jonah's boring manager swag died a gruesome death in fanon and i won't let that happen to lena. ok. she has even less personality than him like she seems to be actively suppressing the little personality she has. and i love that about her. she doesn't even enjoy the corporate nonsense of it all like he did, it's just. what she is made of. in fact she doesn't seem to enjoy anything at all. except maybe chocolate cake. i hope she stays super serious at all times. i also hope there's a scene where someone makes a joke and she fails to suppress a giggle and then proceeds to act like this is the worst thing to have ever happened to her.

Hiii Miru!!! âĽď¸
How is your day going?
Sorry if Iâm bothering you, but I just wanted to ask you something that was in my mind for a while, whatâs your opinion about the todayâs Once-ler Fandom?
I mean, the new oncelings (like me) and all the new stuff that is here, you probably think that all of this is so different in comparison with how the fandom was back in 2012!
And also⌠do you miss something from the fandom? :p
Something that you donât see here anymore or not as much as it used to be?
Hiii suemooon! Today was yet another tiring work day =w= but my coworker gave me hot chocolate mix and marshmallows today as a christmas present so that was nice! I hope you're doing well too.
To compare today's onceler fandom vs 2012's onceler fandom...man I could talk forever about this haha! This is all just from my own point of view of course but I would say, yes a lot of things are different, but a lot of things are the same, too.
UHHMMM extremely long post so it's under a readmore LOL
For the differences, a lot of them are simply due to the way the internet has changed in 12 years. In 2012, most oncelings were in their early 20s, and if you were younger than 16 you were extremely rare and we would be like "WOAH?? THEY'RE 15?? I HAVE NEVER SEEN A 15 YEAR OLD ON SOCIAL MEDIA BEFORE". But today's oncelings are like, mostly teens now, I feel? I think it's because of tiktok, which didn't exist internationally until 2018, and also because of parents giving ipads to their kids at the age of 2. But yeah, to compare today to 2012 is like comparing gen z to millennials, the content and jokes were different and, due to 2012 being in the past, what was socially acceptable was different, too.
Another thing that's different is the way young people act towards characters nowadays, but let me specify some more. I really dislike the term "content" when referring to someone's personal creations because it just sounds so corporate. And I don't know how to feel when I see some new oncelings treat an old popular askblog character as if they're public property produced by some big company, instead of as an OC that someone worked really hard on. For example, Truffula Flu Camp Entre and Thneedville High AU are like "established media" to a lot of people out there now, as if they're well-known series recognizable to the masses (no, they're not). And as a result, I've seen people headcanon whatever they want on other people's OCs and ship them however they want without even knowing if the mods are okay with those ships anymore (it's better to be real careful, if you want my advice..). I've also seen new oncelings give other people's OCs to public merch-selling sites without the mods' permission, and I've even seen new oncelings try to take inactive askblog OCs as their own. Why? :( Just make your own OCs. You can do it! Hold my hand.
New oncelings don't understand what they're stepping into when they look at our old content from over a decade ago. Our personal feelings and our private friendships from those times, whether good or bad, are precious to us and I guess it's just a new phenomenon that we have to deal with now, so I don't have the answers for this yet. But I would encourage everyone to also look at new and current OCs in the fandom - which many people do, and I love to see that!! I also love seeing people making friends with each other and having fun with each other, that's what reminds me of the better days of 2012.
Another difference is the...landscape? We have tumblr DMs now and we have discord communities so a lot of things are hidden now from public view. RPs used to be public on tumblr but now we rp on discord and only people in the server can read them, and there are pros and cons to that. Also the fandom isn't dominated by only a handful of askblogs anymore. Things are WAY more balanced and evenly distributed now compared to 2012, where Swag Once-ler was the king of the fandom with 200 asks sent to him every hour and 4000 followers accumulated in just 5 months. (And I'm not dissing on Swag, I loved Swag too. I'm just stating my observations. In fact I miss him a lot ;-;)
As for what's the same...xD The excitement and passion that a lot of new oncelings have! I find that so cute. People being creative is the same, people gushing over the onceler and fandom ocs is the same, even if internet slang has changed. People being ambitious with projects is the same, even if those projects are never finished (but this is just general human nature). And PEOPLE BEING SWEET TO EACH OTHER is the same! I was nervous during 2020 since a lot of "ironic" fans joined that year but I'm happy to have seen some genuinely sweet people around in more recent years, just like there were in 2012. đ
I also see a lot of the same movie analysis discussions each year, which makes sense since new people keep entering the fandom, haha! "The lorax movie could've been better", "the 1972 film is better", "I wish they kept biggering", "they should've expanded the factory scenes and taken out the car chase scene", "i hate the onceler's mom", "the movie's point gets muddled because too many people think his mom's to blame", "i can't believe zac efron and taylor swift didn't sing in the movie", and on and on, those never change, and I've seen these same discussions so often that I support the antithesis of each topic now, just to be a rebel. đ But usually I don't engage in those anymore, I just think "haha aww! they're having fun :]" and leave them be! But like, it truly reminds me of the earlier days. It's me who has changed, in this case.
And finally, "do you miss something from the fandom? Something that you donât see here anymore or not as much as it used to be?" I mentioned Swag already, I also miss a lot of other askblogs that belonged to my friends, and most of all I miss a lot of my friends who've drifted away, and I hope they're all doing well. I had a lot of good times with friends over the years. Some of them were rp partners and I miss our rps and I miss their characters dearly, I can't think about it too hard or else I might cry. What else...I want to say that I miss the crazy nightblogging events we used to have but I don't know if I could keep up with those anymore if they happened again haha. Same with askblogs answering asks live, almost no one does that now because people want so much to make every ask pretty with a new pretty artwork. But like, even if that comes back, again I don't know if I could keep up. So I suppose everything had its place!
Things will continue to shift and change, and you never know what the future holds so it's best to just keep going. I'm still making new friends and new good memories in the fandom each year, and I'm grateful for that.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this ask and thanks (and sorry) to anyone who read through all of this!!

Kamala aunty and the Hindu vote
Getting this out of the way, I'm voting for Kamala Harris. Biden really should've dropped out two months ago, and there's no other corporate democrat I would really endorse besides her, and not because of the identity politics. Well, sort of. If the Republican primary taught us anything, is a person of South Asian descent will continue to be the ideological punching bag of the white community.
South Asian men get deleted so hard I can't even find a GIF of Vivek Ramaswamy
How Kamala was treated the past four years by the democratic administration of Biden's was nothing short of egregious. Every impossible problem to solve she was blamed for with no tools address the root cause, and she stayed in there looking dumb like a loyal corporate employee. Now the entire system is banking on the political capital they were sweeping from underneath her to stop a literal convicted felon from retaking power and pardoning himself.
Not to mention the states where votes actually mattered 8 years ago were too sexist to put in a woman in power before, so now we're hoping a woman of color would go over better?
Candace Owens already showed how envious she is of Kamala's biracial swag with some really dumb comments.
Her black half isn't what's the issue is, because she embodies a lot more blackness than Asianness in her disposition to the American psyche. And the precedent for half black Presidents that perfectly fall within the cookie-cutter corporate democrat on policy has already been set.
It's her Asian side that might stoke the xenophobia that caused the whitelash red wave of 2016; y'know, because she's going to be subject to nearly the same misogyny Hilary was.
As an Asian-American, Kamala Harris and Andrew Yang weren't just the two candidates I identified most with, they were the best candidates in that primary, period. But they got dismissed and belittled so immensely because of the need to appeal to milk-toast whiteness. Republicans pander hard to grab minority votes, Democrats just avoid putting any minorities in significant positions influence. Don't believe me? Seen any LBGTQ+ positions in real moving and shaking positions?
The DEI stuff the right is going to criticize the entire scope and sequence of how Kamala became the candidate isn't good or fair, but it's not entirely wrong. Because of just how hollow the Democratic Party treats anyone with the poor affliction of being a minority.
There's a key part of the South Asian diaspora Biden lost exactly that Kamala herself is a part of, which makes things interesting to say the least..
Kamala does have the best policy on Israel of any candidate, but that's not saying much since her policy is essentially Obama-lite.
But that means she might lose her own identity vote on just that considering how abhorrently Islamophobic naturalized Indian-Americans have gotten in their support of Narendra Modi
youtube
I don't care how effective the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue has been at curbing Chinese aggression, the Nationalist imagery isn't a good sign for any society, really.
Especially when Muslim civil rights in India have all but evaporated. Nikki Haley wasn't particularly bad on Muslim civil rights compared to other Republicans, even as a half-Indian, she didn't buddy up to Modi (probably because he's done more to encourage gender-based violence in India than stop it), and I expect Kamala to actually get the misogynistic slander from conservative Indians because the hyperpatriarchy only comes when it comes to the opposition.
Being half Brahmin though certainly can't hurt her chances with her Hindu base, right? Well, Hindu men certainly have deeper roots in the red pill movement then we'd like to believe, and the first ones they point the finger towards are Hindu women that didn't choose them. Nikki Haley was polling better but Vivek Ramaswamy ate up her press pretty handily. Everyone sees Asian feminine beauty as valuable, but our misogynistic standards prevent us from seeing that type of ethnic image as leadership-worthy.
At least it's not Gavin Newsom. But that might not be enough for South Asian American males dissatisfied with their lot in life. Trump's message is appealing to us because it feeds into our vanity and takes responsibility off us as to why our sisters are meeting the model minority myth and we aren't. While we're not solely to blame, at least the right has some crazy narrative that explains why life didn't turn out to what was expected of us, even if that narrative twists it in a way that will end up just making us feel more isolated, because the right has the most racist women in the country, bar-none.
Well, women on both sides of the political spectrum are equally pretty racist in their courtship preferences, it's just liberal women will explain things in vague externalities and icks rather than being a sign for public restrooms in pre-1963 America.
In either case, this is a biracial black woman who was never in touch with the struggles of an Asian man, never really having been related to one even though she's an Asian woman. To a lot of Asian men, Trump is just more of what we expect of the lunacy of American politics, versus Kamala might be one of those people who actively makes us feel subhuman by being of the same race but still treating us as less than, like many desi women have been doing since biracial marriages within 1st generation South Asian Americans began getting normalized.
The normative view has to become where femininity isn't inherently more attractive than masculinity, especially so that women aren't just fit to be more educated and start making more, but actually lead society in meaningful ways.
I think if you're an AAPI in any capacity and you're not voting for Kamala Harris, you're missing the point somehow. But we're not the movers and makers of these elections, because we always reside in states that are firmly blue or red (well, at least until 2016 when Georgia did a thing). Kamala Harris's black vote definitely extends further than Biden's, but by less than makes actual sense. Can't do much worse than Biden on the Hispanic vote, but Kamala Harris if anyone is how you do that.
So if there's fundamentally just about how identity works in America, we will have a POTUS 47 in 2025. But we've learned the two decades in America has been anything fair to identity. Heck, as a Muslim teacher of a liberal arts content area in a red state I feel at the time. My supervisors won't make exceptions for me they readily make for anyone else, not that they were requirements to begin with, just because my identity bears the ugliest parts of the model minority myth. I don't look Asian enough to be Asian, and the media makes my ethnic identity look to threatening to be trusted with novel ideas, at least.
That's at least something this candidate and I have in common. Biraciality and Multiethnicity isn't well understood in our discussions of intersectionality in social and political discourse. The only people that try to make sense of it are the ones that actively try to erode the ethnic barriers enclaves self-segregate on. Kamala has had to think about that because it's a fundamental part of her identity.
I'm not voting on identity or identity politics, as the right would claim I will. I'm voting because at least this candidate has the capacity to understand me, because they're not a white, entitled, spoiled brat that tried to overthrow the government when he didn't get his way. Y'know, fundamental stuff like that.
Because I'm still American through-and-through, regardless of what my ethnic background is. What's more American than having a minority prosecutor in a liberal enclave? That's literally one of the top 5 career options every desi child is given when they think about their careers.
So yeah, Kamala2024. Bite me.

VikingPilot propaganda:
"Unreliable narrator of all time, this FUCKED UP MESS OF A GHOST has sooooo much nonsense going on and going WRONG with him. This mans starts off as a tragic character whos unable to interact with ANYONE, but once he becomes semi-corporeal and is finally able to speak to others, this results in a LOT of problems for everyone else.
To simply name a few, he phases through things and jump-scares people any chance he gets, he went to unreasonable extremes in order to acquire an I.O.U. from a very powerful person (Legundo) that ultimately accidentally results in a mini apocalypse, he gets an I.O.U. from someone else (Fixxit) and just orders him to stop Legundo at all costs?, hes ALMOST canonically plural/two people, this bitch has a fucking insane underground vault (with like twelve full sets of netherite, a dimond and netherite throne, and its just spooky as hell), He probably has the best scary laugh iâve ever heard, and hes ALWAYS up to mischief.
Oh also he tries to do some Dark Magic but isnât capable of going through with it due to Legundo not properly following through with his I.O.U., and he decides to remind Legundo of this in the MOST mentally well adjusted way possible ( https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxbcBe_A7YYtt2K33_Rm4V71SG0sqdnEY_ ).
Anyways thats most of the major nonsense I can think of for right now so uhhh! Enjoy the VikingPilot propaganda and please remember you are NEVER immune to Bell Noises!"
"Lovely unreliable narrator who loves jumpscaring his friends."
"quote from the ghosty boy himself. ""what do the interest rates look like on your word?"""
"he's a ghost. he has no memories. his soul got torn asunder by an evil magic book. he's trying to do a ritual from the evil magic book that split him in half so that he can get his memories back. he's a sneaky bastard who's double crossing everyone else on the server. he makes a lot of really terrible jokes. he (canonically!) says trans rights. vikingpilot you agree reblog."
"split color scheme. unreliable narrator. plural swag. committed tax fraud."
"Viking is a ghost haunting the world of Dominion SMP! For a long time, he was merely an observerâ no one could see him, no one could hear him, he couldnât interact with anything; no one knew he even existed. That was, I until the members of Dominion killed the Ender Dragon. This changed⌠something⌠in the world, and caused him to be visible, audible, and (mostly) tangible.
From there, he made a haunted graveyard, spooked people by sneaking up on them and shouting âBell noises!!â, had a totally normal and not at all unhinged response to (one) asking for a favor, and (two) following up on that favor when it had not yet been kept, and he built a creepy mansion! He also plays piano!
Heâs not sure how or when he died, but he feels certain that he was someone important. At some point in the time he was a ghost, he somehow got his hands on a book, which contains different rituals, and apparently, the contents of this book broke his mind, somewhat splitting it in two, and possibly being the source of his amnesia. Notably, the book contains a ritual that would allow him to regain his memories, and this has been his main objective for most of the series."
"ghost of ALL TIME. haunted his friends for months before they suddenly became able to see him. walks through walls. has world's most evil nervous laugh. knows exactly where his hinges are buried. unreliable narrator. has an underground vault full of diamonds and expensive armor, including a throne made of netherite. causes shenanigans on purpose. lived in an underground graveyard and then a haunted mansion. monologued for 11 minutes about wanting to do dark magic in order to necromancy himself and cure his amnesia. very pluralcoded. won round 1 of a sexyman bracket despite being a niche character. the most guy/ghost of all time forever"
"i havenât actually watched dominion,,, but like. i keep seeing this funky little unreliable narrator ghost man on my dash sometimes. so fuck yeah."
"Heâs just a silly little ghost guy!"

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 1 MASHUP 2
Reagan Ridley (Inside Job) vs Futaba Sakura (Persona 5)
Reagan Ridley is a Roboticist!
Futaba Sakura is a Computer Scientist and Hacker/Programmer!
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Reagan Ridley:
"She is my blorbo <333 my specialest little girl <3333 she is going to take over the world with the power of daddy issues, superiority complexes and SCIENCE <333"
"Mommy and daddy issues. In her 30s. A REALISTIC woman witn features that a normal (?) freaking human could have. She's so girlboss and girlfailure at the same time. Just a fucking loser. Nice non-romantic relationship with (male) her BFF (business friend/family forever)."
"guhh shes so cool. emotionally neglected autism lady (also implied bisexual). she made a robot replica of a guy on a dating app to practice date him so she didnt fuck it up. also she works for the deep state. "Who's the weirdo now? Not the girl who invented robot arms to hug strangers! Oh my god I sound insane""
"I donât think sheâs in a specific field other than conspiracy theories. Maybe robotics. She built a robot boyfriend and robot president both of which developed sentient AI, and she built herself a set of robot arms. But she also created a giant sentient frog, like a real frog not a robot, when she was in fifth grade. Autism swag. She goes to the moon and hears that there are moon nazis and goes âhave you tried shooting them? It works for earth nazisâ"
"she skrunkly, never sleep, tragic backstory babygirl"
"neurodivergent girlboss"
"She is girlboss and sheâs cringefail. She made an AI robot president. She made a robot replica of her date. She was uhhh âtweakedâ in the womb to be more like her dad (who is also a scientist.) She would prefer to engineer literally anything over dealing with her problems directly. She is everything. Justice for inside job getting cancelled"
"She is absolutely insane, and also relatable. She is severely undervalued in her corporate deep state work environment, deals with the worst situations imaginable on a regular basis, and also cares deeply for the people around her. She is easily the smartest person in any given room and yet she is still very insecure."
"its because shes just like me fr. one small caveat is that i think she's straight in canon. oh well cant have everything"
Futaba Sakura:
"shes a 15yo autist who can take down the in-universe equivalent of anonymous in an afternoon. she has mommy issues"
"she is a silly goofy girl who can also pull insane feats of programming. she can hack into anything. she set up her own giant computer rig. she can remotely tap into people's phones."
"She is so blorbo! Sheâs very smart and funny, could use her powers for evil (and occasionally causes mischief) but uses them for good, cool character arc, just a silly little guy :)"
"she's silly i like her tetris shirt and she speaks in dorky references"
"technology (shes a hacker??) with a side of science (she has an interest in her mothers work in the field of cognitive "psience" as its referred to in-game!!) uhhh cant really explain stuff well but shes really epic and truly the hackergirl ever. shes cool enough that i partially based a character i recently made off of her tbh"
"Futaba is a traumatized shut-in that hates getting out of her room and interacting with people. She first contacts the heroes by hacking their group chat, asking for them to consider changing the heart of ""Futaba Sakura"".
Once they do, Futaba manages to confront her feelings and trauma and heal. She makes peace with the survivor's guilt she feels after the unfair death of her mother, who was a researcher/programmer before her.
Futaba does a lot of hacking for the sake of her friends, the Phantom Thieves. This also reflects in her Persona Necronomicon. She's the navigator/mission control of the group, not having combat abilities but being able to scan enemies to show their weaknesses.
Futaba's hacking also helps save the protagonist's life at one point. Like that's literally a huge plot point in the True Ending of Persona 5 and 5R. She's amazing."
"She is very good with computers and she helped the Phantom thieves with her hacking abilities"

Hello pommunist dot Tumblr dot com, I just wanted to say thank you for your posts! I may not agree with all of your perspectives but they are a very good source of differing views to keep my own bias in check. I always see you making sure that discussion stays overall respectful and that is very swag of you đ I come from an environment where it's very common for workers to be exploited in the ways that are relevant rn (as far as I know, all of my friends have been). I also, as a person, have a very hard time being angry or taking a strong stance against anything (the more I disagree with someone's actions, the harder I subconsciously try to empathize with them) so your expressions of outrage help me remember that things like this are not normal and should be fought against.
It's very hard for me to condemn any of the things that quackity or others involved with q studios have done. To be clear, I completely support the admins' rights to proper treatment and pay; it's just that I know that if I was in the place of those higher-ups/quackity, I would have made the same or very similar mistakes, so it feels very fallacious to hold them to higher standards than I would hold myself. Is this a strange or inappropriate position to hold? I just do not know how to flex my brain in the right way to look at qstudios as a 'corporate entity' rather than a 'collection of individuals.' That plus the fact that in my opinion, all these problems with the server's management are much easier to make than people (at least in my experience) want to think, and have a good chance of happening with any project just because communication is so inherently infallible and human nature is complicated.
Again, I do really appreciate your point of view and perspective. I just have a hard time truly understanding the more "zero-tolerance" approach toâwell, to anything, but in this case to abuse of workers' rights. Would you be willing to explain more of your perspective? I really truly do want to understand better.
I hope you are having a good day/night, and that the tone of this does not come off as anything other than genuine. Lots of love! â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Hey anon !! First do not worry your message came off as nothing but genuine, no problem at all đŤś
Also I donât think itâs strange or inappropriate for you to have the position you described in your ask ! I actually relate a lot to you saying you can have a hard time being angry at something because same, the more I analyse someoneâs actions the more I tend to see their pov and empathise.
Also about holding yourself to a different standard if you were in their shoes, the question is : would you, in a similar scenario, have made decisions that would have put you in the same situation they are now ? Personally, I know that I donât have the money, ressources or abilities to manage such a big project, so by realising it, I wouldnât have gone through with it.
For the others things you brought up Iâm gonna link you to a previous ask I answered, as well as to the very pertinent addition by @blockgamepirate to it, which I hope can bring some elements of answers to your questions.
And personally, there are many reasons I feel so strongly about the topic of workers rights. Them being that I just care about politics and have an interest in them, but also the current political climate of my own country and my personal background makes it that I kinda HAD to strongly make my mind on this topic. In this particular case it angers me even more because the admins were mostly young people, who had a great love and admiration for the project, and for the passion of young fans be taken advantage of is just heartbreaking.
I hope this was at least somewhat helpful, sending love back âĽď¸

I feel like some people do Miss Paulingâs character a disservice by trying to also make her more like Admin than anything, like yeah sure sheâs her boss and yeah Pauling respects her for perfectly normal legitimate reasons that definitely donât involve the strap, but Pauling isnât some hot authoritative chain smoking GILF, sheâs kind of a fail woman sheâs just better at masking that fact cause of the autism professionalism
Donât get me wrong I love her so so much and I think she has the mercs wrapped around her finger but I think thatâs mostly down to her autistic tgirl swag and not her ability to assert control over most of them (save for scout but heâs an outlier and should NOT be counted) but I also think if she tried to get bold and talk back to Admin all it would take is one GILF Order and sheâd be on the ground like a dog. Like sniper.
HONESTLY like she's not rlly "authoritative" at all lmao. She's their boss but she's like a Cool Boss yknow, and she's also like, not thaaat high above them? At least not in the vibe I get from her lol. She's on the ground, she does a lot of Admin's "dirty work" (killing people), and it's clearly not uncommon for her to hold meetings with and honestly just hang out with the mercenaries, which Admin is NEVER seen doing. Pauling shows up at their corporate Halloween party. The Tough Break update has her doing like regular non-work friendship stuff with them too. She IS their boss and that authority is an important part of her character, but she's not THAT much of their boss. I definitely don't like making her Admin 2 it removes so much of what makes her fun AND what makes Admin and their contrast fun, imo. Pauling needs to be the "you seem like the kind of person to have friends" to Admin's. yknow. Admin-ness

I LOVE SAMMICH!!
â ď¸ Guzma / Frostbite / Cathal (Friends can call me Goons ma!)
â ď¸ They/Them, It/Its or He/Him !!!
â ď¸ Cathal's best friend and sibling (canon) and Allan's horrible chaos adoptive child (canon)
â ď¸ High Roller's GAY SPOUSE and CO-HOST (CANON)
â ď¸ The most swag Cog around, here to cause mayhem
â ď¸ CLICK HERE TO GO TO MY TOON'S ASK/RP BLOG!!!
(More intro post stuff below! BTW "#guz art" is my art tag!)
Care to read more? Alrighty! Welcome, Toons and Suits alike! This is a side-blog just to dump my Toontown Corporate clash related things onto.
If it's TTCC/Toontown, it goes here! How nice! Now, I do not plan on interacting with the fandom very much outside of the game and people I'm familiar with. I will only main tag things that I like if I'm confident. Be aware I don't go into the tags myself - I have stuff sent to me or I reblog from others - or check friend's blogs I already know of.
Feel free to ask me things and talk to me about TTCC, though!! I love answering things! I just don't plan on initiating conversations myself as I'd prefer to stay in my own bubble. Despite my energy, I can be very shy. I also tend to delete posts due to personal fears, so if you can't find a post from me you once saw, that may be why.
Want to play with me? Okay by me! If I play, I'm probably playing as my main toon, Frostbite The Bat! Currently at 136 laff. Feel free to say hi! (Please do say where you know me from though LOL.) You can also find me multitooning, or just playing on my alt Toons alone. My most played alt toons are: Archie Archeopteryx and Winstoon Byrd! (I have way more Toons, though.)
(That's me!) (I think you should run. /speedchat)
Now, for some fun history... I originally only played on TTR, but that got boring and I stopped. I played on TTCC once or twice in 2019 before a lot of the big updates. Now, years later, I decided to get into Toontown again, but went with TTCC instead. I missed all the lore updates, and I wish I was there to experience them first-hand. I am very glad to have began playing Toontown again - it has changed my life for the better and I've met some of my best friends I've ever had through it.
Again, I encourage sending me asks! But I'd prefer if nobody asks me about ships. I'm disinterested in those and I am not here for that. If you need something tagged, let me know! I may be polite on this post, but I shitpost a lot and I swear like a sailor sometimes, so be wary of that. This is a NON NORMAL zone. We all go here to get weird, buddy. I also post a lot on impulse and when I'm tired. Again, I may delete too rambly posts sometimes. I worry a lot and I'm just like that, please be patient with me.

i'm sitting at the airport terminal in the middle of the night and something wild just happened to me and my first thought was "is this miya twin coded?" so i popped over here because 1. you're one of my absolute favorites. 2. i was just re-reading your kita piece for all the glorious emotional smut. and 3. you also <3 the miyas. please excuse me as i process this.
in senior year high school i went to a weekend-long statewide competition and met these twins in the elevator. one of them definitely had more swagger, more teasing confidence (the kind that guys who are usually successful with ladies have) and the other one was a little quieter, seemed a bit more sincere even though he talked less. we hit it off in conversation and they asked me and my friend if we wanted to grab food with them. i wasn't entirely sure but i thought maybe they were flirting? i was pretty sheltered up until that point and didn't want to assume incorrectly. towards the end of the comp the quieter twin asked if he could come visit me in my city and i, confused, asked "why??" spoiler alert: i ended up dating him for ~2 years.
i found out early on in our relationship that after our "casual dinner" that night when they got back to their room, Swag twin wanted to try his luck and see if he could get with me, but Quiet twin said that he would FIGHT HIM because Quiet really liked me and genuinely wanted to ask me out and he said he wouldn't let his brother ruin that by trying to hook up. Swag was apparently used to usually getting his way, so he realized how serious Quiet was to threaten to beat his ass so i guess he backed off. I didn't find this out until after Quiet and i started seriously talking/dating.
I went out of state for college but we maintained the LDR until halfway through my sophomore year. classic breakup reasons: growing pains/long distance was taking its toll/i wanted to explore life. but we remained on good terms and consider each other friends! we rarely talk, but he still let me use his netflix login for the past 11 years. when he was moving into a corporate role a couple years ago i helped him with interview prep, and when i was looking for a new job he sent me reqs he thought were a good fit.
he's had at least a couple relationships in the near-decade since we broke up (we don't talk about dating but i had seen on social media at some point). i've dated and had a few situationships and am now in a 4 year relationship with my bf. however, he most definitely doesn't know this because we don't chat often, i'm rarely on socials these days and my bf is a very private person.
i'm so sorry for how long this has been. all of this context is to say...i am chilling in the airport on my way home and I GOT A CONFESSION FROM QUIET?? something about i'm the one that got away, he feels he'd won the lottery by meeting me and having me in his life, he referenced the fight he had with his brother all those years ago and said he'd fight the same fight TO THIS DAY. i am flummoxed. i think it is a sign from the great spaghetti monster in the sky that i need to log off tumblr because my very first thought was "what in the fanfiction trope is this?" does this shit actually happen irl? now i need to go deal with this.
anyways thank you for reading this if you got this far! idk if it's just because it's twins and their dynamic is vaguely similar to osamu and atsumu but i was like...have i been isekai'ed into a miya twin fanfic? the sleep deprivation may be catching up to me and i may be entirely unhinged idk
first of all, ily and iâm so flattered you thought of me and ran over here to share this story. i literally read this while brushing my teeth because i was running late for work this morning, but i was so invested i had to read the whole message before i left.
anyway, EXCUSE ME????? i actually canât get over this. how does it feel to have lived in a real life miya twins fanfic? are you taking interviews at this time? HE SAID HE WOULD FIGHT!!!! HIM? THE ATSUMU/OSAMU DYNAMICS i cannot believe. somewhere an author is on their knees (itâs me, the author). AND NOW THE CONFESSION???? OVER A DECADE LATER? i almost choked on my toothpaste. (i feel like thereâs also irony to be found in the inherently symbolic nature of getting that message in such a transitionary, liminal space like an airport in the middle of the night.)
nonnie, i hope you have safe travels home and can get some much-deserved rest after that absolute bombshell. if there ever happens to be a future update or footnote to this storyâŚâŚâŚ..you know where to find me.

In what might be one of the most creative TV shows of the last few years, Apple TV+âs Severance takes the much-talked-about idea of work-life balance to the extreme. And, in doing so, brilliantly shines a light on the cult-like atmosphere of modern corporate culture (looking at you Big Tech) and the myth of achieving a true work-life balance.
What is Severance?
In the series, employees of megacorporation Lumon undergo a procedure known as âseverance.â The procedure surgically divides the individualâs memories between their work and personal lives. When employees take the elevator down to their floor, they lose all memories of their outside life. Alternatively, the moment they step off the elevator at the end of the day, employees have no recollection of who they work with or what they do. As a result, their work selves are known as âinnies,â and the people they are outside of work are called âouties.â
The Cult of Corporate Culture
Severance is essentially a mix of Black Mirror meets The Office with a splash of Lost thrown in. But despite its sci-fi, futuristic premise, it hits the nail on the head when it comes to the inhumanity and cult-like tenants of todayâs corporate culture.
Thereâs the deification of Kier Eagan, the founder of Lumon, reflected by the Perpetuity Wing â a Madame Tussauds museum-like shrine to the founder and his descendants â which employees get to visit for a rare break from their perpetual work. It might seem over-the-top and ridiculous, but it closely mirrors the way society views CEOs like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as more than mere humans.
The obsession and cult-level worship for Lumonâs founder and his descendants also unlock the deeper reason for the companyâs focus on its leadersâ infallibility and accomplishments: showcasing how a life of working at Lumon provides a âgreater purposeâ or a sacred mission. Much like the overly ambiguous corporate mission statements found on every modern company website, Lumon hopes to get buy-ins from the âinniesâ to dedicate their entire lives to serving the company by making them believe they are a part of something bigger than themselves, something making the world a better place. In reality, the âoutiesâ wouldnât even be able to tell you what it is that they do at work. This is quite similar to reality in which many working in the corporate world could quote their organizationâs mission statement in a second, but would have a hard time pinning down exactly how their day-to-day role adheres to or advances that mission. Itâs the idea of the mission that matters.
Then, there are the perks. Just like in real life, they are completely meaningless, and yet, just like the characters in Severance, we attach value to them because the company has convinced us of their value; they signify our own worth and contributions to the greater mission.
In the show, it takes the form of finger traps, erasers, and an engraved paperweight, which one character treats as his greatest life accomplishments. In real life, perks to incentivize you to work overtime and hit your goals could be a shout-out at the next company-wide All Hands meeting or a gift of corporate swag AKA t-shirts and mugs with the company logo. Outside the context of work, they mean nothing yet we are still willing to sacrifice our mental health by working harder and staying later for a chance at earningâ these rewards.
The Myth of the Work-Life Balance
Then thereâs the main premise of the show: how to achieve true work-life balance. To the leadership at Lumon and those who willingly opt-in, the severance procedure unlocks unparalleled productivity by getting rid of the distractions of home life.
On the surface, the procedure seems to successfully accomplish the ever-elusive idea of work-life balance by creating a physical barrier between the two in the brain: your work self and your normal self. Never the two shall meet.
But what the show gets right is how even a medical procedure isnât enough to solve the work-life balance problem permanently. Because who we are at home, while different, is still a part of who we are at work. Compartmentalizing is the goal, but segmenting out your brain like that doesnât work in real life and it doesnât work in the show.
We are good at our jobs because of our skill sets and professional experience, but our memories, our lived experiences, inform how we respond to certain stimuli and situations. As a result, it also plays a role in our job performance. Similarly, you canât help if the stress of an upcoming work deadline stays on your mind well after youâve clocked out.
The increase in remote work with the global pandemic over the last two years has only blurred this divide even more, begging the question of whether work-life balance was ever actually achievable in the first place.
Is âbalanceâ the impossible goal we should be pursuing or should we reframe our approach and look to achieve work-life synergy? We need to acknowledge that the two donât operate in silos and understand that they are intrinsically connected and need equal focus, protection, and time. At times, youâll need to resolve a personal issue at work, and other times youâll need to do some work during your personal time. The two need to work in tandem; rather than balancing the two and treating them as wholly separate from each other. After all, there is only one of you.
Severance brilliantly illuminates the fallacy of work-life balance and the other lies corporations tell us in order to secure our compliance. Maybe the ongoing âgreat resignationâ trend means weâve finally caught on and are no longer willing to accept this status quo. But then again, maybe not.

Yeah dude I love apple for how complex she is but like I canât say I love her without saying sheâs complex first yk- like how I love eah but also I hate eah lmao. Apple is super real feeling, yeah, sheâs toxic but thatâs sort of poetic in the way it interacts with the themes of her story. Of being Apple White. And of being named Apple! Honestly! Like sheâs a terrible person on multiple occasions but also sheâs a terrible person. Still a person and treated as such by the show, still redeemable. I love her for her problematic girl swag. God so much potential in that show. Bc like thatâs just abt Apple there was so much more,, dude I followed a while back for ur awesome art and sciencecore shit- So happy to see somebody else who gets my views on eah lol
congratulations on being the SINGLE person in the demographic i am posting for right now, that being the ENTIRE overlap between people who follow #sciencecore and those who care about Ever After High's politics.
she's awful. she's great. this is a safe space for analyzing toxic characters. im going to go on pretending the apple in my heart is canon. we love a good deconstruction of purity here in junebuggeryy incorporated, and i will go to my grave believing thats what she would have been without nebulous corporate meddling.
#like. i have no proof or insights onto the development of EAH but i will bet actual money on that being what happened#[bugg chitters]#ever after high#y'all are making me reminisce about my days making monster high ocs and having EAH as a prep school in the background.

Saw your rb about asking for punk bands; I'm not suuuper involved in the community (my town doesn't really have a present punk scene and I've not had the luck to find great online punk communities unfortunately) so a lot of the punk bands I listen to are either local or queercore punk bands specifically. Tbh tho, I think trying to look for "well know" / staple bands is the wring approach to the subculture, since often when a band becomes too popular they often lose their messaging in favor of marketability (ie: the question of whether Green Day is still punk or not). If a band is advocating for punk values in their work, they're generally punk imo
HOWEVER, I love giving music recs so here are some bands!!!
1) Dog Park Dissidents - My favorite, I really vibe with their messaging and their music personally. Also, banger cover of Toxic
2) Pansy Division - this is probably the most famous queercore band, they're not my favorite but I really like "Fem in a Black Leather Jacket" and "Blame the Bible"
3) Worriers - they're not as classic punk in the music style but they do have that gender fuckery enby swag
4) Pure Hell - long story short, found them in a punk zine in my school's archive, searched them up on spotify and I vibed w it. They're def more classic punk, like loud heavy drums and all
5) Partner - another queercore band, this one is for the wlw. They also lean a bit pop punk vs more classic punk but it's really good driving music for me
6) Dream Nails- they're very riot grrrl, I like "Corporate Realness" and "Swimming Pool"
Enjoy, and sorry for the very long ask LOL
no, itâs fine! thank you for the recommendations, i will for sure look into them!
(also iâm totally not nerding out rn bc i absolutely love ur art no iâm totally normal rn)
