Scoria and Sakura are best friends! It's so cute when I see the things they do together, and it makes me so beyond happy that they both came to live with me so that they could share their lives with each other. They absolutely insist on it, and does so much good for the other.

I can't imagine how else they could have found happiness if things hadn't worked out exactly as they did. Scoria has basically been Sakura's "emotional support snake" while she worked through things from her past I'll never fully know that caused her a lot of issues with panic and fear. Sakura knows this too, and looks out for her sister, the only one she truly trusts and feels completely safe with.

The moment they wake up they both want each other to snuggle and play with. Scoria loves to be affectionate with both me and her sister who seems to have not had this earlier in her life- but Scoria is showing her how nice it is not only directly but demonstrating with me and Sakura also trying, copying what she has seen her sister do.

Sometimes when one goes to check on the other they'll join in on... I'm not even sure what they were doing. But they had a good time while taking a mandated union break from digging tunnels for the isopods.

So happy I get to share in the adventures of these two best friends! It makes me so happy to see them living their best lives together, and being beyond content snuggled together with their found family.

#cute #pets #snakes #friends #animals #I think Sakura tried copying Scoria and didn't quite get the full memo #So she went down the front bark and Scoria went down the back which leads into diggy dirt #And Sakura was like #“I followed friend into bark but where is friend???”#Meanwhile Scoria was probably oblivious her little sister was trying to find her & she may was well have her front half going into a portal #Eventually they found each other fully #And were very clear they prefer their home far more than this enclosure they helped build tunnels for #I'm glad to know they like their home #While I do want to make it more aesthetically pleasing #the current focus was filling it with things they enjoy #Specifically things they have a lot of fun playing with or on #I want their home to be the place they feel safe but also enjoy being in #not a prison #a bedroom #I think they like their enclosure but they sometimes don't want to go in it because they also really enjoy spending time with me #Scoria really does #but also communicates effectively when she is sleepy from playing and needs to rest #as much as they love each other when they go to sleep for the night they sleep alone #even with the option to stay near each other #I think this is nature rather than something I taught them by separating them into their own enclosures after play time #which makes me wonder if humans classified them as solitary just because they don't want room mates #like plenty of people i know choose to live alone but that doesn't mean they are introverts/solitary #I wonder if wild hoggies sleep alone (not counting brumation) and their social lives outside their den was completely ignored #Like I bet they live in a neighborhood or kingdom or whatever you want to call it #The fact they can communicate“I'm friendly let's be nice to each other”indicates a species that regularly comes into contact with each other

“Come Home Safe” Spell Jar

Components

Small jar with cork

Black salt (protection)

Cloves (luck)

Rosemary (protection)

Black pepper (speedy work)

Paper with intentions

White candle (protection and attraction)

Brown yarn (bringing them home, comfort)

Process

Cleanse components.

Layer in salt then herbs.

Add paper with intentions.

Cork jar.

Wrap brown string around jar and add intentions with knotwork.

Seal jar with wax. Optionally burn candle down on top of it while adding energy.

Place jar near door or window lost person/pet is most likely to use/be near.

So our cat got out recently, and as we were out physically looking for her and doing all the necessary mundane steps, I made this to try and attract her home and keep her safe while she was out. I prayed to St. Anthony (patron of lost things) and St. Francis (patron of animals). I also made appeals to Cernunnos to protect her.

She came home within two days, and we managed to get her back inside, no worse for wear (our poor dog was, though - he tried to chase her and got a scratched ear for it).

Ask the librarian subreddit about getting my degree online and the responses were not encouraging to put it simply😭 other reddit posts asking have better comments? It’s different everywhere I look girl I just want to be a librarian why is life so hard😭

#I’m pretty locked in on librarian path so doesn’t matter😭#I actually really would love to be one it’s just the process is hard #I have to get my masters online because the closest colleges that offer masters in library science are at least an hour away and you need #your masters to be a librarian #like not an if you need it #some programs are only a year but most are like a year and a half so likely will still be in school and at home until 2026/2027 at quickest #I don’t have to work in a library there’s lots of places that have libraries but all of them need a degree #it’s just the most realistic job path for me where I can make a living and also be sane #not amazing pay but enough to be stable after a few years #the dream would be working in a museum and I saw one person say they got their degree in library science and now work in a museum so nothing #is really set in stone yet #idk #slowly dawning on me that now I’m like an official adult like college is still like a medium but now I’m a big girl #it’s scary and I feel like every time I read anything about the job market it’s bad #literally my only goal is to be able to move out and rent a one bedroom apartment in a relatively safe town that allows pets that’s the #dream #I am happy but scared #rae’s rambles

I almost missed a mandatory class today because a kitten kept following me and I was scared it was gonna follow me into the train

#nana talks #it was so adorable it saw me started meowing and when I pet it it did that little jumping against your hand thing #after I played with the random kitten on the street for 10 minutes I was like ok I'm gonna be late for my train so I need to go #so I waved to the kitten but it literally kept following me and of course I kept petting it #like I walked two steps and it meowed and ran after me how could I leave that alone but like it followed me to the end of the street #so I was getting worried it might follow me to the train station and thats not a safe space for a kitten #like especially if it were to follow me into the train it would not know how to get home #so I called my friend and asked him to tell the teacher I might be late because of a kitten I wasn't gonna risk it following me near a trai #eventually the kitten went to sleep on a car so I could leave but I didn't wanna leave kittens are cute #I really miss that kitten by the way

had a roach attempt an escape today ☝

#not like. an american roach that invaded the vet room #they were pet roachez ^_^ hissing roachez!!#my little babiez <3 i love the roachez so much im literally the only mf who actually handlez them though #outta 24 ppl im the only one willing to which is SO SAD. theyre such sweet and cute little guyz #15 little roachez :3 #one skittered under the tank when i waz cleaning it out... just scooped the little guy back up and put him in #he freaked the other techz out though #i looove love taking care of the roachez though. theyre so cuteeee UGH sorry i love them #i alwayz look forwardz to seeing them they literally get me thru the day lol #im excited to take care of the hornwormz/mothz... i do have a feeling ill end up stuck on roach duty for a few more monthz #just by way of No One being willing to get anywhere near them #also i just dont trust anyone to be gentle with the poor thingz... :[#we only have to handle them for a few minutez at a time to clean out the enclosure but i feel thatz already a few minutez too many #the other groupz before us usually went on for like. 15-20 minz if i remember the med files right. but ive managed to knock it down to 10 #trying to figure out how to do it faster.. dont wanna freak the roachez out too badly when i clean the tank out #anyway i had a good day aside from the escape attempt lol that one worried me but dw !!! the little guy was ok and safely returned home :]#kitkat chitchat

literally every day ive gotten off work this week ive gone "yeah that was the worst shift i ever worked" and then the next day i get an even worse shift. i may abscond to go whale fishing if this keeps up

#racing!#im in near constant hell/agony/despair/etc but at least when i get home my puppy comes bouncing to the door with a waggy tail to say hi #bc he missed me and he loves me. and then i get to pet his soft little head and for a moment everythinf is right in the world #may be tired but i am home and i have a warm soft puppy in my arms and i get to sleep soon. the world in the span of my fingertips is safe
