Merry Christmas everybody and happy holidays. Today, I present you six doodles/drawings of my husband, D and I while we are on a mall trip! This was for a photography project back when I decided to take photography classes. I got a high grade from that LOL.

1. Me showing D a pet axolotl (in reality: it’s a stuffed animal) and D was actually shy on petting it. 2. D gets attached to a mobile game demo, Fruit Ninja while I warn him to try not to get too addicted. 3. We wore sunglasses. 4. D initiates a battle with a dragon that's... on a wallpaper. I tried to stop him and we got in trouble... 5. I got a new phone case to replace the old dirty, broken one. (In reality, I didn't like that kind of phone case, oof.) 6. Just wondering if I should buy the Kirby hoodie. Includes cameos of Miraidon and Kirby in merch. I will try to finish an episode of that Mortal Kombat Powerpoint series I usually forgot about working and draw a few more pics before abandoning more social media for good... IU: How should I put it? It’s hard to express. There’s no particular word or phrase that comes to mind …^^

I think it’s ‘oblivion’. The reason being everytime you look at a flower, it’s still as pretty as the first time you saw it.

Obviously they are the same flowers you saw last spring, yet the flowers this year still leave you in awe as if you’re seeing them for the first time.

And when this flower withers, it falls to the ground in a mess. Knowing that people will trample on it, it feigns ignorance and in that moment, I think to myself, ‘wow it’s really pretty’ and fall in love with it, so that’s why the word ‘oblivion’ comes to mind.]

IU: Flowers are strong. Even if they bloom somewhere that would go unnoticed, they have their own values. Their tenacity to bloom in time every year is beautiful.

The Boys+Baby

Was in the mood to write some fluffy family headcanons. So have the boys with their first born.

Edit: Theres a part 2 now

*Pregnancy warning*

Raihan

Raihan loves kids. Raising baby pokemon is one of  his favorite things to do as a trainer. Now he has his own baby? Hes ecstatic.

Gets all sorts of matching family outfits for him, s/o, and baby.  

Sets up a very aesthetically pleasing nursery. Its storybook themed. With all sorts of dragon plushies and fairytale books. 

If s/o is pregnant, he'll want to take all sorts of belly progress pics. Not so much for social media, more for keepsakes. He plans on starting a photo album full of pregnancy pictures and babies firsts. It's what his parents did for him and wants to continue the tradition.

Always reading to baby before bed. Even if s/o is asleep, he'll whisper. 

In the hospital, he'll be their rock. He'll get whatever you want. Squeeze his hand as hard as you need. He knows the importance of keeping calm, so he'll keep his cool.

Until they come out. He'll tear up and hold them as close as possible when he gets to hold them. 

The trainers in his gym are all good friends. So when that baby comes home, there's always someone offering to help out if they need it or bring food because they know Raihan and s/o are tired.

All the pokemon love baby. There's always at least one of them guarding the crib at all times. Raihan likes to joke it's because dragons guard treasures. 

Piers

Out of the three of them, Piers is the one with most baby experience. Hes looked after Marnie all his life. This isn't his first Rodeo. So he isnt bothered about diapers and vomit and all the things that come with kids. 

Spikemuth being the close knit town it is, everyone is excited. The baby shower and bringing them home is going to be a town wide party and there's nothing he can do about it. They already have balloons and catering ready to go.

He and s/o work together on the nursery. The color scheme is very neutral with grays and whites. Though there is definitely a star motif going on around the room. 

Goes without saying Pier always sings to baby. It's how he expresses things, and his voice is so soft and loving.

If s/o is pregnant, he'll help do research and get parenting books so they both can stay informed. 

Despite all his reading and that Marnie turned out well, Piers is still pretty anxious. Though he doesn't want to say anything because he doesn't want s/o to worry. 

Marnie is working for that #1 aunt title. She immediately got a morpeko plush when she got the news. It was the kids first gift and it's now sitting in the nursery rocking chair.

In the hospital, despite telling them that it was only going to be him and s/o, and he would call when the delivery was over. There was still a bunch of team yell members in the waiting room with congratulations signs. Piers decided to put them to use and make them get whatever you needed whenever you asked. 

Despite all of Piers anxiety, he felt it melt away when first held the little one. He didn't cry, but was definitely choked up. 

Is always tired, more so than normal. His hair is always tied up. And when all else fails to calm baby down, his singing works wonders.

Leon

Giddy. Leon is so excited to be a dad. He's always liked kids. As champion he loved doing events and meet ups with children. He Hopes his kid looks up at him with just as much excitement and joy, even if he isn't champion anymore.

The nursery doesn't really have a coherent theme. There's wooloo wallpaper. Pastel sheets and curtains. A starter mobile. It's just full of cute things that they collected.

Got the baby a mini cap and Cape. No he will not take criticism. This baby will be a fashion disaster until they can pick their own clothes or s/o puts their foot down.

If s/o is pregnant, Leon is always going to feel for kicks. Even long before it's supposed to start that. When he does feel a kick, his face lights up every time.

Charzard is no better. It likes resting next to s/o and protecting them. He loves kids too and wants to keep them safe and warm. 

Leon doesn't know much about babies and pregnancy and its ups and downs. He'll look stuff up if he isn't sure and has called his mom or grandma more than once for advice.

Wants to get as much work at the tower done as possible so he has less to worry about when he takes time off. As a result, he can't be with s/o as much as he wants. He's enlisted Hop to be your little helper around the house. Hop does so happily (he's very excited to be an uncle).Though really, Leon over estimated how much help you would actually need and you and Hop mostly chill out. 

In the hospital, do not let Leon leave the room. Or else he'll probably go for a snack from the vending machine down the hall and somehow end up in the ER on the other side of the hospital. You won't see him until you have to start pushing. Do not let this man leave your sight.

Even if he's internally freaking out, Leon does his best to keep it together and support you. Squeeze his hand as hard as need, break it for all he cares. He's got you.

Definitely cried when he first held the baby. He kept blubbering about how precious they were. 

Once home, Leon definitely carries the baby every where in one of those slings across his chest. And yes, he will accept challengers like that. That kid is a heavy sleeper.

When You Come Back to Me: pt 2

Part I here

At some point, you slept again, you’re not sure for how long. When you wake up, the man who says he’s your husband is sleeping in the visitor’s chair. It looks uncomfortable. His head rests on the top of the chair, eyes closed, handsome face slack in sleep, arms folded over his chest. A plain silver band encircles his left hand ring finger.

You examine your own left hand. The drip insert is covered by a big bandage, but a matching ring adorns your finger, plain silver, the band delicate around your digit. You rub it with your thumb.

Why can’t I remember?

You let your gaze trail over his moustache and patchy facial hair. Do you like facial hair on men? You must do. His hair sticks up, like he’s been running his hands through it. A little grey is starting to show on the edges of his beard. How old is he? 

You know how old you are, you think. You know you have two sisters and you proofread for a living.

But this man, who says he is your husband, is a mystery to you.

As you look around, you spy a mobile phone on your bed. You reach for it, swipe to wake up the screen. It asks for a fingerprint, and you try yours, which works.

Your wallpaper looks phone-factory issued, so that’s no good. The weight of the device feels familiar in your hand.

You navigate to the gallery and go through the photos, finding many of the man in the visitors’ chair.

Intimate photos - not of his body, but the sort of pictures you only take of someone you love, someone you spend a lot of time with.

He’s telling the truth.

You rub your forehead gingerly. Your mouth is so dry.

You must make some sound, because Pedro rubs his eyes and sits up, his gaze tracking to you immediately. “Mijita,” he murmurs, and your stomach drops at the kindness in his dreamboat voice.

“Hey,” you say uncertainly.

He nods at the phone in your hand. “Checking to see if I was trying to pull the wool over your eyes?”

“I guess so.”

Pedro scoots the chair a tiny bit closer, and this time you make an effort not to recoil. He looks at you hesitantly, so many questions in those soulful brown eyes. “I’ll try to remember not to touch you, not unless you say it’s okay.”

You scoff silently. He’s your husband. “Did we touch a lot….. Before?” you ask quietly, eating him up with your eyes, trying to force your memory to cooperate.

One side of Pedro’s mouth ticks up in a smile. “All the time.”

“Maybe if we… touch, I’ll remember?”

“Worth a shot, right?” he holds out his hand. You drop your phone on to the bed, examining his palm. Surely his hands have brought you so much comfort and pleasure, over the years. You gingerly put your palm on his, fold your fingers above his thumb.

It feels… nice, but there’s no lightning bolt moment.

Pedro looks up at you, a silent question sketched over his face.

You shake your head.

“Okay. Should I.. let go?” he asks.

“I don’t know.” You leave your hand in his for now, let yourself feel his pulse, the calluses on his tanned palms. “Um…. how long have we been married?”

A sad smile touches his lips. “Three days.”

Oh, God. “So, we’re….”

“On honeymoon,” he confirms.

Your stomach bottoms out, and for a second you think you might vomit all over the bed. You end up dry heaving. Pedro grabs a cardboard bucket thing from the foot of the bed and holds your hair back as your stomach chucks out nothing but air, and you sit back eventually, tears streaming from your eyes, sicker than you can ever remember feeling.

“Sorry,” you choke out.

“You have nothing to be sorry for,” Pedro soothes, and absently kisses the top of your head. You jerk in surprise, and he jerks in response, hitting his head on the wall by your bed. “Fuck, ow.” He winces. “Sorry. I’ve got a potty mouth.”

You nod as he sits back down.

“Do I like it? The cursing, I mean.”

Pedro rolls his shoulders thoughtfully as he considers this. “I guess? Gosh, I don’t know. You’ve never tried to censor me, anyway.” His mouth turns down; his head drops to his chest, and then he lets out a soft expletive. “It’s been hours; I smell like shit. I should go back to the hotel; shower and change.”

“Would you mind getting me some water first? Please?”

“Of course.” He crosses to the little table in your room, pours water into a plastic cup and hands it to you. You meet his gaze as your fingers brush, and you look into his dark brown eyes and yearn to know him. 

“Thanks, um, Pedro. Do I call you that? Or something else?”

“Pedro,” he confirms in that deep voice.

“I like your voice,” you say, almost a whisper, after you drink. It’s your honeymoon; you feel you should throw him a bone. 

The way he looks at you, it’s like his gaze almost caresses you in its gentleness, but there’s a fire there, and you can almost imagine his eyes doing dark and hot. Almost. It’s so close you can taste it, but your brain won’t cooperate. 

“Yeah,” he chokes out. “You say that a lot. Or, you did.”

Your heart lurches at the misery on his face. You want to reassure him but your tongue feels thick in your mouth. “Why don’t you go shower,” you suggest. “Eat something. I’ll spend some time with my phone, look through the videos. Maybe it’ll help.”

Pedro takes a deep breath, and nods. “Okay, mijita. Um. Do you mind if I call you that?”

“Not at all.” It might help, you reason, might jog something in your memory.

With utmost gentleness, Pedro nods down at you, then stretches, and you watch as a thick strip of his tanned stomach is exposed, along with the “happy trail” down into his jeans. At some point, you must have known his body intimately.

He sees where you eyes track to, and a smile ghosts on his face. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

Remember the early oughts? Remember Web 1.0? And Geocities and blinkies? What about Flash games? It was only last month that Adobe Flash finally died its ignoble death.

In the spirit of those times, let resurrect some old LJ memes! (Think Buzzfeed quizzes but with less data mining (not to say that didn't happen)).

When I looked at my tags page, there were 159 entries tagged ‘meme’ which I guess is because memes were what I used to say when I didn’t know what to say. In the early oughts, I wasn’t new to the internet, but I was new to the interactive version of it presented by LJ and its clones. In order to seem interesting, I did a *lot* of memes.

As I explored back in my journal, I found a lot of memes that are now defunct, but I wish were still functioning. Like the Friends Icons collage, which seemed to be a bit of code that gathered all your friends’ default icons into one picture. And Quizilla seems to be a Teen Nick site now. Other links looked extremely sketchy.

Here Are Some Choices:

Desktop/Wallpaper screen shot - take a screen shot of the background (desktop for computers or wallpaper for mobile devices) on whatever device you are using. This one was originally just desktops, since it predates tablets and phones becoming so ubiquitous. Post the pic in your journal.

I Write Like . . . - Paste a few paragraphs of your writing into the box and see which famous author has a style most similar to you. It doesn’t have to be actual fic writing; you can post your latest blog post, but the longer, the better the tool works. Although don’t go too long; it will just cut it off. It will generate a little bit of code with a banner, which you can post in your journal.

Music shuffle - go to your favorite source of music that can be shuffled. Your main Spotify playlist, iTunes, your YouTube music playlist. Hit shuffle. Write down the first line of the first twenty songs that come up. When people visit your journal, they have to guess what the songs are. Strike through the ones that have been guessed with the guessers name at the end of the line.

What Number Are You? - click on the phrases that describe you, and then post the text that you get along with your number in your journal.

What Kind of Shoe Personality Do You Have? Anyone who knows me knows there’s no way I would pass this one up. I should get my shoe mood theme back on my journal.

Fail Cat - If you have a PC: Open paint, close your eyes, draw a cat. Post the results. If you have a phone or tablet: Open the notes app, close your eyes, draw a cat. Post the results. (I do not know what program you would use if you have a Mac without something else installed like Gimp or Photoshop, Macs do not seem to come with a default drawing program).

First Line - Post the first line of the first entry of each month for the past year in your journal.

The Dewey Decimal System - find out which category in the Dewey Decimal System you are.

Nearest Book - 1. Grab the nearest book; 2. Open the book to page 123; 3. Find the fifth sentence; 4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions; 5. Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

Spell Your Name - pick a category: movies, books, TV shows, musicians, songs, etc. Spell your name with the first letter of each. Your real name, your username, you choose!

Kleenex Moment - Pick the top five movies that make you cry, and tell us what the Kleenex Moment is (when do you reliably reach for the hankies).

Hakuoki Shinkai Western Harada Background

i gotta say... I really dislike Harada’s fighting sprite. As someone who knows how to use the bo (granted, it’s not a spear so there are probably differences in ready and fighting stances), but the way he holds his spear has always come across as really weird to me due to how his back is shown at a fairly odd angle.... Also I didn’t think that any of his cgs with him holding his spear in his western uniform were particularly good as background wallpapers so I ended up doing this as photoshop torture.... (not practice! lol.) saying this was torture since this went way beyond what I normally would do... which is mainly just matching assets’ colours either via curves/colour balance/brightness and contrast or applying a brush, cutting out background pieces, desaturating different layers then adjusting colour balances again.

.....this was especially painful to do since Harada doesn’t have a lower back or his left arm in the original picture as that area is covered up by Souji’s head... and I couldn’t really use the mobile wallpaper of that pic as an almost complete fix-it aid since unlike what I did for Saito in my current profile pic, that cuts off before Harada’s right elbow so I used other pieces to fill in those gaps....

Harada pic used assets from a clean image of the limited edition edo blossoms box art, product image of the Harada iphone7/8 background of the same limited ed edo blossom image, Chizuru’s sleeve from the Stellaworth Reservation Bonus story booklet (cleaner version than the one displayed in my Hakuoki Shinkai Saito Short Story post), and part of shinpachi’s jacket from his cg against amagiri (flipped and warped a lot).... and a background from one of the KW sites (forget which language+plus don’t wanna check if there is a difference).
