shipping will be highly selective, if not nonexistent, due to my muse's physical age. while mentally, she is over 100 years old, she is still physically thirteen years old, which will make shipping rather difficult without lots of plotting between both muns. on top of that, she has a curse that makes love a difficult time for her in general, because anyone she loves is likely to die right before her eyes.

People that fakeclaim with the pretense of "you're only doing this online, it's roleplaying" baffle me, mostly because like... These people do realize the people behind the blogs they interact with have lives outside of the internet, right? Like tangible ones in physical space? We're still existing as plural offline with all the benefits and complications that brings. We're reminded over and over again that fakeclaimers do not see us or know our lives. They don't know the times another member has been laughing their ass off or sobbing their eyes out in front, when our host feels no emotional connection to the situation at all. They don't know the money we allocate towards non-hosts' interests and styles, nor the feeling of physical sickness in the body when a fictive dwells on their source trauma. They don't know we have many fronting/activity habits that have nothing to do with the internet. They don't know how we feel when we know we're not alone at night because we're able to remind each other it's going to be okay.

They don't know our personal lives. They don't know the intricacies of our private existence. We are real even when the eyes of others are not on us. Fakeclaimers will never have power over us again.

WIBTA for writing fanfics shipping two characters from a TTRPG campaign?

this feels like a complete non-issue, but oh my god am i anxious. please dont be mean. everyone in the story (including characters) are adults. many unimportant details omitted bc the gm is on tumblr and if he saw this i think i would turn into dirt.

im in an online campaign and we've been playing for a couple months. my character has become my Actual Son and i love thinking about him all the time. the other night, me and two other players were chatting in a channel on the discord about our characters. it was simple things like how our characters view each other, and it was all in good fun.

we were analyzing one of the characters because their player (O) made a playlist based off their life, and the other player (B) joked about my character and playlist character being involved romantically. it was silly and the O said anyone was welcome to try romancing their character, we made a silly ship name and joked that B was the first official shipper. i replied and said i might be one too and we kept joking about it.

however, my brain has been rotating these two characters in my head for hours now and i want to write my own personal headcanons/shipping fics for them. they've both interacted a lot and have quite a bit of lore they've experienced together in the campaign and its angsty and i cannot stop thinking about it.

i have a password protected writing blog on tumblr where i would be posting them for private archival and otherwise i wouldnt tell anyone about it unless our characters actually started behaving romantically.

reasons i think i could be the asshole: im worried this will affect my roleplaying with this character, im also worried i misunderstood how much of the conversation was joking, im also not sure where the whole group stands on characterXcharacter romance and worry about making people uncomfortable

reasons i dont think im the asshole: the writing will be kept privately for my own enjoyment, my ttrpg character has grown into more than just my tabletop character and i've been fleshing out a life story for him, the law of 'do whatever you want forever'

so, would i be the asshole for writing ship fics between these two characters?

i just love rick and michonne’s love SO MUCH. rick’s so broken and terrified (understandably so) — seeing his almost tearful plea to jadis (fucking HATER) and how he tries to shove michonne away … goD 🫠 my heart broke a million times. but it’s him who’s broken, not THEM and i literally cannot wait for michonne to show him that he’s still rick fucking grimes and they can do anything together.

i’m still cackling and kicking my feet that michonne was 1000% not buying what he was selling and threw them both out of a literal helicopter!! a literal leap of faith and we love to see it!!! i cannot WAIT for next week wkfjskdjak i think they just need room and time to BE together and TALK so!! i’m ready.

Tips for Indie Plotting

So you’ve started an Indie and you want to reach out to some potential partners? Or maybe you want some more partners and have seen someone you want to reach out to? These are a few tips and tricks. These are ones that I personally have found work for me (and these are things I have experienced more than once), but they may not work for everyone. So these are just some things to keep in mind, especially if you’re the one making first contact.

First things first: check if your potential partner has a rules page. Read it. An indie roleplayer’s rules aren’t just there for the fun of it. They are there to establish boundaries, and your page is a place for you to establish your own. If your rules aren’t compatible with theirs, this is not the partner for you. Boundaries are very important in creating a cohesive partnership.

Check your potential partner’s muses page. If there is information on the muse that you want to write with: read the bio. If the bio has triggers that you’re not comfortable with, they might not be a character that you want to write with. Remember that the FC is not the character.

Start by introducing yourself. It’s a little thing but I know a lot of players like to know their partners names.

Have some kind of a plot idea in mind. Don’t message them and then expect them to do all of the heavy lifting. It’s okay if you only have a vague idea that can be built on, just have some kind of idea.

If you’re approaching a multi-muse, know which character or selection of characters you would like some kind of plot with. Read their bios and see who would fit in with your plot. If you’re also a multi-muse, know who you plan to use. It makes things a hell of a lot easier for both of you.

At the same time, remember that some people have face claims that they are not comfortable roleplaying with. Look for that list before you message them so you don’t suggest someone they have banned. Also if you see your favourite FC on their banned list, don’t message them asking them to change their minds. Respect their wishes and go looking for another FC or someone else to RP with.

Some people only like interacting with multi-muse blogs, some people don’t like interacting with them at all. If you can see on their rules that they more than likely won’t roleplay with you, you will only be setting yourself up for rejection.

If your potential partner has starters open to non-mutuals, answer one. Sometimes just answering a starter can break the ice a little bit easier. This is also handy if you’re not so much a person who thrives with messaging first. So many people do not have expiry dates on their open starters.

Never ever EVER ask someone who does not know you from a bar of soap to bend their rules or change their muse for you. 

Remember that it is okay for the other player to say no. This is a hobby. Don't be rude if they say no, move on.

If you violate someone's boundaries whether intentional or not and they block you, MOVE ON. Don't make another blog to go and harass them because they did.

On the other side of it, don't let anyone shame you for having boundaries. It is okay to want to be comfortable in the RPC. I personally find writing smut uncomfortable, and cannot tell you how often people try to get me to change my mind. Don't be afraid to block.

uncomfortable.

the thought of doing tickle stuff with a minor makes me feel so Ueeggggh like i feel sick to my stomach rn thinking of it.

tickling is like the equivalent of kissing and cuddling to me, very intimate, so obviously doing that shit with a minor is a Gross thought, regardless of how non sexual it is. like guys let’s be fr: if you were irl, sitting in a room with a Kid you talk to online… would you feel comfortable tickling them? hopefully not.

and it might seem innocent at the time, but it’s likely it will have long lasting effects on the minors. like when i was 16 i had friends in their 20s who would tease me and i’d tease them… and now i just feel taken advantage of regardless of how sfw it was. its all just very unsettling to think about how adults were telling me how they wanted to explore and touch my body (as that’s what tickling is essentially)

edit: this is specifically directed at intimate minor/adult relationships revolving around teasing and roleplaying and personal shit. not just general blog interactions.

Hokay-- this needs to be said about now, and I'll link this in my pinned post.

I can't follow everyone back. And it stinks when you follow a cool blog but they don't make you a mutual. It's nothing to do with you or your work-- but everything to do with how easily overwhelmed just following 100 blogs can be.

I get super anxious if I follow too many people. I've always been like that, you can look back at my old blogs and see. As much as I hate saying 'no' to people, sometimes I have to.

Please don't reblog my headcanons or IC posts. I don't mind liking a thread, provided the person I'm writing with is also cool with it. And y'all can reblog out of character stuff as much as you want. But my headcanons and in character dash comms are just meant to be on here.

Positive vibes are my goal. The world is a hella negative place-- there's a lot of bad stuff going on. If you need sagely old man advice, or someone to help you workshop stuff-- I'm open to it. Non mutuals are welcome to ask for advice as well, or send asks for characters [that do not involve roleplaying via the askbox cuz that's not a loophole].

At the end of the day I am just a disabled guy trying to write to relax. If an interaction becomes too stressful, I will stop it. I'm not a writing machine, I'm a person. We all are.

This blog focuses on my Rain World OCs involved in the "Mobile Iterator Project" AU. ^_^

The “Mobile Iterator Project” (MIP) is a project created and directed by an Ancient named "No Cost Too Great" (NCTG) with the stated goal of supporting standard iterators in their productivity, maintenance, and longevity, so that they can operate at maximum efficiency, even after the inevitable mass ascension. ‘MIP Units’—iterators under the project—are created puppet-first in the "MIP Development Center" and later assigned to Local Groups, where their structures are built to support the Iterators around them. Uniquely, their personalities are heavily based around singular, specific Architects (Ancients) who donate their memories and qualia. The exception to this is TWR. In total, there are 99 MIP Units, with IDs ranging from 01 to 99.

(This AU strays pretty far from the themes and canon of both Vanilla Rain World and Downpour, so please keep that in mind!)
