My qualifications and hands on experience enable me to be a competent pet sitter

I am currently enrolled at Polytechnic West in Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing part-time. I will be fully qualified by the end of this year. I was recently working part-time at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital as a vet nurse for 18 months. In July 2010, I completed Certificate III in Companion Animal Services. During this course, I have had experience handling dogs through the K9 Day Care service provided on campus. This includes hydro-bathing and dog training. During that time, I completed my work prac at Padbury Veterinary clinic gaining experience in the running of the surgery and also their kennel/cattery service. I am also able to administer any medications with confidence due to my veterinary nursing skills.

During 2010, I had casual employment taking a variety of animals to primary schools and community events for education talks and handling experience. I have been a volunteer at Native Animal Rescue since the beginning of 2009.  I am not currently volunteering time due to study and work commitments. If you are looking for a pet sitter and live in the suburbs of Greenwood, Marmion,  Hamersley, North Beach,  Waterman,  Craigie, Ocean Reef, Edgewater or surrounding suburbs I am really looking forward to meeting you and your pets. A deeply ingrained love of animals makes me a loving pet minder in Perth

  I always had pets growing up, such as cats and dogs, mice and fish, birds and even stick insects.     Our family home backed onto bush land, so as kids, my brother and I were always finding injured birds , stray dogs, dumped kittens and feral cats. All were promptly brought home and cared for along with plenty of pleading to our long suffering parents to keep them. Our home was an absolute menagerie, with existing pets and recuperating visitors....we would have made Dr Doolittle proud:)     I felt then, as I do now, a real connection to my pet friends.     I felt such a personal responsibility for all 'critters', feathered or furry, and quite fancied myself to be just like Ellie-may Clampert from the sitcom "the Beverley Hill Billies", though not as good looking.   That same love and care for animals has continued throughout my adult years. I have been involved with various animal welfare groups, more recently raising funds for RSPCA and Malu Ballai Wildlife Carers.

As my husband and I have no children of our own, our cats , parrots and chooks are our babies, bringing us lots of joy, comic relief, and loads of mess. We call our place "house of guano", but they’re so worth it!   That’s why I enjoy being a pet minder in Perth so much. My friendship with animals now extends to my work life. I have the best job in the world! It doesn’t even feel like work.
