Forgive me if I’m imagining things but that’s Jo Bingham (Etcetera) as Victoria right here right?

Ik Phyllida was pregnant during the filming and that Jo was covering Victoria during pekes and pollicles but damn I thought it was only the part where they put the dog masks on not the whole number. Still very interesting!!!

There once was a nanny on fire who dressed in haute couture attire. If you come out to play in the garden she may fulfill all your burning desires.

A few days ago I started working on this illustration of Nanny Ashtoreth wearing the iconic Dauphine en feu ("Dauphine on fire") outfit by Thierry Mugler (design details and references under the cut).

Yesterday I realized that the Ineffable Kinktober prompt of the day was "role play", so... that limerick just poured out of me.

Oh, and I wasn't originally planning to draw what's under the outfit, that's also something that kinda just... happened 😳

Reference images

I initially came across this image when I was compiling my Crowley-coded outfits from The Nanny post. As you can see, it was the main reference for the right side of the illustration.

Upon further research, I found out that this design was part of Thierry Mugler's Les Infernales collection (Fall/Winter 1988). The outfit was named Dauphine en feu and modeled by his muse Dauphine de Jerphanion.

I used this other image as the main reference for the left side of the illustration. It's been reposted into oblivion and nobody ever says where it came from (I suspect it's a scan from a fashion magazine but I'm not sure). I linked to the source with the best quality I could find:

I spent a good month coming up with names, and some good ones, too. Eda, Coconut, Dolly, Madgod's Boot, one of my top three finalists was Phyllida Crowley (who played Victoria in the original 1999 Cats cuz my cat acts a lot like Victoria)

First day of Cats 1998 Anniversary Celebration! I'm so happy! Today prompt: favourite actor.

And after first excitment I'm sad now. I don't have a fav! I don't know them personally, so I can't say "That one I like, that one don't". I love all of those wonderfull people, because they changed my life. Because of their hard, unusual work they together created somethin amazing, something... well, lifechanging. So, I want to say "Thank you! You are the best! I love you!" to all of them!
