I've had some drawing motivation back and my head full of blorbos and aus for the last few days and I wanted to share them so here!

second one is from my fate swap au that i'm cooking and that i love dearly, it's super angsty, basically it's fusion and some characters and ocs switch "fate" in it, Shoyo takes Ryuga's place and vice versa, Gingka almost dies in the volcano and becomes phoenix and Hyoma takes Gingka's place as the protagonist and pegasus' wielder. I also did some expressions practice with canon characters and shoyo because them <3 and a gingka redraw/redesign

Mayblade Day 21 - Disguise

Warning: flickering images/bright colours, spoilers for Metal Fusion (Metal Series S.1) - specifically about Phoenix's identity.

For the prompt disguise I immediately thought of Phoenix. Think I was originally going to use this for an Kyoya and Gingka AMV, but this is better :3

This is my first time trying to put a proper AMV together so please Pardon the poor quality/wonkyness in some spots. My video editor was fighting me :( (any spelling errors are completely my fault tho lol)

I have beef with Phoenix.

Why is it now in 2024 I am now finding out about the Phoenix and the Dragon love story. I'm saying it now, Tyson and Kai didn't have wives because they were in love but couldn't be together due to Kai's family and when they meet again, that's when they try to be together

Thinking about Ryo/Ryuusei's and Ginga's names again, that Ryuusei stands for "meteor" and Ginga "galaxy". That meteors burn up in the sky long before reaching the ground. That galaxies hold countless stars, and their solar systems, and every big and little thing in between.

Ryuusei gave his son a name that was so much bigger than his own, like he was certain Ginga would grow to be so much stronger, kinder, more important than he was. Because what was a little shooting star, not an actual star at all, in comparison to billions of stars? What was a brief flash of a dying flame to the heat that warmed whole solar systems?

And he seems genuinely happy in the manga when he realizes Ginga had passed him in strength, handing over his bandana like he said he would. Like it was meant to happen. Natural.

As much as Ginga is shown to look up to him--dressing like him and wielding a Pegasus evolved from his and copying special moves made by him-- Ryuusei clearly looked up to him in return, long before Ginga took up saving the world as a side hobby. So why wouldn't he name his son something to reflect that, a name so much grander than his own?

After all, in a remote village, you can't gaze up at the clear night sky without coming face to face with your galaxy and a mere sliver of its stars. You can miss seeing meteors fall, but you can't avoid that.

My First Beyblade Tournament!

And it's here! The video from my first ever Beyblade Tournament! Join me as I compete in my very first Beyblade tournament at MN-X: September Shakedown held at the Minneapolis Central Library on September 7th! Armed with my Beyblades Phoenix, Venom, and Thanos, I faced off against some awesome competitors and learned a lot along the way. Special shoutout to @joseatroom  who acted as the cameraman, capturing the action with his new DJI Osmo Action 4 camera (though we had some trouble with lighting and focus—lesson learned for next time!). I met some incredible bladers and can’t wait to take what I learned to the next tournament.

I gotta say, it really said something about Aiger’s mental state/feelings about Phi breaking Achilles when he even saw Xcalius as Phoenix. ):

Xavier and Xcalius, I’d say, gave Aiger and Achilles one of the purest battles they’ve ever had; the one in episode 24, I mean. Both Xavier and Aiger went all out, and they had so much fun doing it.

Out of anyone (besides maybe Laban), I wanna say that Xavier was really Aiger’s best rival in Turbo. Xavier’s whole motivation is finding someone he can go all-out against without ever having to hold back, while also not having a corrupt resonance with his bey. He’s like the uhhhuhhh gimme a second I’m gettin’ there, the antithesis of the corrupt resonance mentality, in a way. He doesn’t want to go all-out to destroy a bey, he just wants to have fun.

(Speaking of, side tangent: it’s pretty ironic that the same episode that Aiger had his purest battle in Turbo, he began to get corrupt after seeing Phi break Leopard. o-o)

So, for Aiger to look at Xcalius and think it’s Phoenix… is just so sad. ;A;

That’s also why I think Xavier seemed disappointed, but very concerned at the same time.

After Aiger lost the second match, Xavier said, “That match was shameful. What’s wrong with my rival?”, but I really take it as him saying, “How much did Phi hurt you that you started seeing Xcalius—my bey—as the same one that broke Achilles?”

(Another side tangent: Saber/Impact Wall [used in the first round] looks a LOT like Revive Crush, which I think is definitely part of why in the second round, Aiger saw it as Phoenix.)
