omg yaya can u plss write a fic where katniss is sick and peeta takes care of her. Make it all fluffy and warm and sweet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sickness and in health. 🥖
I’m a firm believer that petta loves drawing katniss. So I wanted too add that too this mini fic!!
This fic is kinda short so I’m sorry!! But thank you for the request <3
Tw: Sickness, shitty spelling, mention of chopping ???
Peeta was calmly chopping vegetables for the soup he was making for Katniss. He knew she hated being sick for lots of reasons. She hated feeling weak, especially when Snow was watching.
He made her a good, yet simple soup and brought it over with a smile that made even the girl on fire feel safe. She hated how easily he could make her feel that way, but it was also what she adored about him.
“You didn’t have to do this,” Katniss said, looking up at him.
“Yeah, well… I did, so eat up.” He smiled again and sat down next to her.
Katniss hesitated for a moment before taking a spoonful of the soup. It was warm, soothing, and tasted better than she expected. She glanced at Peeta, who was watching her with a soft, unwavering gaze, his hands folded neatly on the table.
“I hate being like this,” she muttered, setting the spoon down. “It feels like Snow wins every time I’m weak.”
Peeta shook his head. “You’re not weak, Katniss. Being sick doesn’t change what you’ve done or who you are. Snow doesn’t win because you have a cold.”
She opened her mouth to argue but stopped. There was something about the way Peeta said it—calm, steady, like he was absolutely sure of it. He always had a way of grounding her, even when her world felt like it was falling apart.
“You make it sound so simple,” she said, her voice quieter now.
“It’s not simple,” he admitted, leaning back in his chair. “But you’ve got me, and I’m not going anywhere. Not for Snow, not for anyone.
Katniss didn’t respond right away. She didn’t need to. Instead, she picked up the spoon and started eating again, her thoughts swirling. The room felt a little warmer, not just from the soup but from Peeta’s presence.
After a few moments of silence, Peeta reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, crumpled piece of paper. “I was going to save this for later, but…” He smoothed it out and slid it across the table to her.
Katniss raised an eyebrow and took the paper, unfolding it carefully. It was a drawing—a simple sketch of her sitting by the fire, wrapped in a blanket, with a faint smile on her face. She recognized the scene immediately; it was from one of the rare quiet nights they’d shared in the Victor’s Village before everything went to hell.
“I thought you could use a reminder,” Peeta said, his voice soft. “That even in the hardest times, you’re still… you.”
Her throat tightened, and she looked at him, unsure of what to say. Instead of speaking, she reached out and took his hand, holding it tightly.
Peeta smiled again, his fingers curling around hers. “Eat your soup, Katniss,” he said gently. “You’ll need your strength for when we fight back.”
And for the first time in days, she felt a spark of hope.

Petta Mellark; Sick comfort
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 901 words
Summary: You're sick and Peeta is there to take care of you
This is an incredibly self-indulgent peice, I'm sick rn and need some Peeta comfort. Its also been a hot minute since I've written something (and finished it) so spare me.
Tumblr media
◦When Peeta found you, you were tucked deeply into your bed with the blankets pulled to your ears. Peeta immediately knew you were not okay. He could tell by the flush on your face and the sheen of sweat on your forehead.
◦He kissed your forehead with the promise of returning back soon. You whined but didn't have the strength to protest. So you simply laid in your bed, trying to get as much rest as one could get with the flu and congestion that made it hard to think.
◦Peeta had mapped out the quickest route from the Everdeen Apothecary to grab some medicine for you,  then down to the Hob. He wasn't a frequent flier at District 12's black market. But he figured you'd want something warm for your empty stomach, and finally made a short stop to his family's bakery to snag some bread to go along with the questionable soup the Greasy Sae had been selling that day.
◦When Peeta returned, he found you asleep. He put the things he had gathered down quietly, and made his way towards your bed. He knelt down, and just like before, he brought his hand to your forehead. He knew there was no way your temperature had gone down in between the time he left and came back.
◦He watched you as you slept for a moment, letting you get as much peace as you could before he had to painfully wake you up. He brushed his hand across your face, his thumb rubbing and caressing your cheek. He knew this wasn't enough to wake you from your sick-induced slumber. But he hoped he wouldn't have to force you awake.
◦But alas, you were far too sleep-deprived and finally fell asleep so there was no chance that gentle touches were going to wake you up. Peeta sighed, taking the hand that was on your face to your shoulder, gently rocking you awake while calling your name sweetly.
◦At first it did nothing, but soon after a couple more shackles you finally started to stir awake. At first, you shook your head, refusing to let the ebbs of sleep fade away. But then you heard a sweet voice calling your name. A thumb brushes across your face.
◦When you opened your eyes you were greeted with a soft smile and gentle touches to your heated skin. “I got you some things,” Peeta said faintly. You grumbled an inaudible Thank you.
◦Peeta coaxed you out of your cocoon of blankets. With you upright, he fed you the medicine and water which you didn't refuse. He gently brought the cup to your lips, at first you did nothing, but once you felt the cool liquid against your lips, you drank it all.
◦Peeta chuckled, brushing away the drops of water that spilled from the corners of your mouth.
◦”M’ sorry,” you mumbeled out, your voice was naisley and sounded funny. Peeta looked at yo usympatheticly.
◦”Why are you sorry?” He asked, taking your hand in his.
◦”Fr being like this,” you whined. You didn't get sick often, thankfully. Living in the Seam you had developed quite a resilient immune system. But when you did get sick, it tended to knock you on your ass. Itd only last for a couple days, but in those couple of days you were bed ridden, head pounding and body aching.
◦”You dont need to apologize,” Peeta said sympatheticly. You had been together for a while, so he knew that anytime you felt less than normal, you felt horrible. Felt weak. You shouldnt have to have other people take care of you. But no matter how many times you feel this way, Peeta will always be there, with his warm hands to comfort you.
◦You just nodded. Feeling to out of it to say anymore. Peeta took a deep breath, ready to take your mind off of being sick and taking care of you. “I also got you some food, if your hungry?”
◦You suddenly realised how hungry you were. The whole body throbbing and head pounding distracted you from the fact you hadnt eaten since mid-day yesterday. You nodded, “Yes. Food please.”
◦At that peeta put a bowl of Greasy Sae’s soup and bread from the bakery. He tried to keep you from wolfing it down almost immediately. With the food and medicin in your system you started to feel better. The fog in your head started to lift and you body seemed to relax.
◦Peeta was laying in the bed with you, your head on his chest, his arm wrapped around your body. With food and medicin in your stomach, you actually felt present, not somewhere distant.
◦”Thank you,” you said into Peeta’s chest.
◦”For?” he asked, his hand tracking up and down your side.
◦”Takeing care of me,” You answered, “For always taking care of me.” You thought about the times where you felt lost and unsure of how you were going to be able to continue living in the Seam. Life was hard, but Peeta always seemed to be there and help you find your way.
◦You lifted your head up, propping your chin on his chest, looking over his face. He still looked like the same bakery boy youd met one wintery day. But he was older, obviously, but he grew out of his pudgie cheeks and short body.
◦”Of course,” Peeta shifted, propping his other arm underneath his head. He was looking all over your face. Remembering the little girl in the Seam, shivering because the cold had weaseled its way into your bones. How he brought you inside, half frozena nd sat you next to the oven which they were baking bread in.
◦He brought the hand he had tracing along your side to push a stray strand of hair from your face. “Always,” he said softly.

Thank you for reading! Maybe these short drabbles will get the creative juices flowing so feel free to request something. I CANNOT promise ill write it. Or if I do, finish it. But maybe it'll help me get out of this writing funk I'm in.

not gonna lie, i like the idea of revan being a sort of surrogate parent figure for the exile, trying both to hitch her up with atton while at the same time falling into the 'overprotective in law' trope with atton
bonus is kreia is just chilling while atton is visibly trying not to panic in front of revan

Hello! I come bearing a fanfiction request.
Can you please do familial fluff with Everlark, like reader is the sister of Peeta and Katniss is learning to warm up to her after everything happened?
I’ve just never seen this dynamic and it sounds really sweet 😭
Meeting for the holidays.🎄
————-
- Cw: A Christmas story, found family, baking, gifts, ptsd. Bad spelling 🤗
I’m sorry this is so long !!! This fic was really fun too write cause it was a bit challenging BUT I LOVE THIS TROPE!!
It was Christmas Day, and you were planning on meeting your brother’s wife… or fiancé? You weren’t entirely sure what their relationship was anymore, given how much of it had been staged for the cameras. Either way, you were determined to make the best of the holiday. Still, a nervous pit lingered in your stomach. Your dad liked Katniss, but your mom? She had always been a bit wary.
“Need any help in here?” Peeta’s voice broke the silence as he entered the kitchen, a bag of flour in hand. He gave you a small, warm smile.
You were about to say yes, mostly because you really could use some help, but your mom’s sharp tone cut you off.
“Peeta, leave her to it,” your mom snapped, glaring in your direction before shooting a pointed look at Peeta. “You’ll only burn something.”
You knew her words weren’t entirely fair. Peeta used to burn the bread on purpose, a small act of rebellion in a life that hadn’t afforded him many choices. Still, your mom’s disapproval hung in the air, thick and heavy.
“It’s okay,” you said quickly, meeting your brother’s eyes with a reassuring smile. “Thanks for the extra flour.”
He nodded, setting the bag down on the counter. “I’ll go check on Katniss, see if they’re still coming.”
“We should have everything ready by the time you get back,” you assured him, kneading the dough with steady hands, the rhythm calming your nerves.
Peeta gave you one last smile before slipping out of the room. You turned your attention back to the task at hand, the quiet of the kitchen interrupted only by the soft crackle of the fire in the other room.
The dough was soft under your hands as you worked it, the faint smell of cinnamon and cloves hanging in the air. You’d been at this since the early morning, determined to make everything perfect. This was the first Christmas since the war ended, and though the scars—physical and emotional—still lingered, you hoped this day could bring some much-needed warmth.
“Do you think they’ll like it?” you asked, breaking the silence.
Your mom paused her work beside you, her hands steady as she arranged the cranberry sauce on a serving dish. “Who, Katniss?” she asked, her voice neutral.
“Yeah,” you admitted. “I don’t really know her. I mean, Peeta talks about her like she’s the best thing that ever happened to him, but… I just don’t want her to feel out of place.”
Your mom’s lips pressed into a thin line. “I’m sure she’ll be fine,” she said curtly, but you could tell from the tightness in her jaw that she wasn’t convinced.
You sighed, not wanting to push the issue. Katniss was a complicated topic in your family. To you, she was a distant figure, someone you’d only seen on TV screens during the Hunger Games broadcasts or fleetingly during her and Peeta’s Victory Tour. To Peeta, she was clearly much more—a partner, an anchor, someone who’d stood by him through unimaginable horrors. But to your mom, Katniss seemed like a reminder of everything Peeta had suffered, everything your family had lost.
The sound of the front door opening snapped you out of your thoughts. You wiped your hands on a dish towel and leaned toward the doorway, trying to catch a glimpse of your brother and his… whatever Katniss was to him.
“Mom, Y/N!” Peeta’s voice called out, and a moment later, he appeared, Katniss trailing behind him. She looked smaller than you expected, her posture stiff and wary. Her dark hair was tucked into a loose braid, and she clutched a modestly wrapped gift in her hands.
“Hi,” you said, offering her a smile.
“Hi,” Katniss replied softly. Her eyes darted around the kitchen as if she were bracing for some kind of attack.
“Katniss, welcome,” your mom said, her tone polite but clipped. She wiped her hands on her apron and nodded toward the table. “Peeta, why don’t you help her put her things down?”
Peeta guided Katniss to the living room, but you noticed the way she hesitated, almost as if she didn’t trust the space around her. It was subtle, but you’d learned to notice the small signs—how someone’s hands twitched when they were nervous, the way their breathing quickened when they were overwhelmed.
“She’s skittish,” your mom muttered under her breath, shaking her head.
“She’s been through a lot,” you replied, your voice firmer than you intended. “We all have.”
Your mom didn’t say anything, but the silence between you spoke volumes. You returned to the dough, hoping the repetitive motion would ease the tension creeping into your chest.
A little while later, Peeta wandered back into the kitchen. “Katniss offered to help,” he said, glancing between you and your mom.
“Sure,” you said quickly, not wanting to make her feel unwelcome.
Peeta left, and a moment later, Katniss stepped into the kitchen, looking uncertain. “Peeta said you needed help,” she said.
“Yeah, you can help me with the cookies,” you said, gesturing to the tray beside you. “They’re just sugar cookies, but I thought we could decorate them later.”
Katniss nodded and moved to the counter, her movements deliberate as she picked up a rolling pin. For a while, the two of you worked in silence, the only sounds the gentle clatter of utensils and the soft hum of the oven.
“You’re good at this,” you said, trying to break the ice.
Katniss gave a small shrug. “Prim used to like baking,” she said quietly. Her voice caught on the mention of her sister’s name, and you felt a pang of guilt for bringing it up.
“I’m sorry,” you said.
She shook her head, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. “It’s okay. She would have liked this.”
Something in her tone softened, and you saw a flicker of the person Peeta always described.
By the time the cookies were in the oven, Katniss seemed more at ease. She even cracked a small smile when you showed her the lopsided snowman you’d made out of leftover dough.
When the cookies were done, Peeta came in to help decorate, his hands steady as he piped intricate patterns onto the icing. Katniss tried her hand at it too, though her designs were simpler—little stars and hearts that still looked beautiful in their own way.
As the evening wore on, the house slowly filled with laughter and warmth. Even your mom seemed to relax a bit, though she still watched Katniss with a critical eye.
When it came time to exchange gifts, Katniss surprised you by handing you a small, carefully wrapped package. Inside was a silver necklace with a delicate charm in the shape of a mockingjay.
“I thought you might like it,” she said, her voice shy but sincere.
“It’s beautiful,” you said, your throat tightening.
For the first time, you saw a hint of a smile that reached her eyes.
