One of the problems I had with CATU is that a lot of plot points didn’t feel earned or finished. Even Doof and Isabella’s plotline, which was my favorite from the movie, did not feel complete (not to mention that Isabella, as much as I love her…was a taaaaaddddd botched imo; let’s be real here, she HAD to be one hundred percent in the right according to the quota. I was rooting more for Doof than for her cuz I’m sick of them making Doof just bad at EVERYTHING). I kinda feel like Doof and Isabella needed a moment where they BOTH shined and learned something from the other - instead, their part of the plot was POINTLESS, because Phineas was the one who ended up taking charge and no one even acknowledged this. Isabella giving Doof that patch somehow touched me more than the mug scene, but the fact remains that it was sadly very much unearned. That’s just my two cents though.

I did like that the kids interacted with Doof tho - like, I just like their interactions in general. I feel like they’d get along swell. 😂

Huh, if I had a nickel for a tv movie based on a popular Disney television animation series that has a stand-alone story and serves as an introduction to unfamiliar viewers of the series but has Easter eggs and nods to longtime fans of said series and happens to be a musical and involves the galaxy/space/universe, I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

i can't believe they're putting out a new season of phineas and ferb. i don't feel great about that... of course if its good i'll be the first one to celebrate but it i do think overall the last season was weaker than the first few and i think the best place this series could be at is comfortable resting on its laurels. the candace against the universe movie was plenty cute we can be done there. we don't need ot make anything more.

the only thing i'd want to see from bringing this show back is the who framed roger rabbit style 2d/live action hybrid movie that was reportedly in development and then either changed pace and ended up as catu or was canned entirely

it's also like this is just example of there being no room in animation for new ideas. the industry is completely in shambles now and they seem to be under the impression that churning out tried and true ip content will save it... financially in the short term they might get what theyre looking for. especially in the case of feature animation rather than tv animation; inside out 2 proved that if nothing else. but eventually theyre going to run out of shit to recycle and will have to let new artists make works theyre passionate about to start the Next cycle of 'safe' ips to inevitably reboot.
