Pook at Paglikha: Philippine science fiction & fantasy (and everything in between)

The anthology seeks works which examine, interrogate, and aim to reconstruct the present conditions of society. We are looking for non-realist works that maximize the potential of fiction to imagine different realities while confronting present social inequalities and injustices.

Submission guidelines: 1. Writers may send unpublished works in any Philippine language or English. 2. Writers may submit short stories, prose poems, comics, or any other work which they feel is in line with the project of this anthology. 3. Works must be between 500 to 20,000 words except for comics, which must be 5 to 10 pages, 6in x 9in, 300 dpi, black and white. 4. Works must have elements which deal directly with present Philippine social realities. 5. Email your work to phsff2017@gmail.com. Include your byline, title of work, a short bio, and contact details in the body of your email. The subject should be ‘Language_Genre_LastName’. 6. Attach your work as docx, doc, or rtf. Pdf for special formatting only. Do not indicate your name in the file. 7. Writers may submit up to two (2) works.

The deadline for submissions is on December 31, 2017, 11:59 PM. New and unpublished writers are highly encouraged to submit.

Know the reason why? It's because the mere fact that we are gaining experiences the further we decrease the quality and essence of life, and the longer we acquire wisdom the more we forget being emotionally attached and stable. In some instances, the heart does really shrink in terms of love rooting from heartaches, but don't get it wrong because the mere fact it shrinks is that the system needs to compensate for the diminishing actions that the heart overtakes. It shrinks for just a bit of time until it finally heals the wounded part, and then eventually it will continue to work again with a braver and stronger stability than before. This image only wants us to realize that no matter how hard we are going through and how tough the situations we're into; we should always remember that being a good and big-hearted person is something priceless and something worthy! All we need to do is to wait for that allotted time for us to be on that total reparation.
