Companion camping at Rasar State Park is where it’s at! Rasar is off hwy 20 in the Cascades, just past Concrete, WA and situated along the Skagit River. This park has companion sites where two neighboring slips can be reserved with one booking. It takes the drama out of trying to arrange sites with your camping pals. We LOVE this place. This park doesn’t have much day-use traffic and has beautiful wooded walking trails that the kids and dogs loved. Our friends went with us during the Persaid Meteor showers and we walked out to the huge grassy field at night, laid out in our campin’ blankets and watched the sky dance. The river water is COLD, but refreshing on a hot day. Kids had plenty of fun jumping in and out and in and out. Companion camping is perfect for cooking competitions, like the burger war featured in one of these pics.
