  

“That’s not it,” Marta said, as she gave you a look.  A look a mother gives when she knows her child is lying. 

You felt the tears begin to well in your eyes, “he’s our son.” You whisper into the night, like the words are a sin.  You look up at Marta, meeting her kind eyes, her eyes telling you to continue you on.  “He’s our son,” you speak a little louder, as the tears fall, “he’s not just Pierre’s son, he’s my son too.”  

“I see,” Marta hums, nodding her head, “and? Why does that bother you?” 

“He’s all I have left Marta.” You pulled the baby closer to you.  “He’s all I have.”  You took a deep breath, closing your eyes.  You breathed him in, you burned this moment to your memories.  You treat this as if it’s your last moment with your son.  You opened your eyes looking at Marta, “He’s all I have.  You know, when I got pregnant, it wasn’t planned.  It was an accident, me and Pierre had only been together for just under two years.  But we said we were gonna do this, we were gonna have this kid and raise him together.  Pierre makes more money than me.”  You took another deep breath, trying to gather all your thoughts.  “I had a good job, a place of my own, but there was no way I could raise a child by myself, and I couldn’t expect Pierre to move.  He lives in Milan because it’s best for his career, he was set up already.  I gave up all that I had, so he could be in his son’s life, and maintain his career.”  

“You regret that?” 

“No, no, never, Pierre is so good with him.  He’s such a good father,” you smiled at the thought of Pierre with the boy.  “But I’m so scared Marta.” you felt guilty for even speaking your feelings aloud.  “Everything belongs to Pierre.  I live in Pierre’s house, I drive Pierre’s cars, I fly on Pierre’s dime, I am completely dependent on Pierre.  We’re not married, I own nothing, all I have is this boy, and Pierre has all the power to take him away.”  

“You think…” 

“I know,” you spoke quickly, “I know Pierre wouldn’t just randomly kick me out, but that doesn’t mean I don’t fear the possibility.”  You felt the hot strikes of your tears, “If Pierre doesn’t want me anymore, I won’t have anything.  I have no money to my name, I have no job, no place to stay, I have nothing without Pierre.  If he decides he no longer wants me, I have no way to support myself or go back home.” 

“That possibility scares you?” 

“It does, and everytime we argue, he reminds me of that possibility, by saying ‘my son.’  He’s not his son, he’s our son, our child.  Both mine and his, our son, together.” 

“Oh dear,” Marta sighed, as she stood, pulling you close to her standing figure.  

“Is it wrong to be scared?” you asked as you silently sobbed, holding your son closer to you.  

“No dear, it’s not wrong to be scared, it’s the world we live in.”  Marta said, as she held onto you tightly, wishing she could take away your fears.  She wondered where in her lifetime did she go wrong?  Why do the women of today have the same fears as the women of before? 

Little to your knowledge, Pierre had overheard your conversation with Marta.  And he thought how could he be so stupid?  How did he not realize how damaging his words were?  How did he not realize the weight they carried?  How could he allow this to happen?  He mentally slapped himself over and over again for not realizing his mistake.  Our son, the boy, was your’s and Pierre’s son.

“Pierre, where are we going?” you asked as you sat in the passenger seat, as Pierre drove.  

“To do something I should’ve done a long time ago,” Pierre said, as he pulled into a parking garage.  

“Isn’t this your lawyers’ law firm?” you asked, as Pierre parked the car.  

“Yes,” Pierre answered, as he made his way around the car to open the door for you.  

“What are we doing here?” 

“You’ll see,” Pierre said, taking your arm, as the two of you walked into the building lobby.  You silently followed after Pierre, as he made through the lobby, up the elevator and to his lawyer’s office. You watched him exchange a few words with the man behind the desk, before the two of you took a seat, opposite of the lawyer.  “I’m sorry these changes are a bit spur of the moment, but it’s something I should have done a long time ago.” 

“Since the house is paid off, it was actually really easy changes,” the lawyer spoke before setting down paperwork before you and Pierre.  “I’ll just need you both to sign on the line, and initially at the tabs.” 

“Pierre what is this?” you asked, picking up the paperwork before.  

“I’m putting your name on the house,” Pierre said, as he signed his set of paperwork.  

“What?” you asked, as you threw the papers back on the desk, as if they were burning your hands.  “Pierre this is a big thing, that’s your house…” 

“Our,” Pierre said, correcting your statement.  The one word had you shutting your mouth.  

“Huh?” 

“Our house,” Pierre said, as he set his paperwork and pen down, “We have a son together, and our son needs a home.  We need a home for our family.  This house can be our home, together.  y/n, I should have done this when you gave up everything for me, for our family together.  I am sorry this is so late, too late, but I want it to be our home together.  This is our life together, none of this mine anymore.”  

You couldn’t wipe the smile from your face even if the devil himself appeared before you.   You signed away at the line and initialed at all the tabs.  You were so grateful that Pierre was willing to share his life with you.  “You know, you could’ve just asked me to marry you,” you joked as you and Pierre made your way back to the car.  

“I am, I’m just going to do it right,” Pierre smirked at you, “plus it actually doesn’t cost money to add someone’s name to the deed of a house, when the house is paid off.”

Part 2

Pierre and I have been best friends since we were kids, our families have always been friends and our mothers had us at the same time and since then we have been inseparable.

When he started traveling for the races we drifted apart a bit because of him being away and when he joined Formula One I was going to college for photography and as soon as I graduated Pierre made sure to get me a job at Alphatauri as his photographer.

According to him it would be a great opportunity for me, I would be able to improve my photography skills and have the freedom to take pictures of different country’s and him.

So when he moved to Alpine he dragged me with him.

But there is one thing I never imagined is that working with Pierre would become so difficult sometimes.

My boyfriend Zach was not his biggest fan, according to him Pierre was in love with me and that made him jealous.

We had so many arguments about this and almost broke up a few times because he kept insisting on something that didn't exist.

"So, I heard that Zach is coming this weekend." Pierre says after finished putting on his shoes.

"Yes, I'm very excited it's been a month since we've seen each other.”

"And you thought it would be a good idea to bring him here?"

"And what's the problem?" I ask looking at him.

"Because he hates me."

"He doesn't hate you."

"Really? Every time you and I are together he looks at me with hatred."

"That's not true, he just thinks you're in love with me and can't get that stupid idea out of his head."

At that very moment he chokes on the water he was drinking.

"My God are you okay?" I give his back a few strokes.

"Yes, I just choked on the water.”

"Isn't that silly?” I said laughing “He seems to like to insist on these things just to cause intrigue and make us fight."

"Well he's not so wrong." He says quietly but I hear him.

"What are you talking about?"

"Are you serious that you never realized?"

"Realized what?"

"That I'm really in love with you? That I have been for years and you never realized it because you get too busy with that idiot."

"Don't call him an idiot."

"And he's what then? Look at the way he is with me."

"Maybe he wouldn't be that way with you if you weren't in love with me."

"Oh so it's my fault?"

"Yes it is."

"I'm sorry then if being in love with you is a problem and I'm sorry if I'm a problem in your life." He says angrily and walks out of the drivers room and slams the door.

"Actually it was." I sigh in frustration. "You were right when you said he's was love with me."

"What do you mean?"

"I told him what you thought and he confirmed it, and then we fought."

"I told you, I told you he liked you and that's why you have to stay away from him."

"I'm not going to stay away from him." At the same time Zach stopped walking and looked at me seriously.

"Really? Even after I've warned you a thousand times and even after he admitted it to your face you're still going to be friends with him?"

"Zach people just don't stop being friends with each other for these stupid reasons, him and I have been friends since we were born and that's not going to stop me from being friends with him."

"Are you serious?"

"Yes I am, what's your problem with him? He's never done anything to you."

"Yes he has, he gets in the middle of us."

"No he doesn't."

"Yes he does and you're just too dumb to notice." At this I say nothing. "I'm done."

"What do you mean with that?"

"Me or him?"

"What? Zach."

"Me or that stupid f1 driver."

"You were CLEARLY flirting with her!" you yelled at Pierre, frustrated by his denial.

"mon cherie, please I was not flirting with her" Pierre sighed again, running a hand through his hair. Couldn't you have waited to have this conversation with him. he didn't need this stress, especially not before a big race.

"i cannot believe you are denying this right now!" you chuckled at his response.

"I cannot believe we are having this discussion right now!" he retorted, getting more frustrated by the second. "ESPECIALLY before one of my biggest races of the season" he actually yelled at you this time. "I qualified p3 and you can't even be happy for me!"

"you where flirting with her! flirting Pierre! I am the only girl you should be flirting with. I am your girlfriend" you fired back at him, completely ignoring what he had said to you.

"I- You are impossible right now y/n, you won't listen to anything I say" he responded sourly.

"That, that's not true" your words softening.

"I don't want to see you right now." Pierre pointed towards the door.

"Admit it and i'll leave" you simply replied, arms crossing.

"Go." one single word was all he said, pointing again, when you didn't move he dragged you out the door, shutting it in your face.

You stormed home furious at Pierre, furious at how you left things. You paced back and forth in front of the TV debating on whether you watch the race or not. Somehow you found yourself seated in front of the TV at 4PM with a bottle and glass of wine in your hand.

You nearly dropped the bottle when you saw the Alpine car crash, when the announcer said "Pierre Gasly has crashed" that was all you heard, you ran down the stairs of your building, practically jumping in the car and heading straight for the race track. The words "Pierre Gasly has crashed" repeating over and over in your head.

You ran to the track, running to the Alpine paddock, running to him. Him who might be seriously injured or worse- you didn't want to even consider that. Him who you had just yelled at, swore at, for "flirting" he- he wasn't even flirting. You were just angry and need to take it out on something or someone.

When you finally got to the Alpine paddock you rushed to Pierre's driver room. You opened the door without bothering to even knock. He was lying down on the couch, he appeared to have minor injuries that the medics had just finished taking care of, they quickly left when they saw you.

His head turned your way. You rushed to his side, kneeling by his bed. Worry covering your whole face "Oh my god, Pierre are you okay?" you asked, concern filling your voice, "i came straight to you after I saw the crash" You reached for his hand but he pulled away.

"You can't come in here and pull this shit y/n" Pierre mumbled, "fuck, you shouldn't even be here not after the things you said to me earlier."

Your eyes dropped, no longer making eye contact. Realization of how seriously you screwed up earlier. "I fucked up Pierre, i- the things I said to you, especially before your race" you looked back up at him, your words quiet. "I was wrong and I would do anything for you to forgive me" you pleaded.

"when I got out of the car all I wanted was to run to your arms but I knew you were here waiting for me" Pierre responded.

After a few seconds of silence passed, you spoke again, "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, I love you so much my love"

"I love you too" with that Pierre pulled you into him. You wrapped your arms around his neck.

"I'm here to take care of you now, whatever you need" you spoke slowly, you took multiple deep breaths, inhaling his scent.

"well, there is this one thing I can think of" Pierre smirked. You laughed, then pulled him into a deep kiss.

When you pulled away you littered his face with kisses making him laugh softly.

My birthday.

I've never been as excited to celebrate a birthday as I am this year.

It was the first time that my girlfriend Y/n would be celebrating with me, since almost every year I’m racing and she can’t come to wherever I am.

Unfortunately I had to spend the day in the simulator but it was finally over and I was on my way home when I saw that she was calling me.

"This is the hospital and Miss Y/N has been in a serious car accident."

"What? Is she all right?" I ask in despair.

"I'm sorry but I can't give you this kind of information on my cell phone, please if you could come over now."

"I'll be right there."

I sped up as much as I could and when I got there I saw her mother crying desperately, clinging to her father who was trying his best to hold back his tears.

"No." I said and they looked at me and I fell to my knees on the floor completely unresponsive.

"Excuse me." A nurse appeared. "I'm sorry to have to do this right now but we need someone to recognize the body."

"I can't, I can't do that." Her mother started crying in despair again.

"Pierre." Her father called out to me and I closed my eyes tightly, knowing what was coming next. "I know it's too much to ask and that because of our relationship I don't have the right to ask you for anything, but please, can you do this for us?”

"I'll do it." I say without looking at him and stand up following the nurse.

Her parents hated me, especially her father.

He used to say that I didn't deserve his daughter, I thought that was just at first since we know how fathers are with their daughters but he's hated me since he first met me and has always made a point of making his feelings for me clear.

He loved F1 until his daughter fall in love with one, so I became the inconsequential boyfriend who drove a car in circles and that I would only hurt her and that if I died on the track doing something so stupid it was just to make her suffer, leaving her to mourn a guy who didn't deserve his daughter.

When we arrived at the morgue, I stood in front of the glass window and saw only a body completely covered by a black thing, the coroner was in the room waiting for me to say yes so she could show it to me. I just nodded and she lifted the tarpaulin to show me. Tears instantly started rolling down my eyes, there she was, with pale skin, her face lifeless and her skin all bruised.

I didn't even have to say anything, I think my cry echoing through the cold, empty room said it all.

And not being able to stand it any longer, I just left and went back to where her parents were, who also knew what it meant just by seeing me.

"I'm sorry Pierre, I'm sorry for everything that happened between us."

"There's no point now." I said, shushing him. "I loved your daughter like I've never loved anyone else in my life, I always treated her like a queen and the only things I ever heard from you were criticisms. You don't know how many times your daughter cried on my lap because her father didn't even pretend to like me, so no, I won't accept your apologies right now. Because now that she's gone you feel guilty, you feel guilty because she died the way you said that it would happen to me. Ironic, isn't it?"

Having said that, I left and the last time I saw them was on the day of the funeral and then never again.

February 7th, 2023.

My birthday.

Another one I won't be celebrating.

Since February 7, 2019, I've never celebrated it. It never made sense for me to celebrate my life when it was actually gone.

"Mate, you have to celebrate your birthday, let's go out and drink, I’ll pay." Charles said.

"I told you I don't want to." I replied for the thousandth time.

"You have to stop not wanting to do anything every year, you have to enjoy your life."

"I've already said no, I don't want to go out and celebrate something that no longer makes sense." He doesn’t say anything. "It doesn't seem right to go out and celebrate my life when someone I loved has been taken away from me in the same day."

"I know you miss her and that her death has left a lot of marks on you and even worse that it happened on your birthday but she wouldn't want you to live the rest of your life in mourning."

"I can't, I can't celebrate, okay?" Charles sighs, seeing that I'm crying. "So please stop asking."

"It's okay." He hugged me and I collapsed.

I entered the cemetery with her favorite flowers and as I got closer I saw her parents, it had been years since I last saw them in the funeral.

"Pierre." Her father said as soon as he saw me standing there.

"Mr. Y/l/n."

"How long." Now her mother says.

"A long time." I follow without wanting to talk to them too much. "I'll be back in a little while."

"No need, we've been here for a while and we'll leave you alone." Her father says, taking her mother's hand. "Happy birthday."

"Without the happy part but thank you." He gives a half-smile and they leave.

I sat down in front of her grave and left the flowers there.

"Hi, my love." I could already feel the tears forming in my eyes. "It's been a while since I last came here. I feel like every time I come here it's like I lose you a little bit more.

I've been thinking lately about what Charles said and it's taken me a while to accept that he was right, I know I'll never get over you because I'm sure you were and still are the love of my life but I've deprived myself of so many things for so long that I feel like all I do is work and go home and I know that as well as being unhealthy you wouldn't want me to live like that, you'd want me to be happy again, to live a happy life and try to find love again. Charles has insisted every year that we have to go out to celebrate my birthday but I never do, I never do because it feels wrong but I'm going to celebrate today, I'm going to celebrate my life and remember yours."

I got up and left a kiss on the headstone.

"I loved you yesterday, I love you today and I will love you till the day I die." I smiled and left, picking up my cell phone.

"Hey, man." Charles says as soon as he answers his cell phone.

"Where are we celebrating today?"
