“How different, I wonder~?” The Novelist did hear the man’s reminder though, right? Eta might distant themself but juuuuuust a bit. Not that they’d tell anyway. “So how long have you’ve been in a relationship? What are your most memorable moments?” They’re probably just asking that to get ideas for their writing.
“That’s for me to know and you to find out.” He said simply as, slowly, a shape on the horizon grew, as well as a city a bit further. “You know how I said I wanted you to keep some distance?” He asked. “This is some of the distance I was talking about.” He poked her in the forehead.

“Ah, love. And cherry trees are indeed one of the most romantic places~” Eta began imagining that scene. “Yes, take me there. I would like to see how you and your darling express your feelings to each other~” They… do know what personal space is, right?
He looked at her. “This is a bit different than most.” He said. “And can ya give me and the princess a lil space? Don’t get too close to me.” He said with a slightly worried tone, although he wasn’t very worried.

“It always comes back to this with you, doesn’t it?”
“Why can’t you just learn to let the fuck go.”
“Did it over occur to you that I never wanted this to begin with?”
“Why can’t you just look at me for one god damn second!”
“Let go of my hand.”
“I don’t want to talk to you right now.”
“Why are you — saying all these things —”
“You know what? I was wrong. You never really meant anything to me. You’re broken, you’re beyond fixing, you’re not something I want to take the time to handle. Simple as that.”
“You’re a god damn mistake, that’s what you are.”
“I never wanted anything to do with you to begin with.”
“This, us, was a fucking mistake and I should have known the second things went further than planned.”
“I can’t do this anymore.”
“I don’t want anything to do with you anymore.”
“If anything, you were a fucking waste of time.”
“I just don’t feel anything anymore.”
“Looking at you I see nothing but something I need to put an end to.”
“Oh? Really? You thought we had a future? What gave you that idea.”
“Is this even going anywhere?”
“Why can’t we just talk about it —”
“Does it ever occur to you that I am done talking? That I am done with reflecting upon my words and action? Can’t you just take a fucking hint that I’m done with you? I don’t want anything to do with you anymore.”
“We’re through. I don’t want to do this anymore.”
“You were broken to begin with.”
“How am I supposed to ‘love you’ when I never had feelings to being with.”
“Haha, I don’t know who gave you THAT idea, but we’re not an item. We never were.”
“I’d like for you to leave now.”
“Just get out. Get out and leave me alone.”
“Why are you — saying all these things??? Where did they come from???”
“If you never were happy to begin with, how come you never told me?! I would have listened, I would have helped —”
“I don’t need, or want help, what I want is for you to get the fuck away from me.”
“You’re damaged goods and I can’t find the patience to take on you as a project.”
“You’re the kind of crazy I don’t want to deal with.”
“Lately you’ve become a burden, and I can’t handle it anymore.”
“If you’d just leave me alone, that’d be great.”
“Oh come on, the second we got to know each other, the due date were already set on us. We were never meant to last forever. Our relationship had a deadline, and now we’re at it; so, what you gonna do?”
“This is all on you.”
“Save your tears. I’m done here.”

“I am a Novelist so it’s obviously the latter,” a teasing chuckle escaped from their lips as they would then take a pause, considering a few options mentioned. “What do I get when we get to this town? I hope it wouldn’t be too bland for my writing, hm~”
“TO be honest? I mostly want a meal, a quick talk with my father, and then... We’ll head to the giant cherry tree where my girlfriend is.” He said. “So that’ll probably satisfy you. Giant cherry tree is something.”

“I would say we are more like… acquaintances,” Eta ought to correct that part though it was their point of view. Not that they’d care much if they were despised anyway. “Regardless, you are my tour guide, right? Please do recommend me a place to visit. I doubt you want us to stay here, hm?”
“No. At the minimum I’d like you to get to town.” He said rubbing his chin. “But it’d be easiest if we went to my landship. Then, it might be a slight challenge, but we could get around most places easy enough.” He paused. “Are you a fighter or a writer?”

“I did. He would often tell me to do my job which I am. I would say we have… different points of view~” was the Novelist’s whimsical response as they shrugged. That sounded like these two aren’t in good terms. “Maybe he did went there at some point? While I would like to find out as well, I’m afraid I can’t just get close to him without, as he would quote it, valid reasons~”
He blinked. “Sounds like a great time.” HE said adjusting the brim of his hat. “But hey, what can ya do. Sometimes co-workers are a bit wild.” He chuckled. “Still, things are nuts.” HE glanced. “Well I can get ya anywhere given enough time... Where do you wanna go first?”

“I see. What a shame,” they muttered, shrugging off the idea of transportation to another world. “In a sense, yes, He is known as the Observant of Dimensions, one who watches over the flow of dimensions or so as what I’ve been told about. He is quite a closet person though if I would say so myself.” It didn’t seem like they were bothered mentioning it.
He nodded. “Neat.” He said more than a bit lost. The idea sounded silly. Imagine someone observed his dimension. Bah. “Sounds like you’ve met him. Maybe he can explain this sometime. Its a mess of a place for sure.” He chuckled. “People pop in from other worlds all the time. Maybe he’s been by.”

“Really? Why can I not meet her with you around?” It’s not like because the said person is possibly in a different world right now, is it? “Do the ships in this world not capable of transporting to those worlds? While I am capable to travelling through portals, it is only limited between the mortal plane and the underworld. It makes me a little jealous of the Observant who is more capable in that aspect…”
“It can do it... BUt I don’t know how. The portal doesn’t work very well.” He said. “And at the moment I don’t have the coordinates.” He blinked. “Observant? What’s that?” He asked. “Some sorta... Watcher?”

“Split the world? Do you mean like a separate world?” it intrigued the Novelist more, thinking of probably adding that as a plot in their next work. “Will I ever get a chance to meet her as well? I’d like to know more about this world. Ah, it excites me~”
“There were a few worlds. Formido Heim, Kagura Amehura, and all those other places were their own world.” He said. “Again, I think it was them. It... Its weird. And... Who do you wanna meet exactly? If you wanted to meet the einst girl... You won’t meet her by being around me, she’s... Wherever she is now. Uh... New AD world was how she described it.”

“Another universe, hm? Perhaps the Observant is more fit to this line of work,” uttered Eta to themself before returning their attention back to Haken. "What did that Einst do, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“In brief?” He asked. “A ton. Here they... Split the realm, somehow, impersonated people, made wars, and all those things.” He said. “Supposedly they did similar things, but never split the world apart like they did here.”

misfitsofmultiverse:
Eta might beg to differ but it’s more likely just that their point of view is… completely different. To them, happy endings are boring unless the protagonists went through the most tragic events anyone could hardly imagine. That includes getting themselves almost killed.
“Humans really fear death, don’t they? Nevertheless, I digress. About these species you refer as Einst, you mean to say they are also created?” The Novelist might relate themself to that somehow.
He paused. “I dunno. They were... Around and did things? Um... I’m not 100% sure what they did. I met a... Uh... Another einst later. And she made things more confusing.” He sighed. “Apparently they’re from another universe, but more than that I can’t tell you very well.”

misfitsofmultiverse:
“Hm? And why is that?” the Novelist was more intrigued, not caring much if those high-ranked officers could be heartless tyrants. “Well, happy ending end quickly. They are rather… bland if not going through long hardships. Even deemed death as bad ending while it is merely another state of being.” That is at least what Eta believed.
“Though you speak from experience, I see. What about these species you speak of?”
“People like things to wrap up nicely, its nice for them.” He said. “And... Uh... I’m not sure. there was a species, called the Einst who came here. They did some... Stuff. I only still sorta get it. But there were clones and they were... Sorta tentacle... Things.” He said trying to explain, poorly.

“Ah, how tragic it gives me chills~” the Novelist seemed to be embracing themself for a moment. “I would say I simply adore the stories they behold. Like one has to sacrifice his life for his beloved. Or two lovers who had sworn they will never be separated even in death. Aren’t such stories more interesting than the bland ones having what they call happy ending?”
“I feel as though you’d be disappointed if you met some of their higher ranked officers.” He said scratching his chin. “And there’s nothing wrong with happy endings. They’re nice to live through.” He said somewhat recognizing he had one himself. “Admittedly... To get it I may have had to kill a whole species.” That was... Vague still.
