Apparently the Sandor Clegane headcanon of the moment is Peter Steele. I get it. For a long time, my headcanon was young Glenn Danzig (but making him about 30 cm taller).

Tuesday’s Gone
Chapter 9: Simple Man
In moments like this, most folk lifted their eyes to the sky and whispered a prayer. Those same idiots claimed that, because the sky was bigger in Texas, God’s blessings were bigger too. Sandor wasn’t an idiot and knew well enough that the sky was just the sky and there wasn’t anyone up there looking after the dumbasses on earth, least of all him.
But just in case anything was listening, Sandor lifted his eyes to the inky darkness and dusting of stars, but it wasn’t a prayer that left his lips as he narrowed his eyes at that great big Texas sky.
“Don’t fuck with me,” Sandor rumbled to whatever was up above and yanked open the door to The Iron Kraken, the only bar in Devil Creek.
Read on AO3!

Game of Thrones Recap: S8E2 - "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms"
Let me get this out of the way up top, I am and have always been a sucker for bottle episodes. While your mileage may vary and I can understand being disappointed if you were expecting more plot than character payoffs, this was everything I could have asked for in a prelude to the devastation we all know is coming. Only one location this week, so let’s get into it.
Winterfell
I don’t know what Jaime thought was going to happen, but the Kingslayer showed up about 19,999 soldiers short on the bill and was immediately hemmed up and brought to trial after arriving in Winterfell like a thief in the night. Daenerys was ready to feed Drogon the man who killed her father (and if he kept pushing it, a side of Tyrion), and Sansa was all too ready to help before Brienne of Tarth stepped in to vouch for him. Finally giving respect to the depths of their relationship, her word was enough for the Lady of Winterfell and Jon, who wants NO smoke between his sister and his love, is just happy to have another hand in the fight. He exits stage left, giving Dany the cold shoulder as soon as she bangs the gavel, ignoring his beloved like he’s 1995 Dumbledore.
Ratbag, slave trader, creepy old pervert Jorah, who for some reason is still hanging around, managed to convince Daenerys to save Tyrion’s head and job as Hand for now and also advised her to have a direct conversation with Sansa instead of ruling by exchanging petty looks. In an overdue change, we’re getting to the point and having characters act like adults instead of talking about each other this season. There is a thawing of relations, as the two powerful leaders find common ground and Sansa explains that her standoffish nature is less about Dany specifically and more about ensuring the protection of her people.
She knows men do stupid things in love (and out of love) and while the Dragon must have three heads, Sansa wants to make sure her people are protected should Jon make decisions with the wrong one. She apologizes for the lack of formalities last episode, but isn’t here for the kiki and wants to know what will happen to the North after the battle with the dead. Dany is as non-committal as Stevie J, but her answer is cut short by the arrival of Theon back in Winterfell. I didn’t like the looks Sansa and Theon were exchanging here, but hopefully it’s just the bonds of friendship and not a more romantic suggestion. I have never seen it for Theon, his redemption arc, shipping him with anyone other than death, or as a staff, record label, and a MFing crew and I’m not about to start now.
The Night’s Watch and Brotherhood Without Banners holdouts (primarily Tormund and Dolorous Edd) made their way to Winterfell from the disaster with the Umbers at Last Hearth less than a day ahead of the army of the Dead. With all the expected players finally assembled, the armies of the living try to come up with some sort of strategy, and their plan centers around setting up Bran as bait to get the Night King in the open. For the first time we begin to get some sense of what the White Walkers may actually want, and chief among that is killing Bran as the holder of living memory. Theon volunteers to guard him, which means he’s as good as dead, but no great loss there. Breaking up the war council, Jon avoids Dany again, still having not told her about being first in line for the throne.
After experiencing even more microaggressions, Missandei and Grey Worm realize they’ll never be welcomed in Westeros, and being disgusted with the racism, make plans to retire somewhere warm and safe when this is all over. Which means they’re going to die. BUT THEY’D BETTER NOT! I need someone to rescue them and fly them to Wakanda. By the old Gods and the new.
GHOST BYKE! They finally remembered Jon’s closest companion and friend was not one of the direwolves they needlessly killed, as Winterfell is transformed to the Wall South. We see Jon, Edd, and Sam once again as the Watchers on the Wall, this time atop the Starks’ castle, reflecting on all they’ve seen and mourning their fallen brothers Grenn and Pyp. Inside, Jaime and Tyrion are also going down memory lane, which turns into a fireside chat joined by Brienne, Podrick (who Neville Longbottom’d ALL the way up), Tormund, and Davos. Tormund tries to measure his dick against Jaime and teaches the children about the virtues of calcium.
Trading war stories and all this unlikely group have survived to this point, Tormund — ever the feminist — is disgusted that Brienne is not yet a knight. After she downplays how much the honor would mean to her, Jaime realizes it’s past due and as an anointed knight himself, commands Brienne to kneel as he confers the honor upon her. There’s a touching bit of hesitation on her part, as a woman who has been taunted all her life has to pause to see if this is just another mockery, but in a stirring and surprisingly intimate scene, she finally attains her lifelong goal. Which, unfortunately, means she’s also going to die.
Atop the walls, the Hound and Arya are having another one of their stilted, yet loving conversations, during which Sandor Clegane admits fighting for her changed him. However, being interrupted by Lord Beric reminds Arya there’s somewhere she’d rather be and goes to find Gendry. After stalking her prey and realizing Gendry is here for her murderous ways and still as fine as ever, she drops all pretense and asks his body count as she starts stripping, deciding she wants to celebrate Easter Sunday by hopping on that boy right there in the forge. Our little baby psychopath is all grown up and made good on six years of lust.
Outside, Lady Lyanna Mormont read her cousin Jorah for filth for even fixing his mouth to tell her anything. Unfortunately, the scene did NOT end with her banishing him from the North and our sight, but with Sam rewarding the worthless weasel with the Tarly family’s Valyrian steel sword “Heartsbane” in memory of Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. Back at the fire, Podrick channels his inner Pippin from Lord of the Rings and uses his gifted pipe, er…pipes to sing on the verge of battle. As we see a montage of loving couples (and Sansa x Theon) spending their last night together, we end with Daenerys finally walking up on Jon in the crypts as he stares at his mother’s statue. Jon finally tells her the truth about Rhaegar and Lyanna, and by extension, himself. Instantly, the love leaves Dany’s eyes and she looks at Jon now as a threat and rival, growing colder than the winter outside. Before they can finish their conversation however, they are interrupted by horn blasts. The dead are here. It’s. About. To. Go. DOWN!
With next week’s “Battle of Winterfell” bearing constant comparisons to the Battle of Helm’s Deep in Peter Jackson’s The Two Towers, it’s interesting that this episode should share so much in common tonally with The Return of the King: a kingdom on the edge of war, awaiting its inevitable destruction before the dawnless day. The episode posits that life is intrinsically linked to memory and history. What better way to spend a last night with the forces of the living than by reminiscing. The last enemy that must be defeated is death, but the battle is not lost as long as the memory of what was lost is preserved.
Book-Specific Notes: I try to keep theories and predictions (at least those informed by the text) separate for the particularly spoiler-averse, so read on at your own discretion. The choice to use Jenny of Oldstones for Podrick to sing before the battle was potentially telling. For a refresher, this is also the song that Tom of Sevenstreams sings as payment to the Ghost of High Heart for her visions. The song laments the Tragedy of Summerhall, which saw the death of several legendary figures, but was also the night Jon’s father (and Daenerys’s brother) Rhaegar Targaryen was born. The Jenny of the song is the wife of Duncan Targaryen, who gave up his claim to succession and chance to rule the Iron Throne out of love. It's also strongly hinted that the Ghost of High Heart is the same witch who made the prophecy that The Prince That Was Promised would come from that specific Targaryen lineage.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say the show is tipping its hand yet, but there are a number of interesting parallels. But also, the lyrics might spell trouble for those that we saw in the montage as Pod sang:
High in the halls of the kings who are gone Jenny would dance with her ghosts. The ones she had lost and the ones she had found And the ones who had loved her the most.

A SORT OF XMEN INSPIRED G.O.T. CROSSOVER THAT NO ONE ASKED FOR
Tumblr media
One of my fanfic ideas from the SanSan closet. There’s really no dialogue, just a fanfic idea I had (for this fanfic I picture Peter Steele as Sandor), modern AU, maybe slight DubCon for a bit of mind manipulation.
A Peek at the story idea:
Sansa journeys to Kings Landing to join the secluded academy The Red Keep after she cannot restrain the strange dreams and powers plaguing her since she was a child. She is an Empath. She senses people’s distress and it all becomes a little too much for her to handle on her own especially those dreams of the Strange Man which leaves her weak and gasping from the sheer rage in them…
Excerpt:
In the rank depths of Flea Bottom annexing the glamourous and pristine city of Kings Landing, a secret meeting took place. In the dimness of the room, the Head Master of the Red Keep made a deal with the Stranger.
He would not be apprehended by the Red Keep Guard if he would turn away from his ragtag human gang and work under cover for the Red Keep. The Stranger was not amused. And he was in a particularly beatific rage since the Red Keep special retrieval team had brought him in.
Until the Keep’s Headmaster said he had her.
After that, the Stranger listened…
~
One week later
Sansa cautiously made her way down the winding corridor to the Head Master’s office.
Margaery had given her the heads up that the Head Master wanted her to power practice on a new Red Keep recruit. It’d been a while since Sansa had a power practice session and she was looking forward to the distraction it would give her from her obsessive contemplation on whether her Strange Man existed or not. She’d been having the dreams for as long as she could remember. It was what made her come to the Red Keep in the first place despite her parents’ caution. The old fashioned Northerners her family was did not totally trust the Red Keep, only known to those families with gifts, to keep their innocent tall little girl safe..
But after the first few rough months and despite the antagonism she’d faced from Cersei, the resident Red Keep queen bee who resented Sansa for becoming the Head Master’s favourite student, she had grown to like it here.
Except that the dreams hadn’t stopped.
The memory of the latest dream, just last night, assailed her again. She’d had yet another dream of the Strange Man, a dream filled with his anger and pain.
The Strange Man’s startling grey eye had been so clear, almost like silvered glass, his gaze piercing and sharp as if his rage was something that could leap out of his eyes and cut her. But the moment she reached out and touched his face as she always inevitably did, she felt that strong current of rage within him ebb away.
The moment she felt the warmth of his chiselled cheek, she’d wake up, hot and shivering under her heap of blankets.
Despite the confusing whirl of pain she felt whenever she dreamed of him, the idea that the Strange Man might be a figment of her imagination depressed her. Somehow the dreams, which had first affected her like nightmares, became something familiar that she had grown to expect. Like her favourite pair of pajamas she’d slip over her skin at night, she had begun to take a certain comfort in the dreams. She didn’t understand it. There was no doubt that she was using her power of calm in the dream, she was soothing the Strange Man in the only way she knew how but then why did she feel reassured as well?
Taking a deep breath, she came to a stop before the heavy gilded door that led to the Head Master’s suite of offices. She dismissed all memories of the dream and cautiously knocked.
The Head Master summoned her in.
As soon as she walked into the spacious office, she saw him.
Her dreams dissolved around her like torn bits of burned paper fluttering in the wind, the black and white static of those dreams in no way preparing her for the full Technicolor, thumping decibel of the Strange Man in the flesh.
In her dreams, she’d always seen his eyes but never the entirety of him.
The Strange Man wore a fierce frown and she could see only one of his silver eyes blazing down at her because one side of his face was half hidden behind the dark tangle of hair that skimmed down to his broad shoulders.
Sansa decided that he was at once the most beautiful and ugliest being she’d ever seen.
The giant man looming before her was the sculpted towering statue of the Warrior brought to life but it was the hate that shone bright in his silver eyes that made him ugly.
She could barely hear the Head Master’s banter as he introduced her to the Red Keep’s newest recruit. All she heard was his name.
Sandor Clegane was the Strange Man’s name
Sandor.
Despite encountering his rage in her dreams, she still did not feel prepared to face it, face him, in all his terrifying reality. He took a step towards her and it was only then she realized how much she had to crane her neck up to look at him.
She’d never had to do that before. To her everlasting chagrin, she’d always been taller than almost every male she’d encountered.
The Strange Man, well Sandor, looked her up and down, his frown etched even deeper now.
“Hope you’ve been warned, girl. You’ve got your bluidy work cut out for you. Think you can calm a killer?”
Sansa was startled at the deep sense of disappointment she felt when she realized he had no knowledge of their shared dreams.
Looking at the harsh skepticism displayed on the visible side of his face, she knew he wasn’t aware of the countless times she’d reached across time and space to do just that. To calm his rage.
A killer he said.
Despite the flutter of shock she felt, Sansa decided she would show him that he could not intimidate her, she would not let his festering anger deter her from what she did best.
“I’ve worked with killers before, sir.”
Many times during her training, she had been required to power practice on hardened criminals in the Black Cells, under heavy guard of course. None of tem had shown her as much resentment as this man did.
He doesn’t know of the dreams, she reminded herself as the Head Master directed them to sit opposite each other, only a narrow desk between them that was dwarfed by his large frame.
Sandor glared at her for a long moment and she unflinchingly met his stare until with a rather slow deliberate movement of one large hand, he moved the pitch-dark tangle of hair off his cheek and jaw.
Her mouth went dry as he revealed the gruesome scarring covering most of the right side of his face. The knotted flesh was pitted and gnarled and as vivid as a raw red wound.
He seemed to take a savage satisfaction in her horror, his slow smirk not revealing the pain she could sense brimming within him.
Tears stung and blurred her vision as she thought of the physical torment he must have endured to survive such a scar but she made every effort to blink them away. She averted her eyes, fearing she was staring too hard at his disfigurement then watched as he reached across the desk and held out huge callused hands towards her.
Even as he extended his palms, marked with scars different than those that covered his face, she could sense the mockery in him, just as Cersei and her entourage had mocked her when she first came to the Red Keep.
He fully expected her to flee, expected her to evade his touch.
Sansa reached out and took his hands in hers.
She felt his jolt of surprise and then her palms were drowned under the heaviness of his and that blast of fiery rage hit her again, even more intense than the dreams and there was turmoil there too and fear.
And there was also the effect of his flesh on hers, his hands in hers, the feel of his warm skin sent a jolt of her own through her as if her heart had stopped beating and then her entire body shocked back to life.
He didn’t really want to touch her!
No one had ever been so unwilling to touch her, not even Cersei who had succumbed to the calming power of her touch during one of her earlier power practices.
Sandor fought against her, fought like a drowning man against the current of her empathy. She cried out at the power of his rage beating against her.
He tore his hands out of her grasp, slamming to his feet with such violence that the heavy chairs the Head Master used in his office tumbled over like a light toy in his wake.
The Head Master leapt to his feet as fast as he could as well, moving immediately to stand beside him, a meaty hand on the towering man’s arm, whispering something fiercely that Sansa couldn’t hear. Sansa could only stare at how incongruous the Head Master of the Red Keep looked standing next to this giant.
Sandor.
As she sat there inhaling gulps of air, recovering from her tumultuous interaction with the giant man, she found it surreal that she now knew the name of the stranger who had been haunting her dreams for so long.
The giant man sat before her once again while the Head Master reclaimed his seat a few feet away. In an uncharacteristic gentle tone, he encouraged her to resume her power practice. Sansa glanced at the headmaster. He had always been kind to her where more often than not, he was blunt and no-nonsense with the rest of the Red Keep alumni.
With some caution, she glanced at him.
Sandor had cast his scars under their curtain of dark strands again, head bowed, hands laid out like an offering on the table between them but Sansa could sense that resentment again and how unwilling he was. She’d never had an unwilling participant in her practice before but the Head Master nodded encouragingly.
Taking a fortifying breath, she reached for Sandor’s fingers again. So warm. And then there was that jolt as their skin touched.
His hands were long, large and sturdy like he was. She could see the darker sheen of sweat on his massive chest under his simple dark green t-shirt even though the room was conditioned with cooling vents that kept the heat of Kings Landing at bay.
Sansa mentally prepared herself to feel his rage again, pulling at her inner reserves of calm to counteract his anger but to her utter surprise, she felt nothing as she held his hands.
That had never happened before.
It was then she realized with some shock that he had blocked her out. She had encountered mind blocks before in her power practice but she had always managed to weave her way around them. Like with Cersei. At first she’d blocked Sansa out quite willfully but she had overcome her block almost immediately.
No such luck with Sandor.
No matter how she tried, despite all the practice she’d had at surmounting blocks, she couldn’t get through to him. She closed her eyes tight in concentration feeling the burn of his gaze on her and the burn of his anger roiling in her mind.
An anger she couldn’t diffuse as she usually did! She did not like that for the first time since coming to the Red Keep that her power had failed. She’d taken more pride than she’d thought in how powerful her calming influence was. Her empathy had reached out to even the most stubborn of the Red Keep alumni. Even to the cruelest of the Black Cells prisoners!
Suddenly, she felt the caress of his fingertips against the sensitive underside of her palm. At first, she valiantly tried to ignore the tingles his caresses produced, tried to concentrate only on getting past his block. But then the caresses increased and he started making little circles that she could feel in other places besides her hands. Her eyes flew open. He was peering at her under the fall of his dark hair, icy eyes heated now.
Sansa was immediately flustered, breath caught in her throat until she saw that mocking smirk tilting one side of his unscarred lips not hidden by his hair. She was about to tell him to stop at once when the first sensations hit her.
Every erotic thought, every lewd desire he had ever had, that he ever sated, Sandor sent her way. To her complete and utter embarrassment, Sansa couldn’t contain her moan. She shifted against her seat, trying to fight him off now but he just kept pushing…
The Head Master intervened, moving to pull her hands from Sandor’s except Sansa shook her head violently. “No!”
She wasn’t going to allow Sandor to scare her away like some untried little girl. Sansa had advanced too much in her power to calm, had struggled too hard to prove herself amidst the unforgiving Red Keep alumni to be thrown into chaos by a new recruit...

5 Best & Worst Episodes Of Game Of Thrones (According To IMDb)
HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones premiered in 2011 and ran for a total of eight seasons. The series has won dozens of Primetime Emmy Awards in the past eight years, with cast members like Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau bring praised for their performances.
Related: Game Of Thrones: 10 Hidden Details You Missed In The Episode Battle Of The Bastards
The show was off the air for nearly two years between season seven and eight; unfortunately, when the show returned, it received lackluster to downright scathing reviews. At one point, the series had never dipped below an 8.0 on IMDb, but even with Season 8's underwhelming reception, the series still has a total score of 9.4 on the website. Here are the five best and worst episodes of Game Of Thrones (according to IMDb).
10 Best: “The Spoils Of War”-9.8
Tumblr media
“The Spoils of War” sees the Lannister army transporting goods and money after they take Highgarden. On the way back to King’s Landing, they are attacked by 100,000 Dothraki soldiers, but that is the least of their worries as Drogon comes from the sky.
The Lannister and Tarly soldiers are incinerated by Drogon, but Daenerys’ dragon is hurt as Bronn was able to hit him with a scorpion bolt in the shoulder. Jaime sees an opportunity to kill Daenerys but as he approaches, Drogon gets ready to breathe fire. Bronn comes just in time to tackle him off the horse, but then Jaime sinks into the river as the episode ends.
9 Worst: “Winterfell”- 7.6
Tumblr media
Fans waited almost two years, but when Season 8 was finally released, the opening episode ("Winterfell") was just okay. The episode mainly sets up the rest of the season and reunites various characters, including Arya with Jon and Sansa with Tyrion.
This episode also sees Bronn getting the task of killing Tyrion and Jaime, but it isn’t known whether he will complete it or not. Jon also rides one of Daenery’s dragons this episode, which he is able to do easily since he is a Targaryen. At the end of the episode, Ned Umber is seen hung on a wall with a mysterious spiral as he becomes a wight.
8 Best: “ The Rains Of Castamere- 9.9
Tumblr media
This episode continues the storylines of Jon, Samwell, Gilly, and Daenerys, but the real reason this episode got a 9.9 is because of the last 10 minutes of the show. After Robb Stark and his army arrive at the Twins, he apologizes to Walder Frey and his daughters for not keeping his promise before Edmure Tully meets his bride, Roslin Frey.
Catelyn notices that the banquet hall doors are closed and hears "The Rains of Castamere," but only knows for sure they are in a trap when she sees that Roose Bolton is wearing mail. Catelyn tries to warn Robb, but Lothar Frey stabs the pregnant Talisa and Robb is shot with a crossbow. Roose Bolton then finishes off Rob and after watching her son die, Catelyn doesn’t put up a fight when Black Walder slits her throat.
7 Worst: “The Long Night”- 7.5
Tumblr media
While the first two episodes of season 8 were setting up the rest of the season, “ The Long Night” was the first episode to really be heavily criticized. This episode was supposed to be one of the biggest episodes of the series, with the living battling the undead.
Related: Game Of Thrones: 10 Hidden Details About The Costumes You Didn't Notice
Many people complained that the episode was literally too dark to see anything, but the ending was also heavily criticized. Some people didn’t think Arya should have been the one to kill the Night King, while others simply thought the way the Night King was killed was anti-climactic.
6 Best: “Hardhome”- 9.9
Tumblr media
“Hardhome” shows Tyrion joining forces with Cersei, Arya continuing her training with the Faceless Man, and Sansa begging Theon to help her escape Ramsay’s grasp, but the real action is with Jon Snow’s storyline. After Jon convinced Tormund to join forces with him, they travel to Hardhome to get the rest of the wildlings on their side. As the group is gathering dragonglass daggers, a hoard of white walkers begins attacking the village.
While the Night King watches from a distance, one of his soldiers battles Jon. Jon realizes that Valyrian Steel is just as deadly as dragonglass and is able to shatter the white walker into pieces. The episode ends with the Night King raising his arms as all of the dead wildlings stand back up as wights.
5 Worst: “The Bells”- 6.1
Tumblr media
“The Bells” is the episode where Daenerys officially turns into the Mad Queen.  A vengeful Daenerys wants to storm King’s Landing and burn through anyone who gets in her way, but Tyrion convinces her to cease the attack if Cersei’s followers surrender and ring the city bells. Proving to be a pointless defense, the Golden Company is obliterated by Drogon as Daenerys burns the city.
The civilians eventually surrender and ring the bells, but Daenerys’ hatred takes over and she burns the entire city down anyway. Gregor and Sandor Clegane fight to the death while Jaime reunites with Cersei. Tyrion had set Jaime free to go rescue Cersei, but their escape route becomes blocked by debris. Realizing there is no escape, the siblings and lovers embrace as their city crushes them to death.
4 Best: “The Winds of Winter”- 9.9
Tumblr media
The Season 6 finale is also one of the best-rated episodes in the series with a rating of a 9.9. 1 Worst: “The Iron Throne”- 4.2
Tumblr media
The worst-rated episode by a long shot is the series finale titled "The Iron Throne." After rushing through the storyline for the Night King and Cersei, it was time to rush through Daenerys' character arc. The previous episode set her up as the Mad Queen and “The Iron Throne” focuses on the aftermath of the battle at King’s Landing.
The episode shows Tyrion getting arrested and Jon confronting Daenerys. Just when Daenerys thinks she has Jon on her side, he stabs her in the heart. Jon is then confronted by Drogon, who instead of killing Jon, melts the Iron Throne. The series ends with Jon being banished back to the Night’s Watch and Bron becoming the Lord of the Six Kingdoms, which is not exactly an ending that many hoped for.
