Please don't let a Yorkshire owned theme-park company destroy Loch Lomond. Look, I'm not eloquent enough to break everything down but this application, if put through would see the destruction of one of the most beautiful places in Scotland.

It holds so many precious memories. Wildlife would be affected drastically, tourism of that scale in this area would do more harm than good.

If you are an Australian resident:

There is currently a petition open on the Australian Parliament's government website, calling for a ceasefire and an end to Israel's occupation of Palestine.

After four weeks of collecting signatures, the petition will be directly submitted to the House of Representatives, where a minister will be requested to respond.

As far as petitions go, this one is probably our best option. It is the only way that we, as individuals, are able to directly make requests from the House.

Hi.

I'm going to break my very strict format for once because I need your help. For the past 9 years, the irl human behind this blog has been involved in the effort to save a museum from incompetent and money hungry executives.

The museum is filled with precious objects, telling the story of the history of technology, and how it relates to art and society.

Many of these are objects are large, but delicate and have been in place for over 30 years.

No one within the museum's community trusts the CEO, who was appointed by a hostile former government, and prefers renting out museum spaces for business functions over educating the public.

In a few days, the museum is set to close down for renovations. Yet none of the staff or volunteers have been given any clear details about these plans. All we know is displays which have inspired generations will be torn down, likely never to be restored.

We have a petition asking the new government to step in and stop the closure:

Okay real shit, I know this isn’t my usual content, I don’t care. I need y’all, ESPECIALLY queer, disabled, BIPOC, and/or anyone born a female to genuinely lock in NOW.

Below is a petition that calls for a recount and revote for the 2024 U.S. election. Trump has been suspected of cheating and rigging the election, there have been ballot boxes BURNED, there are people out there who’s votes have NOT been counted.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not American. It doesn’t matter if you can’t vote for any reason. It doesn’t matter if I have the same beliefs as you when it comes to some online discourse or whatever. This is real life, and people’s lives are at stake. The LEAST you can do is share this.

I don’t know how well this petition will work, and I don’t know if my words will fall on deaf ears, but as someone who’s black, queer, born a woman, and more than likely neurodivergent, I feel like I need to have at least some hope and drive left in my body. I REFUSE to go down without a fight and I need all of y’all to do the same.

The entertainment industry, acclaimed for its glamour and stardom, is equally infamous for the enormous pressure it exerts on the mental health of artists. Resultant issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, substance misuse and even suicide are alarmingly high. According to research, performers are 2-3 times more likely to suffer from these issues compared to the general population.

In recent news of Liam Payne's tragic death as many others, the entertainment industry needs to be held accountable and be responsible to the welfare of their artists. We seek to implore lawmakers to create legislation safeguarding the mental health of artists within the industry.

Such a law would necessitate regular mental health check-ups, adequate rest periods, and the presence of mental health professionals on-set, including any ongoing support during their career. It will ensure a healthier, safer, and more conducive working environment for artists to cultivate their talents reducing phycological distress. This would also include early interventions to protect and minimise before it's too late. Furthermore, the increasing rate of musicians who die before the age of 35, is concerning. We need to act now!  

The artist's role is invaluable not just in the world of entertainment but also in society. Let us ensure their protection and wellbeing. Your signature could be a lifeline for these talented individuals, contributing to a larger movement of mental health awareness and care in industries worldwide. Please, sign the petition.
