Note
im the person who asked about the vague thing, and i mainly asked cause im terrible at specific prompts/requests(?? is there a difference idk) LMAOAOSOS
BUT BUT HERES THE REQUEST!!!! percy jackson x gn reader hurt/comfort??
TY FOR DOING THIS IF YOU DO LOVELY 🫶🫶🫶
thank you so much!!! and of course!
here’s a little something while I work on pt 2 of golden! sorry for the wait, I’ve been super overwhelmed with school n extracurricular stuff :(( cw: violence and fear
frosted glass (percy jackson x reader)
The fluorescent lights are making your eyes water.
“Look. Look!”
An unforgiving hand grabs you by the face and turns you to him. You meet sea-green eyes, narrow and seething.
“You did this, Perseus. All for that little potion.”
You know you look bad. Your cheekbone is painted an ugly purple, eyes bruised with bags. Crusted blood tracks from your nose. It itches. Your throat burns. “No,” you force out through your teeth, breathing hard. “This wasn’t your fault—”
Knuckles knock against your teeth, sudden and biting, and an ache blooms across your top lip. That’ll swell, you think, and you can feel it start to.
“Just hand it over, and we’ll let you both go.”
Percy doesn’t have the bottle. You do — a small glass vial filled with golden, syrupy liquid. It brings someone back to life, if only for a few minutes. Chiron needs it urgently, but so does this boy.
He looks only a little older than the two of you, with wiry blonde hair and vengeful eyes that glint a brilliant blue. He wants— no, needs to speak with his mother. He’s an Ares kid, if you remember correctly, and a deserter. If you’d had two vials, you’d share it. But in his desperation, his love for his mother had turned into hatred for you, and he was, after all, his father’s son. Rage was in his blood. He punches you again.
Percy lunges forward, but there are arms threading under his and locked on either side of his head, so he’s not going anywhere. He looks so angry it would've scared you if you hadn’t known that he’d never hurt you, not even if his life depended on it.
Your head bounces off the ground as you’re thrown down. Percy lunges again, but this time he breaks free and rushes to you.
“Are you okay?” He’s saying before he even kneels. You were bracing yourself up on your forearms, having fallen face first. He turns you forward gently, helping you into a sitting position.
“Mhm,” you hum. “I’m fine.”
You’re not fully sure where you are. You’d been woken up by a punch to the jaw, and you hadn’t had much time to take stock of your surroundings since then. It looks like the back room of some sort of convenience store; the walls are lined with rusted shelves that are stocked with vibrant packaging. The only illumination comes from greenish can lights.
Percy thumbs the blood from your lip. You wince. “Sure you are, hun.”
“Real cute.” The blond drawls. He’s probably about to make some sort of stupid wisecrack, but then the door jingles. It sounds like the bells that are attached to the front door of stores, further reinforcing your theory.
The boy exchanges a look with his friends. Suddenly, you’re being pulled away from Percy. You kick and curse him in the name of everything under Olympus, but a hand is clamped over your mouth and damn, this guy can’t even be that much older than you, yet you’re completely overpowered. You hate the feeling. A muffled sob tumbles forth.
The blonde stares real hard at you for a moment. “Don’t go anywhere,” he finally says, and slips through the frosted glass door.
“How can I help you?” You can hear him say after a moment.
“Oh, I think you know how.”
The voice is strangely familiar. A dangerous tangle of hope, relief, and fear swells in your throat.
“Pardon?”
“Where are they?”
There’s a pause, and then a dull thud.
Then silence.
Its unbearable, almost. To have help so near. At least, you hope it’s help. If it’s not, you're screwed.
The hand tightens around you, a warning.
You’ll take your chances.
You bite down, hard enough to taste blood. The kid shrieks. You’d almost feel bad if he wasn’t totally beating you up earlier.
The door is kicked open, and you don’t remember much after that.
He remembers it clearly, though. It went something like this:
You stumbled forward and Percy caught you. He tried to hold you up— he really did try, but neither of you was strong enough. The two of you fell together, all buckled knees and shaking hands.
“It’s okay,” he mumbled, breathless, as he tried to get a grip on you.
You were in his arms — cold and trembling, he could feel the damp patches in the fabric of your shirt where you were bleeding; but you were clinging to him and he was clinging to you and none of it mattered because you were here. You were here and you were alive, and for a moment, everything was alright again.

“And now it’s time for a breakdown…” /ref
Welcome to my (fairly long lol) breakdown of the thought process behind the Ulysses CMV background!! ✨ I’m gonna go through it shelf by shelf because I think that’s easiest, so… buckle up! :D
TOP SHELF:
Tumblr media
On the far left, we have an Assassins Creed Apple of Eden! Most of the soundtracks to the Ulysses vods came from AC: Odyssey, and AC: Origins! The Ancient Greek and Egyptian music fit him perfectly, who’d have thought. Including the main song from Ulysses epilogue, “Reunited” from AC: Odyssey. Behind that is of course my hand-bound copy of On the Brink of Scientific Discovery. I had to work out a way to get my earliest entry into the Fable Fandom in there somewhere. Beside it is the skull, and a copy of Frankenstein, by Mary Shelly, which I’ve spoken about being an inspiration for Ulysses. Along with, of course, Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, and Herodotus’ Histories (Herodotus being the main inspiration for epilogue Ulysses and who he became towards the end)! And naturally, James Joyce's Ulysses. I had to. Besides that again is another copy of Frankenstein, along with more Ancient Greek works, specifically Euripides’ Medea and the works of the poet Sappho! And a copy of Moby Dick, since Ahab and Ishmael were both concept names for Ulysses during character creation! Besides those, the smaller penguin books, are some of my favourite details but some of the harder to spot because they’re so small. One is another poem by Sappho, Come Close. But the OTHER is The Fall of Icarus by Ovid, which I absolutely had to put in there. Impossible to see, but I know it’s there, and it makes me happy. Of course, once again on the theme of writers is a bust of Shakespeare, but behind him, is actually the set of D&D dice I bought inspired by Ulysses, which are made to look like they have kelp and seaweed inside them! ✨ and finally on the top shelf is a ship, in reference to his sailing and ship in the epilogue art, and a mini Greek style amphora.
MIDDLE SHELF:
Tumblr media
On the far right, at the bottom, is the black knight chess piece, the same as Ulysses tattoo!! A reference to both the Trojan horse and him being a piece in the Telchin’s game. Behind it, the tiki mug, is a somewhat vague reference to the Sea Dragon Tavern! It’s never explicitly stated that they serve tiki drinks, but it certainly feels like a place that would. Tucked in, barely noticeable, is the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Both a reference to more ancient mythology, but also, in a little way, a reference to Lenarius. A book on the treatment and care of the dead. I think it would suit him. Make Len happy. More Greek texts (the Iliad and Odyssey again) this time including Ovid’s Metamorphosis, and Virgil’s Aeneid, a reference to both the mythological epic itself and to my little guy Virgil, from SkyBound SMP. Propped against those are a boatswain’s whistle, which I like to think is a little gift from Vorago and Casus. A captain’s call, to get someone’s attention no matter where you are on the sea, along with a small canon, which is actually from St Augustine Lighthouse, and felt very nautical. Behind those is a set of tarot cards, displaying the Magician, a symbol of manifesting and living to your true potential, which is fitting for Ulysses. All of that is of course propped on ANOTHER copy of the Odyssey. The full moon, as a little reference to his bestie Fenris, and a bear statue, which is a little nod to the fact I also voiced Deltavera (and the statue was actually a gift Jamie got me one of the times we met up)! Beside that is a handful of little bottles! The dice inside are mostly just because… that’s what I keep in those little potion bottles, but maybe they’re a reference to Wheel Not Fake or something too, who knows lol- and a little white axolotl plush. My son. My own personal little Perseus, I bought him the second I saw him akgsksgs ✨🫶
BOTTOM SHELF:
Tumblr media
Almost done lol. The globe on the end, both a reference to the cartography/travel, and the fact that it’s turned to just show the ocean, rather than any countries. The sea is his home, after all. Another axolotl plush, peeking out from behind yet ANOTHER copy of the Iliad and Odyssey, which is balanced on a copy of Dante’s Divine Comedy, as another little reference to Virgil from Bound SMP. Behind that is a whisky bottle, which is empty in the photo but not in the CMV, as a reference to the Kelpin’ alcohol! And finally, the stack of books in the corner. The folio society set of The Greek Myths are some of my favourite books I own, and I had to include them, along with a few more potion bottles, which actually include the dice from various Cantripped One Shots (I have special dice for characters and one shots when I can)! The stack of books behind the scrolls and lanterns also include Madeline Miller’s The Song of Achilles (one of the inspirations behind Ulysses & Vesperae’s relationship) and Circe (more Odyssey references), along with world myths and Icelandic Sagas, and The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon, which was an early and incredibly influential historical text about the Roman’s (which somewhat inspired the structure and lore of the broader Telchin society!), on top of which is more mythology like the Welsh Mabinogion, the Norse Poetic Edda, and a horror anthology titled The Great God Pan and Other Horror Stories, many of which inspired Brink!! The lantern is, in all honesty, the only there not there for a specific reason… I just thought it looked cool :)
So yeah! That was my overly long analysis of my overly detailed Ulysses set background! Barely any of it is visible in the CMV, but for my little farewell to the character and world I had spent so long falling in love with, I wanted to make the background something special 🫶

Trying to figure out the timeline in Greek Mythology is really head-scratching sometimes. For example, some versions of the myth of Hephaestus making the golden chair by which he punished his mother state that he was eventually prevailed upon by Dionysus. But then we know that Hephaestus also gave a cursed necklace to Harmonia at her wedding because she was Aphrodite and Ares' daughter. Harmonia was Dionysus' grandmother.
Then we have mentions of Hermes at the wedding of Zeus and Hera, despite the fact that technically speaking he wasn't even born back then.
And then, there are also those myths where Heracles makes an appearance AND is a mortal too, despite the fact that he's supposed to be already dead/a god. Not to mention the fact that Perseus and Heracles seem to be contemporary sometimes, despite the fact that they're literally great-grandfather and great-grandson.
Tumblr media
Anyway, now I'm going to focus on Persephone, and when she was actually kidnapped, chronologically speaking. The reason why I'm doing this is because a lot of people make her one of the youngest of her siblings (despite the fact that she's technically one of the oldest children of Zeus) and usually place the time when she wad kidnapped around the time when Theseus and Pirithous decided to kidnap her. I encountered people stating that she got married after the Trojan War, despite the fact that she's literally mentioned in the Iliad as the Queen of the Underworld. I even saw someone saying that she was kidnapped thirteen years before Ariadne died (Wow, what a specific details, right?).
However, if you read the myth of Tantalus then you would discover that the reason why Demeter didn't realize that she was eating human meat was because she was distraught by the loss of her daughter. The human meat in question is Pelops, who was contemporary with Perseus judging by the fact that some of their children got married. So Persephone became the Queen of the Underworld quite earlier than people think.
Now, another argument which could be brought into discussion is that Persephone is the mother of Zagreus, who later got reincarnated as Dionysus, which makes the timeline confusing again. But we do know that Zeus recovered Zagreus' heart and either turned it into a potion for Semele to inbibe, or swallowed it himself before having intercourse with her. Who said that he used that heart right after he found it? What if he waited for decades or even centuries until he found a woman whom he considered fitting to bear one of his divine children?

"King Polydectes Prize" (#9 in my "Quest for the Gorgon Head" series)
Part 9: Upon returning to Seriphos, Perseus finds his mother fearing for her life in the temple from the lecherous King Pholydectes, who had assumed our hero dead. Perseus rushes into the throne room, turns his head away, and unleashes the full power of Medusa’s gaze upon the king and his soldiers, freezing them to cold stone before they could attack or even flee.
This is an amazing climactic scene, and is appropriately dramatic. It brings to mind the fairytale trope, where a character must conquer and remove an evil step-parent who has usurped and corrupted the natural parentage. We also have the fascinating symbolic motif of defeating a monster, then absorbing and using the monster’s powers against other adversaries. So, the monster’s abilities, initially a deadly danger, have now become an advantageous tool in the hero’s repertoire.
On the flip side, this situation reminds me of an example where a character thought they had a magic tool, but it turned out to be a deadly weapon. When Hercules saw the centaur Nessus attempting to rape his wife Deinara, Hercules shot him with an arrow tipped with the poison of the hydra. While Nessus lay dying, the centaur tricked Deianeira, telling her his magic blood was a love potion. Later in life, when her trust was waning, she spread the blood on a robe and gifted it to her husband, who was burned a live by the hydras poison in the blood.

Just stumble across your fae!Adler au, omg I love the idea. Like tries so much you could do with that(obsession, paranoia over the fear of a fae recapturing you, etc) can you imagine the shear terror when he eventually finds bell after those few years? And if going down the dark smut route… whooo
will there be wings if you ever plan on getting back to this
Omg hi anon!! Congrats, you're my first ever anon <3
Here's a bit more of what I thought about because you really motivated me and I needed to procrastinate an essay lol
Be warned, it's a lot.
Adler has the ability to manipulate peoples perceptions of the world. He uses this ability to trap and isolate Bell from their family and friends. He takes Bell’s real name from them and names them Bell, eventually forgetting their real name. They do not know about the fae world, had been raised with no magic and no magical friends to protect them.
Bell sees him as an old friend, not aware that he had changed their memories and forced them to forget things. The pair become inseparable, and Adler soon begins to view them as a friend, maybe something more >:)
When he has enough tethers in Bell to force them to do whatever he wants, Adler reveals his plan. Unfortunately for him, he no longer sees them as a toy to play with, but a genuine friend. In contrast, Bell feels horribly betrayed and becomes stiff and cold with him.
In an attempt to escape, they go to one of Adler’s enemies, Perseus. He manages to hide them from Adler. Then he forces them to drink a potion to paralyze them and rips the tethers from their body. It is not a kind process, it is violent and bloody and nearly kills them.
The process leaves them with cruel jagged scars across their body where the tethers were extracted. But they are free, though not entirely without Adler’s mark. He has even managed to brand them further than the scars, a little bell over their heart.
As soon as Perseus finished, even though they are closer to death than living, they kill him, and every other fae or creature they come across in their escape from Perseus’s area.
Making it from the fae world, they rent a shitty motel until they heal, and once they do heal, they find a coastal cottage selling for cheap, and buy it, slowly renovating it. It is then they discover that being in the Fae World for so long changed them, they are no longer quite human. The area Bell occupies is cold enough that it reminds them of winter, but not so cold to send them into a panic attack. They can no longer stand to live in the heat, and have become something not quite human, not quite fae.
But, two years into hiding, Adler finds them. He doesn’t let them know of course. No, first he needs to observe them. He watches them for six months. In those six months, he brushes up against their wards, getting them used to his presence. During this time, he uses his magic to help them, keeping their food fresh for longer, helping them sleep, soothing their worried mind. Eventually the wards come to understand him as a helpful figure, and let him onto the protected lands.
At the end of the two years, he knocks on their door. When they instantly try to kill him, he restrains them. He studies them, the scars left by his tethers being cruelly extracted, and looks for his mark. The mark he gave them when Bell had thought them friends. When Bell begs him to kill them, not to take them, he feels sadness, then promptly ignores it and their request.
For the first few hours, they scream themselves hoarse at him. They call him names and curses and rage as they throw things and attack him, telling him to get out of their house. It takes him the entitreity of those hours to grab Bell, to cradle them in his arms and attempt to calm them down.
His hold does the opposite, as they then begin to beg him, begging for him to just kill them, to just let them go, please don’t take their memories again. Finally, they begin to cry in earnest big heaving sobs that choke out their voice, not letting him comfort them.
They fell asleep on the couch cradled in his arms, tears still running down their cheeks. Eventually, when they woke up, they were cold and distant with him.
— Two Ideas from here —
Adler decides to let them continue living their life, though he kept popping up.
Eventually, Bell begins to reluctantly trust him. Slowly, their relationship resembled what it had been in the beginning. Soon, they were reading and watching movies together, even falling asleep next to each other on the sofa.
Time goes by, and the pair have repaired their relationship. Alder then gives Bell his name, and gives them their name back. They have emotional sex, and Adler asks them to come back with him. They agree, and he takes them back to his little corner of the Fae Lands, and they live together forever.
Not happily ever after however. Oh there are loud fights and silent treatments and many more nasty things between them. But for every unhappy moment, there are a thousand more good ones.
— OR —
When they fall asleep, Adler steals them away back to his lands. Bell wakes up terrified confused in his bed, someone having changed them into soft nightclothes with Adler running a soothing hand through their hair. They try to escape, but Adler pins them down.
In the beginning, Adler would have used one of his tethers to force them to stay. But now? With the way they had been removed from their body, Bell could no longer bear his tethers, for any he tried to hook into them were rejected. So he just restrains them, keeps Bell pinned to the floor.
Then he leans in and kisses them. Though they try to reject it, he can feel their body reacting, can feel Bell’s arousal. So he continues, and it is kind and sweet. But it does not make things better as he had hoped.
When they stop, he watches in real time as the last of the spark goes out from their eyes. He doesn’t know what to do when they slump to the ground, like a puppet with its strings cut. All he can do is gather them to his chest and whisper comforting words. They liked it when he did it, before all this happened, surely it will help again this time? Right?
Wrong.
They don’t respond, having tunneled somewhere deep into their mind. It is weeks before they resurface. Even when Bell is back to themselves, they are distant. Bell doesn’t even pick fights with him. Their silence drives Adler up a wall in the way their anger never could achieve.
It continues this way for an indiscernible amount of time, after all what was such an inconvenient thing as time to an immortal being such as him? But it did last for longer than he had hoped, and he was about to give up on Bell, to grant their wish and end their life.
One night though, as he gets into bed beside Bell, they slump into him, and defeatedly mutter, “Okay. You win.” and for the first time in years, do not flinch away from his touch. He wraps an arm around their shoulder and they burrow closer. Nothing else happens that night, for he is wary of how Bell reacted to the last time they had sex.
It continues much in this same vein for a long time. No one is sure how long it takes, but eventually, Bell allows him one tether. And Adler vows never to use it to hurt them again. In return, he gives Bell his true name, so that if he ever does them harm again, Bell can hurt him as badly as he hurt them.
Wow this was a lot shorter in my notes. Whoops ':)

The Origins of The Invisible Man
Tumblr media
The 1933 film The Invisible Man by Universal Studios, directed by James Whale and starring Claude Rains, was based on H.G. Wells’ novel The Invisible Man, published in 1897.
Wells' novel is often considered the definitive work on invisibility in fiction, exploring the scientific and moral consequences of invisibility. The novel's protagonist, Griffin, discovers a way to become invisible but gradually descends into madness, using his power for evil.
Wells was a prolific writer and is often credited with pioneering modern science fiction, and The Invisible Man was part of his larger body of work that included other influential novels like The Time Machine (1895) and The War of the Worlds (1898).
Earlier Stories of Invisibility:
The story of The Invisible Man is one of the most famous early science fiction narratives, but it has roots in much older traditions in mythology and folklore.
Greek Mythology: One of the earliest references to invisibility is in the myth of Perseus, who used a cap of invisibility (the Helm of Hades) to avoid being seen by Medusa before he killed her. This motif of an object granting invisibility recurs in various myths.
The Ring of Gyges (Plato’s The Republic, 4th century BCE) – In this story, Gyges finds a magical ring that makes him invisible, allowing him to commit immoral acts without being detected. This ancient story touches on themes similar to those in The Invisible Man, especially the idea that invisibility can lead to a loss of moral restraint.
Medieval Folklore: The idea of invisibility also appears in medieval romances and folklore. Various magical items, such as cloaks or rings, were often used to grant characters the ability to become invisible.
"The Invisible Girl" by Mary Shelley (1833) – Mary Shelley, famous for writing Frankenstein, also explored the idea of invisibility in this short story. It is less about scientific invisibility and more about mysterious circumstances, but it is an early example of invisibility in literature.
"The Crystal Man" by Edward Page Mitchell (1881) – This short story, published in The Sun newspaper, features a man who becomes invisible due to his body’s molecular transformation, one of the first uses of science fiction to explain invisibility. Mitchell’s story predated Wells’ The Invisible Man and touched on some similar ideas.
Earlier Films about Invisibility:
While The Invisible Man (1933) is the most famous early film about invisibility, it was not the first to explore this concept:
"The Invisible Thief" (1909) – A silent short film by the pioneering French filmmaker Georges Méliès, who often used early special effects to create fantastical stories. In this film, invisibility is a key plot device.
"L'homme invisible" (1909) – Another early French silent film, translating to "The Invisible Man," which involved a character using an invisibility potion. These early films mostly involved simple camera tricks and were often comedic rather than serious explorations of the theme.
"The Invisible Ray" (1920) – A silent German film that centers on a scientist who uses rays to become invisible. This is one of the early examples of invisible characters in cinema, though it was more of a science fiction thriller than a horror movie.
Universal's The Invisible Man (1933)
The Invisible Man (1933) was not the first movie to tackle invisibility but was the first to fully embrace it in the context of science fiction horror. It became the most influential film on the subject, setting the template for how invisibility is portrayed in popular culture, much like Universal's other monster films.

Note
telling you, whenever they had potions, someone (Perseus) had to drag Nox down into the Dungeons, like
Nox: Hey, what lesson is next?
Perseus, holding a frying pan: You're not gonna like this.
Nox:
Nox: We're having potions now, aren't we.
(he had personal beef with Snape, but like- who can blame him.)
I'd have personal beef w Snape too tbh 💀

Recently decided to update the designs of my Arcane Detectives Club characters!
In order we have: Salem (he/him), Callum (they/them), Simon (he/him), Selena, (she/her), Percy (they/them), Judas (he/him/de/dem), Déjà (ve/vem), Aldric (he/him), and Alais (he/him/they/them)!
Huge infodump under the cut
Henlo these are my little magic guys please like them sghjfd
but really, this is my semi-modern fantasy story that I've had for a little over 4 years now.
the story followed Callum and Salem, two orphans who get sent off to a prestigious boarding school known as Opalwood Academy. Opalwood academy is a school that along side normal school curriculum also has classes dedicated to fostering magically gifted students. Only though with potentially strong magical abilities are able to join the school, which is how Salem and Callum got in. The story followed their school life but most importantly the club they join in the library, the Arcane detectives club.
The ADC originally started as a mystery book group where the members would read mystery novels or look up real world mysteries to try and solve. Though they soon become actual detectives after a spree of bad pranks start happening in the school. The story after that point followed multiple real mysteries that the kids take upon themselves to solve; with new members joining along the way.
The characters are split into 3 groups: The ADC originals, the ADC newcomers, and non ADC memebers.
The originals are: Salem, Callum, Selena, and Percy.
Newcomers are: Simon, Deja, and Judas.
Non-ADC are: Aldric and Alais.
Prepare for some character summaries below in order of the character images above.
Salem Grimmerwold (he/him Agender)
proficiency: Reality manipulation
Class Level: 2
Salem is a 15 year old student at O.W. Academy. Salem was orphaned at a young age thanks to his curse and was sent to live in Rainshine Orphanage. While there he met his best friend, practically sibling, Callum. Due to how he is treated from his curse, Salem can come off as distant to strangers. He tends to speak politely in a disconnected manner which can seem off putting to those around him but once you get to know him you will find he can be quite the goofball.
Callum Heartstrong (they/them Nonbinary)
proficiency: Plant Magic
Class level: 2
Callum is a 15 year old student at O.W. Academy. After a tragic accident that too their parent's lives they were sent to live in Rainshine Orphanage, where they met Salem. Many would call Callum an extrovert with how much they love talking to people but they would be wrong as Callum is really just an outgoing introvert. If you were to walk into their room you'd thing you had entered a green house with how many plants they have - curiously enough, it seems Callum has the ability to talk to them.
Simon Brewer (he/him Cis)
proficiency: Alchemy
Class Level : 2
Simon is a 15 year old student at O.W. Academy. Simon is considered one of the more talented alchemist students in the Academy. He has a deep understanding of potion making, herbs, and magical effects and is able to create potions that most students have yet to learn. Unfortunately, this has made him the target of a few jealous students...
Selena Winters (she/her Cis)
proficiency: Illusions
Class Level: 3
Selena is a 16 year old student at O.W. Academy. She is the president of the Arcane Detectives club, having started it when she was level 2. When she first started the ADC it was a book club specifically about reading mystery books and the such. She works as the assistant at the library and can often be found walking amongst the shelves.
Perseus "Percy" Bronwyn (they/them Androgyne)
proficiency: Animal magic
Class level: 3
Percy is a 15 year old student at O.W. Academy. Percy's specialty is in animal magic but they have been secretly been practicing the controversial magic of necromancy. With their dream to be a veterinarian for magical creatures, they believe that necromancy can help them save more animals - even if the use of it could get them in trouble with the school. Percy also has the ability to turn into an owl.
Judas Ambrose (He/Him/De/Dem Genderweird)
proficiency: Charms
Class Level: 3
Judas is a 14 year old student at O.W. Academy. Judas is one of few students who take night classes at the Academy, which has lead to student's speculating if he is a vampire or not. He is rather skittish and avoids any questions related to him possibly being a vampire, causing rumors to spread more. De doesn't seem all that thrilled being in the public eye, often hiding in deir dorm room and only leaving for classes.
Déjà Vasilis (Ve/Vem Cosmicgender)
proficiency: time manipulation
Class Level: 2
Deja is a 14 year old student at O.W. Academy. No one knows how Ve has such high grades while also slacking off at any given moment. Ve also have the uncanny ability to finish peoples sentences or predict events before they happen. some are convinced that ve may be using time magic to perfect their classes - but of course no one can prove it and Deja sure won't confirm such an accusation lest they get in trouble with the school for the use of a highly regulated magic.
Aldric Gardner (he/him Transman)
proficiency: Magic absorption and amplification
Aldric, while he may not look it, is actually around 500 years old. After being caught partaking in black magic he was locked away in a magical amulet. Passed around as old jewelry he somehow made his way into the hands of two young O.W. students, Callum and Salem. Aldric decides to team up with the kids in hopes that they may be able to release him from his amulet prison. Though, has he really learned his lesson as he claims?
Alais Locke (He/Him/They/Them Demiboy)
proficiency: reanimation magic
Alais is a mysterious warlock who no one recognizes as an O.W. Academy student. Yet, when things start to go missing around the school all evidence is pointing to them. Who are they and what exactly are they looking for at the Academy? (Alais' arc is still a WIP so just know that his story will likely change as i brainstorm it more)

Later in life, when her trust was waning, she spread the blood on a robe and gifted it to her husband, who was burned a live by the hydras poison in the blood.

i've been thinking about these three a lot and i never actually drew them or introduced them (except for imani a few years back) but here's perseus' and eloywn's parents!
in order, their names are tiberius, imani and viktor! they're all very happily married to one another and are roughly 20-21ish here. i'll give very brief rundowns on them all!
tiberius was the heir to a small kingdom known for its riches, however he's much to relaxed and isn't huge on politics, so he instead passed it onto his younger brother, midas (yeah like the golden touch dude). he's witty and always ready to tell a joke, and is always mentioned for his warm energy. when they have their kids, he's the stay-at home parent of the three.
imani is the youngest of 5, and even with 4 older sisters she's the darling baby who is thoroughly adored by her parents and sisters. she has the largest family of her partners and is a very caring and sweet girl who can make even the toughest of people smile. imani does a plethora of odd jobs, mostly creating potions and contraptions for people, however like tiberius, she is supported by her family's name and wealth.
viktor is uptight and difficult to warm up to others due to being raised by his cold and abusive father. but once you get to know him, he's incredibly caring in his own silent way, and his playfulness shines through. he spends most of his time reading books and having a plethora of knowledge on hand, but very much prefers to keep his company with his partners. he'll later become a professor that's generally favored among his students moreso than the other teachers.

“The early Gorgon was a potent Goddess dealing with life and death, not the later Indo-European monster to be slain by heroes such as Perseus. Images of her with the wings of a bee surrounded by whirls and flanked by cranes and lions (which replaced earlier Old European dogs) or holding cranes and geese in her hands…betray her identity as the ’Mistress of Wild things,’ or Artemis. Her frightening mask indicates that she is the Erinys side of Artemis, the dangerous one. In other words, she is Hekate, whose temples and altars stood at gates, entrances, or in front of houses in ancient Greece. In the earliest historic records which mention her, she is linked with Artemis. Artemis and Hekate are one, a lunar Goddess of the life cycle with two aspects: one standing at the beginning of the cycle, the other at the end; one young, pure and beautiful, connected with young life, and the other gruesome, connected with death. No wonder that the Orphics saw the moon’s face as a Gorgon’s head. Hekate is described as traveling above graveyards with her hounds, collecting poison and then mixing deadly potions…She is a remorseless killer appeased only by bloody sacrifices. Her eerie howl conveys the presence of death.”
-The Language of the Goddess by Marija Gimbutas
I suspect that this will be a somewhat controversial quote, but I'm posting it because I'm interested in what other people think of it. I find Gimbutas's work fascinating, although I know it's controversial.
