Three municipal pickleball courts will likely be constructed at Kiwanis Field, a park along the Fort River that is mostly used for youth soccer, ultimate, softball and baseball.

With $120,000 in Community Preservation Act money available, town officials are looking at the Stanley Street location to build Amherst’s first pickleball courts, though the original funding proposal came from residents interested in having the pickleball courts at the Mill River Recreation Area in North Amherst."

(said w mild judgement bc of my assumptions abt mfs who are Into Pickleball). i just feel like everyone (on the east coast at least?) who’s like Into It is so fucking rich WASP-y 😭 so i’m like predisposed to hate it. it’s similar to how i feel about like. field hockey. or lacrosse (expensive sports primarily played by rich white people where i grew up who were all really really mean). i don’t even think pickleball is supposed to be expensive!! but i think it like self selects in terms of young adults playing to be rich white people in general and Especially like yuppies/tech ppl in metro areas lol
