Hello everyone to Ducky bites. The food blog for food lover and food from videogames, movies and shows that people enjoy.
Ever want to eat a simple dish and yet wanting to try new cuisine. Chicken adobo is a quick and easy dish from the Philippines.
All you need is
Ingredient
6 chicken thighs
1/2 soy sauce
1/2 W.vinegar
1oz Ginger
4-5 garlic cloves
1tsp black pepper
( blackpeppercorn for more traditional)
1 medium onion sliced
1 1/2 water
2tsp brown Sugar
2 bayleaf
Scallions for garnish
1. Slice your onion and set aside and same with ginger*. Chop your garlic and set aside as well.
Option*: when dealing with ginger and peeling it. Use a spoon to peel ginger because it's safer. Another way is use a knife, to get in between the cracks but be safe about it.
2. Place the chicken in a bowl and pour in the soy sauce and vinegar with the ginger, garlic and black pepper*. Plus remove any loose stuff so it won't be contaminated
*option: if you have black peppercorn add inside for a more authentic dish, if you don't like it just substitute for ground or course pepper.
3. Wrap your marinaded chicken with a plastic wrap and let it marinade in the fridge for 2 hours.
4. Set your stove on a medium high head.
5. In a pan, add in any oil that you like about 1 tbsp and let it heat up.
6. Add in your onions and let them brown slightly but not too brown.
7. Make a well or hole in the middle and add in your marinaded chicken, skin side down. Once it brown, flip the chicken.
8. Add in the soysauce marinade as well as the water, sugar and bayleaf. Make sure take the scum off, Let it simmer for 45 minutes until the chicken is fork tender or falls apart.
Option*: makes use to take the scum off
Serve it with a bed of rice and the sauce plus garnish with the Scallions and enjoy.

Let’s explore the remarkable Filipiniana-themed of former Beauty Queen Samantha Bernardo and her groom Scott Moore. Beauty Queen-turned host Samantha Bernardo just recently posted pictures of their prenuptial shoot on her Instagram that took place in the Ruins, in Bacolod City. The lovely couple tied the knot and went with a Filipino-themed prenup shoot.
Miss Grand International 2020 1st Runner-up, Samantha Bernardo chose the Ruins which features a quaint architecture encompassed by vast greenery. On top of that, the couple also looks dashing with their traditional Filipino clothes. Scott Moore, her groom, is clad with the famous Barong Tagalog which absolutely complimented Samantha’s Filipiniana dress.

It’s unclear when their romance began but pictures of their private relationship started circulating online in December 2020. However, last February 20, Samantha posted an announcement about her engagement as she posted a selfie of herself wearing an engagement ring. The Beauty Queen finally said “I Do” and is ready to face a new chapter in life as Mrs. Moore.
The Filipiniana-themed prenuptial shoot symbolizes their true love that continues to blossom in the country. Scott, on other hand, is definitely proud to embrace the heritage and cultural roots of his wife. Nothing feels better than a partner who’s definitely game to delve more about your culture, and his attire says a lot about it.

Negros-based photo studio, Dagway Photos, made sure every glance was worthwhile. The shots were skillfully taken in every angle, making the couple look glamorous than ever. With the Ruins being a top attraction, the setting certainly complimented the photography well. As a result, the photos exude a dramatic ambiance that made love even more apparent.

Furthermore, the traditional Filipino outfits worn by the couple also promotes the deeper cultural roots of the country. Nowadays, we can see numerous locals wearing Filipiniana wedding dresses with the goal of celebrating ceremonies in a distinct concept. Wearing these outfits provide a unique experience of being closer to your homeland. Moreover, some people also add more details to make the events more traditional.
Based on Samantha’s post on Instagram, the gown comes from the one and only Leonard Geraldes, who’s known to be “mangleycouture” on Instagram. We can see the pretty details of the gown that showcases an old-fashion design with a modern twist. Also, the embroidery is top-notch and possesses a unique character.

someone asked about a gold blood pretending to be a blood they werent. what about the time equius made an aradiabot and filled it with his own blood to change her class? homestuck needs more of this sicko shit and more of the strange food too. thats what makes the cast feel like aliens
Yeah, Equius wanted Aradia to be equal with him by making sure she has the same blood color as him in that new body. Epilogues Meat also mentions that Karkat ate CHOCOLATE COVERED BEETLES, confirming that yes, trollkind eats bugs and insects. They would find shit like casu marzu (cheese with maggots), kamaro (mole crickets), mezcal worm, abuos (ant egg caviar), adobong salagubang (seasoned may beetle), uok (coconut worms), and other insect dishes across the world as actual meals for them. I mean, this is the same Alternia alien trollkind that has their Christmas decorate LITERAL MONSTER SHIT instead of a pine tree. And it really is shit, even Karkat says BEHEMOTH LEAVINGS towards his Future self, confirming that the trolls celebrate the holidays with POOP. Makes me wonder when people ship troll x human, would the fans want the humans engage in troll culture? Or would the trolls be corrected that their customs and beliefs were wrong and that human kind is better and healthier? I'm definitely on the side that has humans fixing them. No way fans would accept something like Dave kissing Karkat after the troll ate a dung beetle for dessert.
#homestuck#homestuck fandom#Alternia#Homestuck Epilogues#And yes I know most of the other foods listed here are Philipino dishes#That's only because I am Filipino#And as much as I love the culture there#And have a phobia of bugs#This shit disgusts me#And given the current situation of people wanting to eat bugs and plant-based food#I'm amazed people haven't started cooking those meals

In the Philippines, Barong Tagalog is considered the national dress of Filipino men. Barong is made with combined elements from native Filipino and Spanish clothing styles. It is traditionally made with Nipis, which is usually woven from Abacá or Piña. Nowadays, Barong has evolved and opened up opportunities for other fabrics and designs to be incorporated into the clothing. In current times, it’s common to witness Barong clothings in different styles and colors. Contrary to tradition, it’s common to see Filipinos not wear the white traditional Barong in various local events such as weddings, christenings, and meetings. Many locals have now opted for modifications and variations in their Barong clothes.
