JEE Main or JEE Advanced: Analyzing Difficulty and Subjects
When it comes to the pursuit of undergraduate engineering programs in India, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) plays a pivotal role. This examination is the gateway to prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and various other government engineering institutes. However, the JEE is not a single examination; it is divided into two significant phases: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. In this article, we will delve into the fundamental differences between these two exams, exploring aspects like exam pattern, syllabus, difficulty, preparation, and the choice of the best coaching institute for JEE.
JEE Main: The First Step
JEE Main is the initial phase of the JEE examination and is often considered the stepping stone to engineering excellence. It serves as the admission criterion for NITs, IIITs, and numerous other prestigious engineering colleges across India. JEE Main is typically held twice annually, with examination sessions scheduled for January and April. This examination primarily covers three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Physics: Physics in JEE Main is known for its moderate difficulty level. It encompasses topics such as Mechanics, Electrostatics, Thermodynamics, and Optics. While it requires a solid foundation, it is relatively manageable for most students. To understand how to prepare for JEE mains effectively, consider seeking guidance from a best coaching institute for JEE.
Chemistry: Chemistry, divided into Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry, is generally considered the most scoring subject in JEE Main. With dedicated preparation, students can excel in this section.
Mathematics: Mathematics in JEE Main is often regarded as the most challenging. It involves topics like Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Coordinate Geometry. Strong mathematical skills are crucial for success in this section.
JEE Advanced: The Ultimate Challenge
JEE Advanced is the second phase of the JEE series and is designed for students aiming to secure a seat in the prestigious IITs. This exam is known for its increased difficulty level compared to JEE Main.
Physics: The Physics section in JEE Advanced is notably more challenging than in JEE Main. It includes advanced problems that need more intricate problem-solving.
Chemistry: Chemistry in JEE Advanced is also more demanding. While it covers the same divisions as JEE Main, the questions are more complex and require a deeper understanding of the subject.
Mathematics: Mathematics in JEE Advanced is at its most advanced level. It comprises topics like Differential Equations, Vector Calculus, and Probability. High-level mathematical proficiency is essential for success. Knowing how to prepare for JEE advanced requires rigorous study and practice.
Analyzing the Difference in Difficulty
The primary difference in difficulty between JEE Main and JEE Advanced lies in the complexity of the questions and the depth of knowledge required. JEE Main questions are relatively straightforward, while JEE Advanced questions are designed to test a student's profound understanding of the subjects.
Moreover, the time allocated for JEE Advanced is more limited, adding to the overall challenge. Students attempting JEE Advanced need to be exceptionally well-prepared to handle the intense competition and the demanding questions.
Making the Right Choice
The choice between JEE Main and JEE Advanced should align with your aspirations, capabilities, and the colleges you aim to enter. Take into account the following considerations when arriving at this vital decision.:
Aspirations: If your ultimate goal is to secure a seat in one of the IITs, JEE Advanced is the path to take. However, if you aim for other reputed engineering institutions, JEE Main might be your preferred choice.
Preparation Time: Assess your preparation level and the time available. JEE Advanced demands more rigorous preparation, while JEE Main is relatively more manageable.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Analyze your strengths and weaknesses in the subjects. If you excel in Physics and Chemistry, JEE Main might be a better option. If you are a mathematics enthusiast and love challenging problems, JEE Advanced could be your forte.
Competition: Be aware of the competition level. JEE Advanced is more competitive due to the limited number of seats in the IITs.
Striking a Balance
Both JEE Main and JEE Advanced are significant milestones in the journey of becoming an engineer in India. Your choice between the two should align with your ambitions and the level of dedication you are willing to put into your preparation. Remember that success in either exam ultimately depends on your hard work, determination, and a strong foundation in the subjects. Choose wisely, and may your engineering dreams take flight!

For the first time, Buck longs for a bullet wound to treat. Dirt to dig at. A door to break through. Something. There’s nothing. “Your guess was correct, Diaz,” the bomb technician tells them, as he gestures to the orange circle. “You’re standing on a large sensor plate, wired to a detonator. It’s incredibly important that you don’t move. Don’t shift. When you put your weight down, it was like cocking a gun - you take your weight off, this thing is powerful enough to take the entire house with it." Inspired by Castle, S05E22: Still
If You Said I Do I Would Too by giselleslash
(5,894 words | General Audiences | Chapters: 1/1)
Eddie starts telling people Buck’s his husband to get out of annoying flirting situations on calls. Buck starts to like it a little too much.
platonic co-parents don’t kiss like we do by thelikesofus
(7,113 words | Mature | Chapters: 1/1)
Chimney wants it on public record that if he ever goes to therapy the bill is to be sent to Buck and Eddie, and that should he ever end up in an early grave for reasons related to his co-workers and their absolutely unhinged inability to act like normal people they will also be paying for all of the flowers at the funeral—and Chimney wants a lot of flowers. OR 5 times other people see Buck and Eddie kiss + 1 time they really mean it.
baby, say you'll always keep me by hattalove
(8,251 words | Teen And Up Audiences | Chapters: 1/1)
“Yeah,” Eddie says, and the darkness behind his eyelids takes on a white edge. “Be good. Nice to be married,” he yanks on Buck’s t-shirt, “best friend.” Finally, Buck takes a breath that sounds off somehow, but he laughs too, and that sounds normal, Eddie thinks. A normal laugh. “Sure, Eds,” he says, and there’s his hand in Eddie’s hair again, a puff of breath on the crown of Eddie’s head like Buck leaned in to press a kiss there and then stopped, but why would he stop—“I’ll marry you if you remind me tomorrow.” or the one in which joking about being married to your best friend is all fun and games, right up until you realize that you're not laughing.

(8,075 words | General Audiences | Chapters: 1/1)
It was a pretty regular day. He had an eight hour shift the day before, slept in a little bit, ate dry toast and drank a black coffee before dropping Chris off at physical therapy for an hour. If he had known he was gonna die, he would have sprung for the hashbrowns in the freezer.

an inch away from more than just friends by allyasavedtheday
(9,963 words | Teen And Up Audiences | Chapters: 1/1)
“I think Eddie’s in love with me.” She gapes at him, mouth working for a response that doesn’t come until Chimney beats her to it. “Eddie’s what?” Maddie claps her mouth shut, stepping aside to let Buck through. Chimney’s on the floor in the living room with Jee playing with her tea set. “You’re not involved in this conversation,” Buck says, pointing at him. “It’s your fault in the first place for even putting the idea in my head.” Maddie apparently finally finds her voice, appearing at Buck’s side and looking between them. “I’m sorry, what? How did Chim put the idea in your head?” “Him and Hen!” Buck exclaims, waving a hand. “They told me I should pay attention to how much Eddie wants to be around me.” “And you took that to mean he’s in love with you?” Chimney asks incredulously. * In which Buck has a clipboard and a list and is about to romance the hell out of Eddie Diaz.

(7,618 words | Explicit | Chapters: 1/1)
“Eddie, this guy—he gave me my name.” Eddie’s eyebrows crease together. “Buck here is forgetting the full introduction.” Bailey steps forward and extends his hand to Eddie. “Evan Bailey, 178. I go by Evan now.” He winks, and he’s still got Eddie’s hand grasped in his, the handshake going on a lot longer than necessary. But Bailey always liked to make an impression, especially with— Well, especially with guys he thought were hot. * Eddie meets one of those other Evans from Buck's academy class. Buck is totally normal about it.

I can see it in your eyes (do you mean it?) by smilingbuckley
(29,353 words | Explicit | Chapters: 6/6)
Eddie hears that his cousin is getting engaged. Not wanting to get set up by multiple family members on awkward dates so he can bring someone to the wedding, he and Buck plan to fake date. They put a lot of thought into it, getting comfortable with PDA, going on fake dates, even practicing kissing once... and then it's finally time to travel to El Paso. But faking it is hard when he's not really faking it at all. -- He fully blames his rom-com brain, having just watched The Proposal – the fake dating classic, if you ask him or Chimney. “What if I’m your fake date?” Eddie’s head snaps sideways so fast, Buck worries about whiplash. “What?” Buck shrugs, trying to play it cool, but really, his heart is beating loudly in his chest. “I mean, people sometimes already think we’re a couple. We’re very comfortable around each other, so sharing a bed or holding hands wouldn’t be too bad. That way your family could back off. And, I don’t know, maybe a few weeks after, you say we decided to just be friends and leave it at that. Or you don’t and they’ll back off full-time with the dates.” Eddie stares at him, “You’d do that for me?” “Sure,” Buck answers, like it’s no big deal.
you could call me babe for christmas ('tis the damn season) by prettyboybuckley
(30,268 words | Teen And Up Audiences | Chapters: 2/2)
"You could come with me," Buck blurts out, his own eyes going wide as he processes what he just said. Eddie looks at him with his mouth hanging open, eyebrows slowly creasing into a frown and Buck's mind grapples for an explanation, even if the reason he said it is quite simple: he always feels safer with Eddie by his side. "My parents want me to come to El Paso," Eddie says, and he looks like the words taste bitter in his mouth. "I'd love to get out of that, but I can't just leave Christopher with Abuela or Pepa while I run to Pennsylvania. Never mind that my parents would never accept it without a good reason." "Christopher can come, of course." OR: Buck and Eddie pretend to be dating as Buck takes the Diaz boys along to Hershey. Once there, things get a little out of hand, and Buck comes to a realization...
Ready-made Family by Dark_Rosaleen
(15,884 words | Teen And Up Audiences | Chapters: 6/6)
“Sure, I love the zoo.” Chris is saying with that perfectly adorable giggle that makes Eddie want to melt whenever he hears it—which is far too infrequently these days. “My dad takes me there all the time.” Eddie’s head snaps up at that, quick and sharp. His fingers go numb and he scrambles uselessly with the tongs as they fall with a loud clatter against the grill. Because Eddie can count the times he’s been to the zoo on one hand. It’s Buck who’s been taking Christopher there nearly once a week for years.
change the prophecy by Daisies_and_Briars
(30,150 words | Mature | Chapters: 12/12)
Buck has never felt secure in any of his relationships; he’s been searching for someone to see him the way he feels he’s meant to be seen, but after things start going downhill with Tommy, he thinks that person might just not exist. Eddie cannot figure out what’s wrong with him when it becomes clear things with Marisol aren’t going to work out. But what if they’re both forgetting something?
made your mark on me (a golden tattoo) by thatbuddie (talktothesky)
(15,010 words | Teen And Up Audiences | Chapters: 1/1)
“I want another tattoo.” Eddie shatters the silence delicately, careful not to disturb the peace that cocoons them. Pressing his hand further on Eddie’s shoulder, because he knows Eddie like no one has ever known him before, like no one will ever know him again, Buck asks, “Here?” Eddie nods, tightening his fingers around Buck’s forearm. “It’s kind of…” Eddie pauses to find the perfect words, until he realizes he doesn’t need them. “It’s kind of for you. And for me. For us. You could… I’d like you to get it too.” The corners of Buck’s lips curl in a soft smile as his fingers curl around Eddie’s shoulder. “I’d like to get it too.” (or, Buck and Eddie keep getting matching tattoos, and then discover that maybe everyone is right when they think it means something more.)

"I think we should go clubbing again," Buck announces in between Forza races. "We have a Friday in the middle of our 96, it would be perfect." "You guys planning something?" Hen asks, coming over from the kitchen with a bowl of trail mix. "I'm trying to get Eddie to come pick up guys with me," Buck says. Hen's eyebrows arch high above her glasses. "Really," Hen says. "It's more of a wingman situation," Eddie tries to explain. "Yeah, Eddie picks the guys so I don't make stupid decisions," Buck says, flicking through menus to pick a new racetrack. The combination of Hen munching peanuts and looking back and forth between them makes Eddie feel like he's a zoo exhibit. Best Friends, captured in the wild, still feral, exhibiting behaviors heretofore unknown to science. "Well, good luck with - all that," Hen says pointedly to Eddie. She is definitely not talking about the video game.

(23,202 words | Mature | Chapters: 1/1)
“Bless your heart, you really are new to this. Good for y’all, though. I’m glad this ship is… accepting.” Eddie straightens in his seat. “What does that mean?” All four wince as a young man taps the microphone onstage. “Testing, testing,” he jokes. “Welcome to the Cruisin’ Couples Trivia Tournament!” The patrons around them cheer. Eddie digs his nails into Buck’s skin harsh enough to make him wince. “Oh,” he breathes. “This is for couples.” or: After getting dumped, Buck is left with two tickets to a weeklong cruise. Eddie steps in to support a friend in need, but complications arise when his friend becomes his fake husband. All's fair in love, war, and trivia. OR or: The Cruise Fic

“I want to ask Buck to marry me.” Christopher stares at Eddie, eyes so vibrantly blue in a way that reminds him of all the times that strangers would assume Buck was his father. Sometimes, he'd stand behind them in the grocery store and imagine Christopher was Buck's. That Buck was always theirs. All Christopher says that breaks Eddie out of his mind is, "Okay?” or Eddie has a question for the most important people in Buck’s life.

Don’t get a hotel.” “Buck,” Eddie says, a searching look in his eyes. “You don’t have to do that. This is—this isn’t your mess to deal with, I can figure it out.” “I know I don’t have to,” Buck argues. “I want to.” or; Eddie and Chris move in with Buck after a fire. Buck breaks up with his boyfriend, buys a house with Eddie, and realizes he's in love. In precisely that order.

Buck is fucking frozen. His mouth is dry, and his brain is blank except for oh no, oh fuck reverberating in his frontal lobe. He can’t answer. He feels the pressure against the metaphorical closet door, the hinges creaking against the weight of the boxes crashing down. “Are those… hearing aids?” He registers Eddie's voice through the ringing in his ears. It takes him a moment before he can finally whisper it out. When have you felt the most loved?” “Don’t make a big thing of this, Buck. Promise?” Buck made a show of crossing his heart, brows still raised curiously. “I’m not sure I’ve ever… really felt loved in a relationship? I’m not convinced that I know what makes me feel loved…” OR - After finding out that Eddie doesn't know what his love language is, Buck sets about finding out for him. May realised a very long time ago that Buck was basically her stepbrother. So, when the lightning strike finally provided the impetus for Bobby to admit that he also brought a kid into their family, she had every intention of seizing the opportunity to properly integrate Buck into the Grant-Nash family. When Buck said he was a "bartender" in "South America" what he actually meant was "stripper" in "Mexico." And when Eddie said, "What's your problem?" what he actually meant was, "Is this about the time you gave me a lap dance?" In other words, there's a few things the 118 doesn't know about Buck. Or Eddie. Or Buck and Eddie's relationship.

thinking about: the tension or conflict to come between tommy and buck, how they'll spend time at their own places separately until they figure out what to do, what else needs to be said, what they want, what's going to happen to them...
buck finds one of tommy's hoodies while doing laundry. he doesn't put it on right away, folds it neatly or tosses it aside and goes to work in his own clothes. at the end of his shift he climbs the stairs to his bedroom and is met with the sight of tommy's hoodie on his bed, reminded of his absence. buck ends up wearing the hoodie to bed, missing tommy and hating this fight they're in/impasse they're at.
meanwhile tommy is finding signs of evan all over his house - not just physical items like clothing and books and kitchenware, but signs that he was here in the reorganisation of the kitchen cupboards and additions to tommy's calendar. the herb plants on the windowsill because it's not their season at the moment but evan likes to cook with them so tommy brought them inside; tommy has plans for a small greenhouse in his garden but hasn't had the time.
but it's not just evan, it's everyone connected to evan who is now a part of tommy's life too: the brochures for outings with chris, the drawing jee drew of 'uncle pilot tommy' on his fridge alongside photos of group gatherings next and double dates. it's karen's birthday next week. he has plans with eddie. there's a movie festival him and howie were talking about next month. it hurts to think about losing evan, but it's salt in the wound thinking about losing everyone in evan's life, because even if by some miracle they still want tommy in their lives, the thought of being nothing more than friends or acquaintances with evan would be too much to bear; the only way tommy could hope to move on would be with a clean slate (even if his heart would never recover), take that training gig out of state.
#bucktommy#evantommy#.txt#911 spec#clothes sharing#fic fodder#this turned out longer than i thought i intended. i swear it just started out as nebulous angsty clothes sharing vibes...

Eddie arrives earlier now and leaves later for his shifts, and he is focused at work. He doesn't smile as often, but he does smile - usually at Buck explaining something he's recently found out - and he still teases his colleagues, he's still focused, he's still working together with Buck to protect Chimney, Hen and Ravi from Gerrard as much as possible.
(Ostensibly, they're not on Gerrard's hit list: Gerrard doesn't know them well enough to try to target their weaknesses. Buck has even brought out the clipboard, except it's now wielded as a shield: the two of them triple check everything to make sure that no fault can be found.)
It's Hen who first notices the thousand-yard stare when Eddie's alone at the weight bench or when he's seated at the table. Like he's waiting for something that he can't name. She's seen that look before, in the mirror, when she was much younger and the future seemed to run right into a wall. She's felt it recently too, when she and Karen return home and they're in bed and the lights are out, and the emptiness spills out in an aching silence. (Karen tries, how she tries, but it isn't her and her decisions that led to Mara being taken from them.) She shares some of her pain with Eddie, and he shares a little of his, and they find time to have brunch or lunch together on their days off.
Chimney isn't the most perceptive regarding Eddie, but after seeing Hen reach out, he also makes the effort to invite Eddie over for meals more often. It's easy to cook for one more hungry firefighter, and Eddie likes teaching Jee some basic Spanish. Sometimes they play ball at the station before their shift begins, and Chimney sees how it helps Eddie to lose the tension in his shoulders to have that time to unwind. If it keeps Eddie from getting stuck in his head, that's good for the team. Chimney tries really hard not to be too obvious about his checking in, but Eddie pats his shoulder one day and says that he'll take care of himself, he has a duty to stay safe.
Maddie has a way of getting Eddie to open up about Christopher whenever they play with Jee, while Chimney manages the older kids. One time Eddie accepts the offer to sleep over, and even told a bedtime story to Jee in Spanish. Later that night, Maddie and Chimney listened to Eddie talk about reading to Chris, how the best sound in the world was Chris' laughter. Maddie held his hand and squeezed his fingers, and told him that it would be very good of him to let his son know all of that in a written letter, so that Chris would be able to keep Eddie's words with him in a physical form, that even apart, the love could still be felt.
Buck and Tommy do their best to include him. In fact, they gang up on him: if Tommy's available for basketball or muay thai or karaoke night, he grabs Eddie along; if Tommy's working but both Buck and Eddie are free, Buck enlists Eddie's help in furniture shopping or recipe tasting. They even start a movie night thing at Eddie's place. They show up with beer and snacks, and they have a jar with a selection of titles to pick from that they each contribute to. Eddie puts his foot down on them cuddling on his couch, however.
Bobby visits Eddie, a couple of times, "just to catch up on news". He asks about the prayer book, and guides Eddie through a couple of devotionals that helped Bobby through his darkest patch. "I'm not saying that you must return to practicing religion," he tells Eddie sincerely, because he wants this promising young man to keep out of the mire, to become a light for others. "But you and I know that sometimes, when we're stuck at the very lowest, it takes a bit of faith to begin climbing out again."
"A bit of faith?"
"A bit, as small as a mustard seed."

I don't know if it's just me but I kinda wanted more to be done about the chimney punching Buck scene. Like you have Eddie talking to him and maybe he should have said something about Jee being admitted and then fine. But like physically assaulting someone isn't the way forward. Also bold of chim to say you really bucked that up after the Eddie thing when I can't remember him even apologising for what he did.
Maybe it's just me I know not everyone is perfect nor do they always react the best way but the show does gloss over things that should be brought up a bit more.
Maybe I would if liked to seen reactions to buck flinching when chim came back or even from Bobby after he had buck up against the wall over looking in his book s1. Or just someone doing something about the sleeping with your therapist and how that is NOT OK.
#evan buckley#chimney han#chim#911 on abc#911#911 fox#im probably making a too big of a deal about this

Day 11/100 days of Productivity
12th-13th April, 2024
Academia
I watched a video on Concentration terms from a JEE channel to learn a trick. It's at around 50:00.
I watched this video on questions on Concentration terms but its not really NEET related.
I learnt about Frog from quick video lessons on Unacademy X. I also did around 20 questions, not enough though.
Watched about 25 minutes of this lecture on frog until the hyperrealistic amphibian actually came on the screen. I'll have to finish this tomorrow. The lecture is actually really amazing.
Watched 1 hour of physics lecture on Solids.
I did about 56 questions of Biology but couldn't count the correct-incorrect questions.
I did about 40-50 questions from different chapters in biology from the book that I was practicing from but haven't completed any chapters yet.
Watched 41 minutes of a lecture on Molecular Biology.
Watched a few short video lectures of Chemical Equilibrium on Unacademy X.
Non Academia
I started watching Era's tours. Watched 15 minutes of it only. It's 3.5 hours long. I'm gonna watch it either when I'm taking a long break or when I'm done with my exams.
Watched this video on game theory. Very fascinating. How being nice, but not a doormat is the best strategy you can have long term. This video was basically an introduction to game theory for me.
I'm also taking part in 20 days of April breaking the cycle challenge of @thelastneuron so, it's day 1/20 (technically its day 1/18).
Kharbuja season is here.
A lot of things happened on 12th, and the only thing i can share is that it was my periods and i just sat watched tv for the whole evening. But its fine. I'll have to compensate for that today.
I'm gonna try to give better than my best in this new challenge started by my friend. Since, it's about breaking a cycle, I'm gonna go out and break the cycle of mediocrity in my efforts. Lets do this!
-Tanishka.
