Let Me Worship You
(C!Technoblade X Gn!Reader)
Tumblr media
Request 9: Could I perhaps request a c!techno x gn!reader where maybe the reader is good friends with Dadza and meets Techno one day and they fall for each other? Bonus if the reader is maybe a great builder like dadza but too shy to actually meet anyone so they just build things quietly and then move on and no one but dadza really knows them? Soft! and/or protective! Techno would be cute but not needed!! 😊😊😊

I hope you don't mind the shameless art I made for this lol.
At this point in his life, Technoblade had known Phil for centuries, they started their own brief empire together and he watched him raise Wilbur the best a single father could. It was about five years ago when you started following Phil around, the first time Technoblade met you was entirely by accident. He just needed to drop off some building supplies to Phil and Wilbur when he saw you trifling through Phil’s stuff, you had gorgeous white wings and when the sun hit them just right he saw flecks of gold peek through. His piglin side was immediately enamored with the gold wanted to reach out and run a delicate hand through the feathers. Technoblade set his jaw and summoned his ax to his side, you turned around (e/c) eyes widening with shock and fear. Technoblade couldn’t help but feel pure satisfaction rush through his veins seeing your fright. You held up your hands and everything you were holding tumbled to the ground, wings puffing up with shock and horror. Hearing the noise Phil wandered into the room and was quick to diffuse the situation, you hid behind the taller male and Techno gave a grunt of an apology in your direction.
From that moment forward you were as much of a staple in his life as Phil was, Phil had explained Wilbur had found you half dead a little ways away from his home. You had wings like his and Phil couldn’t let you die without answers, his crows would never let him live it down. After he got what he needed from you, Phil noticed just how handy you were around the house especially when you were building things so he kept you around. Technoblade never really interacted with you unless Phil was there to interpret, you weren’t much of a talker and Technoblade was never one for long-drawn-out conversation anyway. However, when Phil had killed Wilbur and he and Technoblade had to move north you inevitably followed the birdman. That’s when Technoblade really began to understand and get to know you and your little quirks. He noticed that when you concentrated on blueprints to a certain build you’d stick your tongue out all cute like, or the soft songs you’d hum when you thought no one was listening.
But Technoblade always listens.
He also noticed that since you and Phil had moved in there was an abundance of not only Phil’s crows flying around but a few stray morning doves pecking at the snow as well.
With the encouragement of the voices, Technoblade had gathered up enough courage to attempt to hold onto a conversation with you. As he walked up to you he noticed the soft coo of a dove was heard, catching your attention. You turned around and your eyes locked with his own, he watched your shoulders tense and face flush a little as he approached you.
Off to a rocky start already. Great.
“Ugh. Hey?” Technoblade grunted hands crossing over his chest,
‘Hey? HEY? is that the best you can do? Look at them they’re cowering. Good, they should be, which means we’re well known.’
Technoblade cleared his throat a little as you held up a hand with a shy wave, “hello.” You greeted, your voice was soft and sweet like honey in his ears. The exact opposite of Wilbur and Tommy’s, he found himself enjoying the tone. “So um...did I do something wrong?” Your wings folded back and he watched you methodically run your fingers through the feathers.
‘Look at the gold flecks! I want them! I wanna pet them they’re so cute! So small and helpless like a little worm. Worm? Really? What it’s an analogy! A bad one! Shut up she’s giving us a look!’
“No? Did you do something I should be concerned about?”
“No!” You sputtered out in panic, dropping the bricks in your hand stumbling back so they wouldn’t crush your toes.
You had fast reflexes, that’s good.
The morning dove around you cooed in distress fluttering up to your shoulder, nesting there like it was its home. “I’m alright,” You whispered eyes going soft as you scratched under the bird’s chin, Technoblade watched with interest. Technoblade gathered why Phil really liked you, you were almost an exact replica of the mild manner builder, other than the anarchist tendencies.
“Didn’t mean to make you drop your stuff,” Technoblade clicked his tongue softly bending down to gather your materials. “Where do you want them?”
“You don’t have to-”
“I asked you a question kid.” Your mouth snapped shut and your lips pressed into a thin tense line. Technoblade observed as your eyebrow twitched, oh you were annoyed. You didn’t voice your annoyance he couldn’t help but mentally comment how cute that look was on you. A huff spilled past your lips and you directed him where to place the bricks in their proper locations. The both of you fell into light conversation after that, he caused you to laugh a few times and it made him feel oddly warm inside. He didn’t even realize that the sun began to set until you pointed it out, Technoblade rubbed the stubble on his chin glancing at you out of the corner of his eye. You were staring up at the sunset, the orange and red colors shone through the gaps in your feathers, your eyes were alight with wonder. You looked like an old Greek statue, an angel carved out of the finest marble and gemstones.
He flushed when you turned to face him, embarrassed to have been caught staring at you so blatantly. You smiled the tips of your pointing ears turning pink, “You should stay the night.” Technoblade spoke without really thinking about the consequences, “there’s plenty of room.”
“Alright. I think I will. It’s not safe flying at night anyway.” Your smile only growing in size at his offer, he made the right decision then, he led you and your little dove through the snow and into his cabin.
Spring rolled around and there was a little house set up right next to Technoblade’s home. It fit his aesthetic nicely, made out of wood, and always had its lanterns lit, it was your home. However, you began to spend most of your time at Technoblade’s home talking with the retired Blood God. You and Phil also had begun molting which was Technoblade’s least favorite time of the year mostly because of all the feathers. However, this year in particular he was particularly enamored with your shiny golden feathers he would find around his home. Maybe he collected them and kept them in his ender chest, it wasn’t creepy he was cleaning. At least that’s what Technoblade told himself, not because he found your feathers beautiful or anything and was enamored by the shine.
“Hey Kid,” Technoblade asked from his seat across from you in his sitting room, you picked your head up and tilted it to the side in a questioning manner. Your wings were ruffled, messy and you looked uncomfortable to be interrupted from your grooming. “Need some help?” He watched your entire face turn bright red in the process, “look you can say no. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“I’m not uncomfortable!” You argued, “just caught off guard a little Tech. I never thought it’d be something you were interested in.” Standing up from the chair you spread your wings wide, pulled over a stool, and flopped in front of Technoblade. He was a little shocked at how quickly you agreed, they must’ve really been bothering you.
“Do I...just stick my hands in there or…”
You tossed your head back and let out a roaring laugh,
“heh? What’s so funny huh? I don’t wanna hurt you.” Technoblade snapped at you with an embarrassed huff, your laughter slowly dyed down after a few more seconds.
“Sorry I just. Is that what you say to the ladies too?” Technoblade choked and blanked never once have you said something so dirty before, he didn’t even know you were capable of making jokes like that.
“I say that to everyone actually, I don’t discriminate to just women- I’m not helping my case am I? I should stop talking.” It only served to send you into another set of loud giggles, Technoblade was red in the face and stuck his hands into the little feathers by your back. He felt you tense up for a moment before relaxing into his touch, you let out a soft sound of pleasure. Technoblade chose to ignore the sound even if it sent the voices into a frenzy, to mark and claim, and...he was absolutely not going to finish that thought. You both sat there for about an hour and thirty minutes, fixing up your feathers making you preen at the touches. You were smiling like an idiot by the time he was done and you spread your feathers wide, almost like you were showing them off. Technoblade couldn’t help but feel proud that you liked the work he did so much,
“They’re so soft! Thank you Techno!” You turned towards him, eyes practically glowing with adoration. His face turned red, you were stunning, he kissed you that night and by wintertime, the both of you were an official couple.
Phil was quick to catch onto the change in demeanor between the couple, he clapped Techno on the back as congratulations. You were out on another building project, making a little farm because you knew how much Technoblade loved potatoes, you really were attentive. Surprising Technoblade, Phil had also threatened his first cannon life if he ever hurt you in any way, shape, or form. Techno was a little surprised Phil would go as far as to threaten him, but he promised his old friend he wouldn’t let any man, woman, or creature lay their hands on you, including himself.
It was the dead of winter and temperatures had dropped drastically, Technoblade had made both you and Phil warm clothes for the occasion that matched with his own winter gear. He had given you a friendship emerald and in return, you made him a necklace with one of your golden feathers on it.
Technoblade cherished the gift with his entire being. On occasion, while he was out on a long journey he’d press gentle kisses to it when he missed you, and he swore sometimes he swore it moved on its own. He walked into the cabin to see you spread across his couch, a book on your lap, wings curled in tight against your body. He smiled softly dropping the wood he gathered by the door, he snuck over to you and pressed a kiss against your cheek.
“Hi, sunshine,” You greeted turning your head to look at him, his face burned and his chest filled with warmth. Technoblade moved to sit in your lap with a smirk, he plucked the book from your hands to look at the cover. You frowned in his direction, “You lose my spot and I’m hitting you over the head with it.”
“Violent.” He tutted softly bopping you on the head with said book, you shot him a cold look.
“Hypocrite.”
“Nerd.” He responded casually, you let out a little huff, wings ruffling in frustration.
There’s that look, he loved that look. God, you were so cute.
You slapped your hands on his cheeks, and it shocked him back to attention. He felt your fingers spread across his cheeks and your thumbs brush against the apples of his face. Technoblade’s eyes softened and he snuggled into your open palms, he saw you smile and his eyes dropped to a content close. Technoblade did something he hadn’t done in years, he felt the rumble in his throat before it happened, he purred.
His eyes snapped open with fear and embarrassment, but the way your eyes were sparkling quelled the feelings immediately.
“Did you just purr?”
“So what if I did?” He grumbled another purr mixing with a growl,
“That’s the cutest thing in the entire world Mr. Big Bad anarchist. You only purr for me?” The light teasing in your voice sent him aflame, “Aw you do!” You cooed rubbing his cheeks with your thumbs again, he buried his face in your chest as more purrs spilled from his mouth without him wanting them to. “No need to hide it, keep them purrs coming.” Technoblade’s entire face was red as you reached forward to pluck his glasses from his nose. You placed them on the end table and grabbed a blanket wrapping you both inside a cocoon of warmth.
“You tell anyone about this and we’re breaking up.”
“Deal. Your secrets safe with me.” You hummed quietly running his hands through his pink locks melting against your touch. He finally relaxed completely resting the side of his head against your chest to listen to your heartbeat. Technoblade purred and you could feel the rumbles of his chest against your own. The ferocious Blade was akin to a cat, grumpy on the outside but a big softie who wanted attention on the inside. Leaning forward you kissed his forehead, another louder purr was pulled from the man and pressed his forehead back against your lips. “Good boy.~” You teased scratching under his chin he sent you a tired look but the redness in his cheeks gave away how much he enjoyed the praise.
“Shut up. You’re being cringe.” He growled with no real bite or fire,
“Take a nap big guy. You deserve one. You’re safe with me.” Technoblade yawned loudly at your words, his jaw unhinging a little, only proving to show how tired he really was. “I’ll protect you, always.” Technoblade smiled sheepishly and allowed himself to let his guard down just this once to fall asleep in his lover’s arms.

Platonic! Phil x Teenager! Winged! GN! Reader
Warnings: injuries, mentions of being hunted, preening
Word count: 2.6K
Synopsis: After living outside on your own for two years without any proper knowledge on survival you set up camp in a forest beside a tundra. Crows find you when you’re hiding away from mobs in a tree and alert Phil that there is an injured winged child abandoned in the forest. After meeting you he takes you back to his cabin to teach you how to properly care for your wings and nurse you back to health. He may have promised himself no more children, but what was one more?
A/n: This was mostly written in a sleep deprived 4 AM haze of creativity but i’ve proofread it in a more consious state of mind and all so it should be fine now. Despite that i still believe that sleep deprived nights where half of the words that get written down are incomprehensible are the best nights to write creativity wise. By the way, I told y’all i write for other people except Techno, this is the proof.

The running water was cold but fresh against your skin, it gave you the opportunity to refill your water supply and the area allowed for a temporary camp.
You had been wandering the lands for a year or two now, but without any proper teaching on how to defend yourself and survive, you had to figure things out yourself.
It had been the hardest in the beginning, you struggled to provide food for yourself and without the knowledge on how to start a fire you were often too cold as well.
Since then things had gotten better, you survived mostly on berries, not being able to stay in one place long enough to start a proper farm and not skilled enough to hunt proper animals.
The reason why you hadn't settled down permanently was directly tied to your fear of people, you had been chased out of your home by hunters. Besides that, your stubborn nature insisted you would be fine on your own like you had been for the past two years.
Reality however differed despite your unwillingness to believe it.
The wings that sprouted from your back were coated in a layer of dirt, the feathers ruffled and out of place. Loose feathers still weaved through the others, some blocking the way for new feathers to appear creating a constant itching feeling between the feathers.
You had never been properly taught how to take care of your wings, two messy cuts in the back of your clothing spared barely enough space for them to sprout out. For over two years they had stayed unintentionally neglected, pressed against your back as you were unable to fly with them in their current state.
Besides that your diet of berries had left you starving, bones portruding from your skin as your unhealthy diet was unable to provide the nutrition you needed as a teenager.
Messy scars littered your body after countless of nights of close calls with various mobs. Lack of proper care for the wounds made them form into messy scars. Bruises and small cuts coated your skin although you had grown numb from the constant ache it resulted in.
The sun was setting now, forcing you to hurry as you cupped your hands in the small stream and splashed the cool water into your face.
It grew darker quickly in the forest as you looked around, trying to find some place, any place, high up where you could avoid the arrows of skeletons and the reach of zombies and other mobs.
A tall tree caught your eye as you hurried over. You climbed it expertly, many nights trees had been your safe haven to hide out in which had given you the necessary experience.
Finding a strong and sturdy branch to sit on, you watched the night sky. Dark bat like creatures circled in the air as their glowing eyes scanned the surroundings.
It made you press yourself further to the stem of the tree, hoping to stay out of view of the creatures as you sat hidden behind the leaves.
Your eyes met the beady black eyes of what you thought was a raven, or maybe it was a crow, you couldn't tell them apart. It sat on the branch to your side, another similar bird by its side.
It watched you curiously, cocking it's head as a loud screech left it's beak. More of its kind seemed to approach at the noise, joining the first on the branch as they looked curiously at you.
If you weren't stuck in the tree to avoid the mobs that crawled on the ground, you would've ran from the black birds. They were starting to freak you out a little in the way they all silently watched your every move.
The loud twang of an arrow breaching wood could be heard as your eyes widened, temporarily forgetting the birds as you glanced down.
An arrow pierced the wood barely besides the branch you sat on, making you scramble up higher as you climbed to the thinner branches.
With your movement the crows flew off, loudly screeching as they reached the close by tundra, pecking against the window of the cabin loudly.
Phil's eyes narrowed as he watched the creatures gather in large quantities, they screeched towards one another, filling them in on what they had seen in the forest.
Some flew off to check out the sight for themselves, others asked questions loudly to the ones that had seen it for themselves. It was a flock of birds that continued growing and therefore continued growing wilder with the second.
"Quiet" Phil spoke, silencing the horde as he continued, "what is going on?"
Immediately the birds started squeaking over one another once more, forcing him to silence them again before picking out one of the calmer birds of the flock and asked them to explain.
"So there is a child in the forest?" He asked as the bird ruffled it's feathers, fluffing up in defiance as it squeaked, "an injured child."
"An injured winged child!" Another from the flock squawked up, a silencing gaze from Phil quickly shutting them up once more.
He looked at the one crow he that sat perched on his windowsill, "is this true?"
"Yes."
It has been decades since he had seen another person with wings. Often they were chased down and hunted for their wings, using the wings for artificial gliders. He wondered if that was why you were alone out in a forest at night.
"I'll finish this first, then I'll check it out." Phil looked to the brewing stand that stood perched upon his desk, different ingredients strewn around and a book with his findings laid on the side.
"Keep an eye on them in the meantime." He side eyed Chat as he closed his windows against the chilling tundra winds once more, returning to his desk to continue his brewing activities.
Minutes turned into hours as the man got caught up in his work,  brewing up enough potions to restock his chests as the morning rays of sun started to peek through the windows.
You had made it out of the night relatively alright, an arrow had found itself scratching your arm somewhere through the night. Although despite that you had stayed unseen by the phantoms that circled the night sky, which you considered a win.
Climbing down the tree once the ground had been cleared, you bid goodbye to the black birds that had stayed by your side throughout the night.
They however, followed your every step, making you grow more conscious of them as you sped up, hoping to shake them off subtly.
Their wings however proved more than capable to keep up with you, forcing you to break out in a sprint.
You had reached a small clearing, stopping in your tracks as a male stood in the middle of it. Crows similar to the ones that followed you crowded around him, some pulling at his green robe to pull him into a certain direction before getting swatted away by his hands.
His eyes found yours as you stepped back, instinctively retreating from the stranger cautiously.
The black wings that grew from his back put you at ease, knowing he was one of your kind. Despite that however he was still a stranger to you and you had never once met another winged person.
Your family hadn't been winged either, although they had kept you hidden from the world for the most of your childhood knowing the target your wings would make you.
When people had learned of your existence your house wasn't safe anymore and you had ran. On your travels you had heard of a place called L'manburg where hybrids of any kind were accepted amongst the normal people. It had been the reason you travelled in this direction in the first place.
He could easily see the fear in your eyes, as well as the mess of feathers that involuntarily fluffed up behind you. It only made the itching of the misplaced feathers worse, making you unconsciously swat at the limbs with your hand.
"Who are you?" Your voice was raspy, dark circles evident under your eyes as Phil seemed to realize the state you were in.
He offered you a small reassuring smile, cautious of his every movement so he wouldn't send you running. Lord knows you wouldn't be able to fly with the state your wings were currently in.
"I am Phil, it's been a long time since I've seen anyone with wings such as myself." He spoke, calmly spreading what was left of his black wings out behind him to show you what he meant.
Even to your untrained eyes it was obvious something had happened to his wings, although you didn't dare ask. The parts of his wings that had stayed untouched by the damage of the explosion however was well taken care off.
Carefully preened to a smooth and soft blanket of feathers that coated the muscled limbs.
They were everything your wings weren't, and immediately the idea of fixing your wings sparked a hope inside you. You hadn't flown often before but you had missed the feeling of the wind under them over the years.
You had known something was wrong with your wings but your lack of basic knowledge of the limbs hindered any proper care you could've given them.
"Are they yours?" You asked the older male, nodding to the birds that littered the small clearing of trees. His presence was comforting in a unfamiliar way, but it was nice nonetheless. It allowed him to take a careful step towards you as he turned to the small army of crows that had gathered around him.
"You could say that," he side glanced at the animals as their beady eyes watched the interaction carefully, "they showed me to you."
His words made your eyes narrow as you took a step back, "why were you looking for me?" The distrust in your voice was obvious as Phil tried to gain your trust once more.
"I wasn't looking for you specifically," one of the crows that had watched the ordeal from your side carefully hopped in front of you towards Phil, turning around to watch you as if asking you to follow them.
"they spoke of an injured winged child in the forest." Your hand found your upper arm where the skeletons arrow had pierced your skin unconsciously, the sting of the injury still present in the back of your head.
The male pulled a bottled red solution from his cloak, stepping closer to hand it to you as you allowed him.
Phil offered you a small smile, considering it a victory as he uncorked the bottle, swirling the deep red liquid inside for a moment before handing it to you, "it's a potion of health, it will help with your wounds."
"What do you want for it?" You asked questioningly as you held the bottle in your hands, looking at the older male now that he was closer to you.
A comforting smile formed on his features, "nothing mate, I'd hope to take you to the cabin where I and a closer friend of mine live. He's a hybrid as well, and I wish to help you."
Your eyes narrowed as you took a careful sip of the potion. The sweet flavorful taste was unlike anything you had tasted in years. A satisfied sigh left your lips involuntarily as the taste invaded your mouth and brought immediate relief to the ache you had forgotten existed and the pain from your recent arm injury.
It didn't take long for you to finish the potion, some of the color returning to your cheeks as Phil turned away from you, extending his hand in invitation to join him.
When you did he wrapped his sky blue cape around your shoulders, protecting you against the cold tundra as he guided you over the lands, back to his cabin.
The warmth of a fireplace hit your skin as you stepped inside the cabin, the comforting feeling of warmth had grown unfamiliar over the two years you had spent alone but was a welcome change.
Phil guided you to the couch, taking the cape from you before hanging it besides the door. He knew the health potion would be enough to help against the cut on your arm, what he was more concerned about were your wings.
"How long as it been since you preened them, kid?" The nickname rolled of his tongue without him noticing.
The clueless look you gave him should've said enough, yet you still chose to answer as you cocked your head, "what is preening?"
Instantly Phil realized what was the problem. You hadn't been unable to care for your wings, you just didn't know how to.
He sat down beside you, stretching out his right wing which had been relatively spared from the blasts of TnT. He showed the smooth feathers to you as you carefully traced your hand along it. He could barely feel your gentle touch as he explained what preening was.
He could see the light of curiosity in your eyes shine in your eyes as you had officially chosen to put your trust in him.
Moving to his small kitchen, he prepared a cup of hot chocolate milk. It would give you something to focus on if the preening felt uncomfortable, besides that, the warmth and nutrition would be good for you.
You carefully sipped the sweet liquid as Phil sat behind you, his touches feather light on your wings as he gently stretched them out to observe their state more appropriately.
A small shudder shut up your spine at the foreign contact, but it was a nice type of contact, something you could get used to.
His fingers started to rearrange the feathers, pulling the loose ones out and creating space for new ones to pop out. He found some childhood fluffy feathers amongst their larger and smoother counterparts. It made him question how long they had been there as he combed his fingers through the different layers of feathers, wondering if you had ever been properly preened before.
Where your back met your wings he could see the small fluffier childhood feathers that puffed up from underneath the slits in your shirt. They probably would never get replaced by the adult feathers and mark the transition between skin and feathers.
His touch was comforting, combined with the sweet liquid in the mug and the warmth that hung in the cabin, you closed your eyes in bliss as you settled into the soft couch. You sunk in between the mess of pillows, your eyelids softly dropping closed as you sipped the remainder of your drink from the mug.
Phil could see the way your body seemed to slack in the soft material of the couch, his hands continuing their work as he gently pulled the now empty cup from your hands and put it on the small table.
He knew that last night, especially in combination with Chat, must have been exhausting for you. You looked blissfully and comfortable in your sleep.
Phil only took a quick break from preening your feathers to drape a blanket over the rest of your form.
He had promised himself no more. After everything that had happened with Wilbur, Tommy and Techno he had promised himself that Tommy was his last.
But the way you laid so peaceful in your sleep on his couch, he knew he couldn't just send you away after nursing you back to health. It was obvious you had no one to return to and you were still a child. Whether teenager or not, a child is a child.
Maybe one more wouldn't be so bad?

TW: There is a small part in the beginning where the reader almost dies from hypothermia, so be mindful of that, please!
Also, don’t worry, this work will have multiple chapters, so stay tuned!
Sorry if this is kinda bad. This is my first time writing a reader fanfic.

___________________________________________________________________________________________
The bitter cold touched your skin as your breath came out slow and steady. Your fingertips glowed blue and your thin wings weren’t much help to warm you up. The basket you were placed in by your unknown parents barely kept you alive all these hours, the thin blanket wrapped around you.
Phantoms circled you, seeing you as one of their own. You could sense the distraught and worry in their cries and their wails. As they swooped down, they tried to pick up the basket that carried you, but to no avail. Your tiny toddler hands tried to reach out to them, wanting nothing more but to be carried somewhere where you won’t freeze in the storm. You let out small wails and cries, those very much akin to a Phantom, until you heard a caw.
One caw became ten, and suddenly there was a whole murder of them, so many that the amount started to block the storm. Some even tried to attack the phantoms, but they wouldn’t leave you alone. They’d rather die than let the crows have their way with you.
But, there came a large beating of wings. Ones way more than the huge murder swirling around you. As the beating wings died down, you could hear the thumps of footsteps coming towards you, and feel something or someone pick you up. The hands were the warmest thing you’ve ever felt, and your eyes met the mysterious person’s bright welcoming blue. The eyes could convey so much; uneasiness, pity, curiosity.
They wore a large hat, one that was green and white striped. Medium blond hair came out of the sides with a small braid in the front and little knickknacks hanging from the strange hat. Huge black wings stood behind them, making them seem larger than the storm from your view. Even though your vision was impaired from the cold, you could see a small bit of what they was wearing aside from their head; a green opened kimono with a black turtleneck and a strange red heart in the middle.
The person looked up at the phantoms, not noticing that their wails were of worry. They pulled out a bow and a sharp arrow, aiming it at the phantoms. You could tell that the person meant harm, and so you wailed at them to make them stop. The person looked at you, and then the phantoms. They finally noticed the roars of the Phantoms were wails and cries, meaning only woe. The person seemed to call to the crows, and the crows obeyed. Birds swooped down to the ground where you and the person were set, no longer focusing on the Phantoms.
The snowstorm got worse, cold even colder. It became harder and harder to breathe or keep your eyelids open. Eyes barely open, you could see the person holding you have panic in their eyes, looking up ahead and wings wide open. Your tiny hands clutched the cloth on their chest, trying to find even the slightest bit of warmth you could feel as the person held you and carried the basket in hand.
You felt the person run, and then take flight. Wind blew on your head as your eyes closed all the way, hearing the caws of crows seem to follow this mysterious person.
A few minutes later, you hear the storm dying down, becoming only a midnight breeze. The person carrying you descended down to the ground, walking towards something warm. Despite the storm now over, you couldn’t open your eyes, seeming to be iced shut.
A huge wave of warmth filled the air as the person opened the door to what you assumed to be their house. You heard childlike voices, 3 to be exact. You weren’t able to understand them, but you were happy to know that you weren’t the only person anymore.
“Who’s that?” A small voice said; you could feel their beady eyes staring at you. ”It’s a baby. I found them freezing in the cold. I’m happy I saved them; any longer and they might’ve been left to die. Poor thing.” The deeper voice came from above you, seeming to come from the person who saved you. The person then sat on something soft and held you in their lap.
“Are you seriously considering adopting another sibling? We already have to deal with Tommy-” “HEY!” Two voices argued, one being slightly deeper and older but still young, and the other being loud and boisterous, being the same small voice you first heard.
“Both of you shut up. Who cares if we have another sibling, this ones adorable.” A separate voice spoke up, setting a warm hand on your tiny toddler one. You lightly grabbed the person’s bigger hands, warming your seemingly frozen hand even more.
“So… do we have a new sibling now?” “Seems like it.” The two older voices continued, “Well, I just hope they don’t turn out like Tommy- “GOD DAMMIT TECHNO-“ Loud arguing could be heard while you continued to hold the mysterious boy’s hand. Opposite to the loudness, the mysterious man from before spoke, “Would you like to hold them Wil?”
You assumed he nodded his head as the striped hat man handed you to ‘Wil’. The boy held you in his arms while the striped hat man softly caressed your head lovingly. You climbed onto the Wil’s sweater, burying your face into the soft material.
“Boys, could you stop arguing before you upset the baby.” “But Techno is being a bitch!” “Tommy! Where did you hear that word?” “Nowhere!” “Shut up Tommy. Before you cause Phil to finally get those hearing aids.”
The three continue bickering while you and Wil just vibe with Wil patting your head and you snuggling into his warmth. After a few minutes of arguing, they finally calm down and crowd around you.
“Alright. I’m going to go and fix up some proper clothes for them. In the meantime, try not to make the child cry, okay?” The striped hat man said, walking out of the room.
You could feel their eyes on you, with Wil still patting your head while a hand held yours. You slowly opened your eyes for the first time in the house and finally saw your new family.
The boy named Wil had curly brown hair with bangs to right of his face, pointed ears, and brown eyes; big round glasses adorned his face and a red beanie upon his head, with a big yellow sweater. The person holding your hand looked almost exactly like him. His hair was the same as Wil’s, though it was to the right, with square glasses and the same pointed ears, with his sweater being pink. A small tusk grew out of each of their mouths, being on opposite sides.,
Wilbur swooned to you, “Hi there. I’m Wilbur.”, smiling at you with a big smile. “This here is my twin, Technoblade, but just call him Techno or Tech.” He looked over to said twin, with Techno staring at you and then patting your head.
The smaller one, who had blonde hair and blue eyes wearing a white shirt with the sleeves being red, looked just as boisterous and loud as he acted. He looked at you curiously as you turned your head to look at him, and to your surprise started poking you in the cheek rather annoyingly with you groaning out of annoyance and snuggling up to Wilbur.
“Tommy, stop poking them you’re gonna make them hate you.” “Shut it Wil, you know I will be the favorite brother. Better than you or Techno or even Tubbo.”
Speaking of the devil, the one you assumed was ‘Tubbo’, due to his name only now being said and the rest having said their names, walked down the creaky stairs; a blanket over his shoulders. The boy had messy brown hair and goat pupils in his blue eyes.
Tubbo walked towards the couch, rubbing his eyes in tiredness. “Phil told me that we apparently have a new sibling.” He walked towards you and sat in front of Wilbur, staring into your (e/c) eyes. “What’s their name? Have you guys even figured out a name?” “I think we should wait until Phil gets back. We don’t want Tommy to try and name them ‘Big Man’.” Saying this, Techno squeezes your hand. “But anyway, I had this super weird dream-“
As Tubbo started ranting about various dreams he’s had over the week, Wilbur nudges Techno and hands you to him. Reluctantly, Techno holds you, with you snuggling into his sweater, which was made of the same material as Wilbur’s.
A few minutes pass and Tubbo is still talking about his dreams when Phil comes in. “Alright. I’ve set up a room for the little one. Considering they seem to be half Phantom, there aren’t any windows since I don’t know if they are affected by the sun or not.”
“Great. Speaking of, what are we going to name them?” “I say we name them Big Man!” “That’s a horrible idea Tommy!” Wilbur and Tommy continue to argue while Phil, Techno, and Tubbo all crowd around you on the couch. “So… what should we name them?” Tubbo started. “Well, what about something nice? Something… simple but fitting.” Tubbo and Phil listed off possible names, seeing if anything would stick.
“What about… y/n?” The rest of the family looked at Techno, the person who suggested the name. “Y/n?” Wilbur stated, thinking over the name. “Y/n. A lovely name.” Phil smiled, looking at you.
“Welcome to the family, Y/n.”

Wings
So c!Wilbur never takes off his shirt. He hates anyone seeing his back. Not even Sally has seen his back.
Everyone respects this through once the war happened, it became a bit of a problem. Since Wilbur would want to take care of call back wounds himself. Everyone was hoping that Wilbur would never get a bad back injury. Luckily the war passed and Wilbur did not get any bad back injuries.
Once in Pogtopia and Techno was there, things were a bit easier since Wilbur would allow Techno to see his back (granted it was in a room with just them in it but it is much better then before). Techno seems to know why Wilbur does not like people seeing his back.
Cut to Wilbur being back from limbo.
Quackity and Wilbur are having another argument with Tubbo and Ranboo trying to tune them out but failing.
Quackity ends up calling Wilbur a human.
Ranboo is like "Wait what? Wilbur is not human"
Tubbo is like "He has never said he was a hybrid. And he does not look like a hybrid"
Wilbur goes over to Ranboo and is like "Ranboo we need to have a talk" and leads him away from Tubbo and Quackity
Tubbo and Quackity looked confused. They wondered why Ranboo would think Wilbur was a hybrid and why Wilbur acted like that.
Wilbur has no hybrid features nor has said that he is a hybrid.
Foolish comes around and asks why the two look confused and they explain what happened.
Foolish is like "Isn't his father an avian hybrid. Phil. That guy with big black wings"
Tubbo and Quackity smack themselves in the head. Through to be fair, they went so long thinking he was human and when they finally saw his father is was a very chaotic day and people really weren't thinking about what species Wilbur was.
Tubbo: That would explain a lot. He can make good bird noises, likes shiny stuff, and why he hates armor. Hollow bones. I remember Techno saying that Wilbur's armor had to be made differently.
Quackity: Where are his wings? Avian hybrids always have wings. Not all are fully developed but they have wings.
Tubbo's eyes goes wide: Big Q. Wilbur hates anyone seeing his back.
That is when the pieces fall into place. Wilbur hates anyone seeing his back since he does not want anyone to see his wings. Or I should say what is left on them. Since something must have happened to them since even small wings would be have been seen.
Wilbur and Ranboo come back and no one really says anything.
Wilbur sighs and is like "You guys figured it out didn't you. I am not blind to those looks in your eyes"
Tubbo and Quackity nod.
Wilbur is like "I do not want to talk about it but yes. I am an avian hybrid. Ranboo don't blame yourself. You did not know that I did not want others to know"
Tubbo: So you just lie about being human
Wilbur is like "I never confirm nor deny being human. I am silent.
Don't know how but some time later, Wilbur opens up about what happened to his wings.
Just after he got his flight feathers and was learning how to fly, he and some other hybrid kids were taken by hybrid hunters. They wanted his wings. He was able to escape with the other kids but his wings were gone.
Wilbur hates looking at what is left. So he always wears a shirt and just says he is human. People don't ask questions. He tries to hide his avian instincts but they do come out from time to time. Luckily he can past them off as habits he has.

Deep Trouble-Wilbur Soot
#83 from this prompt list! Check out my masterlist here!
This is a Wilbur x gn!reader! I hope you enjoy!
TW: I don’t know how to tag this but basically Wilbur doesn’t know you can’t swim and he puts you underwater and then has to pull you out.
Y/N’s never been good with deep water seeing as they can’t swim. But when her friends want to go to the beach, they can’t deny them their request. Trouble ensues as Y/N doesn’t tell their boyfriend of their inability to swim.
Y/N’s POV
I glared in distaste at the swimsuit that sat on the bed that Wilbur and I shared. Today we were going to the beach. Tommy had convinced his father to drive him four hours to come meet up with Wilbur, Philza, Tubbo, and me. Tommy would be here for a few days and he wanted to do a bunch of things that he wouldn’t be able to do in his own city. Going to the beach was one of them.
Normally, I would have no problem submitting to Tommy’s wishes, it was easier than fighting him about it. But there was one small problem that no one knew about. I can’t swim. When I was little my father took me to a pool and left me on my own for a while. I then went under and almost drowned. I was pulled out but that memory lives in my head rent free. So ever since then, I refused to go near bodies of water and therefore I never learned how to swim.
Of course I wasn’t going to tell anyone that, let alone Tommy. Do you know how badly I would get made fun of for being my age and not knowing how to swim? Really badly. So I decided to keep my mouth shut and stupidly agree to go to the beach with my friends and boyfriend.
“Hey darling. It’s almost time to go, are you ready?” I heard Wilbur wonder softly from the other side of our bedroom door. “Oh! Yeah, I’ll be right there!” I called back matching his tone. “Alright, I’ll see you in a few then.” He responded. I listened closely as his footsteps faded away as he walked down the hall. I let out a huff of air and picked up the swim suit.
I quickly stripped out of my clothes and slipped on the suit, the cold fabric causing chills to run down my spine. I proceeded to slip on some clothes over the suit so I wasn’t just walking around in that. I also quickly packed a bag with an extra set of clothes just in case I wanted to change later. Lastly, I grabbed my towel, sunglasses, and shoes before exiting the bedroom. I slowly made my way down the hall to the living room and found Wilbur there lounging on the couch.
Wilbur glanced over his shoulder at the sound of my footsteps with a smile. “You ready now baby?” He asked, standing up. I matched Wilbur’s smile and nodded at his question. “Yeah, I’m ready.” Wilbur took a few steps and pressed a small kiss to my lips causing me to grin. “You simp” I teased, walking toward the front door, slipping my flip flops on. Wilbur let out a loud laugh as he followed behind me. “Only for you”
*Small time skip*
I let out a sigh as I got out of the passenger side of Wilbur’s car. The sound of the waves crashing and birds cawing greeted me as the two of us met at the front of the car. Wilbur gave me an excited grin as he offered his hand to me. “I’m so excited for this.” I fake a grin, taking his hand and intertwining our fingers, “Me too!” I lied.
“Wilbur! Y/N!” I heard Tubbo’s voice call. The two of us turned and found Tubbo standing down the beach next to Tommy and Phil, waving frantically at us. We both chuckled and waved back with our free hand and began to walk toward them. “Hey guys!” I greeted cheerfully, letting go of Wilbur’s hand and pulling Tubbo into a hug. “Hey!” They all greeted me back matching my enthusiasm. We all quickly exchanged hugs before making our way down the beach a little further.
The five of us quickly set up our little spot. Each of us laid out a towel and stripped off our outer clothes. Tubbo and Tommy immediately began running toward the water, “Boys!” I called, stopping them in their tracks, “Forgetting something?” I questioned, shaking a bottle of sunscreen. The two slowly walked back to me and stood in front of me holding out their arms. I let out a laugh but began spraying the boys down with the sunscreen. Once I was done, I shooed the boys away and they ran back to the water.
After I sprayed myself down, I felt arms wrap around my waist from behind. “I didn’t know you were a parent” Wilbur murmured in my ear, pressing a kiss to the side of my head. I giggled and turned around to face him, placing my hands on his now bare chest. “Well someone has to take care of them. And if it’s me so be it.” I hummed, grinning at his smiling face. Wilbur chuckled before he leaned down and pressed our lips together in a quick kiss. “Come on now. Let’s get in the water.” He said, attempting to pull me to the water. His attempts didn’t work though because I remained where I was. “You go ahead. I’ll catch up in a bit.” I lied, knowing I probably would never get in the water. “You sure?” Wilbur questioned, his steps hesitating. I gave my boyfriend a reassuring smile and nod. “Yeah, go!” I insisted, pushing him to the water. Wilbur gave me one last smile before turning and jogging toward our three friends.
I quickly laid down on the towel that I previously laid out and closed my eyes. I let out a deep breath as I relaxed at the feeling of the warm sun on my body. My hope was that I could get by just laying here sunbathing until they got done with the water. I should have known better.
After a while of me just chilling on the blanket, I was startled by arms scooping me up from my towel. My eyes shot open and found my boyfriend with a stupid grin on his face. “Wilbur, what are you doing?” I questioned, slightly panicked as he began to walk back toward the water. “I have decided you’ve been sunbathing enough and you will now be joining us in the water.” He announced. My heart pounded as his feet hit the edge of the water and he kept wading in, me still trapped in his arms. “Wilbur please. I don’t want to go in. Set me down now.” I begged. Wilbur didn’t listen and kept going deeper in the water. “You ready?” He questioned once the water was just barely touching me. “No! Wilbur please!” I pleaded softly with the giant. He didn’t seem to hear me over the roar of the wave. “Go!” He yelped getting ready to launch me. “Wilbur I can’t swim!” I finally shouted hoping it would stop my boyfriend.
It was too late though, Wilbur had let me go and I was flying through the air. I let out a scream as I flew into deeper water. Right before I went under, I caught sight of my boyfriend. His eyes were wide and he was as pale as a ghost. My body slammed into the water and I was submerged. I was in too deep of water to just stand up. Wilbur had taken me out to where the water met the middle of his chest and then threw me even further. The man is 6’5 so it’s no surprise I couldn’t reach the bottom. I flailed as hard as I could. Trying desperately to reach the surface again. But I just felt like I was sinking more. A pit formed in my stomach as the memory of my dad leaving me in the pool flooded my mind. My lung ached as my body began to run out of oxygen. I couldn’t believe this was how I was going to die.
As my vision began to darken, something grabbed my arm. With one big motion, I was pulled out of the water. I coughed as I scrambled to wrap myself around whatever had just pulled me out of my watery panic. I took deep breaths trying to restore my oxygen intake but also to calm myself down. A gentle hand found its way on my back, rubbing up and down. As I calmed down, I was able to hear Wilbur whispering sweet nothings in my ear trying to reassure me and calm me down even more.
Wilbur quickly brought the two of us back to the sand. He attempted to set me down, but I wouldn’t let him. My arms remained wrapped around his neck and legs around his waist tightly. So instead, Wilbur simply sat down on his towel. “You guys can go back to playing” I heard him tell the others.
A few minutes passed as we sat there in silence before I let out a shaky breath and slightly pulled away from the embrace. “Y/N. I am so so so sorry. I had no idea you couldn’t swim. I know that’s no excuse because I should have listened to you when you said to stop. I feel so horrible. I’m so sorry.” Wilbur apologized, his eyes glossy from unshed tears. “Thank you,” I croaked out, “for apologizing. I know you didn’t know and I’m sorry for not telling you sooner. But you’re right. You should have stopped when I said so. But I forgive you, just don’t let it happen again. Or you’ll be in deep trouble” I teased, a weak smile adorning my face.
Wilbur let out a small laugh, a single tear rolling down his cheek, “Believe me. It never will.” I let out a small laugh as well before leaning back in close and hugging him tightly. “I love you” I murmured into his neck. Wilbur’s hand came up to the back of my head and tugged me tighter to him. “I love you too.”
“Are you guys done being gross? I would like to check on Y/N as well.” I heard Tommy pester from behind me. The two of us laughed as we broke apart. I slowly stood from Wilbur’s lap and turned around and found the other three standing there, looks of concern planted on their face. “I’m okay guys.” I confirmed walking forward, “Really.” Tubbo was the first to move. He ran forward and wrapped his arms around me, burying his face in the crook of my neck. I quickly hugged the boy back. It didn’t take long for Tommy and Phil to also join our hug. “I’m alright. I just think I’ll stay away from water I can’t stand up in for a long time.” I joked. A chuckle ruffled through the group.
The hug broke up after a few more minutes of just standing there. The five of us decided that we’d had enough excitement for one day and chose to leave and go grab something to eat somewhere. As we packed up, Tommy turned to me with a confused look, “Hey Y/N… Why would you agree to come to the beach if you hate deep water and can’t swim.” I shrugged as I laid my towel over my arm, “You and Tubbo really wanted to and I would do anything for my boys.”
“Awwww!” The four boys let out, giving me a fond look. I rolled my eyes and pushed the shoulder of the person closest to me, which just so happened to be Tommy. “Shut up.” I muttered, walking away from the group toward the car. “Y/N! Wait! Come back!” Tubbo called. “No! I’m hungry, let’s go!” I called in return causing a rush of footsteps to pound toward me. I let out a squeak as arms wrapped around me and lifted me off the ground, swinging me around. I giggled as my feet returned to the ground once more. I turned around and of course found Wilbur standing there with a goofy smile on his face. Wilbur’s head ducked down and he pressed a sweet kiss to my lips. I sighed in contentment at the feeling and leaned further into the kiss.
“You know, when you said you were hungry, I thought you meant for food.” Phil teased beside us. Wilbur and I broke apart, a blush adorning the both of our faces. “Phil! There are children around!” I exclaimed, pushing his shoulder slightly. Phil let out a loud laugh before responding, “I think you need to remember that as well.” I looked over and found Tubbo and Tommy with a fake grossed out look on their faces. I rolled my eyes and giggled at their nonsense…. “Last one to the car is a rotten egg!” I yelled out before booking it to the car. “Hey! Not fair!” I heard Tommy shout from behind me. Today may not have gone the smoothest. But I’m glad I got to spend it with the people I care about most.
There you go! I hope you enjoyed! If so, be sure to leave a like.
And remember kids: If someone says no, they mean no. Don’t try to convince them to do it anyway. No means No. Do not be responsible for someone’s death because you pushed them in deep water and they couldn’t swim.

@ethereal-deadly-clover @melancholycatastrophe
:) (def would consider checking out this post before for a little more context!!)
Here’s the thing: Dream loves his server. He enjoys playing with it, growing flowers and managing to coax dogs and cats out from the undergrowth of trees. He looks at the stars above him, big and bright and beautiful. When he decided to settle, Dream puts away his shoes.
He walks barefoot through the grass, feels the wind, and feels the earth beneath him. The word he has inhabited, the world that holds him close and murmurs words of love is huge. It’s awaiting his exploration, and hums a song that he doesn’t quite understand.
His feet are bruised by the time he finishes his walk. Bad scolds him for it, but he sees the faraway look in Dream’s eye, and remembers the first time he’d gotten his own server. “Be more careful,” he says quietly while wrapping them. “Shoes are important, and you’re not going to help yourself without them.”
Dream shrugs. He wriggles his toes, and smiles.
“I like going barefoot.” He says. “It makes me feel closer to the World.”
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Pandora’s Vault burns his feet almost instantly. Dream spends the first week hopping from foot to foot, settling them into his respawn hole, and wondering why it never hurt this much before.
Sam looks at him with no expression, and only raises an eyebrow at his hopping. There were shoes in Dream’s changing bag, but he’s hasn’t worn shoes in forever. The only time was when he’d enter the Nether, but he’d take them right off afterwards.
“They’re uncomfortable.” Dream tells Sam. “I’m wearing them.”
A sigh.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
He’s in the trees, feet dangling. Sam’s underneath him, shoes in one hand and a half-smile flitting across his face. “It’s almost winter,” he says. “You’ll get cold. You’ve got to wear shoes.”
Dream shrugs. “I’ll wear socks.” He counters.
“They’ll get wet,” Sam says back. Dream crosses his arms. No one likes wet socks, but Dream doesn’t want to wear shoes anymore. He hasn’t been for a while.
“What if I only walk on the Path? Or I only leave when it’s warm enough or I just go outside the community house.”
Sam raises an eyebrow. “You’re not going to do that.” He says bluntly. “You can barely sit there for this world, you’re always exploring. Now you’re going to dust inside for a whole season?”
Dream sighs. He climbs down the tree, and Sam smiles at him. He gives Dream the shoes, and then tightens his own laces when Dream’s tying his. “I’ll be back before this season’s over.” Sam tells him, brushes aside Dream’s hair.
Dream feels uncomfortable. Sam says his goodbyes, and once he’s out, Dream takes off the shoes.
(The others look away. They’ve gotten used to not trying; Sam’s the only one who still does. Callahan even took his shoes off for a week or two, trying to connect to the world like Dream.)
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
The thing about Techno joining him is that he’s calm and collected. He’s bored, but he hasn’t been through the things that Dream has been.
“So,” Techno says, looking at the shoes Dream has on. “Why are you wearing Velcro shoes? Can’t tie your laces?”
Dream shrugs. “The Warden put them on me.” He said. “He usually does before Quackity comes.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know. I think it’s like a punishment inside another punishment. He knows I don’t like shoes.”
“You can take them off right?”
“With permission.”
Techno shrugs. “Well… I’m giving you permission.”
Dream shrugs. “The Warden’s supposed to.”.
Techno hums. He drops his cape around Dream’s shoulders, and leans against a wall. “Well,” he says. “I’m going to sleep.”
(And if Dream leans next to him, far away enough to not touch him but close enough to grab Techno just in case, that’s enough. And if Dream wakes up tomorrow with no shoes, Techno looking like he hasn’t moved, there’s no one’s business except his own.)
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Dream writes and writes. His hand shakes, cramps, but he taps bare feet against chests and dips them into the respawn pool. Techno takes the books, and flips through them, and sometimes he’ll make Dream laugh. He also just watched Dream and the difference between shoeless and having them.
It’s done, Dream thinks. He signs his name off, writes it in a flourish. It’s like signing his death warrant. Dream finished the last sentence, and hands off the book to Techno. He doesn’t read this one, but he does give a hard look in the camera’s direction.
“Listen, Dream,” he says softly. “I’m going to go away for a while. I promise, I promise, I’ll come back. But you’ve got to stay strong okay?”
Dream stares at him. “You’re leaving?” He says.
Techno takes the cape from the floor and drapes it over Dream’s shoulders. “I am. I’ll come back for you. Team Chaos, remember?”
“Team Chaos,” Dream echoes.
And then he’s alone.
(Quackity hates that Techno got away. Sam hates that Techno got away, and burned the shoes. Dream cowers in the corner, begging forgiveness even though he did nothing.)
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Drowsy, Dream opens his eyes to see the Warden putting Velcro shoes on him. Dream hates them. It means that Quackity’s going to do something and Dream doesn’t know what. Sam doesn’t look at him, but he does make sure the straps are tight on him before leaving.
Quackity comes in minutes later. Dream curls in a corner, trying to get away, trying to get them off, ect are they on him what is he planning sometime sometime sometime—
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
He’s lead outside, with a bunch of people on the entrance. He tries to reconnect with the earth again, tries to feel the world underneath his feet, but there’s—it’s nothing.
He can’t feel anything except the socks and the shoes that feel dead, dead, dead. He would have fallen, trying to grab something in his hands—grass, dirt, the shoes—if the Warden’s hand didn’t tighten on his arm.
The warning is clear: stop.
“See?” Quackity says. “He’s fine. Sam hasn’t done anything to him.”
Dream looks up at the sky, and tilts his head. It’s dark, almost like it’s about to rain. Dream hasn’t seen rain in a long time. He wonders what season it is, before his attention is snapped toward Antfrost, who looks him up and down.
“Why is he wearing shoes?” Antfrost asks. “Dream never does.”
“Pandora’s Vault is hot,” the Warden says. “His feet will burn otherwise.”
They ask the Warden a bunch of questions. They don’t ask Dream, but Ant kept giving him weird looks when he reached for the grass beneath his feet. He just wants to connect again.
Dream feels wind against his face, and he looks to where it’s coming from. There’s a shadow, flying low with the wind. Dream almost looks up, but doesn’t. It’s probably a bird.
The Warden’s hand tightens again, and Dream could feel tears building. Dream looks up and then suddenly everyone is staring at him.
“Dream,” Puffy says. There’s something in her expression that he can’t quite place. “Are you okay?”
Dream turns away and tries to grab some grass again.
“Prisoner,” the Warden says. “Answer the question.”
Dream catches Quackity’s eye, and watches how his expression changes from one of pleased to angry. The Warden’s hand is getting tighter, almost digging into him. Dream nods once, and the Warden lets go.
“Well, that’s a lie.” Technoblade says from above, and then all hell breaks lose.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Dream loves the night sky and the stars that come with it. When Dream first settled, they could see millions of stars above them and Dream made his own constellations. The stars glowed bright.
(Later on, it became too light to see some of them. But Dream remembered where they used to be. He’d sit on the roof of the Community House for hours, tracing where they were.)
But in the Arctic, they are unfamiliar. “Make new ones,” Techno told him. But Dream misses the old stars, he misses his fri—
He misses when there was no wars.
When it was just Dream in the world, he managed to bring a star down from above. He held it in his hands, hot and cold at the same time; and he watched it. It fizzled and spit and didn’t burn out for a long time.
Dream thinks he was a star, intimidating and untouchable. But he’s also at the end, his fizzle had sparked out. He’s not who he used to be.
He doesn’t know who he is.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
He tries to be barefoot in the snow, tries to feel the earth underneath his feet. There’s nothing except the stinging bite of cold and the dogs’ breathing.
Techno finds him, shoeless, sitting on his porch edge. He’s holding onto two pairs shoes, one Velcro and the other with laces. “It’s pretty cold,” he says.
Dream doesn’t reply. Techno sits down next to him, “Listen,” he says. “You lose the most heat out of feet and your head. I’m okay with you being shoeless in the houses, or the porch. But once you step off, you’ve got to wear shoes. Choose one.”
Dream looks at them. “Laces,” he says. “I can wear laces.”
“Sure, nerd,” he says. Techno leaves the shoes on the porch, and then gets up to go inside. “Phil’s making hot chocolate,” he says. “If you want.”
Dream nods. He lays down on the porch, and looks at the stars above him. A million, waiting for constellations.
So, Dream begins drawing.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Dream used to coax flowers into blooming early before the Wars began. Iris and Ivy, lilacs, and Lilies, asters and carnations. Roses and willows, and everything underneath the sun.
In the Arctic, they don’t grow. They shrivel because the Arctic is cold, and flowers are used to warm weathers. And Dream almost cries, when he manages to have a flower grow.
It’s a daffodil.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
The Syndicate come back from a mission, gunpowder staining hands and wither residue left on Techno’s cape. They’ve also got Redstone dust on them, but Dream doesn’t ask.
Dream watched them walk up, and Techno glanced down at his bare feet. “We can go on a training mission,” Techno tells him. “Somewhere warmer.”
There’s a break, and Dream looks down at his feet, and the flower that he’s grown. Niki and Phil are already inside, discussing what they should bake for dessert tonight and Boo’s already gone and writing something in his Book.
Dream looks up at Techno, and smiles. “Sure,” he says quietly. “I’d like that.”
(There’s something almost beautiful when he reconnects to the server. When his feet dig into soft soil, and he can feel everything.
Dream lays down, and watches the sky. Techno lays next to him. They’ve got weeks to spend here.)

Same anon with the Little Nightmares au. (Should I go by a name? idk). In my head Phil was some type of bird creature that could fly, Techno a boar-like one that could break through things easily, and Wilbur would either look perfectly normal, like Thin Man from Little Nightmares 2, or some fish/siren thing. Bench trio would have their own advantages and weaknesses, like Ranboo more susceptible to drowning in water than the others. Anything else with this au you can fun with.
:)
yes I love this!
Techno being able to break through walls fits his character very well but he probably has a small weakness too loud noises, Ranboo runs into techno the most so he carries around a bell to start ringing just in case he gets cornered
Philza being a bird means he very easily gets distracted by shiny things so Tubbo carries shiny pebbles with him that he can throw out of his bag if he's being chased
And I like the idea of Wilbur being a siren like creature that looks around in the water of the house, he is extremely fast in water but becomes very slow on land so Tommy will usually set up traps that can trip Wilbur up well on land
And I love the idae of Ranboo being extra week to water! Ranboo is also probably the fastest runner and goes out to get food the most
Tommy's weakness is that he gets too curious sometimes and usually will wander into areas that are pretty dangerous but because of his wandering in a dangerous areas always comes back with really good supplies for the group!
Tubbo is kind of slow as he has an injured leg but is the main reason none of the monsters have figured out where they live because he studied them and figure it out that Philza and Techno's sense of smell gets thrown off by Herb's so he has a small garden he takes care of

Piglin hybrid Techno and Tiny avian hybrid Phil
Content warning: Calling a person as "It" and language
——————
A gunfire shot echoed.
"There it is!" A shout echoed, a man pointing towards high trees. A dark green shadow— No, not leaves— floating limpingly amongst the brown of the branches and trunks.
"Is there a net?!" another shout. Another man. Panting as they chase the tiny flying figure.
"The last net has been fired two shots ago!" the first one called out
"Fuck— It's a hybrid tiny, too" A huff, a big one. Two people in arms finally stopping, holding their knees in exhaustion. "Damn it, that'll sell so well"
They stopped.
But not the tiny, though.
The occasional sharp small branch sticking out, the leaves that's positioned unfortunately fit for a papercut, and the eventual large branch finally hitting the golden haired avian hybrid tiny in his head. The injuries came together, the no-longer-shiny black wings finally gave up, and the flying figure of a tiny avian hybrid fell down. Now stopping after the hunters has stopped.
ooo
Being a piglin hybrid has its perks, Techno thinks. The piglin on the nether wouldn't go exactly after you unprovoked, you can still live in the cold (not advised, by the way, it sucks in the cold), and you can adapt to the overworld just fine— well, excluding the townspeople avoiding you, at least.
Of course, the good also comes with the bad. The piglin back at home absolutely despises you(because you look 'too human' or whatever), the nether temperature eventually became absolutely unbearable, and..
"Oooh, gold" The lingering feeling of attraction to gold. Except this time, it's not gold.
But a golden-haired tiny.
Listen, Techno's not heartless, there's no way he'll abandon another living being in help, no matter how awkward it may be— imagine waking up to a giant piglin hybrid, if that isn't awkward Techno doesn't know what it is (No, it's absolutely not fear, what do you mean) — So Techno took the tiny in.
After leaving the nether dimension, Techno tried living in a tundra biome. But it didn't work for him— he's not used to the cold— So he tried to live in the forest. It's a decent place, he figured out he can grow crops for a living— trading is also a steady source of income in the overworld. But getting back on the topic— Techno lives in a cabin in the woods, and is currently carrying a tiny home. It's a questionable situation, but hey, it's the thought that counts right? (or however the overworld saying goes)
Techno inspected the unconscious tiny— He's still breathing, fortunately. Techno doesn't know how to feel if he picked up a tiny corpse— Several cuts are visible on the tiny's skin. It doesn't look that bad— excluding the large cut on his side and the practically broken right wing— M-hm, not that bad.
Step one, Washing your hands before cleaning the injury. It's a fairly-large wound for someone so small, and fortunately, the wound has stopped bleeding, so Techno shouldn't worry about that.
Next step, applying antibiotic. Techno's certain he has a bottle of antibiotics— yeah, he has one— an almost brand-new bottle of antibiotics, he's glad he bought one yesterday.
As soon as the antibiotic made contact with the tiny's wounds, though, the tiny shot up with a hiss of "Fuck—!"
。。。
Phil woke up when Techno was washing his hands.
He had heard a stream of water and several footsteps— he thought he fell unconscious near a river. It doesn't matter, he can get up later, he's too hurt for getting up.
Until the stinging pain emerged from his side.
"Fuck-!" Phil cried out, moving away from the supposed source of pain
That fumkign hurts. Phil doesn't know what happened, it may be a bee— but bees doesn't attack unprovoked, then, what?
With each second passing Phil's head pounded even more, forcing him to focus and unfocus on his surroundings. A Wooden floor— Polished wooden floor, not the usual tree bark footing he occasionally sees— Unfamiliar surroundings— No trees or the usual greens he sees everyday, no, it's a human furniture surroundings.
As if his mind is saving the worst for last, Phil's vision finally focuses on the giant figure in front of him. The figure of a giant piglin hybrid.
Instantly, Philza's mind clicked. Human— no— hybrid furniture surroundings, him being unconscious, the stinging pain on his sides— Fuck— The piglin was going to eat him.
"Fuck no—" Phil breathed out, scooting backwards. Unfortunately, it's futile, as he quickly reached the edge of the wooden table. Phil looked at the drop, and fumk, it's a fucking high drop— his- his wings are broken
"Uh—" The piglin hybrid called out. Phil's head turned to look at him— head still pounding too hard to focus on the piglin hybrid's expression. "You're... you're hurt." The piglin hybrid gave Phil a sad excuse of an explanation. No shit, sherlock.
"S-so?" Phil glared, trying so hard to not fall off the table— or should he? Is one wing enough to shield his fall..?
"I'm... I'm trying to treat your wounds..?" the piglin hybrid said. Another look from Phil and he saw a white bottle of whatever— it's suspicious "Look, I found you unconscious on the forest floor, I'm just trying to heal you"
Phil is not listening to the guy, still scanning the things on the giant piglin hybrid's hands. A white suspicious bottle, a clump of cotton possibly doused in the suspicious bottle's content, and a wide, white, suspicious rope(..?) On the other end of the table.
"I'm not going to hurt you." the sudden voice from the piglin hybrid startles Phil. Maybe it's because of the reassuring tone of the man, suddenly, Phil's mind starts to focus more "You're going to be okay, I promise"
With that, the giant lowered the things in his hands. First, the suspicious white bottle. "Antibiotics" it reads.
"It's for cleaning your wound— it stings, that's why you woke up— but it's not a bad thing" The piglin hybrid explained, noticing Phil's confused expression (Antibiotics sounds fuckinh suspicious) "And to apply the antibiotics, I used the cotton" He lowered the cotton near the 'Antibiotics' bottle— but not too close to Phil. "see, I'm not trying to hurt you"
"...and that rope?" Phil questions. He's convinced about the antibiotics, but not the weirdly-shaped rope
"...rope?" The piglin hybrid blinked, confused.
"That!" Phil pointed at the weirdly-shaped rope "That weirdly-shaped rope!"
"You've... never seen a bandage before..?"
"...what?"
"That's- that's a bandage— it's for keeping the wound clean and preventing it from opening up again" He explained, a hint of amusement behind his confusion. Okay. "Are you satisfied now?"
Maybe it's because of embarassment, maybe it's because of finally feeling convinced, but Phil nodded to the human's word.
The consequence of agreeing fucking hurts— Fuck, it hurts.
The antibiotics really does fucking sting.
"Fuck!" another shout, and Techno— Phil had learned his name in the middle of the stinging pain (Saying Piglin hybrid man is too long and well, rude)— Techno finally finished applying the antibiotic.
"Done." Techno said, tone light like he never stung Phil. "You can rest there, I think I still have spare cloths for you to sleep on"
"Wait, sleep?" Phil spoke up, bewildered. Sure, he's exhausted after all of the things happening today, but that doesn't mean he want to sleep in a human— wait, no, Hybrid— but still, a Giant's house. That's a death flag right there.
"Ya" Techno said, Another light answer. "your body need to rest to have the energy to heal. Also, the bandage will need to be changed"
"Sleep here?"
"Ya" Techno's response is light. So light, no care for Phil's bewildered tone as he stuffed the tools he used to treat Phil back to wherever it belongs.
"And you're not going to hurt me?" Phil asked. No way. He's a fucking giant.
"That just sounds abyssmal— I've just healed you" Techno said, his tone still light as he rummages around his furnitures, looking for something.
"So then.. what are you going to do?" Phil asked, staring at Techno as he stacked several cloths together (what the fuck is he doing..?)
"Sleep, probably— I was actually going to trade new seeds since new season is coming up, but then you happened sooo" Techno trailed off, concentrating. "Done. Here— you can sleep here" Techno's figure moved away to reveal what Phil assumed was a bed— It's actually just several cloths stacked together— but it's nice.
"You made a bed for me?" Phil asked, looking at the bed Techno just made
"Yeah— do you need help getting here?" Techno gestures towards Phil's stature— small and has a broken wing
Phil looked at where Techno is gesturing. "..yeah"
"Should— Should I just.. pick you up at the back of your clothes or...?" Techno asked. He was expecting Phil to elaborate on how to pick a tiny up without being rude— but Phil's lack of elaboration speaks volume.
It ended up with Phil asking for Techno to give him his hand for platforming— Which after Techno quickly replied with a "sure", Phil became very anxious about standing on a giant's hand— Fortunately, Techno didn't try to hurt him or anything (Maybe it's Phil who scratched him— Bird claws as feet and all) and Phil reached the bed.
It's a fairly-nice bed, In Phil's opinion. Because it is practically just a ton of cloths stacked together, it became a very comfy bed. So when Phil rested his body on it, his exhaustion and thought caught up to him.
It's a first time for Phil. Being inside a giant's house, and.. being this near a giant. He's restless— he can't fucking sleep— he shouldn't sleep. The possibility of the giant hurting him, the possibility of another giant barging into this house and catching Phil... He's scared.
"Shhh, just sleep, you're safe" a sudden voice from Techno startled him. Was Techno there the whole time? More than that, did Techno realized Phil's worry? "I'm not going to hurt you— Like I said. You're going to be okay," Techno said, taking a seat beside the cabinet Phil's bed is placed.
What is it? Maybe it's because Techno sounds so.. reassuring, but Phil's heart solidified at Techno's word.
"No one is going to hurt you again" was the last thing Phil heard from Techno before Phil falling asleep.
Maybe it's trust that made Phil believe in Techno.

Giant house au! Technos had a sick day with Phil shinking down to help take care of him. They all probably thought Techno always carrying his sword even around the house was Techno being dramatic before Phil had to start using it for a lot of things.
But what about the opposite? Maybe two of the giants are out for a day or two, and the one who stayed behind got sick. Techno tries his best to take care of them despite his size.
-❤ anon
Sick Day
—————————
Giant House AU
CW: language
Notes: I’m gonna make it Tommy who stayed home with him since they haven’t had much bonding time, and so sorry it took literally forever for me to get back to this (also I’m blaming all grammar mistakes on me being sick)
—————————
Techno had no idea how to help a sick giant. He was already so tiny compared to the house he lived in, so trying to independently get medicine for his sick brother was way more difficult than it should have been.
Phil and Wilbur had left just the day before, which normally wouldn’t be a big problem. Techno was fine getting around on his own, especially since Tommy was staying with him.
He just didn’t plan on Tommy catching a fever while none of the other giants were there.
While Techno pondered how to actually get up to the giant’s medicine cabinet Tommy laid down curled up in his bed shivering every so often. He looked terrible.
And sounded awful too.
Earlier Techno had tried to crawl up to give him his shrinking potion, but everytime the boy sneezed it sent Techno flying… And the giant couldn’t hold him either since they both feared he’d cough and accidentally drop the human.
So there wouldn’t be any touching the giant.
Next Techno tried to make him soup thinking it might at least make him feel a little more comfortable. Though quickly he realized he couldn’t even get into the cabinet with human-sized pans without a giant’s help…And Tommy wouldn’t be getting up any time soon. Not even to mention that any soup he made would be nothing more than a spoonful for the giant unless he wanted to try to make him a hundred bowls.
So that left him standing on the edge of the giant’s counter staring up at the glass-panelled medicine cabinet. He’d never had to go in it himself, he had his own medicine in his room, but human-sized medicine wouldn’t do anything for Tommy. He was pretty sure Tommy would have to have at least a couple bottles of human medicine for it to do anything.
However, tilting his head up he could just barely see the jar he needed. It looked so close, but he couldn’t figure out how to get to it. The glass was too slippery so he couldn’t climb it, and he was too worried that if he used his hook he’d get stuck and have no way down until the other two giants came back home.
“Fuck…” Techno hummed, “Tommy you sure you can’t get up for just a moment?”
From the giant’s mound of blankets he heard a loud grumble followed by a cough, “No, cant move.”
Techno rolled his eyes and readjusted himself on the counter to get a better view of the medicine cabinet. He just needed a way to get up there- maybe he could pull something over to climb on. It probably wasn’t the safest bet, but it was better than listening to Tommy complain for the next few days.
Hastily he marched along the wooden counter over to a giant stack of empty cardboard boxes. They would be perfect…if he could actually move them that is.
With a loud huff he pushed his back into the side of the box, but only managed to move it an inch before his foot slipped.
“Come on,” he whined as he kicked out his legs against the counter- still no luck, “You gotta be kidding me.”
With a loud sigh he collapsed with his back pressed against the boxes. It wouldn’t work either.
“You okay up there?” Tommy’s voice boomed.
Techno sprung back up and glared at the huge boxes in front of him, “Yeah. Just fine.”
“Cool,” Tommy murmured, before throwing in, “can you get me some meds big man?”
Techno could almost feel the boiling annoyance building up in his stomach, “That’s what I’m doing.”
All he got was a low hum and another series of coughs from the giant. Not even a thank you.
He better be grateful later, Techno glowered.
It was only when Techno heard a soft chirp behind him that a thought sprung up in his mind. Quickly he turned around and sure enough one stray crow cocked its head at him from the other side of the kitchen. It’s black feathers glimmered under the morning light- it must have been left behind to watch over the house.
“Hey,” Techno cringed, “Bird? Why don’t you come over here Huh? You can help me.”
The bird chirped again and hopped forward before banging its beak against the counter. Not exactly what Techno wanted.
The human’s shoulder dropped as he waved at the crow, “Come on birdy. You can do it, just come here.”
The bird hopped along the counter again ruffling it’s tail feathers at the human. The sight of the giant crow was a bit unsettling, but after Phil trained them they behaved much better… Techno just hoped they’d still leave him alone even if Phil wasn’t there to control them.
“Come on. Just fly over here,” Techno pleaded, but the bird just stared, “I don’t know if you understand me but please just come here. I need the medicine.”
This time the bird cocked its head to the side before flapping over to Techno’s side, the small burst of air from its wings almost knocking Techno over.
“Oh hey,” Techno inched away from the crow’s sharp talons, “Uh maybe you do understand me huh… Can you get me up there?”
Techno pointed up at the cabinet and received a sharp chirp from the bird. Before he could even turn back around he felt a sharp prodding against his back. He tried to pull away but the pressure against his spine increased until he was plunged into darkness.
He was in the birds mouth.
Techno yelled out and tried to kick open the crow’s beak to no avail. All he heard in return was a disgruntled caw before the bird flapped its wings.
“Hey!” he yelped, trying to stay at the front of the animal’s beak, “Tommy help please!”
There was no response from the giant, although Techno wasn’t even sure if he’d be able to hear it from the crows mouth. He felt his chest start to tighten anxiously as he pounded at the hard beak. If he couldn’t get out he’d probably die there.
Tommy wouldn’t know where he went and there was no Phil to reel back in the crows. He felt helpless.
He sent another punch at the crease in the birds beak as he tried to keep his breathing steady. The last thing he needed was to cry.
Thankfully, this time when his fist hit the bird a small crack of light burst across his eyes. Immediately he tried to push himself through before he was regurgitated back onto solid ground.
He wiped the spit off his face and frantically tried to create space between him and the bird before his back hit a cold surface. He flinched away and turned only to find the glass panelled door he’d been looking at before.
His eyes whipped back to the crow that was now staring at Techno with its head tilted.
“You helped me?” Techno gasped.
The bird chirped a couple more times before hopping up to another shelf. Techno heard a bit of shuffling and scratching of the crow’s talons against wood before a giant plastic bottle thumped to the floor beside him.
Techno looked up at the crow with amazement as it let out another happy caw.
“You really are helping me,” Techno grinned, digging his hands into the container’s lid to pop it open, “I guess I see why Phil left you here huh?”
The bird cooed contentedly as it flew down to pitch beside the human. Every once in a while it’s wing would brush against Techno’s side as it’s picked at its feathers. He wouldn’t admit it but it was kind of cute in a “could definitely kill him” kind of way.
When he finally heard the loud snap of the bottle’s lid opening he let out a proud laugh before digging out two round pills. The medicine was almost the size of Techno’s arm.
The crow’s chirping increased as he packed both pills into his bag. This time with a lot less fear Techno let the bird grab him in its beak. The wet darkness was still unpleasant but he knew it wouldn’t be the cause of his demise now.
A loud of gust of wind reached his ears as the bird took off from the cabinet, and while Techno couldn’t see the outside he hoped the crow knew to take him to Tommy.
After a few seconds when the beak cracked open Techno grinned as he found himself right next to Tommy’s blanket cocoon. The sniffles of the giant boy could be heard loudly even through all the layers.
“Hey Tommy!” Techno yelled as he stepped out of the bird’s mouth and patted its head thankfully, “Got you your medicine.”
Immediately the giant’s head popped out of the blankets like a Jack-in-the-box.
Tommy coughed and grabbed at the human, “Really? Give it!”
Before the giant’s fingers could grab onto Techno he stepped back with a loud huff. His feet stood firmly on the ground as Tommy pouted at him.
“No thank you? Really?” he scoffed.
The giant teen rolled his eyes and shrugged off the human, “Whatever, thank you I guess. But I’m literally dying you know.”
A burst of laughter escaped Technos chest, “Uhuh, basically got a foot in the grave Huh?”
Tommy huffed and reached for the medicine again, but this time Techno careful placed the pills onto his outstretched hand. He heard a gulp as the giant downed it before he let out an exaggerated sigh of relief.
“Ahh,” Tommy grinned as he poked at Techno’s side, “Feel better already. Like a new man.”
“Oh shut up,” Techno laughed as he pushed away Tommy’s finger.
However it only managed to urge the giant on as he pushed the human onto the counter with his thumb. Before Techno could even react he was pinned down by the heel of the teen’s hand.
Tommy’s boisterous laugh echoed throughout the house, “Awe how cute lil Techno helping his big brother.”
Techno shook his head at the boys antics and playfully wrestled against his fingers. He was annoying sure, but he always enjoyed spending time with him.
No matter how much he pissed him off sometimes, he was his brother.

Crowza - 1
I’ve had this AU idea sitting in my brain for a while and I’m going to turn it into a full-on fanfiction series. I’ll be tagging it as Crowza AU Here is Chapter 1 💙 No trigger warnings for this one. ^^ just good fluff. ft. Mumza as Lady Death, 1.6k words
Previous (N/A) | Next
. .
There truly is no proper comparison to flying. Sure you can describe the feeling, you can say it's like swimming in freedom, but it will never compare to actually flying.
Philza thinks about this as he soars through the air, wind blowing through his primary feathers. Occasionally he flaps, defying the gravity that tries to pull him back down to earth. He takes a breath of fresh air, relishing the way it chills his lungs. If it weren't for his cloak and his feathers, he would be quite cold this high above the ground. Especially in early spring.
Although it's early April, occasional drifts of snow still dot the landscape below him as the birdman flies north for the summer. Twice a year, he makes this migration, and although it may be warmer in the southern areas, Phil enjoys the northern pine forest he calls his summer home. It's special to him for three reasons.
Kristin, his home, and his boys.
First things first, however. He needs to stop by his cache and see if it had been raided by squirrels while he was gone. Or if anything fresh is caught in his traps. Nasty buggers, always giving him grief. Troublesome creatures. Phil banks left and dives down towards a thick old oak tree with winding and twisted branches. He lands on one, bird feet gripping with sharp claws, and hops down to where his stash should be.
Near the center of the tree, the branches arch and wind themselves together in such a way that it forms the perfect shelter for someone his size. It had taken him a good century to help the young tree grow in such a way, but it gives him the perfect shelter year after year so every painstaking day of tying young branches was worth it.
Phil looks around to make sure he's not being watched before hopping inside. One can never be too careful when your cache is involved. His wings fold behind him as he walks forward, ducks under a large branch, and enters his storage room. A quick scan confirms that nothing found his home this winter and he relaxes, breathing a sigh of relief and grabbing some squirrel jerky to munch on.
It had been a long flight and he wants nothing more than to just flop on his bed and take a short nap, but he has two homes to visit first. His wings seem to ache in protest but he steps back outside and takes off into the sky once more.
A few strong flaps put him in the air and he soars the short distance it takes to get to his boys' cabin. He can see it from the top of his tree, it is an easy flight. He notices the youngest of the three outside chopping firewood and decides to land on the roof some ways above him. The sky is overcast enough that his silhouette looks just like a rather large crow.
The movement catches the boy's eye and he looks up, putting a gloved hand up to his face to try and shield his eyes from the bright white cloudshine. He squints and yells up at what he assumes is the same bird he's been seeing for years now, "Oi! Good to see you! Took your sweet time this year!"
Phil shuffles his wings and scoffs quietly. He's right on time. He always shows up to his Lady's forest on the same day every year. He watches his boy fondly as he continues to talk to himself, quieter now as he hefts the axe to chop another log in half. "Y'know, Wilbur thinks you're a crow but I think you're too big to be a crow. Plus I don't think crows can live as long as you have."
Phil sits down on the peak of the roof, legs still under him in case he needs a speedy escape. He listens to the peaceful sounds of a quiet life. A cold chill on the breeze, shadows crossing the ground as clouds moved through the sky, the occasional birdsong reaching their ears, the thunk of the axe as it chops through the wood.
The door to the cabin opens and Phil tenses, ready to fly off if attention is directed to him. He’s a little close to it and it could be a risk if whoever steps out decides to look up at him. While he loves these boys, if they find out he isn’t a crow then he’d never be able to return and watch them again.
A tall brunette steps out and calls to the blonde, “Hey, Tommy, when you’re done out here, could you come inside? Techno got a letter and we need to discuss it together, as a family.”
Tommy nods and sets down the axe. He nods towards the roof. “Hey, Wilbur, your crow friend is back. Silent as always.”
Whelp! Time to get out of there! Phil immediately takes off, flapping hard and flying over the boys’ heads. His silhouette is even harder to recognize as anything other than a crow as he soared away. Wilbur says, “Oh yeah, there it is, just like every year. You reckon he likes us?”
Whatever Tommy replies, Phil doesn’t hear it. He’s too far away, heading towards where Kristin lives in the forest. The landscape below him becomes denser and darker, the pines twisting and behaving oddly. Branches bend lower and often twist together. Crow caws are more frequent and a few join him as he flies towards his destination.
“Dadza!”
“Philza! It’s been so long!”
“Return of Dadza! Dadza! We missed you!”
Phil chuckles, striking up casual conversation with them, telling them stories of his travels. He does this every year when he returns from migration. Some of the murder follow him south during the winter but let him visit his boys alone. They prefer to stay with their lady, and Phil doesn’t blame them. He’d stay with her all the time if he was allowed.
At last they reach Kristin’s home. The murder descends and a few part ways to fly in through the open window. Phil smiles as he lands on a doormat that reads “On Death’s Door” and chuckles at the inside joke as he uses the tiny knocker built at the bottom just for him. The door opens and the most beautiful woman in all of history looks down at him with a fond smile. “And who would this be, knocking at my door?”
She wears a long black dress that graces her curves breathtakingly. Dark brown hair flows off her shoulders like a waterfall of shadows. Her voice is like the sound of windchimes in a gentle breeze, enveloping Phil in its peace. Even if his feet are rooted to the ground, his heart soars with joy. She is his everything and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Phil takes his hat off and bows to her, wings spread. When he looks up, she leans down and extends a hand towards him to step up onto. “You know I’d never miss an opportunity to have a brush with Death.”
His grin widens as she gives him a withering look. “You’ve said the same joke for the last five decades.”
“And you’ve said the same response for the last four decades.”
He laughs and balances himself as she lifts her hand. He bows his head as she presses a kiss to the top of his head, blush dusting his cheeks. The kiss of Death, if you will. Even if they’ve been together for forever, he’ll never get over these little moments. Coming back from his winter migration is his favorite part of the year.
Phil’s feathers ruffle and he places his hat back on his head. Nobody can make him feel as light as she can. She strokes his feathers and asks him about his flight, letting him perch on her hand. He tells her about the herd of deer he passed who had two fawns among them and the pack of wolves he heard while roosting one night.
She listens attentively to his words and pours him a small cup of tea. Phil could never express his love for her in the right way but he knows she understands. Their mob settles around them and drinks in every word, occasionally adding their own and squabbling amongst themselves. This is his family as much as his boys in their cabin are. He feels peace, drinking the bittersweet tea in his tiny cup.
A younger crow hops up and leans against Phil and preens his wings.
“Mumza! Mumza and Dadza!”
“Puppies! We love to see it!”
“Can we go visit them? I want to hear them!”
“Shiny ring… Phil, what about your boys?”
Phil hums and Kristin snaps her fingers. “I almost forgot! I meant to warn you, but the air is different this year. I’m not quite sure what’s going on, but I’ve felt more death in these areas than before. A few of my crows have gone missing.” She pets down his back, smoothing his feathers. “Be careful. I don’t want you to be among them, okay?”
He gives her his best reassuring smile and says, “You know me, Kristin. I never let anything happen to me. How many years have I managed to escape death?”
She chuckles. “Many times, though there have been some close calls. Just watch out. There are fates worse than death, my love.”
He bows his head. “Of course, my lady. I’ll keep an eye out.”
The rest of the night goes smoothly. New crows that followed Phil there introduce themselves to Lady Death and join their flock. By the time the fire in the fireplace dies down, the two are fast asleep in her bed, snuggled together and dreaming of a happy future.

Philza Meets Fundy
Phil meets Fundy
Thats it
Thats the fic.
(@target-block you wanted to be tagged!)
Phil walks into the Dream SMP, smiling to himself. His boys have been causing a ruckus, setting up countries and getting kicked out of them, then starting wars. It’s funny, reading through their letters that they send to him, cursing out Dream or Schlatt for most of them, before signing off that they’re going to have dinner with their so called enemies.
It’s good to know that they’re still friends with Schlatt and Dream.
“Hello Phil!” George says, waving at Phil as the man wanders around the oak paths. “Looking for your boys?”
“Yes, would you happen to know where they are?” Phil asks politely.
“I think they’re over in the meadow, I’ll take you to them.” George hums as Phil follows him, smiling as he looks at the builds. “It’s been a while since you’ve seen them, right?”
“I see Tommy every christmas and easter, he always comes home.” Phil sighs, looking to the ground. “But I haven’t heard from Wilbur since the revolution, and Techno won’t tell me why he isn’t writing anymore.”
Phil hasn’t seen Wilbur much since he left, 19 years ago. Wilbur was there when he adopted Tommy, and he visited occasionally to see Tommy and Techno and Phil, but he stopped after Tommy turned 7, only visiting for a few days before the visited stopped all together when Tommy was 9. Phil knows he shouldn’t be mad, but he also knows that Tommy followed Wilbur the next year, joining his endless wars because he wanted to know his brother.
Phil can’t imagine why Wilbur would leave his family.
“Oh, that’s horrible.” George says, frowning to the ground. “He’s been a bit distant recently, though Fundy’s finally gotten through to him that he didn’t betray his old man - I mean seriously, why would Wilbur think that his own son would betray him?”
“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?” Phil says quietly. “What do you mean, ‘his own son’?”
“Well, here’s the meadow.” George quickly says, avoiding eye contact. “I better get going, see you later Phil!” And just like that, George was gone. Phil looks around the meadow, taking everything in.
The meadow is full of flowers, the colourful petals swaying in the breeze. Bees fly around, and the air smells sweet. Unlike the rest of the server, with creeper holes and the clear remnants of war, this place is practically untouched, besides the lanterns that rest on fence posts. The sounds of birds and laughter drift gently on the breeze, and Phil watches on the edge of the meadow as Tubbo and Tommy dart around through the flowers, Tubbo chasing Tommy with paint on his hands and face.
Wilbur sits, strumming his guitar next to Techno. Techno has his eyes closed, his crown askew on his head. A teenager sits with them, with bright red hair and fox ears and a tail. He can’t be an adult, Phil thinks to himself as he looks at the teen, he could barely keep his ears from twitching at every sound. A man sits near the trio, sunglasses and a crown on his head. A woman sits with the man - Nikki, if Phil remembers correctly - her hair tied in a loose bun.
“Dad!” Tommy yells, flying into Phil’s arms. “Dad save me Tubbo’s gone insane! He has paint and shit and he’s going to cover me in it!”
“Hmm, no. I don’t think I will.” Phil laughs, scooping Tommy up and holding the teen still as Tubbo catches up to them. The three fall over, Tubbo throwing paint all over the pair. They laugh together, Tommy swacking indignantly.
“You’re here.” Tommy mumbles after a moment. “You’re actually here.”
“I know.” Phil says, getting up. “Now, where are your brothers? Wilbur owes me a hug, I haven’t seen him since you were nine.”
“They’re over there, Wil’s playing the guitar.” Tommy leads Phil to them. He holds onto Tubbo and Phil’s hands, sending joking glares to his friend.
“Dad?” Wilbur stands, shock on his face. Techno looks up before smiling at him. “You’re here?”
“Hey son.” Phil pulls Wilbur into a hug, feeling the man melt into it. He looks older than Phil remembers, bags under his eyes and a scar on his cheek - a burn wound, a few years old but still prominent. Phil spies some silver in Wilbur hair, only a small amount but still noticeable. “You’re graying, I thought you told me you’d only get gray hairs when you had a kid?” Phil jokes.
The meadow goes silent, Tommy and Techno exchanging a glance before the strange woman and man pale, Tubbo bursting into laughter.
“You didn’t tell Phil?” Tubbo says in between laughter.  Phil blinks a few times, his arms dropping to his sides. “Eret don’t go pale this is hilarious.”
“You have a kid?”
“Yes?” Wilbur says sheepishly, stepping aside to show Phil the teenager who was sitting beside him. “This is my son, Fundy.”
“He’s older than Tommy.” Phil says, dumbfounded. “When did you adopt him?”
“He’s my biological dad.” Fundy says. “Uh, hi?”
“Hello.” Phil takes a deep breath in, trying to remain calm. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, I guess I’m your grandfather?” It comes out as more of a question than it does a statement, but it’s clear to everyone in the meadow that the only person who isn’t confused is Tubbo.
“Dad never said anything about you, just that you were nice.” Fundy pulls him into a hug. “I’m glad you aren’t dead.”
Phil hugs the fox kit, smiling. He shoots a small glare at Wilbur, who nervously sways from side to side. Tommy offers Techno his hand, helping the man up. Phil reluctantly pulls away from the hug, hugging Techno briefly before turning back to…
His grandson. His grandson.
“So, who’s your mother?” Phil asks, looking around. “Is she your Ma?”
“No, Fundy’s mother is a salmon.” Tubbo says seriously. Phil stands shocked for a moment, and the whole meadow bursts into laughter. “We should get going, Eret said he’d make dinner at the castle.”
“Wait, what do you mean ‘his mother is a salmon’ Tubbo?”

For the wip ask (they all sound very interesting ngl it was hard to pick just one!) LostSteve
lost steve! yeah, so. what if shield defrosted captain america, and he broke out and just...kept running? what if they lost him? what if he ended up hiding out in tony’s tower, away from the fight for long enough to get his feet underneath him?
this fic is mostly about steve and tony finding each other first, so they can form the heart of the avengers, instead of the fault line that splits the team in half. here’s the first part of it.
                                                          —
There’s an alert from Nick Fury that Tony chooses to ignore, for the sake of his convenience and Fury’s ongoing character growth. JARVIS announces its arrival and then diligently reminds Tony about the message twice before Tony tells him to mute it until morning.
“If it’s really that important,” he says, “they’ll just send someone to break in anyway.”
Which is why, on some level, he’s not at all surprised to find a man sitting on a couch in his penthouse twenty-seven hours later. He will admit to being caught somewhat off-guard by the specifics of the situation, though, because Steve Rogers has been dead for longer than Tony’s been alive.
“Zombie?” Tony asks. “Hallucination? Oh, clone? Are you a clone?”
Steve Rogers looks at him the way people look at wax sculptures. Like he’s interested in the details of the creation in front of him, but doesn’t believe for a second that what he’s looking at is real. “Mr. Stark,” he says, politely. His voice is deeper than Tony would’ve guessed.
“Robot,” Tony theorizes. “Sexbot? Updated Trojan Horse? If I let you inside me, are you gonna--”
The man’s brow furrows, and his mouth twists down, and his eyes are too sad for circuitry. No one would code that kind of grief.
Tony pauses for a moment, rocks forward onto the balls of his feet and then back onto his heels. He studies this intruder carefully. Someone sent him a Steve Rogers lookalike in a white t-shirt and stained khakis. He’s hale and healthy, built like a god, but his feet are bare and dirty.
Bloody, too. There are bloody footprints on the carpet.
“Wait,” Tony says. “Wait. Who the hell are you?”
There’s a long beat of silence. The man on his couch just stares at him, eyes tracing over Tony’s face, his shoulders, looking at him like he’s starving for something. He’s quiet and small, somehow, in a way that doesn’t relate at all to the amount of space his body takes up.
And then he stands, light and graceful on his bloody feet. His jaw tightens, and his shoulders pull up, and he’s an American Hero, suddenly and decisively, like he’s made some kind of choice about it.
“Mr. Stark,” he says, again, “I’m Captain America.”
And he is, Tony thinks. The same way that he’s Iron Man. Because once you put on that kind of armor, whatever else you used to be is irrelevant.
                                                           —
He’s Captain America, and he’s back from the dead. SHIELD had him and lost him, and Nick Fury wants Tony to go looking for him. That’s the message he left with JARVIS over a day ago. And Tony can’t imagine he was the first name on their list, which means Steve Rogers has been alone in the wrong century for an unknown but considerable amount of time.
“Hey,” he says, calling out from where he’s slouched against the kitchen island, watching Captain America dutifully eat through every scrap of leftovers Tony had in the fridge. “How long have you been here?”
“I was born here,” he says, through a mouthful of fried rice that he hides behind a napkin. He chews, swallows, and jabs his fork over Tony’s shoulder. “In Brooklyn.”
Tony knew that. Of course he knew that. He memorized everything about Steve Rogers back when he thought he could become enough like him to make Howard consider him worthwhile. “No, I mean,” he says, waving his hands, “in this century. How long have you been--- Jesus. I dunno. Awake? Aware? Unfrosted flakes?”
Steve blinks at him. He stares for a second and then ducks his head, stirs his fork through the open takeout box in front of him. “Spent a couple days,” he says. “Looking around.”
Looking around. Steve Rogers, unwitting time-traveler, barefoot in New York. What had he been looking for? Why did he come here?
“Why didn’t you get any shoes?” Tony asks, instead of any of the more complicated questions.
Steve tucks his feet under his chair. He washed them half an hour or so back, walking uneasily into the bathroom Tony showed him and then locking the door behind him, like he thought Tony was some kind of pervert who would bodyslam through the door to catch a glimpse of him sudsing up his bare ankles.
“Didn’t have any money,” he says, surprisingly mulish about it.
“You couldn’t smash and grab a pair of Sketchers?” Tony shakes his head. “If you get lockjaw, you’re gonna have to tell Fury you caught it from somewhere else. Fuck’s sake, when was your last tetanus booster? 1943?”
He shrugs. He doesn’t seem concerned. He’s busy eating his way through enough calories to keep your average winter-starved grizzly happy.
It’s hungry work, coming back from the dead. Tony remembers the unholy things he would’ve done for a cheeseburger.
“Didn’t have any money,” he repeats, scraping his fork around the sides of the takeout box, diligent and serious, like it’s the very last scrap of food he’ll ever get.
Tony clears his throat, hip-checks the counter to heave himself to standing. “I’ll get you some cash.”
                                                           —
There’s a weird moment, when Tony gives him the money. It’s just a few hundred dollars. He’s not Tony’s problem, not his project raised from the dead, but he still doesn’t want to give Steve Rogers the means to get himself truly lost in a world he doesn’t know.
Five hundred dollars will get him some food and somewhere to sleep for a few days, but it won’t get him far enough out of SHIELD’s orbit to get himself in trouble.
He looks up when Tony gets close. There’s a well-worn wariness in his eyes. He watches him the way a dog from a bad home might watch him through the bars of the shelter’s kennel. Resigned instead of hopeful, like he knows how this goes, like he knows he can survive it.
“Here,” Tony says. He leaves the money two chairs away from him, within easy grabbing distance. “And I have shoes your size, if you want to borrow them.”
“I don’t need that,” Rogers says, pointing at the money.
Tony lets his mouth tip up sideways, smirks like this is the part of the whole situation he finds truly unbelievable. “You’re going to come into my house,” he says, “uninvited, unannounced, and then you’re going to refuse to accept my hospitality? Rogers, what would your mother think?”
There’s a stall point in Roger’s stare, like watching a bird fly into a window. There’s a moment, right around the word mother, when those blue eyes blank out, and Tony’s just staring into empty space.
“She didn’t,” he says, and it’s fascinating. He’s stitching himself up right here at Tony’s dining table. Tony can practically see it happening, vertebrae stacking up, pulling him taunt like a needle tugging on a thread. “She never liked charity.”
Tony is familiar with pride. He has something of an overabundance himself, although he comes by it honestly. He knows hurt pride hates an audience, so he looks away.
“I imagine she hated the idea of you starving, too,” Tony says. “Probably worked very hard to make sure that didn’t happen. Going to waste all her work now, Rogers? Seems ungrateful.”
He’s half-taunting by the end of it. He’s not sure why. He finds weak points like a magnet finds iron. Sometimes he doesn’t even know what he’s pulling on until after he’s accidentally ripped out someone’s heart. It’s not one of the traits he’s proud of, but, like his pride, he knows where it came from.
Rogers glares at him, but he hooks the next takeout container over anyway.
“I’ll get those shoes,” Tony says. JARVIS has already measured; Rhodey left some boots that should fit.
Steve doesn’t say anything, but, when Tony comes back, the money is gone, and so is he.
                                                           —
Tony doesn’t tell Fury a damn thing. If Fury lost a national icon, that’s his problem. And anyway, Tony’s still not completely convinced that the blonde who materialized in his penthouse was actually Steve Rogers and not some kind of really confused, really well-built homeless man. Or a stripper.
Tony’s never actually met a stripper who showed up in khakis, refused to disrobe, and then ate ten pounds of takeout before silently disappearing, but he’d be willing to pay another five hundred dollars for a repeat performance.
He figures out how the maybe-Steve got into his penthouse. He upgrades the security, but he tells JARVIS to let him in if he ever comes back. He’s not sure what he’s hoping for, but he’s too curious to lock him out.
                                                           —
There’s a bit of nothing that kicks off in New York, some Hammer tech that goes haywire. Tony puts it down like the cheap knockoff that it is, but he gets stuck in debrief with Phil Coulson afterwards, because he’s not quite quick enough to abandon the scene after the fight’s over. In his defense, he was holding a car above a partially-trapped bicyclist, and Coulson caught him before the EMTs could finish disentangling her.
He makes it back to the Tower after an hour of mostly-wasted time. Steve Rogers is sitting at his dining table. Tony bites back the ludicrous urge to “honey, I’m home!” him.
“Hey,” he says instead, as he steps in from the balcony, stripped down to the skintight suit he wears under the armor. He didn’t expect company. “You get something to eat?”
Steve seems somehow offended by the question. “I didn’t break in here and steal anything,” he says.
“Okay,” Tony says, moving past him. “Well, that’s a gold star and an empty stomach for you, Rogers. We’re all very proud.”
“It’s not my food,” Steve tells him. If he had hackles, they’d be raised. Tony wants to pat him on the head, but only because he’s always had a sort of neurotic tendency to see how hard people bite before he decides whether to trust them.
“Yeah, and a twenty-dollar grocery bill is really gonna break me,” Tony says. He takes a smoothie out of the freezer. “You want pizza? I’m gonna order pizza.”
Steve stares at him for a long moment before he shrugs. “I could eat,” he says.
“Great,” Tony says. He has JARVIS order three pizzas, because he wants at least half of one for himself, and Steve Rogers is a human garbage disposal.
Steve takes a shower while they’re waiting. He asks first, which Tony supposes is the polite thing to do, and he takes his backpack with him, like he’s worried Tony’s going to steal his wallet.
“You know,” Tony says, when Steve remerges, wearing another knockout set of some grandpa’s Goodwill khakis and button-down shirt, “you keep showing up like this, and it’s gonna get harder for me to lie to Fury about having no idea where you are.”
Steve flips open a pizza box and carefully selects a slice. His hair is wet and neatly combed back from his face. He’s handsome from a distance but damn near devastating at close range. Tony takes another bite of pizza, hopes it’ll help swallow back the urge to sink a few grand into war bonds.
“Fury’s the guy with the eyepatch?” Steve doesn’t settle into a seat. He takes his pizza and wanders over to the window, stares out at the skyline.
“Yeah, that’s him,” Tony says.
Steve makes a face. Tony can see it, dulled and faded, in the reflection on the glass. “He’s persistent,” he says, slowly. Not like it’s a compliment.
“Yeah,” Tony says, again, “that’s him.”
Steve doesn’t say anything else. Tony finishes his slice of pizza, eats another one. There’s an ache in his right shoulder from being wrenched around by Hammer’s ridiculous creation, and he should be icing it, but he doesn’t want to. Not with Steve Rogers here.
He’s never liked looking human in front of an audience. His problem has always been that he couldn’t figure out how to stop. At least, not until he built his armor.
Steve comes back when he’s out of pizza. He’s catlike in his wariness, in the way he seems pissed at Tony for daring to exist in his proximity.
“That fight,” he says, apropos of approximately nothing at all. “Earlier.”
“Oh,” Tony says, rising out of his chair and moving toward the bar, giving Steve the room to loom over the pizza like he’s defending his kill. “You see that on the news?”
“Saw it on the street,” Steve says. “Heard the screams.”
Heard the screams and came running. So he’s still in the hero business. Fury will be happy to hear it.
“You’re gonna get yourself killed,” Steve tells him. He sounds angry about it. At Tony, not the situation. “Where’s your backup?”
“Backup,” Tony repeats. “Cap, c’mon. Read a newspaper. I work alone.”
Steve Rogers looks up from his pizza perusal just long enough to roll his eyes. It should feel like a slap across the face, and maybe it does. However it feels, Tony likes it. Wants more of it. There’s always been something grounding in being dismissed, like Tony’s never known where he stands until someone shows him how he doesn’t measure up.
“Is that supposed to be impressive?” Steve asks. “Men who work alone die alone, Stark. And they’re not very effective when they do.”
Tony knows he’s meant to be offended. He is, probably. But he couldn’t bite back his smile for anything. “I think I liked you better when you called me ‘Mr. Stark.’”
“Seems to me,” Steve says, “you want everyone to call you Iron Man these days.”
“Oh Captain, my Captain,” Tony says, “surely they had that line about glass houses in the ‘40’s?”
Steve frowns at him. “I never asked anyone to call me Captain America.”
“And yet,” Tony says, tipping a bottle of whiskey his direction, “that’s how to introduced yourself to me.”
Steve gives him a look like he thinks Tony’s being deliberately obtuse. “That’s who I am,” he says.
Tony rolls his eyes and flips a tumbler right side up. “But when I start using a stage name,” he says, “suddenly I’m a narcissistic asshole who doesn’t--”
“Do you think,” Steve says, looming up suddenly, shifting gears like something mechanical, going battle-ready with more decisiveness than a faceplate clicking down, “that anybody spent years, spent—I don’t know. Millions of dollars? Do you think anybody did that for Steve Rogers?”
Tony’s caught wrong-footed. He did it again. Drilled until he found the nerve, cut until he broke the skin.
“I think you don’t get one without the other,” Tony says, trying now to soothe. But he’s not very good at it. His instincts don’t run this direction. His whole life, the only things he could ever repair were machines.
Steve shakes his head. He steps away from the pizza. He looks around, eyes zeroing in on his backpack.
“Stay here,” Tony says, sidling out from behind the bar, whiskey now in hand.
Steve straightens up like a cobra, like he’s going to spit venom in Tony’s face. Tony wants to put his mouth on him, which is probably only half because he’s always been hellbent on his own destruction. The other half is that Steve Rogers is beautiful like something made in a lab for aesthetics alone, carefully designed for universal appeal. Tony likes to tell himself he has a taste for the exclusive, but the reality has always been he wants exactly what everyone else does.
“You don’t want SHIELD to find you,” Tony says, “then stay here. Trust me, this is the last place they’d think to look.”
He’s not standing between Steve and the exit. He was careful about that. Whatever SHIELD might think about him, he doesn’t have a death wish. And also, when he’s thinking about it, he’s not usually deliberately an asshole. It’s just that, most of the time, he’s not thinking about it.
“Why should I trust you?” Steve asks.
Tony shrugs. Hell, he has no idea. “Why’d you come here? The first time. When SHIELD lost you, you came here. Why?”
“I went home,” Steve says, argumentative, all squared shoulders and tight jaw. “I went to Brooklyn. But it wasn’t there anymore. None of it was—I couldn’t find…”
He trails off, shakes his head, sharp and agitated, a horse bothered by a fly. It’s hard to look in his eyes. There’s something in them that Tony doesn’t want to see. It’s like watching a statue bleed.
“I heard there was still a Stark in New York,” Steve says. “I read about you. I thought maybe you’d--”
“You thought I’d be like Howard,” Tony finishes for him. “Sorry to disappoint.”
“I thought you’d be like me,” Steve says, which doesn’t make any sense at all.
“You,” Tony says. And then, a little helplessly, “What?”
Steve looks away. He shrugs, looks back. “I saw the suit,” he says. “On the news. I saw what it can do. I didn’t think--- things have advanced a lot. I didn’t understand. I thought Howard had…”
Tony squints at him. “You thought Howard did a Rebirth redux and tested it on his kid?”
“I thought a lot of things,” Steve says, snappy. “It was a very confusing couple of days.”
Tony can imagine that it was. “So you thought I was Rebirthed, and you wanted--”
“I didn’t want anything,” Steve says, and there’s that flash of exposed nerve again, that look like a sinkhole in the backs of his eyes. “That’s not the point.”
Tony takes a sip of his whiskey. It settles, warm and sweet, into his stomach.
I didn’t want anything.
I shouldn’t be alive, unless it’s for a reason.
Tony holds the tumbler out. Steve needs the warmth more than he does. “Here,” he says.
Steve takes it, seemingly on reflex. “I can’t get drunk,” he says.
“Well,” Tony says, circling back toward the bar, “not with that attitude.”

and the void looked back to say i love you (Part Two)
A/N: another installment of bird man flirting with the spooky giant void lady! also if anyone wants to be tagged in my mcyt fics, pls send me an ask!
Warnings: death mentions, eldritch horror type elements (kristin shows a bit more of her spookiness in this one, but it’s still pretty tame)
Masterpost
-
After that first meeting, Phil continued to come and visit Kristin. Sometimes he would fly around a bit, nearly giving his crows heart attacks as he dove down to touch the void, while Kristin cheerfully reminded him that while she was the Queen, she could not necessarily save him from the void once it had its grasp on him. He would just as cheerfully respond that he knew what he was doing, although that did not soothe his crows in the slightest. Sometimes Kristin would take on a smaller form, with wings as dark as the void itself to fly alongside Phil, full on diving in and out of the void and laughing all the while. Other times Phil would sit in the palm of Kristin’s hand or sometimes on her shoulder, and the two of them would just talk. Phil would tell her about his adventures in the Overworld, while Kristin would interject with questions every now and then. As all she ever had really known was the void, Kristin didn’t have many stories to tell, but Phil didn’t seem to mind- just simply being with her seemed to be enough.
“Being here with you makes me think of home. As a kid I used to fly above the void with my older peers as we dared each other to touch it,” Phil commented one day.
“You would taunt death for fun as a child?” Kristin asked, bewildered at such an idea.
“To be fair, I taunt death for fun even now,” Phil said with a laugh. A few crows squawked in disapproval, but he brushed them off with a smile and wave of his hand.
“I hadn’t noticed, with how much you’ve dived towards my domain,” Kristin said dryly. Phil laughed again, shaking his head. A comfortable silence settled over the two as they watched the ebb and pull of the void.
“Can I ask you something?” Phil piped up after a few moments.
“Sure.”
“So… you’re the Queen of the Void. You talk about the void like it’s something you rule over, but also can’t exactly control. But it also seems like you’re part of the void, or you’re at least made up of the same stuff as it. What I guess I’m trying to ask is… how does being the Queen of the Void work?” Phil asked. Kristin frowned in thought while Phil and his crows waited attentively for an answer.
“I both am separate and part of the void. I am usually formless, except for when I choose to take shape- I only chose something resembling a human because you were something resembling a human, but I could have easily picked a crow’s form if I wanted to. I drew upon the void to take shape, but that isn’t an entirely accurate way of putting it, since the void is shapeless to begin with. But in terms of how being Queen works… asking if I can control the void is like asking you if you can control your own heartbeat. Your heart is part of you, certainly, but it’s not something you control, it just beats on its own. The void is like that for me in a way. It is part of me, and I am part of it, but I can’t control it. But at the same time, I am entirely separate from the void, and the void is separate from me,” Kristin explained. Phil looked absolutely bewildered, while the crows didn’t seem to comprehend what Kristin had said at all.
“I think I get it. My brain hurts, but I get it,” Phil said after a long period of silence.
“That’s alright, I guess it is a little mind-boggling. I’ve never had to explain it to anyone before, since to me it’s all I’ve ever known,” Kristin said with a shrug. Phil’s brow furrowed in concern.
“You’ve only ever been here? But you know about some things from the Overworld, I haven’t had to explain as much as I thought I might have to,” Phil said, head tilted to one side in confusion.
“My knowledge is not as limited as you might think. And it’s never occurred to me to try and leave the void. It’s not exactly ‘home,’ at least in the way you talk about home, but it’s where I reside. I’ve been content here,” Kristin replied, almost equally as confused as Phil. Should she want to leave the void, leave everything she had ever known?
“I guess that’s true. It just… sounds lonely,” Phil said softly, peering up at Kristin with a sympathetic smile. Something in Phil’s expression… it sent her heart fluttering. And seeing as she didn’t usually take on a physical form, this sensation was something Kristin was unused to… but she didn’t think she minded it.
“I didn’t know loneliness, I suppose being alone was just something I was used to, like both being the void and being separate from it. But I think I could identify the feeling of loneliness now,” Kristin replied. Phil’s soft expression twisted with confusion.
“What do you mean?” he asked. Kristin let out a laugh, almost missing the fond look Phil gave at the sound.
“I know loneliness because it’s what I feel when you’re not here,” Kristin said softly. Phil’s face broke into a grin- bright, dazzling, and unlike anything Kristin had ever known.

for the longest time my brain just did not want to write. but then two scenes came to mind and bam, chapter!
and as always
@petrichormeraki
Wilbur showed up like he was arriving at a party. In a sense he was since Dream was taken down and he was going to see Tommy again. Dream may have revived him, but even that wasn’t going to convince Wil to help the tyrant. When he reached Philza and Techno, he was surprised to see no sign of Tommy. “So, where is he?”
“Tommy? He’s showing off his base to Tubbo.” Grian spoke up, making Wilbur notice him. His parrot wings were folded tightly so they couldn’t be seen, which was perfect for him. "Hey, you got something in your hair.”
Wilbur patted his head. “What, my hat?”
Grian shook his head and put a blue feather there. “It’s right there.”
“I can feel you put something there.” Wilbur pulled the feather out. “Don’t need you-” He stopped talking once he actually looked at the feather.
“Hey look, I’ve got one too.” Techno said pointing at the yellow feather placed behind his ear.
“No.” Wilbur sounded dumbfounded and looked back at Grian, who now had a red feather stuck in his own hair.
“Alright, let’s go see Tommy.” Grian spoke nonchalantly before Wilbur grabbed him.
“Oh no you don’t! You don’t just get to drop that bombshell on us and walk away!”
Grian laughed. “What, missed me?”
“Yes! Where the fuck were you?”
“Oh, here and there. How are you doing being alive again.”
“Less violent than I was before dying I suppose.”
“Good! But I’m still not letting you near Tommy.” When Wilbur tried to say something, Grian stopped him. “Nope, you can’t argue. I’m oldest now.”
“What the fuck to you mean, I’m a minute older than you bird boy.”
“Not anymore, I’m now in my thirties.”
“Wh- How?!”
Philza put a hand on Wilbur’s shoulder. “We can talk more when we meet back up with Tommy.”
“Yeah, we can visit his base hermit cribs style. I’ll grab my backup elytra and some rockets!” Grian ducked into a shop to use their ender chest. “Oh yeah, are you guys okay with rockets? Because Tommy told me Tubbo doesn’t like them. They won’t explode or anything, they’re just to help you with flying. Obviously dad and I won’t need them, but uh, you guys don’t have wings.”
“I’ll take them.” Wilbur said. Techno was less eager, but did also accept the elytra.
As Grian was about to take off with his family, Scar cleared his throat to get their attention. “Now Grian, while I am glad that you have found the family you lost, I am still very serious about that paperwork. I have different forms for if they’re planning to stay permanently or if they’re just going to visit often. I can send the paperwork to your mansion if you want though if you just want to come to town hall right now, we can do it there.”
“Scar, right now I want to talk with my family and figure out what we’re doing. We can’t really sign paperwork if we don’t know which paperwork to sign, right?”
Scar nodded in agreement. “Alright, I’ll send it to the mansion then. Also about the other people visiting.”
Grian flapped his wings to quickly get into the air. “Sorry Scar too far away can’t hear you byeeeee!”
On the ground, Phil sighed, though he was smiling. “I guess this means we better start flying. Let’s get up higher for an easier take off.”
Though it took an attempt or two, the avian lineage seemed to help Techno and Wilbur get the hang of using elytra extremely fast. Though in the air, Grian hadn’t flown too far and the others easily caught up with him. He guided them to the south west towards where Tommy’s base was.
As it came into view, Grian couldn’t help but laugh as he heard a gasp from behind. They landed in front of the arch acting as a doorway on the ground floor to find Tommy leaning against it. “Took long enough dickheads.”
Grian was about to jokingly scold Tommy when Wilbur went to hug and or lovingly bully his younger brother. Tommy waved his arms in an attempt to get Wil to stop, but he kept running towards Tommy. Just before he could reach the blond, he was tackled to the ground from the side by Grian.
“Grian! I was joking! It was going to be fine!” Tommy complained, helping to pull the avian off Wilbur. “You don’t have to keep mothering me! Stress does that plenty!”
“It’s not my fault I wore the chicken mask that long.”
“That is entirely your fault! And wearing a mask that long doesn’t change anything.”
Tommy and Grian continued to playfully argue until Philza caught their attention. “Oh right, forgot we had meetings to get to. Hey Tommy, which floor do you think is best for talking about all this.”
Tommy put a hand on his chin. “Hmmm, how about the sixth floor? I mean, that one is based on the smp.”
“Sounds great!” Grian said before flying up there, leaving the others behind.
“Hey! No fair!” Tommy shouted up. “Some of us have to use rockets to fly! Ugh fine we’re taking the bubble stream.”
Entering the tower, the first floor was just completely made of cobble. It was his favorite block and all, so if he was going to mainly use the first floor, that was the design he wanted. There were also a number of chests placed around to the point that it had become a bit of a chest monster. Wilbur couldn’t help but be curious and opened one chest, eyes widening at the contents. “This is filled with diamond tools and armor! You’re just leaving it here?”
Tommy looked over to what Wil was referring to. “What? Oh, that’s from endbusting. It’s all cursed gear. You should have seen the time I caught Joe afk and gave him a set of binding diamond armor. I’m not sure how he didn’t notice right away, but the moment I mentioned I liked his armor, he jumped in the nearest lava pool.”
“Really? Other than the curses, this seems like it’s pretty good?”
“Not really. No one is really stealing from each other so everyone’s got great gear. Besides, part of the prank was giving Joe diamond gear. He apparently said he wasn’t going to use diamonds this world and burns them when he gets them.”
“He just burns diamonds?!”
“Yeah.” Tommy shrugged, then walked over to one of many bubble columns. “Here, this one goes to the sixth floor. You guys go first. I want to make sure you go in it and not the others. I’ll show off my shit hermitcribs style later.”
When they got off the bubble elevator, it was something that was recognized immediately. The floor was made of grass and one wall was missing and looking right at the now setting sun. In the middle of the room was a simple bench and a jukebox.
“Your bench.” Wilbur spoke up, making Tommy nod.
“Yeah. There’s also one in the shopping district. That’s for more public stuff. I’ll just be hanging on the bench and other hermits can show up to talk about shit. This one’s for more private stuff like this.”
“Or for letting me cuddle with you.” Grian poked his head up from the other side of the bench.
Tommy’s face turned a shade of red. “We do not cuddle!”
“Then what do you call what we do when you’ve had a long day and need me to come over so you can use my wings as a blanket.”
“Hanging out. Cuddling makes it sound weird.” Tommy crossed his arms.
Grian just tackled Tommy and wrapped him in his wings. “You’re not allowed out until you admit it!”
“Never bird bitch!”
He rubbed the feathers against Tommy’s face. “Say iiit!” Tommy just plucked a feather out making Grian pull back. “Ow! You didn’t have to do that!”
“I thought you wanted us to talk as a family or some shit.”
Grian rolled his eyes, but did nod. “Yeah, you’re right.” And then he sat down on the ground across from the bench. The others found their own places to sit and just sat there in silence for a few moments before Wilbur started the conversation.
“So, you changed your name then huh? Everyone’s calling you Grian.”
Grian nodded. “Yeah, I started using it back when I was in the orphanage and legally changed it when I was eighteen. Though it took a while with the criminal record.”
“I’m sorry, your what?” Philza asked sternly, but Grian just shrugged.
“Yeah I sort of murdered some people. I probably could have found a way around it, but at the time, it was the best answer I had. And I didn’t really have a good support system. I mean, I had friends, but how are you supposed to tell them you have voices in your head telling you what to do when they’re already not the best people themselves.”
Philza rubbed his forehead. “How bad?”
“Well…”
“No, nevermind. I don’t want to know.”
“So, you’re a Watcher?” Techno spoke up in a monotone voice.
Grian used enough of his power to make a third eye appear for a second before making it disappear again. “Yeah, whatever took me from you guys happened again and dropped me off in a world that was like, so many years in the past. I actually got dropped there with a lot of people and the Watchers sort of played around with us. Nothing as bad as what Dream seemed to be doing, just puzzles and cryptic clues and portals everywhere to push us forward in time when they saw fit. Eventually they convinced me to join them.”
“Just like that?” Techno raised an eyebrow.
“Nah, I was a real pain in their side for loads of time before they finally asked me to join. I’m pretty sure it was because it was because that was the one way to get me to stop messing around.” Grian laughed at his own joke before looking sadly at the floor. “First thing I did was start looking for you guys. I assumed you would still be in the castle or somewhere nearby, but the place was abandoned. And it’s harder to find someone when you don’t know what world they’re in.”
Philza started to reach for Grian, but the younger avian’s wings started to puff up in agitation. “You know, I don’t know if I should be happy that I found you or upset. I could have never figured out where you guys were unless I got lucky peering into worlds. Only reason I found out was because Tommy came here. And he only came here because he ended up in a dangerous world with no family helping him. And you nearly took him back there.”
Tommy put a hand on one of Grian’s wings, making him puff up even more. “Hey, calm down Big G. You made sure they couldn’t do that. And if they do try, just knock some sense into them.”
Grian calmed down, though there was still tension in the room and no one spoke. The first thing that broke the silence was a yell from above them. “Tommy! How do you get down? I don’t have a water bucket on me!”
Tommy jumped up from where he was sitting. “Oh shit! I’ll be right there Tubbo!” And Tommy jumped out the window. Grian waited a moment before asking the others to look behind them, which they did just in time for all of them to see Tommy making a face at them all as he went up the bubble stream. A few moments later, Tubbo was going down a different bubble elevator and then Tommy glided in through the window. “Sorry, I keep the down one closed off so the bees don’t wander their way into it on a suicide mission. Tubbo couldn’t find it and obviously he’s not flying around.”
“Can you actually ask him to come up here? I want to say something that involves him.”
“Got it.” Tommy leaned out the window. “Hey Tubbo! Come back up here! Use the one with green glass!”
A moment later, Tubbo exited onto the floor. Tommy pushed Wilbur off the bench to make room for Tubbo to sit. “Hey! How are you so strong!”
Tommy gestured at the room around them. “I mean, I got help from some of the hermits for the interior, but the exterior was all me. I mined tons of shit looking for diamonds and I used it for here. I mean, I also got some help with the flag on top, but otherwise, all seventeen floors were built by me.”
“Seventeen floors?!”
“I know, they’re all as tall as this one so it’s small as fuck. Only big one is the top since I didn't waste an extra ceiling with the roof there.”
“You should do what Tango did last season and add a dragon or two.”
“Nah, might just start making a castle to pair up with it.”
“Tommy! What the fuck!” Tubbo said suddenly. “How did you get so good?!”
“It’s just sort of how we do stuff here on Hermitcraft.” Grian answered. “You were at Iskall’s tree right? That’s his base. He got us to help collect the leaves, but he’s been placing it all.” Tubbo just looked like his head was about to explode. “Anyway, I wanted Tommy to call you here because I didn’t get the chance to tell you. You’re the admin of the smp now.”
“I’m what?!”
“I figured after all I’ve heard about you from Tommy, you would be safe to turn into the admin. Obviously it can be moved to someone else, but you were the first choice.”
“I can’t be the admin! What if I end up like Dream?! I already wasn’t the best at being president! What if I screw up and they put me in pandora’s vault too!”
Tommy hugged Tubbo. “You were a great president, you just had to deal with bad people. And they’re not going to put you in some stupid fucking vault for a mistake.”
“And if they do, we call in Mumbo. Speaking of him, I should call him over.” Grian pulled out his communicator and hit the call button for Mumbo, putting it on speaker for the fun of it. When the redstoner answered, Grian spoke in a dramatic and joking tone into the microphone. “Mumbo. Babe. Light of my life. Father of our children.-”
Though Grian sounded like he was going to continue, a tired sounding Mumbo came through to stop him. “What do you need Grian?”
“We’re at Tommy’s base. Can you come over and meet everyone?”
“I was already planning on finding you. I’m of course on Grian watching duty after that stunt you pulled. I would have already shown up but the redstone blocks finally needed replacing.”
“Remember to bring scaffolding. You know water and redstone don’t mix.”
“I’m well aware. Bye Grian.” And Mumbo hung up.
Grian and Tommy explained more of everything on Hermitcraft and answered more questions while they all waited for Mumbo. Finally there was the distinct noise of scaffolding being placed and they saw a tower appear in front of the window and then keep going up. From below, they could hear Mumbo talking to someone else he had brought along. “You don’t need that much. Grian said they’re only on the sixth floor.”
“But I want to see Tubbee! Tubbee Tubbee Tubbee!”
“You can see Tubbee later. C’mon, let’s see Grian first.”
After the talking stopped, up the scaffolding came what looked to be a small child. Behind them was someone a bit taller, but obviously still young, and last was a man in a black suit and a mustache.
“Dad!” The smallest one ran over and jumped at Grian. Wilbur looked between Grian and the kid.
“Wait, so that wasn’t a joke. You actually have kids?”
“Well you have Fundy. I have these two. Meet Grumbot and Jrumbot.”
Wilbur opened his mouth again with a sly smirk. “Is he any good?” and then added in a wink.
When he realized what was being implied, Mumbo’s face turned a bright red and he tried talking but it was all flustered stuttering. Grian has a similar though not as pronounced reaction to the question. Jrumbot looked between his dads confused while Grumbot looked at Wilbur. “My brother and I were merely built and are powered by redstone. We have no organic parts. Our dads are not together and thus have not had se-”
“GRUMBOT!”

Step Dadza and Reader
Characters: c!Philza, c!Technoblade, c!Ranboo
Warnings: Suic*de mention, light angst, fluff
After Y/n goes missing, Philza searches high and low for them before finally finding them in a situation in which he assumes the worst...
2.3k words
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Not a thing ran through your mind, everything was numb. Cold. So very cold. There was nothing but you and the crashing waves against the rock just below you. And...wings? It must just be a bird flying low. The running footsteps? No no, you must be imagining it.
“Hey! There you are kiddo.” You jumped a little and looked back. Phil smiled at you, tucking his wings close to himself along with his jacket before he knelt down to you, peering around you to the icy water far below that you sat in front of.
“What are you doin’? It’s cold out here and you are very underdressed.” He looked back to you and gestured to yourself with a small wave on his hand. You hadn’t put on the usual arctic outfit to keep you warm, you hadn’t even brought a coat. Just a light long-sleeved shirt and pants with snow boots.
You looked down at the water right below you. It was a small drop, so you were dangling your legs over the edge. Just enough for the water to lick the bottom of your boots from time to time. With a sigh, you brought your legs back up and crossed them. The snow on your shoes was melting from the warmness of your legs, but you could hardly feel it as you had been sitting on the frozen ground for so long that a lot of you just felt numb.
“I was just um… I just came out here to think.”
“Just… to think?” He laughed a little, “In the freezin’ cold? Come on, even I’m pretty chilly right now.”
You didn’t answer him. Frankly, you weren’t sure what to say or if you should say anything. You didn’t want him worrying and if you said any more he was bound to more than he must already have been.
“Hey… what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Phil said softly and reached out, placing his hand on your back and rubbing slowly. His hand was really warm, and against your chilled body, it felt so nice and comforting. The last time you felt something like this was so far away, hardly in reach anymore. It had been so long, so so long.
A small hitch in your breathing snapped you back to reality, feeling hot tears running down your frozen cheeks though they rapidly cooled. Leaning forward a bit, you wiped at your face as fast as you could.
“Aw… mate. Come on, get up for me okay?” He spoke soft, the tone making the tears run faster, as he pulled your arm up a little to get you to stand. It took a moment and you were unsteady, but you got back onto your feet while using his arm as a crutch. You turned toward him and before you could even focus on him, he pulled you into him. Using his long cape-like jacket to completely envelope you in warmth along with the extra layer as you felt his wings fold around to hold you.
You clung to him and even in your trembling, fragile state, you hugged him tightly. Your emotions quickly started to overwhelm you with this strong sense of safety and security, it didn’t take long before you let out a quiet sob and pressed your face into his chest as he was tall enough for that to be a comfortable way to hold you.
“It’s okay… shh it’s alright. I promise you, you’re okay now.” Phil gently pets your head, smoothing down your messy hair and running his fingers through it to detangle it a bit. He let go a little when you took a deep, shuddery breath to help you calm down but brought you back, holding you closer when you relaxed.
“Mate… I don’t know what’s going on and we don’t need to talk about it alright? Not unless you need to, but I won’t ask about it, I promise. Just know I am always here for you so please come to me when you need me.” He took a deep breath and let it out, resting his head on yours, and spoke quieter. “It was a scary sight just seein’ you sittin’ on the edge. Couldn’t help but think the worst.”
It hit you like a train right then what your situation must have looked like to any other wandering eyes, your only intention was to get away.
“I’m… I’m sorry Phil.” You mumbled, “I didn’t even… I didn’t mean to scare you.”
He laughed, the sound being light-hearted but still soft enough to keep with the somber mood.
“It’s okay, let’s just go home okay? You’re freezing cold. Gods, I’m surprised you didn’t get frostbite or something.” His arms let up from around you but slipped down to your upper arms with a steady grip as he still held you there, but looked behind him in the direction toward the house. “The boys were worried too, I had to yell at Techno before finally, he took me seriously. I needed someone to stay with poor Ranboo, the kid was nearly in tears when he told me he couldn’t find ya.”
“Why was he searching for me?” You questioned him, making him look back at you. You didn’t really expect any of the three to be needing you, especially Ranboo as he tends to go off during the days to do his own things.
“Oh, well, I couldn’t exactly press the poor boy with how upset he was but I think he was just wanting some company. He must have been pretty desperate because he said he had been searching for you for about a couple of hours.” Phil sighed and chuckled a little, “I’m even lucky to have spotted you out here. I don’t think I could have if I wasn’t flying, you sure found a pretty far-off place. Far away from anywhere, you would usually go at least.”
It had been easy to be able to trust these people. Phil opened his arms to you when you were lost and offered you a place to call home and you were quick to warm up to your new companions. They were easy to trust and that’s all you needed from them, but what you were realizing now really threw your exhausted state for a loop.
You were loved.
These people loved and cared about you. Even with as stubborn as Technoblade was and how standoff-ish Ranboo could be and even with how dangerous Philza could present himself, they loved you and cared about you. How had you not realized this until now? They were your family.
“Phil…”
He hummed an answer and tilted his head, looking at you. He was rubbing your arm soothingly, as he must have noticed the tears that you could feel burning your eyes. It took you a few moments to respond to him, not sure what you even wanted to say to him.
“I… I care about you all so much. I don’t ever want to leave or live a life without any of you.” Your voice choked up a bit at the end as a could of tears fell and you hugged him again, tightly. “I love you Dad.”
He made a soft noise in surprise before he wrapped his arms around you, swaying you a little bit. “Aww… mate. You finally said it.” He sounded so happy and touched by your words and let go of you to reach up and ruffle hair to bother you and make you laugh, chuckling as you swatted at his hand, and tried to duck away and took a step away from him. “I love you too kid.”
Hearing that felt good, it’s been a while since you’ve felt that. Knowing you’re safe and cared for with someone. It was… a relief.
“Let’s get you home and in front of the fire, okay?” Phil said as he extended his hand to you and you hesitated.
An offer. Maybe even as a silent promise if you really thought into it.
You took his hand with a smile to which he returned it and tucked his wings up against his back.
“I would offer to fly us back, but I don’t think I would be able to with how cold it is,” He chuckled. “My wings almost gave out on me while tryin’ to find you.”
“Oh- gosh I’m sorry.” Your voice tainted with the guilt you felt. Phil must have pushed himself to the very limit trying to make sure you were okay. Flying until his wings were numb and hardly willing to move how he needed them to, making it a pure miracle he didn’t have a crash landing.
“Hey mate, it’s fine! I’m alright, just got a good workout in.” He gave your hand a comforting squeeze and pulled you toward him, making you take a few steps forward, and he put his hand on your upper back to give you a small boost to walk as he started trudging in the direction of their home.
The walk back was quiet and overall uneventful.  A small breeze started to kick up, blowing the light snow that had yet to truly settle, and despite it not being strong, it felt as if it ripped right through you. Chilling your bones and making you shiver, your numb body finally giving a reaction to the coldness again since walking was just barely warming it up. Without a word, Phil slipped his coat off and pulled his wings through the back slits, ruffling them a bit, then reached over to set it on your shoulders. You looked at him and he merely stepped up his pace, you could see him shivering too despite his attempt to try to hide it by stretching his body a bit.
It took a while. An hour, two maybe, but the ground you walked over and the scenery finally started to look familiar again and after another 15 minutes passing, the smoke from the cottage chimney came into view. Perfect timing you’d say as the sun was just about below the horizon now. Another 10 minutes and you would have been bathed in darkness along with the rest of your part of the world.
Phil walks up the steps first with you behind him and before even he reaches the door, it swung open with Techno stumbling and holding onto the handle right after it. It seems someone sure had an ear out for you coming home. He looked a mess with his hair unbraided and only being in a long-sleeved shirt and dark pants instead of his usual elaborate getup.
Even though he was barefooted, he stepped right out onto the snowy porch, hurrying over to you and wrapping you in a bear hug as soon as both your feet were on the even surface of the porch.
“Oh thank gods- you’re okay. It started getting dark and I..” He trailed off and let out a breath, just hugging you tighter to which you wrapped your arms around him in return, rubbing his back to comfort him despite you being the one to go missing, this making you laugh a little.
“I’m sorry I worried you Techno I just- I needed time.” You whispered, guilt flooding your system once again and resting your tired head against his shoulder.
“Alright kids, we need to get in. Techno you don’t even have shoes on.” Phil scolded him and the piglin let you go and walked back through the doorway and Phil stood waiting for you. He was smiling, he looked tired and relieved as he kept the door held open for you. Walking in, you stepped aside for Phil and looked up to see Ranboo waiting and nervously wringing his hands while he watched you step inside, he looked like he wanted to hug you but wasn’t sure if he was allowed to yet. You opened your arms a little as a kind of invitation to which he accepted immediately, hugging you close and letting out a shaky sigh as he rubbed your back.
“I’m so glad you’re okay, I don’t know what we would have done if something happened to you.” His words struck deep and tore open the wound that was already there from your harsh delivery of guilt from this incident.
“I’m so sorry… I’m sorry.” You mumbled apology after apology to him and soon feeling, who you guessed was Phil, hugged both you and Ranboo and shortly after was Techno to hold you all together.
“Y/n, shhh. Shhh, it’s okay, you’re okay, we are all okay now.” Phil whispered, reiterating the same words until you silenced and calmed down. Then the whole home grew silent besides the crackling fireplace and eventually, ranboo spoke quietly.
“I don’t mean to uh ruin the nice mood here but if we stand here any longer I think I’ll fall asleep.” The group collectively laughed and slowly dispersed. Phil took his coat from you to hang up and Techno made small talk with you to make sure you were okay and if you needed anything, he was there.
Everyone went off to do small nightly chores while you settled in front of the fire to find some sort of peace on your own. It didn’t take long till Phil made his way down to you with a blanket, he draped it around your shoulders along with his own and pulled you close by your shoulder and sat with you. He sighed deeply.
“I know what we have isn’t perfect…” He spoke, staring off into the fire with a soft smile, “But I hope this little family means something to you. I hope you know we all love you very much. You’re an important part of our whole dynamic here. Even if you don’t have anyone else in the world, Y/n,” Phil looked at you, his gaze very tired and serious.
“You’ll always have Dadza.”

hey, so i wrote something but i feel like this is too serieus for wattpad but too bad for AO3 so i’m just going to dump this thing here.  enjoy!
It was an ordinary Sunday afternoon. The three boys and their father were watching a (somewhat childish) movie when suddenly the doorbell rang. As Wilbur, the oldest, was about to open the door, his father, Phil, stopped him: ''You can continue watching the movie, I'll go.'' ''Thanks Dad!" he quickly sat back down next to his twin brother. ''You are welcome, my boy.''
As Phil walked to the door, he was not quite sure who he was expecting. It could not be the mailman since it was Sunday, maybe it was the neighbours who needed sugar again. yeah, that must be it.
So imagine his surprise when he opens the door and sees his old army commander standing in front of him. He'll never forget the way his breath constricted ever so slightly, the way his back straightened and his hand flew to his forehead out of instinct. "K-ommander Simons, good to see you again," he brought out quickly from his already tense throat. "You can stand down, Private Watson, I have come with a message." The single father led the man into his house, gesturing for him to take off his coat and hang it on the hanger. Then the man took off his shoes as well, since Philza himself was not wearing shoes either.
"Sir, would you like to speak to me alone or do you not mind if my children listen in?" the man nodded slightly, saying that he would rather speak to the whole family at once. Philza instructed the man to wait by the door for a moment as there was a blanket fort on the living room floor, snacks littering the salon table and a sixteen year old and two eighteen year olds sprawled on the floor. He just nodded politely and told him not to take too long as he had some really important news.
The moment philza disappeared behind the living room he expelled a breath he did not know he had been holding. that did not bode well, he was a little scared though he would never admit it. He was going to be sent to another war though he was a war veteran retiring at the young age of thirty because his wings had to be amputated and now two black stumps sprouted from his shoulder blades.
His children immediately sensed the tense aura emanating from him and stopped nudging each other to give him a concerned look as he told them to clean up and that his former commander was there. All three of them immediately shot up and started cleaning up, of course they did, none of them had forgotten the day their father had once again fought for their country while they stayed with the Awesome family. The man had come to their door to escort them to the hospital where their father had a large gaping wound on his head, several broken bones and most importantly two amputated wings. they were all afraid that he would have to leave again, they had only had their father back for two years. They were also afraid for his health. They all knew he was suffering from severe ptsd and survivor guilt, hell that was the reason Tommy learned to use his inside voice around phil. their father could not take the loud sounds of crying anymore. He was now going to a weekly appointment with a psychologist.
the room was cleaned up in no time and phil ushered the man waiting at the door inside. he was met by the sight of three boys sitting side by side with messy hair and bright pyjamas covering their frames. he felt guilty, almost, he hated taking fathers away from their families, but on the other hand, if they did not fight, there might not be any family left to return to. that's how he felt, no knew he had to. philza was one of their best men, even if the man had lost his ability to fly now. He can still take out entire divisions with just a sword and his wits. so he knew he was a much needed asset to win the war they had been fighting for years. the same war the now flightless bird had to leave. The commander slowly explained the situation of said war, why he was needed back and when he was to leave. Phil said goodbye to him at the door.
He took a few deep breaths, forcing down rising memories of smoke, gunpowder, the decaying smell of corpses - both friends and enemies. Then he returned to the living room, tears streaming down the faces of all three of his boys. He walked wordlessly over to them. He reached to hug them, but all but Tommy pulled away, Tommy lunging straight into his arms, but the others were silent. He comforted Tommy quietly for a while, but finally motioned for him to lie down on his lap so he could look at the others.
''Are you two okay?``Of course not, they would not see their father for at least 6 months. Wilbur scoffed at the question. ''Do you want to go back?'' Techno asked him in a calm voice. ''No, no I do not. But I have to. They need me.'' ''But we need you too!'' Wilbur yelled. So loud that Tommy, who had fallen asleep in his father's comforting embrace, woke up. Philza flinched harshly at the noise. His mind switched back to the survival mentality he was so familiar with. His eyes became cold and calculating, no longer thinking rationally. His entire mind was filled with the need to get away from the sound. He promptly pushed Tommy off his lap and walked out of the room.
Wilbur knew he had made a mistake, that he should not have yelled. But he was so angry, not necessarily at his father. More at the army, at the political leaders who ran the war, the people who allowed so many men to suffer from the fight they continued.
Tommy just lay there. In the same place he had been when his father pushed him. They were used to this, it happens every time someone yells. It's also why every time there are fireworks, the man is in his room with headphones on to block out the noise. They knew he'd be in the training room, beating his knuckles black and blue with some punching bag.
When it was time for dinner, their father made dinner and acted like nothing ever happened. The boys set the table and took seats at it while Phil put down the pots and pans. ''Look, I know you are angry that I have to leave again. That I have to leave while I am out of the army.'' All three boys looked away from Phil, not wanting to look him in the eye. ''Look me in the eyes, boys.'' All three slowly turned their heads and eyes in his direction. ''I have a gift for you.'' He handed each boy a small necklace with a heart pendant. Each pendant was engraved with the four names of their family members. ''I need to be real with all of you,'' he inhaled sharply and continued. ''I can't promise that I will be able to come back.'' In that sentence, the boy's eyes snapped up from the present to their father. There was an almost pleading look in them. ''What do you mean?" whispered Tommy, sounding like he was about to cry. ''The enemy is strong, very strong. I have seen the things they are capable of. I have seen them torture people. The only reason I am alive now is because I had my wings protecting me. Otherwise, I would be dead right now.'' Tommy was actively crying now. ''I can not promise I'll be back,'' he looked each of his boys in the eye ''but I can promise I'll love you all to the end. I am so proud of the three of you.'' ''We love you too, Dad.'' Wilbur whispered back.
The day Phil had to leave came sooner than they thought, unfortunately. Faster than they wanted it to. He packed the supplies he needed and was now waiting for the plane. The three boys, along with Sam and his sons, George and Quackity, standing next to them, all had tears in their eyes. Phil was dressed in his military suit, holding his armor in a bag in his arms.
''I love you three so much'' were his last words before boarding the plane.
