A good historical comic about Robespierre

I've already talked about the historical comic book collection "Ils ont fait l'histoire" in one of my posts (https://www.tumblr.com/nesiacha/746859397476696064/after-being-critical-about-the-episode-secrets?source=share) , in which some comics were excellent while others were highly debatable. I recommend the one about Robespierre, although short, as it neither falls into the golden legend nor the black legend, with historical advice from none other than the very good historian Hervé Leuwers. When I read it, I was finally relieved to see neither the golden legend (although there is little about Robespierre) nor that of a bloodthirsty man. There are also a few scenes with Charlotte Robespierre, when her narration is (very) debatable ( plus we don't see her argue between her and her brothers, if I remember well, as I read the comical a long time ago). For those familiar with the character, it won't bring anything new. It's worth reading for those interested in the character, especially since there's a mini-biography at the end by Leuwers.

One positive and negative point: Here, instead of focusing on the broken friendship between Robespierre and Desmoulins, although mentioned, there's a discussion about the rift between Pétion and Robespierre. I would have liked to see the rift between Manon Roland and Robespierre as well.

Me channelling that 'Robespierre looked like a cat lapping vineger' comment into the last panel. It might be a while before the next update, I want to do some thorough reading on Brissot to pin down his personality/motivations- if anyone has any book reccs for him, I would welcome them~

I forgot to check the weather before walking to the library!

I had my books in my bag when a HUGH and sudden down pour happened AND NOW MY LIBRARY BOOKS ARE WET

I called my library and I'm like how do I make sure they don't get hurt????????

She walked me through the steps of drying out books and told me how to return them so the librarians will know how to care for them when they get home.

Update: they dried as they needed to and they are healthy enough to be read now ❤️
