DESTINYTOBER: Day 10 - Dream

"I'm thinking of going back to training as a Techeun," remarked Petra Venj, apropos of nothing, as she dined with Selene in the Gardens of Esila. They sat atop the hunter's cloak, which was spread out as a makeshift picnic blanket beneath the trellis pavilion. 

Surprise crossed Selene's face. "Ah—? Why the renewed interest?" 

"It's never gone away fully. Every day I was trapped in the curse loop, I thought about how badly I'd squandered my talents. How I would have done things differently if I'd known." Idly, she twirled a fallen leaf between her fingers by the stem before letting it drift to the cracked and overgrown marble tile below. "When the Queen decreed an end to Techeun training, I thought I'd missed my chance for good."

Selene nodded.

"But now that the coven is taking trainees again . . ." she trailed off wistfully, picturing herself among them.

"It'll be hard," Selene warned. Petra could have been offended if there had been an implication that because she failed out of training once, she'd do it again. But there was a gentle worry to Selene's voice that sounded less like skepticism of her skills, and more like acknowledgement of the rigor of the program.

"Harder than surviving . . . everything? I feel as though I've grown a hundredfold wiser — and tougher — than I was before Oryx, Uldren, Riven, The Witness."

"Techeuns aren't allowed to want anything . . ." Selene looked down. "Do you think you can handle that?"

Petra grazed the little finger of Selene's hand with her own. "I have everything my heart desires."

Selene's cheeks deepened with purple as she laced fingers with Petra. "I . . .  I'll miss your face," she admitted, still unable to keep eye contact with her. "I mean, your full face, uncovered. I'll miss seeing how your eye crinkles when you laugh, how blue it gets when you cry."

It was Petra's turn to blush. "It's very plain. Nothing special about it. You won't be missing much." 

"It's yours."

" — Nevertheless," she stammered, her cheeks hot enough to glow now, "I don't think the loveliness of my face should supersede a lifelong dream."

"It shouldn't. I'm just worrying about things I ought not to." Selene rolls circles over the joint of Petra's thumb. Looks out across the gardens, toward the Keep, and sighs. "What will the Queen do without her Wrath?" 

"She has you." 

"I'm going to cry if you keep flattering me like this."

"Fact's not flattery. You've done more for her than I have."

"I don't think that's true."

"My point stands that she'll be fine. And so will we." 

Petra leaned in to kiss Selene on the dotted marking of her brow. Selene pressed her head against Petra's, drawing fingertips to the grooved scars of her jawline, and returning the kiss against her cheek.

Guardian: no, listen. The vibe between the two is great. Two people who had an issue, one who wants to try to fix it and one who just now wants to. Crow may be going a bit too hard in his duties to right wrongs, and Petra who is now willing to put forth effort to mend a relationship.

Ghost: Oh. That Vibe

Guardian: Yeah.

Crow, who heard everything: Can you not?

created by the remarkable, incredible, talented, lovely @hibatasblog, petra is hypothetically the curvier counterpart to peter quill (but imo so much better). if you have not read Entanglement (the main petra quill timeline), you MUST. it is one of my comfort fics. baby rocket, fleeing from counterearth, essentially stows away on the eclector and meets young petra and they grow up together. and it’s just. so reparative. these babies. i love them.

and then there’s Casino Royale, which is another petra q timeline. and it is HOT. every chapter is steamy & spicy & droolworthy. rocket and petra meet as adults and get it on and then there’s betrayal and heartache and mystery and regret and im fucken in love. IN LOVE

sidenote id a thousand percent date petra quill.

anyway this is inspired by chapter two of Casino Royale (her skin and hair are dyed since she’s in disguise) but there’s so much that’s golden there so like. please read. give so many kudos and kind comments. (this story has a criminally-low number of kudos seriously)

anyway petra is a delight. she’s sassy and mouthy (just like peter) but she’s very kind, thoughtful, and tender, and i just fuckin love her to be honest. i had so much fun making the sparkly rhinestone-studded lace and the burn discoloration on her boots (jets not currently attached) and honestly i just love her so much

What's that? I made another magical girl AU but this time it's based off both Pretty Cure and Star Guardians a bit? I did.

Anyways in the AU since they go by the name of Guardians and is being currently made into a fanfic (with a comic coming alongside it) and these are their Guardian designs they wear when they transform. So when reading the fanfic please note that these are their designs on what they wear and here are some notes

They all wear high heels with Jesse, Olivia, Petra, Emily, Clutch and Maya wearing heeled boots while Nell wears regular high heels with a pearl anklet

Maya’s uniform is more so a two piece so her midriff/stomach shows entirely

Olivia has goggles and thigh high socks with garters

While Petra and Clutch are missing their brooches the designs are a snowflake for Petra and a cherry blossom for Clutch

The accent fabric is sparkly and translucent

Also note that Nell’s translucent skirt overlay is misaligned and is supposed to cover the right and the seashell accessory goes on the back of her hairstyle

Petra and Maya’s hairstyles change into ponytails while Clutch’s hairstyle changes into half up pigtails

The star hair clips in Em’s design go on her bangs

Jessica’s hairbow holds two pieces of the back of her hair
